Spiritual warfare requires awareness, and in this illuminating episode of the Think Cute podcast, we unpack how seemingly small actions can open doors to the enemy's influence in our lives. Are you unconsciously inviting chaos through sins of commission? The time has come to recognize these entry points and reclaim your authority.

Drawing from Paul's powerful athletic imagery, we explore the Christian journey as a race requiring discipline, endurance, and purpose. "I beat my body and make it my slave," Paul writes, reminding us that spiritual growth demands the same intentional training as physical fitness. Though perfection remains out of reach, we press forward with determination, celebrating victories while confronting what needs transformation.

The heart of this teaching examines specific sins of commission that create vulnerability in our spiritual armor: lying (including those "just kidding" moments that mask hurtful truths), stealing (even small things), murder (including the spiritual assassination of someone's dreams), adultery, sexual immorality, witchcraft, and idolatry (placing anything—success, people, feelings—before God). By defining each clearly, we expose subtle ways these manifest in everyday life.

Perhaps most profound is the revelation that "we see from where our heart is." When our hearts harbor rejection, bitterness, or pain, we interpret everything through those wounded filters. Only the Holy Spirit can heal these distorted perspectives, allowing us to see others as God does. This transformation begins with honest self-examination and surrender.

This isn't a passive journey—"heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force." We must actively bring heaven to earth by binding our mind, body, spirit, and soul to Christ. Through awareness, spiritual discipline, and Holy Spirit transformation, we can shut doors to the enemy and embrace the abundant life God intended. Join me in this practice of becoming more Christ-like every day, celebrating progress while confronting what needs to change.

Speaker 0 (00:00):
Welcome back to the Think Cute podcast, where
thinking cute is a lifestyle Notbeing conformed to the world
but being transformed by therenewing of your mind.
Here we are disrupting toxicpatterns and we are pushing back
the gates of hell intentionally.
We are being equipped and weare running the race and I am so

(00:21):
excited that you're here tohave this conversation with me
today.
As we continue our Sonshipseries and just as we talked
last episode in unveiling theenemy's tactics and reclaiming
your identity in Christ, weuncovered a handful of sins and
I shared on my Instagram storiestoday about like where are we

(00:43):
opening the door, willingly orunbeknownst to us?
Like we're opening the door tothe enemy and just saying, hey,
come on in, torment me, wreckhavoc on my life, cause division
and do the things that you doto kill, steal and destroy me,
versus being aware of histactics and being aware of where

(01:06):
we actually have authority toshut the door.
This is a pretty heavy topic.
I would say it's a simpleprinciple in the Bible, but it's
very with the way the world istoday.
There's confusion and there isa lot of like I want to say it
comes to me like this he said, she said kind of stuff, and so I

(01:29):
just want to encourage you tocontinue to read your Bible and
really dig in and find thescriptures that support
everything that I share with you.
It is a time of war.
There is two kingdoms at play, and it is so important for us to
recognize and become so awareand self-aware in how we are
operating every day, and if weare unconscious to our patterns

(01:53):
that are toxic, we need to takeauthority and become aware so we
can disrupt toxic patterns.
And that's what the mandate onmy life has been in starting
this podcast, in what I do withwomen and what God has done with
me, in the revelation and thejourney that he has taken me on
the past 10 plus years of mylife in pushing back the gates

(02:16):
of hell personally.
And so I bring to you today acall, a mandate, that says hey,
once you know, you can't unknow.
Once you know something, youcan't unknow.
Once you know something, youcan't unknow what you know.
And so if you don't do anythingabout it, that's not on anybody
, but you, and you have thepower to change your life.
It's a choice and, like I saidin the last episode or two, you

(02:40):
get to choose.
I get to choose what hard Iexperience.
It's hard to sin.
It's hard not to sin.
It's like it's a narrow roadthat leads to life, but don't
you want to be on it.
It is a wide road to death.
There's so many options for youin death, but it's a narrow
road that leads to life.

(03:01):
And so here's the thing weopened up the can about what the
Bible says about sin, andthere's a handful of them.
We talked briefly on a few ofthem in the last episode, but I
want to go deeper.
But I also want to bring tolight what Paul says about
becoming and pursuing andpressing on and, you know,

(03:23):
running this race to lookinglike Christ.
You know, because here's thething we're talking about all
the things that could be goingwrong.
We do want to also celebratewhat is going right and what
you're doing right.
It's not always negative,negative, negative.
Okay, I want to remind you, asthe Holy Spirit reminds me, of
hey, we have to celebrate.

(03:43):
We have to celebrate and wehave to become aware of what's
not working, and we have to goto work on that as well.
But in the midst of going towork and disrupting toxic
patterns, we also have torecognize, hey, what have I
overcome?
What toxic patterns am I nolonger operating in?
And like, celebrate, celebratethe mere fact that you become
aware of a toxic pattern.

(04:04):
You know what I'm saying.
Like, so celebrate and alsoknow that you are not perfect.
I am not perfect.
I share as a practice.
This is what I'm practicing.
And so in the practice, like adoctor goes to school to learn a
thing, and then they open up apractice and they're practicing
every time they do a surgery.
It's why it's called a practice, a doctor's practice, a

(04:26):
coaching practice, a therapypractice, because we're
practicing, Everybody'spracticing.
Nobody is perfect.
You know who's perfect?
Jesus, and guess what?
We're called to look like Jesushere on earth.
We're called to bring heaven toearth.
Are we aware of the practice ofthat right?
And so let's practice today.
Let's continue practicing, let's continue, and I want to
encourage you with run, withpurpose, and Paul talks about

(04:48):
within 1 Corinthians, 9, 24 to27,.
Do you not know that in a race, all the runners run, but only
one gets the prize?
So run in such a way as to getthe prize.
Every athlete exercisesself-control in all things.
I beat my body and make it myslave, beat it into submission
lest, after preaching to others,I myself should be disqualified

(05:13):
.
You're in a race to win.
It is a race, it's your race.
It's your race.
There's nobody else in thisrace but you.
So that means that you don'tcompare, you don't look left to
right.
You run the race that God hasgiven you.
You know the vision and you runafter it.
You have self-control, like anathlete.
You train, you practice and youavoid disqualification.

(05:34):
It's a warning, not about losingsalvation, but about failing to
live up to God's calling.
Are you aware?
We have to become aware, mygirl, this is the call, the
upward call, not yet perfect,we're pressing in, we're
pressing on.
Philippians 3, 12 through 14,paul talks about this and he
admits not that I have alreadyobtained or am already perfect,

(05:58):
but I press on to make it my own.
I press on forward toward thegoal for the prize of the upward
call of God in Christ Jesus.
So here we are, we recognize it.
Let's just be human.
Like, let's embrace ourhumanity and know that we're not
perfect yet, okay.
Like it ain't gonna happen.
When Jesus comes and we havepracticed long enough when he

(06:22):
comes, we pray that we have theoil to get us in.
You know what I'm saying.
Let's be intentional every dayto practice.
We're not going to be perfectand we acknowledge that, but we
press on, we focus on continualgrowth that matures us.
We are becoming matureChristians, emotionally
intelligent us.

(06:43):
We are becoming matureChristians, emotionally
intelligent, being like Christ.
We have an endurance mindset.
We have an endurance mindset.
We're not perfect, we'repressing on, we're present in
and we have an endurance mindset.
That means that we maintainhumility and we remain teachable
in our spiritual maturity.
Paul, when he says this, it'slike he maintains humility and
he teaches the readers, us, toremain teachable in our

(07:04):
spiritual maturity.
And so what do we do?
We also learn something and it,you know, it's a good idea to
go teach somebody what we learn,if it's a good thing.
You know what I'm saying.
Let Paul be.
I, like if I was to hang outwith anybody, I want to hang out
with Paul, like he is so realfor this, he is so real to know
and to just come on, fight thegood fight.

(07:24):
Just be like, be humble, behuman, it's fine.
You're not perfect.
Like don't beat yourself up,okay, it's going to be okay.
You're amazing because you'repracticing to be like Christ.
And so we recognize it.
Remember he says in 2 Timothy 4,7, he says I have fought the
good fight, I have finished therace, I have kept the faith.

(07:46):
Can we say that up until thispoint, have you fought the good
fight?
Have you finished the race?
Up until this season, have youkept the faith?
Now I recognize, and so doesPaul.
It's not easy.
He's like, oh my gosh, my fleshwants to do this and I continue
to do this.
But I really want to do this.
The Bible says the spirit iswilling, but the flesh isn't.

(08:06):
We've got to shut the flesh up.
Okay, we have to shut the fleshup.
And so let's talk about how wecan shut the flesh up and dig
into the first layer of what Ishared in the last one, of what
you do, sins of commission.
So the introduction is just thatwe have to recognize we're not
perfect, but we also have torecognize that there's two

(08:28):
kingdoms in play and we have totake heaven by force.
Heaven suffers violence and theviolent take it by force.
Are you passively standing bywhile hell breaks loose in your
life or are you bringing heavento earth forcefully and taking
your freedom, taking what Godsays is yours my mind, my body,

(08:49):
my spirit, my soul.
I bind it to Christ.
I submit my body, spirit andsoul to heaven that I would be
in such alignment that I wouldbring heaven to earth, and I
would hear what God says.
I would hear what heaven has tosay about every situation that
I would be so acutely aware, andI would hear the Holy Spirit
whisper when he says turn left, turn right.

(09:09):
Don't do that.
Stop, go back, take three stepsback, speak right now.
Are we, are we in tune?
Are we, are we?
Are we we gotta?
We gotta put our boxing gloveson.
And this is something that I'mlike oh my gosh, girl, you
better get in the gym, becausethis is something that we can
physically, if we like, buildour body.
Like Paul said, I beat my bodyinto submission like an athlete.

(09:32):
This has always stuck out to meand this is the one thing that
has been eluding me.
Eluding me for so long is likegetting in the gym because I've
had a wrong mindset.
We have to change our mindsetabout things, and so, like I
want to get in the gym, I wantto be strong for Jesus, like I
want to beat my body into suchsubmission and today I'm going
to go into the gym and I'm goingto take my words right now.

(09:53):
I'm going to put it into actionand I'm going to beat my body
into submission.
I'm going to build my muscles, that, because my body, I can see
my muscles that I can likespiritually, see that my spirit
is getting stronger in the wordand as I step out and do a thing
physically, like we have totake action physically in order

(10:13):
to see things shift right.
And so what are we doing?
That we have to be confrontingto the things that are holding
us back.
We have to confront it is agood thing to confront what has
been holding us back.
So, with all that being said, girl, I'm speaking to myself out
loud in my conviction ofbuilding my body strong.
Okay, so what can you do?

(10:34):
Go work out.
Go work out.
It's going to help your mind, body and soul and spirit.
Here are some things that youcan do.
Sins of commission these arethings you do that are against
God's will.
Deliberate disobedience we wantto be aware of immediate
obedience, not deliberatedisobedience.
So, lying in Proverbs 6, 16through 17,.

(10:56):
Lying oh, it was just a whitelie, oh, it was just, I'm just
kidding.
I'm just kidding.
We have to be aware of whatlying is.
So break it down.
What does lying mean?
Lying means an intentionallyfalse statement.
Lying, it's an intentionalfalse statement.
You can't just say you'rekidding.
If you want to tell the truth, tell the truth, because the

(11:18):
truth will set you free.
If you don't like someone'shair, maybe you shouldn't say it
Like it's none of your business.
If you like, that's an opinion.
Maybe sometimes you should keepyour opinion to yourself
instead of saying, oh, your hairis so ratchet, I'm just kidding
.
I'm just kidding, you're lying.
You actually meant to say thatyou actually like.

(11:44):
You're hurting people'sfeelings and you are saying, oh,
I'm just kidding, you're lying.
Where's your heart?
What's your heart?
Posture around things thatyou're saying.
So be intentional with yourwords and only say what is true.
Only say what is true, becauseyou know one lie leads to
another, that leads to another.
That is a spider web of deceit.
Next is stealing.
Exodus 2015 talks about this.
Stealing I'll look it up andgive you the definition is to
take another person's propertywithout permission or legal
right and without intending toreturn it.

(12:06):
So when you know the definitionof a thing, you can understand
it and you can apply it better.
So stealing is taking somethingthat's not yours with intention
of not returning it and youdidn't have permission.
So little things.
It's a piece of gum, it's 50cents that you found on the
counter.
That was not yours but you know, it's potentially your parents.
Or, like I'm talking to kids,I'm a mom.

(12:28):
It's little things.
It's little things.
It's the little foxes that wehave to pay attention to that
really truly make a mess.
Next is murder.
Now, these are things, sins ofcommission things, what you do,
murder, the unlawful, premeditated killing of one
human being by another.

(12:48):
You know, I would even like tosay the murder spiritually,
spiritually murdering somebody.
It's on your hands.
When you intentionally killsomething, maybe it's a dream of
somebody's.
Next is adultery, exodus 20, 14.
Adultery definition bydefinition voluntary sexual

(13:08):
intercourse between a marriedperson and a person who is not
his or her spouse.
Unfaithful, infidelity,falseness, disloyalty.
So if you are in a relationship, a marriage relationship, do
not commit adultery, sexualimmorality.
So sex is a holy covenant gift.
It's meant to be between oneman and one woman, in the

(13:32):
context of marriage only.
This is why a man leaves hisfather and mother and is united
with his wife and they becomeone flesh.
So anything outside of God'sdesign for sex is, in fact,
sexual immorality.
And then, moving on to the nextitem on the list of sins, of

(13:54):
commission things that we do, ofcommission things that we do
witchcraft and idolatry.
Galatians 5, 19 through 21.
I highly recommend that you goin.
Oh, sexual immorality.
1 Corinthians 6, 18 talks aboutthat.
So I highly recommend you goingto look up these scriptures for
yourself to get a furtherunderstanding.
I am simply just sharing whatthe sins of commission are so

(14:18):
that you will know.
Witchcraft and idolatry.
The biblical definition ofwitchcraft is the use of magic
spells, potion or enchantments, the manipulation of spiritual
power apart from God, trying tocontrol outcomes or people
through spiritual means otherthan the Holy Spirit.
The acts of flesh are obvioussexual immorality, idolatry and

(14:40):
witchcraft.
Those who live like this willnot inherit the kingdom of God.
Galatians 5, 19-21 speaks ofthis Also.
Idolatry it's the worship ordevotion service to anything
other than God.
You shall have no other godsbefore me, says the Lord in
Exodus 20, verse 3.
So, anything other than God?

(15:02):
What do you put people, money, success yourself, your feelings,
addictions before God?
That's idolatry.
That is idolatry.
It says in Romans 1.25,.
They exchanged the truth aboutGod for a lie and worshipped and
served created things ratherthan the creator.
This is like a fine, fine line.

(15:22):
So really, really pay attention, be led by the spirit on this,
like Father, god, show me whereI could be operating in any of
these sins of commission.
What am I doing that is out ofalignment with you, god?
In Galatians 5, 19, 20.
Now, the works of the flesh areevident sexual immorality,
impurity, sensuality, idolatry,sorcery.

(15:45):
In Galatians 5, 19 through 20,it talks about that.
That is all I wanted to sharewith you today.
What you do opens the door tothe enemy in lying, stealing,
murder, adultery, sexualimmorality, witchcraft and
idolatry.
We have to be so aware, spiritually and physically.
Spiritually, where are wecommitting adultery, murder?

(16:07):
Where are we stealing, lying?
If we are aware, awareness isyour superpower, awareness is
your superpower, and so, if youcan become aware of the things
that you do and if you arewillingly in sin, of commission
these things, let's turn, let'sbreak agreement, let's ask for
forgiveness, forgive ourself forcoming in and doing these

(16:29):
things, and simply turn awayfrom the evil deeds and shut the
flesh up and chase after God.
Run the race to become morelike Jesus every day.
Practice, beat your body intosubmission.
Know the word of God that youwill live a long and healthy,
powerful life.
Like I said before in the lastepisode, my people perish for

(16:52):
lack of knowledge.
God said you will perishbecause you did not know.
So it is our job to educate, doctrinate ourself in heavenly
word in the biblical sense.
Like, yes, it's great to readbooks, awesome, but the best and
only book that you really needis the Bible.
Anything outside of that isextra.

(17:14):
I love books, I have a lot ofthem.
I'm obsessed with learning, butthe best is the Bible and
biblical books are great, but goto the Bible, read these
scriptures and really, reallyrip them apart.
Get an understanding, get arhema word, get a word from
heaven, get straight from God,get revelation and telling you

(17:36):
you, like the Holy Spirit willconvict your heart in these
areas when you are honest andyou bring it to heaven or you
bring it to the foot of thecross.
Bring heaven to earth in thismoment and say God, holy Spirit,
jesus, search me and know meand know any evil way that is
within me, god, and show it tome.
Help me, father, be more likeyou, help me love, help my heart

(17:59):
to be compassion filled andthat I would see with your eyes
that I would not see from mypain, heal my heart of any pain,
because I tell you what, mygirlfriend, we see from where
our heart is.
And so if we have a heart ofpride, pain, unforgiveness,
bitterness, rejection, we'regoing to see those things

(18:20):
everywhere and we're going toaccuse and we're going to assume
and we're going to see it inpeople.
When somebody says somethingthat they really meant, as in a
loving posture, you're going totake it as rejection and that's
that is because of the eyes, theheart like.
Where your heart is, there youare and there you will see with

(18:42):
those eyes of rejection.
So let's ask the Holy Spirit tocome in and only only Holy
Spirit can break the trauma andall of those things that cause
the unforgiveness and the painfrom what somebody did to you.
God, search our hearts and knowour hearts, father, that you
would restore us in Jesus' name, restore us, transform us, god,

(19:04):
to your daughters that are soloved, that are so carried, that
are so accepted and soprotected by you.
Father.
God, I thank you for your wordand I pray that as we dig into
what sin is and really get intothis.
This is just the first layerand we're gonna continue this.
Also, stay tuned for lettersfrom God.

(19:26):
I'm going to show I'm gonnathrow in some bonus episodes in
between these episodes.
Because of our series ofsonship, we are after the
Father's heart.
We are after to know who God is.
He is a loving, yet powerful, mighty protector, and we want to
know Him, and so I'm going tothrow in some letters from God

(19:46):
from this amazing book that Ihave.
Every day there's a letter fromHim, so I could throw in a few
letters in between every episode.
So stay tuned for those lettersfrom God, as they are so
encouraging and uplifting.
I pray that this has beenencouraging to you.
I pray that you have openedyour eyes, have been opened to
something new today, that youwould be transformed in the

(20:08):
mighty name of Jesus and thatHoly Spirit would do what only
he can do in Jesus' name.
I love you.
I will see you in the next one.
If this was encouraging to youand you think she could use the
information in this episode,share it.
Share it with somebody.
Leave us a five-star review andlet me know what you think.
How has this touched your life.

(20:29):
Was this encouraging?
Could I make it better?
Could I do something that makesyour experience here with the
Think Cute podcast even better?
Know that you are soappreciated and loved.
I will see you in the nextepisode.
Go be transformed.
