Pastor Walt asks are we taking Scripture seriously? The Word of God is the only rule to direct us on how we can glory Him. To fear God and obey God is the whole duty of man. The Bible was taught differently in the early church than taught now … if taught at all. So, if the Bible is taught, what is the expectation of the listeners? In today’s church, there is no expectation of the listener, no expectation of transformation. The early church taught the Bible as an apprenticeship to the listener … the teaching and the doing. Today’s church may do the teaching, but does not do the doing.
