Sherry (00:00):
Hey, it's Sherry and Jodi.
Before we get into our nextfull episode, which will be
released next Saturday, may 3rd,we wanted to take a minute to
say thank you.
We've officially passed 412downloads, approaching 500, and
that honestly blows us away asnewbies to the podcast world.
So if you've listened, sharedor followed us, thank you Truly.

(00:21):
We feel the love.
We don't take your time orattention lightly, so it's very
much appreciated.
When we started this, our hopewas to create a place where you
can catch your breath, whilereminding you that there is
always a path forward, althoughit is sometimes hard to see.
And we want to pause and saysomething important as we begin

(00:44):
to tell our stories around here.
We don't compare pain or makeassumptions about anyone's story
.
We know that everyone iscarrying something, and we're
not about saying what you shouldfeel or what your life should
look like.
For some of us, being onautopilot might look like just

(01:05):
coasting through the day, whileit might also only be the way to
survive a hard season, and bothare valid.
We're not here to judge that.
We're just here to hold spacefor it and to find ways to
prevent overwhelm and movethrough it.
When you find yourself there, each person's perspective can

(01:25):
only come from their own livedexperiences.
Growth isn't always big orobvious.
Sometimes it's quiet, sometimesit's just showing up.
We're talking about little waysto keep going and growing
through all those seasons oflife when everything feels out
of control.

(01:46):
The way forward doesn't comefrom the noise and the chaos.
It comes from within, and withthat in mind, our episodes will
be telling stories about ourindividual journeys and little
helpful nuggets that we'vepicked up along the way, but
also through the stories ofinspiring people that are all
around you.
But also through the stories ofinspiring people that are all

(02:09):
around you.
Some stories feel like drivinga crumbling road where new
potholes are popping up left andright, and then there are the
ones that feel like a full-onsinkhole.
You don't see it coming, butyou suddenly find yourself deep
in it.
And then still, others arebuilt layer by layer and the
weight piles on layer by layer, and that might feel like

(02:36):
climbing Rialto Street in rollerskates with the case of Iron
City on your back.
Everyone's story matters, butwhat matters most is that we
always remember there is alwaysa way through.
If you haven't listened to ourintroductory episode or our
first full episode about movingbeyond bitterness when life is a
jag off.
Go back and check them outbefore the next one drops.
One of the best parts aboutpodcasts is that you can listen

(02:59):
anytime, anywhere, so if youmiss something, it's easy to go
back and catch up.
We're keeping it simple.
From here, our plan is fullepisodes every other Saturday,
with bonus episodes sprinkled inbetween, starting soon with
some awesome guests, and we'relooking for more inspiring
stories to share or perspectivesfrom those who help us through

(03:23):
them.
So reach out if you've got oneor you know someone, and now we
also want to hear from you.
We hope to build this with youas we go.
So what's resonating?
What do you want?
More of Any moments that stuckwith you?
You can DM us on Instagram, atTYPGHPOD, or leave a quick

(03:43):
rating and review wherever youlisten, drop us an email or fill
out our contact form.
It means more than you know.
All right, we'll be back nextSaturday with an episode about
what it means to live onautopilot and how to start
moving with intention.
Again, one small choice at atime.
Until then.
This is it, and we're in itwith you no-transcript.

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
