Officer Aaron Holyfield talks about what police officers need to know about type 1 diabetes. The best thing is to tell the officer that you're diabetic! Knowledge is the first line of care for us as diabetics. Throughout this interview, it was clear that the best way for diabetics to help police officers in the course of their duties is to inform them up front that we're type 1 diabetic.
