In this episode, Fatua is joined by her long time soul sister Breanna Shannon, who shares her story of what it was like to bring her son into the world, whose father is of the Machiguenga, a tribe native to the Peruvian Amazon rainforest.
Breanna discusses how she applied the concept of Amazonian plant dietas to her pregnancy, taking time to honor the connection with her growing baby in each trimester. She shares about her natural birth in a teepee, and the importance of incorporating the elements of nature, such as the sacred fire throughout her journey. Breanna has a beautiful way with words that paints the imagery in this story that weaves North and South American cultures in the creation of her son Sayre,' lovingly referred to as her "machigringo."
This recording occurred in the Amazon rainforest of Peru by candlelight, while Sayre' was sleeping, hence our low tone of voices amongst the wild sounds of the jungle night.

CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist
It’s 1996 in rural North Carolina, and an oddball crew makes history when they pull off America’s third largest cash heist. But it’s all downhill from there. Join host Johnny Knoxville as he unspools a wild and woolly tale about a group of regular ‘ol folks who risked it all for a chance at a better life. CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist answers the question: what would you do with 17.3 million dollars? The answer includes diamond rings, mansions, velvet Elvis paintings, plus a run for the border, murder-for-hire-plots, and FBI busts.
