What happens when movie obsession meets podcast dedication? A journey from basement recordings to approaching 200 episodes of cinematic conversations.

Looking back at nearly four years of podcasting, we laugh about our humble beginnings—passing a single microphone back and forth, recording in friends' basements, and overthinking every introduction. Those early technical struggles have evolved into a dedicated setup and growing audience, especially as our TikTok clips gain traction. Despite our full-time jobs limiting production time, our passion for watching and discussing films remains unwavering.

The streaming landscape has captured our attention lately, with one host deep into Stranger Things for the first time ("It's such binge worthy... I'm hooked") while the other eagerly discusses Peacemaker's return. We dive into Margaret Qualley's dark comedy "Honey Don't," dissecting everything from its disjointed plot and excessive sex scenes to the star-studded cast including Aubrey Plaza and Chris Evans. Sidney Sweeney's recent films "Eden" and "Americana" also get attention, with particular praise for Rod Howard's storytelling in "Eden" despite its limited theatrical promotion.

Our conversation detours through Chance the Rapper's impressive new album, Tarantino's future projects, and the universal frustration of sitting through increasingly lengthy pre-movie advertisements ("sometimes it is 40 minutes before they start playing the movie"). Through it all, our enthusiasm for cinema shines through—whether recommending underrated gems or analyzing industry trends.

Speaker 1 (00:05):
excuse me, is anybody sitting here?
Sorry, this is taken.
Sorry, do you see?
A straw hat goofy signed a dealwith uh, was it variety?
Or he signed a deal withsomebody recently that I was.
He's one of those guys.
I've seen that news.
My jaw dropped like, yes, goodfor him.
You know, I was so excited.
I don't know this guy at all,but I was so excited to see his

(00:25):
name pop up and like he signed adeal.
I want to see his variety.

Speaker 2 (00:29):
One of those interviewing um platforms yeah,
I did see that and, uh, similarto you, he was the first like
real dude I saw come up ontiktok.
Like I remember watching hisvideos when he was still getting
like you know a thousand views, like even.
Like I remember like a hundredk, I was like good for him.
And now it's like he's on redcarpets.
He was interviewing tom cruise,so yeah, to see that was uh

(00:52):
awesome.
I remember from when he lostnot lost when he left his job
and just going on this journey,so it's real inspired.

Speaker 1 (00:59):
I love seeing people win in life I remember that too,
and that was the part of thereason why I started this
podcast too, because I was likeI see people like, if they can
do it, I can do it too.
You know Granted, they do it alot better than I do.
This podcast dude we're comingup on episode 200 pretty soon.
I believe Crazy.
We're in the 180s right now,but 200 is coming up pretty soon

(01:21):
.
It's going to be four yearsnext year since I started this
podcast, dude.

Speaker 2 (01:25):
I remember the first time I saw your announcement I
genuinely got goosebumps out ofexcitement for you and obviously
we hadn't talked for a whilethen and I immediately hopped
into your DMs.
I was like I didn't know youwere a movie guy like that, so
it was super exciting.
And now you're my actual go-to,so it's crazy.

Speaker 1 (01:49):
I appreciate that.
You know, when I started thispodcast, I didn't tell anybody.
I told like two people maybethat I was going to do it and
then I just dropped the podcast, like the announcement and stuff
like that, and that's kind ofsuch a long way.
I I remember, like I did thefirst episode of my basement,
like, uh, like I I edited somuch and it still sounds kind of
like bad.
But, um, man, just overthinkingand like how I want to

(02:11):
introduce myself, like I want todo this thing.
And then, you know, like Istarted having guests on, like
immediately and, um, the firsthandful of episodes I didn't
even know how to record with twomicrophones, like we were
passing the microphone back andforth.
And then, uh, once I figuredthat out, my friend joey and
megan, who were part of thepodcast, they let me use their
basement for the longest timeuntil I got my own setup here in

(02:31):
my room.
Um, yeah, it's coming a long way.
It's coming a long way.
So it's a long way to go,though I think I like it.
I'm liking the traction, thefeedback we're getting from
tiktok.
Um, you know, eventually I'llget back into posting full
videos, but we talked about it.
It's just so time consuming andit's just awesome.
We both have full time jobs.
Yeah, on top of that, we'realways watching movies, though
always dude, I've been slackingon my streaming movie watching

(02:54):
lately.
How about you?

Speaker 2 (02:56):
I'm pretty good, but there's definitely like I was
scrolling the other day and Iwas like I have some big misses
what you got going on here youknow what the past few episodes
I've been talking about.

Speaker 1 (03:07):
Like I've been streaming a lot of TV shows
because I want to be moreinvolved.
I did see Peacemaker startedagain.
I haven't seen the firstepisode yet, but I've been going
through Stranger Things.
That's been my biggest watch.
Right now I'm a little bit morethan halfway through season one
.
I went in knowing pretty muchnot much about the show at all.
Like I knew it was set like inIndiana.
I said it was set in like inthe like eighties.

(03:27):
It's a bunch of kids and theonly thing I knew, which is from
pop culture, is just like that, that villain, like the alien
thing with a no face or whatever.
Other than that I didn't knowanything about it.
Like I knew I didn't know howit started.
It's such binge worthy Like youdon't want to stop.
Like it's it starts off withsuch a huge mystery, like a kid
goes missing the first.

(03:48):
Like well, I'm at like episodefive now, like the first five
episodes, trying to figure outwhat this kid's with.
You know it's, it's incredibleand like I'm, I'm hooked, I'm
hooked.
The new season starts November,I believe, and by then I'll
I'll definitely have it caughtup.

Speaker 2 (04:00):
I'll definitely have it caught up.
Yeah, november 22nd we'reactually in my real-world job.
We're doing a partnership withthem for their launch, so I'm
also excited, so it's going tobe really interesting for you.
Obviously, the big thing thatpeople talk about with Stranger
Things now is the time jumps ofhow long it takes them to make

(04:22):
these dang seasons.
I saw Millie Bobby Brown.
She just had a kid.
Time jumps of like how long ittakes them to make these dang
seasons like I saw um milliebobby brown she just had a kid
and it was like imagine likestarting a tv show, then like
growing up, getting married andhaving a kid before the fifth
season comes out, like and youstill have to pretend to be a
certain age, so it is uh, I meanto be fair.

Speaker 1 (04:41):
Well, she's like 20, 20, something like that, and
then she had a kid, but sheadopted that kid, if I'm not
mistaken too right.

Speaker 2 (04:49):
No, I think she adopted it.
Yeah, I think you're right.
I think she adopted it, don'tmatter, still crazy.

Speaker 1 (04:56):
Yeah, her acting's been crazy.
She's glued to Netflix so far.
She has that Enola Holmesseries.
Yeah, en, yeah, holmes thatterrible movie with uh, uh,
chris, uh chris pine, chrisevans sorry, uh, chris pratt
yeah, I haven't even seen thatyet.
I just kind of gave up on her, like I I knew she's from

(05:16):
stranger things and I'm lovingher in stranger things like
season one, and uh, she'ssomething.
Someone like I didn't reallycare for to keep up my radar, um
same thing her.

Speaker 2 (05:24):
Now you're gonna be, you're gonna be even more
entranced, so you got you havefour more seasons to go, buddy
yeah, that's the only thing.

Speaker 1 (05:32):
Each season's only like eight episodes.
I was like, okay, that's notthat bad, I can definitely
finish that up.
I've been seeing a lot of talkabout peacemaker season two.
Like I said, I haven't seen thefirst episode yet, but I'm
always already seen.
I wouldn't it spoilers, causeit's only the first episode,
like just Easter eggs thatthey've been towing around,
that's why I need you to hurryup you seen it already.

Speaker 2 (05:50):
We talked about this last episode too, like um, the
hype and excitement that we getfrom you know watching it week
to week, cause it's going to beon Thursdays now.

Speaker 1 (06:07):
So that's going to have to be your homework.
Man, you gotta, you have tostay up to date.
I promise you guys, next timewe'll talk about the first two
episodes, then, um, I've, I'vegone to the movies.
I just got back from the moviestoday to see eden.

Speaker 2 (06:14):
I don't know if you ever heard anything about eden I
just heard what everybody elsedid sydney, sweeney and anna day
on this.

Speaker 1 (06:21):
No, literally nothing else I didn't even hear that.
I just seen the.
When I was on my AMC I was justscrolling to see what movies I
could see because I had an openweekend.
And I saw Eden I was like, okay, I read the casting.
And I saw Sidney Sweeney I waslike, oh, okay, I just seen her
in.
Actually, there's another movie.
I saw, americana, which I'lltalk about that in a minute too.
So I saw want to read thedescription of what it was about

(06:51):
, so I went in there completelyblind.
It's a rod howard movie, firstof all too, and he does such a
great job storytelling in thismovie.
It's a stacked cast like umjude law, uh, the guy who plays
zemo from the civil war.
Um honor the armors, like yousaid, uh, sydney sweeney.
Um vanessa kirby, who was justin fantastic four.
She's a big part of this movieshe wasn't there either.
Yeah, yeah and um, so I inFantastic Four.
She's a big part of this movie.
Oh, wow, I didn't know she wasin there either.
Yeah, yeah, so I went in there.
No, it's a period piece.
For those who don't know, it'sset in the early 20s and it's

(07:12):
based loosely off a true story, like what happened and Galapagos
.
I don't know if I'm saying thatwrong or just getting that
completely.
Excuse me, but it's about likethis world war one, like we're
seeing the effects of world warone to take place, like we don't
even see that on america's side, though, we just know this
philosopher left america to golive on a secluded island by

(07:33):
himself and vanessa kirby'scharacter, who was there to like
study, you know, put in quotestudy like or make, make think
of a new version of the bible, almost with how they're talking
about it.
Um, vanessa kirby is there toget treatments because she's
sick, but they end up like doingit a lot the whole time, like
he swears it's not for pleasure, but uh, it's kind of crazy.
So then this new family movesinto town, they come up on a

(07:54):
boat and, um, this guy who'splayed by I want to call him
Zemo because I can't rememberhis name.
Um Zemo was a big fan of thephilosopher who lost.
He didn't even know he wasfamous because I guess the
newspapers have been trackinghim down like hey, like this guy
left and he's here buildingsociety.
So this guy inspired Zemo'scharacter to take his family and
his wife's place by SidneySweeney.
They have a son who's like ateenager and just drop

(08:17):
everything in America.
They figure this is better thanfucking living in the middle of
a cold war.
So they go and like they.
They literally set up camp likethat camp, like they live in a
cave for a little while.
But man, this guy's survivalskills is crazy.
Like he builds like a wholehouse like out of just regular.
He doesn't go into the menards,he's not going home depot, he
just builds a fucking house likeout of stone and shit.

(08:38):
It was crazy.
And then there's beef betweenthem about land, even though
this place is ginormous.
The philosopher has zerointerest in helping them in any
sort of way.
And then Ana de Almas comes in.
She takes over like she's queen.
Basically she's a highmaintenance kind of girl.
She tells you to do something, she expects you to do it, even
if you don't know her.

(08:58):
She comes with a crew andthey're all sabotaging each
other.
It's them just not being goodneighbors, even though you're on
a ginormous island, and thestorytelling is crazy.
Uh, sydney sweeney does givebirth in this movie.
Like it's crazy.
This is the most crazy.
This is a this.
I looked.
I was like, damn, did I justwalk into a horror movie?
It's labeled suspense and thisis probably the most suspenseful

(09:20):
suspenseful part for me, whenshe gives birth because she's by
herself.
There's no doctors or anythinglike, no medicine or anything
like that.
It is like a pack of wildwolves that are trying to get at
her while she's trying to givebirth to you.
It's, it was suspenseful, butthe whole movie it into.
Like, all right, I just spenttwo hours watching this.
For for what reason?

(09:40):
Like, but I wasn't disappointed.
It was good.
Storytelling was a good storyto tell.
Probably not like.
I didn't really care about this.
It was interesting, though II'm really happy I've seen it,
though, and I do recommend it topeople.
When it comes to streaming, Iwouldn't rush to go see it in
theaters.
I I think I posted tiktok todaylike, not tiktok um a story.
I was the only one in thetheater.
I think I was the only one atthe whole movie theater.

(10:02):
Brandon, really there were noother cars in the parking lot.
I thought they were closed.

Speaker 2 (10:07):
What time did you go?

Speaker 1 (10:08):
12, like 12.15.

Speaker 2 (10:11):
Ah, people at church.

Speaker 1 (10:12):
Dude, this is another beef about that.
12.15 was the starting time.
Yeah, obviously AMC now listslike hey, just so you know it's
25 to 30 minutes after thestarting time, just so they can
do it Before to 30 minutes afterthe starting time, just so they
can do it.
Before it was only 20 minutes.
The trailers were only 20minutes.
I remember I used to alwaystime it out it was 20 minutes,
but now, since they startedputting the Lauren label up,

(10:33):
it's like oh, we can start themovie whenever we want it.
Brandon, I kid you not.
Sometimes it is 40 minutesbefore they start to play in the
movie.

Speaker 2 (10:40):
Buddy, I'm trying to keep my blood pressure low.
This is a topic that I willrant about if you give me a
podium, so I could not agreemore.
I remember when it was 20minutes.
I remember when it was 23minutes and I taught my niece
that when I lived in Texas andit was like her fun fact.
Last time, last big movie Iwent to maybe I think actually

(11:03):
it was F1.
I was sitting there because Igot to the movie theater early
on accident.
It took 31 minutes and I waseating.
I I was.
Thankfully, that movie was goodbecause it put me in the worst
mood of my life.
It is I'm paying to go to themovie like what are you doing?
Why are you adding 18 differentadvertisements?
I'm already here, I'll get madagain it sucks really.

Speaker 1 (11:22):
Like f1 was almost a three-hour movie.
On top of that, like so you'rethere for like probably three
and a half hours just sitting inthe theater.
That's insane.
That's absolutely ridiculous.
I get it Like yeah, like weknow the time starts later so we
can really show up later if wewanted to, but like no, like you
know, it's annoying.

(11:43):
It's annoying like I.
I don't mind the trailersbecause I like seeing trailers
before then, but I'm tired ofseeing all the dumb commercials.
Like like I.
I always said like it's sostupid they have a commercial
for amc while you're sitting atamc yeah, yeah, same thing.

Speaker 2 (11:56):
I'll bounce between that and cinemark and like at
least when amc was nicole kidmanand the heartbreak feels good
in a place like this, so I'dmake fun of it.
You know like get it on.
But then there's like somethingafter that.
Now, like same thing with like,uh, cinemark, there's a pepsi
or coke commercial.
I'm like why just it's gottenout of control.

Speaker 1 (12:15):
They need to reign it in because I did go to the
movies the other day and inbetween the trailers there was a
google phone commercial.
I was like it's like no onesaid nothing about it.
That's weird.
In the trailers, like thecommercials are done, it's.
It's annoying to sit throughand, um, we, you know, it's just
something we got to do.
I don't even like getting up Iknow we talked about.
I don't like going to thewashroom or getting concessions

(12:37):
in the middle of the movie.
I don't even like doing thatfor the trailers, because I do
like watching the trailersbecause we go so much.

Speaker 2 (12:46):
Thankfully, like the same trailers get rotated, like
when we have months like thiswhere we just are going back to
back.
So it is about, and I'll tellyou, man, I'm not showing up for
the 30 minutes.
I can't remember the last timeI did that the movie starts at 7
and I know that I'll like itwill probably start at 7 28
nowadays I will.
I will get there at 7.25 andsit my happy self down and still

(13:08):
wait.
But even that just gets undermy skin.
But it did burn me once, Ithink I told you I went to that
Superman premiere and I gotthere early and I walked in
there like yeah, for this onethere's only three trailers.
So it already started.
I was like what?
I mean, I was like 45 secondslate, but that's why I had to go
re-watch it, because I was likewhat did I miss?

(13:30):
I was so upset so they just needto do better at like letting us
know yeah, and the events?

Speaker 1 (13:37):
they don't have trailers, and I'm thinking like
all the anime movies that comeup on, uh, they don't have
trailers or any commercials thatcome up before them, which I
love that, um, did you seeSpider-Man's coming back to
theaters?
Tobey Maguire, spider-man onethrough three with extended
footage.

Speaker 2 (13:49):
I didn't know.
I thought just the first one.
So that's.
Oh my God.
Yeah, I was just probablyleaving on the third one, but
I'll be excited for one or two, especially two.

Speaker 1 (14:00):
Yeah, I mean I, yeah, I mean I'm really proud of all
of them.
Like, honestly, we've beentalking a lot of spot on man
updates and there's just moreand more that keeps coming every
single day.
Uh, there's another tiktoker.
I'm sure you've seen him, Ican't remember his name.
He's a.
He's a wide mouth.
I'm gonna sling back hair.
It's like you know what wegotta do.
We gotta talk about it.

Speaker 2 (14:14):
Oh, yeah, it's my list.
I came this dude.

Speaker 1 (14:18):
He's like posting hell of spider-man updates daily
.

Speaker 2 (14:22):
I was like jeez louise he found the thing that,
uh, he can plant his flag into, you know yeah, yeah, I mean,
that's why it's so hard to be acontent creator.

Speaker 1 (14:32):
Like you got to be on top of the stuff like that,
like dude, like I'm, like I toldyou I can't even see peacemaker
.
Yeah, um, I did go seeamericana.
So before we get in our moviereview, we're going to be doing
a movie honeydew.
I forgot to mention that.
Um, before we get into thatmovie, I did go see Americana.
So before we get in our moviereview, we're going to be doing
a movie honeydew.
I forgot to mention that Beforewe get into that movie, I did
go see Americana in theaters.
That's another Sydney Sweeneymovie.
That's another one too.

(14:52):
Like I went in there knowingnothing.
I kind of like doing that nowCause it makes I hate going
there trying to put it togethermyself.
Gonna happen.
Um, but this just came outcindy sweeney, paul walter
heiser, paul walter heiser, walter heiser, who's having a
him, and cindy sweeney arehaving a huge year, like in
movies coming out this yearthey're in front of our eyes,

(15:14):
outside I thought this wouldtake place in like uh, same
thing like in the early days, like that it's.
it's modern time, they all havestuff like that.
Um, paul walter heisen hauseris the fucking love interest for
cindy sweeney.
I was like good for in theearly days and stuff like that.
It's modern time, they all hadcell phones and stuff like that.
Paul Walter Heisenhauser is thefucking love interest for
Sidney Sweeney.
I was like good for you, dude, good for you.
I did not see that coming Goodfor the man.
Yeah, this one.

(15:35):
It's another story where yousee several different people's
views of the whole thing.
That's going down um sydney.
Sweeney plays a waitress whomeets up with this guy who's
just a simpleton really tryingto find love.
Paul walter heiser hauser endsup asking her out.
After they find out there'sgoing to be some money.

(15:56):
Someone stole this indianchief's old jacket from way back
like 100 years ago and they'regoing to go try to steal it from
some indians or it's a wholething.
I don't even want to get intoit because it's hard for me to
explain.
It was definitely worth seeingthis one might be worth seeing
at home.
I wouldn't bother the theaters, though, but it was only because
it was in the theaters.
I was going to be able to sitdown and focus it, though,
otherwise, when I watch it athome I probably wouldn't care

(16:16):
for it.

Speaker 2 (16:25):
Fair enough.
What have you seen anything newrecently?
Um, just the peacemaker.
Uh, obviously it was reallyhyped about that.
I think I told you I was uhhella behind on, uh, the last of
them.
I just kind of stopped in themiddle of season two, um, so I
finally picked that one back up.
Um, as well as, like, I alwayshave like one tv show that's old
that I like watching.
So, uh, it's not really old,but swat, like it's just that
procedural, you know, 23 episodeshow like.

(16:46):
So I I'm deep in my binge ofthat.
Those are like my three onrotation right now okay, okay,
not bad.

Speaker 1 (16:54):
Uh, I would say, if I'm not watching stranger things
, well, that's actually nevermind.

Speaker 2 (17:01):
That's the only thing I'm watching, thinking about it
, I mean, like when I in theback time, man, because, uh, we
only have like three more weeksuntil all.
I don't know if you're anetwork tv guy, but the fall
season's about to start.

Speaker 1 (17:13):
Like all my all my shows are about to come back
online no, actually, no, no, I'mnot in this, like that stuff
like that.
You know, like if the shows Ido watch, like the show
currently my background show allthe time is super store, like I
love sitcoms like that, whereit's just goofy comedies you
know, like the office likethat's how many shows, stuff

(17:34):
like that, um, but as far aslike dramas like that, I do,
like that stuff is on my radar, like SWAT and all that, like I
do know about it and I like I doit does seem interesting, I can
see the appeal there, but I,you, you will not catch me there
Just waiting for that show tocome on.

Speaker 2 (17:51):
Dude, chicago fire, chicago PD.
Grey's anatomy Like I will be.
I have a show every day of theweek.
What's tomorrow is the LoveIsland reunion for the new
season, so I'll be watching thatone.
I don't know, I got theweirdest taste, man um, a little

(18:14):
bit off of movies real quick.

Speaker 1 (18:15):
Uh, I just wanted to bring this up because I've been
checking out all day.
Today is chance the rapper'snew album.
How do you feel about that?

Speaker 2 (18:22):
are you giving me a chance to talk about the rapper
listen?
What did you think of the album?

Speaker 1 (18:29):
I.
I liked it.
It was a lot better than thislast album.
Um, I listened to it once real, real quick and I didn't really
care for it because I'll listento like seven in the morning at
work when it dropped um, but mysister bought us tickets to go
see him in november or october.
I'm sorry and I was like allright, I'll give it another
chance.
So I've been listening to itnon-stop, trying to like fall in
love with it before I see him,and it is catchy, it is good.

(18:50):
Uh, he does have a ton.
I don't think he has a solosong by himself.

Speaker 2 (18:54):
He all has these bands or other rappers on there,
but it's dope yeah and um, Ithink it originally was supposed
to be a collab album.
I think he only has one um, buthe also has like a lot of
different, not just features, but like samples of other, like
songs.
You know old school stuff inthere.
Um, dude, I love it.
Dude, I absolutely love it.

(19:15):
I, similar to you, I want.
I listened to it at like 2 am.
Like I just happened to be upand I saw it drop and I said,
well, this is my life now.
I only got like five songs inand I'll tell you you know what
initially happens is.
I was disappointed at firstbecause I literally, you know,
I'm thinking there's going to bebangers, like old chants, like

(19:42):
bangers.
There's like one or two.
But I was like, oh man, but oneof the songs right before I
went to bed like kind of juststuck in my brain.
So I woke up I was like, yeah, let me throw this back on and
it's all I listen to right now.
Like I have highs and lows, banger, um, and then, uh, um,
space and no, what is it?
I think it's space and time, um, those two back to back like
just put me in a sad but goodmood.
Like it like breaks, then healsme in the in the three minutes
that it's on um.
So I'm just happy, like, obviously he, this is his

(20:06):
journey.
You know he's in a real, realweird place.
He, you know, going throughdivorce but he got back in the
lab, you know.
So never really want to wish, wish a hard time on anybody, but
he clearly rode himself throughit and is currently helping
himself out.
He needed a win and I'm gladthat at least overall people are

(20:27):
very receptive of the album.

Speaker 1 (20:29):
Oh, I agree I think it is becoming popular.
But, like you said, I was thesame way a little bit
disappointed because I wasexpecting something like Acid
Drop or something similar, likethere's an old, old chance this
one.
No, no, it's definitely moreartsy.
I would say, like he definitelyis trying to get a point across
through some of his music.
Um, it is good, it is good,it's good to listen through,

(20:51):
like listen to.
I would suggest listening to itby yourself, just headphones on
, just chilling on the couchdoing nothing, just so you can
really listen to it and thenfall in love with it.

Speaker 2 (20:59):
Um, it's not really one.

Speaker 1 (21:01):
I got to be I don't think it's one.
I could see myself like, oh,I'm chilling with the guys.
I thought I'm gonna put this on.

Speaker 2 (21:07):
You know, like it's there's like one or two songs
that I like know that will be ina club like not the whole song,
but like there's definitelyparts.
I was like like all right, that's going to go.
But yeah, this is a song that Iwas sitting down on the couch
like headphones and just vibing.
Let it, let it take you andyou'll be all right.

Speaker 1 (21:26):
Yeah, like I said, I'm supposed to go see him in
October and I'm just curious.
I've been thinking all day likedamn is heads like he has to
right.

Speaker 2 (21:41):
Yeah, especially because I saw him during the
middle of his last album, dropum, and he did obviously like
I'd say it's like 50, 50, like alot of it is that.
But he's not leaving withoutplaying ultralight beam.
You know what I mean, angels, you know.
So those will, uh, those willbe on the rotation for you.

Speaker 1 (21:54):
Well, on top of that, he's playing.
I'm seeing him play in chicagotoo, so I'm expecting big things
for that yeah, yeah, I'mexcited, man, yeah um, I think
it's time to get in the moviehoney, don't, honey, don't, uh,
starring margaret kweli, kweli, kweli, I don't know how to say
it.
Margaret kweli, she's having abig year.
She's I love, I get excited.

(22:16):
She's one of the actresses Iget so excited to when I see
anything coming up.
Really, she's so talented.
Let me see, let me look up herresume real quick.

Speaker 2 (22:23):
Once upon a time in Hollywood.

Speaker 1 (22:25):
Once upon a time in Hollywood.
She was just recently in HappyGilmore 2.
We talked about her in there, blue Moon.
The Substance was a big one.
Uh, drive away dolls.
Uh, poor things.
Stars at noon made you know.
She's been in a good handful ofthings already.
She's so young too.

Speaker 2 (22:43):
I think she's our age , if I'm not mistaken.
Yeah, yeah, she's.
Yeah, I'd actually look that upbecause I was in love with her,
so yeah, and I said yes there'sa chance.

Speaker 1 (22:54):
There's a chance that this ala celebrity is gonna
come down that's my story andI'm sticking to it okay, she is
great and everything she does.
She definitely lays it all outthere on the screen when she's
performing um, I don't thinkthere's a role she can't do
really.
Like I'm gonna when we talkabout this actual plot.
Like I didn't care for the plotreally, nor did I care for the

(23:18):
editing a lot, but what kept ittogether for me was the acting,
not just from her, from everyonein this movie.
I was thrilled with theperformances of everything.
Um, like so the plot was alittle bit, I wouldn't say lazy,
but like there were somestrings that like you just
didn't follow up on, like it waskind of random, some stuff and,
um, yeah, editing was verychoppy, like it's something I

(23:40):
was like, oh, it almost seemslike a college student kind of
editing to me a little bit.
And for those who know before Ican keep going any further.
For those who don't know, it'sa dark comedy about a small town
private investigator, honey oh,who delves into a series of
strange deaths tied to amysterious church.
First of all, I was alsosurprised to see all these

(24:05):
celebrities in this movie,margaret.

Speaker 2 (24:07):
Qualley.

Speaker 1 (24:09):
Aubrey Plaza, chris Evans.
I was mad about this cameobecause they made a big deal of
it.
They made it seem like he waspart of the cast.
But Billy Eichner I was like hewas like of the cast.
But Billy Eichner I was like hewas like the third one listed
in the credits.
I was like he was in there forlike 45 seconds.

Speaker 2 (24:24):
They know the audience.
Listen, you gotta appeal toyour audience.

Speaker 1 (24:28):
And for his character not even to be anything at all,
you could have cut him out.
You could have cut him out.
We don't even get to see her doan investigating for that, for
his character.
Because, like, I think I wouldlike to see that him like, okay,
at least following her, thisguy she's paid him to hire
because, like, okay, we can seea little bit of her other work

(24:49):
too and see how she really worksand gets investigating, uh, but
no, no, you could have cut hiswhole scenes out and it would
have made a difference at all.
Um, theater experience first ofall.
Like, I went opening nights.
It was a good handful of people.
It was only shown at onetheater instead of all three,
which is kind of weird to me.
Um, it was the marvel, one ortwo at that.
Um, oh, okay, I liked it.

(25:13):
The.
I had a fun time with thetheater.
They were very laughing andreceptive of this movie.
Everyone seemed like a goodtime.
It wasn't packed, it was like agood handful of people.
Though how about you?

Speaker 2 (25:22):
Yeah, very similar Handful, maybe a third, you know
.
So we were pretty spaced out,but this is obviously the crowd
that really wanted to see it, sothey were very receptive to all
.
Like the big moments, like thecouple next to me was just
cracking up.

Speaker 1 (25:36):
you know which is which is a-okay I went to the
movie theater to go see this bymyself, without knowing too much
.
I obviously been seeing thetrailer for a long time and then
, just like leaving the movietheaters, I was sitting down by
myself.
I felt like a creep becauselike, oh, this movie is a lot
more sex scenes than I wasexpecting.
Like it was this movie's onlyan hour 28 minutes long.

(25:59):
I would say there's a full 28minutes worth of sex in this
movie.

Speaker 2 (26:04):
Yeah, and it's some like intenseness, like I think
it starts off and there's like anip slip and you're like ooh,
risque.
And then, you're like oh no,they're okay.
Wow, we are Like, they're okay, wow we're like they're still
going.

Speaker 1 (26:16):
We're just doing the thing today yeah, yeah, we'll
get to those scenes in a minute.
But like this movie opens up,everything was cliche in this
movie too.
Like opens up on a car flippedover in the middle of the desert
, someone comes, walks in onscreen and they end up stealing
something from this dead corpseand they take out driving.
Like this is like another oneof those movies like it's

(26:36):
they're told differentperspectives.
Margo crowley is listed as thelead actor in this movie, but I
feel like it's not just her, like there's several leads in
this movie too.
You know you have audrey posley, you have chris evans.
You know, following theirstories in this movie, like
there was no one specific star, which is a shame, because I do
love, uh honey.
So honey o'donnell's charactera lot.

(26:59):
I like the way she plays her.
She's very like, cut to it,really kind of person she.
She did great with hercharacter.
Chris evans was cool, but likeI felt like his ending of the
movie was unjustice, like itdidn't tie in that well her
story to honey's story it was.
Yeah, he's a part of thischurch, but like I would like to

(27:19):
learn more about the church.
Like how long has this beengoing on?
Who are you working for reallylike, how big is this operation?
You know?
Because they all, their fuckingguys, get killed in this movie.
I feel like another person who Ididn't care for in this movie,
which is shocking to say, ischarlie day really yeah, because
every time he talks now thatwas actually cracking me up,

(27:40):
because I don't know what thehell he was doing.
Yeah, he didn't either.
Every time he saw her he waslike well, what do we have here?
Honey O'Donoghue?
Every single time, but everytime this man talks now I'm only
hearing Luigi.

Speaker 2 (27:56):
It felt like he was in a different movie, for sure,
but I I almost like appreciatedthat yeah, he was goofy for no
reason.

Speaker 1 (28:05):
This movie didn't he?
was so goofy this really him.
And chris evans were goofy too, but, yeah, their characters
didn't even cross.
Like charlie dave, he wasanother one.
He didn't really have anythingto do with this movie.
Like he, they could have castedanybody in this movie and saved
themselves some of the budget.
Yeah, um, because I'm sure he'strying to charge an armor, like
to be in this cameo big hittersnames, um, so anyways, they've

(28:28):
they're.
They have common interestbetween this missing person a
little bit.
You also get a random sidestory too, of honey's sister and
her family too.
This movie is nothing but justrandomness that just somehow
barely, barely, barely tiestogether and then, like her, her
niece gets beaten up by herboyfriend and she ends up

(28:50):
running to her grandfather, which is the most randomest
thing it was very crazy he goes,he stayed.
He goes to her job and stares ather and then he meets her at
the bus stop and the first thinghe says, I love you.
Of course I want to go running.
And I was so pissed.
When he goes to Honey's house,I was like yeah, I don't know

(29:11):
why she ran away.
I was like what do you mean?

Speaker 2 (29:17):
you know what you did .
Dude and also shame on that busdriver.
You ain't, you ain't peep thesketchy ass situation going on
there yeah open up the back ofthe bus, for you know that was.

Speaker 1 (29:28):
That was strange that's what I thought too.
She was gonna go through theback or something.
No, she never did it.
Um, we can talk about audreyplaza, because man, oh man, I
have no reason.
I went to go see.
This movie was for her aloneyeah and you don't?
I don't think.
In the trailers you don't evensee her.
The only thing you see her inthe trailers is behind the
counter.
So I thought she was reallygoing to be a small part in this

(29:49):
movie, but no, she was likehalf of the movie, which is
great.
I'm glad to see her.
You do see her and margarethave sex like three or four
times in this movie, and notjust like kissing or like
feeling at each other.
You see like nudity in thismovie from both of them.
I remember thinking in themovies like why you guys don't

(30:10):
have to do this.
You're huge celebrities.
You do not have to show theskin if you don't want to.
I'm not complaining, but I waslike I'm surprised they did this
really yeah, no, this was againtheir intro at the bar.

Speaker 2 (30:23):
I was like I started that's what I'm like looking
around, bro, I'm not supposed tobe watching this.
I knew there was going to besome sex.
I knew you don't put like arborplaza even in like the uh promo
.
They doing it's really hammingup the.
They were doing like a lot ofthe women on women, like this is
that type of story.
So I kind of like expected it.

(30:44):
I just didn't expect the levelthey were going to.
I was like, oh, people arehappy, like people in my theater
.
They knew what they came to seeand it was a really interesting
thing, similar to where aubreyplaza obviously is in life in
her career.
Like I think that was kind ofthe thing.
I think she just wanted to dosomething that she found fun or
interesting and just didn't givea fuck.

(31:06):
After that, like she was like, yeah, I'll, oh, I get to make
out with uh, uh, margaret.
Like hell, yeah, let's go, dude.
So it was, uh, that wasinteresting to see yeah, I mean
this movie.

Speaker 1 (31:17):
I think it's considered a part of a trilogy
too.
Now that you said like alesbian trilogy from this
writers uh, the driveway dollswas the first one, which also
started Margaret Qualley andthis one, and I don't know what
the next one is going to beabout, but they are looking
leaning to like a lesbiantrilogy with this, Just because

(31:41):
you see um, um, uh.

Speaker 2 (31:42):
What's the name?
Love lives bleeding.
Yes, it reminded me a lot ofthat too.
Okay, that's where I was, likethat was my measuring stick for
this movie, but I was thinkingabout that.

Speaker 1 (31:46):
I was like love lies bleeding.
That was an a24 movie and I Ilook, I thought this was an a24
movie, but it's not.
I guess it's it's.
Uh, I think paramount, if I'mnot mistaken yeah, I thought it
was like neonon myself.

Speaker 2 (31:57):
I was like, oh, this is obviously some small indie
budget.
Like, hell yeah, rah, rah, major distributor.
I think I'm right.

Speaker 1 (32:07):
It was shot in a small town.
There's totally like six orseven sets in this whole movie
which I kind of like.
That gives a small feel.
Like I said, I wish they didmore with a church.
Chris Evans was hilarious.
You see him have sex in thismovie too.

Speaker 2 (32:21):
Yes, you do.
That's his, that's his wholecharacter development.
Is him having sex?

Speaker 1 (32:27):
Dude.
He tries to get away from thecaptain America role so much
that he I feel like he alwaysonly tries to play the villain.

Speaker 2 (32:34):
Now I think, um, I I think because he was so
well-received in Knives Out asjust that asshole that they want
to recreate something like thatand honestly I don't know what
to do.
I don't know the next role forhim, but this is obviously
something that he's comfortablein.
We just saw him in theMaterialist, where he's still

(32:59):
kind of of an asshole but he'sdown on his luck.

Speaker 1 (33:00):
Like we just see the same version of the character
either hammed up or you know, same thing with Red One within
this past year.
Yeah, I mean, of course I'malways going to bring up Scott
Pilgrim.
Saves the world with theeyebrows.
Yeah, he was interesting inthis role, like he's.
It also reminded me of um bjnovak's movie, um vengeance.

(33:23):
Have you seen that one?
oh my god, yeah it kind of likethat priest definitely reminds
me of, like ashton kutcher'scharacter a little bit in this
movie.
Um, but man, like I mean, itmakes it right that he's
sleeping with average girlsbecause, like this chris evans,
like you know, good for thoseactresses, too, like who could
say that they's sleeping withaverage girls because it's Chris
Evans.
Good for those actresses, too,who could say that they were
sleeping with Chris Evans, butit was somebody you would not

(33:43):
picture him sleeping with.

Speaker 2 (33:46):
I think that's what added to his character, not that
they were average, but it wasjust the fact that they were
just these normal girls thatwere needing help, and he took
full advantage.

Speaker 1 (33:58):
And the victim's girl the girl, the first one her
parents in this movie were likeI don't know, they were kind of
stupid in this movie, like theydid not really give a fuck at
all that their kid, their kid, died.
Um, this movie does make youlaugh out loud.
There are moments like we'relike, oh, look away, because
it's so queasy, like the, likethe iron to the face was insane.
There are a couple creepymovies but, like I said, it's a

(34:22):
fun watch if, especially if, youlove, like, loves, like
bleeding, uh, driveaways, dolls,it gives off those same vibe,
vengeance it gives all thosesame vibes.
So if you enjoy those, thosethree movies, I think you'll
really enjoy this one.
To me, like, I probably wouldwait a long while to stream this
again, but now that you broughtup like love lies bleeding, I
do want to go back and re-watchthat because it was pretty

(34:42):
decent.
So I don't know, I think thismovie might be a little bit
ahead of its time.
Same thing with margaret.
I don't think she has that onerole that like is gonna take her
to the next level quite yet.
She does great with everythingshe does so far, but I need her
associated with one bigcharacter, at least so far.

Speaker 2 (35:00):
Yeah, it's definitely trying to move her into
mainstream, because obviouslythat was the joke I made when I
had to go more Oscar-nominatedand she did that with the
Substance.
But people like me, I'm notwatching that.
So I heard she did great andI'm like hell, yeah, I think she
needs that role.
I'm like hell, yeah, I thinkshe needs.
I mean, she needs, like thatrole.

(35:21):
It actually reminded me of andI'm blanking on her name right
now but the gal who did Anorayou know we have these
up-and-coming like.
Obviously she has to mentionherself as an up-and-comer
actress, right, she's in theclass that we named, like the
people to watch everyone fromlike 26 to 34.
There's a nice good group thatwe got here.

(35:41):
So I'm really excited thatshe's just getting more
opportunities under her belt, branching out a little bit more
and we'll see what she does next.

Speaker 1 (35:49):
She is someone I don't see stooping down to
superhero level to do asuperhero role.

Speaker 2 (35:54):
Stooping down.
What are you saying to me,right?

Speaker 1 (35:57):
now.

Speaker 2 (35:57):
Rob, what are you saying to me right now?
What are you saying stoopingdown?
Go say that to Chris.
We just talked about this.
You're killing me stooping down.
I don't see her so you thinkthat if she's offered a million
dollar contract for a major role, you think she's just going to

(36:18):
be like no, I'm too good for it?

Speaker 1 (36:21):
kind of crazy because that's like famous, like uh,
quote that leonardo the capriotold timothy chamblee.
He came on so like, like, don'tdo superheroes, like don't do
that stuff was on me.
If it's leonardo leonardo thecaprio standard, I can see
you're having a like a bigcareer like him.
I don't know, I don't know Imight be talking crazy.
She might come out and be jeangray, who knows?
Or um, rogue rogue yeah, I'veseen a couple.

Speaker 2 (36:45):
If they didn't offer a rogue.
Stop it right now.

Speaker 1 (36:50):
Stop right now that'll be a fun game.
Well, next episode we'll do agame like casting the x-men yeah
, this that's, that's the oh manit's.

Speaker 2 (37:01):
I just think of like obviously we have people in here
like tom holl and of coursehe's still trying to break into,
you know, get that serious role.
But we just talked about he'steaming up with Nolan right now.
That doesn't happen withoutSpider-Man.
You're not stupid down ifyou're.
If you're making a billiondollars at the box office, you
know.

Speaker 1 (37:20):
Yeah, but then you look at the.
What's the movie with him andMark Wahlberg that video game
movie?
What's that movie with him andMark Wahlberg that video game?

Speaker 2 (37:25):
movie Uncharted.
He's stooped down, thank you,to do a little video game
franchise movie.
That's a decision that he made.

Speaker 1 (37:35):
Also that movie Cherry didn't do well at all.

Speaker 2 (37:38):
Movie's, trash Movie's trash.

Speaker 1 (37:39):
It wasn't trash, it was interesting.
You know what movie on Apple TV?
This is going off the topiclike it's super underrated that
I wish more people talk about.
It's zach efron's movie um thegreatest beer run ever, the
greatest beer run dude watchedit for the first time this year.

Speaker 2 (37:53):
Really, uh was pleasantly surprised it's good.

Speaker 1 (37:57):
It's so good.
I wish more.
I wish that one got atheatrical release almost yeah,
who's that with them?

Speaker 2 (38:01):
russell crowe right.

Speaker 1 (38:02):
Yes.

Speaker 2 (38:03):
Yeah, yeah, that movie slaps.
It was actually a really funone.

Speaker 1 (38:07):
Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 2 (38:09):
But no, you're absolutely right.
Overall like that was mysummation of this movie is I
walked out of the theater, dude, and I was like this movie feels
like it's a season finale of aTV show I didn't watch and I
don't know how else to describeit, because there are so many
things that happen in it thatare dope or fun or cool or hot

(38:31):
and I'm like hell yeah, but theyhave nothing to do with each
other.
Like this movie is all over theplace.
It's a whole bunch of randomscenes like that do not go
anywhere.
Or when they're resolved, you're like oh, that's it,

(39:06):
no-transcript schedule, so theydid it and I can't recommend
like a movie like that as as amust watch.

Speaker 1 (39:16):
So, similar to you, I'm like um, I'm at least go
watch it if this is like whatyou're interested in, but if
you're, if you're on the fence,it can absolutely wait till the
streaming I mean, this is one ofthe movies if you think long
about it or not, there's a lotof plot holes because, like the
cops really didn't do shit inthis whole movie, she's not a
cop, oh um.
Honey is not a cop, she's justa private investigator.

(39:38):
And it's such a small, smalltown, of course it's easy to be
an investigator there, like youknow.

Speaker 2 (39:44):
Like it's like five blocks, I feel like and I think
that was like my issue too.
Yeah, the cops have no role inthis no it wasn't even like real
information.
She was getting it from, youknow, either intuition or like
right in front of her, like thebilly eichner thing.
I was like all right, so hejust happens to be the guy that
was dating the dude at the bar.

Speaker 1 (40:02):
Like shut that up, like it's just weird stuff, like
that man um and there's likemultiple deaths in this movie
too, like people do go missingand like just me, that's the
cops.
Like don't put, can't put twoand two together.
I was like come on, no come on,I'm not doing anything.
That police station was empty ashell, with just random people
every time you see charlie daysleaned up against the wall or
something like only fitting.

(40:24):
That was funny.
That was funny to see him hiton her constantly after she
tells him she's a lesbian.
He was not taking that for ananswer.
No, no he always say that hecalls.
She calls him back.
It's okay, let me call you back.
What's your cell phone number?
I was like jeez louise guy Ilove.

Speaker 2 (40:41):
I love a guy who's persistent.
But I know a lot of my friends, especially in that community,
were really excited about thisand that was just my sentiment
towards them.
There's definitely a lot ofgreat representation in here and
the humor works, but overallthis movie.
The best thing about this movieis that it's an hour and a half
.
Yeah, I promise you, if it was10 minutes longer I would have

(41:05):
been in bad mood about it, butbecause it was quick, I was just
like that happened.
You know, I had the rest of myday, so exactly.

Speaker 1 (41:12):
Yeah, I think I went to go see the seven o'clock
showing.
I was probably out there likeeight, close to nine because of
the fucking trailers, but uh, Ifelt pretty good.
I felt pretty good at watchingit and uh, like I said, the
plot's not that hard, Iunderstand.
No, it's, it's a fun watch,interesting watch.
If you like leslie minn suckslike you're gonna love this
movie because that's a ton of itin this movie there is a.

Speaker 2 (41:32):
They don't hold nothing back yeah, no at all,
they said, and they'll.
They got graphic like if theyweren't showing it.
They were talking about it.
They were not shy.
The one small nitpick I have isso niche to me.
I'm a big old, big fan ofgetting the title card when I'm
at the movie theater.
It's just like this thing thatI do now and this was the

(41:53):
longest intro, Rob but they justkept like they did really cool
with like painting the murals ofpeople's names and like all
that was on there.
And when that was over, I tookmy phone out and it was like all
right, executive producer andset designer had all the credits
up front and then, like thetitle card was basic, it was a
license plate so like I missed.
I was so angry that they hadthis two minute intro and gave

(42:16):
me a half a second scene for thetitle card movie.
Stop doing that.

Speaker 1 (42:19):
We need to get back to where it's up front okay,
after saying that, like honeydon't, I don't like the title
now for this movie, I was likeno one tells her don't in this
movie, you know don't do whatlike.
That's what I mean yeah, yeah,I like the idea of using honey
as like an adjective too, buthoney don't like.

(42:41):
No one says that in this movie.
It's I don't know.
They could have come up with away better title Also now you
got me thinking about it more.

Speaker 2 (42:48):
There's two specific scenes in this movie where a
character gets injured and I'mlike you're going to die in the
next five minutes and they makeit across town to do something
crazy, or they just go on andI'm just like huh yeah.

Speaker 1 (43:07):
Like the Mexican who's doing laundry and his
abuela gets taken out.
He made it all the way home,Ain't no way?
That was a funny scene withChris Evans and that goon who
was like when they were goingback and forth almost had a
miscommunication about killingthe bartender.

Speaker 2 (43:17):
That was an actual funny.
There's so much good stuff inthis that I'm just like three
seconds away from being like inthe.
Uh, just a cult following, butuh, it doesn't stick the landing
for me.
That's the best way I can sayit.

Speaker 1 (43:35):
I would like to see the origins for the church, a
little bit at least.

Speaker 2 (43:39):
Tell you, man yeah.

Speaker 1 (43:40):
You know, um dude, it really irked me that I just
didn't have any closure.
What?

Speaker 2 (43:44):
would you give this one Dude?
It really irked me that I justdidn't have any closure in this
movie.
I think I'd probably give it agenerous six yeah.

Speaker 1 (43:57):
And it's so hard to give it that just because of the
cast.
So much you know.
But it's a six I'm rooting foreverybody in this.

Speaker 2 (44:04):
Everybody else in here, bravo Y'.
Everybody else in here, bravoy'all.
Did the best of what y'all hadlove to see it.

Speaker 1 (44:09):
Go do something real now, you know but like I think
this movie is only on our radarbecause we go to the movie so
much like I don't see a wholelot of press, I don't see a lot
of interviews with us.
Same thing with americana and,um, the movie just seen today,
eden, simmy sweeney's in both ofthose.
Like I have not heard about anyof those movies before.
Just I didn't even know aboutit.
Going in, I just walked in andwatched it.

(44:30):
Thank god it turned out to bepretty good, but I was like this
it could have been good.
Eden could have been, honestly,a series, almost that would
have been phenomenal.
But, um, that was like atwo-hour watch.
It could have been a tiny bitshorter, but I I recommend it to
you.
Like it's very psychological.
Like I think I talked most aboutwhat's the movie we did before
this, um, or no, I talked aboutuh, weapons and having like a

(44:53):
lot of interpretations that thatI didn't like that were left up
to the audience to come up with.
This even also comes up likeinterpretation itself too.
Like you can say that like, oh,this family recommends like
americans or like society as ageneral and this one's like the
outsider and this one's like thereligious one.
You know there's a lot ofdifferent ways you could take it
, and that's what has youthinking at the end of this

(45:14):
movie.
Anything it has you thinkingafter the movie's over.
It's a good movie for me okay,I, I will definitely.

Speaker 2 (45:21):
I.
I listen I horror movies, butif it does lean suspense
thriller, that's my bag, I willabsolutely get into there.

Speaker 1 (45:29):
It's nothing scary at all.
You could definitely handle it.
It's not even scary at all.
It's like that scene about thepregnancy.
I told you that's the mostsuspenseful thing.
Ana de Armas, like there'sanother one that has a lot of
sex in this movie, I was likegeez, louise, dude.
Like this is a year of sex formovies.

Speaker 2 (45:45):
Well, nora won an Oscar last got Best Movie, so
they set the tone.

Speaker 1 (45:50):
Do you think if it didn't have all those sex scenes
, it would have done well still?

Speaker 2 (45:55):
I loved Nora.
I know we've talked about this.
I love that movie.
I think the sex scenes helped, but it wasn't like the editing
for me, like it was Uncut Gems.

Speaker 1 (46:08):
You wasn't like the editing for me, like I I it was
uncut gems you know um sexworker, so that actress mickey,
I can't remember her last nameum madison.
That's our first role, right?

Speaker 2 (46:15):
um no, she was in other stuff, but I don't know.

Speaker 1 (46:19):
Off the top of my head but I feel like this role
for her first major she oh,that's what it was, she.

Speaker 2 (46:23):
She was also in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
It's the Once Upon a Time Dude.
Margaret Qualley, SidneySweeney, Austin Butler, Mickey
Madsen all of them were in OnceUpon a Time in Hollywood.
That's crazy when you thinkabout it.

Speaker 1 (46:37):
How do you feel about them making a sequel to that?

Speaker 2 (46:43):
I know Tarantino's involved, so that makes me happy
, but David Fincher's the onedoing it right.

Speaker 1 (46:49):
Yeah, he gave David Fincher his blessing to do it.

Speaker 2 (46:51):
Yeah, all right then I'm good, David Fincher's my top
10 movie director, so I'll besat, as the kids say.

Speaker 1 (46:58):
Okay, I'm, sure Tarantino's.

Speaker 2 (47:02):
Dude, you're not making a Tarantino Fincher
project and it'd be ass likemaybe it's okay but it's not
gonna be ass.

Speaker 1 (47:08):
I'm sure he's gonna sell a producer on there or
something like that.
Um tarantino you know he's veryfamous about.
He said he's only gonna do 10movies and then he's gonna
retire.
Um, he's currently.
He just finished his ninth onea couple years ago.
He's still waiting on 10th.
He said he's no rush to do it.
He was going to do the Critic Idon't know if you heard about
that and he just recentlydropped that, saying like no,
it's not good enough to be in my10th film.

(47:28):
So he's out there looking forgood stories.

Speaker 2 (47:32):
Well, I think he's on 9.
I think this was supposed to be9.
I think or maybe you're right,yeah.
I think there was like an atheory that it was too good and
he didn't want it to be his lastone, because it's about a movie
critic.
So we'll see what actuallyhappens.

Speaker 1 (47:51):
I also don't buy that .
I think like 10, 15 years fromnow we'll get another movie from
him.

Speaker 2 (47:55):
I don't even want to wait that long.
Tarantino is my top three.

Speaker 1 (47:58):
I guarantee you he is going to do the 10th one and
he's going to take a long break, but then, after a while of not
doing anything, I could see himdoing it.

Speaker 2 (48:05):
He also talked about being open and going to
television too, Like a Macseries, something like that,
yeah, yeah, he's way tootalented and God knows he loves
feet too much to just be sittingon the couch.
Okay.

Speaker 1 (48:20):
Randy, I think we talked about next episode caught
stealing right.

Speaker 2 (48:24):
Austin Butler.
Yes, sir Austin Butler.

Speaker 1 (48:25):
I, sir Awesome Butler .
I'm excited for that.
We also talked about the notenewest conjuring movie coming
out Like wait, I know you were ahard no, but I'm thinking about
putting my big boy pants andgoing to see it too.
I can't say I wanted to seethis like a 10 o'clock in the
morning.

Speaker 2 (48:42):
Yeah, this like at 10 o'clock in the morning though,
yeah, yeah, right outside andthen watch lulu and sitch.

Speaker 1 (48:46):
you know, yeah, can't , can't do that one, but I'm so
excited to see you brave throughit oh my gosh, especially
because we're supposed to andtalks of having somebody come on
the guest who is a big horrorfan, like that.
Um, it's gonna be a goodepisode.
That one caught ceiling isgonna be another great episode.
Uh, we're gonna do a couple one.
Like I said, we might even puttogether like a casting of the

(49:07):
X-Men, who knows?
Um, brandon, we haven't donethis in a minute.
What's a good recommendationfor tonight?

Speaker 2 (49:15):
Um, let's go tonight.
I would probably say I'm goingback to TV.
If you haven't watched it yet, this is now the time to watch
Peacemaker.
Do yourself a favor though Gowatch the Suicide Squad.
It holds up Like I justrewatched it and I forgot how

(49:35):
good that movie is.
James Gunn does such a reallygood job of giving us that
R-rated Guardians of the Galaxy, but character moments, action
is dope.
It did not get the love itdeserved at the box office, but
thankfully, critically, it didits job.
So shout out to Suicide Squad.

Speaker 1 (49:52):
Okay, okay, I think I'm going to go with TV series
as well.
This is another one.
We haven't talked about it, butit just came out Wednesday on
Netflix.
I haven't seen it.
That's going to be on my listto watch.
I want to watch that betweenStranger Things and Think.
Yeah pretty good suggestionsand pretty easy week, I think.
Like I said, austin Butler isthe only one coming out this

(50:13):
week that I can think of.
Yeah, stay tuned next week, where we'll be saving the seat.
Bye.
