Speaker 1 (00:05):
excuse me, is anybody
sitting here?
Speaker 2 (00:07):
sorry, this is taken
sorry, I've been dying to tell
you, like the behind the scenesfrom that content video.
I made that, um, my marathonmovie day.
No, I loved it.
So I broke a record.
First of all, my personalrecord Four movies at the
theaters and three differentmovie theaters.
Speaker 1 (00:25):
I didn't realize you
went to different ones.
Speaker 2 (00:28):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, as
you know, like in our town, well
, my hometown, cherville, there's like two movie theaters
within a block of each other.
So like I had no problem goingback and forth, so that whole
day was nuts, like I wasn'tplanning on doing it.
I think I't plan it the nightbefore to do three movies.
I thought four movies becauseamc up their membership to four
movies a week now.
Um, four movies one day andmaximum two theaters.
(00:51):
And I timed it perfectly, brandon, all right, the first
movie was, I think, like a 10 15.
I watched it was a longer movie, so I I was, it took lunch
right after that which is likearound 12 or one.
Next movie is at 110, 10finishes up at like around three
.
Next movies, at three, 30.
I timed it perfectly.
And these theaters, like I said, it was going back and forth
between 16 and 12 theater.
(01:13):
It's not a big deal.
Like I said, it's less than aminute drive, um, and so I went
to the first one, which is howto train your dragon.
Uh, how to train your dragon,uh, first of all, we'll talk
about those a little bit becauseI, like that, I didn't have a
chance to do that review, but,um, first one was how to train
your dragon.
There's a 10 15 showing.
I thought there would be morekids in there, which there
wasn't, which is cool.
There was like total.
When I walked in, there's fivepeople three, three girls in the
(01:36):
very front row in the corner, which is fine, two guys in the
center, but like in the verylast row, and then I think I saw
the second to last row at theend of the aisle.
That's the only people in thewhole theater and then, like two
minutes before the moviestarted, a family of four.
But I'm feeling for me like aparent, mom, dad, little kid and
(01:56):
a like maybe one.
They're one of their moms, likeher grandma.
They sit directly behind me.
I was like this entire theaterand you sit right behind me.
Speaker 1 (02:05):
So that it's a
dynamic.
Speaker 2 (02:07):
Yeah.
So then the kid, of course, isloud, which is I'm not going to
care about that because that'sit's a kid's movie.
Like I'm expecting that, likethis must have been one of his
first movies ever attempts to goto theaters, because as soon as
it started he's like oh man,it's so loud, it's too loud.
He wanted to go so but theparents, like the dad, like oh
my god, he pissed me off, he didnot know how to whisper.
(02:28):
Like he was asking hey, youwant something?
Asking to like to the grandma, cross love, who was sitting the
opposite end of them they weregoing up and down the aisle too
much.
I was like come on, dude, hewas.
Even the grandma was talking.
I was like you, all people knowhow to act, yeah, yeah you've
been here before that.
Yeah, that was so annoying, butwhatever I was like, it's my
first into them.
That was the first kind of likered flag during this day.
(02:50):
Rocky start to the movie day, yeah, so I didn't know what to
do for between.
For lunch.
I think I went to twin peaksfor lunch, um.
And then the second movie wasthe life of chuck.
Have you seen that one yet?
Speaker 1 (03:05):
I did not see that
one, but that's uh loki himself
right yeah, tom hiddleston,we'll talk about that movie in a
minute too.
Speaker 2 (03:11):
So this one starts.
This one's the older crowd, like very old crowd.
Um, it's to the point like thekind of old people like the
trailers are playing, like I didnot like that violence, like
speaking every thought they haveout loud, it's like oh gosh.
So the movie starts and it'spretty good.
I'm excited.
And there's a point like Idon't know if you know what it's
about.
It's about the life of chalk, like it's he's passing away and
(03:35):
then like we're seeing the worldinside his mind, kind of thing,
so like okay it's interesting, but there's a lot of tragedy in
this movie too.
And at one point, in the mostcalmest voice, you hear help, I
need help.
My sister and I was like damn, these speakers are good.
(03:56):
No, it was somebody in the backrow like this older lady, but
she was like, not like raisingany flags, like help, I need
help.
I was like what are you talking?
Right now she's like in alllower cases.
So, um, everyone startsfreaking out brandon, I, I froze
(04:18):
, I froze.
I did nothing to help at all.
Don't fight or fight, you froze, no, I froze.
I turned around once I realizedit was somebody like help, my
sister.
And it's an older lady.
She was like passing out, Idon't know she was seizing or
what exactly.
Thank god there was like anurse sitting near them.
She helped, jumped up rightaway, like was trying to help
calm down some older man.
(04:38):
I'll go help get some help andthey'd go find the amc crew.
And then, um, they turn on thelights, they stopped the movie
and everyone's panicking.
In my mind I was like this isgonna set off my whole schedule
for the rest of the day, likeI'm like curie, obviously
worried about the wrong thingsum, she's seeing her own life,
like the life of mary, andyou're just out here, like my
(04:59):
schedule is not inducive to thissituation yeah, you're gonna
have to tell chris evans I hadto postpone his movie.
So then, um, it was like for agood 15 minutes like that,
paramedics came in and got hereverything like that.
I think she I overheard them, they had a little blood sugar or
something like that and theygave us a free movie pass.
I was like the price of almostseeing somebody die is a movie
(05:23):
to you into an a-lister at thatyeah, yeah, yeah, so that, um,
they play the movie, which isfine.
The movie was great, I'll talkabout in a minute, but then, um,
I up the third movie.
I thought it was the sherville12 because I was at 16.
No, I booked it for the one allthe way across town in
Maryville in the Hobart.
Speaker 1 (05:45):
So I only because it
pushed it back.
Speaker 2 (05:48):
I only had like less
than 20 minutes to get there and
that's like after like thestart time.
So I mean, I know 20 minutes isthe preview.
So I mean, like man, I rushedover there.
I got there just on time, Ithink, for the last trailer.
I couldn't even make out thecrowd because I like I heard him
sat down.
I didn't want to be anyone'sway, uh, but it was a good
(06:09):
decent crowd.
Now this is where it gets bumpy.
This is where, like I fucked up.
Bad, like go into the other one.
Oh no, the third movie was thematerialist and I have a lot of
opinions about that one we'llget into.
I hated it and to the pointwhere I was like you know what,
because it was gonna be the samething for the fourth movie, you
(06:29):
know I was gonna be like 20minutes.
I had 20 minutes to get there.
I was like you know what thismovie sucks.
I'm dipping like 20 minutesearly.
And then I I went all the wayback to the shareable one.
Speaker 1 (06:39):
You didn't I'd
skipped it.
You're not telling me that youdidn't finish the movie I
didn't's not what's happeningright now.
Speaker 2 (06:46):
Man, I was not
feeling that movie at all and I
was like you know what?
I'm okay with this.
Speaker 1 (06:51):
This is crazy
Blasphemy.
Speaker 2 (06:56):
That was the last
movie, which is the Phenomenon
Skiing.
Is that what it's called?
Yeah, yeah, that is it wascalled.
Yeah, yeah, that was a prettygood movie.
Like I'm not really a big wesanderson movie and I think I
like this a lot better than theprevious one that just came out
not so long ago.
Um, yeah, so I spent the wholeday.
I think I got out of the movietheaters 8 30 I started there 10
, 15, spent the entire day there.
I posted a video about it, gotsome comments.
(07:18):
A lot of cool the comments Igot.
I was like what a great use offree will, like just to go to
the movies all day.
I was like that's perfect.
That was probably my favoritecomment.
And then one of them was likeyou eat a lot.
I was like because I had snacksand all that, like candy or
popcorn.
Speaker 1 (07:30):
Yeah, I'm spending.
Yo, you just watched me througha 12-hour period.
Speaker 2 (07:35):
Relax, right, right
right, um, but thank you for
everyone listening to this.
He's taking where I'm.
Your host, rob miranda.
The big announcement I've beenteasing over the past couple
weeks um, it's official.
Brandon cole, who has been onthe podcast many times, is now
going to be staying here as apermanent co-host.
Um, brandon, I cannot thank youso much for joining.
Speaker 1 (07:56):
It's going to be
great yeah, I was so excited
when we talked about thisoriginally and now, like it's
real, I woke up today and I'mlike here we go, here we go.
Speaker 2 (08:07):
You know, I thought
long and hard about who I wanted
to be on the podcast.
I was kind of hesitant, for theonly reasons because, like
you're, in a totally differentstate than I am and you know
you're always busy it's.
It can be challenging sometimesbut, like you, know what we're
going to push through, we'regoing to make it work.
So what going to push through?
We're going to make it work.
Um, so what's going to bechanging?
There's not going to be as manydifferent guests on, although
we're still going to have guestson every once in a while, um,
(08:29):
but for the most part, it's justme and brandon going over the
newest movies in the theaters.
Every once in a while.
We'll throw back a couple ofthrowback movies if there's
nothing new that we like to talkabout.
We're going to be playing a lotmore games.
We're going to be doing a lotmore hollywood info stuff.
Um, basically, just double theteam power.
Um, I knew I picked the rightman when I asked you if you
wanted to record on thursday andyou said can't do it, I'm in
(08:51):
the movies.
I was like that's why I pickedyou, that's why I picked you.
Speaker 1 (08:54):
I I felt bad and then
you were like that was gonna be
my plan.
I'm like this is what I'mtalking about.
Yeah, that's the prime realestate for going and sitting in
the theater yeah, dude, um, I'mexcited for this.
Speaker 2 (09:10):
You know you're one
of my favorite episodes, like
when it comes on.
Whenever you come on, I usuallytry to do say the bigger movies
for you anyway.
So I mean it's perfect fitting.
Um, we, we've been doing a lotof movie talk lately and we
talked about the future content.
We're going to be doing, um,this one, this episode.
We talked about not doing anymovie reviews, even though I'm
(09:31):
going to talk a little bit aboutthe movies.
I just saw Like it's been aminute since I talked to
Hollywood news too.
Like, uh, I think the lastepisode was like two or three
weeks ago.
That was for ballerina, andthen, um, yeah, we're gonna go
on a couple our reviews for thefirst six months of the year and
then we're gonna play a littlebit of gaming at the end.
So stay tuned for that, brandon.
Let's get into the movies.
(09:51):
I talked about how to trainyour dragon.
Have you seen this live actionmovie?
I?
Speaker 1 (09:55):
have not shut up and
for context, you gotta remember,
I was like gone training forthe last three weeks.
Speaker 2 (10:01):
That's true.
Were you a big fan of theoriginal how to train your?
Speaker 1 (10:03):
dragon, yeah, was
super late to it.
Uh was one of the people who, like, felt that it was overhyped
.
Danny was trying to put me on.
I'm talking years late, manyeah, like dreamworks franchise
same way like um.
I watched the movie theoriginal one like a day before
watching this new one, um andlet me tell you, like for the
(10:23):
first time yeah, first time I'min the middle of watching the
second one.
And let me tell you for yourfan, like for the first time.
Speaker 2 (10:26):
Yeah, first time.
I'm in the middle of watchingthe second one right now.
What is happening?
Speaker 1 (10:31):
right now.
We've been talking for 15minutes.
You broke my brain twicealready.
This is off to an interestingstart.
Oh man, yeah, you gotta finishthese ASAP.
Speaker 2 (10:43):
Yeah, dude, this is a
lot, especially for a strike.
I haven't seen Puss in Boots, the Last Wish, and I just
watched for the first time, maybe like two or three weeks
ago, the Wild Robot.
I'm bad with these animationones.
Speaker 1 (11:01):
Man, I got to make
you a list, we got to make each
other a list.
And we just start scratchingthem off as we go because this
is stressing me.
But uh, yeah, I was saying yougot to like, especially with all
the remakes happening now, yougot to watch it animated first
and then go to the live action.
How was that?
Speaker 2 (11:16):
like you know what.
It's exactly the same, likealmost line for line two and the
like camera angles.
I mean it looks incredible.
Live action and I think I wrotemy review like I think I I like
the music a lot in the animatedone, but I think it fits better
with the live action one.
It was, it was very good, it'svery funny, like that's perfect
casting, like for the vikingsare huge men.
(11:37):
They did that very well, likein a comedic form.
Um, and that main cat, maincast, uh, the guy who plays
hiccup I can't remember his nameof, but he's great, he's a
great hiccup in this movie.
The way they made, like all thedragons, not just the main one
it looks good.
The end is almost like end gamelevel, like um, production wise
(11:58):
.
Let's just say like notemotional wise, but uh,
production wise, it looksincredible, it's incredible,
it's amazing.
I think I give it a 4.5 out of5.
Speaker 1 (12:08):
I was curious about
the production.
Obviously it's different seeingit on screen versus the set
photos that get released.
Speaker 2 (12:15):
When I was looking at
those.
Speaker 1 (12:17):
The costumes were a
little funky.
It's hard to get the visionfrom animated to live, so that's
good to hear.
Speaker 2 (12:24):
But it was
interesting too.
Like all these live actions area little bit different at least
, but this one line for line, like I said, exactly the same, I
was like I mean, I think a lotof disney could take notes from
this too, because like, especially like all the live
actions kind of like, didn't doas well as they wanted to snow
white, like.
If you did the exact same thing, what we love, like, you
probably would have had a betterchance yeah, yeah, you.
Speaker 1 (12:45):
It's like this new
phase of directors trying to
like, tell, interpret this, theclassic story in whatever way
they like.
No, just give me beat for beat, line for line, and I will be a
happy camper.
You will.
You will take my money yeah, um, I'm not sure.
Speaker 2 (13:01):
Any other universe um
, dreamworks, live actions are
on the works right now, but Iwonder if that's going to be
their thing now, and I wonder ifDisney is going to try it too.
I kind of doubt Disney would dothat route.
It just depends on how muchmoney it makes.
Speaker 1 (13:14):
If it crosses like
$750,000, hits a billion, then
they'll be.
We'll have five more indevelopment by the end of the
week.
But I think Disney have alreadylearned their lessons with this
Lilo and Stitch fiasco.
Speaker 2 (13:27):
I think they I read
an interview or not read it.
I read an article Because thismovie did so well.
I think it has a chance ofgreenlighting Tangled live
action movie Because I got toput on pause indefinitely right
now.
See, now I'm like come on yeahum, second movie, the life of
(13:51):
chuck.
I know you said you haven't seenthis one.
This movie is like thedefinition of trust, the process
.
It is told backwards from thethird act to the second act and
to the first act.
The second and third act islike almost like completely
different movies because, likethe third act is like you learn
in the second act, chuck has ateacher who tells him, like you
(14:11):
have a whole universe insideyour head.
Everyone you see, everythingyou know, it's all in a universe
in your mind.
So I guess in the third, firstpart of the movie it's the third
act you're seeing his mind, like he's passing away, um, and
it's like the world ending, likethe people in her are just.
It's like the world ending, like the people in her are just
like interacting, like me andyou, and the world's coming to
an end.
And it was so interestingbecause like there was
(14:32):
earthquakes or tsunamis andstuff like that.
And it's just like to the pointwhere, like the seven stages of
grief, they talk about mattlillard's in there who does this
great speech.
Um, you know the seven greatuhances.
Because, like you also losepower, you lose the internet,
you lose the phones, like it'snothing like, but existence is
withering away.
Like and that is the point, they're at acceptance, seven
(14:53):
stages of grief, they're atacceptance and they're just
waiting to die.
And then, just when it gets sad, like it takes you back.
Okay, the second act.
And like it's Tom hiddlestonwho's great in this movie.
He dances, he has a great dancescene.
This movie it's amazing.
Highly recommend.
Um, the third movie, thematerialist.
We can get into this dude Ihate.
(15:18):
Like, as someone who, if aperson likes romance movies and
it can avoid a ton, a ton ofplot holes in this movie, you
might like it, you, you couldreally enjoy it.
I can see how people enjoy itbecause you pick like eight list
celebrities to star in it too.
I just don't like dakotajohnson.
I hate her actually okay, madamwebb is still stuck madam webb
(15:38):
still stuck in there, but Itried to put that aside.
Even her acting in this moviejust did not do anything for me.
It's kind of hard to be playingsomeone as pretty as her too
and then like playing the likepick me girl in this movie, like
why do you want to be?
I'm so old, you can havesomeone way younger than me.
I was like shut up, shut upright now.
(15:59):
Pedro pascal was very charmingin this movie.
He was so great he transformsinto anybody.
Chris Evans he's good, but I'mjust picturing Captain America.
It's gonna hard to be shaked upfor like the rest of life he
gave me more of of his KnivesOut character.
(16:21):
I was gonna say that trumpetplayer from that other romance
movie he did like in 2014.
I can't remember his name.
Uh, he does actually a littlekey a lot of handful of romance
movies that a lot of peopledon't realize yeah, it's part of
the gauntlet.
Speaker 1 (16:33):
It's part of the
gauntlet.
Listen, when you look likechris evans, you know it's gonna
happen to your career.
Dude, I was, uh, I'm still, I'mstill out.
I love, I love the first partof this movie and then something
happens where it pissed me off, like it just goes off the rail
from there I think it might havebeen around the same time I
(16:53):
walked out the theater, is it?
Is it?
Speaker 2 (16:57):
hey, jose, pascal
scene it was yeah right around
there, yeah it was like herdiscovering his scars.
Speaker 1 (17:05):
It was what happens
after that?
Speaker 2 (17:07):
Okay, I walked out
after that, like after that huge
fight, I was like you missedlike another.
Speaker 1 (17:13):
You didn't miss like
20 minutes, you missed like a
whole half hour.
Speaker 2 (17:18):
I just did not care.
Okay, let's get into that onereal quick Because, like the
whole movie is enough for themto celebrate champagne every
once in a while, just off ofpeople paying them to matchmake
them with somebody.
Speaker 1 (17:34):
I was like we have
tinder for free and yeah, but
this one see, I know this iswhere we're gonna start
disagreeing.
I get that concept like whodude have you, have you swiped
in your life?
Speaker 2 (17:45):
it's terrible, it's a
terrible process this movie is
almost like if hitch wentcorporate.
That's exactly the.
I think that was the pitch.
Speaker 1 (17:51):
I think that it was
like if Hitch went corporate.
That's exactly the.
I think that was the pitch.
I think that it was like if wehad a bunch of Hitches and they
were mediocre at their job.
Speaker 2 (17:58):
Well, they were all
about it for the money.
Really he was more for theactual caring.
Well, at least with one of theclients, dude.
And then, yeah, chris Evansplays.
This movie is what it Ends WithUs wanted to be with the
throuple kind of thing, with thechemistry.
I should say, um, pager pascalis the man dude.
(18:22):
And then when they they, heplays like they call him a
unicorn in the movie becausehe's the ideal height, he has
all his hair, he has greatincome, he's a very handsome guy
it's something rare, um, buthis biggest insecurity is
getting surgery by the doctorsbreaking his legs and letting it
heal so he can get taller acouple inches.
(18:42):
And he was so insecure.
So what are you gonna leave me?
Now that you found out about mylegs, I was like what?
Speaker 1 (18:49):
what listen he?
He had a little bit moremotivations than that he was she
was trying to comfort him likethat dude he was.
Speaker 2 (18:58):
He turned into a pick
me girl after him he did.
Speaker 1 (19:01):
Well it also like
they didn't.
They had a whole this is theproblem with this type of movie.
They had a whole scenededicated for him to be like why
do you, why did you pick herright?
Like why is it her?
And like his excuse was likelame as hell.
People would be throwingthemselves at this million
billionaire bachelor in new yorkcity who has a premium, you
(19:23):
know real estate, and is likejust no, like you said, no real
issues.
It's not just that he's aunicorn, his lifestyle would be
so outrageous.
And they just didn't lean it.
They were just like no, he'sjust some normal guy.
It's like bullshit.
Speaker 2 (19:36):
If you, if you met
somebody who got that, would you
think less of them, likethey're like your spouse, like
your partner?
It's my yeah, well, that's justweird that.
Speaker 1 (19:46):
Well, I mean, like I
don't know it's, it's, it's like
an enhancement right, becausethat was like the whole thing.
Speaker 2 (19:50):
I got a boobob job.
Speaker 1 (19:52):
You know we're the
same.
Speaker 2 (19:55):
I mean, it's the same
, like people do it all the time
, like they get hair transplants, like you say, they get tummy
tucks, they get butt lifts.
It's like that.
Why not make yourself taller?
It's nothing wrong with it.
Speaker 1 (20:07):
Which is why I was
like that's a lame mean, like,
at the end of the day, if youget an enhancement and it's for
you and it makes you moreconfident, go off.
We just talked about free willearlier.
Speaker 2 (20:18):
Like maybe have him
like a big scar on his back or
his chest or something like that.
Speaker 1 (20:22):
You know, maybe make
him an alcoholic you know, maybe
, maybe give him an actualcharacter flaw that makes her go
oh like, maybe she's talkingabout work, and go oh like,
maybe she's talking about work, and then he laughs in her face.
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (20:36):
You gotta give him
something more than he had this
random surgery like there needsto be a real asterisk yeah, but
then when you do something likethat, I think it's more like
turning into this is the uh,this is the end this is at the
end, yeah this is yeah, no, thisis us, no, that's holding, give
me show the end of us,something like that it ends with
us, it ends with us.
(20:56):
Yeah, that movie sucked and I'mstill on team Justin Baldoni in
that whole court case that gotdismissed, but no comment hers
is still going on.
Speaker 1 (21:09):
Yeah, yeah, I mean
like even like that's the thing
too.
Like maybe not make him like aterrible dude, but you can't
like she already decided tobreak up with him before that.
It was just like a funny buttonwhere he like realized it.
But that's what I mean.
And to your point earlier, likeI'm a rom-com guy, you know me
and goose did do like rom-comsundays, like for a year, you
(21:30):
know um, but this is like 80 rom, 20, calm like this is not,
it's probably 90 and 10.
I would say I'm being generous, maybe I was laughing at the
movie at points where I shouldhave, instead of with it but
yeah, and I mean like, no man, Istill overall, but like.
And then chris evans characterhe was okay.
Speaker 2 (21:50):
I mean he did nothing
special.
I mean like he just I don'tknow, like I said the time, I'm
thinking of captain america whenI see him, but his his care.
It was not his fault.
It's just character was kind oflike I don't know like crying
for this guy girl and I don'tknow.
I just didn't feel these moviesaren't made for me, brandy.
It's like I don't know how tosay all right, I'll say this.
Speaker 1 (22:13):
The thing that, the
real thing that keeps me up at
night, why I hate this movie.
I actually gave like a threeout of five, so I'm being a
little.
I think I really do.
It irritates me.
His only flaw, or his mainfault, was that he was broke and
she told that to his face like20 times and that was pissing me
off.
Like she said to Pedro like Ijust like you because you're
(22:35):
rich and that's my like, that'son my list.
You're rich and he's broke, andwhat is a girl to do?
That's a stupid plot of a movie.
Speaker 2 (22:43):
Yeah, it's not a
point, it's not, he's just broke
.
Speaker 1 (22:54):
He's broke because
he's trying like he is in the
grind.
Yeah, he's old, like 37 yearsold doing that.
Maybe you know you got to pivot.
Speaker 2 (23:01):
But like sorry sorry,
that was another weird thing
Like I picture Pedro Pascal wayolder than Chris Evans.
It's kind of weird to have themas opposites, even though they
probably closer in age than Ithink.
But yeah, I guess when you'relike listen we're.
Speaker 1 (23:13):
I don't know them as
opposites, even though they're
probably closer in age than Ithink, but but yeah, I guess
when you're like, listen we're.
I don't know, I'm still tryingto fight off 30 here, so I don't
know too much about that age.
But you know, I think, even ifyou call them 50 or 45, like I
don't know how old she'ssupposed to be, like maybe
that's the crazy part.
Speaker 2 (23:31):
But yeah, yeah, um, I
feel like the marketing was let
down in this movie.
It could have been a lot betterthan what it was.
But it's also kind of hard too, with pedro pascal like right
now he's only doing fantasticfour and the interviews I've
seen with him promoting thismovie they're still asking about
fantastic four.
Um and chris evans.
Speaker 1 (23:48):
Well, did you see
that one, uh, that one clip that
like broke my heart, low key.
They were asking like chrisevans, like where's pedro?
And he's like, yeah, he's off.
You know filming uh, uh, doomwith like all my buddies, like I
remember when I used to do thatlike I was like damn, the promo
was crazy you were literallycapping him and now you're on
the sidelines I think he'scapping.
Speaker 2 (24:10):
I think he's gonna be
in there.
I think he's gonna make a cameo.
Uh's going to be in there.
I think he's going to make acameo Do you want, but yeah.
We'll do an MCU episode one day, probably when Fantastic Four
comes out.
I was going to say DakotaJohnson, her interviews.
I feel like she's still fendingoff the haters from Madam Web
too, so she's on defense modewith a lot of that stuff too.
Speaker 1 (24:32):
Yeah, she's on
defense mode with a lot of that
stuff too.
Yeah, she's, like you know,recreating herself and I don't
mind her, I think she's fine.
She just didn't blow me away.
This is a movie that is 100 gotgreenlit because they signed on
these actors.
This movie does not work if youput, uh, some random, like I
was thinking that becauseeveryone you know compares it to
those 2000s movies where, like, this type of rom-com could blow
(24:53):
you up.
But I was like if I saw, like, some unknowns in here I think
this is a streaming movie forsure it is built on the back of
these people.
Speaker 2 (25:03):
The last movie,
Phenomenon Scheme.
Have you had a chance to seethis one yet?
No, not.
Speaker 1 (25:08):
yet I'm not a huge
Wes Anderson guy either.
Speaker 2 (25:10):
Neither am I.
The only reason I threw it inthere is because I just want to
do a full day in theaters.
I wasn't planning on seeingthis originally because the last
one I didn't care for.
Michael Cera makes his WesAnderson debut in it.
He's pretty good in it.
The whole movie is a prettyinteresting story.
It's about this guy who's losthis investments and he needs to
find new investors to cover hislosses or something like that.
(25:32):
And, um, yeah, cast is great.
It's an interesting story, gotmy attention and, um, it's just
satisfying to watch.
It's like a hallmark greetingcard in a movie.
Okay, um, yeah, what moviesyou've been seeing lately?
Oh, you just got back a coupleweeks, so you missed.
(25:52):
Yeah, I just got back.
Speaker 1 (25:53):
I haven't seen
anything but on the like even
this weekend I'm doing um thelife of chuck and I'm doing
ballerina, because that came outwhile I've been gone as well
you haven't seen that movie yet.
Speaker 2 (26:03):
That was pretty good.
It was pretty good.
It was a fun watch.
It was a fun watch.
Okay, I'm excited.
I'm excited.
Uh, with that being said, I dowant us to go over the first six
months.
This is like a recap, like justchecking in to see where we're
at.
Uh, right now, I think thatwe're in the spike, when the
first spike, like movies arecoming back.
I'm getting excited for allthese movies, especially july.
(26:24):
I'm getting pumped for, um.
So, at categories, I know youdid too a little bit some of the
highs and lows of this week's.
Yep, let me see.
I have lists on, like, uh, thetop winners, I have mid, I have
bad and then the underrated oh,okay all right.
(26:45):
Uh, we're gonna go both giveover a list and see if it's
around the same, which I thinkthey might be, but based off of
you like defending thematerialist, I kind of doubt it
now that's what keeps usinteresting.
Yeah, um, where do you want tostart with?
You want to start with thebetter movies?
Yeah, of course, let's do it.
Okay, the golden goose allright, they're gonna be the same
.
I'll go first on this one andthen you can go first on the
(27:06):
other one.
Um, okay, not specific order sofar, but I got how to train
your dragon thunderbolts.
The movie friendship have youseen that one?
Tim robbins oh my god, that'shilarious.
Mickey 17 companion, and ofcourse, the number one is
sinners this companion, love manwe gotta talk about this.
(27:30):
You didn't like it I.
Speaker 1 (27:32):
I told you I, the
more I think about that movie,
the more I hate it.
It's I haven't, man, it was my,it's my probably my top three
theater experience this year, because I didn't know, I went in
blind, like I told you so.
Speaker 2 (27:47):
But by the way, my
sister's so close quotes when
you were talking about Sinnerswith me.
And you go, oh, Danny goes likewhoa.
I did not see that coming, butCompanion, I like, Companion
Granted.
I haven't seen it since thetheater, but I still liked it.
Speaker 1 (28:07):
It's still memorable
to me that's a sign.
Speaker 2 (28:11):
Let's hear your top
list.
Speaker 1 (28:21):
All right, top.
I went top five to start it Igo sinners is the the right
answer.
You know um thunderbolts, sowe're really aligned there.
Speaker 2 (28:26):
I went mission
impossible because I knew you
were gonna put that out there.
I knew you were gonna put thatout there it's you can't not
like.
Speaker 1 (28:33):
It's crazy.
Don't even get me started.
I'm going to set my parachuteon fire, like Tom Cruise did.
Speaker 2 (28:40):
Oh wait.
Speaker 1 (28:41):
Only one man is
successful at that Nova Cane I
threw on there.
And then Warfare.
Speaker 2 (28:49):
I haven't seen
Warfare.
You know what I didn't write.
Nova Can write nova king downanywhere, but yeah, he'll be in
my top list.
That was a good movie okay allright, yeah, big old fan of nova
king all right.
What other list do you justhave good and bad for this list?
Speaker 1 (29:03):
no, no.
What was your second?
Category I have mid okay I cando mid okay, all right yeah all
right, and this is this is theone where I've switched my
thoughts on.
So maybe not mid, but justslightly above average.
Yeah, holds a space for Mickey17.
Like it got knocked out of thetop five, oh, still, maybe an
(29:25):
honorable mention the Accountant2.
Speaker 2 (29:29):
The Accountant 2 is
your second pick, yep.
Okay, going back and forth onthis one amateur.
Speaker 1 (29:39):
Oh no, okay, and I
knew, because I got I got a
whole thing about amateur, um,and then let's see what else I
watched.
I think I'll stay there.
I think those are my dude I gota lot of them.
Speaker 2 (29:52):
A lot of movies are
admitted okay, uh, I got the
account too, like you said, itwas good movie, uh, but I I
definitely probably would nevergo back and watch it again.
Um, I got one of them days wasin day on sisa, kiki palmer.
No, I'm sorry, kiki palmer, sorry yeah dude, she's been all
over my for you page.
She is hilarious.
Um, I got flight risk.
(30:13):
I don't know if you got aroundto seeing that one.
Oh sorry, keith Ballmer.
Sorry, yeah, dude, she's beenall over my for you page.
She is hilarious.
I got flight risk.
I don't know if you got aroundto seeing that one.
Yeah, wolf man is definitelymid for me.
Could have been a lot better.
It was great Cinematography,wise story.
Could have a lot better.
Speaker 1 (30:30):
Captain America.
Speaker 2 (30:31):
Brave new world yeah,
brave new world.
Brave New World Brave New Worlddefinitely.
Mid as hell.
Final Destination the new onethat just came out.
It was good, but it's notbetter than any.
It's definitely like a FinalDestination movie.
There's nothing that makes itstand out too much for me.
Mid, I got Lilo and Stitch.
It was good.
I was not happy.
I was not happy with all thechanges.
I'm definitely a hater on it,but I had a fun time watching it
(30:53):
though, and the last one I gotfrom mid is karate kid legends
okay, yeah I missed that one too.
Speaker 1 (30:59):
I missed, I missed
that one.
So I'll see if the other one Ihad for mid, because I know it's
forgetting.
One did end of thieves too.
Speaker 2 (31:05):
Yeah, I didn't even
watch that one because I watched
the first one not too long ago, though, yeah yeah, I yeah.
I was curious about that one, karate Kid 2.
I mean Karate Kid Legends.
I had a great time.
That was one of my favoriteepisodes recently that I did.
I did a lot of research.
It's great for nostalgia, wiseFor like, because it was cool
with seeing Ralph Macchio andJackie Chan and everything like
that.
Speaker 1 (31:24):
And it connect with
the Cobra Kai universe.
Yeah, cobra Kai universe.
Speaker 2 (31:28):
Yeah, they corrected
all the movies and even
corrected the Jaden Smith one.
Like Jackie Chan is hischaracter from that movie.
Speaker 1 (31:36):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (31:37):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (31:37):
Yeah, okay, I gotta
watch that one.
I think I'm just gonna waituntil it comes to streaming
because, knowing that movie willbe there next month, but
Probably- I will watch thatbefore then.
Speaker 2 (31:48):
Isn't it Paramount
too?
Paramount will probably put iton there right away.
Speaker 1 (31:53):
Yeah, sprinting tour
45 day window.
Speaker 2 (31:56):
Yeah, all right.
Speaker 1 (31:59):
Let me hear your bad
list.
Okay, so bad.
No, I'm not going to put thecompanion on there.
I ain't going to do you likethat I got.
Let's see flight risk, for sureFor sure.
Flight risk, for sure, for forsure.
Flight risk.
That mark walbert nonsensicalaccent.
Real rapey vibe, damn it.
The dude's trying to, she'strying to land the plane, the
(32:19):
guy's like flirting with herearth.
Me to my core, love hurts.
Speaker 2 (32:23):
Hated that movie oh,
with uh, what's his name?
Uh, uh, uh, kiko kwan yeah, Ikeep seeing it on peacock and I
keep wanting to pull the triggerbecause I love him, um, but
yeah, I heard bad things aboutthat one yeah, absolutely trash
um and then uh drop I missedthat one.
Speaker 1 (32:44):
I missed that one,
and though it called me, it was
a good you you missed nothingbut it's a it's a good trailer,
though I'll give you that it's agreat trailer it got me to go
see it, like I'm thinking it'sgonna be this really intense,
like I think it was by the sameproducers or filmmakers from uh
the invisible, uh visible man.
So I was like, yeah, this isgonna be like right up my f,
(33:06):
that movie he's stuck what doyou got?
Speaker 2 (33:12):
uh, I got more than
you.
Uh, I got hard eyes.
I don't know if you rememberthat slasher movie valentine's
day I got snow white on here.
This one I'm just hating on.
But the minecraft movie, eventhough it did really well in the
box office.
I got the materialist on hereand I don't know if you've seen
(33:34):
this one.
It's Nick Kroll's new movie.
It's called I Don't Understandyou.
Speaker 1 (33:41):
No, I've heard of
that one.
I've not seen it and I didn'teven have a thing for me to go
see it looks funny.
Speaker 2 (33:46):
It definitely looks
funny, but the movie just was
stupid.
Speaker 1 (33:50):
Yeah, and.
Speaker 2 (33:54):
I'm kind of over nick
kroll like I don't know now I
only picture big mouth when Isee him um.
But now you get this movieminecraft yeah good, I mean, but
now he gets a picture of nick'scrow.
Nick kroll like as a monsterjust making out with another guy
.
I have the time.
I was like why, why are wewatching?
Speaker 1 (34:11):
yeah, yeah, I'm good
I was gonna say, uh, minecraft
and snow white I boycotted.
And you know me, I'll go watchmost.
As long as it's not horror,I'll probably go catch it so I
can talk about it.
Man, at the moment I likethursday, like do I really want
to drive to the movie theaterand support these movies?
(34:31):
And I just couldn't couldn't doit.
Speaker 2 (34:33):
Um, I got another
category called the underrated
movies.
It's only two movies it's.
I got the amateur.
I really liked the amateur alot.
I'm surprised he didn't carefor that much.
Speaker 1 (34:44):
It's just the every
cool thing that happens.
There's only three cool thingsthat happen, and they all happen
in the trailer.
Speaker 2 (34:55):
So kind of yeah, but
it wasn't enough for me.
The reason I gave it like alower review, I mean like it's
not gonna have the same effect.
I want to watch it the secondtime.
You know like I already kneweverything now and, yeah, I
don't think I'm gonna learnanything new at the second watch
.
Uh, and you know what scene itwas, sorry to derail you.
Speaker 1 (35:08):
It's the scene with
him trying to like uh, who is
that not lawrence?
Speaker 2 (35:11):
is that lawrence
fishburne?
Speaker 1 (35:12):
yeah right, oh yeah
and like he's like trying to get
him to shoot him.
It's the dumbest scene I'veever watched.
That scene pissed me offbecause what if you would have
done right?
Like what was the plan there?
Speaker 2 (35:23):
right, that was
stupid.
Um, and then second, the reasonI put on underrated no one's
talking about it.
I don't see anybody talkingabout it, which is sad to me.
Uh, and the second one I havethe life of chuck that one just
feels like god's no marketingaround, like I don't think it's.
I see a lot of reviews of it,but there are a lot of paid
reviews and I never trust thoseokay, no, that's so fair yeah,
(35:45):
but overall I think we'reheading in the right direction.
For movies, do you think so farit's safe to say it's better
than last year?
I'm not going to quite say thatquite yet.
Speaker 1 (35:54):
Yeah, I don't know
where we were at the halfway
point last year in my head, butI know that I am.
Maybe it's like the excitementof what's coming next.
I feel I feel better this yearthan I did last year, but I
think we're still in that realm.
Speaker 2 (36:12):
I think for both of
us it's safe to say like
superman and fantastic four kindof like, blocked our whole
minds to see what else is coming.
Yeah, because we also have f1just next week.
Dude, dude, let's talk aboutanticipated movies.
That's me right now.
Yeah, that's top gun, maverickis in my top five.
Speaker 1 (36:25):
I decided that it's
in my top five movies um same
producers.
And then you got brad pitt upin there.
Speaker 2 (36:33):
I am over the moon, I
will be there yeah, it's super
exciting, especially with um, Idon't know it's, it's tied to
marvel, like that actor whoplays in or who played who
counters uh, brad pitt, I can'tremember his name that's not
desmond, it's it, it's Dems andaddress interest.
Yeah, for sure, but um, there'sa lot of rumors right now he's
(36:56):
gonna be coming up as blackPanther pretty soon.
That's my, that's my number onepick.
Really, that's pretty cool.
Speaker 1 (37:02):
I don't know if I
recognize this guy in anything.
Speaker 2 (37:04):
He didn't look
familiar to me.
Speaker 1 (37:06):
Snowfall I didn't see
that it's show right, yeah,
yeah, yeah, it's really, it wason fx.
Speaker 2 (37:13):
Um, I think I seen
like the first couple episodes
of that, but I never kept upwith it yes um, I haven't talked
to you about movies, shows, matter of fact, the studio.
Have you seen the studio?
Loved it man, I think I saw onyour story.
Speaker 1 (37:26):
You were uh looking
at one of the episodes I meant
to text you yeah, I binged thatthing in a day and a half it was
incredible.
Speaker 2 (37:33):
I mean it's a lot of
behind the scene.
Look, it's a lot of making funof the actual studio heads.
Um, I gotta tell you, myfavorite episode is like almost
almost the whole episode is oneshot with that one like he keeps
messing up.
Uh, uh, dr shot.
That was pure cinema fortelevision.
Yeah, I think I describedsomebody the plot of it.
(37:56):
It's kind of like kirbyenthusiasm humor with like movie
cinema kind of.
Speaker 1 (38:01):
If that makes sense
that's a really good way to put
it.
Yeah that, that one's tied.
Speaker 2 (38:05):
My first I can't
decide if I like that one more
because like from a pure.
Speaker 1 (38:09):
They were making fun
of it, but they were also doing
it like chef's kiss dude.
The kool-aid man episode reallyresonated with me.
Speaker 2 (38:16):
That shit was funny.
Yeah, yeah, and I was notexpecting to see ice cube in
there at all, I was actually notexpecting to see half of the
cameos.
He got a ton of cameos in thismovie and the show yeah, yeah,
like big names, like randompeople.
Speaker 1 (38:29):
they also had, uh,
the CEO of Netflix.
That was actually him.
I was like, okay, I wonder whatthat conversation was like to
get him in there.
Speaker 2 (38:37):
I'm surprised they
had that director, martin
Scorsese in there that waspretty cool.
Speaker 1 (38:41):
Yeah, martin, he was
acting in there.
Speaker 2 (38:43):
Yeah, what other
shows have I started?
You know what?
I kind of put new shows put onpause because I've been
re-watching naruto for like along time, um, but we talked
about blocking out like supermanand stuff like that.
Uh, superman, just on my mindalmost every day now I cannot.
(39:04):
I'm more hyped for me than Iever imagined I could be.
Uh, it's getting greatreactions.
It's everywhere.
Right now it's a.
Right now it's your phonebackground.
Uh, I've been playing a lot offortnite.
I have this is my first everskin I bought.
Was superman you play for a day?
Yeah, I do.
Speaker 1 (39:19):
I just started,
that's all right, you gotta, you
gotta add me after this, I'mgonna wait we, um, but that I
probably maybe a few months inand I've been holding out.
Speaker 2 (39:29):
I wanted to buy alan
the alien skin, but it's not
available uh was, I decidedsuperman this david corn, so
that's gonna be my first skinand it's incredible.
I love it.
Speaker 1 (39:39):
His suit's awesome,
dude, yeah yeah, yeah, I I'm so
thrilled I I was talking tosomebody and I was like what am
I more anticipated, likeanticipating this or fantastic
four?
And it truly is this by a mile, the closer we get to it,
fantastic four is going to begreat.
Maybe it's not.
I'm excited.
This one, I'm like I need it, Ifeel it already.
Speaker 2 (40:01):
Do you think it's?
What if they were reversed,Like fantastic four was coming
up in a couple of weeks?
Do Fantastic Four?
No, Fantastic Four is alsoeverywhere too.
Their marketing is crazy forboth these movies.
Speaker 1 (40:14):
Yeah, and I liked
that.
James Gunn was like don't putus against each other.
It's not like don't do thatnerd shit.
He's like if one of us wins, weboth win.
We really need to have greatweekends for both of us so we
can keep making these types ofmovies.
Speaker 2 (40:27):
I'm surprised.
I wonder if it it's kicking, because it's like two weeks
after they're coming out.
I'm wondering if it's gonnakick superman out of the imax a
lot sooner then no it's?
Speaker 1 (40:38):
yeah, it's exactly
three weeks, if I'm not mistaken
which is which is fine, becausethat's what happened to sinners
.
Like sinners was out for two, maybe three weeks, and then, uh,
mission impossible, and thenthat got taken.
Speaker 2 (40:51):
I think sinners.
I think sinners got put backand I'm actually a little bit
right.
I thought not all of them.
I know that that they.
Speaker 1 (41:00):
They stuck with
mission impossible because tom
cruise like we're looking atstraw hat, goofy and soups and
was like, yeah, we need to getthat movie back like they had
any control over it.
But hey, that's the ceo ofmovies right there it centers is
still incredible.
Speaker 2 (41:14):
I'm still watching a
bunch of tiktoks where it's
talking about that and I'mlearning more about that movie
still it's.
It's incredible great I thinkit's gonna be a I hope it's like
win some kind of oscars, or atleast nominated for every
category yeah, it better be notlisten, better be nominated.
Speaker 1 (41:30):
That's my only like
kind of critique of it.
I wish it came out a littlelater, um, because you know,
it's like kind of hard for thesemovies that come out this early
to stay on the top ofeveryone's mind.
But hell, do a re-release.
It's very rare like I haven'tfelt this way, maybe, since this
is going to be bold, take maybelike black panther, where I
like know that I'm in the middleof like a cultural phenomenon,
like I see it like happening infront of me.
Speaker 2 (41:53):
I'm gonna give a Hot
Topic prediction.
I think this might go against Ihate saying this out loud For
best soundtrack.
Go against Wicked 2, part 2.
That's not how I take it all.
You don't think so.
No, I think so.
Speaker 1 (42:12):
No, I think that
would probably, because what
else is coming?
I mean pure soundtrack-wiseyeah, I think maybe Superman.
I think James Gunn ismisleading us.
Speaker 2 (42:23):
I'm hoping he does a
Guardian soundtrack.
Speaker 1 (42:25):
I think he's
misleading us.
Talking about that.
It wasn't as focused, but fromthe theme, like the first
trailer, john williams scorecomes in there.
Man, get out of here, we'regonna be.
Speaker 2 (42:36):
We're gonna be in a
good spot yeah, yeah, um, so
looking forward to superman dude.
Um, yeah, that phone's gonna begreat.
There's also no one's talkingabout jurassic world coming.
I was just about to this is whywe talk.
Speaker 1 (42:50):
I'm just about to say
that comes out before either.
Yeah, so we are uh.
Um, yeah, I uh.
How do you feel about that one?
Speaker 2 (43:00):
it's just bad timing
on the studio's part.
It's, I mean, it has potentialto be good, great even.
But like the, the way this, like the second trilogy ended
was just bad.
It was horrible.
I fucked it up and they didn'teven need to make this movie at
all.
Uh, but throw scarlettjohansson in there and dinosaurs
I mean you can always makedinosaurs work in some way just
(43:21):
placing it a week beforesuperman, knowing it's not going
to get a chance at imax.
Really it's kind of stupid.
Speaker 1 (43:28):
The stupid and
terrible decision they should
have put that in june theyshould have put that in june
because I mean, like even rightnow, you know like f1's coming
out, but if you would havestarted june with this, then we
would have had something likealmost every three weeks, and
that would have been the properplay yeah, yeah, I couldn't even
have it with a main release, but nah, okay well, may was tom
(43:49):
cruise's month.
Mission Impossible.
Speaker 2 (43:55):
I'm really big on
this.
We can do that.
April was obviously Michael BJordan.
I would say January was RobertPattinson, february, I guess you
had to say Sam Wilson, anthonyMackie, and then we said Michael
B Jordan, jordan's april, april, uh, tom cruise was may june.
(44:17):
What's what's coming on june,would you say.
You have f1 at the end, youknow like but that's what I
think that this is.
Speaker 1 (44:27):
This would have been
their best opportunity yeah at
the beginning it's like a tieit's like a tie.
Speaker 2 (44:32):
It's like a tie
between July.
Yeah, I got like more to see.
Speaker 1 (44:36):
We'll see.
When the dust settles, helpkick it to August.
You know, like I don't knowScarlett Johansson, I'm watching
anything she's in, so I'mexcited I heard Steven Spielberg
is really into this one but whoknows, do you?
Think we'll ever see theircrossovers with chris pratt's
only in a fever dream I.
Speaker 2 (44:56):
I don't think he
would come back for it.
Chris pratt's like in a weirdstage of his career, like he's
doing his.
I think he has like a newseason two on prime coming out
for that one journalist, yeah, which is a good series.
Um, I don't know if any otherprojects I've seen him in like,
because his last two movies kindof didn't do well, like the one
on Netflix with, uh, theRooster brothers.
Speaker 1 (45:14):
Um, oh, with uh Billy
Bob.
Uh, yeah, I didn't watch that, but uh, yeah, is he going to be
in?
Uh doom Chris.
Speaker 2 (45:23):
Pratt yeah, heard
anything about that, not, dune,
I'm stupid uh, doomsday.
Speaker 1 (45:37):
Oh uh, I don't think
his name was announced, though,
right?
Speaker 2 (45:39):
no, he's on earth,
star wars on earth.
I mean, I'm sure you guys pushback on next december.
I'm sure we'll get another likewave of announcements of
casting.
Yeah, yeah, I'm loving thebehind the scenes photos of
everyone eating and shit likethat together.
Speaker 1 (45:53):
I love all that this
is what it needed to feel like
like.
This is like those set likewith simu, um and uh, uh.
Even chris hemsworth like postsand stuff like downey jr.
I was like they're having fun,so I don't know, I'm excited.
Speaker 2 (46:10):
Yeah, we can talk
about Doomsday all day.
You know what?
Because we're coming close toan hour, I believe you want to
play the start of that game.
I've played, yeah let's do it.
All right, so that'd be fine.
With the Knives Out 30 moviehas been in the talks lately
about like James Bond himself istrying to fight for it to get
into the theaters, I believe, instead of just streaming, which
(46:30):
I think it did last.
For the second one, I rememberwatching it in theaters for like
I think it was only for likeless than a week, but then it
was 10 days.
I want to say but then now he'sfighting to like hey, this needs
a theatrical release, which Ithink he's right like.
These movies are great, thesemovies are phenomenal.
Speaker 1 (46:48):
He was proven that,
dude, they get $0 for putting it
on Netflix.
Or you go make, even if it's$50, $60, $70 mil, and then
people are more excited.
Yeah, definitely, and it'sTommy the Maverick all over
again.
Speaker 2 (47:05):
Yeah, I'm thinking
what's making these movies great
?
It just has great acting, butjust a great cast.
These are star-studded casts tothe point where what's making
these movies great?
It it just has well greatacting, but just a great cast
like.
These are star-studded cast tothe point where, like I think
it's fun when they do these like, oh, let's put these actors
acting skills to the test bymaking them act in this drama
and like, see who they candeceive and who can really hide
something behind their acting.
(47:25):
Um, I love this.
So I thought this would be afun game, for we picked our
dream cast for the next knivesout movie.
I think they already startedcasting it, if I'm not mistaken,
but these are going to be ourchoices for a future knives out
movie.
This is a murder mystery movie.
We have six people each.
I don't know if you pickedwhich one you would pick as a
killer, but I did.
Okay, I can.
(47:46):
I have two options but I havetwo options, but I'll narrow it
down.
Yeah, this is obviously.
It's not including um, I keepcalling james bond, but his real
name is um what's?
His real name, daniel craig.
Daniel craig, this is notincluding him.
He's the one.
We're not gonna mess with hischaracter.
All right, did you want to gofirst on this one?
Speaker 1 (48:06):
how do you want to do
it?
Do you want to go one for one,or do you want to go through all
six?
Speaker 2 (48:10):
I kind of go through
all six because I got reasoning
for why I picked them.
Speaker 1 (48:14):
Okay, then I got All
right.
So first reason up front everysingle one of these has a Marvel
superhero, okay, marvel actor.
Should I say mine for this one?
My pick is Florence Pugh.
Speaker 2 (48:28):
That's great, that is
very great.
I wish I thought of her.
Speaker 1 (48:32):
I think she would be
perfect for this who done it
Like.
She can play a lot of differentroles.
She can play like a you knowanything.
I think she's our like linchpinhere.
I think Glenn Powell, cause yougotta go with somebody who's
who's hot right now.
I think he has the perfect, uh,like Chris Pratt role, but like
, uh, just that extra star power.
(48:53):
I I almost want to say he's myvillain, cause he would be that
arrogant person or he can playlike the sympathetic, like stud
there.
Um, I'm just out of pure crazyenergy.
I don't know if you follow himand this will be hard because
he's coming off an Oscar, kieranCulkin.
Speaker 2 (49:13):
Okay, okay, yeah.
Speaker 1 (49:17):
I think that crazy
attitude like fast paced energy
would do us well.
Speaker 2 (49:22):
He would be the one
freaking out as soon as the
murder happens.
A hundred percent before iteven happened.
Why are we here?
What are we doing Like?
Speaker 1 (49:28):
just making the cast,
like really feel bad.
I also have JK Simmons in here.
Happened, why are we here?
What are we doing?
Like just making the cast, likereally feel bad.
I also have jk simmons in hereI could see that okay overall
he's taking a lot more fun.
He's doing more fun things.
Invincible.
He only has to say lines likeget him back in here.
Get him back in here.
Uh, one, two, three, four gotjohn boyega.
(49:49):
And who?
Speaker 2 (49:50):
I haven't heard that
name in a minute.
That's what.
Speaker 1 (49:52):
And that's what I
need the audience to see.
I don't want to watch johnboyega.
Everyone's like okay, um inthere.
And then I had two more, soI'll narrow it down.
I think I want jack black withmy, my wild card pick again,
(50:15):
somebody who just fits into thisworld but can play it like I
think of him in um, and uh, uh,the kevin hart movie, the uh
jumanji, kevin harth, the rockjumanji, I think a very
jumanji-ish, like wild goofydude does he play a girl now?
Speaker 2 (50:32):
exactly interesting,
okay, yeah, so a little bit all
over the place there I almostsaid dave batista, like oh, I
forgot, he already was in one ofthese movies.
Yep, nope, he's your killer, john blackjack.
Why is your killer?
Speaker 1 (50:45):
no, no, I think I'll.
I think I want glenn powell oh,glenn powell's, your killer.
Speaker 2 (50:48):
Okay, okay, I think
like the first one.
Speaker 1 (50:50):
Obviously we had
chris evans.
Second one we had, uh, edwardnorton I think glenn powell kind
of would fit that.
Or florence pugh, because, again, lynchpin, you always
think it's like the big nameactor, but because there's so
many in here it would work andwe've never had a female killer,
and I think that would be very, very good twist and keep it
fresh yeah, that that'd beinteresting.
Speaker 2 (51:11):
I also went around
picking hot actors.
Right now I kind of wish I didolder, a little bit older, but
these are the ones I picked forgood reasoning.
The first one I got, JennaOrtega, who plays, you know, she
definitely plays that darker, Ido.
Speaker 1 (51:26):
I think she's good.
Speaker 2 (51:27):
She's great at
playing that darker role.
You know we've seen her fromwednesdays a couple of similar
roles.
Uh, number two I got donaldglover.
This is also after seeing mrand mrs smith.
He has that time to keep hiscool when everything goes down.
He's very valuable.
Dude.
Did you ever watch atlanta?
No, but I see clips of it allthe time and I want to he would.
Speaker 1 (51:46):
That's who I'm
envisioning in this.
Speaker 2 (51:48):
That would be
hilarious uh, number three I got
steven young okay, so all right, I went invincible, you went
mark all right, yeah, he's he.
Yeah, I went, mark.
He's incredible.
He's incredible actor.
I think he deserves morechances to do his.
Have you seen him in beef?
He's great in that movie, yeahyeah.
So I should say um, you alsomentioned you picked an avenger
(52:11):
for your movies.
I also picked an Avenger.
I got Chris Hemsworth.
Uh, have you seen him in thathorror movie?
Okay, have you seen him in thathorror movie?
I can't remember what it'scalled, but at that motel or he
goes around like um.
Oh, the uh yeah yeah, see alittle darker side from this
(52:33):
kind of play, this kind of role.
Okay, number five this is anolder character, but this is to
deceive you.
This is for you to think it'shim most of the time, and I
think this character could do itreally good.
John berthal.
John berthal okay, he's thedeceiver of this movie.
You're gonna think it's him theentire time.
All right, he's your batistacharacter yeah, the killer in
this movie.
This is after seeing hisnetflix movie um ted bundy.
Speaker 1 (52:58):
I'm going zach efron
listen, I'm put zach in
everything yeah, that's okay, that's okay with me, yeah, yeah,
I'm gonna iron.
Uh, iron claw broke me in a wayI still have not recovered from
, so I think like the firstmovie you came on for this
podcast was firefly.
Speaker 2 (53:14):
I think it was called
um.
Speaker 1 (53:16):
He was great in that
movie too, like the movie itself
was just made, but that moviewasn't great, but he was the
best part about it for sure yeah, so he definitely hasn't played
.
Speaker 2 (53:23):
I could play a more
serious role.
I want to see him a moreserious role like he's great and
funny comedic roles, um, butlet's drama it up a little bit.
He was great in Ironclaw.
Can't wait to see what his nextmove is.
Actually, his follow-up rightafter the Ironclaw was Ricky's
to Nicky, so I don't know whatthis guy's going to do.
Speaker 1 (53:39):
He just shows that he
has range and that's okay, yeah
.
Speaker 2 (53:44):
Brandon great first
episode.
Great first episode.
I want to post our two picks onTikTok so I have people chime
in.
Great first episode, brandon.
I can't wait to do the next onewith you.
We're going to go back andforth between hosting these
things and we're going to playsome more games in the future.
We talked about a couple drafts, so we might do some similar
stuff to that too.
Yeah, absolutely.
Let's give a movierecommendation for tonight for
(54:07):

Sitting at home.
Speaker 1 (54:16):

Speaker 2 (54:41):

Netflix movie Intergalactic.
It's an animation one.
It's a dull animation one.
It's a very good, chill vibes,one that I love a lot.
I'm actually gonna go with.
Watson, kid Cudi, who's alsofamous right now for Ditty
Trials.
So leave off of that.
