Speaker 1 (00:05):
excuse me, is anybody sitting here?

Speaker 2 (00:07):
sorry, this is taken, sorry glenn, if you had the
chance to change or to have thepowers, the skill set of any one
of the thunderball characters, who would it be?

Speaker 1 (00:21):
well, there's a lot of different choices.
The Russian lady, what's hername?
Oh, the mate in Florentine Pew.
So she has like a traditionalset of like yeah.

Speaker 2 (00:33):
I know.

Speaker 1 (00:34):
Where she can fight.

Speaker 2 (00:35):
She's like a Black Widow.
She's like Black Widow.
You've seen the movie BlackWidow, right?
Yeah, yeah, it's her sister.

Speaker 1 (00:41):
Red Guardian similar, but he's a super soldier.
Yeah, so that'd be cool.

Speaker 2 (00:46):
And he's funny man.
He was the funniest part ofthis whole movie.

Speaker 1 (00:50):
He was like a dad.

Speaker 2 (00:51):
He was like the MCU dad in this whole movie.

Speaker 1 (00:55):
I'd probably want to be like Bob.
What was his superhero's name?
Sentry.
I'd want to be Sentry.
That dude was like a god inthis movie.
He was very similar to Mewtwoin Pokemon.

Speaker 2 (01:06):
Okay, some people would say Superman.
But yeah, mewtwo, I guess itworks too, yeah because Mewtwo
was an experiment.

Speaker 1 (01:13):
He was created and then he just lashed out of
control and it was tough to stop.
Have you seen the live-actionPokemon movie?
No, that's something right upmy alley though.

Speaker 2 (01:26):
Yeah, mewtwo was a big character in that movie too.
I think I talked about it onthis podcast before.
But welcome back to this.
He's Taken, where I'm your host, rob Miranda.
I've got a recurring guest, mrCaptain America himself, glenn
Steele.
Thanks for coming on, glenn.

Speaker 1 (01:34):
Yeah, thanks for having me.

Speaker 2 (01:40):
I love coming on here .
I don't want captain americamovie that's right.
So that was technically yourfirst premiere of the mcu, but I
feel like this is your firstmarvel premiere, like of a good
marvel movie, because this had alot of more theater reactions,
wouldn't you say?

Speaker 1 (01:56):
than captain america, definitely.
I have one theater reaction inparticular was uh, when um hold
on.

Speaker 2 (02:03):
This is a spoiler warning.
We are gonna be talking aboutspoilers in this movie, so yeah
uh, when bucky, what's his name?

Speaker 1 (02:09):
bucky barnes yeah he was in the movie for like four
or five, six different times andthen he shows up as winter
soldier and the whole theaterclapped.
Yeah, I was confused.
I'm like did you guys not seehim in the eight other scenes
before this?

Speaker 2 (02:23):
the winter soldier, or seb Stan I should say,
himself has him and TomHiddleston, the guy who plays
Loki, are the only actors who'vebeen in all phases of the MCU.
What?

Speaker 1 (02:34):
does that mean?

Speaker 2 (02:35):
So up until, like the first Iron man, all the way to
the first Avengers.
That's the first phase Up untilafter that point.
Until I want to say Guardians Icould be wrong about that it
was the Phase 2 and then Phase 3that ended with Infinity War,
not Infinity War Endgame.
I think this is the end ofPhase 5 right now we're at.

(02:57):
It started in phases that theyannounced, so I think Fantastic
Four is officially the start ofPhase 6, if I'm not mistaken.
I know nothing about FantasticFour, so we'll talk about that
towards the end, because thatwhen we get to the end, credit
scenes because it's a big moviethat's lined up to come in in
just a couple months, in july, and that's also the last marvel

(03:17):
we're going to be getting marvelmovie.
We're going to be getting untilnext may, I believe, the
avengers correct, the avengersit's setting up.
It's big.
Like a lot of the mcu, like thepast two phases has been leading
up to nothing but questionslike why haven't they touched on
this?
Why haven't done this?
I feel like we got a lot of theanswers answered in the
thunderbolts movie.
Uh, we're going to talk aboutlike leading up to it and, um,

(03:39):
we're also going to be doing adifferent review at the end of
this second half of this podcastwe took.
We picked the movie chroniclewith michael b jordan.
We're going to talk about thesecond half of this one.
I'm excited about that becauseit kind of after watching it,
after watching thunderbolts, like it kind of goes very well
with this movie yeah, I knowwe'll get to it, but that movie
was not what I expected and I Ithink I pitched you an idea in
the parking lot and, um yeah, you weren't expecting what I was

(04:02):
justseeing um.
So anyways, thunderbolts, thisis a team filled with characters
throughout the mcu that Iliterally never thought we would
see again, like uh, the guy whofake captain america, um,
played by russell wyatt johnwalker.
I didn't, he was in the show.
I didn't think I was gonna eversee again.
Even even um the red guardian,I think I described when I did

(04:26):
that review like I I probablywould never see this character
again.
And they proved me wrong.
They got all the nobodies andthe whole mcu and they brought
them together and to team up.
The biggest surprise to me waslike um the ghost, the one who
can phase in and out fromant-man 2.
Never thought I was gonna seeher, completely forgot about her
.
To be honest, her and taskmasterI had to go look back at
ant-man 2 like details, and oh,I do remember her yeah, she was

(04:50):
a big part of that movie, but Iknow there's like the last I've
seen of it.
Um, so you knew almost nothingabout this plot or anything like
that going in no um the onlything I knew.

Speaker 1 (05:01):
People said it was misfit heroes, so I assumed it
would be similar to Guardians ofthe Galaxy.

Speaker 2 (05:06):
It does give Guardians of the Galaxy kind of
vibes, especially with the humorand stuff like that.
I mean, when they firstannounced this movie, I was not
excited about it at all, like Ireally didn't think I was going
to care about any of thesecharacters, but like they picked
a bunch of nobodies and nowlike they're fan favorites.
John Walker is someone youliterally hated in the show and
now he's probably one of thefunniest characters in the whole
movie.
Oh, I hated him.

(05:27):
Yeah, that's what I just said.

Speaker 1 (05:29):
Oh, I hated him Even in the movie.

Speaker 2 (05:31):
Even in the movie.
Yeah, really.

Speaker 1 (05:32):
Yeah, why Fake Captain America?
My Captain America doesn't walkaround with a gun, shooting a
pistol at people.
How about that scene where he'sshooting?

Speaker 2 (05:46):
and he whips like the magazine out.
Yeah, that's pretty cool.
Yeah, he was, he was interested.
We're gonna go through eachcharacter in a minute but, um,
coming up to this movie, I meanobviously, like it's the end of
phase five, so a lot ofcharacters that we already knew,
like we don't have to spendtime on their backstories or
anything like that.
It's literally everyone justdealing through the trauma and
teaming together to fight thegreater good and fight the
greater evil.
So, um, leading up to this, marketing was crazy.

(06:08):
Marketing was great for thismovie.
I thought like the trailerswere everywhere, the posters and
everything like that.
Um, florence pew is very activeon instagram promoting this
movie.
I love her.
Florence, the lady who playselena, I love her.
She did her own stuff in thismovie, including a scene in the
very beginning when she jumpsoff a building.
She really did that in reallife.

Speaker 1 (06:28):
Is she Russian?
Not in real life.
She's American or?

Speaker 2 (06:32):
British.

Speaker 1 (06:33):
I would say American.
So that's a fake accent.

Speaker 2 (06:36):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (06:36):
That always trips me out when people do spot on
accents like that.

Speaker 2 (06:40):
I can't do accents.

Speaker 1 (06:41):
No, I can do a pretty good crikey mate If I ever need
an Australian role there's thatI can't do accents.
No, no, I can do a pretty goodcrikey mate If I ever needed an
Australian role there's that.

Speaker 2 (06:50):
When's the last time you'd seen an Australian
character, though In anything?

Speaker 1 (06:54):
I feel like a few weeks ago I watched Crocodile
Dundee 3.
That's a movie, so yeah,crocodile Dundee.

Speaker 2 (07:03):
Classic film.
You're just like you know whatI'm feeling like watching
Crocodile Dundee 3.
You're freaking crikey mateNice, nice.
You know what?

Speaker 1 (07:11):
I love about this movie Not even getting into any
of the plot or anything really, not even just this movie in
particular, but movies ingeneral, where I don't really
know anything about it going in,don't know anything about why
it's named the name.

Speaker 2 (07:25):
I mean, you're not even a big comic book fan really
in general, so you don't knowanything about the characters.

Speaker 1 (07:31):
But movies in general , where it's called something
Like Chronicle Sure.
Why was it called that?
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (07:38):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (07:39):
Thunderbolts.
I had no idea why.
I figured it was going to be aguy like.
Maybe Pikachu shows up, I don'tknow.
Zapdos.

Speaker 2 (07:47):
Thunderbolts with an asterisk.
That's a very important part ofthe movie the title, I should
say, because we'll talk about ittowards the end of the credit
scene which is like a bigspoiler.
We just talked about it in thegroup chat this morning how it
was like a Marvel kind ofspoiled it already.

Speaker 1 (08:00):
It's only been out for three days.
I saw that tweet.
That was messed up.

Speaker 2 (08:04):
It's only been out three days and they're already
spoiling it Like damn.
What if I had to work thisweekend, you know?

Speaker 1 (08:08):
Yeah, they tweeted out hey, enjoy this movie.
Oh, here's what happens.

Speaker 2 (08:13):
Yeah, here's what the asterisk means here's yeah,
it's not really a spoiler ofanything that happens.
It's just like that's one ofthe most impressive things about
this movie, like, oh, I wasn'texpecting that, not at all, yeah
.
So, anyways, going back to themovie or the previews, like you
know, it's a great promotion.
They came out with their ownpopcorn bucket.
Amc released their own versionof popcorn bucket, which is just

(08:34):
like a regular tin with thelogos all over it.
But I believe it was Cinemarkwho had the Captain America Red
Guardians helmet as a pocketbook, very cool, which I mean it's
not huge, but some people couldwear it too.
I wish I could.
I really thought AMC had it andI was going to buy it, but it
kind of let me down.
Theater Theater was packed.

Speaker 1 (08:57):
It was.

Speaker 2 (08:58):
We bought tickets and we had to sit on the side
because the AMC IMAX wascompletely full.
By the way, I reviewed Sinnerstwo or three episodes ago on
this podcast.
I went again two nights ago andit was still packed.
It was incredible.
That's a good-ass movie.
You're going to see any othermovie this weekend?

Speaker 1 (09:20):
Yeah, I've heard nothing but good things about
that movie.
I know people have seen it fivetimes.
I've seen it.

Speaker 2 (09:24):
Three good things about that movie.
I know people have seen it fivetimes.
I've seen it three times and itstill hits.
Michael B Jordan and RyanCoogler are fucking amazing in
that movie.
Anyways, going back toThunderbolts, the reason I bring
that up is because Thunderboltsis now in IMAX.
It bumped Sinners out of IMAXand I had to go see Sinners in a
regular theater.
It didn't hit the same.
You can definitely tell hefilmed it for imax and seen in a

(09:46):
regular theater.
Yeah, it kind of brought itdown a little bit.

Speaker 1 (09:47):
What's the difference ?

Speaker 2 (09:48):
just the size of the screen, size of the screen, the
way they shoot it, like theprecise of, like uh imagery it's
.

Speaker 1 (09:55):
It's a little bit different huh, I didn't know
movies were filmed for imax.

Speaker 2 (10:00):
Yeah, it's just something just started, not even
too long ago within within thepast, like probably seven or
eight years, I would say.
Um, going back to it, thetheater reaction was amazing,
like there's claps and shoes andstuff like that.
You didn't quite get that incaptain america, maybe like one
or two, but there were severalscenes in this movie that had

(10:21):
people clapping and laughing alot and stuff like that.
You got on the train so fuckinglate, dude.
You should have been there forEndgame and I wish man
Spider-Man no Way Home.

Speaker 1 (10:30):
You know what that's.
What time travel is for, though.

Speaker 2 (10:32):
Yeah, I know you might get that next year with
the new Avengers movie.
That's what.

Speaker 1 (10:35):
I'm hoping for this was the closest I've been
slacking.
I don't have much left, though.

Speaker 2 (10:48):
Yeah, I mean, I've been slacking on shows like
Daredevil just finished, I stillhaven't even watched that.

Speaker 1 (10:51):
Amazing, by the way.

Speaker 2 (10:53):
Yeah, which leads, you know there's a lot of people
complaining like because thismovie takes place in New York
City.

Speaker 1 (10:58):
I was just going to bring this up.

Speaker 2 (10:59):
I was like where's daredevil, where's spider-man,
all these characters and stufflike that?
I mean, the logical answer is,like, at the end of this movie,
this is jumping way ahead thevoid.
Like people just got sucked inthe void, so we're assuming they
did too.
And you said you finisheddaredevil.
Right, I did.
Like you know, phil's fisk isthe new mayor, and on top of
that didn't he like end it withmaking like a curfew for

(11:21):
everybody too?
Yeah, they basically went intomartial law that was not in the
movie at all.
So like I don't know, it's kindof confusing.
I don't think we'll ever get ananswer like that.
I don't even think we'll seefisk and on the big screen,
because I think, uh, the actorwho plays them like came out
legally.
They can't do that, orsomething like that.
It's interesting.
It's interesting how it playedout, but I just want to dive

(11:44):
right into the movie now.
This movie for those who don'tknow is about actors finding
themselves on an unserved deathtrap and an unconventional team
of anti-heroes must embark on andangerous mission that will
force them to confront thedarkest corners of their past.
Directed by Jake Shearer, who Idon't believe has directed
anything in the MCU quite yet.
He's been known for doing stufflike short series and other

(12:08):
movies that he's very great.
The Beef on Netflix he directedit's one of my favorite shows
of all time.
He did a great job in thismovie.

Speaker 1 (12:17):
The guy that directed this movie was the Beef guy.

Speaker 2 (12:20):
Have you seen the show the Beef?
I've seen a little bit of it,yeah, as a matter of fact,
steven young, who stars in that, that guy asian guy, he was
originally casted to be sentryin this movie.

Speaker 1 (12:33):
Oh, I'm glad they made the choice they did I think
he could have pulled it off.

Speaker 2 (12:36):
I would like to see that.
I love steven young, thischaracter, bob, played by um
lewis pullman.
He did pretty good in it.
I thought it was cool.
I can't complain anything abouthim.
He was actually amazing.
But Steven Yeun, I think hewould have been amazing at it.

Speaker 1 (12:51):
He gave me like huh, maybe this guy could possibly be
on meth.

Speaker 2 (12:57):
Sometimes like how he played it.
He played like a confusedsurfer dude, like a Kelso from
that Somebody Show kind of vibe.
But that's part of his charm.
That's why everyone loved him.
I think walking out the theaterI don't know if you heard them,
this couple in front of youthey were talking about how much
they loved Bob in this movie.

Speaker 1 (13:11):
Really Good for Bob.
What's?
His name Century.

Speaker 2 (13:19):
Yeah, I've never seen that actor in anything People
are comparing him to.
Well, he recently played in thetop gun maverick.
Uh, his name was also bob inthat movie too, so that's why
people are laughing at that, sooh, I didn't.

Speaker 1 (13:31):
When he said, hi, my name is bob people, a lot of
people laughed I think it's justa funny line was it yeah, which
that line was in the trailertoo, though.

Speaker 2 (13:42):
So, oh, um, so let's go through the beginning, like I
mean yelena, who's doing anopen monologue that we later
discover she's actually tellingthe hostage this um, you know,
she's like I'm just depressed,it's like a void I'm in.
You know, like I go home tonobody.
You know I do the same thingover I go out, I kill, I get a

(14:03):
mission, I kill, I come home tonobody, I drink and then like
this, you see, like walk off theside of a building, kind of
parallel to the black widow, howshe jumped off that one, that
that an end game, that cliff, but also like gives you the
sense of feeling like, oh shit,is she killing herself?
Kind of thing.
It was kind of depressing likethis.
This movie dealt with a lot ofmental health, which is why,

(14:23):
like I think it related to a lotof people Feeling trapped and,
you know, like helpless andstuff like that, like in the
same routine over and over again.
You know John Walker is alsogoing through depression too,
because the whole stuff thathappened in the Captain America
show.
He can't pull himself out ofthat.
Like he has led to a failedmarriage, he led to a shit, dad,

(14:46):
um.

Speaker 1 (14:47):
So he was kind of fucked up on his own oh, I do
remember what happened at thecaptain america show well, yeah,
it's been a while.

Speaker 2 (14:53):
He killed and he was dishonorable charge and just
yeah bashed a guy's head in yeah, yeah, it was pretty fucked up.
That's why he like he's notcaptain america anymore, but he
still carries around a captainamerica shield.
I thought it was kind of oddtoo.
It's not vibranium or oranything like that.
I thought maybe at least it'llbe an adamantium, because we
introduced that in the lastmovie.
Right now it's just regularmetal, maybe different, like a

(15:17):
special kind of metal, butthere's nothing special about it
.

Speaker 1 (15:19):
Um, so anyway, leona, so at this, the fake Captain
America Walker.
He's not Captain America, sohe's just like independently
he's agent um agent, somethingSecret agent, I don't know.

Speaker 2 (15:34):
So he works for the government.
He works for um Maria.
No, sorry, uh, valentina, whodoes she work for she?

Speaker 1 (15:43):
I think she was introduced in Captain or so she
just hires these like him andYelena for like contracting
kills and stuff.

Speaker 2 (15:51):
So her character.
She was introduced in severalmovies so far like end credit
scenes, but she had a big partin Black Panther 2.
I don't know if you got thereyet.
She was introduced as a CIA thehead of CIA and she was
introduced as a CIA the head ofCIA and she was working on this
project.
She wanted resources, which iswhy she's heavily involved with
Wakanda, or she was highlyinterested in Wakanda for their

(16:13):
resources.
And she brings up the point inthe court hearing this morning
saying like, and not thismorning in the movie, saying
like, hey, like, we need somekind of protection.
Like the Avengers aren't hereanymore, they're not coming back
.
So she was experimenting.
She was in charge ofexperimenting on like the like,
the people who made bob and um,she didn't even know bob existed

(16:34):
.
She thought he was dead.
She was in charge of um.
She appointed herself to comeup with that solution.
So she goes and um, thegovernment finds out that we're
not doing this bullshit, bullshit and like.
So so things don't get tiedback to her, she hires Yelena
and John Walker and the ghostand taskmaster pretty much to go

(16:57):
to destroy all the evidence iswhy you see Yelena in the
beginning destroying thatbuilding on the floor, that
floor on the building, and thenthe only pieces left to destroy
are the assassins, like the one, like those only loose ends,
which is why they were allcalled to that room to kill each
other, and, even though theyprobably knew they wouldn't kill
each other, they thought theycould at least, um, pretty much,

(17:21):
set them on fire and kill them, which is very dark, right?

Speaker 1 (17:24):
yeah, that was pretty fucking dark so hey, go down to
this uh room a mile deep into amountain.

Speaker 2 (17:30):
I'm gonna burn you alive in there so then, uh, once
they figured out what'shappening, the escape, they
decided to team up, which I waslike this is very true, like
that scene where ghost had to goopen the door.
I thought for sure she wouldhave left them for dead.
And then, like, how do theydisplay their powers?
First of all, I like johnwalker in this movie.
I thought he was very funny.
He was hilarious in this movie, like his he.

(17:54):
But the only thing I thoughtafter the whole captain america
show, you think he would changehis attitude a little bit, be a
little bit more open-minded.
After finding out, like, yeah, his way isn't always the only
way.
Because he was a dick, he kindof like forced himself to, or
wanted to be like in charge ofeverything, yeah, point in case,
like when they go out that out, like that uh long tunnel going
upwards, he made the call like, hey, I want to get myself up.

(18:17):
And then, if you guys survive, cool kind of a dick in this
movie, um, bob.
Before then he lost his memory.
He can't really remember how hegot there, what he, what it's
all about.
I thought there was gonna belike a love attraction between
him and yelena, didn't you?

Speaker 1 (18:33):
in the beginning.
I did for sure yeah.

Speaker 2 (18:36):
So he goes out with them and they find this.
They find a way to think it'sout, which is like a long a room
, no way out, but up.
They don't even know what's outthere, really thinking about it
like how do they know a doorwas up there?
You know, I like the way theydisplay john walker's strength
in this movie.

(18:56):
I was like you know what I gotthis guy's like?
He jumps and he just disappears.
You know what I'm talking about.
Yeah, that was pretty sick andhe comes down hard as fuck, but
that was cool as fuck.

Speaker 1 (19:06):
I didn't know he could do that Because he's a
super soldier.

Speaker 2 (19:07):
Yeah.
So anyways, they have thishilarious cool moment where they
go back to back and they allclimb up there.
My thighs were hurting afterwatching that.

Speaker 1 (19:17):
Oh yeah.

Speaker 2 (19:20):
A mile long I think it was over a mile long going up
step inch by inch and stufflike that.
Like god forbid, you make amove and they, like they work so
hard.
After like an hour or somethinglike that, they look down.

Speaker 1 (19:29):
They can still see the floor so like damn credit to
bob for even thinking of thattactic, though but then you get
out there and he's like, oh fuck, how do we get out of this?

Speaker 2 (19:35):
now?

Speaker 1 (19:36):
they did that and I was like I didn't even think of
that yeah.

Speaker 2 (19:40):
So then if you get out of there and you line like
this is where the Red Guardianscome to play too they come pick
her up.
It was a hilariousfather-daughter moment.
Like he comes and then she'sembarrassed by her dad Hilarious
, together they have a scene.
We're skipping over a lot ofstuff, which I want to because I
don't want to get too much intodetail, but let's just go over.
Like the characters Yelena, some, like when she showed up to

(20:11):
her dad's house and knocked andhe thought it was doordash,
yeah, so I said leave it on theporch.
Yeah, yeah, um, a lot of humor.
Let's talk about the regardingthat he was.
He was funny in the black widowmovie.
I remember that.
But I think he upped up hishumor.
How he was just a supportivedad in this movie, how he got
touched, how she named the teamat the thunderbolts after her
little soccer team, um, even atthe end, like he's like, oh,
don't worry about the copyrights, I fixed it, it's avengers with
a z.
You know just small jokes likethat throughout the whole movie.
And he did display a goodamount of muscle in this movie.

(20:31):
Like, um, saving that littlegirl from the the debris, and
everything like that great, he'sthe muscle, he's like the new
hawk, basically uh, yeah, Iwould say hawk, or would you
think of him more of a thor?

Speaker 1 (20:45):
I would say, thor, just because he's funny.
Yeah, okay, it's a good pointfunny good point, yolana,
obviously replacing black widow.

Speaker 2 (20:51):
She was great in this movie, not just with her action
scenes, because she did all ofher, most of her scenes by
himself.
All these characters did almostjohn walker did uh, russell
wyatt um, she was great watchingcinematically.
But she also did like a lotwith her acting drama-wise.
You felt bad for her character.
She felt relatable.
I felt sympathy for her, whichis wild because she's an

(21:14):
assassin.
Do you think she does a greatjob of replacing the Black Widow
in this movie?

Speaker 1 (21:19):
I think she did solid .

Speaker 2 (21:21):
Yeah, do you think she's better than Black Widow?

Speaker 1 (21:23):
I heard someone say she's a better Black Widow than
Natasha Romanoff I don't thinkyou could say she's a better
black widow even, uh, I meanblack widow was doing crazier
flips and stuff and and andmoves than she was.

Speaker 2 (21:36):
I think she even credited her in black widow, if
I'm not mistaken to being alwaysbetter than her yeah, black
widow was definitely better.

Speaker 1 (21:42):
That's why she had to die yeah, I guess.

Speaker 2 (21:46):
Yeah, um, ghost in this movie.
She didn't have a whole lot ofdialogue.
She was pretty important tosome scenes, like how they got
off the extreme shirt place, um.
But the end of it's kind ofrandom.
I thought there was on there.
She was on the team taskmastertaskmaster who was the first one
killed in this movie?
I was very shocked.
They shot her like in the head, like okay, she's not in the
movie, no more.
Who was the first one killed inthis movie?
I was very shocked.
They shot her in the head, likeokay, she's not in the movie,

(22:07):
no more.
She was in the Black Widowmovie in the comics.
She's a badass killer.

Speaker 1 (22:13):
I don't even think it's a woman in the comics yeah,
they laid her down in the first15 minutes of the movie yeah,
which I think in the trailers.

Speaker 2 (22:20):
They did show her in the trailers, but it was like
obviously edited in.

Speaker 1 (22:26):
I don't know why, but seeing them all with guns that
early in the movie it justmessed my head up.
Like the avengers did they haveguns like what did, black widow
did, thor didn't they keptamerica.

Speaker 2 (22:38):
Not really.
He had the first.
Iron man has repulsors, that'strue.
I guess I don't know what it'slike to get hit by that, though
you know.
Is it just like a punch, or isit like a laser going into you?
What do you think?

Speaker 1 (22:53):
that is.
I think it's a laser punch.
Okay, because they do fly backwhen they get hit.

Speaker 2 (22:58):
Right, but you don't see any blood, so it doesn't
look like it pierces any skin oranything.
I don't know who else are wetalking about.
We didn't talk about, um, let'ssay, sebastian Stan.
We can talk about SebastianStan, the Winter Soldier Dude.
I feel like ever since, uh, theCaptain America Winter Soldier,

(23:23):
that was his prime.
Like it was Sebastian Stan'sprime in this movie.
I feel like since then theyjust made him weaker and weaker
throughout every time we've seenhim Like he wasn't that
impressive in this movie.
He was more impressive thanthis movie than he was in the
captain america show and, uh,the winter, the last captain
america movie, um, but I wasjust like he didn't do much in
anything else but this one.

(23:43):
He kind of came back a littlebit.
He, he showed his, uh, wintersoldier skills with the gun,
like the gun he had in um, thewinter soldier movie.
Um, I don't like the way helooked in this movie his hair,
his hair yeah, on the motorcycleit did give terminator vibes,
like especially when he wasflipping the gun and everything
like that he was cool.

Speaker 1 (24:03):
What is he now?

Speaker 2 (24:04):
a congressman I was gonna say another reason like
that was random so they just hadto make him look like a
congressman I guess.
But it was random to have hischaracter be a congressman or to
join politics at all.
Really Take him out of thismovie.
Take Winter Soldier out of thismovie.
I think you still get the samemovie, if I'm not mistaken.

(24:24):
He doesn't really add too muchto this movie.

Speaker 1 (24:27):
Nah, not much.
You're right about that.

Speaker 2 (24:30):
Yeah, yeah, really.
I mean, he did take them alldown, like the red guardian
ghost and john walker could take.
he couldn't take down century nono, that was pretty funny
seeing, like, how he got us backup and, yeah, he sat him back
down.
But sebastian stan's the man.
I love him and anything he's inhe's um.

(24:51):
A lot of these characters are.
Almost every character whosurvived in this movie is
confirmed for the new avengersmovie, which is kind of fucked
up.
They announced that because itkind of like spoiled it like,
yeah, they all live um.

Speaker 1 (25:07):
So where are the avengers right now?
Like who the, the aven, theoriginal Avengers, yeah.

Speaker 2 (25:13):
Black Widow's dead Hawkeye.
He had a show Hawkeye kind ofpassing the torch to somebody
new.
But he just went on aninterview recently.

Speaker 1 (25:24):
I heard this this morning.

Speaker 2 (25:26):
They offered him to come back for season two, but
they literally offered him halfof what he was going to make and
he's like fuck that why?
He even said I'm not asking formore, just pay me what you
already did.
And the show is called hawk eyehis character you know it's
kind of fucked up.
I heard it's because he was inlike a car accident or something
he, he said that in there I waslike you guys think, because I
got ran over, but he got ranover a snowblower.

(25:46):
I don't know if you rememberthat oh, that was him.
Yeah, I remember that happenedhe because, like I got ran over,
you guys think I'm worth lessnow, like, what the fuck is that
which you know?
Good for him for standing upfor himself, but I don't know
where that leaves his character.
Really.
I guess we'll find out in theavengers again, maybe.

Speaker 1 (26:02):
Um he wasn't that significant.
I mean, I never watched hawkeyeyeah, it's a good show.
Hayley steinfeld's in there butthe only thing I remember of
him during this Marvel saga isthe scene where Black Widow died
.

Speaker 2 (26:16):
Yeah, I guess Hawk you kind of I don't know if
you've watched the She-Hulk showyet A lot of people hated that
it kind of Hawk.
This isn't a spoiler, but Hawkhas a son now I don't know if
you knew that I did not.
The show ends with Hulkintroducing his son to She-Hulk
and their whole family, becauseShe-Hulk is his cousin.

Speaker 1 (26:38):
He has a kid with his cousin.

Speaker 2 (26:39):
No, no, he goes to Saqqara, which is where he was
in the second Thor or the thirdThor movie.
He goes out there because theyreached out to him saying they
needed his help and he comesback.
I guess they were reaching outto him because, hey, you got a
son over here, so he brought himback to earth.

(27:00):
Don't know where they're goingto introduce him later, thor,
we've seen him and throw loveand thunder.
I don't know where we left him.
He's still exploring space kindof thing, trying to find
himself, trying to find peace,um, and that show ended with him
like hercules I don't know haveyou got that far throw a love
and thunder.
Yet I don't think I've seen loveand thunder okay it ends with

(27:20):
an uncredited scene wheresomeone's probably gonna be
chasing him for a while.
Um iron man, obviously you knowhe's died.
Captain america, you know he'slike old.
Now no one knows where he's at,like you don't know if he's
still living or what's the dealwith that.
Um sam, cap yeah, steve rogers.
so yeah, of course, the originalman, um avengers, aren't around
anymore, which is why at theend of cats in america I don't

(27:43):
know if anyone's ever talked tothem like the writers for each
of them like they talk to eachother like because sam wilson
was gonna go out and make thenew avengers and then they also
make these guys the new Avengerstoo, I don't know and then at
the end of the movie it's like, well, santa's fighting the
rights for the Avengers name.
I was like it doesn't seem likehis character.
You know what I mean.

Speaker 1 (28:02):
Well, at the end of the movie.
I don't think the plan was tomake them the new Avengers.

Speaker 2 (28:09):
The whole time Was it was it in real life and their
reality?
No.

Speaker 1 (28:13):
Yeah, but the writers know.

Speaker 2 (28:16):
The writers do know.
You know what?

Speaker 1 (28:18):
I mean oh, yeah, well , yeah, but like at the end of
the movie, when she has thepress conference, she like
sneaks them onto the stage atthe end, like she was just like
saw an opportunity right.

Speaker 2 (28:30):
Yeah, which is they are government funded too, like
that's how they're paying foreverything.
But also, sam, isn't sam wilsonalso government funded too?

Speaker 1 (28:41):
because, like the president, did assign him the
make the new avengers andofficial government.
Yeah, asked him one-on-one,even though back.
Yeah, even though he's not thepresident anymore.

Speaker 2 (28:47):
I think it would still stand, if I'm not mistaken
.
Um, it's interesting.
I don't know how it's gonnaplay out.
It didn't seem like SamWilson's character for me to
like to really care about that.
If anything like hey, like letme lead this team, let me put
this team into shape, and stufflike that.

Speaker 1 (29:00):
Where was he at?

Speaker 2 (29:02):
Don't fucking know Cause that where the end credit
scene.
That was like over a year laterafter the events of this
happening, 14 months, they saidyeah, yeah.
Yeah, we didn't even talk aboutcentury.
Let's go back a little bit.
Century was Bob himself was acool character.
He was a relatable character.
Century this is where it dealta lot with mental health.
You know, like you have thisdark darkness inside of you
which is true to the characterin the comics.

(29:23):
Um, he's like scared.
He was a scared little kid, like guy who didn't have nothing
going for him in life and stufflike that, and that kind of led
to his depression and then helet that depression consume him
a little bit and it's almostlike the Void and Century are

(29:44):
two different people.
They're just fighting overcontrol of the body.
Basically, I feel like whenit's the Void, he has that cool
dark shadow effect which isamazing.
It looked cool, it lookedbadass.

Speaker 1 (29:52):
It was really cool.

Speaker 2 (29:53):
And then, when it'sry , he was in that gold outfit.
How did you feel about thecostume?

Speaker 1 (29:57):
I thought it was super basic.

Speaker 2 (29:59):
I thought so too.
Super basic, I mean, it wasvery true to comics.
But if you're going to do thatkind of tight like this guy yeah
, he had abs and everything likethat At least bulk him up a
little bit or something.
You know it was super basic.
He looked like mermaid man kindof.
Kind of, I didn't care for theblonde.
I don't think he looked good.

(30:19):
That blonde either.
It looked weird.
Maybe if we he was alwaysblonde maybe I could see it.
But yeah, I didn't like it yeah, but his strength man like you
would punch the shit out of him, wouldn't even flinch.

Speaker 1 (30:30):
Oh, he was untouchable.
He was mute too, bro he wasinsanely powerful.

Speaker 2 (30:36):
Like it was like scary how powerful this guy was.
And bob was never even meant tobe sentry either.
He just happens to be survived.
He someone mentioned like hewas just a test subject.
They were, they wanted somebodyelse for that role.
But bob was like fuck this, Ilike this power.
Like why do I have to answer toyou?
I'm like a god.
That was scary alone.

(30:57):
That scene that was prettyintense.
Like you're face to face withthis guy who was saying like
you're in my way, I want to getyou out of my way and do
whatever the fuck I want.
Insane.
And like he truly thought byputting people in the void he
thought he was helping them.

Speaker 1 (31:12):
I don't know what do you think?
If but when he wasn't that darkperson.
He was so nice.

Speaker 2 (31:19):
If you were to get sucked into the void because the
void like puts you against yourlike worst traumatic memories
do you think you would know whatyou would see in the void?
Probably I don't think I'veever done anything that
traumatic, that like, if you'rethinking about it.

Speaker 1 (31:33):
I don't think I've ever done anything that
traumatic, that like thinkingabout it like it wasn't that bad
.
Is that what happens in thevoid?
You see bad stuff.
I missed that.

Speaker 2 (31:38):
Yeah, that's what happened to like um, Yelena, she
saw like that, that, that inthe forest, that her friend
getting shot by that man, andthat was because he touched her.
Yeah, he was putting the, shewas putting the void, and that
that really happened.
She lived through that.
It was like a dark memory inher mind.

(31:58):
Bob's was like, you know, hisparents arguing in the basement
or whatever it was.
Yeah, so you see, like yourdeepest, darkest, I wouldn't say
fear, but traumatic events.
And Bucky Barnes, he went inthe void too.
So can you imagine what he saw.
He even makes a joke about it,but I feel like we were kind of
robbed to see his fight.

Speaker 1 (32:16):
Yeah, um, and they were worried about using bob as
a test subject because he's adrug addict, right?
I think they use him because hewas super unstable, though, and
it turned out to be bad, Ithink they saw this guy oh
there's another drug addict.

Speaker 2 (32:32):
Like he doesn't give a fuck what we put in him.
So I think that's why they kindof picked him off, like I said
he was.
They didn't care if he survivedor not.

Speaker 1 (32:41):
Yeah, he was living life.
When they found him he was outover in Thailand just looking
for drugs Insane.

Speaker 2 (32:48):
Insane.
Yeah, this movie is pretty darkonce you put it through a lens
like that.

Speaker 1 (32:53):
I mean they talk about doing meth.

Speaker 2 (32:55):
But like this movie is also very fun.
Don't get me wrong, I liked it.
I liked this movie a lot.
It's the first MCU movie thathad a great reaction at the end
of it.
Like I said, Captain Americawasn't that great.
The Guardians 3 was actually agood movie.
I can't even remember what cameout last year.

Speaker 1 (33:12):
I thought Captain America.
I don't remember.
If you remember, when I was on,I said it was an amazing movie.
I think I gave it three or fourbig booms.

Speaker 2 (33:19):
I think you dressed up as Captain America on that
show too.

Speaker 1 (33:22):
Did I.

Speaker 2 (33:23):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (33:24):
I might have, but this movie just completely blew
away.
Captain America, in my opinion.
It was unexpected.

Speaker 2 (33:32):
It was really good.
Okay, let's play a game now.
So you've seen the majority ofthe MCU.
Okay, so this is the newAvengers.
Now I guess anybody can callthemselves the Avengers too, it
doesn't really matter.
It seems like Sam Wilson isputting together an Avengers
team.
Who do you think will be onSam's?
Do you think we're going to getanother Civil War kind of thing
too?
Avengers team who do you thinkwill be on Sam's?

(33:53):
Do you think we're going to getanother Civil War kind of thing
?

Speaker 1 (33:55):
too Well on Sam's, I think Thor's back.

Speaker 2 (34:01):
Okay, thor, let's just say there's 1, 2, 3, 4, I
guess, 5 people on the newAvengers.
So you got Sam Wilson, you gotThor.

Speaker 1 (34:12):
Well, since we're bringing back Ghost, let's bring
Ant-Man.
Okay, that got Thor.

Speaker 2 (34:14):
Well, since we're bringing back Ghost, let's bring
Ant-Man.
Okay, that's three.

Speaker 1 (34:16):
Gotta have Spider-Man in there.
He puts asses in the seats.

Speaker 2 (34:20):
I didn't think about that.
I don't know if he can for therights, but oh, is there an
issue there?

Speaker 1 (34:25):
Maybe Potentially an issue with Spider-Man.
Okay, noted.

Speaker 2 (34:30):
How about Falcon, the new Falcon?

Speaker 1 (34:32):
Yeah, of course.
Okay, I remember in the moviehe showed a lot of personality.
That means he's coming soon.

Speaker 2 (34:37):
Give me one more.

Speaker 1 (34:40):
I'll give you one more right now.

Speaker 2 (34:45):
How about Shang-Chi?
That might be an interestingone.

Speaker 1 (34:48):
Oh, I forgot about Shang-Chi.

Speaker 2 (34:53):
He's going to be in a new Avengers movie.

Speaker 1 (34:54):
He's in it.

Speaker 2 (34:55):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (34:55):
Oh well, he's an Avenger, yeah him.

Speaker 2 (34:57):
Okay, interesting.
Like I said, I wonder if he'sgoing to be Clash of the Clans.
Are they going to team up orare they going to hate each
other?
No, I'm the Avengers, I'm thereal Avengers.

Speaker 1 (35:04):
I might take the Thunderbolts in that fight.
Comparison-wise comparison wise, I could see that they don't
have any super soldiers.
Thor might be the onlychallenge, and they already have
the team chemistry.
They've been through a bigbattle together.

Speaker 2 (35:20):
I think ghost technically beats ant-man's ass
in the second movie.
So, like he can, they can takehim.
Spider-man might be a challengeif they do have him.
Shang chi might be challenging, but I think yolanda could
probably take him.
All right, that's a good choice.
That's a good choice.
Uh, I'm excited for the newavengers movie.
And then we could talk about theend current scene, like
obviously, like it's 14, well, there's a funny one the wheaties

(35:42):
, the wheaties, post mid-creditscene.
I'll uh, regard there's so muchwe haven't talked about, like
this is kind of like last minutething.
We're doing this, but and Ihaven't we did this episode was
delayed because I just got backfrom out of town and, uh, I
really did want to watch thismovie again to have a fresh mind
on it, but I just couldn't havetime for it.
Um, the Wheaties, the post themid credit scene.

(36:04):
Very funny, it's a funny take, you know, like this lady's
buying Wheaties or cereal, theRed Guardians is like.
The Red Guardians is like, hey,why don't you buy this one?
This one looks like a goodgroup of people.
And she goes okay, she grabs it, she just puts it down at the
end of the aisle.
Very funny, yeah, that wasfunny.
And then we get to the endcredits scene at the very end,

(36:25):
which is also the longest endcredits scene out of all the MCU
.
They broke a record with thatthis one we just saw yeah, it
was like 2 minutes and 40something seconds.
Huh it, this one we just saw.
Yeah, it was like two minutesand 40 some seconds.
It sets off 14 months later.
They are officially the newavengers.
They live in the watchtower.
They have a new uniforms.
Bucky looks bad as fuck in thismovie and that in the new
uniform he looks cool as shit.

(36:47):
Um, this is where we find outthat sam wilson kind of has beef
with him.
I thought we actually would seesam a little bit.
I kind of hoped we did.
Um, sam wilson is kind of hasbeef with him.
I thought we actually would seeSam a little bit.
I kind of hoped we did.
Sam Wilson is kind of beefingwith him a little bit about the
copyrights, which is kind ofinsane of me that he would even
care about that.
But they're also the big thingthat led up to it.
They're getting a distress callsaying something's entered the

(37:07):
atmosphere and they look it upand it's a Fantastic Four shit.
Like they're coming to the mcuI know you mentioned you didn't
know anything about thefantastic four, just like
spider-man, how sony owns therights of spider-man.
For years fox owned the rightsto the x-men and the fantastic
four and that's why they werenever in the mcu, but recently
it may be like four or five, maybe like three or four years

(37:29):
ago.
Marvel recently acquired therights back for them, which is
why now you're starting toslowly see X-Men movies, x-men
and like the Fantastic Fourcoming to the MCU now.

Speaker 1 (37:40):
So the Fantastic Four ?

Speaker 2 (37:41):
they were astronauts yeah, yeah, you've never seen
the original like the 04.

Speaker 1 (37:47):
I'm just going based off of what I saw in the
previews so they were astronauts.

Speaker 2 (37:50):
They go up into space for some mission.
They get caught in some cosmicrays which gives them their
powers.
I'll definitely send you somelinks so you can.
So they were astronauts.
They go up into space for somemission.
They get caught in some cosmicrays, which gives them their
powers.
I'll definitely send you somelinks so you can learn about
their history.
This also kind of givesspoilers about.
It's presumed that theiruniverse, the Fantastic Four,
are coming out in a couple ofmonths.
It's set in a differentuniverse, which leads us to

(38:13):
believe that their universe isgoing to end, which is why
they're coming here.
It kind of spoils a little bit.
I feel like I'm excited for it.
Pedro pascal's mr fantastic hasa great cast and it looks great
from the trailers.
I don't know if you've seen anytrailer.
They did show a trailerbeforehand it looks good.

Speaker 1 (38:27):
Are you excited for it or yeah, I'm definitely gonna
watch that.

Speaker 2 (38:30):
I, I think you should watch the original fantastic
fours's, like the first two.
Chris Evans, who plays CaptainAmerica he's the Human Torch in
those movies too.
It's pretty fun.
He was also in Deadpool andWolverine as the Human Torch.

Speaker 1 (38:43):
I don't know if you remember that no, I saw it, but
I don't remember that this moviehad a lot of heart.

Speaker 2 (38:52):
This movie had a lot of humor.
It answered a lot of questionswe've been waiting for.
There's still a lot out there,um, but this one it didn't raise
any new questions either, youknow like an end of crime scene
that didn't lead to anywhere.
So I felt just that alone makesus a better movie than the past
phase that we've seen.
What would you give this movieOne out of 10,?

Speaker 1 (39:13):
one out of 10, this movie solid 8.9.

Speaker 2 (39:17):
I would get a solid eight.

Speaker 1 (39:17):
I liked it a lot.

Speaker 2 (39:19):
Yeah, would you go see it again in theaters?
I?

Speaker 1 (39:20):
would, okay, I would you want to go right now let's
go.
No, I'm just joking.
The only question that thismovie left me with is well,
number one where are theAvengers?
Number two where's Daredevil?

Speaker 2 (39:35):
Yeah, which that I don't think we'll ever get an
answer for.

Speaker 1 (39:38):
Because it's the same universe, right, yeah, 100%.
Same city Number three.
Universe, right, yeah, 100,same city, number three.
Who are the new avengers goingto be?

Speaker 2 (39:47):
and all my questions are avengers related, so also
another cool, interesting factthe russo brothers are coming
back from the new avenger movies.
I don't know if you know whothey are the guys who directed
endgame the captain americawinter soldier.
They directed infinity war.
The better civil war, thebetter mcu movies these guys
directed and it was actuallythey said after Infinity War
they were never going to do itagain.

(40:08):
But it's actually a pretty hugedeal that they're coming back.
They agreed to come back forthese next two movies.

Speaker 1 (40:13):
The new two Avengers.
So they're directing them.
Yes, oh nice, and I don't knowabout writing them.

Speaker 2 (40:18):
They could be writing them, I don't know.
But the end credit scene thatwas just filmed a couple weeks
ago and the DeRusso brothersdirected that too.
Very cool, very exciting newsWith them.
I trust everything in theirhands.
What?

Speaker 1 (40:31):
did you think was going to be in the end credit
scene.

Speaker 2 (40:36):
I thought we would sure see cameos from somebody
Somebody direct, like Sam Wilsonat least.
It would have been cool to seeNick Fury.
I don't know what the fuck he'sup to now.
Is he alive?
I don't remember the last timeI seen him was it infinity war?
No, it was captain marvel 2.
Have you seen that one yet?
No, not two.
I don't think he dies in thatone captain well, he was in

(40:56):
secret invasion.

Speaker 1 (40:57):
I should say that's the, the female yeah, yeah.

Speaker 2 (41:03):
Brie Olsen yeah, brie Larson, fuck um.
Elizabeth Olsen is the ScarletWitch, so you're close, kinda
the in the end credit scene.
I thought we were gonna seeDoctor Doom or something Doctor
Doom related you know we mightsee something like that in the
new Fantastic Four in the endcredit scene.
But I think Galactus is the bigthreat in that Fantastic Four.

(41:26):
I gotta send you some homework, dude.

Speaker 1 (41:29):
It's on YouTube.

Speaker 2 (41:31):
Explaining everything .
It's cool.
I give this an 8 out of 10,though it's one of the better
movies of MCU after Infinity WarI'm sorry, after Endgame.

Speaker 1 (41:42):
Best movie I've seen this year so far yeah, it's
because you haven't seen sinnersyet.
I'm telling you it's a good assmovie.

Speaker 2 (41:48):
That's probably true yeah, um, now let's transition
into, like the movies, it's asimilar kind of theme.
Someone gets powers and theylet their emotions get the best
of them, not their betteremotions, like anger and
depression, gets to them andthey think they're above
everybody and they go on akilling spree.
Basically, it's the same conceptbut, this is like what if bob

(42:10):
was 17, you know?
Yeah, this movie came out 2012.
I don't know if you remember itever coming out, but it's one
of michael b jordan's firstmovies I do not remember this
three high school friends gainedpower superpowers after making
an incredible discoveryunderground.
Soon, they find their livesspinning out of control and
their bond tested as theyembrace the new, dark, their
darker sides.
Uh, michael b jordan stars inthis, alex russell and dane

(42:36):
dehan, who plays the maincharacter in this movie.
I have to address, like theobvious thing, like how the
movie was filmed.
It was filmed filmed as if Ihad a camera in my hand and I
was just walking around with it.
You're watching the point ofview of everybody, basically,
instead of a traditional camerajust looking at our lives.
Yeah, pov, yeah.

(42:57):
Did you like that or did youfind that annoying?
I kind of found it annoying.

Speaker 1 (43:01):
I didn't mind it.
I thought it was actually kindof cool.
It's annoying.
I kind of found it annoying.
I didn't mind it.
Yeah, I thought it was actuallykind of cool, you know, because
it's not just handheld cameras.
There were scenes, let's say,in a hospital.
They would show you thesecurity cameras in the hallway
like so little stuff like that.
I thought that.

Speaker 2 (43:14):
I thought it was pretty cool this guy goes out
and buys a 500 camera.
I don't know how he gets it, Ishould say, but I was like this
is 2012, 2012.
There was iPhones around theretoo, like why didn't this guy
just film with his iPhone?

Speaker 1 (43:27):
You know what I mean.
This movie did seem.
It reminded me of 2012.
Because I was also a senior inhigh school in this movie.

Speaker 2 (43:34):
I graduated in 2014.
And I remember when this moviecame out, I think I was friends
with this girl who invited me tothe youth group, kind of thing,
and they play this movie.
That's how I first saw it howthey said it did a good
representation.
If me and you got these powers, like we would probably be doing

(43:54):
the same shit.

Speaker 1 (43:55):
Oh man, I'd be flying all over town just like they
were right.

Speaker 2 (43:58):
Would you tell anybody like you gotta keep that
secret say like do you thinkyou keep the secret from me?
Like you got it and I didn'tknow you, I don't have it, I
never knew anything about it.

Speaker 1 (44:06):
No, you wouldn't tell me I'd mess with.
No, I would tell you becauseI'd like you've messed with.
The fuck, my friends yeah, Iwould definitely mess with you
guys that's a lot of trust totell somebody too, because these
guys were.
They were, they could fly, theywere like telepathic they, they
could control anything aroundthem.

Speaker 2 (44:22):
First of all, let's go down the line.
The main character is Andrew, who plays this kind of loser in
this movie.
Definitely a school shootervibes kind of kid he was the
whole movie gave me schoolshooter vibes exactly yeah, big
time he was kind of a loser.
He was kind of an outsider.
He was a very shy kid.
He just decided one day I wantto buy a camera and start

(44:42):
filming everything.
Nothing wrong with that, likeit's kind of weird, but like
that's your niche.
And there's also another girlin the movie the same kind of
thing too that she added nothingto the story um, except for her
camera to, so we could watch it.
Yeah, because like you don'teven see her at the end of the
movie.
What the fuck happened to her?
yeah so anyways, uh, so hedecides to keep a camera because

(45:02):
he also has an abusive dad too.
He kind of wants his evidence, which he felt bad for that one
dude.
Some of the bullying in movies,I don't know, it just doesn't
seem.
I never personally experiencedthat.
It just seemed kind of out ofpocket with some of the shit.
They were literally like one ofthe scenes he finally lost his
virginity but he ended upthrowing up on the girl and

(45:23):
people were literally making funof him to his face.
With that.
I was like I don't think I'veever seen that in my school.
Do you think that was like howpeople are bullying now or or
ever bullied?
I thought that was prettynormal, you think so?

Speaker 1 (45:35):
yeah, I thought his reaction was I could, I, I, I
could see that too.

Speaker 2 (45:39):
Definitely school shooter vibes, yeah for sure you
open up his locker.
It's probably a name on a listof names, so, anyways.
So he, his cousin, who was, Iwant to say, popular, he was
more comfortable with people.
He invites him to this party.
And him and michael b jordan, all three of them find this like
random hole in the middle ofnowhere.
Um, they go down there and it'sthis like something alien, I'm

(46:04):
assuming alien or something likethat and they, they wake up.
You don't even, it's a cutscene from like that night to
maybe like a week later.
I would say.
They wake up.
They already discovered theyhave powers.
You kind of missed the wholepoint of a movie.
So, um, it's telekinesis, right, where they're going to control
things with their minds.

Speaker 1 (46:23):
Telekinesis, yeah, where they can lift things.
It's likekinesis right, wherethey're going to control things
with their minds.

Speaker 2 (46:25):
I think it's telekinesis, yeah, when they can
lift things.
It's like they're almostgrabbing you with an imaginary
hand.

Speaker 1 (46:29):
I would say they're like.
They became very similar toMewtwo.

Speaker 2 (46:35):
Another Mewtwo reference yeah.

Speaker 1 (46:37):
They could fly.
They can do psychic abilities?
Literally they were Mewtwo.
I don't think they could talkto each other though, but they
had kind of like somethingsensing.
Maybe eventually they wouldhave got there.
Yeah, feeding?

Speaker 2 (46:50):
yeah, because they were getting stronger day by day
and they sensed something waswrong with the other one
nosebleeds and a headache andhear the like uh, the other
person's voice, yeah, yeah, sothen, um, I don't know.
Discovering the powers, learning how to use them that
was the funnest part of thiswhole movie.
They go to a toy store and fuckaround with people.
They move people's cars.
Dude, I would have a field daywith that bullshit.
I wouldn't tell anybody.

(47:10):
Would you try to be a superhero?

Speaker 1 (47:12):
if you had that?
No, I would do exactly what theschool shooter did first, I
would enter the talent show as amagician and win that.

Speaker 2 (47:19):
Did you have a talent show at your school?
No, we didn't.
No, did you have anything coollike that?
We barely had books.
That's why your school shutdown, huh.

Speaker 1 (47:26):
Yeah, but what would you do with telekinetic
abilities?
I'd be a magician.
I'd do magic tricks and justblow people's minds.

Speaker 2 (47:34):
Definitely cool bar tricks.
Like just cool bar tricksHanging out with the good boys
and like, hey, watch this shit.
Yeah, yeah, just fucking like, lift 18 bottles of the air,
juggle them and shit or when hedropped the deck of cards and
then that was sick.

Speaker 1 (47:47):
Put them like what did people think was happening,
I don't know?

Speaker 2 (47:51):
and then like, and then like a month later you find
out what happened with him aslike oh shit, like we.
That guy was doing that shitfor real, you know some point to
do together I would have afield day, and on top of that
they learned they could.

Speaker 1 (48:03):
Oh, that's the first thing that came to mind when I
saw that they got thesetelekinetic powers.

Speaker 2 (48:08):
Oh, you went in there not watching the trailer or
anything.

Speaker 1 (48:11):
Didn't know anything about this movie.

Speaker 2 (48:12):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (48:13):
Didn't know anything and I saw they could do
telekinetic abilities and Iimmediately thought of Mewtwo.
I'm like these thieves aregoing to start flying.

Speaker 2 (48:30):
Do you just want to watch a pokemon movie?
I know I've been talking aboutmewtwo a bunch, yeah, but
michael b jordan stars in thismovie too.
I forgot watching this movielike this is a spoiler, spoiler,
spoiler.
I forgot watching this.
I forgot he dies.
Yeah, he dies, he gets killed.

Speaker 1 (48:40):
I was shook by that low-key yeah, a little earlier
to kill him off, I think.

Speaker 2 (48:44):
Right Right.
It's like an hour 20 minuteslong.
It's a short movie.
How?

Speaker 1 (48:49):
old was he?
Is this Friday Night Lights, michael B Jordan.
You ever watch that?
No, your face tells me you'venever seen Friday Night Lights.

Speaker 2 (48:57):
No.

Speaker 1 (48:57):
You would like.

Speaker 2 (48:58):
Friday Night Lights Aren't.
I think they bring that showback, if I'm not mistaken.
Is it the one with that onewhite guy?
He plays John Reacher now, notReacher, I don't know names, I
don't know.
What's it about?
What's it about?

Speaker 1 (49:11):
It's about high school kids in Texas, just
relationships and family stuff.

Speaker 2 (49:18):
It's a series.
It's like seven seasons.
He's in all seven seasons.
No, he's in like the last, likefour, I think, the last four
seasons.

Speaker 1 (49:26):
Yeah, damn, I didn't know that yeah, he plays like uh
, one of the main charactersmichael b jordan is the man.
He was young yeah, oh, in thismovie, when he died yeah at his
funeral they showed a picture ofhim from when he was in uh Wire
.
You ever see that show.

Speaker 2 (49:44):
No, I didn't know.
He was in the Wire either.

Speaker 1 (49:45):
Yeah, he was, as they showed his character in one of
those little framed pictures.
It was from the Wire.
A scene from the Wire.
How crazy is that.
How crazy is that when he hadthe braids, when he was like
probably 13, 12.

Speaker 2 (49:59):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, and yeah, yeah, yeah.
And first of all, no onethought the most popular kid in
school was hanging around thislike there's nobody, you know.
And on top of that, like, let'sgo back to like, uh, the main
character, andrew.
He starts getting picked on atschool.
He just like rips someone'steeth out of their mouth and no
one.
Hey, maybe we should call thiskid out of class.
That's school shooter shit.

(50:22):
So then, um sure and he also, his dad, is a abusive alcoholic.
In this movie too, beats theshit out of him all the time,
and until andrew, like finally, because I could, I could end you
right now, he says I couldcrush you then he drops him off
of the one of the top floors ofthe hospital.
Insane.
That end battle scene waspretty dope and the fact that

(50:43):
that was filmed like the pointof view of people filming on
cameras over nearby.
I think after a while itstopped doing that.
I don't know if you noticed itlike stop, it's like a regular
camera work, almost.
Stop filming from the point ofview of cameras and just do like
a regular.

Speaker 1 (50:59):
Oh no, because that at that late point in the movie
I was thinking every time theyswitched okay, it's a camera
from the building.
Okay, this is the camera thatthat girl was holding in the
slug bug.
Yeah, it was.

Speaker 2 (51:12):
It was an epic battle .
They were pretty spot on.
Yeah, If you've seen this shitgo down, that's insane.
Like if it were real life, whatwould your reaction?

Speaker 1 (51:19):
be Dude, I'd be freaking out.

Speaker 2 (51:27):
Seeing?
Would you be reaction dude?
I'd be freaking out seeing aperson fly through the air doing
all that.
They went through someone'sapartment like I would like.
That's like right now we'rejust chilling.
Right now guy flies off to thefucking wall.
What I'm freaking out.
I think it.
How much do you think?
I poop right here how much ofthe world population think he's.

Speaker 1 (51:38):
He's jesus coming back either think he's jesus a
or b, he's mewtwo.
I could only be those two.

Speaker 2 (51:46):
Just one of those two , yeah, yeah you can go out
immediately looking for pokemon.
He's mewtwo.
Um, would you rather have thesepowers or just have a tail that
you could do anything with?
Oh, that's tough, like, let'ssay, a six foot long tail yeah,
like a kangaroo tail.

Speaker 1 (52:05):
Yeah, be pretty sick be sick right, if I'm standing
in this long lineup, let me takea seat on my tail.
Yeah, I guess you could do that, or I could like bounce up and
down like tigger does on histail you could, or you could
like, just grab a beer from thefridge with it.
It's true, yeah, nah, I'mdefinitely flying you can't be
flying the way that they wereflying in this movie is how I

(52:25):
envision flying would be likejust straight in the subtle
detail about like they had towear coats because it's so cold
out there you know, like that'svery real yeah but they were up
in the clouds as high as planes.

Speaker 2 (52:40):
You'd think they were in some kind of government
radar kind of thing too maybethey're so small, planes are big
.
Yeah, man can you?
Imagine being on a plane tooand seeing that shit out of your
window.

Speaker 1 (52:50):
It'd be so cool.
Like, can you imagine if I justjumped out of that window right
?

Speaker 2 (52:52):
now he's like alright , see you later, Rob.
Yeah, that's what he did in themovie, remember?
Yeah, yeah, secret for not longthey didn't keep it for long no
well, the one friend did, uh,wasn't they matt the cousin?
Well, he did tell that girl init.
I would be such a simp, and Iwould be such a simp and the
whole city of seattle saw himflying through the air, causing

(53:15):
destruction, and then he justdisappeared I was thinking too
like if you wanted to keep yoursecret at the end still like
where, where andrew drops hisdad and he flies up to the catch
them, was like you probablyjust caught him with your powers
instead of actually flying upthere, you know, definitely.
So I was like you kind ofexpose yourself right there,
which at that you're probably aflight or fight kind of mode, so
it probably didn't occur to him.

(53:36):
I would immediately make asuperhero costume.
What would your costume looklike?
He kind of makeshifts his ownlike firefighter costume that
was so lame.

Speaker 1 (53:46):
I didn't like that.
And then he got burned.
There's an explosion.
Yeah, my costume um you doing acape gotta have a cape.
You would have a cape.

Speaker 2 (53:59):
Gotta have a cape okay, color scheme what you
think uh, probably, I don't know.

Speaker 1 (54:04):
Red, white and blue is classic american okay red,
white and blue is classic.
Um, I'd probably have like sometype of not only a cape, but I
also want like a mask slashhelmet, a cowl is that what
that's called?
I think so, a cowl, a cowl.
Wow, new word, that's a newword I just learned.
Think so, a cowl, a cowl.
Wow, new word, that's a newword I just learned.

(54:25):
I'd have a cowl and I'm goingto be flying, so I'd probably
want it to look kind of like afighter pilot thing.

Speaker 2 (54:33):
I would probably do Mexican flag colors just to piss
off the president.

Speaker 1 (54:38):
That'd be funny yeah.

Speaker 2 (54:41):
That'd be tight.
Yeah, would you like a onesielike century, or something
different, more modern?

Speaker 1 (54:48):
you would do a onesie like that yeah and a cape and
everything yeah, am I still fat?
Yes, onesie, a tight fittingonesie, but I got the cape got
the cape.

Speaker 2 (54:59):
Would you rather have these powers of this movie
Chronicle, or Century's Powers?
It's kind.
Would you rather have thesepowers of this movie Chronicle,
or Sentry's powers?
It's kind of similar, but Idon't know if Sentry was
telekinesis too, though.

Speaker 1 (55:10):
Yeah, sentry was.
Yeah, they're very similar.

Speaker 2 (55:13):
Oh, he was, because he threw the Red Guardian out
the window and he brought himback.

Speaker 1 (55:16):
Yeah, so yeah.

Speaker 2 (55:17):
But he also has.
Okay, so you couldn't reallyhurt the Sentry.
I Okay, so you couldn't reallyhurt the Sentry.
I'm assuming you can't reallyhurt these guys either.
That too, but you couldn't hurtthese guys either, because,
remember, they stabbedthemselves with a fork.

Speaker 1 (55:27):
And also remember Sentry.
They tried to punch Sentry inthe face and he, just like you,
couldn't.

Speaker 2 (55:33):
He ate that shit.

Speaker 1 (55:34):
And they did the same thing in Chronicle.

Speaker 2 (55:36):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (55:36):
When he tried in the bedroom scene.

Speaker 2 (55:37):
He tried to punch him in the face.
He he couldn't hit him.
They're both Mewtwo how aboutthose scenes like where they
were testing their powers andthey threw the ball?
They threw the ball at eachother and just fucking ripped
each other in the face?
That would be us doing it.
That would be sick.

Speaker 1 (55:50):
I would love to have these powers, especially at like
17, 18.

Speaker 2 (55:53):
I think the biggest.
I wish they would've came outwith a sequel.
The first one would have beenfollowed matt on like a going on
, like a journey to find whathappened to them and like

(56:14):
government shit and stuff likethat you know, finding the
government and stuff like that.
And the second one was gonna beum.
The second option was a groupof three girls find that power
and Matt kind of mentors them alittle bit too.
Powerpuff Girls Kind of yeah, did you see that they were going
to make a live-action PowerpuffGirls years later, after the

(56:36):
show?

Speaker 1 (56:36):
No.

Speaker 2 (56:37):
It sucks so bad as adults.
Yeah, it sucks so bad.
The trailer got released onlineby accident and you can see why
it was canceled before it wasreleased Mojo Jojo in that biop.
Mojo.
Jojo was played by a real lifedoctor, like a guy.
He was Mojo and his son wasJojo.
I hate it already.
Bubbles was a prostitute.

(56:59):
What she was a prostitute, yeah, that checks out.
Uh, buttercup the green one Ithink she was some kind of
firefighter, if I'm not mistaken, and the main one was a
buttercup yeah, no, notbuttercup blossom.
Uh, I don't want to say she waslike a, like a scientist or
something like that, but bubblesbeing a fucking prostitute.

(57:21):
What the fuck are we doing here?
Yeah, that show got cancelledbefore it even saw the light of
day.
What would you rate?
Chronicle one out of ten.

Speaker 1 (57:32):
I liked it a little better than I thought I was
going to.
You told me in the parking lotit was called Chronic.
I know I'm sorry.
I was looking up Chronic.
I couldn't find it.

Speaker 2 (57:41):
You put two and two together.

Speaker 1 (57:42):
Yeah, I watched Chronicle, but I don't know like
a 7.6.
Yeah, I would give it that itwas pretty good.

Speaker 2 (57:52):
I would give it that.

Speaker 1 (57:53):
Would you like to see a sequel?
It kept my attention and it wasa short movie.
It was like 90 minutes.

Speaker 2 (57:57):
Very short, very short, 90 minutes, no sequel, no
sequel.

Speaker 1 (58:02):
But matt, what do you think he's doing in his life
now?
Um assuming he's not flyingaround the world I don't think
he would be a superhero.

Speaker 2 (58:13):
I think he would help people if he sees people
needing help, but like I don'tthink he goes out of the way to
like be a superman kind of thingyou don't think he's living a
normal life?
I think he is living a normallife with a family yeah, he said
he wanted to go finances tofigure out what happened to them
.
I do believe that too.
So I don't know if he's likesnooping around government
buildings or or what exactly, and you never find out what
happens that would be so cool tohave those powers, though,

(58:33):
because you could just go dowhatever you want, man no one
could tell me shit.
No one could tell me to dowhatever you want.
Fly anywhere.
Yeah, definitely.
All right, glenn.
So thank you for coming to thepodcast.
We're kind of running out oftime here, but thunderbolts is a
fantastic movie.
We're probably gonna go see itagain pretty soon.
Um may is coming up with newgreat movies.
We're getting the new missionimpossible movie, the new lilo

(58:55):
stitch movie uh, I feel like I'mmissing one, but anyways, july
is gonna be a big movie forsuperheroes.
We're getting Superman.

Speaker 1 (59:04):
And we're getting the Fantastic Four.
I don't know anything abouteither of those.
Even Superman I have never seen.
I know nothing.

Speaker 2 (59:13):
He's basically a sentry, basically, but from a
different planet, like he wasborn with those powers and he
has kryptonite.
Kryptonite's his weakness yeah,so thank you for coming on my
kryptonite's his weakness uh,yeah so thank you for coming on.

Speaker 1 (59:25):
My kryptonite is steak and shake.
Steak and shake, yeah, really,I had it the other day, dude,
it's so good this is for anyonelistening too.

oh, for next year.

Speaker 1 (59:55):
Yeah, I'll keep that in mind so that's a maybe I'll
take them maybe people don'tknow this too.

Speaker 2 (01:00:03):
The last episode for the Accountant 2, you were
actually here in the building.
You were like right behind thecamera, you were doing the
camera work for me.
