Speaker 2 (00:14):
Welcome back, episode
47.
It's me, jody, that would beAmanda, me.
And then we've got Winston, andhe's not going to say nothing
because he's laying there.
And then we've got Winston, andhe's not going to say nothing
because he's leaving here.
I found out this weekend thatAmanda loves women boxing.
Speaker 1 (00:30):
You need to tell the
truth.
Speaker 2 (00:33):
You wanted to watch
it.
You watched like four hours ofboxing.
You wanted the excuse that Iliked it.
Couldn't take your eyes off ofit.
Speaker 1 (00:41):
I tried to get you to
box and you wouldn't do it.
Speaker 2 (00:42):
Look at these chicks
hitting each other Because you
thought I would whip your tailwell, I get in trouble for
saying chicks, probably in eachother but hold up, back up a
minute.
Speaker 1 (00:52):
You made me stay in
my church clothes while we're
recording on a sunday again, which we say we don't like to
record on sundays but here weare.
Speaker 2 (01:00):
Does it always happen
on sunday?
Speaker 1 (01:03):
and you made me stay
in my church clothes.
I know, I don't like churchclothes.
Speaker 2 (01:07):
Well, we're working a
video and then storage on my
phone.
Here we go again Storage on myphone.
I don't have enough storage.
I can actually record it, butthen I can't do like if I go
into CapCut or anything.
Speaker 1 (01:17):
Stop recording
animals.
You know I do record a lot ofanimals.
Be done with the animals fishfeeding ducks.
Give me the attention that yougive the animals, but you know
you don't.
Did you see that?
You just passed?
Speaker 2 (01:29):
it along.
Speaker 1 (01:29):
I video these animals
because I don't know, you just
passed it along again somethingmight happen something crazy
well, you never know with mewhen something might happen
you're right, you're right soback to the whole boxing thing.
Speaker 2 (01:44):
So I kept seeing on
net Netflix to where they're
having women's boxing coming upon.
Was it the 11th?
Was that?
Speaker 1 (01:51):
Yeah, no Friday.
Speaker 2 (01:52):
Which would have been
the 11th right.
Speaker 1 (01:54):
Yeah, I told you it
was 11th.
Speaker 2 (01:58):
So I was like you
know well, that'll be something,
if you know, if we're available, if we're at home to watch or
whatever.
Well it got to be, you know, 7o'clock.
Speaker 1 (02:07):
So you made sure we
were at home.
Speaker 2 (02:10):
No Well.
Speaker 1 (02:13):
You made sure we were
at home.
Speaker 2 (02:15):
No, because I had a
you wouldn't let me do nothing.
Procedure done.
Speaker 1 (02:20):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (02:20):
It just worked out.
We got home about whatever time8.
Speaker 1 (02:23):
So he had this
procedure, so he could not do
nothing, so he could watchboxing.
Speaker 2 (02:29):
Yeah, so it was just
a few minutes before 7, and I
went to Netflix, I think it was,and then I saw hey, it's on
tonight and it says live.
So I click on there and it'slike a countdown three-minute
countdown for it, oh my goodness, but anyway.
So actually, when it startedstarted and it was at madison
square garden when it started wewatched and it's like 7 30 and
(02:53):
there ain't even close to havingsomebody box, so we just kept
turning on and off, on goingback and forth, and you actually
went and I went and done, donea live.
Speaker 1 (03:02):
I'm like you catch me
later.
Speaker 2 (03:05):
TikTok.
Yes, okay, on your nail.
Speaker 1 (03:08):
Yes, what is it
called Press-on nails?
Speaker 2 (03:11):
Your site.
If people wanted to go to yourTikTok, what is?
Speaker 1 (03:16):
it called.
That's all I'm asking.
It's just Amanda, I don'tactually know what my thing is.
Well, it might help if you dothat.
Speaker 2 (03:21):
It might help if I
did I was trying to give you a
little bit of a plug.
Speaker 1 (03:24):
Are you?
Speaker 2 (03:25):
But you went and did
that on TikTok.
Did a TikTok live Well, Ialways keep that up.
Speaker 1 (03:30):
Amanda Press on Nails
.
Okay, amanda Ratliff 3.
Speaker 2 (03:34):
Okay, so that's where
you do your Red Aspen stuff.
You show how to put them on andtake them on, it looks a little
different.
Yes, everything like that, yes,Okay, so finally, this was
going to be the first time.
Why is my phone locked up?
Speaker 1 (03:48):
Because you want to
use it.
Speaker 2 (03:50):
I know it says the
event was historic, marking the
first time an all-women'sprofessional boxing card was
streamed live on Netflix fromMadison Square Garden Scarden.
According to Netflix.
Speaker 1 (04:02):
You need a little
help there.
Speaker 2 (04:04):
Yeah, so the
headliners.
I watched all of them.
I'm not into boxing or anythinglike that, but there's nothing
on.
Speaker 1 (04:09):
I cannot find
anything really, we got all this
stuff, yeah, and we can't findnothing.
And we talk about that all thetime too yes, we do.
Speaker 2 (04:16):
So you know, it was
just something to watch because
these women they will beat up oneach other.
But I don't know.
I have boxed before with somebuddies, like one round.
You don't realize how longthree minutes is until you're
boxing with somebody you know.
Right, You're over there, whatare you doing?
Speaker 1 (04:37):
Well, I had a comment
on my video and I like to get
back to them, so I just repliedto them.
Speaker 2 (04:43):
Okay, sorry, go ahead
, i'm'm listening so these
rounds were two minute rounds,so it was not your average three
minute round, and I don't knowif they changed that for this or
if that's the women, if that'sthe rules for women's boxing.
I don't know anything.
Nobody had the four fights thatI watched.
Speaker 1 (04:58):
Nobody got knocked
out is that what you were here
for the knockout?
Speaker 2 (05:02):
well, I wanted to see
somebody struggle.
I really did Listen.
How rude, well you do.
You want to see somebody like, finally get one good punch in
and the other one startsstaggering, loses their legs out
from under them, whatever, likethat, or gets into the ring
ropes and then just gettingwaylaid on.
That's what I was waiting.
There was some waylaying goingon but nobody ever, you know,
(05:22):
went down.
Speaker 1 (05:23):
There was some
waylaying going on, but nobody
ever you know went down.
I think I went down with thefirst punch.
Speaker 2 (05:28):
Yeah, so every one of
the fights went 10 rounds, the
official 10 rounds, but the mainevent was Katie Taylor and
Amanda Serrano.
And that Taylor, she'd won two.
They fought each other twicebefore.
I think she's Irish, she's beatSerrano both times and this
time I was just for Serrano.
Speaker 1 (05:47):
So why did they want
to fight again when she's
already won twice Money?
Speaker 2 (05:51):
Money.
I don't know how much.
They said it was.
Millions of dollars is whatthis fight was on, so I don't
know if they got a couplemillion apiece.
Speaker 1 (05:58):
But they said they
weren't going to do it again.
Speaker 2 (06:00):
Is that what they
said?
Was this it?
Speaker 1 (06:03):
yeah, I would think
at the end of it they said, yeah
, no more I mean like why I?
Beat you three times you let mejust keep on.
Speaker 2 (06:10):
If I beat you, let's
go street fight if I beat you
one time and you want to rematchyeah, that's understandable if
I've beat you twice why do youeven want to do it?
again, the only reason I wouldthink it is because of the money
.
But I will say this, and I needto research this.
But you know, I told you whenyou know it's long and drawn out
, you know they have this intromusic and all this kind of stuff
(06:33):
.
It's pretty cool, it's hyped upby that main event.
You know Madison Square Gardenwas sold out.
I mean, there wasn't an emptyseat, it didn't look like it
anyway.
But that Katie Taylor the Irish, I think she's from Ireland.
Speaker 1 (06:50):
I'm pretty sure you
might need to check your facts,
I'm pretty sure.
Speaker 2 (06:52):
Okay, their flag is
orange, white and green.
I believe she came out to a Ithink it's a Christian song, I
don't know if it's a newer song.
It was saying like my king isthe redeemer, um stuff.
I was like I tried to listenclose.
I was like is that really achristian song?
Speaker 1 (07:14):
you didn't shazam it.
Speaker 2 (07:15):
No, I did not, you
should have shazam well, let's
go back to the storage on myphone.
I've gotten rid of shazam appjust so I could have extra
storage on my phone, okay.
Speaker 1 (07:26):
Be truthful you got
rid of Shazam so you could get
the bird app.
Yeah, marlin.
Speaker 2 (07:32):
Hey, if y'all are
bird lovers, if you like
watching birds.
Speaker 1 (07:35):
We could talk for an
hour on birds, if you like bird
feeders.
Speaker 2 (07:37):
If you've got a
hummingbird feeder, if you like
watching these birds in theevening times, anything like
that, get the Marlowe app.
I can't say that I found thison my own.
I found this through my sisterand brother-in-law, apparently.
As you get old, we all have thesame thing in common, except
for Amanda.
She's not quite.
Give her three more years andshe'll be up there with us maybe
(08:00):
, but as you get older, apparently birds is a thing that
you like to listen and watchand all that stuff.
But anyway, they tell me aboutthe Marlowe app and when you
download it, all you do is itlistens to the birds chirping,
singing, whatever and itidentifies them for you.
It'll let you know if it's awhat is it not a normal bird,
(08:27):
that you see Exotic.
Speaker 1 (08:29):
Well, no, I wouldn't
say exotic.
Speaker 2 (08:30):
That's a little out
there, huh yeah.
But anyway, any bird for youyou basically have to put in
your location.
So like we've got a neighbortwo houses down that's got a
cockatoo, well, it won't pick itup because it's just narrowing
down localized birds.
I mean.
So I don't know what a cockatoois or its origination, don't
(08:50):
know.
If we put that in there itwould identify what type it is.
Rare that's what I was lookingfor.
Rare it lets you know if it's abird that it picks up is rare
or not for this area.
But it's pretty cool.
Speaker 1 (09:05):
You know, you might
have up to 16 birds within a few
minutes of uh.
So does it keep thoserecordings when you're sitting
there recording it or whatever?
Speaker 2 (09:10):
there's a file in
there, but I don't that you.
You can look back and I don'tknow if you can I was gonna say
I hope, is that taking upstorage?
I think so I don't think youcan click and listen to it, but
you might can click it and seewhat it identifies yeah, because
it has the yeah.
Because it has the picture.
Speaker 1 (09:23):
I mean everywhere we
go.
Yeah, if he hears a bird, he'slike oh, let me get it out.
Speaker 2 (09:27):
But if it has, you
know, it pops up the picture and
all that stuff and you canclick on it and it tells you all
about it.
Speaker 1 (09:34):
It'll tell you you
know the female.
Speaker 2 (09:36):
You're like oh, I got
you on the boxing, yeah you is.
Yeah, I need to research, because it's very uncommon to
hear a Christian song that aboxer or anything like that they
come out to.
I just was not expecting that, especially with the lifestyle of
some of these women boxers.
I know that because they'retough, my goodness.
You know they're manly, theyare tough.
(10:00):
I couldn't get out.
Hey, when you saw.
Hey, I want to see the next day.
I want to see the next day.
I want to see the picture ofthem I don't know how they feel
when they got to be the nextmorning show me a picture of
their face, because if your eyesalmost completely closed friday
night, what does it look likesaturday morning?
Speaker 1 (10:17):
bad I know you feel
rough.
Speaker 2 (10:19):
Their bodies gotta
just be what about your nose,
you know?
And there was a lot of blood a.
Speaker 1 (10:24):
Did they do cold
plunges?
Does that help your body?
Speaker 2 (10:26):
Cold plunges yeah,
they say it does.
It doesn't help my body becauseI don't like to be cold.
They say it's worth it thoughthe way you feel afterwards.
But the three minutes thatyou're in there, or the two
minutes, no.
I know Adam Carolla.
He's a comedian.
I've heard him say that hedoesn't have a cold plunge but
(10:48):
he takes a cold shower.
It's kind of the same thing, but it's not as cold as what a
cold plunge would be, becauseyou can do like 34 degrees.
When you do a cold plunge, coldwater out of your faucet is
what.
Speaker 1 (11:01):
It's not that cold,
no.
Speaker 2 (11:03):
But it's still cold
if you're standing under it you
know, yeah, but I couldn't do it.
The only time I took a coldshower is when I found out when
I got up one morning and take ashower, that our hot water
heater didn't work, and that wasa struggle.
So I don't want to experiencethat again.
I don't know.
I need to find out how muchmoney they made for this.
Let me look this up whileyou're talking.
(11:24):
Can you talk one of them?
Speaker 1 (11:25):
What am I going to
talk about?
Speaker 2 (11:26):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (11:28):
We got a sale going
on right now, but by the time
you hear this it's probably gone.
Speaker 2 (11:32):
No, it's not.
Speaker 1 (11:34):
I got a sale going
through the 17th.
What am I talking about?
We're going to release tomorrow, on the 14th.
Oh yeah, you got plenty of time.
Speaker 2 (11:48):
Join me on my tiktok

on sale as low as six dollars.
Speaker 1 (11:50):
You like that
commercial.
Yes, you like that pretty goodcommercial.
We got daily deals ten dollarsdifferent daily deals, forgot
what tomorrow's is, but today'sis makeup wipes and $10 nails.
Tomorrow's deal is I'll tellyou one day.
(12:11):
I'll tell you.
I forgot what is tomorrow,monday.
It's a highlighting stick.
We have cream highlightersticks also.
We have makeup.
Speaker 2 (12:21):
Now back to our story
.
I've got this.
Now I've got these facts.
Are you done he?
Speaker 1 (12:25):
don't like my girl
talk.
Okay, has some cute nails thatare $10, also tomorrow For her
fight on Friday night, streamedon Netflix.
Speaker 2 (12:33):
Katie Taylor
reportedly earned a purse of $6
million.
This payday is part of thehighly anticipated trilogy fight
against Amanda Serrano, whichwas also promoted by Jake Paul's
most valuable promotions.
Speaker 1 (12:46):
So that's why you saw
Jake Paul.
So he just promotes them.
Speaker 2 (12:49):
Yeah, he's a promoter
, that's why you see him behind
every one of those women.
Speaker 1 (12:54):
So he's not their
manager or whatever, he's just a
promoter.
Speaker 2 (12:58):
Yeah, promoter
manager.
Speaker 1 (13:00):
Are they the same?
Speaker 2 (13:01):
thing?
No, not really, but I mean hehas a say in stuff, though.
So the first was a significantoh, the fight was a significant
event, not just for the athletesbut also for the sport of
boxing, with the potential for alarge audience due to it
streaming on Netflix.
I don't know what the numberswere yet.
Speaker 1 (13:18):
I was going to say
have we heard any numbers.
Speaker 2 (13:20):
Both Taylor and
Serrano are expected to have
earned substantial purses, withsome reports suggesting a total
purse of $18 million to be splitbetween them.
Wow, that is a lot.
Let me see.
Speaker 1 (13:35):
I might go fight
somebody for that.
Yeah, I don't know, what Is itworth it.
Speaker 2 (13:40):
Is it?
Speaker 1 (13:41):
worth feeling the way
you would feel the next day.
I mean, I know they train andall this, but you can't tell me
they're not hurting the next day.
Speaker 2 (13:52):
Oh, definitely
hurting.
Speaker 1 (13:53):
How long does it take
them to get over it?
How long do you think it takesthem to quit?
You know, because, like, ifyou're in a wreck or something
like that, you know, say, thesecond or third day is your
worst day of pain.
Speaker 2 (14:09):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (14:09):
So what do you think
when you're boxing?
Speaker 2 (14:13):
I mean oh, let's see
the female boxing match between
Katie Taylor and Amanda Serranoon Netflix, which was part of
the undercard for the Jake Ballvs Mike Tyson fight had an
estimated 74 million liveviewers globally Wow.
This makes it the most watchedprofessional women's sporting
(14:35):
event in US history, accordingto Netflix.
Speaker 1 (14:39):
Wow, but you know
when, jake, so before Netflix
done, these were the fights.
Live anywhere else, you had topay for them right, you had HBO.
Speaker 2 (14:49):
Hbo, okay, it was a
big, big boxing channel.
Speaker 1 (14:53):
Yes, okay.
Speaker 2 (14:56):
Which, on that, you
just had to have a subscription
to HBO to watch it, because theyhad Friday Night Boxing or
whatever it was, but they hadthe main events.
You had Tyson, yeah, stuff likethat what are your women?
They never really showed women.
You know, they talked aboutthat right.
Speaker 1 (15:12):
They talked about it,
they wouldn't show talked about
.
Speaker 2 (15:15):
She had a a main
event where she fought at
madison square garden, but itwasn't televised but it wasn't
televised because it was womenyeah, so so what do your other
boxers make?
Speaker 1 (15:27):
that wasn't the main
event.
How much?
How much are they bringing in?
Speaker 2 (15:31):
oh, I'm, you know,
probably.
So if you're not the winner, doyou?
Speaker 1 (15:34):
still get something.
Yeah, you still get somethingyou've got.
Yeah, you've got a contractyou've got some kind of contract
?
Yes, yeah, yeah, but it was, uh, I don, I don't know I just
don't get sitting there, notsitting there standing there
dancing around in the ringboxing.
I know people love it, I knowthey make money on it?
Speaker 2 (15:57):
You talking about
watching it or actually doing it
?
Speaker 1 (16:01):
Or no, actually doing
it.
Speaker 2 (16:02):
Oh.
Speaker 1 (16:02):
I mean, I don't.
Well you say it, mary, I don'teven really care to watch it.
Speaker 2 (16:06):
You say it's a.
Speaker 1 (16:07):
I like the MMA fight.
Speaker 2 (16:08):
Yeah, but you say
it's the 10th round.
You say how they're so winded, they're so tired.
Speaker 1 (16:14):
And it's just two
minute rounds and all you're
doing is you're getting.
Speaker 2 (16:17):
You're sweating blood
on, yeah, because you're trying
to get your breath and you'reholding on to one another for a
second.
Speaker 1 (16:26):
And you're trying
them not to.
Speaker 2 (16:27):
Yeah, so that the ref
will break you apart, so that
you're not continuously you know, I mean you're wearing yourself
out.
So, yeah, that's the way youget a break is when you hold on
to the person or get them upagainst the ring ropes and hold
on to them and they have to bebroke apart I don't, I don't
blame, no mma, mma's twice asbad.
(16:48):
That's bad, ain't it?
Yeah, because they're trying tobreak your leg and arm and
dislocate your shoulder, andthey're what makes you want to
do that?
Speaker 1 (16:56):
are you a mean person
if you want to fight?
Speaker 2 (16:58):
it's got to be in you
.
You've got to be tough.
You just got a tough streak andyou like and that's a way you
can let it out I guess I don'twant to do it mean he's about to
go around, or two the two fightthe two first mma fights that
I've ever that I ever saw bothof them.
A guy got they are the the onesI saw one one time and then
(17:20):
months later when I watchedanother and same thing happened
of course different guy, butit's dislocated shoulders and
you saw it pop out of joint andall that and it was like, oh, my
goodness, about to make youthrow up.
I mean, I can't handle.
Speaker 1 (17:33):
Yeah, you can't
handle it.
Speaker 2 (17:35):
But you know they're
trying to get him to tap out
Whatever position I can put youin to, where it is hurting so
bad that you're tapping out.
You're hollering, uncle,letting me up.
Speaker 1 (17:47):
I just don't want to
hear you.
You're hollering Uncle.
Speaker 2 (17:49):
You never heard that.
Speaker 1 (17:49):
No.
Speaker 2 (17:50):
You've never heard
hollering Uncle.
Speaker 1 (17:52):
No, okay, why are we
hollering Uncle?
Speaker 2 (17:56):
That's just a saying.
Speaker 1 (17:57):
Oh, you've never Okay
.
I don't think so, okay I.
I don't think so, okay, I neverheard that one.
Speaker 2 (18:04):
But yeah, you're
trying to choke them out.
I mean anything, Whatever.
That's the scariest thing whenyou see these guys get choked
out.
It is.
You get a mess up, so why doyou?
Speaker 1 (18:13):
want to watch that.
Why do you want to do that?
Well, that's a man thing.
Speaker 2 (18:22):
I know some women
like to watch it brutal sports,
it's like football.
That's why men like football, because they like that toughness
, that hitting.
You know pads hitting eachother.
Except this right here is alittle bit different I was gonna
say that's a lot differentthat's a lot of money, though
it's a lot well, just like themsplitting possibly 18 million is
it worth it to put your bodythrough that for the money?
Speaker 1 (18:45):
I've talked to some
people, is it really you?
Speaker 2 (18:47):
talk about like would
you take a punch from Mike
Tyson for like, you name theprice and I don't.
Speaker 1 (18:53):
Even like a million
dollars.
Speaker 2 (18:54):
No, I'm not doing it.
Speaker 1 (18:55):
Because he'd kill me?
Yeah, exactly, because you'renot ready for it.
So then, what good is it to you?
Speaker 2 (19:00):
It's not.
Speaker 1 (19:01):
Not.
Speaker 2 (19:05):
Because it's not, not
Because you can't take it with
you.
So what good is it?
You're right, but anyway.
So I don't know the next time.
I don't remember.
Well, I did watch Jake Paul andMike Tyson when they fought.
Speaker 1 (19:15):
Yeah, we did watch
that, but that wasn't a fight.
We just watched that becausethat was hyped up.
Speaker 2 (19:20):
I like Mike Tyson.
I don't care about Jake Paul atall, at all.
Speaker 1 (19:25):
That's not nice.
Speaker 2 (19:26):
Well, I just don't, I
don't like him.
Speaker 1 (19:29):
Jody is brutally
honest.
I am honest.
Speaker 2 (19:31):
By the way, why am I
going to lie?
I'm not going to lie.
I don't want to be mean, buttake it the way you do.
Speaker 1 (19:38):
You don't know him.
Speaker 2 (19:39):
I know enough.
You see how they carry theirself, whether you like it or not
.
I'm not saying that Mike Tysonis a great guy.
I'm not saying that at all.
I'm just saying I don't likethe showboat and all that.
But that was for show, that wasnot a fight.
I was hoping it was going to besomething a little bit better
than what it was, but betterthan what it was.
But before that, I couldn't tellyou the last fault that I've
(19:59):
ever seen Boxing match, and Icouldn't tell you if I'm ever
going to watch it again, becauseit's just not something.
This was just something thatjust hey, I kept seeing them
Since we turned on Netflix allthe time.
You could have been like on anyother platform that they could
have been promoting and all thatstuff and I'd never known about
it and I just wouldn't havewatched it.
But since it kept showing up onNetflix and the timing was
(20:20):
right, that's the only reason wewatched it.
But I really did want to seesomebody get knocked out.
Is that bad?
Speaker 1 (20:28):
I don't know.
Is it that you want to seesomebody get knocked out?
I don't know.
No, All right done withfighting.
Speaker 2 (20:35):
Yeah, I am too.
Speaker 1 (20:37):
What do we got coming
up?
Speaker 2 (20:39):
We got Vbs at church
everybody.
We have had a lot of peopleworking hard, uh, to get that.
Vps, vps vps.
Speaker 1 (20:47):
What is that?
Yes, that's an eye insurancewhen I worked at the eye doctor
so vacation bible school is whatwe were talking about.
Speaker 2 (20:55):
For people that don't
know what that is um, but had a
lot of.
Speaker 1 (20:59):
We have a a director
that bust her tail she's awesome
.
Speaker 2 (21:03):
Yeah, she's done a
lot, um, she's carried a lot of
the weight and uh, you can tellI mean it's amazing the stuff
she's done and got looks good.
She's got it all decoratedwe're having a sunday night
service in our old sanctuary, because that's where everything
is decorated at and we're havingit there.
So kind of show it off to letthe members of the church that
(21:26):
aren't aware or can't beinvolved in the upcoming week
We'll see what it's all about, kind of unveiling it for
everybody.
Speaker 1 (21:35):
They can't be
involved.
We just ask them to pray forthe kids that are coming through
.
That's right that they'll hearthe message.
That's right that they'll hearthe message.
Speaker 2 (21:39):
That's right.
And do you know what anestimate is on how many kids we
might have?
Speaker 1 (21:43):
Oh, we usually have
around 100.
Speaker 2 (21:44):
Really, that's good,
yeah, so it'll be good.
Speaker 1 (21:49):
So it's going to be a
busy week.
Speaker 2 (21:51):
Is that a Monday
through Friday thing?
Speaker 1 (21:53):
Yeah, monday through.
Speaker 2 (21:54):
Thursday, five days
from 9 am to 9 to 12, I think.
So like three hours a day.
Speaker 1 (22:02):
That's not bad.
Then we got a team goingmission team going to Kentucky.
Speaker 2 (22:08):
What are?
Speaker 1 (22:08):
they going to do?
Well, some will be construction, some will be.
They'll go around and talk topeople.
It's called something, I justcan't get the word out and then
Evangelize.
And then the VBS director isgoing again and she's going to
(22:30):
be leading another VBS, so shegot VBS two weeks in a row.
Speaker 2 (22:35):
That'll wear you out.
Speaker 1 (22:35):
I think she deserves
two weeks off in a row.
Speaker 2 (22:39):
Shout out, we'll put
a word in for her.
Yeah, I like that.
Speaker 1 (22:41):
Shout out to Jania.
Speaker 2 (22:43):
Yeah, that's good.
Speaker 1 (22:45):
She loves our kids.
Speaker 2 (22:47):
You know, you always
hear that, well, the Lord's
working in my life or the Lord'sworking in our church.
You know, just because you seesomething or whatever it is.
But you've got to understand.
Understand the Lord is alwaysworking in your life.
Speaker 1 (22:59):
The Lord is always
working in your church when you
don't see it.
Speaker 2 (23:02):
That's right.
Just because you see somethingpositive happening in there,
that doesn't mean you stop andreflect.
You know, and you're thankingGod for it.
You need to thank God.
There's a lot of stuff behindthe scenes that you ain't got a
clue, that God's working on foryears to come and we have no
clue.
Speaker 1 (23:21):
Then you realize it
Right Afterwards Exactly.
Oh, he was there too, right, there's a plan.
He's there every minute ofevery second.
That's right.
That's right For the day.
Speaker 2 (23:30):
In my Sunday school
class that I teach every day, or
at the end of class, I alwaysask you, know what's good going
on in your life?
I always ask you know what'sgood going on in your life?
Anything bad going on, praisereports, prayer requests,
unspokens, and it's always theyknow that nothing bad is going
on, so that's a good thing.
That's what they always say.
I've kind of told them that, and the thing about it too, is I
(23:54):
tell them that we tend to praywhen bad things are going on.
When good things are going on,it's almost like you feel like
you don't need God as muchbecause you're in control,
everything's fine, you know.
And then maybe your prayer lifeisn't where it needs to be
because everything's going good,you know.
So you're kind of missing thething.
(24:14):
So we always and I'm kind ofcoming at a point of teaching
these boys this I always tellthem you know, you need to come
to a point where don't everthink you're in control and
don't ever think, just becauseeverything's fine and dandy
right now, that it can't be.
You know, something mighthappen tomorrow, you just never
know.
So don't let that affect yourprayer life.
You need nothing bad going on.
(24:35):
You need to be praying, youneed to be thanking god for, you
know, for everything goodthat's going on in your life and
everything, so then it'll helpyou.
Uh, you know when the times arerough, so I try, and you know,
emphasize it in prayer life isis very important.
Don't don't ever just stoppraying, and you can't do it
wrong.
(24:55):
You can't't pray wrong.
Speaker 1 (24:57):
No, but we think we
can.
I know we think we do.
Speaker 2 (25:01):
I've gotten to where
some of the boys in there I'm
trying to get them to step upand I'm wanting them to pray for
us at the end of class yeah, and I have a couple that go to
every time.
They'll do it and I don't wantthat all the time.
And I, but I try and tell themto you know, like, hey, 10 years
ago, if you'd asked me to, youknow, pray in this class, or
(25:24):
anything like that, there is noway I didn't have the you know
confidence.
I didn't think I could.
And then, and I try and tellhim, like you cannot say
anything wrong.
You can't pray wrong.
God knows what's on your heart.
He wants to hear from you, eventhough he knows what's going on
in your life.
He wants to hear from you aboutit.
But we had a very good classtoday.
(25:47):
I must say.
It seems like our class isreally gelling together.
Mine too, we have so manydifferent ages.
We had eight boys in theretoday, but today a lot of them
were closer in age than what wehave sometimes.
But it's just like everybodyhas just gotten to where they
talk to each other.
(26:07):
They get along good.
We cut up and then they'reparticipating, you know, in
questions that we have duringthe lesson.
I think if you go in there, especially with teenagers, and
you just start the lesson rightoff the, if you like small talk
for a minute, then you start thelesson and you're just talking
the lesson the whole time.
I think you not that you'reburning the boys out or anything
(26:30):
like that, but I like to try tobuild that relationship that's
what I've been trying to do andthat's why we do that for them
we do trivia questions and we douh like here lately they like
the family feud questions andstuff like that.
You know so.
So we'll do like 20 of thosequestions.
We'll go back and see who youknow got the the most um stuff
(26:51):
like that before we start thelesson and just trying to break
things down and that's reallyhelped.
So but also leave it to them onwhat kind of trivia Let them
decide, so we can change it upand all that.
Speaker 1 (27:05):
All right.
Well, I think we've done prettygood, yep, it's lunchtime.
Speaker 2 (27:10):
We've got to get off
this thing because we've got to
head back to church here soon.
Speaker 1 (27:12):
We ended with prayer.
That's good Talking aboutprayer.
Speaker 2 (27:15):
Yeah, that's pretty
good.
Prayer is very important.
Prayer is very important.
It needs to be a part of yourlife, no doubt, and if it's not,
well, I pray that it soon willbe.
Speaker 1 (27:31):
If you need help,
leave us a comment.
Speaker 2 (27:33):
That's right.
There is a way to get incontact.
You can leave a comment andthen from there we can work on
how to communicate one-on-onewith any questions.
No doubt, because that's whatwe're here for.
All right, All right.
Speaker 1 (27:50):
Let's go eat lunch.
Speaker 2 (27:52):
Thanks for listening
Now that it's brunch time.
We will see you back, hopefullynext week for episode 48.
So we will see you then.
See ya, adios.
