Shannon D. Martin (00:01):
Hello, beautiful, welcome to another
episode of this Thing CalledWellness.
I'm your host, hannon Martin.
Today, we're going to talkabout vision, goals and growth
as we wrap up 2024 and step into2025.
Let's talk about it.
I know this time of year canfeel like a whirlwind.
Everywhere we look, there areads for planners, systems and

(00:25):
courses promising you thebeginning to the perfect new
year.
Right, your social media feedsand inboxes are buzzing with
messages like buy my program tolay the proper foundation for
success, or this is the only wayto achieve your goals.
Honestly, it can be a bit much.
I've been hitting thatunsubscribe button and taking a

(00:47):
step back to ask myself what doI really need in the new year?
Maybe you're feeling the sameway.
If so, you're not alone.
So today, let's keep it simple.
We're going to talk aboutreflecting on 2024, setting
goals that feel good to you, deciding if vision boards are a

(01:08):
yay or a nay, and picking thetools that works best for your
journey Reflecting on 2024.
All right, before we starttalking about 2025, let's take a
moment to reflect on this year.
How was 2024 for you and I meanreally, how was it For me?

(01:37):
2024 was a mix of highs, lowsand lessons I didn't see coming.
Some things went beautifullyand others well.
They were tough, and that'sokay.
Such is life.
Right Lately, I've beenjournaling, planning with my
business bestie and askingmyself a few simple questions
like what am I proud of?

(01:59):
What did I learn?
What do I want to leave behindas I step into 2025?
Taking time to reflect helps ussee just how far we've come and
, trust me, you've come fartherthan you realize.
So if you haven't taken amoment to pause and look back, I
encourage you to do it.
Sit down with a journal, take adeep breath and just let it all

(02:25):
out.
You might be surprised at theclarity it brings Setting goals
for 2025.
Now that we've looked back, let's look ahead.
It's goal setting time.
I know the idea of settinggoals can sometimes feel a lot.
Trust me, I've buffered acouple of times just thinking

(02:46):
about it.
But here's the thing you don'thave to have everything figured
out Huge right.
This year, I'm keeping itsimple.
Instead of this long list ofgoals that stress me out and
creates buffering, I'm choosingthree to five goals that feel

(03:07):
right in my gut, goals that makeme feel excited and aligned,
not overwhelmed.
Here are a few of mine.
I want to grow this podcast andconnect more with you, my
amazing listeners.
I want to launch my wellnesssubscription and make it a
joyful experience.
I want to take better care ofmy mind, body and spirit.

(03:30):
More movement, more meditationand prayer, and more grace.
What about you?
What feels right for 2025?
Think about what lights you upand what will get you out of bed
in the morning, excited tocreate.
I remember just recently I wastalking to my son and he asked

(03:50):
me Mom, what fills you up withjoy?
What could you do for free?
Remember those old teachings?
It took me back to those, butit's so pure and yet so simple.
So write out your goals, speakthem into existence or share
them with someone you trust, like your business bestie.

(04:11):
When you put your goals outthere, they start to feel real
and you give yourself that extranudge to make them happen.
Vision boards Yay or nay?
Right, okay, let's talk aboutvision boards.
We keep hearing all the stars, all the I guess you can say

(04:35):
well-influenced people talkabout vision boards.
Are you a vision board person?
I feel like people are eitherall in or a hard pass.
A couple of years ago, I lovedmaking them, gathering pictures,
gluing things down and gettingcreative Recent years meh, you

(04:55):
know.
Recently, just the thought ofit felt like one more thing on
my never-ending to-do list.
Being honest, my businessbestie she's not all into the
vision boards, she's moreanalytical, so she's creating a
spiritual list instead, something she can look at daily,
pray over and use to help bringher visions to life.

(05:15):
I love that approach too.
The point is to have somethingthat keeps your goals front and
center.
The point is to have somethingthat keeps your goals front and
center, whether it's a visionboard, a list, sticky notes on
your mirror, whatever.
Do what works for you.
I'm still deciding if I'll do avision board this year, even

(05:36):
though you know I've done thembefore.
But what about you?
Yay or nay on the vision board, planning tools and staying on
track?
Big one right.
Let's talk about stayingorganized.
I've already picked out myplanner for 2025.
And can I just say there'snothing like opening a fresh

(05:57):
planner at the start of a newyear.
I'm a paper and pen kind ofgirl.
There's just something aboutwriting things down, about
stickers and all the things thatmakes it stick for me.
But if digital tools work foryou, go for it.
You know apps like TrelloNotion or even Google Calendar
can be game changers, andsometimes I use them too, more

(06:21):
so the Google Calendar.
But the key here is use whatworks for you and remember plans
are just a guide.
Life happens, so be flexible, adapt, adjust and give yourself
grace along the way way.

(06:48):
Closing 2024 with intention.
As we wrap up, I want to inviteyou to close out 2024 with
intention.
We have literally two and ahalf weeks left in 2024.
That's insane to even thinkabout.
I want you to take a moment topause, breathe and reflect.
For one, you made it throughthis year, and that's something
to celebrate.
One thing I haven't tried before, but I'm going to give it a try

(07:09):
this year, is writing a letterto my future self and setting an
intention for the new year.
I want to take some time toreflect on what I'm proud of,
what I'm grateful for and whatI'm ready to let go of.
And for 2025, I'll be centeringthat intention around healing.

(07:30):
Here's the intention sentence,or just the intention within
itself, I'm setting for you In2025, I will embrace my healing
journey with patience, courageand love.
I will honor my mind, body andspirit by giving myself grace,

(07:51):
releasing what no longer servesme and creating space for growth
and joy.
What about you?
What intentions feel right foryou?
Whatever it is, hold on to it,because you are capable of
amazing things.
Thank you for spending time withme today.

(08:12):
I hope you're feeling a littlemore inspired and ready to step
into 2025 with big intentions.
If you're setting goals, makingvision boards or just figuring
things out, I'd love to hearabout it.
Connect with me on social mediaand let's cheer each other on.
Until next time, give yourselfsome grace, take it one day at a
time and remember you've gotthis.

(08:35):
Love you, girl.
