The night before the battle with Maxentius at the Milvian Bridge, Constantine had a vision. He saw a cross of light in the sky with the inscription, "In this sign, you will conquer." He shared this divine encounter with his soldiers, instilling in them a newfound courage and faith. This is precisely where our focus is with this episode: faith. I hope you like it! — Ralph

heavenly sign to be delineatedon the shields of his soldiers,

(00:22):
and so to proceed to battle theshields of his soldiers, and so
to proceed to battle.
He did as he had been commandedand he marked on their shields
the letter X, with aperpendicular line drawn through
it and turned, thus at the topbeing the cipher of Christ.

(01:04):
On the descurtion's sun of Rome, a soldier named Marcus found
himself amidst the chaos of theimpending battle of the Milvian
Bridge.
He was a loyal soldier underthe command of Constantine, a
man who was not just his leaderbut also his inspiration.
That night, before the battle, constantine had a vision.

sign, you will conquer.
He shared this divine encounterwith his soldiers, instilling
in them a newfound courage infaith.
Faith in its broadest sense is aprofound belief or trust in a

(01:49):
particular reality, ofteninvolving a higher power or
deity or a certain set ofreligious doctrines.
It can also refer to a positiveoutlook and trust in life
itself or a deep confidence inthe reliability of a person,
idea or thing.
The effects of faith on aperson can be multifaceted or

(02:11):
profound.
Faith can provide a sense ofpeace, purpose and direction.
It can help individuals copewith life's challenges and
uncertainties, offering comfortin times of distress and
adversity.
Many people derive their moraland ethical guidelines from
their faith.
Thank you difficult times.
It can inspire resilience andperseverance, helping

(02:33):
individuals navigate throughhardships and maintain hope for
the future.
This is where Marcus foundhimself.
He thought of his family backat home, his wife, his kids, his

(02:58):
parents.

(03:19):
As dawn broke, marcus stood onthe battlefield, the vision of
the cross etched in his mind.
He felt an inexplicable senseof calm amidst the storm of war.
The image of the cross becamehis beacon, guiding him through
the tumultuous sea of clashingswords and falling comrades.
The battle raged on and Marcusfought valiantly, the vision of

(03:44):
the cross fueling his courage.
He saw Constantine leading fromthe front, his determination
unwavering, his faith unshaken.
The sight of their leader, soresolute and fearless, spurred
the soldiers on.
As the day wore on, the tidesof the battle began to turn.
The forces opposing Constantinestarted to falter, their lines

(04:07):
breaking under the relentlessassault, marcus could see the
victory within their grasp.
Finally, as the sun began toset the painting sky with the
hues of victory, the opposingforces retreated.
The opposing forces retreated.
A cheer erupted fromConstantine's men.

(04:30):
They had won.
The vision had come true.
Marcus, standing amidst hisbrothers in arms, looked up at
the sky.
The cross that had appeared inthe leader's vision had led them
to victory.
He felt a surge of gratitudeand relief.

(05:24):
The battle was over and theyhad emerged victorious.
We all have our daily battles.
We all rage private wars thatno one knows anything about.
Sometimes we feel as though wehave reached the end of the line
.
We have reached that precipiceof despair.
But if there's something thatMarcus' story and Constantine's
victory has shown us, it's thefact that faith can carry us
through the darkest moments inways that our own efforts cannot

(05:45):
.
And, most importantly, when wehave in practice faith, it
pleases God.
His favor will always be uponus.
Hebrews 11.6 makes it clear.
But without faith it isimpossible to please Him, for he
who comes to God must believethat he is and that he is a

(06:07):
rewarder of those who diligentlyseek him.
Without faith, we simply cannotplease God.
If Constantine was able todefeat Maxentius against the
greatest of all odds, so toowould we be able to conquer our
greatest challenges and battles.
It is a promise, it is writtenand, as the vision of

(06:30):
Constantine and the Battle ofMilian Bridge sit now in history
records, the effects of faithin our lives remain alive.
It is still here with you andwith me.
It is still here with you andwith me.
Let us cling to it in purposeand belief, and we will also
scream with the utmost joy inour hearts Gratias a Godi

(06:51):
Vicrucis.
Thanks to the cross, I amvictorious.
Thank you.
