You know that feeling when you're in midlife and it feels like there's something more for you, but you just can't figure out how to get there?

That feeling is exactly what my amazing guest, Barbara Wood Watson, helps people with.

She's a "Logical Mystic" who has spent decades helping tens of thousands of students worldwide silence stress and unlock their intuition.

In this episode of Thrive After 45™, we're diving deep into the hidden barriers that often stop us from living a joyful and full life as we get older.

Barbara has a unique background that spans healthcare law, meditation, and more, and she uses that wisdom to help people break free from what's holding them back.

We talk about how what you're seeking is already within you and the importance of giving yourself permission to go after your dreams.

We also explore the fascinating "big rocks" concept, a simple but powerful tool that helps you prioritize what's most important in your life so you're not just doing the small stuff.

Speaker (00:00):
What if the very blocks that seemed to hold us back in

(00:04):
midlife were actually thedoorway to living our fullest
expression?
Welcome to Thrive After 45, thepodcast where you remember the
woman you were never meant toforget.
I am Denise, drink, heartwhisperer, midlife mirror, or

(00:27):
This is your space to shedexpectations, collapse
timelines, and return toyourself for you by you because
of you.
It is an absolute honor and areal privilege to welcome back
and reintroduce Barbara WoodWatson to our show today.

(00:49):
In today's thrive, after 45episode, we're gonna dive into
hidden barriers that often stopus from continuing to live fully
and joyfully as we age.
My guest is someone who has.
Spent decades blending thelogical and the mystical,
helping tens of thousands ofstudents worldwide silent stress

(01:13):
and unlock their intuition knownas the logical mystic.
She brings a very uniquebackground that spans healthcare
law.
Meditation.
But what makes her extraordinaryis how she uses that wisdom to
empower people to break freefrom stress, uncover what's been

(01:34):
holding them back and stepboldly into their truest selves.
I am so excited to have.
Barbara Wood Watson, the logicalmystic back on our show today.
So great to have you here,Barbara.

Speaker 2 (01:51):
Thank you so much.
What a wonderful introduction.
My goodness.
I'm very grateful.
Thank you.

Speaker (01:57):
It's my, yes, it's good.
Oh, we, we go.
I'm not gonna see, say a waysback, but we have connected
over.
A couple years.
Anyway, it, it's, mm-hmm.
And it seems like a lifetimebecause you are such a gem.

(02:18):
To connect with you.
Read people so well and ourheart centers just seem to know
how to move conversation, haveopportunities to discuss in very
deep ways, very quickly.
And I love that about you,Barbara.
You are so in tune witheverything and everybody without

(02:43):
carrying all the weight that cancome along with that.
How in the world.
Does that even happen?

Speaker 2 (02:53):
Well, yeah.
I guess when I think about allthe students I've had over the
years, over the decades and the,and coaching clients and
whatnot, uh, they have obviouslyvery individualized situations.
But the common denominator is,and what we delve into is they

(03:15):
know they want more.
They know this life is notenough.
Like I've got more I can do inlife.
I just don't know how to do it.
I can't figure out how to getit.
And what a lot of people don'trealize is there are messages
for you in that human energyfield and the universal energy
field as well.

(03:37):
And, uh, and if you have animalsin the, the, their energy field,
the canine energy field fordogs, for example, and we'll get
into if it's individualized, whatever comes up for you is
where we go.
Mm-hmm.
What I end up doing with them, and we do it over a series of
individualized coaching as wellas group work and the coaching

(03:58):
individualized is at, uh, youknow, their needs to meet their
needs, their desires, but whatwe're doing.
We bring them to the point wherethey understand what you seek is
what you are.
You already are.
You have that inside you.
What you seek is what you are,but you just can't figure out

(04:21):
how to get there.
And so part of what it is, it'sjust expanding their permission
fields because again, giving, they're not giving themselves
permission to go there.
And helping them to, helpingthem to extend.
I do not expand it.
I help them to expand becauseit's their permission field and

(04:43):
this has to be lasting.
So it comes from them and theycommit and then they just, you
know, they know they want more.
They have whatever their callingis in light, doesn't matter.
They can reach it.
Whatever their deepest dreamsare, they can get there.
So, yeah, that's how it happens.
And it doesn't, uh, um, doesn'thappen immediately, but it

(05:07):
doesn't have to take long.
It really doesn't.
It just depends where they'restarting from that gets
unearthed.

Speaker (05:15):
I love that.
So, so are as a logical mystic.
You marry, and correct me if I'mwrong, marry the real world with
the five dimension or beyond.
Mm-hmm.
World in ways that those of uswho don't know and don't, don't

(05:40):
have that deeper connection likeyourself can't do it because we
get stuck here.
Is that where we get stuckmostly, or what happens?

Speaker 2 (05:51):
We can get stuck in various places.
Okay.
We can get stuck, for example,I, I give, uh, give you an
example of someone who justneeds to figure out what to do.
Most people have heard of fightor flight.
Lot of people haven't heard offreeze.
There are different things thatcould be involved here, but
think of a woman or, or anybodywho is out in the ocean,

(06:15):
somewhere on an ocean liner and,and it goes down.
So you're on a raft.
Okay.
In the ocean, and you've gotsome, you're lying there on the
raft, you're close enough thatyou could reach out to the, the
water, the ocean.
Mm-hmm.
Salty water.
And you are there alone and youneed to survive.
But you know, there's a rescueship there.
You can see it.
It's often the distance overthere.

(06:37):
And you can see that the peoplecoming towards you, they're,
they're throwing out bottles ofwater, bottles of water to you
to come to you on the waves.
And they do, they come to youand, and you might be depending
again, where that step point is,right?
You might be saying, oh great, Ineed that water.
I really need that water.
I need that water.

(06:58):
And you watch it coming and thenyou watch it float by.
Hmm.
Because you don't have what ittakes to reach out and grab that
water what you that you need.
Now, it's not that you don'thave it, but you can't access
it.
The stuckness, if you like, isdeeper than we're going into
the, the mind stuckness.
So it's a, it's a body mindthing that I do as well as soul

(07:21):
spirituality, all of it.
The mind may not compute thatthis is water that you need
coming towards you, right?
So that's a deeper level, andthat's why it's very, it has to
be very individualized becausethe mind doesn't compute.
You are not really seeing thatthis water is coming to help
you.
Not only can you not reach outfor it, you don't even see that

(07:41):
you wanna do it.
So it just depends.
So it's, it's it, it can behappening anywhere there, there
are definite blocks and thereare definite ways through it.
Right.
Definitely it works.

Speaker (07:54):
Now it what?
One thing that you do, you do somuch.
Oh my gosh.
But one piece that you do do isthe meditation in meditation.
Do you find that that helpslevel the playing field as it
were, or helps open up?

(08:14):
Or what's the context formeditation?

Speaker 2 (08:20):
Uh, yes it does.
And that is part of, to marrythat with your previous
question, going to five D fivedimension, fifth dimension and
beyond.
So we live in a 3D world.
Mm-hmm.
And what, but we are living orgoing to.
Five D level through four D,five D, et cetera level.
Uh, which may or may not in thebeginning probably doesn't mean

(08:43):
much to you, right?
But, um, living at five D in a3D world, it, it's really
wonderful because it opens upvistas for you.
Um, you know, what youpreviously saw is limits.
There are no limits.
There are.
Movable boundaries, parameters.
Ooh.
But I don't agree with the wordcan't.

(09:06):
And, and I heard that in one ofthe, but I, and again, not with
my friends, but when I'mstudents, they, they don't say,
I can't do this.
Uh, Henry Ford said it.
Whether you say you can or youcan't, you are right.
Because your thoughts create areality.

Speaker (09:22):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (09:22):
The.
This whole idea, these conceptsare often related to the law of
attraction, which is the easternmystical stuff.
But there is now scientificlogical proof that the photons,
the bio photons in the bodyreact differently if you set an
intention, for example.
Mm-hmm.
The bio photons, which is thesmallest particle of light, but

(09:44):
they're not always particles, they will form into matter, into
waves.
This probably means nothing to,to people in the beginning.
And, uh, but this is where thescience comes into this.

Speaker (09:54):
Sure.

Speaker 2 (09:54):
And it is often said that when you set an intention
before you go into meditationin, in the science field mm-hmm.
You are looking at the biophotons, realizing they're being
observed and realizing they havea role to play here and forming
into waves, which takes intoaccount the all sorts of
concepts.
Like, for example, um.

(10:17):
Energy healing at a distance, that kind of thing.
Okay.
But again, again, this is allstuff that's come down.
There is science around it andpeople will look at it in their
own individual, uh,circumstances for sure.
But it is, and so I do marrythose and, and I don't say can't
there, if a student says to me,I can't do it.

(10:39):
I mean, really they're right.
Because this is creating thereality.
So I say, no, it's no, there'sno such where just can't,
there's won't, I won't do itright, or there's, I choose not
to do it.
Mm-hmm.
That's fine.
Right?
We, we can all make our ownchoices and that's fine.
And I, I encourage'em to maketheir own choices.
And if they're not at thatpoint, that's all right.

(10:59):
Right, right.
Everybody can get there.
Nobody gets there.
You don't just jump over leapsand bounds and get there right
away.
And if, if the motivation isthere, then the results are
there.
Love that.
Yeah,

Speaker (11:13):
love that.
Yeah.
Um, can you share an instanceand, um, where this had, you
have seen it, witnessed it,whether it was for yourself or
somebody you worked with, wherethis has actually come into full
fruition.
From, from this beginning to theend, things have happened.

(11:35):
Can you walk us throughsomething that will allow our
listeners to go, oh my gosh, itis possible she's not just
saying this, this, and this, andthis.

Speaker 2 (11:48):
Yeah.
Um, I've got several, all allkinds of things that I could,
uh, and all kinds oftestimonials and whatnot, um,
that we can look at.
But again, people will come withvarious different.
Scenarios, it's allconfidential.
I will stress that first.
Right?
And if I use a name, it's a madeup name.
It's not the individual's name.

(12:10):
If I use a location, it's a madeup location.
So it's not, you know, the, the,but the rest of it is true.
Okay?
So yes, I've had people comefrom all kinds of walks of life.
And from people who are, youknow, wonderfully happy with
their, their home life, but thatthe kids have grown up and they
wanna do something more.

(12:31):
That kind of thing, right?
Mm-hmm.
Or people who are in their jobs, their careers aren't going the
way they want.
So in one case, for example, welooked at a lot of this career
stuff that was going on and shewas, um, reasonably.
Uh, uh, at a high level in, inwhere she worked.
Yep.

(12:51):
And, uh, she had all kinds ofthings going at work and she
would call me.
So we had emergency calls.
Sometimes she she'd call and I'mavailable for that too.
When, when something comes up.
But I had her do all kinds ofthings.
One of the things, for example, here's a tip for your listeners
is the big rocks thing, whichyou may have heard of.

(13:12):
I expect with your background, you've heard about big rocks, so
what are your big rocks in life?
So I will have people go outand.
Take a container of some sort, doesn't matter what it is, and
then, then go out and get somerocks of different sizes.
But what are your big rocks?
What's most important to you?
What is it you want most inlife?
You know?
And that may be your health.

(13:32):
I mean, it's up to you, yourhealth.
Sure.
Your relationships, yourwhatever it is.
But those are your big rocks.
And then there'll be two orthree big biggest rocks.
Mm-hmm.
And then you move downward.
Okay.
What?
What's next with the mediumsized ones?
And then you move on down.
And then in that container thatthey.
Got.
Mm-hmm.
And they could, I could, forexample, use my, my cup, but it

(13:54):
is full of water right now.
But you could use, sure, youcould use something bigger than
this, but it's what I happen tohave handy.
So what we often do is we putall those little things, the
small rocks into our container, and then there's no more room
for the big rocks.
Yeah.
So, so that is the, the, thereversal that needs to happen.
And they will take, uh, so putthe big rocks in first.

(14:17):
Yep.
So you get, get them done.
You can work with them, put themedium rocks in that, so they're
still there.
You put those little bits ofgravel or smaller stones in.
After that, they're gonna seatdown in, they're still in the
container.
They're still there.
They still get done, but the bigrocks will get done too, and the
medium rocks will get done too.
So you're not just doing all ofthese small bits of gravel.

(14:39):
You're doing the big rocks.
So in this particular scenariothat I'm telling you, she
actually took her container andshe put it right beside her
office desk, and she looked atit and I've had other, you know,
and that this brought her rightto the point where she could
handle everything that was goingon.
Mm-hmm.
There was a lot that was goingon.
Yeah.
What are my big rocks?
You know?
Yeah.
Deal with them.

(14:59):
Okay.
This is not a big rock.
Okay.
Yeah.
Don't deal with that kind ofthing.

Speaker (15:03):
Nice.

Speaker 2 (15:04):
So, yeah, so the big rocks has worked very well.
And I have done that with groupsof people.
I have one time when, uh, I was,it was a, a hospital had called
me in to speak to people andthey had a couple of other
hospitals in their, their cadrewho mm-hmm.
Who came in via, uh, video.
So they were up the sort of atthe top and then this group of

(15:26):
people around here, and samething, big rocks, a lot of other
things too.
But we did the big rocks forthem.
I do that.
Fairly, fairly often.
It depends what's needed, ofcourse.
And they would say to me, okay,I'm gonna find my big rocks.

Speaker (15:41):
Yep.

Speaker 2 (15:41):
It's, it is just, it can be simple, but it's not easy
to do because it doesn't come toyou.

Speaker (15:47):
Yes.
Until somebody, oh,

Speaker 2 (15:48):
you think, oh, I can do that.

Speaker (15:51):
Yeah.
I love that.
There you go.
I love that.
And I love how it's, um, aphysical representation which
brings you right back into it.
It, uh, connects you to it soyou don't lose the idea of it.
I love that.
Thank you for that share.

Speaker 2 (16:08):
Mm-hmm.
And it's always there.

Speaker (16:10):
Yeah.
Yeah.
Exactly.
Exactly.
Yeah.
Yeah.
W would you do us a favor andexplain how would you initially
work with a new student?
You've talked about howeverybody's so different.
What would that look like?
Yes.

Speaker 2 (16:28):
Mm-hmm.
Um, individually.
Mm-hmm.
So when people register, um,through my link, they will, as
soon as I get the notification.
They will receive a and I, I'lljust send an email at that
point.
Yep.
From me with a link to meet withme at their convenience.

(16:51):
Several.
Nice.
They will also receive, uh, aninvitation to join.
I, I have the group programs andthen I have the individual ones
as well.
And it stemmed from many yearsago, teaching in academia.
I would have a, uh, you know, the group, the class, and then
the class would be divided intogroups and so they could access

(17:13):
their own group at the time, because I have several different
focus areas, all of which cometogether.
And it really depends what theyneed, where we go with it.
And these focus areas, um, arenot discreet.
They do mingle with each other.
So it really is an individualthing.
So I would meet individually,uh, I would immediately start

(17:36):
with the safety, the Somasupport, so somatic the body
mind support, because safety isso important, feeling safe, and
so many of us don't in thisworld.
Oh, and you know, dependingwhat's happened.
So we do that.
Uh, and that can be very simple.
Just, you know, right now putyour hands on your heart there.
I'm not doing, there you go.

(17:56):
Mm-hmm.
Like, so, and that's a anothertip for you right now.
Those of you who are listeningmm-hmm.
Just bring your hands to yourheart, slow down, slow your
breathing.
And that's so much support, butthere's a lot more to it and
Sure.
And depending what people need,I would do that.
We would unearth the, whateverthey're ready to tell me about

(18:19):
their situation.
Right.
And that's develops over timequite often, or sometimes it's
right away.
It just depends.
Right?
And then I will meet each ofthem on an ongoing basis, again,
at their convenience, generallythroughout the, the program, um,
duration, which is generally a.
Every two weeks or so, butagain, their choice

Speaker (18:40):
mm-hmm.

Speaker 2 (18:40):
I find in general, once a week is, is, um, a little
too quickly for most people toRight.
To put into, into practice whatwe've, we've talked about.
Code and whatnot.
So we don't necessarily do that.
And I found that waiting a monthis probably too long for most
people.
Right?
Yep.
Again, it's up to them, generally works out to every two

(19:02):
weeks.
And if we need to change, weneed to change.
And if there's an emergency, I'malways available, you know?
Right.
Contact me.
We'll, we'll meet somehow.

Speaker (19:10):
Um,

Speaker 2 (19:10):
I've, I've got what I need to connect no matter where
I am, even if I'm traveling, soI can do that.
Sure.

Speaker (19:16):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (19:17):
Yeah.
And that, and I have taught fromvarious places, including cruise
ships and various things.
There's different countries.
I mean, you can, on theinternet, you can, you can teach
from anywhere or coach fromanywhere for sure.
So, yeah.
Yeah.
Does that answer the question?
Absolutely.
Absolutely.
That's, that's where we wouldstart.
Yeah.
And, and I expand theirpermission fields, as I said

(19:38):
before.
So they simply can go givethemselves permission, right?
To do whatever comes next, andthat will come to that.

Speaker (19:48):
Yeah, I love how you guide, and it's based on the
client.
It's not based on, here's theprogram, go and do it.
It's a, this is the skeletalpieces around it, but I need to
meet with you to guide you towhere you need to be based on

(20:09):
what you're sharing with me.
And it unfolds differently, I'msure, with different people over
various timeframes, right?

Speaker 2 (20:17):
Mm-hmm.
Well, as it unfolds too, in thedifferent mm-hmm.
Stages.
'cause I have the, the, the sixfocus areas, but I also have
five stages that people gothrough.
And the initial couple ofstages, they're, they're more
the, the sens type in, in mostcases.
Okay.
Uh, so they're types associatedwith this, and then they become
reflective.

(20:39):
Yeah.
So moving up and then eventuallycontemplative.
And different.
So there are different thingsalong here.
Right.
And milestones.
And action plans and

Speaker (20:50):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (20:50):
All that.
All that stuff.
All this stuff.

Speaker (20:53):
Pulling it all together.

Speaker 2 (20:55):
Yeah.
Yeah.
On an individual basis for eachperson.
Yeah.
So they get the results thatthey came here to get.
Perfect.
Mm-hmm.
Perfect.

Speaker (21:03):
What a gift.
What a gift.
And I'm so grateful that youhave taken your wealth, breadth,
and depth of knowledge andcontinue to.
Keep it out there.
Keep your arms open for thosewho are in the receptive frame
of mind and are ready for, likeyou said in the beginning.

(21:26):
I know I need a change.
I just don't know how.
I don't know.
There's something telling me,but I don't know what to do.
Barbara Wood Watson is yourwoman.
Reach out to her if you are inexactly what we've been talking
about.
I think there's more, I don'tknow what I'm gonna do next, or
how do I get there?

(21:48):
And it could be an experiencethat you've had right now, or it
could be something from previousyears.
Who knows?
Everybody's journey isdifferent, right?
Yeah.
Yes.
Yeah, Barbara is here.
People, yeah, go ahead.
Okay, go

Speaker 2 (22:03):
ahead.
Whoa.

Speaker (22:03):
No,

Speaker 2 (22:04):
with your question, I'm probably about to answer it.
I just have had people who haveactually gone back to the womb
during the meditations, sothey've gone to various areas,
depending what we're doing, butwe do that type of thing as
well.
And going back to the womb tolook at what happened at that
point, et cetera.
Yeah.

Speaker (22:24):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (22:25):
There's, so what were you gonna ask?
Was that it,

Speaker (22:27):
that No, I, um, I was going to ask, is there anything
that you want to share or leaveour listeners with?
I'm gonna share with everybodyas always in our show notes,
there is information on how tofind Barbara, how to.
Find her silence, the stressinformation, which everybody can

(22:50):
use these days.
There's no doubt about it in mymind, but is there anything that
you'd love to leave ourlisteners with before we wrap up
today?
Mm-hmm.

Speaker 2 (23:03):
So what I would say is put your hands on your heart,
breathe slowly and just askyourself, what are my deepest
dreams?
Mm.
And then ask yourself, what if,as Denise said in the beginning,
what if all the messages that Ineed are right there in my

(23:26):
energy field and the universalenergy field?
All I need to do is, is figureout how to get that and get it
to work for me.
Just ask yourself that, and ifyou're so inclined, if it calls
to you, come and see me.
We'll figure it out for you.
Yeah, that's it.

Speaker (23:44):
Perfect.
Thank you so, so much forjoining us in this powerful
conversation.
So many tips and strategies andknowledge being shared.
If today's episode has.
Spoken to your heart.
I would love to have you followthe show, share this episode

(24:05):
with a friend, leave a review somore women can find this
message.
And make sure you check the shownotes because we will have
information where you cancontact and find Barbara.
And if you're ready to go.
Deeper with My ME academy.

(24:26):
The doors open there onSeptember 30th.
This is your invitation to stepfully into the woman you were
always meant to be.
Thank you so much, Barbara, forsharing your time, your wisdom,
and your energy with us today.
Thank you.
It's been a pleasure.

(24:48):
Very grateful.
Thank you.
Bye-Bye everyone.
