Ebony Fleming (00:02):
Hey loves, and
welcome to part three in the
finale of our Thrive Like aMother's mini-series that in
here, a mama's quiet moments,and I'm gonna keep.
I'm gonna keep this one shortand sweet because I really just
want to jump right into it andshare something that I think, as
(00:26):
mamas, we need to hear, we needto remind ourselves but maybe
we don't hear and don't remindourselves as often and that is
that all throughout motherhood, all throughout the challenges, a
reminder that you're doing anamazing job, a reminder that the
(00:52):
beauty of it all outweighs anyof the temporary hardships that
come with being a mama.
And so I'm really just going tojust jump right in here and,
like I said, this is the finaleand I just hope that you listen
to this as many times as youneed the reminder.
(01:14):
I hope that this voice notehelps you remember to say these
exact words to yourself, givesyou the courage to say these
things to yourself when you aregoing through a tough time in
(01:34):
motherhood, when you're goingthrough beautiful happy times in
motherhood, just tocontinuously tell yourself how
amazing you are as a mama andremind yourself how much your
little ones love you so, so much.
So I'm going to jump right in.
I hope you enjoy and I haveabsolutely loved sharing these
(01:59):
notes from from my very heartwith y'all in this mini series
and I can't wait to chat soon.
Ooh, y'all.
Being a mom is Gosh.
(02:20):
I can't even put it into oneword if I tried.
It's challenging, it'sbeautiful, it's maddening.
Sometimes it's stressful, it'sempowering.
All of these things, right?
All of these things.
I'm going to take a second tojust let all the mamas know out
(02:45):
there that you're doing a greatjob.
You are doing a great job.
Y'all know the week that I'vehad were weeks that I've had,
you know.
You see highlight reels andsocial media, right, the
beautiful things.
(03:06):
I try to be as transparent aspossible but sometimes, when
you're in it, you don'tnecessarily want to share the
things.
You know everything to socialmedia.
But with Henry, I'm not sure Idon't know if this is because
he's our third one and you knowwe now have a very full house,
(03:29):
you know, and we have a toddler,we have a six-year-old who's
about to start first grade, thetoddler who is saying no to
everything and I want to do itby myself and I love that for
her.
I love that she is stepping, you know, know into her
personality more, herindependence a lot more.
But it makes things sochallenging, right, it makes
(03:54):
things so challenging, especially the way, as a parent,
where there's no guidebook, there's no guidebook, there's no
rule book to say do it this wayor that way.
You, what looks best for yourfamily and what's best may not
always be right.
You're always learning, right.
So I just want to tell you andsay you're doing an amazing job,
(04:16):
however way you're doing it,because you are showing up, you
are learning, you are being opento learning new ways of doing
things, learning yourself andyour children, because they're
little people too, right, you'redoing amazing at processing all
of these emotions.
Like I said, there's not oneword to describe what being a
(04:39):
mother is.
As I'm recording this, I look atmy little one who's
breastfeeding, and he justpopped off real quick to smile
at me.
And it's those glimmers, right, those glimmers that I want to
remind you to hold on to,because if I tell you how hard
this week has been and it hasbeen hard, it's been a weekend
(05:03):
weeks, months of sleepdeprivation and not even
sleeping through the night, consistently, it's hard, right,
and I could just focus on that.
I could choose to say man, it'smotherhood stuff, right?
Yeah, I'm never getting anysleep again, um, but with this
(05:24):
being number three, we've gonethrough this now and it does get
easier.
As they get older, it getsdifferent.
You know there are newchallenges, but I don't want to
say you'll never sleep again.
I don't want to say you'llnever sleep again because you
will.
Everything is temporary.
Y'all, the good, the bad.
(05:45):
Everything is temporary andit's what you choose to focus on
.
I choose, in this moment, to behere and remind myself that
there are beautiful things aboutmotherhood.
The beauty outweighs thechallenges.
The beauty outweighs it andeven though it's all temporary,
(06:09):
I choose to hold onto the morebeautiful and really, truly let
go of those challenges, because, even though it's hard now, it
will always be, and even thoughhe needs me more now, he won't
always.
You're doing an amazing job,mama.
(06:30):
Yes, I need to say it one moretime so I can make sure that you
hear that you're doing anamazing job and no one else can
do it the way that you're doingit no one.
Thank you so much for listeningloves.
If anything in today's episoderesonated with you, share it
(06:52):
with your bestie or on socialmedia, and don't forget to tag
me so we can chat about it.
As always, I'm sending youlight and love and remember you
are worthy, you are enough andyou deserve to thrive.
Talk to you soon.
