Ngược lại, khi người trẻ hướng dẫn công nghệ qua thử thách, người lớn tuổi cảm nhận được sự quan tâm và kiên nhẫn.
Nghiên cứu dài hạn tại 500 gia đình cho thấy những gia đình có hoạt động vui chơi chung thường xuyên có tỷ lệ xung đột giảm 52%, mức độ hài lòng với cuộc sống gia đình tăng 61%. Đặc biệt, trẻ em trong những gia đình này có điểm số phát triển cảm xúc cao hơn 34% so với bình thường. Người cao tuổi cũng có mức độ hạnh phúc và sức khỏe tinh thần tốt hơn đáng kể khi được tham gia các hoạt động đa thế hệ.
Tâm Lý Gắn Kết Qua Trải Nghiệm Chung
Như đã đề cập ở phần đầu về hormone oxytocin, khi cùng nhau trải qua những cảm xúc tích cực trong thử thách, não bộ tiết ra "hormone tình yêu" giúp tăng cường sự gắn bó. Một ông nội 78 tuổi chia sẻ: "Khi cháu hướng dẫn ông chơi game đoán hình, ông mới biết cháu thông minh và kiên nhẫn đến thế nào."
Xóa Bỏ Rào Cản Thế Hệ
Đã giải thích sơ bộ ở trên về ngôn ngữ chung, thử thách vui nhộn tạo ra "sân chơi" công bằng nơi kiến thức và kỹ năng của mỗi thế hệ đều có giá trị. Bà ngoại có thể thắng cháu trong trò đoán tên loài hoa, nhưng cháu lại dẫn đầu ở thử thách công nghệ. Sự cân bằng này xóa bỏ cảm giác "thua kém" hoặc "lạc hậu".

Season 5 - The Burden: Death & Deceit in Alliance On April Fools Day 1999, 26-year-old Yvonne Layne was found murdered in her Alliance, Ohio home.
