You're listening to to the Spirit Podcast.
Hello and welcome back to to theSpirit Podcast.
I'm your host Beck, and I'm thrilled to have you here for

(00:23):
another deep dive into the mysterious, the unexplained, and
dare I say it, the downright bizarre.
If you're new here, this is the show where we explore all things
paranormal, spiritual and metaphysical with a dash of fun.
Because you know, hey, we all need some levity when talking
about the unknown, right? As always joining me as my
fantastic Co host. Welcome, welcome.

(00:45):
It's Rachel here. Hi, Rach.
Hi. How are you feeling about
today's topic? I'm feeling a little lost in the
time. Oh, that makes sense.
Now, before we jump in, I need to tell you something.
I've officially changed Emmett'sfull Christian name to Emmett

(01:05):
Louis Alexander Pelton the Third.
That's his full government name. That's his.
It's going to be put on his Social Security card, definitely
on his birth certificate. Did he agree with that?
I don't think so. You can still call him Emmett or
Emmy Lou if you'd like, but I decided to go with Emmett.
Louis Alexander Pelton the third.

(01:26):
It was more fitting. Yes, I mean he is a very regal
type of character. Regal All right, well, let me
set the stage. Today we're talking about time
slips, those eerie moments wherepeople claim to be yanked out of
the present and plopped into another era entirely.
Be honest, if you could experience a time slip, would

(01:47):
you rather go forward into the shiny robot filled future or
back to the, let's say the medieval days where showers are
optional? I don't know if the the future.
I just feel like things aren't driving with me.
I think I'd like to go back. Going back.
I'm going to go back. I'm thinking future as long as

(02:07):
it doesn't involve being chased by terminators.
You never know. Well, time slips are one of
these phenomenon that make you question everything that you
thought you knew about reality. Are they glitches in the matrix?
Proof of parallel timelines or just someone who's had one too
many drinks at the local pub? That's what we're here to figure
out. So grab your tinfoil hats folks,

(02:29):
because we're diving head first into the mind bending world of
time anomalies. But first we need to talk about
what a time slip actually is. Essentially, it's when someone
suddenly finds themselves transported to another period in
history or even the future, without the aid of a DeLorean or
a malfunctioning TARDIS. Most accounts describe it as a

(02:52):
fleeting experience, kind of like stepping into a historical
movie set, except it's all too real.
You see people in period clothing, you're going to hear
sounds from another era, maybe even smell things.
That's, let's be honest, we're probably glad stayed in the
past. You don't want to smell the
chamber pots I. Don't want or the horrible body

(03:14):
odor, the hairy legs. Then just as suddenly, you're
back in the present. It's like reality hiccuped and
then you slip through the cracks.
Rach, does that give you goosebumps or are you more in
the camp of it's probably swamp gas?
No, I, I believe in it. Have you ever experienced a time
slip? You know, there's a lot of

(03:36):
different variations of time slips, and I experience it with
you and I experience it with ourfriend Andrea, and I think we
all experience it when we're alltogether as well.
When you're a higher frequency vibrational being and you're
with people who are also on a very high vibrational energy

(03:57):
level, time disappears. I feel like I could be here with
you in five hours. Just goes like nothing.
It does and it's insane. And I don't know how to explain
that, but we speed up time because when you're with
somebody that is a lower vibrational and you're stuck

(04:17):
with them, you feel like time goes incredibly slow.
Kind of like some people at their jobs that they hate and
they're like, is this day ever going to end?
Yeah, I know the clock in my carand on my wall are always being
different than my digital clocks, which is strange.
Sometimes I'll get into the car and go why?
And. And I'm not talking like a.
Daylight savings time. Yeah, I'm not talking daylight

(04:39):
savings. I'm talking I'll get in the car
and for some reason my car is off by minutes or sometimes even
an hour. It's very odd.
Yeah, my oven time and my coffeepot.
I will set them forever like I've always set them at the same
time. 1 will start all of a sudden being faster than the
other. And it makes you think, is there

(04:59):
somebody controlling the time? Because my phone is saying
something different than the cable box.
It's saying something different than the analog wall clock,
which is saying something different.
It's so odd. It's just odd.
I know. I was driving with my mom at one
point to Lilydale, past Buffalo, and I think that's a good four
and a half, four to four and a half hour drive.

(05:21):
All I know is we made record time.
We got there within two, 2 1/2 hours.
It was unheard of because I usedto drive to Buffalo in the 90s
to see my friends that went to college there and it always took
me about 3 1/2 hours. From here to there, I hate the
drive to Buffalo. It always takes forever.
And so it was really, really oddto me and my mother that the

(05:42):
time had completely it was like we were missing time.
We were missing time. And we thought, was this some
sort of ET thing? Did we get picked up and
transported and not know where did that go?
Because on the way home, it was the full span of time.
It was like, are we ever going to get home?
But on the way there we literally were missing time.
You 2 are probably both vibrating in a very high level

(06:03):
because you're on your way to the psychic town.
That could have been it. And your mom's a Pisces too,
right? She is, Yeah.
So you got 2 Pisces vibrating onthe way to psychic town.
You guys, You guys went through a portal.
If you got there, a record dive. And on the way back to the
shithole, it took a longer time. And then you.
Drained all your energy, so thenyou're completely depleted and

(06:25):
then you got to take the long way back.
Well, I want to dive deeper intothe difference between 2
fascinating phenomena that be time slips and glitches in the
matrix. Because those two things can get
a little confusing and while they may seem similar at first
glance, they are quite distinct in both experience and
interpretation. Let's break it down.

(06:47):
A time slip occurs when someone appears to step out of the
present moment and step into another period of time.
This could be in the past or in rare cases, the future.
The hallmark of a time slip is that it feels immersive, almost
as if you physically travel to another time period.
Here's some key features You're going to vividly experience a
historical setting, complete with people, architecture, and

(07:09):
events from that era. It's not just a mental or visual
experience, it actually feels like you're there.
And these experiences often end as suddenly as they begin,
leaving you back in the present moment with no clear explanation
of how it happened. Time slips are often theorized
to be caused by distortions in the fabric of time, overlapping

(07:29):
timelines, or thin spots where the veil between time periods
becomes permeable. For instance, there are famous
cases of people in modern times walking through a street and
then suddenly finding themselvessurrounded by people in period
clothing, only to snap back moments later to the present.
Now, a glitch in the matrix is something entirely different.

(07:50):
This phenomenon feels more like a hiccup or an error in reality
itself. The term was popularized by the
movie The Matrix, and that suggests that reality may be a
simulation, and that these glitches are the equivalent of
bugs in the system. These characteristics are you

(08:10):
know, you may see events repeat themselves, like a person
walking past you twice in the same exact way.
Or objects may appear and then disappear or inexplicably move
from one place to another. You could experience anomalies
in memory or perception, such asvividly recalling an event that
others insist never happened. Unlike a time slip, glitches in

(08:33):
the Matrix are tied to the present timeline.
They don't involve traveling to another era, but instead reveal
inconsistencies or malfunctions and what we perceive as reality.
Theories about glitches range from simulation theory to
psychological phenomena such as memory lapses or shifts in
perception. I have got another incredible

(08:55):
glitch in the matrix story for you although this story I'm not
entirely sure if it's a glitch in the matrix or a haunting I
don't know which it is and I want to know your opinion.
This story was sent in by Jason to the podcast and it was read
out on mini episode #302 of reallife Ghost Stories podcast.
Let's get into it. Our story takes place in
Rochester in Kent in 2018 and itis a quiet spring Saturday

(09:17):
morning and Jason is bringing his dogs for a walk at about
8:00 in the morning. As he's walking his dogs towards
it's the local churchyard, he sees an old Rover 3500, a brown
one parked outside the churchyard.
The car is from around the 1970sand he sees it and immediately
thinks wow, that is a well kept car.
It is Immaculate for its age. As he's approaching the car, the

(09:42):
closer he gets, the more uneasy he starts to feel, like a really
unsettled feeling in the pit of his stomach, like something just
isn't right. As he approaches the car, he
sees a man in the driver seat, and this man has shoulder length
dark hair. He has a mustache.
He's wearing these gold rimmed glasses and a really wide
collared jacket, and Jason looksat him and the man is just

(10:05):
staring out the window straight ahead of him with a really sort
of sad faraway look on his face.Jason said that he'd gotten the
impression that the man was looking at him but couldn't see
him. Like he was looking right
through him. And in the passenger seat of the
car was a woman. She had blonde hair, was wearing
a white roll neck jumper and wasstaring like wide eyed open

(10:27):
mouthed in absolute shock. He said that her mouth and her
eyes were literally wide open and she had that look of
somebody who just couldn't believe what they were seeing.
He also noticed that in the backof the car there seemed to be a
child, but he couldn't really make out any details.
At this point Jason is feeling abit weird about the whole thing.
He quickens his pace and goes about his business on his walk.
Can't quite understand why he's feeling unnerved, but he goes

(10:50):
and he does About an hour's walkand he comes back and as he
exits the churchyard, the brown Rover is still there.
And he immediately gets that uneasy feeling in his stomach
again. And guess what?
As he approached the car, the people were still in the car,
still frozen in the same positions.

(11:12):
The man is sitting in the front seat, lost, far away.
Look in his eyes. The woman is sitting next to
him, eyes wide open, mouth wide open in a look of shock and
horror, and he can still see that there is a child in the
back seat of the car. It looks to him like the people
are completely frozen, like theyhaven't moved in the hour that

(11:33):
has passed. Jason said that he literally
could not get out of there quickenough, and since then he has
wondered, did he see a time slip?
Like who were these people? What were they doing there?
If this was some sort of weird practical joke, why and what?
What is gained by that? When I read that story on the
podcast it literally gave me theheebie jeebies and I want to

(11:54):
know your opinion. How were they frozen for like an
hour? Is it a time slip?
Is it a haunting? What was going on?
There just want to give a shout out because that clip came from
Real life Ghost Stories pod, so you can check that out if you're
feeling inclined. If he went through some kind of
portal to be able to see that. Knowing what we know, we know

(12:17):
that wasn't a time slip because he didn't go back or forward.
So possibly a glitch in the matrix?
Yeah, possibly a glitch. Or do you think it's more on the
paranormal scale? Or does he have an ability to
freeze time? That's a good theory.
See, it's strange because all this stuff ties together, and as

(12:39):
I was doing the research for this episode, I was finding more
and more that kind of overlaid. So I just want to clarify and
touch upon it all briefly because another intriguing
phenomenon that some believe ties into these experiences is
the doppelganger. A doppelganger is essentially a
double or identical copy of a person, often seen as a

(13:00):
harbinger of bad luck or supernatural occurrence.
And here's how they might connect and time slips.
Encountering your doppelganger could signify a crossing of
timelines where you momentarily meet an alternate version of
yourself from another time or dimension.
A doppelganger and glitches might be perceived as a copy

(13:21):
paste error in the simulation, where reality momentarily
duplicates a person or an event. In both cases, the experience of
seeing a doppelganger often feels uncanny and leaves people
questioning the nature of reality.
Historical accounts of doppelgangers describe
individuals meeting their doubleS in places they shouldn't
logically exist, and that adds to the mystery.

(14:52):
Another fascinating topic when we look at this dealing with
shadows or time slip, something that can bleed through from
another moment in time. So I personally believe time is
all concurrent, past, present, future, all happening at the
same time. And I've heard some fascinating
stories that some people consider them like a
doppelganger type story, which fascinating story by the famous

(15:13):
German poet Goethe where he talks about seeing, essentially
seeing himself walking down the street from the other side, not
realizing at first, but years later realizing, wait a minute,
that was myself, you know, but people call that a doppelganger,
but it's not. It's some sort of time slip and
a story that was related to me acouple years ago now was this
young man, when he was a small child, had walked into the

(15:37):
kitchen, saw a tall dark hooded figure standing by the kitchen
table, scared him to death, he ran out of the room.
Years later, he's in the kitchen, he's at the table, he's
making himself a sandwich, he's wearing a hoodie.
And all of a sudden in the doorway he sees a smaller shadow
person walk into the room and then run back out and it hits
him. Wait a minute, that was me.

(15:58):
So you know what happened there. It was some sort of slip in
time, and it only manifested itself as a shadow, not as, you
know, any full being in that moment.
And that clip came from Mike Ricksecker.
That is very interesting becauseI wouldn't have tied
doppelgangers into this whole thing, but it makes sense in a

(16:20):
way. Have you ever experienced
anything with the doppelganger? Not necessarily with myself.
I had an experience one time when I was in my apartment, one
of the weird stuff happened in the apartment I lived in and I
was in the bathroom and the doorwas open and I see David run
down the hall like he's chasing one of the dogs.

(16:42):
David's your partner, just so everyone knows.
And I see him kind of just run down the hall and then I get out
of the bathroom and I walk into the bedroom and he's in there
folding laundry. And is this a doppelganger or is
this a mimic or what is this? Or was it just something like
trap time? Like something time slump?

(17:03):
Yeah, like a time slip. Interesting, yeah, See how it
ties in. I looked at him shocked and I'm
like, did you just run down the hall?
And he's like, no, but I, I swear it was him.
That's like the way he runs after the dogs and stuff.
So I was, I was weirded out likewas that?
I have a story that's strange too that goes along the lines of
this. I have a couple friends, Jason,

(17:24):
who's been on the podcast before, that I've worked with on
Umbrella Holics and his partner Maggie.
They experienced some very strange things down in New York
City, which is what, 10 million people there in their
neighborhood. There's a little bodega that
they stop at one day. She walks in to pick something
up at the bodega, and the bodegaowner says, your boyfriend has

(17:48):
come in here late at night at like 3:00 in the morning,
totally drunk, and the story's wasted.
And she's like, what are you? What?
So she confronts him and she's like, are you getting wasted and
going down? He's like, what are you talking
about? Why would I do that?
It blew his mind. This guy said it was his
identical twin, right? Cut to a couple weeks later,

(18:13):
they go to the 711. She always orders the same thing
and for the purposes of this, let's say it's taquitos.
I don't know why I picked taquitos.
So she goes in to get her taquitos and as they both
entered the store, they said, oh, you already came in here
earlier and got taquitos. You're back for more already.
But they were completely shook. She was like, what are you

(18:36):
talking about? And they were like, what were
you talking about? You come here, you get taquitos
all the time. We we just gave you taquitos.
And so everyone was shook from this because these people
claimed these workers, it was absolutely, 100% her.
And they were so mind blown. They thought she had a twin.

(18:56):
They thought she was messing with them.
And then meanwhile, Jason and Maggie are at home going, what
in the Hell's going on? Now, if that's the case, was
this a time slip? Were these doppelgangers?
Or in the instance of Jason, wasthis like the dark Jason that
went in there at 3:00 in the morning, trashed evil Jason?

(19:17):
Yeah, the evil alternate Jason, It made him question reality.
It also made me think. They say everyone has a
doppelganger. I mean, how many of these things
are running around? How many versions of us are
lighting? Have you had somebody?
I've had this. Somebody's like, I was out
somewhere and I saw someone thatlooked just like you look.
Just like I've seen people that looked just like other people.

(19:39):
Remember the Delia's ad? You know the clothing line
Delia's my friend was like, there's this girl in the
Delia's. She looks just like you.
And it was like in a little pinkbeanie.
And I used to wear like little beanies like that.
And she showed me her, and I waslike, holy.
Shit, was it weird? It looked just like me.
Did it freak you out? Yeah, it would freak me out too.

(20:01):
I've had instances where people have said, wow this person looks
just like you and I've worked inthe building with them.
And when I've met them, I'm like, they don't.
Oh, sometimes they're like just low key offended.
Yeah, low key. Like we're, we're kind of
different, OK, we're both similar in certain aspects, but
we have totally different hair, different noses.

(20:22):
Like I don't get. Oh, interesting.
What you think I look like? I want to make it simple and do
a quick comparison guide becauseI think it's going to help us a
little bit with this mind blowing stuff.
Here we're going to talk about the nature between the time
slip, the glitch in the matrix, and the doppelganger.
So the nature in the time slip is an immersion into another

(20:43):
time period. The glitch in the matrix nature
is reality malfunctioning in thepresent.
And then the doppelganger is obviously encountering your
identical double the time slip. You're seeing a historical or
future setting and that's perceived and the glitch in the
matrix, anomalies or inconsistencies in reality and

(21:04):
the experience as a doppelgangerseeing yourself or someone
else's double theories we've got.
The time slip is temporal distortions or time travel.
To me, I always associate time travel with time slips.
Glitch in the matrix is a simulation, hypothesis, or
perceived errors. So it's always a glitch, an
error, an inconsistency, A malfunction.

(21:25):
And then a doppelganger is alternate realities or
supernatural causes. And then the feeling in a time
slip, you're journeying to another time and the glitch,
it's an unsettling hiccup in your current reality.
And as a doppelganger, it's an eerie or ominous encounter, as
we just both spoke about. We could go deeper into this

(21:46):
because a topic that often comesup in discussions about time
slips and glitches and alternaterealities is CERN, the European
Organization for Nuclear Research.
And here's why people believe that CERN might play a role.
Their Large Hadron Collider conducts experiments involving
high energy particle collisions. Some theorists speculate that

(22:09):
these experiments could inadvertently create distortions
in space-time or open small portals to other dimensions.
This is where the Mandela Effectcomes in.
So here we go. We got another layer as a
Mandela Effect, a phenomenon where groups of people recall
historical details differently. Those tie into CERNS activities.
They're up to no good, suggesting that reality itself

(22:33):
might have been altered by theirexperiments.
And then of course, you got the fringe theories that claim that
CERNS work could destabilize ouruniverse, creating riffs that
manifest as time slips, glitches, or alternate
realities. While there's no scientific
evidence to support these claims, they do add an element
of intrigue to the discussion. It is worth noting that CERN has

(22:55):
publicly stated that their research is focused on advancing
our understanding of fundamentalphysics and poses no risk to
reality as we know it. Like they're going to.
They're really going to tell us.However, the mysteries of the
universe and the sheer scale of their experiments, that leaves
plenty of room for speculation. Mm hmm.

(23:16):
While quantum physics explores the fundamental nature of
reality, it doesn't explicitly explain phenomena like time
slips or glitches. There are some concepts from
quantum mechanics that are ofteninvoked to theorize.
See I got confused because I'm like what Wait, is it quantum
this and quantum that? These phenomena are more closely

(23:37):
aligned with metaphysics if you're going to blanket them
all. A branch of philosophy that
deals with questions about the nature of reality, existence,
and time, metaphysics provides abroader, less empirically
constrained framework for exploring ideas like temporal
anomalies, which is time slips, simulation theories, glitches in
the matrix and the nature of self, and alternate identities

(23:58):
like doppelgangers. We have to touch on a couple
more points and one would be parapsychology.
And parapsychology is the study of paranormal and psychic
phenomena. Parapsychologist explore
apparitions and alternate realities as related to
doppelganger sightings, psychic impressions, or time imprints
that could explain time slips, anomalous experiences, and

(24:21):
consciousness that might align with glitches and perceptions or
reality. Time slips have theories
involving wormholes, cosmic strings, distortions in
space-time, general relativity. Glitches in the matrix are tied
to simulation theory, which suggests that our reality could
be a simulated construct. I don't know how I feel about

(24:43):
that by the way. I understand it.
If it's true, it's like, man, really?
You know, yeah, it's almost disappointing if it's true,
right? But there are, there are
definitely things there are. Things.
There are things. I just don't want to be a Sims,
you know what I mean? Oh my, have you played The Sims?
I haven't, but I know what it I've seen it and I've seen

(25:03):
people play it, Yeah. I've played The Sims, I watched
David play The Sims, and in my head I'm like, OK, who's playing
us? Who's Sims are we?
Who's clicking me to go upstairs, make food, go to the
bathroom, take shower? This is why I don't want it to
be a simulation theory. I just don't.
Many of these ideas are fueled by speculative fiction and

(25:23):
philosophical thought experiments, such as Plato's
Allegory of The Cave which questions the nature of
perceived reality, the impact ofmovies like The Matrix obviously
on popularizing simulation theory, and then the bending of
myth or folklore and modern interpretations of reality.
Let's get to the good stuff, thestories.

(25:45):
These are some first hand accounts from people who claim
to have experienced time slips. This is from William Paul
Lippen, the Third as like Emmett.
Oh, is that OK? Yeah.
The third. Yeah, the third.
I don't know where Emmett's first or second came from, but
the third is amazing. He's the third?
Yep. This is off of Kiora.
I never say it. Kiora.

(26:05):
Maybe Kiora? Yeah, something like we know
what you're saying, Yeah. Yeah, I've never had to say it
aloud. I just always read it.
OK so he said and they ask if you've experienced it.
He said yes. It's been three years and it
still haunts me to this day. My pregnant wife and I were
supposed to go into my in laws house for dinner on one evening.

(26:26):
They lived in a town about 30 miles away from us, so not too
far of a drive. We stopped off at a local gas
station and left at about 4:17 PM.
Before we left, my wife called my mother-in-law and informed
her we were on our way. We drove a consistent 65 mph and
talked about how getting there before 5:00 PM would be perfect

(26:47):
timing. When we walked in the front
door, they were sitting in theirliving room and they were
surprised that we were there. They said that they had thought
we bailed on them, so they ate and decided to relax for the
rest of the evening. We didn't know what they were
talking about until my father-in-law told us to look at
the clock. It was 8:30 PM.
Over 4 hours had passed. It took us over 4 hours to drive

(27:10):
30 miles doing 65 mph with no additional stops after the gas
station. Neither one of us used drugs or
alcohol because the line of workI'm in and due to my wife being
pregnant at the time. Where were we?
Why did it take so long? Why can't we remember what
happened? That sounds like my mother and I

(27:31):
on the way to Lilydale, except it was reversed.
So we it was faster and we didn't understand.
Like, why did we not remember all that travel that we were
missing? Yeah, if I blacked out, we
certainly would have crashed. So it makes no sense.
One of the most famous cases happened in Liverpool, England
on Bold St. in the 1990s. A man named Frank was shopping

(27:53):
with his wife. They decided to split up for a
bit and Frank walked down the street and suddenly noticed
everything around him had changed.
The cars were old fashioned, thepeople were dressed like it was
the 1950s, and the shops displayed items that hadn't been
sold for decades. And when he walked into a store
that seemed normal to him, he found that it was a modern
business. Once he stepped back outside, it

(28:16):
was like he'd temporarily stepped into the past.
That would be so cool. Wouldn't it?
As long as you could go back, I think it would be cool because
you're essentially kind of time travelling without a machine or
radiation or devices. Yeah, this one is posted on
Kiora by Miyoko O'Brien. My Co worker and I worked the

(28:37):
night shift in a nursing home. We worked together for several
years and followed the same routine every night.
We arrived to work at 10:00 PM and it would take about an hour
to settle in changing shifts with second shift at 11:00 PM.
We would sit and catch up with each other's lives or news about
the place we worked. We did this all the time between

(29:00):
11:00 PM to the longest. At 12:30 AM.
We would start doing our responsibilities that needed to
be done at night. But something happened we cannot
explain. We both all of a sudden stopped
talking and looked at the clock at the same time.
It was now 3:30 in the morning. We both lost three hours of

(29:20):
time. We have no idea how it was
already 3. AMI asked her how long we were
talking and she said 15 to 20 minutes.
I also felt like we were only talking this long when then we
recalled everything we were talking about and discovered
that what we both recall talkingabout would only have lasted
1530 minutes tops. We were missing 3 hours of time.

(29:45):
I recall us saying how weird that felt, as if we were in a
dreamlike state. I never experienced this again.
Wow. See, it happens more often than
we know or think about. That's what I feel like I
experienced with you like every time.
Yeah, I know. Which is funny because my
partner's always like, wow, you guys have been in there forever.

(30:07):
And I'm like, what? I feel like we're just, it's
been like an hour. I don't think David actually
understood it until he came over.
Right time. And just, yeah, we were here for
a while. I think you guys were here like
four or five hours and it just seemed like nothing.
And he understood. Maybe it's me.
Maybe it's my energy. It just speeds everything.
Yeah, I don't know. One of the most famous and well
documented time slip stories involved two women, Charlotte

(30:29):
Anne Moberly and Eleanor Jordain, who were both educators
and highly respected in their fields.
Their encounter took place in 19O1.
It's actually really famous. You'll see it all over TikTok
and it's often referred to as the Versailles time slip.
While visiting France, Moberly and Jordain decided to take a
day trip to the Palace of Versailles.
They wanted to see the Petit Trionnion.

(30:50):
I don't know if I'm saying that trionnion sounds good.
The Le Petit Trionnion, a small Chateau that is on the palace
grounds associated with Marie Antoinette.
And as they wandered through thegardens, they took a wrong turn
and became disoriented. Suddenly the atmosphere seemed
to shift, air felt heavy, almostoppressive, and then the

(31:10):
landscape around them changed. They noticed that the people
nearby looked strange, out of place and out of time.
The women describe seeing individuals dressed in 18th
century clothing, men wearing tricorn hats, and women in old
fashioned gowns. One man was described as having
pockmarked skin and wearing a large floppy hat, staring at

(31:34):
them in a way that left them feeling uneasy.
As they continued walking, they approached a woman sitting on
the grass, sketching. She wore like a pale gown and
had an elegant, regal demeanor. Moberly later described her as
looking exactly like Marie Antoinette.
As depicted in portraits, however, the encounter felt

(31:55):
dreamlike and surreal. Other strange details added to
the sense that something was amiss.
The sound of their footsteps seemed muted, as if the ground
absorbed the noise. The people they passed did not
acknowledge them, moving in oddly robotic or a detached
manner. Then, eventually, they found
their way back to a more familiar path, and the strange

(32:17):
sensations faded. When they returned to Versailles
later, they were shocked to findthat many of the landmarks they
had seen during their detour no longer existed or had been
significantly altered since the 18th century.
Intrigued and perplexed, the women researched the history of
Versailles and discovered that their experience aligned eerily
with historical counts of the palace grounds during the late
1700s. The sketches, the clothing, it

(32:40):
matched descriptions from that time, including details about a
small bridge and other features that had been destroyed.
Decades later, Moberly and Jordain published their
experience in a book titled An Adventure under Pseudonyms,
which gained both fascination and criticism.
Skeptics have dismissed their encounter as a shared delusion

(33:00):
or a product of an overactive imagination, but their account
remains one of the most detailedand compelling examples of a
time slip. What makes this story so
chilling is the credibility of the witnesses.
Both women were rational, educated, well respected, and
that makes their tale harder to dismiss as mere fantasy.
To this day, Moberly Jordain incident is studied and debated

(33:24):
by paranormal enthusiasts and historians alike.
This is from an anonymous redditor.
A few years ago I was on my way to the cinema with my husband.
It was evening so we left prettyearly to get good seats where we
live. To get to the cinema from our
house was a 5 to 10 minute drivestraight to an intersection with

(33:44):
a traffic light and through three roundabouts.
And then we were there. We left with 40 minutes to
spare, expecting to arrive with 30 minutes to buy food, tickets
and then queue for seats. We drove through the lights and
we're on the straight having a casual conversation.
I commented on a car that was driving up our ass.

(34:05):
Then suddenly we both had a really weird sensation of waking
up and we were driving down a random side road and we're going
really slow. We both looked at each other and
said what the hell, Turned around and got to the cinema as
the movie was starting. We lost about 20 to 25 minutes,
no explanation and got really crappy seats.

(34:28):
Maybe they eat edibles? That would make.
Sense that reminds me of a storyof these two couples, Jeff and
Pauline Simpson and Len and Cynthia Gisby, and they were
driving through the French countryside and they were
heading towards Spain for a holiday.
It was getting late and they decided to find a place to stay
for the night. After some time they spotted a
small isolated hotel and then they decided to pull over.

(34:51):
The building had an old world charm, stone walls, wooden
beams, no modern amenities like telephones or televisions.
Even the staff were dressed in an outdated 19th century
clothing. At the time, the couple saw
nothing of it, assuming it was just a quaint old fashioned and
catering to tourists seeking a rustic experience.
They checked in, enjoyed a very basic but Hardy meal and then

(35:15):
went to bed in rooms furnished with simple wooden furniture and
heavy linens. That's a short but sweet story
and I don't know why it remindedme of the other one, but it did
shit I forgot. I saw that reminded you of this.
There's no there's more to the story.
I'm thinking, what did I do lastnight in my sleeplessness?

(35:36):
The next morning, the couples were greeted by a group of
people in vintage uniforms who appeared to be soldiers.
They assumed there was some kindof historical reenactment
happening nearby. However, the soldiers didn't
interact with them beyond brief nods.
And then, after breakfast, they were charged an astonishingly
low price for their stay, less than the equivalent of a few

(35:57):
dollars. Bemused, but not questioning
their luck, they paid the bill and left the hotel to continue
their journey on their way back to England. 2 weeks later, the
couples decided to stay at the Charming Inn again, but when
they returned to the spot where they remembered it being, the
hotel was gone and its place wasnothing but an empty field.

(36:18):
Perplexed, they asked locals about the end, but no one had
ever heard of it. Oh no.
Curiosity turned into determination and the couple
searched for the end using the receipts from their stay.
To their astonishment, they discovered that the paper and
ink used were unlike any modern materials and appeared to be at
least 100 years old. Adding to the mystery, the

(36:39):
French soldiers they had seen that morning were later
identified as being in uniform, specific to the late 1800's.
The couples were shaken by the incident, but ultimately, they
had no explanation for what had happened.
Some theorists suggest that theyexperienced a time slip.
They briefly stepped into a pastera.
I wouldn't call that brief if you're staying the night and
eating a hearty meal. But others speculate that it

(37:01):
could have been a mass hallucination or an elaborate
hoax. But the couples swore by their
story for the rest of their lives.
That account remains one of the most compelling cases of
potential time slip. How thin is the veil between our
reality in the past? Could certain locations act as
portals to other times? That would be fantastic to

(37:21):
experience. I think that would be cool.
I like that everyone goes back. You're not locked in and stuck.
Can you imagine going into the wrong place at the wrong time?
Oh no, you're like, do you have ibuprofen?
We just have cocaine. I guess that'll do.
It'd be some people's dream. I know we just have some arsenic

(37:43):
and mercury for your wounds. So this is from another redditor
that goes by R Creepy. Yesterday while driving home
from seeing family in Apple Valley, CA, I believed we had an
honest encounter with the missing time phenomena.
We left our family's house at approximately 9:16 PM according

(38:06):
to the dash, and about 3.5 milesdown in open desert, we came
across railroad tracks with its railroad crossing, arms down and
lights flashing. We didn't see an oncoming train,
so I rolled down the window to see if I could hear a train in
the distance, but there was nothing but silence.
Eerily silent. I looked back down at the clock

(38:28):
and it was 11:36 PM. I looked at my phone and it read
the same. My wife and I are absolutely
dumbfounded. Over 2 hours and we were still
only a few miles onto our 65 mile drive.
Whoa. I'd be more than dumbfounded.

(38:49):
I'd be pissed. I'd be mad.
Let's just turn around. Yeah?
Come on, man. Could science offer any
explanation for these anomalies? One theory rooted in quantum
physics is called quantum immortality, or quantum
unaliving. It's tied to the many Worlds

(39:10):
interpretation of quantum mechanics, which suggests that
every decision we make creates Abranching timeline.
Some theorists believe that timeslips can occur when these
timelines briefly overlap or collide.
Now, I'm no physicist, but Rach, this sounds like the kind of
thing that makes you sit up in bed at 3:00 AM and rethink your
life's choices, right? Many people report surviving

(39:33):
accidents in ways that seem impossible.
For example, a person walking away unscathed from a
devastating car crash might wonder if they narrowly
transitioned into a timeline where they survived while
another version perished. This is going to get crazy
because now we've got deja vu inthere.
And some suggest deja vu might reflect the subtle blending of

(39:56):
parallel realities, or the mind briefly recognizing its shift to
a similar timeline after a quantum event.
Well, this is speculative, of course.
It ties to the idea of multiple outcomes and overlapping
consciousness. You're the result of somebody
from another timeline that made a decision and now you're
experiencing that. And it seems so familiar because

(40:18):
you're the other product of the other you.
And I think I'm going to be up till 3:00 AM going on about it
now. There's a fictional concept
that's often used to explore quantum and mortality.
Imagine someone who survives countless attempts on their
life, and then each more improbable than the last.
Over time, they might begin to believe they truly are immortal,

(40:42):
but is it really immortality? Or are they merely transitioning
in their consciousness to universes where the attempt
always fails? This idea can spiral into moral
dilemmas. You know if survival's
guaranteed in some timelines, does it absolve risk in others?
You know, that has made me thinkof a story I heard a while ago.
And it was somebody who was moving furniture out of an

(41:04):
apartment and he fell with the furniture.
And then all of a sudden he was back upstairs moving the
furniture. And he was freaking out because
he's like, did I die? Did I die?
And all of a sudden it just shotme back.
There's a lot of stuff going on right now where they're saying
we're going through timeline jumps.

(41:25):
Oh hell yeah. And then we have that Schumann
resonance factor going on too, where there's just complete
blackouts in the graphs and the charts.
There's a lot to think about with this.
You even have the Mandela Effecttying in to the quantum
immortality, because this phenomenon has groups of people

(41:45):
remembering events differently than recorded history, and it's
all been connected to parallel universes.
Do you dream of parallel universes?
I do go to different planes. You have existence or?
I believe they're astral planes that I go to that are different
though. I am experiencing different
timelines. They are me, they are everybody

(42:08):
in my life. But the situations are
different. Wow, the scenery is different.
It's just another version. Wow.
So you know, I don't ever experience that.
I'm actually plunged either lower or higher into a place
that's very much different but mirrors Earth.
Some of the world's I've enteredhave had sepia toned to it.

(42:28):
Like I'm, yeah, I'm in like thislower underworld type of place
where people are depressed and zombie like and dark and I don't
belong there. Have you seen risk Cutters?
A love story. I have not.
That's a world kind of like thatwhere they can't physically
smile. It's like if you you know UN
alive yourself and then you end up in this whole other reality.

(42:52):
Oh. Yeah, it's a really good movie.
It's an indie movie. You'd like it.
Another explanation of all of this might involve magnetic
fields messing with our perception of time.
There's some evidence that certain areas of the world have
higher geomagnetic activity which could cause disturbances
in our brains temporal perception.

(43:14):
So maybe those areas act as hotspots for time slips, or
maybe it's just some other Earthplane tricks on us.
OK so I just had a really crazy experience and it's kind of
freaking me out. Basically the babysitter's like
4 1/2 miles down the street frommy job and there's a gas station
across the street from my job. So I always drop my kiddo off at

(43:37):
9:00 and I was getting gas and when I got done and I was ready
to leave, I looked at the clock in my car and it said 853.
And I thought well that's perfect because even though it's
only like 4 1/2 miles, it's 35 miles an hour almost the whole
way. Like depending on if you hit the
stoplight, it takes anywhere between 5:00 and 7:00 minutes to

(43:59):
get there. So essentially I would get there
exactly at 9:00, which I did. Now here's where the weird part
is. I went up there, dropped her
off, spent 5 to 10 minutes chatting, get back in the car
and the clock is still at 9:00. And I've been having some really
weird like time slip experienceson that four mile stretch of Rd.

(44:23):
for a couple weeks now, like glitch in the matrix, timeline
collapsing type stuff. But what happens to that 5 to 10
minutes? Where did it go?
And then as soon as I pulled away and everything it was like
I sat there for a whole 60 seconds waiting for it to turn
to 9 O1 because I was just like what the hell is going on?

(44:46):
And then it just was changing every 60 seconds like it was
supposed to and I feel like I'm losing my mind.
That clip comes from Sleep 5D Media, she says.
It's always along that same paththat that happened, so maybe
that does involve magnetic fields with her and her
perception of time. Yeah, like what are those
called? Ley lines.

(45:07):
We we actually watched that earlier on our Beyond files.
Yeah. Let's just take a moment to
acknowledge how awkward it wouldbe to have a time slip at the
wrong moment. Whoa.
So what do you think? Are time slips proof that time
isn't as linear as we've been taught?

(45:27):
Is it just our brains playing tricks on us?
Either way, it's clear that there's more to reality that
meets the eye. Thank you so much for joining us
