This is today's single Christian, and I'm Lina Abujamra. I
was at a Christian conference recently with 9000 other people
and never felt more alone or more single. It was
one of those moments that felt like the darkness was
closing in on me. Would my life ever change? Would
I ever feel like I belonged, particularly in the church?
I walked to my hotel room feeling despondent and did

the only thing I knew to do. I opened God's
word to Isaiah and this is what I found. I,
I am he who comforts you. Who are you that
you are afraid of? Man who dies, of the Son
of Man, who is made like grass and have forgotten
the Lord, your maker. Deep into my aching heart, God
had found a way to remind me that though man
may not care about me, and though I may feel insignificant,

the creator of heaven and earth, God Almighty, didn't just
know me, but had taken effort to comfort me. Do
you feel weighed down and alone today? Turn to the
Lord and His Word. His comfort is real for help.
