mom called to warn me. Hey, Lina. She said, did
you hear about the bus crash where 14 people died?
The guilty driver was texting and driving. I knew what
she was trying to say. Don't text and drive. I
rolled my eyes, but deep down, she'd hit a nerve
more often than I care to admit. I do things
I say I'd never do. Even after hearing the ramifications

of other people's bad decisions, I assume I'll be the
exception to the rule. Why is it that we think
we can get away with what everyone else gets caught for?
Whether it's texting and driving or indulging our eyes on
what we have no business seeing? Sooner or later, we
all know that continuing down a pattern of sin will
only lead to suffering. So before it's too late, heed
the warning. Turn around. Repent. Be humble enough to admit

that yes, sometimes we might text and drive, but we
can still promise, with God's help, to stop doing it.
