Kees Veldboer is de oprichter van Stichting Ambulance Wens. Hij was zelf 20 jaar lang ambulancechauffeur en richtte in 2007 de stichting op.
Met als doel: iedere terminale (bedlegerige) patiënt de aandacht te geven die hij of zij verdient, zodat de patiënt niet hoeft te overlijden zonder dat één laatste wens is gerealiseerd.
Want door het vervullen van zo’n wens -hoe groot of klein die ook is- kan er wellicht voor de patiënt zelf en diens omgeving weer een beetje licht komen in die laatste dagen.
Hoe is Kees op het idee gekomen? En wat motiveert hem om samen met 270 vrijwilligers de laatste wensen van terminale patiënten te vervullen?
Kees vertelt openhartig over het ontstaan van de stichting en hij deelt prachtige en soms zeer ontroerde ervaringen die hij de afgelopen jaren heeft opgedaan.
Kees Veldboer is op maandag 26 juli 2021 op 62-jarige leeftijd plotseling overleden aan de gevolgen van een hartstilstand. 💫
