Thomas Buru, well what can I say....I met Thomas in Singapore many years ago at the strangest dinner party I have ever attended. Thomas was at InterOil and I was attending the dinner with a longtime friend from QGC days Rob Milhouse. It was a hoot, this was followed up with a long lunch with his friend and mine, Brad Weir. I count myself very lucky to hear Thomas's story, to be called a friend, he is a true gem.

Thomas Nador joined Buru Energy in September 2022 as Chief Executive Officer. Mr Nador is a globally experienced oil and gas executive with over 25 years’ experience in various roles across the oil and gas value chain, mining and metals, pipelines and infrastructure developments.

Thomas has been involved in the development of major oil and gas resources from discovery to production, managed significant pre-  and post-merger integrations at an asset and corporate level, and has led large multidisciplinary and multicultural teams to deliver high value, complex and innovative programs of work.

Prior to joining Buru, Thomas held the position of Group Executive, Development with Beach Energy, accountable for delivering the Beach's development assets across Australia and New Zealand. He has held previous roles as Executive Vice President and Country Manager for InterOil Corporation in Papua New Guinea, as well as Development Manager, Project Interface Manager and Project Integration Manager for LNG projects at Woodside Energy.

Thomas holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of WA, a Post Graduate Diploma in Science from Curtin University of Technology and is a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
