(00:25):
stand alone.
Now let me be clear.
I don't mean lonely, I meansolitude, that sacred stillness
where you discover that you werenever truly alone, because the
infinite lives within you.
Now, if you've been avoidingthe quiet, or even if you've
been afraid of being by yourself, I want you to stay with me,
(00:51):
because in today's episode, I'llshow you how solitude can
become your greatest source ofclarity, peace and power.
So grab a pen and a pad and, ifyou're ready, let's begin.
Hello and welcome to anotherempowering episode of
Transformative Living Radio.
I'm Andre Flax, your host andcertified life and leadership
(01:13):
coach.
You know most of us were taughtthat being alone is something to
fear.
We equate solitude withabandonment.
We think if I'm by myself, something must be wrong.
But here's the truth Societyhas conditioned us to avoid the
silence.
That's why we reach for TV,scroll for social media or
(01:38):
surround ourselves with so muchnoise.
Yet all great breakthroughsbegin in solitude.
Think about it Moses went tothe mountain alone, jesus went
into the wilderness alone andBuddha sat under the bun high
tree alone.
Even modern inventors likeSteve Jobs spent long stretches
(02:02):
in solitude Dreaming, visioningand creating.
You see, being alone doesn'tweaken you.
Being alone prepares you.
Ernest Holmes, in his bookCreative Minds and Success,
taught us that solitude is theplace where our inner voice is
most clear.
Neville Goddard reminds us thatquote enter the silence and
(02:28):
assume the feeling of the wishfulfilled, end quote.
And Dr Joe Dispenza shows usthrough science that when we
step away from the noise, ourbrains rewire as itself,
allowing new neural pathways toform and new possibilities to
emerge.
It's like tuning a radio In anoisy room the static drowns out
(02:52):
the music, but in the quiet thesignal comes through strong and
clear.
Solitude is the quiet room ofyour soul.
So how do we actually practicesolitude in a world where it
never seems to stop buzzing?
So let me give you sixpractical but powerful
strategies to help you toembrace the silence Now.
(03:15):
The first strategy for embracingthe quiet is creating small
islands of quiet.
You see, solitude doesn't haveto mean booking a retreat in the
mountains.
It starts with carving outmicro moments of stillness
inside your normal life.
Think of it like placing tinyislands of quiet throughout your
(03:35):
day.
Maybe it's turning off theradio during your morning drive
to work and letting yourthoughts just breathe, or maybe
it's sipping your coffee withoutscrolling through your phone.
Let me give you a real-lifeexample of how this might work.
I had a client who used to wakeup in the morning, grab his
(03:56):
phone before his feet hit thefloor.
He was already in the noise by6.15 am.
During one of our coachingsessions, we switched one small
thing, and that was he gavehimself five minutes each
morning to sit on the edge ofthe bed, breathe and ask himself
this question what do I need?
Today, that one change became ahabit, and he said that those
(04:20):
five minutes each day began toshape the tone of his entire
week.
Strategy number two is tojournal your inner world.
You see, solitude becomespowerful when you don't just sit
in it but engage with it.
Journaling is one of thesimplest yet most powerful,
transformative ways to do this.
(04:40):
You see, it's not about writingbeautifully, it's about writing
honestly.
The page is where you can meetyourself without filters.
Let me give you another example.
Imagine finishing a stressfulday at work and instead of
venting on social media, youpull out your notebook and write
quote today I felt overwhelmedin the meeting.
(05:03):
That hurt, but I also noticedthat I kept quiet when I could
have spoken up.
The next time I want to find myvoice, end quote.
Now.
That simple reflection helpsyou to move from being stuck in
your feelings to understandingthem.
Over time, journaling will showpatterns.
You start to see where you leantoo much and where you've
(05:27):
already begun to stand tall.
Strategy number three is topractice text-free walks.
Now, there's something sacredabout walking without
distractions no earbuds, nopodcasts, no text, just you and
your footsteps.
Now these walks turn ordinarysidewalks or park paths into
(05:48):
places of listening.
You begin to notice the worlddifferently on these walks the
crunches of leaves, the rhythmof your breath, the way the sky
shifts colors.
But, more importantly, youbegin to notice yourself.
Strategy number four is to trythe mirror test.
Now, solitude is where you meetyourself honestly.
(06:11):
One powerful practice is toliterally face yourself in the
mirror, with no critique, butjust to connect, stand still,
look yourself in the eye and sayaffirmations out loud.
It will feel awkward at first, but stay with it.
The mirror becomes not a criticbut a witness.
(06:33):
Let me give you another example.
Imagine you're about to walkinto a job interview.
Your nerves are spiraling outof control.
You step into the restroom, youlook yourself in the mirror and
you say I'm prepared, I'mcapable and I bring value
wherever I go.
Now you leave that bathroom notwith arrogance, but with
(06:57):
groundness.
That's the power of the mirrorit reflects back not just your
face but the truth you choose tospeak.
Strategy number five is toembrace solo rituals.
Now let me explain.
You see, solitude deepens whenyou create rituals that belong
(07:17):
only to you.
These don't need to beelaborate.
They're small, repeatable actsthat tell your soul I matter.
It could be lighting a candlebefore journaling, brewing tea
in silence before bed, settingaside Sunday mornings for
reading, reflection or prayer.
You see, the ritual is lessabout what you do and more about
(07:39):
the consistency of meetingyourself there.
Let me give you an example ofwhat I mean by embracing solo
rituals.
I knew a woman who called herFriday nights date night with
herself, and every Friday nightshe would turn off her cell
phone, order her favoritetakeout and write letters to her
future self about the week.
(07:59):
Over time, this ritual becameher anchor, a way for her to
remind herself that she waswhole, even if she was alone.
Now, strategy number six is toredefine solitude as fuel and
not absence.
You see, the final practiceisn't about what you do, it's
how you see solitude.
(08:20):
Now, if you frame solitude asbeing alone, it feels empty, but
if you frame it as a time torecharge, listen and create, it
becomes very empowering.
I had a client that I wascoaching, who was an
entrepreneur who used to dreadlong flights.
He saw them as lonely stretchesof wasted hours.
(08:42):
So I challenged him to reframethose moments as solitude
sanctuaries.
And so he began to carry anotebook, began reading
spiritual books and sketchingnew ideas mid-flight.
Within a short period of time,he told me that flights became
his creative studio.
You see, the moment you seesolitude as fuel, the resistance
(09:06):
resolves.
Now, as we wrap up this episode, I want to leave you with this
thought Solitude isn't aboutescaping people, it's about
returning to yourself.
When you practice these smalleveryday rituals quiet islands,
journaling, tech-free walks, mirror work, solo rituals and
(09:26):
reframing you don't just findsilence, you find strength, and
that's when the whisper withinyou gets loud enough to guide
you.
