growth and fulfillment.
I'm Andre Flax, your host andcertified life and leadership
coach.
In our last episode, we talkedabout finding strength in
solitude, the power of beingable to stand alone.
Today, we're taking that ideaone step further, because
(00:25):
standing alone isn't just aboutsurviving silence.
It's about learning to trustthe power that already lives
inside you.
In today's episode, we want toexplore the idea of standing in
your own authority, trusting thepower from within.
Now, to be clear when I sayauthority, I don't mean
controlling others or barkingorders or chasing titles.
(00:48):
I mean the quiet strength thatcomes from alignment, from
knowing who you are, what youvalue and having the courage to
walk in it.
So if you've ever beensecond-guessing yourself,
waiting for validation orholding back because you were
worried about what others think,I want you to lean in, because
today I'm going to share withyou how to reclaim your
(01:09):
authority and start living in aplace of confidence, clarity and
power.
So grab a pen and a pad and ifyou're ready, let's begin.
Hello and welcome to anotherempowering episode of
Transformative Living Radio.
I'm Andre Flax, your host andcertified life and leadership
(01:32):
coach.
In today's episode, we want toexplore the idea of standing in
your own authority, the abilityto trust the power from within
you.
Now, when I say authority, Idon't mean controlling others or
barking orders or chasingtitles.
I mean the quiet strength thatcomes from alignment, from
(01:53):
knowing who you are and what youvalue, and then having the
courage to walk in it.
I want to start with thisquestion why do we struggle so
much to trust ourselves?
Most of us have been conditionedsince childhood to seek
approval.
Think about it when you werelittle or a child how often did
(02:14):
you hear raise your hand beforeyou speak, don't talk back or do
it this way, not that way.
Now, growing up, that type ofdiscipline and guidance was
necessary.
However, over time, we canstart to believe that everyone
else's voice is more importantthan our own.
I once had a client who said tome Andre, I just want someone
(02:37):
to tell me what to do, and Iunderstood that, because the
world teaches us to outsourceour authority.
We learn to measure ourselvesby the likes we get, by a
performance review and by theapplause we might seek, and when
those voices are silent, wetend to panic.
But here's the problem If youconstantly wait for outside
(03:00):
permission, you'll alwayshesitate, you'll always stall,
you'll always live at half power.
And let me tell you, there isno transformation in hesitation.
So what does it really mean tostand in your own authority?
Well, it means to stopoutsourcing your worth.
It means to stop waiting forthe world to co-sign what God
(03:24):
has already placed inside of you.
You see, authority is not aboutposition.
It's not about the size of yourpaycheck or even the title on
your business card.
Authority comes from alignment, when what you believe, what you
value and how you act are allpointed in the same direction.
(03:44):
That's when you walk in realauthority.
Think about it.
Every breakthrough in your ownlife, every single one of them,
started when you finally trustedyourself.
Maybe you applied for a job, left a relationship or started a
business, or simply said nomore.
You see, authority begins themoment you realize I don't need
(04:08):
permission to be me.
Let me give you an example.
Earlier in my career, I wasclimbing the corporate ladder at
a Fortune 100 company.
I had the sales awards, therecognition, the applause, but
deep down, I was tired of livingby someone else's definition of
success.
When I finally trusted my ownvision to step into coaching to
(04:31):
build something of my own thatwas authority, not arrogance,
not ego, but alignment.
So let me give you fourpractical strategies to help you
to begin to walk in your ownauthority, because I just don't
want you to be inspired, I wantyou to be equipped.
(04:52):
Strategy number one is to listento your inner voice.
You see, we live in a worldthat's full of noise,
notifications, opinions, 24-hourcommentary, but you see,
authority starts when we tuneinto our inner self, and that
means to create moments ofstillness.
It means to journal in themorning, or to take that walk
(05:14):
without your cell phone, orsimply to meditate, because in
that quiet your inner wisdombecomes clear.
Let me give you an example.
Sarah was a person who wouldwake up in the morning and
scroll through social media.
Her mind was filled witheverybody else's voices before
she even heard her own.
(05:36):
When she stopped and startedjournaling in the morning, her
confidence grew because shecould hear her inner voice again
.
Strategy number two is to makedecisions without over
explaining.
You see, authority shows up inthe way you make choices.
You don't need a panel ofpeople to approve every decision
(05:57):
.
Approve every decision.
Start small.
Decide what restaurant you wantto go to what classes you want
to take or what idea you want tolaunch, without having to wait
for everyone's opinion.
The more you practice this, themore natural it becomes.
Let me give you an example.
Think of how often you'veexplained a simple no with a
five-minute speech.
(06:18):
Standing in your own authoritysometimes means just saying no,
that doesn't work for me, andleaving it there.
Now, protecting your energywith boundaries is strategy
number three.
Standing in authority meansrecognizing that your time and
energy are valuable.
Boundaries aren't selfish,they're self-leadership.
(06:38):
Now, setting boundaries mightlook like saying no to a
draining conversation orlimiting how much access certain
people have to you.
You see, you can't pour intoyour calling if you're
constantly leaking energy onthings that don't serve you.
Now, strategy number four is toown your own story.
Now, this strategy is apowerful one.
(07:02):
You see, your story, everystruggle, every victory has
shaped you into the person youare today.
So stop hiding it, stopapologizing for it and start
owning it, because authorityisn't perfection, it's
authenticity, and people connectwith the real you far more than
they will connect with apolished mask.
(07:23):
Now, as we wrap up this episode, I want to leave you with this
thought Standing in your ownauthority isn't about dominating
others.
It's about mastering yourself.
It's about living aligned, confident and free.
So here's my challenge for youthis week Make one decision
based solely on your ownconviction.
(07:44):
Not fear, not comparison, notthe need for outside approval.
Just trust yourself.
And when you do, I want you tonotice how life responds.
Doors will start to open, confidence will begin to rise
and you will realize that theauthority was never out there.
It was always inside you.
