In today’s episode of Transmit Safety, Aimee is talking about putting your values into action outside of the workplace.

If you hold safety as a value, how is that impacting your decisions as a consumer outside of the workplace?

This is a topic I'm very passionate about. I hold safety as a value, safety for the environment, safety for the people, and that’s just so deeply integrated internal code of ethics, with my personal morals, and my personal values that it impacts the products that I am buying, who I want to work for and work with, as well as a lot of my decision-making.

I know that not everyone thinks about safety as I do, and that’s okay. However, this is something that many have never stopped to think about, and as Health & Safety professionals or practitioners and, most importantly, as humans, we should take it into consideration.

In this episode, you’ll learn:

  • The story of when I first realized not everybody thinks about safety as a value in the same way I do
  • Not all organizations need to hold safety as a value directly
  • The importance of paying attention to the supply chain and who really owns the company you’re buying from
  • You can make a difference if it’s in your financial power to do so
  • Put your values into action by being a more conscious consumer

The Transmit Safety Podcast is here to help health and safety practitioners achieve a holistic approach to workplace health and safety so they can become impactful leaders and put the value of safety into action.
