Julieta Fierro Gossman es una astrónoma y divulgadora científica mexicana. Es Investigadora del Instituto de Astronomía de la UNAM. En 2004 fue elegida miembro de a la Academia Mexicana de la Lengua, donde ocupa la Silla XXV, además es miembro del Sistema Nacional de Investigadores en su máximo nivel. La trayectoria de Julieta Fierro ha sido reconocida en innumerables ocasiones. Entre las distinciones que ha recibido se encuentran: Premio a la Divulgación de la Academia de Ciencias de Tercer Mundo (1992), Premio Kalinga de la UNESCO (1995), el Kumple Roberts de la Sociedad Astronómica del Pacífico (1998) y la Medalla Primo Rovis del Centro de Astrofísica de Trieste (1996).
