Betsabeé Romero es una reconocida artista plástica mexicana. Desde hace más de 15 años su trabajo se ha especializado en la elaboración de un discurso crítico acerca de temas como migración, mestizaje y movilidad, a través de la resemantización de símbolos y ritos cotidianos de la cultura del consumo global, como automóviles, tatuajes, señalética urbana, etc. De la misma manera, se ha interesado en abordar la problemática del arte público y el arte popular, su permanencia y relación con el tejido social y con público alternativos al arte contemporáneo.
