Jeremy Lux founded Illumine Collect in 2017 to raise money for nonprofits with an emphasis on community building and outdoor lifestyle.   To illuminate the stories behind the amazing people creating these organizations, the Life in Motion podcast was launched a year later.   Life in Motion Podcast   The two concepts really go hand in hand: the podcast to promote the concept and the many diverse causes out there, and Illumine to help raise funding for them, through the creation of custom-made apparel, such as tshirts and hoodies.   Along the way, Life in Motion has helped uncover all kinds of incredible stories and achievements, beyond even those of the nonprofits. Jeremy has interviewed over 100 people from around the world, each of whom have, in their own way, overcome personal challenges and obstacles, notched impressive achievements such as hiking the Appalachian Trail or rowing across the Atlantic, discovered meaning and purpose, and contributed to or often even created communities of their own.   Travel and, in particular, outdoor activities are a central theme to each conversation. Jeremy's guests are rock climbers, kayakers, cyclists of all types, people who embrace camping, hiking and just the general spirt and energy of being outdoors. This is a podcast you can take with you on your next adventure! Download a few episodes to your phone and away you go.   You can support Illumine and its activities by visiting their website, https://illuminecollect.com/, and checking out the apparel there. It typically changes every month as new partners take their turn, and there are lots of fun and witty selections.   We also chat about getting our kids involved in travels and adventures, and giving them the exposure to the outdoors from a young age. Many of Jeremy's guests juggle their adventurous lifestyle with home schooling, and making sure their kids are front and centre to the experience.   Life in Motion is full of positive people living bold, meaningful lives, a great podcast with an inspiring purpose.     Travel Podcast the World   https://www.travelpodcasttheworld.com https://twitter.com/TedFlyTed https://www.instagram.com/travel_podcast_theworld/     Action Advice   9:21 - On choosing audio versus video for his project. 11:07- Don't let perfection stand in your way, just start recording! 11:49 - Figuring out at the beginning the right frequency for publication of episodes. 12:12 - Deciding to switch to a weekly production schedule. 14:04 - Expanding to a team to produce the podcast, from editing to finding and scheduling guests, especially when the production rate doubles. 14:51 - On how even after 4 years, we continue to improve our process and efficiency in producing a podcast. 16:48 - Jeremy's marketing and promotion strategy, including the schedule for advertizing new episodes. 25:24 - How changing to a weekly format led to a noticeable uptick in traffic.     Guest Links   Life in Motion Podcast   Illumine Collect apparel   Illumine Collect on Twitter   on Facebook   on Instagram   Episode: Drop Everything and Go, Selling your house and car to live a life on the road   Episode: Got Your Six Coffee   Episode: A chat with professional baseball player Rolston Cash in Venezuela (1st episode)     Places   Springfield, Missouri   Ottawa River, Canada
