Wow, the triple Minnesota boy.

Speaker 3 (01:24):
We have not been all together since May, since we
went to.

Speaker 1 (01:29):
Flagstaff for Gia Woodstock yes.

Speaker 3 (01:32):
So it's great to be all together today.

Speaker 1 (01:36):
We really did miss you on that trip, Josh.

Speaker 3 (01:39):
Yes, and so that's what we're going to talk about.
We're going to talk about isFort Worth worth it?

Speaker 2 (01:45):
That's a great title.
Is Fort Worth it?
Exactly, I like it, I like itIs Fort Worth it.

Speaker 3 (01:50):
Oh, that's better, is Fort Worth it.

Speaker 2 (01:54):
So, Josh, will you start off with your delays?
Mate, you can start off withyour delays.
I'm going to guess Is it thefact that you didn't come?

Speaker 3 (02:06):
Well come.
Well, yeah, that is, that waslast week's delay, but I'm going
to project my delay into thefuture, or?
When this publishes it is theweek of going cashing which is a
big mega event in rome, georgia.
I've been in 2018.
I had such hopes to be able togo this year, but it's just not
in the cards.
So I will not be attending.
Going cash the final, the lastgoing cashing ever yeah and

(02:32):
craig.
Craig is going.
Yeah, that's.
He's gonna have a great timethat's actually my upgrade.

Speaker 2 (02:37):
To be honest with you , that I'm going, not that I'm
going without you, just that I'mgoing oh okay, yeah, yeah.
So there you go josh.

Speaker 1 (02:43):
How many of those have did you go to?

Speaker 3 (02:45):
I've only been to one , just the one.
I've only 2018.
It was a pirate theme.
It was really cool, I rememberit's it's just like one big
ongoing story, like they do sucha good job of like telling the
story and it and it and it all.
Like you, you find caches andthen you get clues, and then

(03:06):
it's like, step by step, everyday it's a it's.
You're getting closer andcloser to the final thing, which
is an escape room.
They create an escape room atthe end of it and use all the
information that you've gainedfor the whole week based on
geocaching and getting clues, and they have these cash cards
with that have clues on them andthen, yeah, it's, it's really

(03:27):
cool, it's, it's one of the mostwell done geocaching events
I've ever been to yeah, I didsee that video, josh as well.

Speaker 2 (03:35):
You led the way because they have a street
parade as well and you led.
You led the street parade, as,uh, the goonies are the guys.
How do you say?

Speaker 3 (03:43):
it.

Speaker 2 (03:44):
Hey, you guys yes, they're the one I was sloth.
I was sloth from Goonies, yeah, because that was a pirate
themed.
This year they got detectivesDetectives is their main theme,
and the old school detectives aswell.
And Josh, see, I'm a formerpolice officer and I didn't want
to go like you know, I'm usedto that sort of stuff, so I've

(04:04):
got myself an outfit, but it'sthe old black and white striped
convict outfit that I'll bewearing, so I'll be on as a
convict this time, instead ofthe detective From Australia,
the convict Exactly right fromdown under.

Speaker 3 (04:17):
That's appropriate.
I love that.
So, yeah, that's my delay.
So what's your upgrade?
Apparently your upgrade.
So I guess we don't have totalk about your upgrade any
further, unless you want to.

Speaker 2 (04:33):
No, but that's my upgrade.
All my upgrade was the factthat I'm still on the road and
I'm heading on my way to Rome,Georgia, for going caching.
That's exactly my upgrade.
So what's your upgrade then?
Josh?

Speaker 3 (04:45):
So my upgrade is actually in the past, so you all
know.
I probably talked about it inthis podcast many times my
favorite movie of all time.
Back to the Future.
What do I also love to do otherthan geocaching?
What's my other hobby?
I love going to live theater.
So, after a four-year wait, Ifinally went to back to the

(05:08):
future, the musical oh wow lastweekend, and it was amazing.
It was everything I hoped anddreamed for.

Speaker 2 (05:16):
Yes, new york city.
Was it still in new york city?

Speaker 3 (05:19):
no, it was in minneapolis.
I went to the touring thetouring group touring now.

Speaker 2 (05:23):
I didn't know that.
Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 3 (05:24):
Yeah, but I mean this is a touring, I mean it's
Broadway level touring group,you know.
So, um, and yeah, it was justoh, guys, it was so amazing.
I was considering when it,first't know, never worked out.
And then I was on theirInstagram profile four years ago

(05:47):
and I'm like please, please, please, bring it to Broadway.
And what did they do?
They brought it to Broadway andI was literally Googling
flights and as I was Googlingflights and thinking about how
much it would cost to go, I waslike you know what, for the
amount of money I'm willing topay to go to broadway to back
the future of the musical, I'mwondering, you know when it's

(06:09):
touring and you know what, whenit does come here, I could get
front row and guess what, guysyou?
got front row I was in thesecond row and tim knows the
orpheum theater.
It's one of our largesttheaters.

Speaker 2 (06:22):
And it's gorgeous, it's huge and I was in the
second row.

Speaker 3 (06:26):
And when I tell you, when that DeLorean came, there
was a flashlight and it skiddedout of nowhere from real-time
travel.
It looked so real guys.

Speaker 1 (06:37):
This is what I was going to ask Did they have a
full, actual DeLorean on?

Speaker 3 (06:40):
the stage.
Yes, and they drove it aroundand they made it look like it
was driving.
And you guys?
This has nothing to do withtravel, except time travel.
Time travel yeah.
Time travel, that's okay, so itdoes fit.
That was my highlight.
That was nice.
It was four years in the making.

Speaker 1 (07:01):
And you took your lovely wife to that.
Correct I did.

Speaker 3 (07:03):
And my brother.
My brother drove up here fromIowa to see it with me because
he loves Back to the Future, 2.
Yep.

Speaker 2 (07:09):
What about you, tim?
I want to know, tim, what'syour delay or upgrade?
Which one do you want to startwith first?

Speaker 1 (07:17):
Well, Craig, I'm going to go with delay.
I'm going to go with delayfirst, and it's one that you're
um our recent trip to fort worth, which we will be talking about
in a minute yeah, is it worthit?
Was not.
That's not my, that's not my,that's not my.
Delay um the delay was thehorrible hotel we stayed in oh
yeah are we already segwayinginto the topic?

(07:39):
It's just my hey you.
You put me on the spot for anupgrade in the delay.

Speaker 3 (07:45):
Here they are you don't want to know, tim, why the
hotel was so bad?
Do you want to know really?

Speaker 1 (07:52):
I think I didn't book it there you go if you'd have
been there, we would have beenin an airbnb and we would have
been fine I like, yeah, when weyou know, people have heard,
when we travel together, everybody has their role,
everybody, everybody has theirthing.

Speaker 3 (08:06):
I take joy in finding the accommodations, usually in
Airbnb.

Speaker 1 (08:11):
This one had some construction going on.
The front desk was literally atable in the hallway.
Wow, like a card table.
Yeah, like no lobby, no lobbyat all.
Yikes, no hot water, like thewhole time we were there.
Um, thankfully it was texasheat and we were okay.

Speaker 3 (08:33):
but anyway that is my delay?
Yeah, craig told me was therewater coming from the ceiling in
my rooms?

Speaker 2 (08:39):
yeah, I got moved twice and both my rooms
themselves had water coming outfrom the ceiling fan inside the
bathroom, so there's like twoshower heads inside the bathroom
.

Speaker 1 (08:50):
Actually, I didn't have that problem.
Yeah, no, but it was a jankyroom and thankfully it was only
two nights that we put up withit.

Speaker 2 (08:59):
But Tim, tim, tim, we did have hair dryers, mate, we
did actually have hair dryers.

Speaker 1 (09:04):
It's right on the back of the door hanging in a
bag.
I never touched it.

Speaker 2 (09:07):
No, neither did I, because you and I are both sort
of not required, but anyway, sothere you go.

Speaker 1 (09:13):
Well, you're going to want my upgrade now.
Yeah, yeah, also probably notrelated to travel, but I'm just
going to give you an upgrade inmy own personal life.

Speaker 2 (09:25):
I got to hang out with my grandson charlie a lot
this week and uh, that's that's.

Speaker 1 (09:28):
It's just one of the joys of my life to be able to be
a grandfather and hang out withhim, and you know he calls me
papa and uh, and then you knowwe went to the park and we did
all kinds of fun stuff, so it'sjust a joy to watch him develop
and change, and how old is hehow old is he now?

Speaker 3 (09:45):
Oh wow.

Speaker 1 (09:46):
Just the same question.
He'll hit two years next month,oh gosh.

Speaker 2 (09:51):
And Tim?
I know the answer to this, buttell the listeners as well that
Tim's got a YouTube channel.
By the way, it's Minnesota.
Boy is his name.
Links are in the description.
What's his favorite pastime?
What's Charlie's favoritepastime in regards to watching
something or someone ontelevision?

Speaker 1 (10:07):
Yeah, he loves watching my videos, of course,
because I'm in them and so hewatches for that.
He's come to know Courtneybecause she's been in a lot of
my videos, so he met her inperson and recognized her, I
think.
But anyway, he really loveswatching garbage truck videos.

Speaker 2 (10:26):
Oh, well, kind of one of the same.
I suppose now I'm only jokingyeah, garbage truck videos.

Speaker 1 (10:33):
You know, just watching trucks go down the
street and pick up the cans andwhack them into the garbage
truck and I actually enjoywatching that in real life.

Speaker 3 (10:42):
Yeah, I like when that garbage truck comes by I do
go to the window because I dolove enjoy watching that I don't
know why.

Speaker 2 (10:47):
Yeah and it's true what they say it's true what
they say about owners and theirdogs, because goliath joins you
at that window as well, whenthere's, when there's a bunny
going past or a squirrel or agarbage truck.
So yeah, so it's the same.
Well, my delay my delay tim aswell should be actually yours
also.
So, speaking of travel, now, uh, I use road tripper app, uh to

(11:10):
to basically mark out all mytravels, especially this recent
road trip that I'm doing rightnow.
It's called road trip, right,it's a great app and, uh, you
know you show your points, thatyou want to stop at your points
of interest.
So I've been getting thingslike you know the cash across
america series.
You know very important andunique munsies as well, because
there's there's unique munsiesthat are out there, like there's
one munsy in every single state.

(11:31):
That's well, not every state, but only one type of dale and
barb road trip and munsy, forinstance, as well.
Well, going back I think it waseight, nine, ten years ago
munsy brought out this thingcalled the golden ticket, so it
was very much like a willy wonka, and so if you bought a
particular pack, you had achance, a very rare chance, and
there was initially it was 10golden tickets, but because it

(11:52):
was so popular, they ended updoing 20 golden tickets that
were spread out worldwide.
Well, there's one in fort worth, texas, and this is the second
time the second time that I'vebeen to fort worth and I forgot
about capping it because.
I was having so much fun withTim and eating barbecue,
drinking beers We'll get intoall that very soon.
And yeah, we'll get into allthat very soon, drinking beers,

(12:13):
having barbecue and I totallyforgot about it, and it wasn't
until.

Speaker 1 (12:16):
Tim, as you know, you didn't even mention it to me.

Speaker 2 (12:18):
I didn't until an hour and a half south.
I drove an hour and a halfsouth.
I drove an hour and a halfsouth and one of the hosts there
of the munzee events that werethere for as well, denali.
She reached out to me and saidoh, by the way, craig, did you
get that golden ticket, munzee?
I was like no, I almost turnedaround tim.

Speaker 1 (12:34):
I almost turned around, so there you go yeah,
yeah, yeah, I was at the airportby then, yes, you were craig,
yes, my.

Speaker 3 (12:42):
Do you remember when we got our golden ticket, one
together, though in Ohio?
Yes, in Ohio.

Speaker 2 (12:46):
Exactly, and the Buckeye State.
We were having the ice cream atthe same time, remember.

Speaker 3 (12:50):
Yeah, yeah, it was a little ice cream shop so we
didn't forget that time.

Speaker 2 (12:55):
No, I know.
Well, that was kind of randombecause we were already there as
well.
The ice cream shop for an aswell, or the other thing for the
pizza tour, remember?

Speaker 3 (13:11):
oh, that's right, yeah, see, so there for that.
So there you go, my delays andupgrades.
So are we going to get into thisshow into the actual
nitty-gritty or what?
Yes, so here's the deal.
I didn't go on this trip, no,you didn't.
But I have been to fort worthbefore, so I can chime in,
because geo woodstock was there.
Yes, I want to say like three, three years ago, I believe, yeah
, and so I've been there before,but I wasn't on this trip.
So I'm excited to hear aboutyour trip.

(13:32):
I'm going to be very, verycurious.
I'm going to ask you guysquestions of everything I missed
.
Try not to have too much fomo, but I have experienced some of
Fort Worth and yeah, and so I'lldo my very best to chime in.

Speaker 2 (13:48):
Very good mate, very good Craig we Craig.

Speaker 1 (13:50):
we do not feel bad for this man.
He keeps talking about FOMO,but he had just returned from
Europe.

Speaker 2 (13:57):
Yeah, and not just, not just Europe.
He went.
He went to Venice and thenGermany.
I'm like this, like this guy oh, I missed out on going to Fort
Worth to scan some QR codes onsome poles.
Instead, I go to Germany andVenice.

Speaker 3 (14:14):
I'm not complaining, guys.
I'm just saying that I missedhanging out with you guys.
You guys are more interesting, maybe, than you know, it's all
about the brotherhood.

Speaker 1 (14:26):
It's the brotherhood.
Anytime one of us is somewhereelse, the rest of us are sitting
at home just watching it happen.
This is true.

Speaker 2 (14:33):
It's happened to me when I've been at home and you
two, by yourselves, go for adrive up to Fargo and Gilby to
get cash, like that, and then,of course, you send me a
thousand photos to you know, rubit in.

Speaker 3 (14:49):
You caches like that.
And then, of course, you sendme a thousand photos to you know
, rub it in.
You know, it's okay, that'strue, realistically, the next
time we'll probably all traveltogether will be at the next
year with stocks next may, I'mguessing.

Speaker 2 (14:53):
Yeah, yeah, and that one there, people, if you don't
know, that's in, uh, in westvirginia, morgantown, west
virginia, and if you want anymore information, reach out to
me.
See my show, because I am anambassador for a geo woodstock
uh next year.

Speaker 3 (15:05):
So there you go and it's the hometown of don knots,
also known as barney fife.

Speaker 2 (15:12):
Oh never in the bad don't you have a video of you
being barney fife josh?

Speaker 3 (15:17):
oh yeah, I have a couple of videos all right,
there you go.

Speaker 2 (15:22):
So, josh, I did a road trip all the way across uh
from new jersey in my in mylittle four-wheel drive, and I
got there on the day before timflew in.
I hung out with uh his name iswheelan w helen, also known as
bob, and uh yeah, he's ageocache and muncie player.
We hung out at lunch there andhad some great lunch, uh, meals
itself and uh.

(15:43):
So that's what I did onThursday before Tim flew in on
the Friday.

Speaker 3 (15:47):
What did you have for lunch, oh?

Speaker 2 (15:50):
you just reminded me.
We went to a chicken place butthey supposedly had this hot
chicken dish and I haven'tspoken about this on any other
podcast.
This is the first time, becauseBob told me not to talk about
it, but anyway, I'm going totell him that Sorry.

Speaker 3 (16:06):
I don't know if bob I don't know if bob listens to
this podcast.

Speaker 2 (16:08):
He doesn't.
Actually, he asked me for thelinks anyway.
Um, so it's this chicken place, josh, and they had um, this,
this range in temperature, anything from from a year mild
to, uh, what was called?
It was called something else, Ican't think of the name of it
now.
Um, amf chicken, it's calledanyway.
Um, so that's what it was, andI said, I said oh, no, mild
thing.
So I like on me.

(16:28):
I don't like spices.
I can't eat hot food.
My mouth burns even with somepepper in it, for instance.
Right unbeknownst to me, here'sthis guy, who's a tall guy, you
know, you know, bob, he's quietguy, reserved guy.
Yeah, he said I'll have as hotas you can make it.
The guy I.
I looked at him with my openeyes.
I'm like what the guy said tohim?
Well, I have to get you to signa waiver.
A waiver, yeah, like there'sactually risks and dangers in

(16:53):
this.
Was he joking?
No, no, he was serious.
Oh, he was.
He came back out with an actualpiece of paper with a pen and
had to get Bob to sign his name.
That's so funny, yeah, yeah,yeah.

(17:14):
So Bob had these two chickentacos.
So I'm there, I could kind ofsmell it as they came out.
So I'm there just watching himand I said to him before asking
him, talking all about it, Isaid, okay, what happens to you
when you eat hot food?
He goes, kind of the worstthing that happens.
He goes.
I get a bit sweats andsometimes I get some runny nose.
I said do you taste the flavor?
He goes.
Oh yeah, the flavor is whatit's all about for me.
I'm like, okay, so this guydoesn't just do it just to be,
you know, macho.
Anyway, he's devouring thesetwo tacos in front of me whilst

(17:38):
we're both having a normalconversation like this.
Not one conversation like this, not one bit of sweat, not one
sniffle and he's looking at melike nothing, like it's nothing
like it's a piece of lettuce.
He didn't even have a drink,like.
You know what I mean like oh mygosh and he said.
He said no, that's not, that'snot.
Hot for me like this, is thatyeah, and they had to sign a
waiver for it.
There you go, and so amf yeahamf, amf.

Speaker 3 (18:02):
Have you guys ever seen the show hot, hot ones?
Have you ever seen that hotones?
No have you seen it too?

Speaker 2 (18:08):
I don't think so hot ones.

Speaker 3 (18:09):
It's basically like a guy that has a conversation
with celebrity and then theyslowly bring on hotter and
hotter.

Speaker 2 (18:17):
I've seen clips of that on youtube.

Speaker 3 (18:19):
Yeah, yeah if you ever get a chance, watch the
conan O'Brien episode and thefunny thing is them trying to
carry on a normal conversationwhile it just gets hotter and
hotter and it gets to a pointwhere they just can't take it
anymore and some of them justlose it.
And it sounds like Bob would dovery well on that show.

Speaker 2 (18:40):
He would do very, very well on that show.
But I had to research what AMFactually stands for.
Do know what it stands for.
Well, there's two versions.
There's a family friendlyversion, there's a not so family
friendly version.
I will say the family friendlyversion and that is adios.
My friend is the, uh, thefamily friendly version.

Speaker 1 (18:59):
So there you go.
You can work out the other one.
So there you go, I think we gotit.

Speaker 2 (19:03):
I couldn't believe it .
But yeah, he ate it all, not aproblem, didn't sweat.
I could not believe it.
Impressive.
So there you go.
So anyway, thank you, bob, forhanging out with me, and I will
send you this link, at least, bob, so you can listen to this
episode and hear your name beingbrought on this one too.
So there you go, yeah oh, hellooh josh is there he's gone

(19:34):
quiet

Speaker 3 (19:34):
there was an awkward pause there so craig, make sure
you know that.
You guys, you got to remember Iwas not on this trip, that's,
that's that's staying in.

Speaker 2 (19:44):
That's staying in.
What's, what do you want?
What do you want next, josh?
What would you like next?
Would you like to move intofriday?

Speaker 3 (19:49):
because yeah what happened next.

Speaker 1 (19:51):
So tim tim, tell us about your trip over well, I
arrive on friday, so I I flew infrom minneapolis um delta
airlines wonderful, treated mewell and, uh, you know, got my
rental cards.
I went with dollar.
You guys ever rent from dollarthat was a mistake yeah, it was
a mistake, pre-paid andeverything, and they still

(20:13):
didn't have my car Yikes.
So eventually I did get a car.
It took longer than it shouldhave, but I got a Toyota Camry,
which is not what I wanted torent, but Craig and I made do.
We scooted around town in thatthing.
Yeah, not bad.

Speaker 3 (20:31):
What kind of temperatures are we talking this
weekend?

Speaker 1 (20:34):
it's the kind where, when you get off the
air-conditioned plane and youeven just step into the jetway,
you know you just feel likeyou're gonna die.
It it was.
It was almost 100 degrees everyday, yeah that's a high 90 I
just do not.

Speaker 3 (20:49):
I do not have FOMO about that.
That's rough and you'reparticipating in activities that
are primarily outside, notcompletely other than indoor
eating moments.

Speaker 1 (21:02):
The host did a fairly good job at most of the events
of placing the Munzees we neededto find in the shaded areas.
Each one is under a tree ratherthan yes, out in the path which
was in the sun.

Speaker 3 (21:14):
So yeah, so the first munzee event was was it friday
night?
Friday night yeah, cool, andwhere was that?

Speaker 1 (21:20):
that one was that heim barbecue, heim barbecue.

Speaker 3 (21:23):
Oh okay, let's talk about that texas barbecue.
That's where it's at.
Oh yeah, let's go there oh,yeah, yeah.

Speaker 2 (21:30):
Well, heim BBQ, josh, basically, is it's halfway
between the chains and abackyard sort of style barbecue,
I think.
Personally, I personally had aplatter, but the platter itself
was a sampler.
I said to Tim we were talkingabout it and I said to Tim I'm
torn, I don't know what to get.

(21:50):
I didn't know whether to getthe brisket or the pork or
whatever, so I had the samplerand it was cheaper.
It was smaller portions, whichis fine for Texas and, yeah, for
me, though, the burnt ends werethe best, but they were pork
burnt ends, they weren't brisketburnt ends.
I've never had them before.
Oh, my word, they went.

(22:11):
They went down my throat afterswirling around in my tongue,
and the burnt, the barbecue, that that's oh, I've never
tasted anything like it in mylife.

Speaker 1 (22:21):
Just saying so yes, I went a little bit bigger.
I was hungry from traveling allday and, uh, I went with the
three meat plat platter, so Ihad sausages.
There was two big sausages,wonderful.
I had the turkey, which Ireally loved, and some pulled

(22:42):
pork.
And it was all wonderful, plusa couple of sides.

Speaker 3 (22:47):
So good.
Craig, in your sampler did youany like just straight up um
ribs falling off the, off thebone?
Yes, yeah, there was situationthere was.

Speaker 2 (22:58):
There was the pork burn ends, there was also the uh
pork ribs as well, um, and thenthere was some brisket on there
as well.
So that's the three of thesample that I had.
And I'm telling you, josh, itwas insanely good.
But, um, here's a tip foreveryone out there listening,
and that is if you're going to.
It was insanely good, buthere's a tip for everyone out
there listening, and that is ifyou're going to go to Texas of
any sort, try and look for thesmaller backyard barbecue-style

(23:20):
venues, and Tim and I and we'llget to this at the end of the
show, because Tim and I actuallythat was our last meal together
too was a backyard barbecueplace which surpassed,
absolutely surpassed, anybarbecue that I've had anywhere
in the world at any point intime, like it literally was.
Um, I went to, before timarrived, I went to a place
called hard eights and uh, hardeights is, uh, it's big, um, and

(23:45):
it looks, it looks, it looksapart, it looks like in a big
barn.
And you and you walk up andyou're in line, and you walk up
to the pit master who's standingthere in front of the big
barbecue and he asks you youknow how much, in terms of
weight, do you want of each bitof meat?
And so you go, oh, quarterpound of brisket, you know
whatever.
Quarter pound of sausage andwhatever.
And so it looks good, looks thepart, but the meat wasn't as on

(24:08):
par, because they serve so manycustomers and it's more of a
chain sort of style.
So, uh, yeah, there's the tipfor you people out there try, if
you're in texas, in fort worth, anywhere at all, try and look
up for a backyard style or afamily-owned business, barbecue
business, and that's whereyou're going to get the real
true texas barbecue.

(24:29):
So, but, yeah, I think tim canattest to that as well yeah,
this sounds delicious.

Speaker 3 (24:34):
If you're listening to this, your mouth is probably
watering because you're like, oh, that sounds good.
So you said this was the firstmunzee event.
Was the event?
Was the event all indoors oryou know a lot of times for the?
So for those of you that don'tplay munzee or know much about
it, like a lot of times atmunzee events, like a big part
of it is actually sometimes alittle different than geocaching

(24:54):
events.
Geocaching events can be very, very social, which is great.
Munzee events can be too, but alot of part of Munzee events is
that you're actually playingthe game as well.
Earning points.

Speaker 1 (25:03):
Yeah, this one, this one getting their food and
sitting around, you knowchit-chatting um, but they did
put out a trail of 50 physicalpins to go find.
So it kind of went down this uhtrail on both sides of a, a
water drainage thing, not reallya river but kind of a drainage
thing, you know texas typicaldrainage thing, um, and so we,

(25:27):
but we waited longer, we waitedkind of for the sun to start
going down because that walk wasa little more in the sun.
And people that had done itbefore eating had walked in the
sun and it was just, you know,100 degrees and hot, so we
waited for it to cool down justa little bit Smart.

Speaker 2 (25:45):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (25:46):
So kind of sticking also to Munzee because I wasn't
there and you know I do loveMunzee as well, sticking also to
munzee because I wasn't thereand you know I do love munzee as
well.
I've seen pictures, photos ofthe events and there was like I
saw somebody that had a reallywell done, like one sheet piece
of paper that was super colorful, that like just to kind of
describe the whole weekend, andlike the badges you can earn.
That was like really like thatwas better than I've ever ever

(26:09):
seen.

Speaker 2 (26:10):
Well, tell me a little bit about that like I can
attest to that, josh, because Ihaven't seen, because, as you
know, now too I've been to a lotof big Munzee events too,
whether it be Florida orCalifornia.
Even Minnesota have a bigMunzee event too, but this one
here they focused on what theycall challenge badges, and so
what they did was they had, Ithink, five or six actual
individual badges that if you, over the course of the weekend,

(26:33):
if you scan these particularitems, these particular monsies
so you have to scan like a cow, because you're in texas, you
have to scan something else, youhave to scan resellers, you
have to scan you know otherthings, other types of monsies
then you show your, uh, yourscanned items to the host and
then they give you a qr code forthe badge to scan, for that
badge.

Speaker 3 (26:51):
oh, that's good.
I love that we had something.
We've had something similarlike that in minnesota tim,
where we've had like punch cardsand stuff like that, but I was
just so impressed, I was just soimpressed.
How, how?
everything was just like laidout on one sheet so it's just
like instead of just like, instead of just like telling
people like, if you do this, this and this, this was like.
Here's a piece of paper, theseare your challenges for the

(27:12):
weekend.
And it kind of gave yousomething to shoot for and
reference, because I I I've beento events like that and I'm
always like, okay, what are wesupposed to do with this one?
You know exactly, and it wasjust like it was communicated so
well, but it wasn't just on asheet worked harder.

Speaker 2 (27:26):
I think craig worked harder on it than I did I think
you got, I think you ended upwith all of the icons all the
icons.
I got all.
I got all I missed.

Speaker 1 (27:33):
I missed a couple of them.

Speaker 2 (27:35):
You don't mess around , but uh but they, they, they
had these on on a4 pieces ofpaper for everyone like as a
handout as well.
But they also had the big oneup on the.
It wasn't one paper, the bigone, the big one was on like
like a malamine board that theyhad, and they had that at every
single event like a big hardposter board, um, like you see,
with the political boards at thefront of people's houses, that

(27:55):
sort of material, and uh, yeah, and so they had that at every
single event and they were, theyhad these big magnets that they
just posted up at every single,um, you know, rest area that
we're at.

Speaker 3 (28:05):
So yeah, they did a really good job.
And you know us three, we do goout to a lot of munzee events
all over the country and I justlove how like everybody takes
like pieces of other other areas, ideas, and like it just it
feels like in the world ofmunzee events are just getting
better and better becauseeverybody like borrows everybody
else's ideas and it's likeencouraged.

(28:26):
It's not you know, it's, it'sreally cool.
So we don't have to stick onmunzee too much.
But I I was just because Iwasn't there.

Speaker 1 (28:32):
No in relation to Munzee, though I mean it was
obvious by the people there thatit is creating travel.

Speaker 2 (28:38):
Oh yeah.

Speaker 1 (28:40):
Craig came from New Jersey.
I came from Minnesota.
There were two other peoplefrom Minnesota there, yes, and
there were people from southernTexas.

Speaker 3 (28:48):
There were people from.

Speaker 1 (28:48):
Florida.

Speaker 2 (28:49):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (28:49):
Florida From all over the country that went to Fort
Worth for these Munzee events.
So it really does create travel.

Speaker 3 (28:56):
Yeah, and that's the.
You know, that's the spirit ofthis podcast too.
It's just like we're.
We're location-based games,bring you.
So Friday night, sun is goingdown, it's cooling down, you
guys are scanning scanningMunzees, and not as sweaty.
But you guys are scanningMunzees and not as sweaty but
probably still sweaty yeah.
And did you guys do anythingafter that on Friday night?

(29:16):
Did you explore anything elsebeyond that, or were you just
tired?

Speaker 2 (29:19):
No, no, we went to another brewery.

Speaker 1 (29:22):
Yes, Craig and I.
Yeah, as you know, Josh, we endup in breweries.

Speaker 3 (29:26):
You me, craig.
Yeah, we end up in breweries, yeah, so tell us about.
What is it like?
What was it like?

Speaker 2 (29:32):
so it was called so it was called the.
Was it the old town brewery?
Uh, old, old brewery, tim, Ithink it was.
And basically we we said to afew of the others we said, look,
we're all going to a brewery,whatever.
There's a couple people there.
Oh sorry, we don't drink, noworries, all right, we'll see
you tomorrow.
And so it ended up being justtim and I, which was, you know,
actually know actually quitenice the.
Old Texas Brewing Company.

(29:53):
The Old Texas Brewing Company.
I knew it was old something.

Speaker 1 (29:56):
Two locations, one in Fort Worth and one in Austin.
I think the other one's inAustin.

Speaker 2 (30:00):
Oh, there you go, but there was one particular item
about this particular brewery.
So it looked like a normal barwhere you go in and there's a
big bar area.
They had some what do you callit like a live band there as
well playing too, which theywere really cool because they
were an old school band, likewith the big.
We've got one guy had a bigTexas hat on, like a huge Texas

(30:20):
white hat Old grizzled Texasguys playing blues.
Yep, it was great, but Tim, tim,I'm going to leave this to you
now, because you're a bigbrewery man yourself.
What did they have that you'venever seen before at any brewery
or drinking area?

Speaker 1 (30:36):
yeah, never seen this before in my life.
We sat down at the bar.
You could get a table as well, but we sat down at the bar, um,
and I, we, you know, quickly theguy came over, we ordered some
beers and then, you know, we'rechit-chatting and then I glanced
down and on the bar, there'sthis long running along the bar,

(30:56):
like halfway across the barfrom where you're sitting, is in
is ice.
Oh, it's like a, it's like alittle indented.
It's indented into the bar, soit's level with the bar, but
it's made of ice and it's aplace where you keep your glass
and it keeps it ice cold thewhole time you're drinking oh,

(31:17):
that's cool never, seen thatever and he told us the barman
told us as well, basically whatit is.

Speaker 2 (31:23):
You you know the ice um, the taps that that ice up.
It's the same sort of thing, same sort of concept.
And that is, it's a metal railthat ices up the condensation on
it.
So it's not actual ice.
They don't put ice in there Ofa night.
It melts and then itself-cleans.
It actually self-scrubs itselfclean and then ices up for the

(31:43):
next day brand new again andit's very smooth ice and your
glass sits there nicely.
And Tim can attest to this aswell.
Because I have you know me,josh, with my craft beers and
stuff as well.
My IPAs Sometimes the heavier.
If you're not a beer drinker,then you'll learn something.
Sometimes the heavier the beer, the smaller the pour they have

(32:04):
to have, and so they do it in acup.
That's very, or a glass Ishould say it's very much like a
bit of a wine glass sort ofstyle.
Um, so it's not actually like abeer glass style.
So I had those, so it didn'treally affect mine too much, but
because tim had the actual longlike schooner glass all the way
down sort of style.

Speaker 1 (32:22):
Yeah then you're in america, craig here.
Here in america we call thosepint glasses oh, pint glass,
sorry, sorry and uh, yeah, youyeah.
The kind of beer that you tendto drink is a higher in alcohol
content.
Yes, so they give you a smallerpour.
They don't give you the full, like 12 or 16 ounces.
You're gonna get eight ouncesprobably 10, 10 I go for a 10.

Speaker 3 (32:45):
Yeah, so did either of you guys get a flight so you
could check in as to as manybeers as possible on untapped.

Speaker 1 (32:54):
No, that night I did not.
I quite often do that.

Speaker 3 (32:57):
You are correct.
We've talked about this onprevious podcasts, but that's
the key.
Like, if you want to dountapped, which is basically a
location-based game for drinkingbeer, tracking, beer Tr,
drinking beer tracking, trackingbeer tracking where you've
drank beer.
Yes, yes, if you get the flight, then you can check into four

(33:19):
beers in one shot yeah, or fiveor six if they have a long
flight and and this particularapp in which we're talking about
also encourages the uh,different styles, uh, of
drinking.

Speaker 2 (33:30):
Um, you know, different beers to try rather
than just the one, because youget different badges for the
more you try.
Also the different locationstoo, because some, some
locations are like verifiedlocations, like you see on meta
and stuff as well, and uh, yeah, there's verified locations, you
get a separate badge just to gofor a different verified
location.
So, yeah, untapped, it's calleduntapped.

Speaker 3 (33:50):
Yes, and I was operating on a whole new level
last year when I went on myGermany trip, because every
night there was a geocachingevent and every night it was at
a beer garden and every night itwas at a different beer garden
in a different city drinkingbeer.
So it was just like this onelong 10-day beer tour it was
cool.
And so I got many badges on Unt.

Speaker 1 (34:13):
Untap, that's germany for you, yeah that was great
sorry.

Speaker 3 (34:16):
Sorry to go off topic , you know back back to fort
worth so that was the end of ourfriday night, josh.

Speaker 2 (34:25):
So that was the.

Speaker 3 (34:26):
And then you got up in the morning and what's the
first thing you did but dryingyourself off Craig from your
room leaking Cold shower, Coldshower, Cold shower.

Speaker 1 (34:37):
We met for breakfast in the conference room, slash
classroom Nice.
Because the regular breakfastarea was again gone, because it
was under construction Wow.
Yeah, I mean they did I have togive it to them.
They did provide basically theregular breakfast that they
would normally provide.

Speaker 2 (34:54):
Yeah, that's good, it was fine.

Speaker 1 (34:55):
Anyway.

Speaker 3 (34:56):
I'm really shocked.
We hustled off.
First of all, I'm shocked thatthis hotel was even open, like
why not just shut it down, fixeverything and then open it up
again?
They're certainly doubledipping.

Speaker 2 (35:12):
They did tell me, Josh, that it looks like it's
going to be this way until atleast the end of the year, so
construction was I mean we'repretty sure that corporate heard
from both of us.
Oh yes, we're talking becauseit's four floors, four floors of
actual rooms, so there's fourstories and on the fourth
they're doing the whole entirefourth, fourth floor, you see.
And so at one point there atthe front, in the parking lot

(35:33):
area itself, there's likeparking bays all blocked off
because there's a big cranethere with a box that's hanging
outside of the, the fourth level, like you can't even you have
to walk around it because it'sall roped off.
And yeah, so it was, it wasn't.
I hope it wasn't nice.

Speaker 3 (35:51):
I hope both of you get lots of points from the
loyalty program of this hotel.
I think we won't say the nameof this hotel on the podcast, in
case someday we want them tosponsor us.

Speaker 2 (36:05):
It's not normal.
It's not normal for this hotel.

Speaker 1 (36:07):
It's my favorite brand.
I always choose this brand, Iknow.

Speaker 3 (36:11):
I know.
I know what brand it is.
I've used this brand too.
I've had good experiences withfavorite brand.

Speaker 1 (36:12):
I always choose this brand.
I know, I know, I know whatbrand it is.

Speaker 3 (36:13):
I've used this brand too.
I've had good experiences withthis brand.

Speaker 2 (36:17):
Have you heard back in it yet, tim, from your?
I have not, neither have I.
I might have to follow up onthat tomorrow, but anyway, josh
had asked what did we do next?

Speaker 1 (36:27):
Sorry, squirrel.
What did we do next?
We hustled off across town toAnaheim, not Anaheim, arlington.

Speaker 2 (36:38):
Arlington yes.

Speaker 1 (36:39):
Oh yeah, which is kind of between Dallas and Fort
Worth, arlington, which is homeof the Speedway right Arlington
Speedway that doesn't soundright to me.

Speaker 3 (36:49):
Yeah, like NASCAR.

Speaker 1 (36:51):
Oh, okay, arlington.

Speaker 3 (36:51):
Speedway.
Yeah, because when they did it,so when they did Geo Woodstock
in that area, one of the eventsis that you could ride inside of
a NASCAR, like around the trackand go like 150 miles per hour
and ride with like a real driver.
So I think people can actuallytour the Arlington Speedway,
which is a NASCAR Okay, cool, ormaybe real driver.

Speaker 1 (37:11):
So I think people can actually tour the arlington
speedway, which is a nascar okayor or not, maybe not nascar,
but it's like a indycar anywaywhatever go ahead seems like you
didn't, didn't make it there no, we didn't go to the racetrack,
we hustled off because, besidesmunzee, we also do geocaching,
which anyone that listens tothis podcast has also heard of

(37:31):
Probably.
We needed to go to this placebecause we needed to go find the
oldest geocache in Texas.

Speaker 3 (37:40):
Tombstone.

Speaker 1 (37:41):
It's called Tombstone .

Speaker 3 (37:43):
Yeah, I found it and it's also the oldest I believe
the oldest multi-cache in theworld.

Speaker 1 (37:50):
I think it is.
Yes, I have heard that Ihaven't guaranteed and looked it
up, but I believe it's, and thefunny thing is it's not really
when I did it.

Speaker 3 (37:57):
It's not a multi anymore really.
Oh, I mean it like, or did youhave to go to two different
locations?
Yeah, well, it's freedifferently.

Speaker 1 (38:06):
Yeah, this this this is the dispute.
This is the dispute and wedon't need to talk about it on
this podcast because it's notall about geocaching.
But I will have a video out,not tomorrow but next Friday,
about that geocache and you willhear the dispute that Craig and
I had about how many stages wasthis multicache?

Speaker 3 (38:25):
Yeah, it's very debatable because I have a video
about it too.
We can put it in the show notes, Like here's what I remember.
I remember like child graves.

Speaker 1 (38:38):
Did you?

Speaker 3 (38:38):
guys walk through that Like there was like toys,
like it was a graveyard ofchildren, creepy and sad.
And then I remember a fence.

Speaker 2 (38:47):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (38:48):
And then I remember bushwhacking and finding the
cash.

Speaker 2 (38:50):
Yeah, that's just yeah, that's still the same.

Speaker 1 (38:52):
Yeah, you, you miss kind of.
There's a first stage that'salso looks at a stone marker,
but it's out by the road.
Do you remember that one?
Yeah, I vaguely remember it,yeah, so that's.
It's kind of like a couple ofstops and then the final.
Yeah so you'll see that in myvideo.
A week from tomorrow, a weekfrom Friday there you go.
I don't know when this podcastcomes out.

Speaker 2 (39:13):
Next comes out Monday .
It's currently a Thursday.
Anyway.
So yeah, we had to do that one,Josh, because I'd never found
the oldest in Texas, let alonethe oldest multi in the world as
well.

Speaker 1 (39:25):
So that's always a bucket list, You've got to do
that, so we made time to driveover there and do it.

Speaker 2 (39:34):
It was a nice drive in the morning, no traffic on
the weekend, and then we madeour way back to the next Munzee
event.
At the same time, I will say,to add to that as well, and that
is, if you are a geocacher andyou're looking at doing, this,
doing it on a weekend.
It was good because of parkingissues.

Speaker 1 (39:48):
Otherwise, it is a college area.
Yeah, it's right in the middleof where a college is and uh,
it's, you know.
No place to park that's legalunless you have a pass.

Speaker 2 (39:59):
Exactly, but on the weekend it's okay, there you go,
and then after that Tim.

Speaker 3 (40:05):
Tell us a little bit about the next Munzee event.
Was it like at a park orsomething?

Speaker 2 (40:08):
It's up to you, Tim.
Go for it.
Was it at a park?

Speaker 3 (40:14):
Was it at a park.

Speaker 2 (40:15):
Was it at a park?
Yeah, this was the main event.

Speaker 1 (40:22):
So they had the main event on a Saturday morning at
11 am.
It was called.

Speaker 2 (40:23):
Trinity Park, right, trinity Park.
And I will say let's go onabout Trinity Park and that is
Trinity Park.
I didn't realize.
But if anyone thinks of CentralPark, new York, this is the
Central Park of Fort Worth.

Speaker 1 (40:37):
It is a long beautiful river.

Speaker 2 (40:39):
It is big josh.
They even have miniature trainsthat you can ride from one end
of the park to the other onthese miniature trains.
Beautiful miniature trains.
Um, they have like the thebridge going over the top and
this is where they.
I come in with, uh, murals, sowe talk about like artwork of a
city, etc.
This is where there was muralsall painted underneath the

(41:00):
actual big the bridge, the carbridge that goes across, on the
arches and stuff as well.
So there's beautiful murals onthat as well.
So it was a really nice.
It's good enough in terms oftree coverage as well for shade.
You know, the upkeep on theshelters were really really nice
as well.
There's no graffiti, none ofthat sort of stuff too.
So I was there, as I saidbefore, with Bob a couple of

(41:23):
days beforehand and there wasmaintenance people there
checking to make sure becausethey'd booked the reservation
area of the shelter, and sothere was maintenance people
there checking that they hadpower to the shelter still.
You see, and making sure thateverything was working in
working order, which is reallycool.
So, yeah, that was the mainevent.
Now, like any Munzee main event, they did have a game.

(41:46):
Tim, you got to roll.
What do we do?
I did.
What do we do for this game?

Speaker 1 (41:52):
I got picked to roll.
They had these dice, but notlike dice, like regular dice
that you would see, like bigsoftball sized um dice that look
like you know, look multiplenumbers on them, like you would
use if you were playing d and d,for instance yeah, I saw the
video.

Speaker 3 (42:09):
I was like, wow, these are really large nerdy
dice.

Speaker 1 (42:12):
Yeah, very large nerdy dice and um what you do is
you roll those dice, you get anumber on each of them and, uh,
if you you got to choose whichnumber you wanted to use.
So say, you got a seven on one,a ten on the other just say
seven and then one of the hostswould pull off this magnetic
board that they had put up, uh,a little card, and with the

(42:33):
number seven on it they had, youknow, like one through 14 or
whatever it was on there, and,um, then you would get whatever
it was inside that card.

Speaker 3 (42:42):
How were you chosen to roll Like?
How did they pick those?

Speaker 1 (42:46):
Random draw through.
If you were just attending theevent, you got to put in a tag
and then I think if you didother things, you could also get
more draws.
If you I don't know if craig, Idon't know if you did those
things you put more tags in thanI did yeah, and I didn't get to
roll, just saying so.

Speaker 2 (43:07):
I can guarantee if josh was there he wouldn't got
to roll because the things theywere giving away the things they
were yeah, the things they weregiving away were game pieces
for the game you know virtualgame pieces for the most part.

Speaker 1 (43:18):
I forget which one I won.

Speaker 2 (43:21):
You won a condo.

Speaker 1 (43:22):
A condo.
That's right, Do you?

Speaker 3 (43:25):
remember, Tim, the last time that we did games
together at a Munzee event.
Yeah, do you see that video,Craig?
I don't recall it.
It was like this spray game itwas like a tournament it was a
tournament and it came down tome and Tim to the finals yeah,

(43:49):
you gotta put that in the shownotes so that's another thing.
That's another thing that Ithink people need to know about.
Munzee is like it's not justabout scanning QR codes, it's
not just about points like theyactually have like interactive
games as a part of it, as a partof these events.
It just kind of brings I don'tknow.
It just adds to the fun exactly, and it's love that.

Speaker 1 (44:10):
Yeah, munzee, munzee, though, you are looking at your
phone a lot playing the gameit's still a very social game.

Speaker 2 (44:17):
Yeah, yes, yeah, I've always said as well, um, as a
tutorial, if you want a betterword for a brand new player, a
Munzee player, if you're goingto your very first event, it's
okay to look at your phone andplay while you're talking, you
can do two things at oncebecause everyone does.
No one really sits there.
It's not rude.

(44:37):
It's not rude.
No, not at all.
It's a different feeling, youknow, because you see it on all
the time.
I mean, there's people outthere, parents out there, we've
got kids and you're alwayssaying them get off your phone
and like, eat dinner like aregular person, not at a munzee
event.
At a munzee event, you'reallowed.

Speaker 3 (44:52):
You're allowed to sit there with your head in the
phone, but still talk, stilltalk and still listen yeah, you
don't have to look anybody inthe eye.
So it's like this perfect, likeI want to hang out with people,
but I'm I'm a little bitanxious, socially anxious, so I
don't have to look at people inthe eye I can just look down,
but I can still talk so it'skind of like this in between
yeah, that's perfect, I I really.

Speaker 1 (45:13):
I really like it so, but it was yeah, it was a
beautiful park to be in and eventhough it was like 97 degrees-
or something like that.
It really felt decent.
There was a breeze, a lot ofshade On the other end of the
park, kind of Craig, where weparked our car, remember there
was like a kid's splash pad areaover there we didn't go in
there.
We probably should have.

Speaker 3 (45:34):
So I'm looking at the photos of this park and you're
right, guys, like this is a parkI haven't visited before.
This is a real gem of FortWorth.
Oh yeah, if you're listening,if you searched Fort Worth in
your podcasting app and we cameup, if you enjoy the outdoors,
this is the place.
A lot of water I'm seeing likewith the water, I'm seeing like

(45:58):
waterfall features.
You guys mentioned this train, that goes through the thing.
Guys, oh my gosh, this makes methere's mini golf, there's a
mini golf course?
Yeah, they have everything.

Speaker 1 (46:11):
When we got there we did have a little bit of trouble
finding a place to park becausethey were setting up for A 5K
looked like it was just endingum, on one part of the park and
then on another part of the parkwe drove by, they had obviously
set up a bunch of stuff for anoktoberfest celebration oh, wow,
yeah, it's gonna be.
There was gonna be taking place, so yeah, a very busy place and

(46:32):
if you have kids.

Speaker 3 (46:34):
As a part of this park there's a.
I don't know if you guys walkedby it, but this is playground
area called dream park, did you?
Guys see that, yeah, we walkI'm looking at these pictures
and it's like these houses andthere's like these really long
slides and it's just called thedream park of fort worth.

Speaker 2 (46:49):
It's a it says, a real paradise for children and
their parents exactly, and it'sso anyway, this place is what a
great place to have an event andif you are a, a mobile gamer,
as we are as well, it is filledI'm talking filled to the brim
full of Munzees number one.
It's also filled to the brimwith Adventure Labs as well.
And then Josh and then I didn'tknow this until afterwards.

(47:10):
Roomba Cats, your good friendRoomba Cats, who we all know is
a prolific, incredible geocachehider.

Speaker 3 (47:21):
He's got filled full of gadget caches in there too.
What?

Speaker 2 (47:23):
didn't they?
Did you guys not see?

Speaker 3 (47:24):
them.
No, we did not do that.
We did not do any of them.

Speaker 2 (47:26):
We didn't do any we didn't do any caches, we didn't
do any adventure labs, we werejust literally all we could do
was munzee, because there's thatmuch to do so well, yeah, we
were playing munzee and you knowmaking youtube videos yeah, I
can relate, I can relate.

Speaker 3 (47:40):
And here's another thing it's like there's a really
cool view now it's, you know, fort worth is not like it's not
like a new york city right butyeah, it does have a skyline so
it's like you can kind of thepark is kind of like set back,
but then it's up against thefort worth skyline it's just
kind of it's beautiful yeah, yeah, no, it really is.

Speaker 2 (47:58):
So that's a definite must.
The trinity park is definitelya must attend for any reason at
all if you're in fort worth.

Speaker 3 (48:04):
So, yeah, definitely so so that that was the morning
event that was considered themain event.
Did that bleed over to anevening event or an afternoon
event in the same park?

Speaker 1 (48:15):
no, no, okay so so the evening event.

Speaker 2 (48:22):
Go, go, go, go, go go , it's all yours.

Speaker 1 (48:25):
The evening event was guess what?
At a brewery.

Speaker 2 (48:30):
Oh, you don't say.

Speaker 3 (48:33):
Now I'm getting to understand why you guys went to
this event and why you decidednot to invite me.

Speaker 1 (48:39):
But listen, you asked if the morning event and why
you decided not to invite me.
But listen, you asked if it.
You asked if the morning eventbled into the afternoon event
for craig, and I kind of didactually because, after the
morning event we were likewhere's the closest brewery?
Yeah and I just brought one upon my phone and then navigated
there in the car right.
I didn't know that that was thesame brewery, that the event
was gonna to happen later on.

(49:01):
So Craig and I kind of pre-dranka little bit, we pre-gamed.

Speaker 2 (49:05):
You pre-gamed, we pre-gamed, we pre-drank, but Tim
if you recall, we only had one, josh, because some of the
Munzee actual headquarterspeople live in Fort Worthxas
we're talking dylan who owns theif you play munzee, he's a flat
dhs.
We're talking, uh, his wifewiley, and she is flat.

(49:28):
Murray, and also matt, who is,uh, flat, flat matt.
So those three he doesn't workthere anymore, no, he doesn't,
but he still turned up and um,so those basically turned up for
the main event and so we gotthen invited to a separate
little location in between theevents for another, another cold
beverage, because you've got tokeep hydrated in this heat and

(49:49):
that sort of weather, you mustkeep hydrated.
So we met up with those three,uh, separately as well, and, uh,
but then went back again to the, the main event, uh, sorry, the
evening event.

Speaker 1 (49:59):
So you would have.
You would have liked it, josh.

Speaker 3 (50:01):
They were drinking miller lights yeah, they were I
yeah, I believe you know matt'smatt and uh dylan.
Uh, they're cool dudes I'vehung out with them before yeah,
and dylan, dylan does theartwork, most of all the artwork
for muncie no, no, he's.

Speaker 2 (50:17):
Which is just so good , he's a creative side.
He doesn't do the artwork.
Robbie does the artwork formunzee no, no, he's.
Which is just so good, he's acreative side.
He doesn't do the artwork.
Robbie does the artwork.
He, oh yeah, yeah, but he does.
But he dreams it, dreams it upand has the ideas come through.
So he's a creative director,okay, of munzee.
So, yeah, he does a brilliantjob.

Speaker 1 (50:31):
That's so that gathering craig.
I looked it up because I waslike what was the name of that
restaurant?
Because, like I said, uh, themunzee people were gracious
enough to like pay for ourdrinks and some food.
So I didn't have a receipt oranything from this place, but I
looked it up.
There was a place called littlewood rose.
That's right.

Speaker 2 (50:49):
That's right but it was really cool.
But here's a tip for you,because there's a big outdoor
area as well if you're going togo there, you can't go, you
can't get in.
And if you're under 21 even ifyou're in the outdoor area, not
drinking at all, you still thenthey don't allow only 21 and
over in any part of the eventwas it 18 or 21?
21.
21 for its drinking age, soit's 20 yeah um, yeah, but it

(51:12):
was a very cool.

Speaker 1 (51:13):
We sat outside on this very cool patio they have
like a whole like half afootball field size of fake
grass.

Speaker 3 (51:20):
Yes, I'm looking at pictures.

Speaker 1 (51:22):
Lots of seats and umbrellas to sit under outdoor
bars.
The end of that grassy area isjust the biggest TVs you've ever
seen and there were multiplefootball games on while we were
there.
Just a really, really niceplace to sit and the appetizers
we had were wonderful.

Speaker 3 (51:41):
I had a lot of it and it was very good so you guys,
you know if I was there, yeah, and I was um outside on the
patio of little wood, littlewood rose, yeah, fort worth.
Yeah, because I'm looking rightnow there's little wood rose in
several locations in te, by theway, but this is Little Wood
Rose, fort Worth, and you guyswere under the stars and you

(52:04):
know what I would have done.
The stars at night burn brightand bright, deep in the heart of
Texas.

Speaker 2 (52:13):
I didn't.
I feel for your wife and yourdog Josh.
They'll be like oh, he'srecording again.

Speaker 3 (52:23):
Did I totally spike out the microphone?

Speaker 2 (52:26):
I did pull away.
I didn't even look, to behonest with you, but I'll find
out in the edit.

Speaker 3 (52:30):
But anyway, so is that what you guys did?
Did you sing that?

Speaker 1 (52:35):
It was the middle of the day.
So it wasn't the night.

Speaker 3 (52:38):
No, this is in between.

Speaker 1 (52:40):
I guess it wouldn't have been appropriate no but it
was a gorgeous place to sitnonetheless exactly, there were
a bunch of guys that came inwith huge cowboy hats on.
Oh yeah, they were too, so yeahyeah they wear jeans in 95 heat
.

Speaker 2 (52:54):
They wear jeans, that's, that's a real man.

Speaker 3 (52:57):
That's a real man right there if I what.
The first time I went to texasI went to like um, it was a, it
was actually a munzee thing.
Um, it was in mckinney, texas, because that's where the munzee
headquarters was and they usedto have like they almost used to
have like a block party attheir offices and it was like
the theme was like texas, holdthem, or something like that.

(53:18):
Right, and I literally bought.
I bought one of those giant redfoam cowboy hats on Amazon and
I sent it to Texas.
I sent it like to their to afriend and I was wearing this
gigantic foam cowboy hat thewhole time.

Speaker 2 (53:36):
That's what I would have done, and you?

Speaker 3 (53:37):
guys probably would have been embarrassed of me, so
good thing you didn't invite meno, not at all, but we finished.

Speaker 2 (53:43):
You say not invited you say not invited I think you
were invited.

Speaker 1 (53:47):
You wait a minute nobody.

Speaker 3 (53:49):
Nobody talked to me about this event.
I'm not hurt, I'm justdisappointed.
Yeah, okay, no, I'm not angry,I'm just disappointed.

Speaker 1 (53:57):
Yeah, Okay no.

Speaker 3 (53:58):
I'm not angry, I'm just disappointed.
Oh geez.

Speaker 2 (54:02):
We finished off the night.
We're getting back on track now.
We finished off of going backto the, the original brewery,
and the brewery itself was.
It was a maple.
What was it called?
Maple branch?
Maple branch craft brewery.
And, Josh, it was ofOktoberfest as well, so they had
.
Lederhausen upon Lederhausenupon Lederhausen.
They had a live band thereplaying as well.

(54:23):
They had an outdoor area, anindoor area and yeah, it was.
Oh, I got a yeah.

Speaker 3 (54:30):
Was it night then?

Speaker 2 (54:34):
Were you under the stars.

Speaker 1 (54:35):
It got darker, yeah.

Speaker 3 (54:36):
By the time we left there, I think.

Speaker 2 (54:37):
Yeah, it was.

Speaker 3 (54:38):
So, at the end end.
It was like the stars at nightfor big and bright deep in the
heart of Texas.

Speaker 2 (54:47):
Yeah, it didn't spike out.

Speaker 3 (54:48):
Is that how it was?

Speaker 1 (54:49):
Yeah, that's exactly how it was, except for it was
Oktoberfest, so it was all in.

Speaker 2 (54:52):
German.
It's like you were there, Josh.

Speaker 3 (54:55):
The stars at night.

Speaker 2 (55:08):
Don don't get him started.
He knows he's german.
I'm sorry I can't.
Yeah, yeah, okay, um, no, sothey had, because, because it
was octoberfest, josh as well, they had steins of beer like the
big jugs, but but they didn'thave the, the little ice like
along the bar itself, so itdidn't really get cold.

Speaker 1 (55:20):
No, I did have an Oktoberfest beer of theirs that
they make there and it waswonderful.

Speaker 3 (55:26):
I loved it a lot.

Speaker 1 (55:27):
It's one of my favorite styles of beer, the
Oktoberfest style.

Speaker 3 (55:31):
I love a good Oktoberfest.
Do they have the thing atOktoberfest?
They have the thing where youhold out.
They have contests where youhave to hold the stein out.
They did one for men and theydid one for women.

Speaker 1 (55:42):
I think the men, the guy that won held it out for
like four and a half minutes.

Speaker 2 (55:47):
I was going to say it was minutes.
It was a massive, massive, thing of beer Stein, of beer Big
Stein of beer.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 3 (55:55):
Yeah, that's cool, I like that.

Speaker 2 (55:57):
Yeah, so yeah yeah, that's cool.

Speaker 3 (56:01):
Yeah, I like that.
Yeah, so, yeah, so that wasthat was.
That was the evening.

Speaker 2 (56:03):
That was not a munzee , that was just.
You were still thirsty, yeah, but no, that wasn't even no, it
was an event.

Speaker 3 (56:05):
That was.
Oh, it was.

Speaker 2 (56:06):
Yeah, it was, it was an event and we did another walk
around the town there to domore physical munzees yeah, yeah
, wow, so you have one or twobees and then when you start to
feel a little buzzed and you gofor a walk around the town to to
get yourself back to normalagain and then going for more
beers.

Speaker 3 (56:24):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (56:25):
It sounds like you guys were really thirsty.
I don't know if Craig wants toreveal how many beers he drank,
but I had.
I think I only had two becauseI was, of course, driving.

Speaker 2 (56:43):
Well, I don't.

Speaker 1 (56:43):
I don't recall, because Tim kept on going to the
bar and using my tab that I hadopen.
Yeah, I switched to Coca-Colaafter two beers, but yeah, craig
tried a good part of the menu.

Speaker 2 (56:50):
Well, yeah, but, josh , my downfall is that, you know,
I think, because I was too busytalking and mingling.
I was talking to Dylan andWiley and other event people who
were there as well.

Speaker 3 (57:04):
I didn't log all the beers themselves in untapped.
There's just too much to do.
There is, and I like to besocial.

Speaker 2 (57:09):
If I'm there by myself, oh, I'm an untapped king
.
I do the photos, I do thereview, I do everything.
But if I'm there with people,if I can't quickly do it on
untapped, then I don't do it,because I want to socialize more
.

Speaker 3 (57:20):
I'm that sort of person, so there yeah, yeah, so
you said, dylan and Wiley andMatt were there as that one as
well.

Speaker 2 (57:28):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (57:34):
Did you sense that they had been there before, like
that they knew about this placeBecause did they live in Fort
Worth or I believe so or closeclose to fort worth yeah, I'm
not sure how close they live, but I think they had been there
before you know, I'm reallythinking like, since they were
there and like they were, youknow they're a part of the game.
I'm sure, like when they showedup they were just like super

(57:55):
proud of their town and you knowwhat.
That's a damn rare thing, thesedays.

Speaker 2 (57:59):
Did you know that?
I knew that was coming to him.
Did you?
Did you?

Speaker 1 (58:02):
yeah, it's, I could feel it.

Speaker 3 (58:04):
There you go, yeah, yeah, you're like you're like
where is he going with this?

Speaker 2 (58:08):
No, I, I you kind of we, we we get to know you, josh.

Speaker 3 (58:19):
We get to know the.
The we preempt we, they'relooking for it.
It's like where is Waldo?
They wait for it.

Speaker 2 (58:23):
Yeah, we have had mail before Josh, whereby you
didn't say it once on one of theepisodes.
Because you said it, you savedit for the patrons only show
yeah, yeah yeah, and we got fanmail for that.
Just saying, you know, weactually did get fan mail, josh
forgot it.

Speaker 1 (58:40):
So there you go.
Well, I don't know if they wereproud of it or not.
I don't know if they were proudof that brewery or not, but
they should have been, becauseit was a really, really cool
brewery to hang out in.
If you're traveling to FortWorth, make sure you stop by
Maple Branch Craft Brewery,definitely.

Speaker 3 (58:54):
I mean we're getting towards the end because we're
now.
This is Saturday night.
Sunday morning there wasprobably another event, probably
another event?
Yeah, but I'm going tointerject here because the
coolest thing when I visitedFort Worth, the coolest thing
was the stockyards.
Did you guys visit thestockyards?

Speaker 1 (59:09):
We did.

Speaker 3 (59:09):
Do you know what I'm talking about?

Speaker 1 (59:10):
Yes, we did Well, I know what stockyards are, and I
know Fort Worth is famous forthem.

Speaker 3 (59:14):
Yes, yeah, we did not visit there.

Speaker 1 (59:16):
No.

Speaker 3 (59:16):
Yeah, so the stockyards like this area.
It's how do I describe?
It's like a village of likelike kind of country, like I
don't know, but they actuallyhave like these big bulls with
the big horns.
They like walk down the streetand like this longhorn it's like
a thing, and then there's arodeo there yeah and when I went

(59:38):
I, when I went there, I went tothe rodeo in fort worth at the
stockyards and it was the mosttexas thing I've ever seen in my
life.
Yeah, it was wild.
We talked about it, craig wellyeah, what?

Speaker 2 (59:51):
this is why we missed you.

Speaker 1 (59:52):
We didn't, we didn't get a person to do all that for
us to say oh my gosh, I do yeah,I do think I mean craig and I
were focused on the gaming andthe making of our YouTube videos
, of course, but yeah, weprobably needed you there, josh,
to do the other social aspectsTo find the go-karts basically

(01:00:12):
yeah, exactly.

Speaker 3 (01:00:14):
To ride the bull.
Like guys we got to ride thebull Because there's bulls that
walk down the street.
But then this rodeo was justinsane.
Like the most insane thing Italked about it with you, craig,
when we were at Geo Woodstockon the stage was they let the
children just in the middle ofthe rodeo thing and then they

(01:00:35):
release these wild goats and thekids chase and try to grab onto
the goats and they're justbeing dragged by goats and then
if the kid catches the goat hegets to keep it.
I was like how is this?
Even legal.

Speaker 2 (01:00:46):
It's texas, it's texas, it's texas, exactly,
exactly anyway so.

Speaker 3 (01:00:52):
But here's the thing like, if you're visiting fort
worth, like the stockyards ispretty, like it's iconic.

Speaker 2 (01:00:58):
So next time, guys yeah, we'll, we'll go back,
we'll go back again.

Speaker 1 (01:01:01):
I was only there for like two and a half days.

Speaker 2 (01:01:03):
So yeah, really, the next, the next day was a.
It was the, the finale eventitself, josh.
It was another.
It was another park, a smallerpark this time, so it did have a
big lake in the middle with anice fountain, and, again, the
pins that they put out, you know, put a nice walk around the
park itself as well, and theyhad a really nice shelter area

(01:01:24):
there too.
So, yeah, it was.
It was actually again, it waslike a.
It was very a somber goodbyereally, wasn't it, tim?
It wasn't a, it was no, it waslike a oh, like an exhale of the
weekend.

Speaker 1 (01:01:35):
It felt like, yeah, it was um, it was a wonderful um
little event again, moresocializing, but lots of points
to be had if you're playingmunzee yeah and we did take a
nice walk around that park yeah,we did.

Speaker 2 (01:01:49):
We did again, concentrating on a bit more film
work as well and doing somevideo stuff too.

Speaker 3 (01:01:53):
So, exactly, exactly, but after that I love yeah well
, I'm just gonna say, on thesunday events for munzee I, I
love how relaxed they are.
Yes, you know so, especiallyfor us, like we're often.
We're like during the mainevents, we're always like
focusing on getting content andplaying the games, and then the
sunday events always just likeoh, let's just chill and have
coffee yeah, yeah, I don't knowI I really love, for some reason

(01:02:16):
I really love the sunday eventsyeah, yeah, no, exactly right.

Speaker 2 (01:02:19):
But then after that event, uh, tim and I, we had um
little bit of time free and wehad to grab some lunch, and this
, this is the location where wehad the best barbecue that I've
ever had in my entire life.
I'm trying to skim through theshow notes now to find what it
was called.
It was Brown's BackyardBarbecue Brown's Backyard

(01:02:41):
Barbecue.
Josh, you know you're in aright place for barbecue when,
um, you know and this not beingno political, no race involved,
whatever but when you're theonly two white guys that are
actually in a barbecue storeitself and they're all talking
with that real Texan accent andyou know very, very
African-American sort of slangthat they're using, you know

(01:03:03):
you're in the right place and wewere in the perfect spot for
barbecue.

Speaker 1 (01:03:08):
Yeah, again, it's not like we went out of our way to
try to look for lunch what's thebest place.
We just kind of Googled what'sthe closest Texas barbecue place
close to us, you know, and kindof avoiding the chains.
You know, like Craig mentionedearlier, kind of avoiding the
chain restaurants, but just thisone looked cool we got there
and, oh man, it was real I betyeah, I'm looking at a picture

(01:03:32):
right now.

Speaker 3 (01:03:32):
The front of it it's it's kind of a hole in the wall
smaller place, yeah but there'sa, there's.
The picture is in front of thisplace is a is a smoker yep in
front of the place, but it's ona trailer yeah, and it's like
they clearly, they clearly haulthis, this smoker around to
events probably.

Speaker 1 (01:03:49):
Oh yeah, so they probably cater I mean they
probably cater as well, and itwas clear when we walked in that
you know the locals were therebecause people come in and they
knew people by name.
Yep, so I mean it was.
It was clear that it's a verypopular place amongst the people
that live in that neighborhood, and we could see why because it
ended up being wonderful.

Speaker 3 (01:04:09):
So Google reviews, google reviews.
Can I just say this first yeah, yeah, yeah, brown's Backyard
Barbecue.
This is kind of almost unheardof guys.
Yeah, 4.8 stars Out of how manyWow On Google reviews and
that's 134 reviews.
Wow, that's like wow, 4.8,that's like, that's like top of
the top it was wonderful that'slike always so sweet in there

(01:04:31):
yeah, they were so sweet inthere.

Speaker 1 (01:04:33):
We're in line and craig and I are just looking at
you know, there's a woman that'scutting up different kinds of
meats as people walk up to herand say what they want.
And we're just like you know,we're just kind of our eyes are
big because we're, we don't wedon't know the process and we
don't know, and we don't know, like, what we're going to say,
because there's so many goodchoices.

Speaker 2 (01:04:49):
Right.

Speaker 1 (01:04:50):
So we're just, we're just kind of.
And then they got another guycomes out and he goes like, does
anybody want a rib to eat whilethey're waiting?

Speaker 3 (01:04:57):
Yeah, he wants to, like, hand out a rib to people
like, while you're waitingthat's oh god, that's awesome,
but anyway, I love this placeyeah, it was.

Speaker 1 (01:05:05):
It was wonderful I had brisket oh, yeah, yeah and
uh, the brisket and the and thepulled pork, I think, and then
the?
Um, it came with two sides andI I had this bean green bean
onion mixture, which was superdelicious but, the the side that
I really really loved thenumber one really, really loved

(01:05:26):
number one craig will agree themac and cheese.
Okay, so good, so creamy and alittle bit of peppery spice in
it, oh so good.

Speaker 2 (01:05:36):
I've never had mac and cheese like that before in
my entire life.
I'm gonna say right here, that's number one mac and cheese
I've ever tasted in my entirelife the, the, as you said, tim,
the creaminess, the cheesycreaminess of it as well.
But then, with this, a bit ofspice, a bit of peppery spice
through it, oh yeah, that just,I just brought it to the next
level.
So, and I had uh, josh, I had,I had baby back ribs.

(01:05:59):
I want my baby back, baby backthere.
So yeah, but.
But this is what I'm going tosay and this is where you know
you're in a, in a, I want mybaby back, baby back, baby back.
So yeah, but this is what I'mgoing to say and this is where
you know you're in a realfamily-owned restaurant.
Is that?
We sat outside because there'snowhere to sit inside.
So we sat outside on thislittle picnic table and again,
tim and I, you know sittingoutside, and you know a lot of
other locals around the area, the guy who owns the place, come

(01:06:29):
out and he goes oh, you guys, enjoy it.
We're like, yeah, oh, this isdelicious.
I can't believe this, and we'reso we're praising it.
He goes, don't get, don't goanywhere.
He came back out these twomassive bits of dessert cake one
was vanilla, one was raspberryand uh, and just gave us this
dessert cake as well and saidhere you go, guys, try this, as.
Oh, and those cakes were justdelicious.
I mean that raspberry one, tim,you must say you could almost

(01:06:50):
taste the raspberries off thevine.

Speaker 1 (01:06:52):
It was really, really delicious.
The vanilla was very good aswell, but the raspberry wow.

Speaker 3 (01:06:58):
You know, guys, that's one of my favorite things
about travel is when it's likethese, unplanned, and you happen
upon a place that's like thishidden gem, right, that you
wouldn't necessarily find orlike seek out, but you just like
you were close and you're likewhat's?
You're like, hey, siri, what'sthe closest barbecue restaurant?
And then you find this amazingplace yeah, I love I love, I

(01:07:19):
love stuff like that that's socool, and craig only sent me one
picture of the whole trip, andit was of that food.

Speaker 1 (01:07:27):
Yeah, we did not send a lot of photos, did we?

Speaker 3 (01:07:29):
You guys were clearly very busy.

Speaker 2 (01:07:31):
We're trying to be nice to you when we're using
your phone for Munzee.
You don't really use it for anyother purposes, including
taking photos or videos.
So really that's all you useyour phone for, because it does
run the battery down too quite abit.

Speaker 1 (01:07:44):
But that lunch it was so good, it was so good at that
barbecue place, and then theygave us that cake, which is so
good, and I was trying to holdback because the next thing I
have to do is drive to theairport and get on an airplane
and you don't want to be stuffedwhen you get on an airplane.

Speaker 2 (01:08:05):
With a belly full of food, especially barbecue food,
and then there's some dessert ontop as well.
So, especially especially ifyou don't have an aisle seat yes
, yeah, whereas myself I've got,I've got my uh, my fridge
inside my car.
So, of course, guess, what Ihad for dinner that night at my
rest stop was my leftover of mybaby back ribs.
Having them cold was just asgood, just as good as they were

(01:08:27):
coming off the uh, coming offthe actual barbecue itself.
So then you had cake for dessert.
Oh, I didn't.
I'll be honest, I didn't finishall of it.
I couldn't.
It was just too much, too muchso no, I didn't finish all of it
, yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:08:44):
Right after yeah, right after.
That meal is where Craig and Iparted ways.
I headed to the airport and hejumped back in his camper and
off he went.

Speaker 3 (01:08:49):
On the road again, exactly as Willie Nelson says,
which is appropriate becausehe's from Texas.

Speaker 1 (01:08:56):
Guys, I had been to just one note.
I've driven through that.
I've driven through Dallas many, many, many times and stopped
kind of in the Dallas area alittle bit but never been to the
Fort Worth side and it reallyis different.
The Fort Worth side feelsdifferent than the Dallas side
of that.

Speaker 3 (01:09:09):
Yes, it is very different.
It feels like a very differenttown.
I think yeah, Now that you'resaying that, I feel really I
should have had you, Craig, visit the Toilet Seat Museum.

Speaker 2 (01:09:23):
Oh, I forgot Just outside of Dallas.

Speaker 3 (01:09:26):
And went and found my toilet seat and bring it back
to me.

Speaker 2 (01:09:30):
See, shoot, because that was just outside of Dallas.

Speaker 3 (01:09:34):
You could have went on the way home.
Another reason, Josh.

Speaker 2 (01:09:36):
You should have been there Just saying.

Speaker 3 (01:09:38):
I know.

Speaker 2 (01:09:39):

Oh, josh, oh, I'm Josh.
I decided to go to Germany andVenice instead.

Speaker 3 (01:09:43):

Venice instead, it's more likeoh Josh, I decided to just be
sick all weekend at home.
