Speaker 1 (00:46):
On today's episode,
josh.
We went to Uranus together inMissouri.
We visited Fudge Factory.
We did so much there.
We played some Munze, we didsome geocaching.
You've got a video out as well.
The Munzees got a video out too.
So mate, mate, mate, thisepisode is all about.
You call it Uranus in yourvideo.
Speaker 2 (00:58):
Uranus yes, I
published my video today and
there were some people who werelike thank you so much.
Josh for pronouncing it thecorrect way.
Speaker 1 (01:06):
No, no, no, no, not
some people.
There was one.
There was one person and it wasBell on the Move.
I did read the comments, josh, there was more than one.
Speaker 2 (01:14):
There was more than
one, there was another one.
Speaker 1 (01:17):
There were two oh two
.
Speaker 2 (01:18):
Anyway, yes, I call
it the sophisticated way of
Uranus.
Welcome to Uranus.
Speaker 1 (01:25):
No, no, it's always
been Uranus.
Speaker 2 (01:27):
But not nearly as fun
.
No, even when we were in Uranus, when I said it, when we were
in the Sideshow Museum, the ladywas like kind of irritable with
me.
Speaker 1 (01:37):
She was like it's
Uranus.
Yes, exactly, and we're goingto talk about the reason why
it's actually Uranus as well.
Coming up Because you did someresearch, Josh.
You got some history about itas well.
Speaker 2 (01:48):
Yeah, and I asked
some of the locals and then I
wanted to confirm it and itactually was confirmed, wow.
Speaker 1 (01:57):
What the reason why
Uranus Missouri exists.
You actually had to try andpronounce it Uranus, because
you're so used to Uranus.
I even saw your mouth movedifferently.
Anyway, josh, in between thenand now, what have you been up?
Speaker 2 (02:08):
to mate.
What's your upgrades and delays?
Well, this week was a shortweek of work for me because I
went down to Bowling Green,kentucky.
Speaker 1 (02:15):
We've spoken about
Bowling Green before.
Speaker 2 (02:17):
I know Rhys had an
episode about Bowling Green
because that's where Rhys, myoldest, and my son, jonah, both
went to college and Jonahgraduated from Western Kentucky
University this week, so we wentdown there to celebrate.
Speaker 1 (02:31):
Congratulations,
jonah, mate.
Well done, well done.
I did see a couple of photos, josh, on your Instagram page as
well, so a big congratulationsto him.
But I will say this, jonah, ifyou're listening, because he
doesn't maybe not do a little.
Uh, you know, muscle off withyour younger brother, because
your younger brother has got youcovered big time.
So hayden is looking jackedmate, he's looking really yeah,
(02:52):
he is looking.
Speaker 2 (02:53):
Jacked really worked
out pretty strong yeah, yes, for
sure yeah he might go intoexercise science for college
that's really kind of cool, he'sgot a passion for building the
muscle so he's nothing like hisfather?
Speaker 1 (03:05):
if that's the case,
then because?
But anyway, uh, what's beenyour delays?
Any delays apart from that,then?
Delays sometimes it's too manyactually, yeah not too many
actually.
Speaker 2 (03:17):
Um, I don't have any,
I'm gonna say zero.
Oh, life is good wow, there yougo.
Speaker 1 (03:22):
Don't jinx it, though
, I know right, I know.
Anyway, meanwhile, josh, I'vebeen my upgrade.
I'm going to start with myupgrade first as well.
I went to Mingo Madness lastweekend.
Mingo Madness, was it mad?
Was it mad?
Not really.
There wasn't as many peoplethere as I was hoping for.
There really wasn't.
I mean, you think about it,though, josh.
There is the Mingo Madness is ablock party this last weekend.
(03:47):
This weekend coming up isanother block party, the ASP
Geobash as well in Western NewYork, and then the weekend after
that is the Big Giga.
So three weekends in a row, three big geocaching events in a
row as well, and I'll say, yeah, mingo Madness, it was an
upgrade for me.
I really did enjoy it.
I spent three or four days incolby in kansas, and I will say
(04:09):
that oddy, oddy olsen, I thinkhis name, is the geocacher.
There.
He places some really coolgadget caches and, josh, these
ones, these gadget caches, theystand the test of time as well.
Some of them have been therefive, six, seven, eight years
and they're not as still you,you know, the paint's faded, you
know what I mean, but theystill work really, really well,
(04:30):
you know, and I did a couple.
I took a leaf out of your book, josh.
I did a few TikToks and a fewshort videos and a few Instagram
reels as well.
Speaker 2 (04:38):
Yeah, a couple of
them that you featured I had
found last time I was there, last time they had Mingo Madness
five years ago, so I recognizesome of them.
And yeah, adi Olson, greathider, yes, and a lot of his
stuff is, yeah, stands the testof time.
So you got to love that Exactlyand shout out to Ryan Semel,
yes, who not only put this eventtogether, mingo Madness but a
(05:01):
couple weeks ago he put togetherMOGA.
So he he did two block partiesin the matter of two mega events
, slash block parties in thematter of just a month, which is
crazy.
Speaker 1 (05:16):
Yeah, absolutely
crazy, but he does a great job.
Ryan is a really good mate aswell, and if ever you see Ryan,
he gives out rugs.
I call them they're called Ryanhugs because he's such a big
guy he gives out the biggest, squeeziest hug you'll ever have
in your life.
So meanwhile, my delay would bethe fact is that I've actually
got to travel there, like I'vegot to travel from Colby Kansas
all the way East to the WesternNew York for ASB.
I've only got four, four, four, five days to do it.
(05:37):
So I'll be there this thisThursday.
As you listen to this, thisThursday I'm arriving in Western
New York for the ASP.
Geobash.
Josh, where are you parked?
Speaker 2 (05:47):
Where are you parked
right now?
Speaker 1 (05:49):
Right now is Sunday
night.
It's the night before this ispublished again.
It's a late one.
I am actually back in St Louis,so I'm on the outskirts of St
Louis, so I've made a couple ofgood inroads into the actual
trip.
I've got about, I'm gonna say,about 12, 12 hours to drive yet
in the next three days.
That's not too bad, not too bad, so nice.
I can do the four-hour trips.
They're easy, they're easy.
(06:10):
So that's nice, that's my wouldyou call it a delay, the fact
that I have to travel?
Speaker 2 (06:14):
I don't know, I don't
know, and it's a travel podcast
.
That's fun.
It's a pretty, a pretty high uhdelay yes, yeah, exactly.
Speaker 1 (06:24):
Well, at least I've
got.
I've given a delay, josh, I'mlike you, you can't even think
of one.
You know what I mean.
Like I had to think, I had tothink long and hard what is
actually my delay.
And I, I will say as well, likeI did, I did a three hour stint
today.
I did stop for for two caches, which is good.
Um, and that's what geocachingdoes as well it does.
It makes you stop to rest yourlegs, to to get out and walk
around and sort of refreshyourself as well.
(06:46):
Because when you're driving byyourself without sort of music
or without podcasts to listen to, you do start to get a little
bit dozy.
So rest, revive, survive.
There's my tip as well Rest, revive, survive.
That's a good one, that's agood one.
So, josh, are we going to moveon to Uranus, yes, or should we
on to Uranus?
Speaker 2 (07:05):
Yes, yeah.
Or should we talk about Uranus?
Speaker 1 (07:09):
Well, I think we'll
talk about let's just talk about
Uranus.
Speaker 2 (07:13):
Okay, let's just talk
about Uranus.
Speaker 1 (07:14):
Yeah, yeah, we'll
talk about Uranus.
Okay, no, yours.
What's the?
You want to do the backstoryfirst about Uranus, why it is
actually named Uranus, or do youwant to tell everyone else how
you came to Uranus?
Speaker 2 (07:27):
Well, I think we
should start with the backstory.
Speaker 1 (07:29):
Yeah, backstory first
, there is actually a little
area.
Speaker 2 (07:37):
I don't even think
it's a town, Craig.
It's an area.
It's an area.
It's an area called Uranus,Missouri, right outside of St
Roberts, Missouri, which Ibelieve there's a military base
there.
Speaker 1 (07:46):
There were a lot of
military people around, yeah,
there was.
Speaker 2 (07:49):
I did notice that,
and so this is the little area.
It's almost just like a littlerest stop outside of outside of
St Roberts, and the area isowned, or was owned, by a man
named Louis Keene.
Speaker 1 (08:04):
Louis.
Speaker 2 (08:05):
Louis, and in the
1990s and the early 2000s he had
some ownership of somegentlemen clubs with the ladies
in the polls.
Speaker 1 (08:18):
That's the one we
were talking about.
Those are the clubs.
Speaker 2 (08:20):
Yes, yes, yes yes,
right on Route 66.
And the city, the city of StRoberts, did not, did not like
that.
Speaker 1 (08:28):
No, they didn't want
to become the next Vegas sort of
thing, sort of style.
Speaker 2 (08:33):
Yes, so in response
to that Keene, he pivoted away
from adult clubs and leaned intohumor, novelty, suggestiveness,
without crossing over the lineof adult territory.
Speaker 1 (08:47):
Well, no, because
it's a teenage territory.
It's a teenage territory.
Yeah, that's true.
Speaker 2 (08:52):
Yes, and thus Uranus
was born.
Speaker 1 (08:58):
So is it an official
town called Uranus?
Is it actually officiallycalled Uranus a town?
No, no, it's literally hisblock of land that he owns.
He classes as Uranus.
He's put up the signs.
It's more like the.
It's one of those like really aroadside attraction for Route
66.
It really is.
It's become a real big roadsideattraction for it too.
Speaker 2 (09:18):
It was sort of his
response to the city officials
about his businesses that he wasowning.
So he decided to do something alittle bit more family friendly
technically family friendly.
Technically it is, there'snothing but the signage.
The signage, there was some not.
Speaker 1 (09:36):
So yeah, family
friendly signage there really
was and, uh, merchandise as well, like t-shirts and stickers and
magnets, etc.
As well.
So, um yeah, a lot of innuendo.
We found j Josh when we wentinside the building, inside the
fudge factory, becauseapparently they say the best
fudge is from Uranus.
So things like that we'retalking about is the innuendo
we're discussing, more so thananything else.
Speaker 2 (09:57):
It was pretty good
fudge.
Yeah, I tried it.
You guys bought some and I atesome.
It was good for fudge fromUranus.
Speaker 1 (10:04):
It was, it was, and
there was a different, very
different flavors of fudge too, from Uranus.
Oh yeah, so you know, we hadthe cookies and cream, we had
the salted caramel, like oh,that was good too.
Now, and here's another tip.
Josh, Did you like the fudgeout of the fridge or the fudge
from room temperature?
There's two differentconsistencies from them.
Speaker 2 (10:23):
Yeah, I like room
temperature.
Speaker 1 (10:24):
Yeah, you like the
smooth fuck out of Uranus.
Speaker 2 (10:27):
I like it a little
smoother.
Speaker 1 (10:29):
You don't like it too
hard and rocky.
Speaker 2 (10:31):
No, not too hard.
Not too hard, that's fair.
Speaker 1 (10:35):
We can't go there
already.
We're getting too deep inUranus already.
Speaker 2 (10:39):
Yeah, and I'll just
say this, as we continue on, and
I'll just say this, as wecontinue on, we're going to lean
in, we're going to lean intothe poop humor.
Speaker 1 (10:45):
Yes, yeah, not the
other kind of humor.
No, no, no, no.
Well, we'll do our best and seewhat happens from there.
We'll see what happens.
That's right, that's right.
Speaker 2 (10:54):
So here's the deal.
This was a last minute decisionfor me to join you and Rob in
Uranus because I had beenhearing for months and months on
the official Munzee podcast, which you were a co-host of,
about this event, and it justgot, craig.
It worked.
It just got burned into mybrain, yeah, and I was having
(11:15):
FOMO before I could even haveFOMO.
So I knew I needed to make itto Uranus or Uranus, and so I
booked a Sun Country, suncountry airlines not sponsored,
but sun country, if you'relistening a 138 round trip
flight.
What a 138 round trip flight,wow.
(11:36):
Sun country airlines to fromminneapolis to st louis.
So I couldn't, I couldn't turnthat up.
I had the weekend free and so Iwas like I got to have big fun
in Uranus, yes.
Speaker 1 (11:52):
Because that's
actually what the event was
called.
The event was called Big Fun inUranus.
Speaker 2 (11:54):
Yeah, yeah, and if
you have searched Uranus and
you're all wondering about itand our podcast came up, you
might be wondering what in theworld is Munzee?
What are they talking about?
Oh, yes, we were came up.
You might be wondering what inthe world is munzee what are
they talking about?
Speaker 1 (12:10):
oh yes, we were at a
munzee event.
Craig, you are a greatambassador for munzee.
Could you just give a littlebit of a?
I'm gonna sentence.
I'm gonna refer to joshua, thegeocaching vloggers uh, version
of munzee, and that is becauseeveryone knows pretty much.
They know geocaching andgeocaching is a location-based
game where you find hiddenthings in the, in the bushes, in
the, in car parks or whateverelse as well.
Everyone also knows Pokemon Go.
The Pokemon Go is very much theelectronic version of a
(12:30):
location-based game where youget little creatures on the
screen and, josh, you said thisyourself and it's being used now
prolifically throughout theMunzee world and that is
geocaching.
Pokemon Go.
They have a love child.
That love child is Munzee, sothat's how it was.
They have a love child thatlove child is Munzee, so that's
how it was.
So that's what Munzee basicallyis.
So, yeah, there's QR codestickers that you can go and
physical ones which you canactually cap or take a photo of,
(12:52):
basically through the app, orthere's a lot of virtual ones,
and the virtual ones Joshthey're virtual ones can be
placed from anyone all over theworld.
You don't have to actuallyphysically be there to place it.
So I had friends in australia, josh, placing virtual monsies
and cards and everything else aswell, all over the top of
(13:12):
uranus, so I hope you weren'ttoo, uh, you know, worried about
that.
Speaker 2 (13:13):
That was so nice of
them.
Yeah, to do that.
Yeah, yeah, I'm the one I thinkI'm the one that took that,
came up with that description.
I'm gonna claim it.
Speaker 1 (13:22):
Yeah, you did yeah, I
just, I just said that before,
that's right.
Speaker 2 (13:26):
Yeah, thank you for
the credit I told you I gave you
credit for it I know and youknow what it must work, because
I have the most referrals in theworld including josh, including
.
Speaker 1 (13:36):
You have your biggest
referral.
Your number one referral is isyou me, and now I work for
munzee, as well, so one of yourreferrals is actually a staff
member now, wow.
Speaker 2 (13:47):
You know some people
think with my 1,500 referrals
they don't think they're qualityreferrals.
But come on.
I've got somebody that worksfor them.
So I think that's a qualityreferral.
Speaker 1 (13:58):
I mean, don't worry
about the other 1,499, but
that's okay.
But we want to hear if you areone of Josh's referrals as well.
Let us know, send us an email, tell me, tell me, tell me who
else is Josh's referrals?
I'd love to know, and so wouldyou, josh too, I dare say.
Speaker 2 (14:15):
And if you want to
become one of my referrals, if
you want to be a part of the1500 Club, you can just go to my
youtube video that I justposted.
Yes, as this as this publishedmonday, it was published
yesterday and my little referralcode, little code is right on
there, you can capture it andjoin the club or or, josh.
Speaker 1 (14:34):
It'll be in the show
notes as well, so I'll put it in
the show notes as well.
Speaker 2 (14:37):
So there you go, you
can put yours and people could
choose which one they want no,no, I'll put yours in.
Speaker 1 (14:41):
I'll put yours in.
You are the number one.
You'll stay number one for that.
There's no way I'm catchingthat number.
Speaker 2 (14:45):
I don't think
anybody's catching it, maybe no
no, exactly.
Speaker 1 (14:49):
All right, josh.
So you're talking about the 138round trip to the sun country
airlines, did?
It was only the weekend, so youdidn't have to pack much at all
, did you?
Speaker 2 (14:57):
no, you know, the
thing with sun country airlines
is that they have cheap faresbut they kind of nickel and dime
you with the baggage, oh soeverything else is extra yeah,
so an overhead is like 30 bucks,a check bag is 30 bucks, but it
was only a three-day weekend soI had a awesome backpack that I
could just put underneath myseat and the backpacks are free.
(15:20):
So that's a good tip for you.
If you travel Spirit Airlines, sun Country, these airlines that
nickel and dime you If you canpack everything really tight
then, you can do it cheap on thecheap, which I did.
Speaker 1 (15:37):
And, josh, I do
believe that backpack that you
used as well.
You did have that, or displaythat on one of your recent
videos on your YouTube channelas well, didn't you?
Speaker 2 (15:44):
Yeah, we should put
it in the show notes yeah, I
will.
It is a really cool.
Yeah, it can fit a lot.
Yeah, and it's TSA approved forunder the seat.
Speaker 1 (15:54):
Yeah, yeah, that's
ideal.
It's a good one, that's ideal.
Yep Link again for that one inthe show notes as well too.
That's pretty cool.
Speaker 2 (16:04):
So, Josh, yeah, how
long did it take you on the
flight?
It's like an hour and 15minutes.
Speaker 1 (16:06):
So it's like you go
up and you come back down again.
Speaker 2 (16:08):
That's nice Pretty
much.
And then I got a rental car andit was about a two-hour drive.
The drive was longer than theflight.
A two-hour drive from St Louisright into Uranus.
Speaker 1 (16:20):
Yeah, and we felt you
coming as well.
So, yeah, we heard you, we sawthe Munzees.
You know that you're cappingalong the way, because Munzees
like that as well.
If you put a Munzee out, youget notifications when people
cap that Munzee as well.
So that's what I mean, joshwe're feeling you coming through
, because you were capping myMunzees that I placed all the
way through too, which is reallyawesome.
Speaker 2 (16:36):
So, yes, and when I
drove into Uranus, you guys were
already in there.
Correct, you were already therehaving fun.
Speaker 1 (16:44):
We'd been there for
two hours already.
So we did like a.
We did this is on the Saturdaybecause the Sunday was.
No, sorry, this is on theFriday because the Saturday was
the events and I said to Rob atthe time I said let's do Uranus
now, let's go in there, let'sreally soak up Uranus, you know
(17:12):
like, really get in there, really sort of enjoy everything
that there is to be about Uranuswithout anyone else you know,
talking munzee stuff as well andso we did.
We went in there on the Friday,uh, just before lunchtime, and
as soon as we walk in, josh, what happens?
Everyone screams out welcome toUranus.
You know the whole.
Every single time someone walksin, they all scream out the
same thing.
You go in there, and then Roband I, josh, spent two hours
soaking up Uranus.
So inside, looking ateverything, we read every little
t-shirt that was there, everystick that was there, and we
(17:33):
listened, josh, listened to allthe staff members, because all
the staff members had very goodinnuendo puns to everyone, every
single person.
I mean there was hundreds ofdifferent puns they were talking
about and I just couldn't stop,you know.
So we bought our fudge as well, and he even asked us, you know,
would you like your fudgepacked, you know, in a nice hard
, solid box, or would you likeit loose as a goose in a bag?
(17:53):
You know that sort of thing.
So we both got it in a box andthen we went and had and that's
when you turned up after that, josh, so we'd been there for two
(18:13):
hours wow yeah it's amazingthat there's enough stuff to do.
Speaker 2 (18:18):
Oh yeah, uranus, you
know for to take up two hours of
fun.
Speaker 1 (18:24):
Yeah, and we didn't
even do everything, Josh,
because you and I we'll talkabout it very soon.
You and I did something that wedidn't on the Saturday.
We didn't do on the Fridayeither, so that was.
That was awesome and, to behonest with you, josh, we were
going to do it, but I said, no,we have to wait for.
Speaker 2 (18:39):
Josh.
Speaker 1 (18:40):
Thank you, because I
know what you like with these
things.
Speaker 2 (18:42):
I know what you like,
mate I know I want to be a part
of it yeah, to be part ofthings, exactly.
So the first thing we did whenI got there yeah, as I saw the
mini golf, oh, I was like, oh,we're gonna do the pirate mini
golf place.
What's it called?
It was called uh, piratesomething pirates, pirates,
(19:03):
pirates and I am ashamed to saythat craig dominated again,
again, just like remember golf.
Speaker 1 (19:12):
remember, josh, back
in florida.
This is a couple of years agonow, the time, the time, josh,
we, we birthed this podcast in ahot tub.
That time, that time, I'mtalking about you and I and rob
as well, and Carson, buckeyeCacher as well, the young guy we
played putt-putt golf inFlorida, and it was golf and
gator.
We played at that too, andagain, I dominated all three of
(19:33):
you there and the dominationkept on going in putt pirates as
well.
So I will say the best thingabout putt pirates, josh, is you
can actually pick yourdifferent colored balls.
Rob picked green becausegreen's for Munzee, I think you
had yellow and I had to haveblue balls, josh, but anyway.
Speaker 2 (19:48):
Yeah, you had to.
Speaker 1 (19:49):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (19:50):
You know, it made
sense.
Speaker 1 (19:51):
Yeah, 15-year-old
Craig made sense.
So mini golf, josh, what didyou like about the mini golf?
I actually really liked thecourse.
Speaker 2 (20:09):
I thought it was a
clever course.
They had water hazards there aswell, which you thought they
were a hazard, but they wereactually a help.
You know?
Yes, that was the best hole.
Speaker 1 (20:11):
Yeah, you could like
hit it into the river and the
river would take it straightinto the hole.
Well, close enough to the holeanyway.
Pretty close, pretty darn close.
Speaker 2 (20:15):
Yeah, yeah, yep so
but yeah, now it's kind of
becoming a tradition if, if youand I and rob are together and
we see mini golf, we have to doit, we have to stop.
Speaker 1 (20:23):
Yeah, it's a thing
now, and I like that thing
because I'm good at it comparedto you two, so I like it more
than axe throwing, for instance.
Speaker 2 (20:33):
You did have some
other competitions that we'll
talk about, we did, we did.
Speaker 1 (20:36):
But next time, josh,
when we have Tim around as well,
our good friend Tim Minnesotaboy, we need to do some mini
golf.
He hasn't played mini golf withus yet, he might be really good
.
He might be really good.
He's done some axe throwing, which he wasn't good at Neither
was I and some other things aswell, but yeah, he might be
really good at it too.
I need some competition, josh.
Speaker 2 (21:01):
So then, after the
mini golf, what else do we do
after that, josh?
Well, I visited the big virtual.
There's a virtual geocachethere yeah.
Word is there used to beseveral geocaches in Uranus, but
I think they got removed.
Yeah, because we'll say it alittle bit later.
They weren't too pleased whenthey found out there was a
Munzee event happening the nextday, and that surprised me.
Speaker 1 (21:22):
That surprised me.
Speaker 2 (21:23):
It's a bummer.
Speaker 1 (21:24):
It is, it is, it is.
Speaker 2 (21:26):
But the first Munzee
event was not in Uranus, it was
in St Roberts and it was at thecoolest place, craig.
It was so cool.
I loved it.
It was the Route 66 Diner, Ithink that's what it was called,
right.
Speaker 1 (21:39):
Yeah, that's exactly
what it was called the Route 66
Diner in St Roberts.
And if you, if you close youreyes, you're listening to us
right now close your eyes andyou picture the words Route 66
Diner, what you see in your headis exactly what it looked like.
It was like a silver, bright, silver, caboosey thing with neon
lights and Route 66 on it andthe arrow with the neon and the
(22:01):
old school, the doors open upwhen you go in and you can sit
at the bar itself or you can.
The black and white checkerfloor as well.
Like it was exactly exactlylike the movies.
Speaker 2 (22:11):
so yeah, yeah, and
there was like a bar and there
was a jukebox yes yes, I had anold-fashioned breakfast there
you were talking so much thatyou didn't even eat.
Speaker 1 (22:21):
I don't think no, I,
I tried to eat some, some salad,
because I was a bit hungry.
But yeah, I, I was talking.
That's what happens, josh, whenyou work for the company, is
that you have to start to talkto people.
Speaker 2 (22:32):
You are so famous now
in the Munzee world because
you're in the game.
You're in the game.
Speaker 1 (22:38):
Yes, I've got badges.
Speaker 2 (22:39):
You have your own.
Speaker 1 (22:40):
Munzees badges.
Yeah yeah, the Flat Aussie aswell.
Speaker 2 (22:52):
The Flat Aussie
Munzee is out there too, and it
has flat aussie events as well, which is really cool.
Speaker 1 (22:54):
So, yeah, yeah, I'm
part of the game.
Speaker 2 (22:55):
Part of the game, I'm
kind of part of the game, but
I'm more munzee adjacent, yes, yeah, yeah, you're munzee
friendly, like I'm munzeefriendly because you, because I
had a badge too.
Speaker 1 (22:59):
Yeah, you had a badge
, coexist badge, which is
awesome.
It was cool, yep, yep.
So that was the route 66 diner.
Again, a wonderful place tostop the food was.
I only had a little bit of asalad, but everyone looked like
it was enjoying their food aswell.
But it's just iconic, josh.
You know the photos you can getfrom out the front, the video
you can get from out the front.
You know the selfies you take.
Speaker 2 (23:34):
If you go across the
US and you're going through
route 66, you've got to stop atthese sort of places.
Um, just to make everyone elsehave fomo, or from your
instagram page, I'll say that.
So, yeah, I love route 66.
You know, I love the roadsideattractions.
So this is just the the tip ofthe iceberg.
Yeah, because we found outafter we left that there is
right in St Roberts, there's anew neon sign.
Speaker 1 (23:47):
Yeah, I was going to
leave that to the end.
We missed it by a week, that'sall right.
We missed it by a week, wemissed it.
Yeah, do you want to?
Speaker 2 (23:54):
talk about it now.
Then Talk about it now.
Yeah, it looks really cool.
It's just like a park filledwith neon signs, right?
Speaker 1 (24:02):
Yeah, yeah, exactly
with an actual footpath as well,
like a concrete footpath thatgoes around, and all the neon
signs are freestanding andthey've all been bolted into the
concrete as well and into Rio.
So they're not going anywhere.
And I'm not sure if they turnon at night or not.
I'm hoping they do, but I'm not100% sure on that.
So it's a possibility theymight, because another one in
(24:25):
Vegas Josh, the ones in vegas aswell that's like a uh, that's a
really cool neon.
So and they, they turn on atnight, so I'm hoping these ones
do too oh, I'm sure they do.
Speaker 2 (24:33):
Yeah, I'm sure they
do.
I mean, I don't know how latethey're up yeah they're on.
But yeah, yeah, I saw thepictures from our, our friend
from silly america.
Yes, yes, she was invited.
Speaker 1 (24:45):
Yes, she got invited.
Of all things, she got invited.
That was awesome.
I loved it.
I loved it.
Um, so, yeah, that's the route66 and the neon signs.
Um then, josh, after that, whatdid we do after that, after the
roots?
We went back to the back to theairbnb, had triscuits and
cheese and and fudge millerhighlife and miller highlife
triscuits cheese, the crackedcracked pepper, yeah, once and
(25:08):
yeah before I even got there.
Speaker 2 (25:09):
Craig, yes, oh man,
he knows me so well, he got my
favorite triscuits I did pepper, crack pepper.
Speaker 1 (25:16):
I know, I know you're
and you were blown away.
Josh see, the last episode wefilm, we recorded.
You were blown away because Iknow, I know what your your
living room looks like and Iknow your record player that you
have and I know how you holdyour vinyls up on the wall as
you're playing the records.
And now you're blown awaybecause I know your taste buds
when it comes to Triscuits, etcetera.
I see, sir, I like it.
(25:38):
Mate, I love that, I like it.
Speaker 2 (25:39):
I love that.
So yeah, we were pretty tired.
Speaker 1 (25:53):
I mean tired, I mean
there was, yeah, it was a, it
was a big day.
Speaker 2 (25:54):
We did a lot, for,
you know, I got there late
afternoon so it was time for bed, but then, yep, we woke up and
the next morning was a big day.
It was this was the big day,the big day in uranus.
This was the big day.
So there were two munzee eventsthat day.
One was in a park in saintroberts.
Yep, and I just love, I lovemunzee events.
Speaker 1 (26:09):
Craig they're
different.
Speaker 2 (26:11):
They're different
than geocache events, very, very
different because geocacheevents tend to be a little bit
more social.
These are social and youactually get to play the game
you want.
You know you want to play.
So there were so many, uh,virtual munzees, as you said
before, but then there's like anice little trail so you can
walk around with people andshoot the crap with people and
(26:34):
catch up with people.
Speaker 1 (26:35):
And I feel, josh, as
well.
When you do that as well, youtend to learn how other people
play Munzee, because Munzee canbe played in several different
ways and people focus ondifferent things.
Some people focus on thevirtual, some people focus on
the physical, some people focuson bounces, et cetera as well.
And we were walking around witha really good player and a good
friend of mine too, sue.
Her name is known as Munroseand her husband, munrose too.
(26:57):
We were walking around withthose two.
You know we had the boostersgoing, so that means we're
getting double points upondouble points and double
physical points and doublevirtual points and points and
and yeah, so we had a reallygood time walking around and
it's.
You can still remain social, butyou can still play the game.
You see, you can't.
You can't do that withgeocaching events, because
there's no, you can't.
And if you find a geocache, then you find the geocache.
(27:19):
That's it.
Like munsies, every 50 foot isa physical munsie that can be
placed every 50 foot, so that'show close they are, and it's a
physical Munzee that can beplaced every 50 foot, so that's
how close they are and it's areally nice walk.
You know, it is a really nicewalk in most cases, so I enjoy
them.
Speaker 2 (27:32):
So that was a lot of
fun.
Yeah, and we spent probablythree hours there.
I'd say, yeah, probably threehours.
Speaker 1 (27:40):
Well, that includes a
good hour walk as well, and
fitness-wise.
You know, you start the walkbecause you're doing 50-odd pins
and you start the walk and youdo it on your watch, your app,
and you walk a few miles and youdon't even realize it, josh,
that you're actually exercising, exercise with purpose.
I love that.
Speaker 2 (28:01):
Exercise with purpose
kind of national events, the
ones that you guys publicize ontheir podcast.
Like everybody who's at thoseevents, you know they're going
to be the top 15, 20 players inthe world that day.
So it's really fun to watcheverybody on the leaderboard
because you're like, oh my gosh, all these people are here at
this event.
So that's kind of fun too.
It's like it's kind of like awho's who of munzee and the
(28:24):
number one player in the world'sthere, which is, uh, bob whalen
, yep, w helen, some people callhim um.
So it's fun.
It's fun to rub shoulders withthe number one players.
And well, we didn't even say it, craig what.
What yours truly was number oneon friday oh, that's true too.
Speaker 1 (28:40):
That's true as well.
Yeah, only because everyone washolding back.
Uh, because the the officialmonth, uh, munzee month starts
on the 3rd, so that was on aSaturday.
So, josh, you went ahead andyou went a little wild on the
Friday and got number one playerin the world on that day.
Speaker 2 (28:56):
Hey, why not?
Why not?
Speaker 1 (28:58):
And I will say Munzee
again, it brings out that
competitive nature in people too.
It is very much a heavilypoints-based game and so, yeah,
you can have fun, but also, atthe same time, you're watching
leaderboards and you see someone, like you know, sue, for
instance, who's slightly incompetition with someone else,
and you know they're literallygoing above and beyond from each
other, trying to cap more andmore and more to get ahead with
(29:19):
each other as well.
So, just like myself and Robcurrently at the moment I'm
chasing Rob down for overallpoints, so we'll see how that
goes.
Speaker 2 (29:27):
But yeah, you don't
know who Rob is.
Rob is the president of Munzee.
Speaker 1 (29:29):
The president, the
numero uno.
He's always been the number onestaff member of Munzee.
So the big cheese, the bigcheese.
I'm going to overtake him inpoints sometime this year.
I'm giving myself a year, sothat's exciting.
So after the the munzee event, josh, we had to wet our whistle
and have a bite to eat, and we,of course we seek out what a
mexican restaurant, becausewe've got to have those
(29:51):
margaritas, josh yeah, this isthe tradition.
Speaker 2 (29:54):
You know, like every
small, I feel like every small
town in america has a good, authentic mexican restaurant, so
we have to stop at to at leastone, at least one meal in a
mexican restaurant.
Yep, and we had some margaritasand um, so it was, yeah, it was
good fun, it was good food, good times, yeah, and uh, yeah,
(30:16):
that's, that's another tip foryou.
Small towns often have a reallygood, at least mexican, really
good mexican restaurant.
Speaker 1 (30:23):
Stop, support those
local businesses and they're
really easy to find too, with agoogle search or yelp reviews,
you know, and you'll find thenumber one there, uh, and you
also if you drive past.
If there's no one in there, then it's probably not the best,
but if there's people in theirlocals, then that's the best one
to do yeah yeah, that's a goodtip.
So, after that we've consumedour food, we went to the big
(30:43):
event in uranus itself, finallyFinally Having big fun in Uranus
.
And this is the time, though, that we got our cameras out now,
josh, and we started to film.
Oh yeah, you know, the Fridaywas more relaxed, no cameras.
The Saturday was filming timeas well.
Oh, yeah.
What was your?
Here's a question for you, offthe cuff.
What was your favorite, yournumber one favorite from Uran,
(31:04):
from uranus or should I, shouldI?
leave that question to the endmy favorite thing about uranus
that's tough because the wholething is just.
Speaker 2 (31:15):
The whole thing is
just one big experience.
But okay, this is the thing Ithink I liked about it the most.
That's root 66.
It's like the epitome of root66.
I loved all the neon signs, like they were really high
quality.
Speaking of neon, that's whyI'm really bummed.
I missed the neon the neon signsare really cool.
(31:36):
They had the one by theputt-putt golf, they had one on
the building of the fudgefactory and then they had the,
the iconic one.
Yeah, it was like out on roadand I think when I see those
neon signs it just speaks to me.
This is Route 66.
I think that was my favoritepart.
Yeah, maybe my second favoritepart was something that wasn't
(31:57):
so great, but it was so fun tojust get your reaction to it.
Speaker 1 (32:02):
We're going to get to
it a little bit later.
I'm thinking that's my numberone too, to be honest with you,
josh, okay.
Why we're going to get to it alittle bit later.
I'm thinking that's my numberone too.
To be honest with you, Josh.
Okay, why don't we get to itnow?
Why don't we just get to it now?
Speaker 2 (32:13):
Sure, but you know I
mentioned the mayor of Uranus is
a giant statue, so I forgot tosay this.
There's one geocache on thesite.
It's a virtual geocache, sothat makes sense, so the people
(32:33):
won't get upset because there'sno container hidden there.
Yeah, but you have to get asign with this giant statue and
it's.
It's an old um muffler manstatue, yeah, so I think there's
muffler men all over, but you, they take these muffler men and
they like paint them and changethem and make them look
different.
So this guy it was a kind ofcowboy hat and he had like red,
white, blue vest and he wasapparently the mayor.
Speaker 1 (32:47):
Yeah, he even had a
golf uh golf stick in his hand
and a golf ball as well.
Because of the yes, so yeahyeah, fun fact, he lost his head
in a tornado well, josh, funfact for you, I was there
exactly 12 months prior to andhe didn't have his head.
That's when he lost his head.
So I have a selfie with himwith no head and then another
(33:07):
selfie with him in a head.
Speaker 2 (33:08):
So there you go, 12
months to the day, 12 months to
the day.
You said that they found thehead like pretty far away
because it torn.
Speaker 1 (33:14):
It was almost two
miles away.
The head itself was almost twomiles away.
Apparently it got the cowboyhat, was what like got the.
Got it sort of ripped off fromthe neck and it was literally
from his neck was gone.
Got it sort of ripped off fromthe neck and it was literally
from his neck was gone, just hishead and his cowboy hat
combined still together.
And they were found like twomiles away and they knew exactly
where it was from.
They called up the insurancecompany and then they went and
(33:37):
picked it up and then put itback on.
So yeah, there you go, thereyou go.
Don't lose your head in Uranus.
Josh.
Speaker 2 (33:43):
Yeah, before we get
to the thing that we want to
talk about.
Yeah, a couple other thingsover there there's the uranus,
uranus jail.
Yep, yep, wasn't much in thereother than a photo opportunity,
although there was a little boxthat said baby rattlers I did
like caution and you looked inthere was like actually like
rattle rattle, like baby rattleslike rattles.
Speaker 1 (34:03):
Yeah, that was kind
of funny.
Speaker 2 (34:06):
And then I did go
into the fudge factory.
The fudge fact, that's likeprobably the yes, the main thing
, the busiest place, yeah, andyou're right, just like you
could stay in there forever.
Just look at all the puns andall the shirts.
I got a.
I got a magnet, yeah, on myfridge right now.
Yeah, that's another tip,that's another.
Here's another travel tip foryou if you want a souvenir, get
a magnet, get a.
They're they're affordable.
(34:28):
And then it's all aboutremembering, right yes you want
to remember the experience.
So when I look at my fridge Iwas like, oh, I remember when I
was at that place, so I I tendto always get a magnet and
magnets are good just becausethey're not permanent like
stickers.
Speaker 1 (34:39):
I mean, I do the
sticker thing because my walls
are actual, uh, wood, so I dothe sticker thing.
I can't do magnets, otherwisewe would do magnets.
But yeah, uh yeah, magnets areremovable as well.
So if you're you know, if yourfridge cocks it and you know you
have to get a new fridge, youdon't have to peel the stickers
off.
You can actually just take themagnets off and put on your new
fridge.
So perfect.
Speaker 2 (34:59):
Yeah, that's perfect.
Speaker 1 (35:01):
Um another thing that
was there was formerly the
former world's largest beltbuckle the former, yes, the
former former, and it even had acertificate there as well from,
uh, the guinness world records.
So it was the holder of theguinness world records, but,
josh, it is now in aberdeencampus, campus abilene, abilene
abilene abilene, abilene inkansas, and I've been to that
(35:25):
one.
A couple of weeks prior, I wasin abilene, kansas, for the moga
event.
That's where I sprained myankle, um, and but that one, the
belt buckle in abilene as well.
Josh, there's got a spiralstaircase behind it and it's all
up in the upper up on on stiltsand you can actually walk up
behind it and get a photo fromabove it, and so it's a really,
really cool, it's brand new, andgoing to say, josh, it's about
(35:46):
one and a half times the size ofthe one in Uranus.
Speaker 2 (35:51):
So it's much bigger
than Uranus.
It's actually a part of theGeoTour in Abilene too, I heard.
Yes, it is, it's one of thelocations.
Speaker 1 (36:00):
Exactly right, and
there's a really good geocache
under it as well.
It's a really good magnetizedcontainer under the staircase it
as well.
It's a really good magnetizeduh uh container under the
staircase.
Speaker 2 (36:10):
So spoiler alert all
right, let's talk about the
pièce de résistance.
Speaker 1 (36:13):
Oh yes, oh yes I, you
wouldn't, I wouldn't think it
was, I wouldn't think it was bylooking at it, but I, I beg to
differ, I look back now and go.
That's, my most memorable partof uranus was the museum.
Speaker 2 (36:30):
The sideshow museum.
And Craig, what do I always sayabout a museum?
Speaker 1 (36:33):
You got to do it, you
got to go.
You never skip.
You never skip a museum, younever skip.
Speaker 2 (36:39):
Even if you're not
really even interested in the
thing that it's about.
Speaker 1 (36:42):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (36:42):
Because you learn so
much.
Because, craig, I was inBowling Green, kentucky, this
weekend and I've been there somany times.
Speaker 1 (36:48):
But the National
Corvette Museum, I was going to
say the car museum, the CorvetteMuseum.
Yes, yes, yes.
Speaker 2 (36:53):
The Corvette Museum
and I actually paid the $25 to
go in and I'm so glad I didbecause it was awesome.
Really it was really cool.
Yeah, if you get by there again, craig, you got to stop at the
corvette museum.
Um, sorry, but we're nottalking about bowling green, no
talking about.
So the sideshow museum is a nodto the old sideshow from you
(37:14):
know, sideshow circus, circuswould come to town you know the
short people bearded ladies.
Speaker 1 (37:20):
You know two-headed
things and, uh, those, they call
them the freaks.
They did call them the freaks, they did call them freak show.
It was a freak show.
Speaker 2 (37:27):
Yeah, and one of the
highlights of this one was
there's a sword swallower.
Speaker 1 (37:33):
And slash magician.
Josh, she's also magic.
She did magic, remember.
You cut that out.
You didn't show any of hermagic in the video.
I don't know why.
I felt a little bit sorry, josh.
I mean, mean, there was you andI and there was a family of
four there watching her, sothere was six people watching
her and it was you could hear apin drop it like it was so quiet
(37:55):
, deadly definitely quiet, andeven in your video.
When I watched your video today, josh as well, uh, when she
swallowed the swords, you youkind of looked around and you
you clapped her yourself, andthat was you were the one
clapping, because I felt bad.
Speaker 2 (38:07):
nobody was clapping
for her.
This is her craft, yeah yeah.
You know, because, yeah, themagic.
Now here's the thing the lady, the people in Uranus that work
there, they might search forstuff.
So, if you're listening, lady,if you're listening,
sword-swallowing lady, I'mimpressed with the sword
(38:28):
swallowing yes, like that's,it's a it's real it's real,
that's a real sword, that'slegit, it was yeah, and she had.
Just like she had, like it wasleopard tattoos all over the
face craig and down hershoulders and her arm and you
know you gotta love, I meancraig.
You gotta love when somebodyfully commits fully, she's like
fully.
She's like I'm in the SideshowMuseum, I'm the sword swallower.
Speaker 1 (38:49):
I'm going to leopard
tattoos all over my face, that's
right, you got to appreciatethat It'd be like you or I, josh
, getting an attractable tattooon us.
Yeah, we're fully committed toour geocaching.
Oh, she's committed.
Speaker 2 (38:59):
So yeah, everybody
was just staring at her.
Like you know, it was asmattering of applause.
I'm just like that's what itsounded like.
Yay, could I just look at eachother and we're like, huh, this
wasn't what I expected.
Speaker 1 (39:17):
But it was a real.
You're right, it was a realsword, josh.
But not only that, what I wasactually impressed by a little
bit as well she swallows thesword all the way down and it's
a good length of sword.
I'm gonna say it's a what's agood boy?
three foot sword do you thinkthree, three feet, three, yeah,
three feet, three down, or dullit yeah, right down into a
stomach itself, um, and it goesall the way down and she, she
stands correctly, so it's astraight line, um, obviously.
(39:40):
But then she leans forward andthe tip of it, the tip of the
sword, is like an old schoolhandle.
So when I say old school, I'mtalking about the handle and I'm
talking about the sides thatcome out as well to to stop your
hand from going to the blade,um.
And so she had that in hermouth and it was at the side,
and then she'd lean forward andit was one of those.
It was one of those electrodes.
You know those little, thoseelectrodes.
(40:00):
There was one of those thereand she put it.
She put the sword tip closeenough to the to make sparks
between the sword sticking outof her mouth and the electrode
too.
So that, to me, added thatlittle bit of flair.
That was a little bit of flair.
Speaker 2 (40:16):
How did she not have
a gag reflex like that?
I mean like really seriouslyTraining, josh, training it has
to be training, I know, but it'samazing and here's a fun fact
we did that.
And then I went back in thefudge factory and there's a
painting on the wall of the ladyof her, of her, exactly, yeah,
yeah, that was really cool.
Speaker 1 (40:33):
I saw that and again,
you don't realize that was
actually, uh, her, until youactually you see her in person
first yeah, she's.
Speaker 2 (40:40):
Yeah, she was.
That was fun, she was committedbut josh but the museum it's
like two-headed stuff.
Speaker 1 (40:46):
It was like
two-headed goats and then
two-bodied stuff as well.
There was two-headed goats andthere was two-bodied chickens.
So in other words, there wastwo bodies and one head on this
one chicken.
So I don't know what sort oftaxidermist, what sick head
taxidermist would do this sortof stuff, but that's what they
did.
They then tried to make updifferent things, like mermaids.
And now josh, those mermaids Ihave not seen mermaids.
And now Josh, those mermaids Ihave not seen mermaids.
(41:07):
That's not mermaids.
Speaker 2 (41:07):
Yeah, they were
creepy, they were like demons,
demon, mermaids.
Speaker 1 (41:12):
They even try and
made a human crocodile as well,
so it's human from the chest upand crocodile from the chest
down.
But then, josh, one was myfavorite was they just got
random face masks that you seein movies and stuff and put them
on foam heads and then had themon display, including your
friend from the Goonies.
Speaker 2 (41:34):
Hey you guys, Yep
Sloth was there.
Yeah, yeah, yep, we're likethat's not a real head, that's
just a sloth mask.
I've got one of those in mycloset.
Speaker 1 (41:45):
One more thing,
joshua, before we move on as
well, I will say and here you go, josh, I'm throwing you the
football ready for this andyou're doing the touchdown right
now.
What would you say about thatwoman, that leopard lady, you
know?
Would you think she's, you know?
Speaker 2 (42:00):
You know what she's
proud?
She's proud of Uranus.
She probably was the most proudperson of Uranus.
She was, she was.
She's proud of her town, andyou know what?
That's a rare thing these days.
That's a damn rare thing thesedays.
There you go.
Speaker 1 (42:12):
Do you like that?
Speaker 2 (42:14):
She loves Uranus.
Speaker 1 (42:16):
Yes, yes, there you
go.
Touchdown, josh.
You're welcome From me.
Craig, the quarterback, you'rewelcome.
Speaker 2 (42:32):
Thank you so much.
Anyway, the shirts, the shirtshave not come yet.
I'm canceling.
Oh really, I'm so glad that Ihaven't told people to buy them,
because because they are they.
I keep contacting.
They're like we're, we're shortstaffed.
I'm like I just bought two.
Speaker 1 (42:41):
You can't make two
shirts in three months yeah,
well, josh, I will say that wehave had a couple of messages,
emails, asking about theproducts.
So there you go.
Unfortunately, yeah, wedefinitely will not have them in
time for a Jill Woodstock.
Speaker 2 (42:57):
Well, maybe if I put
them on a different shop today.
Speaker 1 (43:03):
Well, we can talk
about this after the episode.
We won't have a meeting.
We're going to have a meetingas part of the episode.
Okay, because, josh, again oneof my favorite things.
I didn't know it was myfavorite thing until we did it,
and that is after we were at theUranus.
We then went back to St Paul,st Peter where is it St
something?
Speaker 2 (43:21):
St.
Speaker 1 (43:21):
Robert's Paul.
There's some.
Where is it sent something?
St robert's paul, peter robertI'll get it one day.
Speaker 2 (43:31):
Um, and we went to
bogeys and b josh yeah, that was
so cool.
Tell us about bogeys, andbogeys and beers is like a golf
simulator place where you canlike hit golf balls into a
screen and then it like actuallylike shows where the ball goes,
or whatever.
But, but, but.
But, because we we got there,we had to rent golf clubs.
They had other simulations.
Yes, so we did.
Was it like we did foot golf?
Speaker 1 (43:51):
yeah, which is where
we like a ball a soccer ball.
Speaker 2 (43:54):
We kicked it into the
screen and that was really fun.
It was, it wasn't.
It was tricky, it wasn't easy.
And then we played disc golf, yeah, so we threw discs into the
screen and that was really cool.
It was a ton of fun.
And I was surprised, because wewere there on a Saturday night.
We were the only people there.
Only ones there, I hope bogeysand beers survive this economy.
Speaker 1 (44:18):
It's a good idea, and
it had beers too.
It had a fully-fledged bar aswell, so we were having beers.
It was yes, yes, yes, it kindof looked new, yeah it was.
Speaker 2 (44:28):
Yeah, maybe it was
new people, maybe people didn't
know, about it.
Yeah, maybe it's brand new.
Yeah, but also it had a touchtunes.
Speaker 1 (44:35):
I know how we love
our touch tunes what I love the
most about it, and he doeslisten to the show, josh and
that is rob uh, the president ofmunzee.
He was with us as well.
He chose foot golf firstbecause he's a big soccer fan.
So he thought to himself oh,I'm going to beat these boys at
soccer, josh, who won the footgolf you did I did.
(44:55):
It's because it's golf, evenwith my bung ankle.
And then Josh, who won the discgolf?
I think I did, didn't know Idid.
Thank you very much.
I won both.
I won both.
I won everything all weekend.
So I wish we had some money onit.
We didn't even have any moneyon it this time.
Speaker 2 (45:10):
I know well now that
you work for munzee, you know
the zeds aren't worth as muchfor me, but for you, they are,
for you, they're true, truethey're exactly worth value.
Yeah, so, and that was it.
That.
Was it that?
Speaker 1 (45:23):
was your whole.
We're late it's late.
Speaker 2 (45:25):
We got to go back to
the airbnb, yeah finish off, the
more cheese, cheese exactly andalso, josh.
Speaker 1 (45:32):
You had to get up
early in the.
What time did you leave thenext morning?
Speaker 2 (45:35):
I had to 7.30, 8 am
flight.
So crazy thing is I was homepetting my trusty dog Goliath by
10.30 am Sunday morning.
Speaker 1 (45:57):
So you could be home
for brunch.
So I had all this Sunday Homefor brunch.
Exactly, I was home.
Speaker 2 (46:07):
Exactly, I was home.
So, like the the Munzee morningevent, because there was a
Munzee event on.
Speaker 1 (46:09):
Sunday was still
going on by the time I got home.
Yeah, yeah, it was, it was, andthat was a good event.
That was just at the localCracker Barrel you know how I
love my Cracker Barrels, josh.
So that was, that was a goodbuy event to anyone that was
still left around Uranus as well.
So again, we did a nice little50 pin cap all around the
cracker barrel, um, and I walkedaround with sue munro's there
again as well, uh yeah, and, andbob w helen walked with me as
(46:31):
well.
So lots and lots of fun.
Um, I will say there is oneplayer and I'll give her a
little shout out.
She doesn't, probably doesn'tlisten to this show, um, and
that is tofu girl.
I saw her walking around andthen I looked around and here
she is walking around with atree snake.
I'm like, where did you getthat from?
And she said a tree.
So you know, it takes all types, josh, in our hobbies,
(46:54):
especially geocaching or Munzeeas well.
And one thing I do love aboutour hobbies, and that is that
everyone, every single person,is welcome.
You know, in our hobbies, nomatter what type of person you
are, you're always welcome andyou're always embraced.
Speaker 2 (47:09):
So a big shout out
People are really accepted,
accepted, accepted in ourhobbies.
Yeah, we all have this commonlove for geolocation-based games
.
Everyone is welcome, exactly, and almost everyone's friendly
yeah, almost almost.
Speaker 1 (47:27):
There is still a
couple that aren't.
But you know, humans, humans, Iknow, I know, I know.
Um, all right, joshua, we'regonna get to the patrons because
I'm gonna, I'm gonna say we gota brand new patron, a brand
spanking new patron.
I can't believe it as well.
And he says he's a.
He's a patron because helistens to the show now, and I
think he listens to the showbecause I egg him on so much on
(47:49):
his show.
And it is Scott Burks from theGCPC, also known as the
Geocaching Podcast.
And so, scott, congratulations, mate, and welcome, as he likes
to say, welcome to the innercircle.
He knuckled up to the bar.
Thanks, scott, knuckling up tothe bar.
Thanks, scott, knuckling up tothe bar.
Speaker 2 (48:06):
Finally, because
we've been knuckling up the bar
to your podcast for years nowwelcome scott.
Speaker 1 (48:15):
Thank you, mate, we
do.
Speaker 2 (48:16):
Thank you, scott yes,
and you know, on the geocaching
podcast they have like soundeffects for everybody who calls
them, but we don't have soundeffects.
So I'm going to give sc Scott asound effect right now.
Are you ready?
Yeah, sweet home Chicago.
Speaker 1 (48:34):
Oh geez, I had no
clue what that was until you
said sweet home, chicago.
Speaker 2 (48:40):
I had no clue.
He's from Chicago, yeah.
Speaker 1 (48:43):
Yep, yep, oh Josh,
one more, one more big thank you
oh my gosh, we gotta talk aboutthis huge thank you.
So, josh, this is the first timeuh, because everyone knows I'm
full-time on the road.
I don't have an actual uhresidence and so one one of our
patrons I'm gonna shout outwaymarker, jan, waymarker, jan
josh, josh.
He sent you some gifts, for youand for me as well.
(49:06):
First and foremost, he's partof the actual official
letterboxing.
Letterboxing was likegeocaching before geocaching.
So letterboxing you got todifferent locations, then you
had to do like a treasure huntsort of thing.
Speaker 2 (49:22):
Follow clues.
Speaker 1 (49:23):
Not coordinates?
Speaker 2 (49:24):
No, no, they're clues
.
And then you've got an officialyour own stamp.
A treasure hunt sort of thing,um but letterboxing follow clues
, follow clues, not coordinates.
Speaker 1 (49:25):
No, no, they're clues
, uh.
And then you, you've got anofficial, your own stamp, and
you've got to stamp your stampin that logbook.
And then they've got a stamp inthe, in the cash container, and
you stamp your book with their, with their stamp as well.
That's the way letterboxingworks.
Um waymaker chan.
Let me know if that's incorrect, but I think that's right, I
think that sounds right I thinkthat sounds about right.
Yep, but uh, he made josh, hemade yours and my stamps like he
(49:49):
actually hand carved our logosstamps.
I can't thank this guy enoughthey look so, so good, they are
so good.
But my favorite part waymaker, jan, I know you listen, mate, I
know you listen really well myfavorite part of all was the way
it was delivered, joshua theway it was delivered.
So funny, see, so funny helistens to the show and he loves
(50:12):
, uh, the march madness.
One of his favorite episodes ismarch madness and he goes on
march madness.
And so you know, think aboutback to march madness.
This year, josh, I was for thepatrons, I was for the people,
always for was for the people, always for the people.
Speaker 2 (50:24):
You were the voice of
the patrons.
Speaker 1 (50:26):
I was the voice of
the patrons, so they say yeah.
So they say they all say, everysingle one, including Waymark
and Jed as well.
Because, josh, why don't yousay, firstly, how was yours
presented, how was your displaypresented?
Speaker 2 (50:49):
Mine was in a the my
note.
Yes, because we both had notes.
Yes, my letter was just alittle piece of paper that said
here and the envelope was likehad like coffee stains ratty rat
ready I'm looking at it rightnow spelt your name wrong yeah,
and it says no postage to bepaid by recipients.
(51:12):
I love and that's a shout out towhat I did my mailing for my
patrons, because he's also apatron of the geocaching blogger
as well.
Um, I actually didn't putenough postage on it because I
had all those magnets, soeverything came to people with
postage like they had to pay toget it delivered?
No, that's a shout out to thatclub.
Speaker 1 (51:34):
So so that was yours,
then I get, then I get mine.
Josh, mine is in a beautiful, nice, hard, not cardboard but
sort of you know, not reallynice delicate paper.
It was written in calligraphy, like the old school.
It was beautiful, beautiful,stunning, gorgeous.
It was folded in an immaculateway, like it was actually folded
(51:57):
like an origami.
And then what was the piece ofresistance was it was actually
sealed with an official wax sealand press.
He's got his own press and awax seal on my note, and my note
read all the way down sayingthank you for everything you do,
craig, thank you for being avoice of the patrons.
(52:19):
It went on a full sentence allthe way down, a full paragraph
all the way.
So a big shout out to him.
But again, josh, there wasanother piece of paper in there
Well, not piece of paper, another envelope, and in that
envelope contained a birthdaycard for me, again because of
Voice of the Patroncy, and, josh, $25 gift card to Cracker
(52:41):
Barrel.
So wow, wow, wow, mate, I tellyou next time, Waymarker Jam,
when you see us at jwoodstock, mate, come up.
I've got a big hug for you,mate.
Speaker 2 (52:53):
I'm going to remember
this Waymarker Jam when I meet
you, and I just want to say Ialso have birthday too.
It wasn't anywhere around now,but I also have birthday too,
it's not, it wasn't anywherearound now, and it's not 50.
Speaker 1 (53:08):
But I have a birthday
too, and it's not 50.
Mine was 5-0.
Speaker 2 (53:09):
Oh, that's true.
So it was a big 5-0.
It was a big one.
There you go.
Okay, we'll see what happenswhen I turn 50.
Speaker 1 (53:16):
You always get 5-0,
which is only next year, but
anyway next year.
Speaker 2 (53:22):
I'm only joking, not
even close.
Speaker 1 (53:24):
But, josh, how can
patrons, or how can people
become part of that ScottBurke's inner circle?
If they wish to become a patron, how do they do that?
Speaker 2 (53:32):
Yeah, thanks Scott,
thanks Waymarker, jan Waymarker,
jan super fan.
Speaker 1 (53:38):
He's so nice, he's so
nice, so nice.
Speaker 2 (53:41):
