Guilt vs. Conviction: How to Tell the Difference

Healthy guilt = the Holy Spirit nudging you toward holiness, like "you snapped at your kids, go apologize and confess."

 

Toxic guilt = inner condemnation, "You’re the worst Catholic mom ever, how dare you skip that novena?"

 

If your inner voice sounds more like a bully than Jesus, it’s not from God.
