Speaker 1 (00:01):
Hey y'all, welcome to
Triumph Over Trauma, the
podcast.
Listen y'all.
I created this podcast because, like so many other people, I've
had a traumatic past.
I didn't always realize howthose things affected me
negatively and how I evencarried them into my adult life,
and so I wanted to create aspace where other people could
come and we could have candidconversations on how you
(00:22):
identify trauma, how younavigate it and how you recover
from traumatic experiences.
If this resonates with you, then join me.
I am your host and traumasurvivor, ms Eve McNair.
Let's get into it.
Hey guys, welcome back toTriumph Over Trauma.
Listen.
This week's episode is actuallybeing brought to you by one of
(00:43):
my daily devotion lives onTikTok.
Every Monday, wednesday andFriday, I go live on TikTok and
I share the word of God withpeople to encourage them where
they are in their journeys, especially healing journey.
As you all know, I am a traumaand mental health advocate.
This day's topic was the topicof purpose identifying your
(01:06):
purpose, coming to therealization that you do have
purpose and that you are herebecause of God's purpose for
your life.
So take a listen to thisepisode, which again is being
brought to you by the live thatI shared on TikTok last week.
I pray that it encourages you, strengthens you in the pursuit
(01:27):
and knowledge of what God hasplanned for your life.
Be blessed and know that youhave a purpose.
I come to tell you this morningit's on purpose, that is your
purpose.
You were created with a purpose, for a purpose and on purpose.
It's on purpose this morning.
So many times we get a littlebit confused, we get a little
(01:50):
bit distracted, a little bitturd, we don't know what our
purpose is.
But I'm here to tell you thismorning that it's on purpose.
There's a reason why you werecreated, like I said, with
purpose, by purpose and onpurpose.
God has created you.
We're going to go over thatthis morning so that you go into
your weekend knowing listen, you were created with the
purpose and it's time for us towalk in our purpose.
(02:11):
But before we can walk in it,we got to identify it Like what
am I here to do?
What am I created for?
Why am I here and what do I dowith the purpose or the gifts,
the calling that God has put onmy life?
It's on purpose.
This morning, don't let anybodytalk you out of your purpose,
don't let anybody tell youyou're not here for a reason?
Oh, you just hear you just, youknow it's just random.
God is intentional.
There is no coincidence, nohappenstance.
(02:33):
Even you being on this channelthis morning is intentional.
It's because God wants to getsomething to you so he can get
something through you.
You were created on purpose.
The enemy would love nothingmore than to distract us and to
make us feel like I had nopurpose.
You know, one of the number onecauses of depression is because
people feel like there's nopurpose.
(02:55):
One of the number one causes ofsuicidal ideation is because
people feel like there's noreason for me to be here.
Hey, pd, good morning.
There's no reason for me to behere.
What is my purpose?
And sometimes we spend our lifedoing everything else that
everybody else wants us to do.
We spend our lives withidentity crisis and the wrong
relationships and in the wrongcareers because we don't
(03:17):
understand our purpose.
But God wants to explain ourpurpose.
He wants to reveal it to us.
God wants to reveal ourpurposes to us this morning, but
first we have to understand.
I have a purpose, I have apurpose and I was created on
purpose.
Now you might be in a season inyour life where you're asking
God what is my purpose?
What do I do?
(03:37):
Why am I here?
Why have you created me, evenwhy have you kept me?
But I'm here to tell you thismorning that you were created on
purpose.
We're going to go over somescriptures this morning so that
we fully understand, so that wecan begin to seek God for our
purposes, so that they arerevealed for our lives and in
our lives.
Glory to God, hallelujah, let'spray real quick before we get
started.
Father, thank you.
(03:57):
Thank you this morning forwaking us all up.
You saw fit to allow us to seeanother day.
We thank you for waking us upthis morning, for starting us on
our way.
We thank you for our right mindthis morning, for our mind to
seek you, for a mind to preachyou, to worship you and to
understand you.
Father, in the name of Jesus, god, prepare our hearts and
minds, our souls and our spiritfor your world this morning, as
(04:18):
we take part in your word.
Father.
God, we know that breakfast isthe most important meal of the
day and, god, so we've come todine with you, to eat from your
word this morning, to eat fromyour bounty.
Strengthen us, let this word benourishment to our spirit, to
our bodies, to our minds, to oursouls, god, that we may walk on
purpose and in purpose.
In the name of Jesus, father, first and foremost God, before
(04:40):
we go any further, we want torepent from anything we've said,
done, thought or did that.
This, please you, or grievedyour spirit.
Father, in the name of Jesus, god, you're sending your word.
If we confess our sins, you arejust and faithful to forgive us
.
Please cleanse us, wash us fromall unrighteousness.
Father, god, in the name ofJesus, help us to know that once
we've confessed our sins andyou have forgiven us, they are
removed as far as from the eastto the west, and there is no
(05:03):
condemnation, no guilt to thosewho walk in Christ Jesus.
In Jesus' name, we do.
Amen and amen.
Glory to God, hallelujah, goodmorning everybody.
Welcome to your morningdevotion this morning.
Listen.
Today's topic is it is onpurpose.
The reason why you're here ison purpose.
The reason why you're alive ison purpose.
(05:23):
Your gifts, the callings, everything that God has enabled
you and then dwelled within youis on purpose.
Not only on purpose, but it'sfor a purpose, and sometimes we
don't understand that.
Like I said, sometimes we spendtime, we waste time in the
wrong decisions, in the wrongrelationships, in the wrong
careers, doing things that otherpeople said that we should do
(05:44):
because we have not identifiedour purpose.
But God wants to do that for usthis morning.
He wants to help us to identifyour purpose.
For me to God your purpose.
Almost always, your gifts arealmost always included in your
purpose.
They're like a precursor.
The things that you've beengifted to do are a precursor to
your purpose.
(06:04):
But also the pain that you haveendured, the things that you
have gone through, the thingsthat you've suffered, the things
that you you know, some of thethings that you haven't even
told anybody has to do with yourpurpose, and we're going to
prove it this morning.
Let's go to the first scripture.
We're in Jeremiah 1 and 5.
Jeremiah 1 and 5.
Oh, we got Jeremiah 1 and 5.
(06:24):
Y'all know we're in a new KingJames version of the Bible this
morning.
It says listen, before I formedyou in the womb, I knew you
Before you were born, Isanctified you, I ordained you a
prophet to the nations.
Listen, he said before I formedyou.
First of all, you wasn't even.
Good morning Jeri.
I was about to call you Jeriand my morning Lee, thank you
(06:46):
for posting the scripture.
Before I formed you, he said youwasn't even formed on your own,
it wasn't just because your momand dad got together.
He says I formed you in yourmother's womb.
Why would God take time to formyou in your mother's womb if
you didn't have a purpose?
Listen, before I formed you inyour womb, I knew you Before you
(07:07):
were even formed.
What do you mean?
Before you was even detectableby an ultrasound, before you
even begin to kick, before youbegin to move in your mother's
womb, before a fetus was evenformed, before they could even
detect you as a living being.
In your mother's womb.
I knew you, what I knew youbefore you were even formed.
(07:29):
Can you imagine I'm talkingabout?
Before the sperm even met theegg?
Y'all know simple biology.
This ain't sex education.
We all know.
We all adults here.
But before you even became afetus, I knew you.
Come on, he says I formed you inthe womb.
I knew you before you were born.
I sanctified you and I ordainedyou.
(07:50):
He had a purpose for you beforeyou even got here.
He created you on purpose, before you were even born,
before you even manifested.
Let me, let me let youunderstand something when the
enemy tells you that there's noreason, I don't care where you
are, I don't care what's goingon in your life, but when the
enemy tries to tell you thatthere's no reason for you being
(08:12):
here, tell them that, god, yougotta speak back to the devil.
I'm not talking about have ayou know less physical
conversation with him.
I'm talking about you gottarebuke the devil with scripture.
The Bible says in Jeremiah oneand five before I formed you in
the womb, I knew you and beforeyou were born, I sanctified you
and I ordained you.
Listen, you gotta talk back tothat spirit that tries to make
(08:32):
you feel like it's of no use,it's of no consequence that
you're here.
Glory to God.
Let's go to the next scripture.
The first point was you weremade for a purpose, he said.
I formed you and I sanctifiedyou.
That means I set you apart.
The reason why your life hasbeen different, the reason why
you don't fit in in every circle, he said because I sanctified
(08:53):
you, and sanctified means setapart.
You've been set apart, you'vebeen sanctified.
I used to hate that growing up.
You know when you want to becool, you want to do what the
other girls and other guys isdoing.
You want to show out, you wantto do what you want to do.
It don't sit right in yourspirit like, well, I can't do
what they be doing.
They just to be doing whateverthey want to do and it seems
like life is easy breezy forthem.
But when I'm going to do what,I get convicted.
(09:13):
When I'm going to do what, Godblock it because you've been set
apart.
He said I sanctified you Gloryto God, hallelujah.
So the first point Jeremiah 1and 5, was I made you for a
purpose.
Second point is 1 Peter, 2 and 9.
Let's go there real quick 1Peter 2 and 9.
We come in to identify ourpurpose, father, identify the
(09:34):
purpose of your people.
We're ultimately the purposesfor us to glorify God.
But there's a reason, there's apurpose that he created in all
of us so that we can give Hisname glory.
1 Peter 2 and 9.
Let's read he says but you area chosen generation.
Somebody say I'm chosen, justput that on the screen.
(09:55):
You are a chosen generation, aroyal priesthood, a holy nation,
his own special people.
Let me tell you again who youare.
But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy
nation, his own special people, that you may proclaim the
(10:15):
praises of Him who called youout of darkness into His
marvelous light.
I'm chosen.
See, I don't have to worryabout you rejecting me.
I don't have to worry about youabandoning me.
I don't have to worry about youtrying to cancel me.
I don't have to worry about youdisproving of me, because I've
been chosen.
The Bible says many are called, but there's a few that have been
(10:37):
chosen.
That's the word.
That's the word.
Many are called.
God is speaking to all of ourhearts.
He loves everybody.
He wants all of us to come tothe knowledge of Him, to come to
His saving grace.
The Bible says many are called, everybody in this world.
He's calling everybody, he'swooing everybody.
He's speaking to the hearts andto the mind of everybody, but
(10:59):
only a few have been chosen.
Listen, let me read that again.
But you are a chosen generation,a royal priesthood, a holy
nation, his own special people.
I'm special.
You don't try to convince meotherwise.
I'm special.
I mean something to God, I'mworth something.
See, the enemy at one pointtried to hold my self-esteem
(11:19):
hostage, tried to tell me I wasnobody, I was not going nowhere,
I wasn't worth anything.
But now I understand who I am.
I'm special.
You can't try to make me feellike I'm not.
I see, when I told y'all aboutmy past and my childhood, how I
was abandoned and abused andrejected and neglected, all the
stuff I went through and allthat trauma tried to make me
feel like I was a nobody.
I was like dang, don't, nobodylove me.
(11:41):
And one day I said that and Iheard the Holy Spirit say I do.
I said God.
It felt like nobody loved me.
He says I do, see, and His lovegives me value.
Come on, he says a chosengeneration, a royal priesthood,
a holy nation, his own specialpeople.
Let me tell you he says His ownspecial people that you may
(12:03):
proclaim the praises of Him whocalled you out of darkness into
His marvelous light.
See, that's what I was createdfor.
I was created for this, andcan't nobody tell me different.
I was created to give God glory.
With my story, with all thatI've been through, with all that
I've suffered, even with allthat God has been bringing me
through, I was created for this.
Whatever it is that God hascalled you to do, even if
(12:26):
there's somebody else doing it,you were created for this.
Come on somebody say I wascreative.
For this, he says that you mayproclaim the praises of him who
called you out of darkness.
See, darkness is when you don'tknow who you are, who's you are
.
We don't know what belongs toyou.
You don't know that God lovesyou.
You don't know that you werecreated for a purpose and with a
(12:46):
purpose.
You don't understand why you'rehere.
Come on, but you were createdfor this.
The enemy comes to steal, killand destroy.
One of the ways he destroysGod's people Come on, let's go
there.
One of the ways that hedestroyed God's people is
through a lack of knowledge.
The Bible says my people perishfrom a lack of knowledge.
(13:07):
Come on, because we don't knowwho we are and we don't know why
we are.
Why was I created?
Why I'm here?
What's the purpose?
Why am I here?
And so sometimes we live ourlives vicariously, half-azardly.
We just do whatever we want, say whatever we want, go
wherever we want.
But you'll know that you'vebeen chosen when you get in
certain environments and youjust can't be there.
(13:27):
You're trying to do whateverybody else do and it don't
feel comfortable.
The Holy Spirit will convictyou because you don't belong
there, even when you try to livea certain lifestyle.
You might try to live it.
I remember one time I was tryingto be with this guy.
I was trying to be with thisguy and I just knew that guy was
for me and I was for him, and Idon't care what nobody say,
because we belong together.
We go together real bad, listen.
We go together real bad, andain't nobody breaking us up.
(13:49):
But let me tell you something.
The Lord separated us and myheart was broken, broken what I
was broken?
Because God, what is you doing?
This is who I'm supposed to bewith.
And God separated us and movedhim all the way across the
country and the Lord began tospeak to me and he said I
separated you because that's notwho I have for you.
And I was like, well, who didyou got for me?
(14:11):
He said somebody that willpoint you to me, somebody that
will it's a help meet, that willhelp you meet me, that will
meet you where you're supposedto be at in God, and help you
get you where you're supposed tobe.
See, I thought because helooked good and I look good.
You know I ain't trying to domy own home, but I think I look
all right.
You know I'm thinking like youknow we got some things in
(14:31):
common.
There's some chemistry there.
How many of you know you couldhave chemistry?
You know y'all could get alongreal good.
Y'all could have some of thesame interests, y'all could be
attracted to each other.
Come on.
But that don't mean they're foryou See that that will not how
to send you a counterfeit, especially before you're about
to get blessed.
He know how to send you acounterfeit.
They come looking like you wantthem, smelling like you want
(14:51):
them, dressing like you wantthem.
Come on.
But they don't be the realthing.
And then some of us get caughtup in the counterfeit and it
detours our lives for years.
Come on, somebody been thereand done that, wound up with the
wrong person.
Now you got to go through thecycle of how are you going?
How am I going to get out ofthis?
Because I don't hook up withthe wrong person, because I
(15:11):
don't know what my purpose is.
Now your feelings are hurting.
You got to go back to God.
Let me tell you somethingWhatever you go outside of the
will of God to get, you're goingto have to stay out of sight of
the will of God to keep.
So if you had to step out ofthe will of God, if you met him
at the bar or sis, and you knowyou wasn't being supposed to be
at the bar, now you drinkingevery weekend, whatever you have
to step outside of the will ofGod to get.
(15:34):
You're going to have to step orstay outside of the will of God
to keep.
Listen, but that's not the willof God.
He says you're a chosengeneration, a royal priesthood,
a holy nation.
So when you're looking for aspouse, even for a friend,
platonic relationships, rightEven you just want a girlfriend
like you might be a woman andyou're like I want community, I
want to be with somebody youknow who can lift me up, a
(15:54):
prayer partner.
You might be a man who's likeI'm looking for brotherhood.
You know what I'm saying.
Now, I don't know, you knowother stuff, but you just
looking for community and spaces, that where you can be yourself
and be accepted at.
You got to pray about thatBecause sometimes, listen, I
ain't saying you can't trustsomebody, but Kat Williams said
can't nobody be trusted?
I'm just saying, but you got topray about that.
God, is this person the personthat you should have in my life
(16:16):
right now right?
Will this purpose, will thisperson serve the purpose of God
in my life?
Come on, you ever becomefriends with somebody?
I'm talking about just platonicfriends, like that's just your
girlfriend, that's just yourdude.
You know, you're all, justfriends.
You give them your whole heart, you trust them.
Whatever, you give them theshirt off your back and before
you know what you betrayed, listen, and it happens.
(16:36):
Let me tell you something.
I had this friend and I'mtrying not to get off topic, but
real quick, I had this friend.
This was my girl.
This was my girl and I'mtalking about.
You know, this is the girl thatyou tell your secrets of
secrets to.
Ain't nobody know this stuff.
But her right, this was my girl.
But this is what happens whenyou don't pray about friendships
, when you don't ask God to leadyou and reveal and I ain't
(16:58):
gonna lie, if I'm honest, therewas a dream I had about her, but
I kinda thought, like, is thismy own emotions?
But it was the spirit of Godspeaking to me.
So you gotta pay attention towhen God speaks to you and ask
him to give you a sensitivity tohis spirit so that you would
listen to him.
Glory to God.
And so the Lord warned me aboutthis woman.
But I was just like, oh, Ithink that's just my own
(17:18):
emotions or something.
Maybe that's my own pasttraumas or fears.
But the Lord revealed somethingto me about her and, sure
enough, just as he revealed it,so it happened.
And this woman I don't know ifit was intentional well, it had
to be intentional because shedid it on purpose but portray me
something fierce I'm talkingabout almost messed my life up
(17:40):
and I was like, but God, how hesays you have to pray about your
friendships, and when I revealsomething to you, you gotta be
obedient enough and willingenough to walk alone for a
season in your life.
You can't afford to try to bringeverybody with you.
See where you going right now.
The truth of the matter is, isGod is separating you and some
(18:01):
of us who have abandonmentissues?
Come on, let's talk about it.
Some of us who have abandonmenttrauma, been there, done that,
still working through it.
I'm in therapy about it.
But some of us who have thatabandonment issue, who have
developed that negative copingmechanism of co-dependency come
on, who we got a problem withbeing alone.
With those of us who haven'tfaced those issues right.
We're still struggling, we'retrying to get there.
(18:23):
You gotta be careful because youcan wind up in soul ties, come
on with the wrong individuals.
And soul ties doesn'tnecessarily have to be of an
intimate nature, like you know, physical, sexual, intimate
nature.
It could be emotional.
You in an emotional soul tiewith somebody you co-dependent,
what, and can't get out.
I can't leave them, but I needthem.
(18:46):
The Bible tells me that he setsthe lonely in families.
So when you lonely, when you byyourself, when you're going
through, when you feel alone, hewill give you the family, he
will give you that community, hewill give you the right people.
See, when you walk in yourpurpose, who is supposed to be
there will be attracted to you.
Your purpose attracts thepeople that's meant to be in
(19:08):
your life for the purpose ofGod's will in your life.
All right, a chosen generationof royal priesthood, a holy
nation, his own special peoplethat we may proclaim the praises
of him who called you, are thedarkness.
I can't walk in darkness, nomore, because that's not where I
live.
I once lived there, in thedarkness of my mind, not knowing
who I was, who God was, what hewanted from me, what he
(19:29):
expected of me.
I lived in darkness accordingto the flesh, doing whatever I
wanted, saying whatever I wanted.
Come on, living however Iwanted, but I don't live there
anymore.
My address has changed now Ilive in the spirit.
I've been called out ofdarkness to proclaim him, who
caught me into his marvelouslight.
The second point was 1 Peter2.9 that we just read.
(19:50):
You've been chosen for it.
I don't live there no more.
Don't come looking for me atthe same address, because I've
relocated and the Bible saysI've been seated in heavenly
places.
You're still looking for medown here and I don't live there
no more.
Ecclesiastes three and one isthe third point.
Let's go there.
Everything has a purpose, notjust you.
I'm talking about everythingand everybody has a purpose.
(20:14):
Listen, everything got apurpose, everything and
everybody, but not everybodycomes to the full knowledge of
it.
Everything has a purpose.
Let me prove it to you.
Ecclesiastes three and one thisis the word.
Ecclesiastes three and oneproves to me.
It says this.
Ecclesiastes three and oneproves to me.
It says this to everythingthere is a season, a time for
(20:34):
every purpose under heaven.
Everything has a purpose andthere's a time for your purpose.
How many of you know that thisis the time for your purpose to
be revealed.
This is the time for you tounderstand what your purpose is,
and everything that was createdhas a purpose.
(20:55):
God has not made anything thatis without purpose.
Let me tell you how this.
I was going for a walk the otherday and I was in the park and
it was like a real woodsy areaand I noticed that as I'm
approaching this particular treeis a whole bunch of gnats
around and I'm like maybe I canmove over a little bit.
So you know how you walkthrough gnats and they get all
(21:16):
over you, they get all in yourhair.
And I'm like God, please don'tlet me walk through these gnats.
And they get me.
So I try to walk, I try to moveout the way, girl, I try to get
out the way and the gnatsfollow me.
So now I'm running through thepark trying to get the gnats off
of me, shaking, and now I'mlike hyperventilating because I
feel like bugs all over me thewhole time.
It's my own hair.
I'm like, oh boy, I hate thesegnats.
What's they even here for?
Like, what is the purpose ofgnats?
(21:38):
Like, do they really got apurpose?
Why go home and I Googled it,see, because the Bible tells me
that everything has a purpose.
Don't laugh at me, chantel.
So I go home and I Googled it.
Why is it that gnats have such apurpose?
First of all, they're createdfor the pollination of flowers.
They have helped the flowerspollinate.
(21:59):
They're created for food forsome of the birds and some of
the other insects.
Like they have such a purpose, and when you see them in these
big swarms, they're actuallymating.
And after they mate and layeggs, they typically die.
But they can't even die untilthey have fulfilled their
purpose.
(22:20):
And I said, wow, when I read thescripture this morning, to
everything there's a season anda time for every purpose in the
heaven.
I said, wow, god, you reallywaste nothing.
Everything has a purpose, eventhe things that annoy us.
Come on, gnats is mad.
Anoying.
Like you get a gnat on you, like you feel like you be
scratching and itching all day.
But everything has a purpose.
(22:44):
Glory to God, hallelujah, thankyou Jesus.
So the third point, withEcclesiastes 3 and 1, everything
has a purpose.
Let's go to the next one,jeremiah 29 and 11.
We just go and walk to the word.
Let's walk y'all, jeremiah 29and 11,.
He says but I know the thoughtsI think towards you, thoughts
of peace and not evil, to giveyou an expected and a hope in
(23:07):
the future.
Why would God have thoughtstowards somebody if he didn't
create them for a purpose?
Why would he create you?
Why would his thoughts betowards the benefit or the
prosperity of your future?
Why would he be thinking aboutyour future?
Why would he be thinking aboutyour hope?
Why would he be thinking aboutthat if he didn't create you
with a purpose?
(23:27):
He says in Jeremiah 29 and 11,for I know the thoughts I think
towards you.
Do you know that God isconstantly thinking thoughts
towards you when ain't nobodyelse checking for you?
God is.
Do you know that there is timesin our life where you feel like
anybody thinking about me,anybody checking for me, anybody
call me.
Did they see how I was doing?
(23:47):
Anybody ask me how I'm living?
Anybody say, hey, do you needanything from the store?
Ain't nobody checking for me?
But the Bible says that God isall the time.
He says I know the thoughts.
Not only do I have the thoughts, but I know the thoughts when
nobody else think I'm thinkingabout you.
When nobody else is thinkingabout you.
I know the thoughts that I havetoward you say of the Lord,
(24:07):
thoughts of peace, they mean itfor your evil.
I'm thinking thoughts of peace.
He says they're not evil, togive you a future and a hope.
See, he wants to get you to theplace where you understand that
I was really created for apurpose.
I'm really here for a reason.
I'm here to help somebody.
I'm here to tell somebody thatthey was created for a purpose.
(24:32):
Listen, created with a purpose.
Come on somebody.
He says I know the thoughts Ithink towards you, thoughts of
peace and not evil, to give youa hope and a future.
And, expected in, you canexpect peace in your future.
You can expect hope in yourfuture.
You were created for this and Iknow the thoughts I think
toward you.
(24:52):
Don't let anybody tell you thatnobody's thinking about you.
Don't let they tell you thatyou're not on the mind of God.
You're on his mind and he hasthoughts that he's thinking
toward you.
So the fourth point was he has apurpose for your purpose.
He has a purpose for yourpurpose.
There's a purpose that you havethat God is going to reveal,
(25:13):
that he's revealing to you evennow, and that purpose has a
purpose, to give him glory, tomagnify the Lord, to give you a
hope in a future.
Let's go to the fifth point, job 42 and two.
We almost done y'all, job 42and two.
Let's go to it real quick.
He says I know that you can doeverything and that no purpose
(25:34):
of yours can be without from you.
No purpose of yours can bethwarted.
That means there is no purposeof God that can be stopped.
So God created you with apurpose by his purpose and his
purposes cannot be stopped.
His purpose for you can't bestopped.
(25:56):
Now, sometimes we delay ourpurpose right when we hook up
with the wrong people, when wego the wrong way.
God told us to go left.
We go right.
God tells us to do this and webe like I think I'm going to see
for myself.
And he's like Dad, you know, held up the purpose.
That's not the purpose I hadfor you.
Now you're going to spend yearsin the wrong way doing the
wrong thing, and that's not.
You're going to delay it, butyou can't, but it can't be
(26:18):
stopped.
He says listen, I know that youcan do everything and that no
purpose of yours can be withheldfrom you.
There's no purpose that God hasfor you that can be withheld.
So we have to begin to ask Goddon't let me, don't let me
sabotage my own purpose.
Come on, sometimes we good atself-sabotaging.
What Self-sabotaging?
(26:39):
A minute, I'll talk yourselfout of God's purpose in a minute
.
But God don't want you doingthat.
He's saying, want you to knowthat you were created for a
purpose, with a purpose and onpurpose.
So that fourth point, one, two, three, four, fourth point was I
mean fifth point was Hispurpose for you can't be stopped
.
All right, we're going to go toActs 13, 36.
We're almost done, acts 13, 36.
(27:01):
Let's go to real quick.
It says for David after he hadserved his own generation by the
will of God, fell asleep andwas buried with his father and
saw corruption.
Listen, let me just read thatagain because this might be a
little bit tricky.
We're in a new King Jamesversion.
He said for David after heserved his generation by the
(27:21):
will of God, he fell asleep.
That means he died.
After David, after he servedhis own generation by the will
of God, he fell asleep.
He could not even go to thegrave until he had served his
own generation, until he had didwhat God purposed him to do.
This, says David, after heserved his own generation.
(27:46):
Listen, you're from a specificgeneration and you were called
to the kingdom of God for such atime as this.
Listen to Book of Esther, ifyou want to look at this.
You've been created for such atime as this.
You can't go nowhere.
You're not leaving up out ofhere, god even going to let you
exit this world until yourpurpose has been finished.
(28:06):
You were created.
It's about your legacy.
Do you know that David wasconsidered a man after God's own
heart?
He has a legacy.
We read about him, his legacyhere, for David, after he served
his own generation by the willof God, by the will of God.
That's the purpose of God, itsays.
Then he fell asleep and wasburied with his fathers.
(28:28):
Father, don't let me die beforemy purpose is fulfilled.
Don't let me leave this earth.
They say that the grave is fullwith gifts, talents and
purposes that people havenegated because they did not
come to understand that theywere created for a purpose.
They were created on purpose,by purpose and with purpose.
(28:52):
It was after David did the willof God that he went to sleep,
that he rested with his fathers.
Let's go to the last scripture,ephesians 2 and 10.
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good
works, which God preparedbeforehand that we should walk
in him.
We are His workmanship, createdin Christ Jesus, right For good
(29:17):
works, which God preparedbeforehand.
It's already been prepared foryou to walk in it.
Come on.
His workmanship created forgood works, that's a purpose.
He says His workmanship createdin Christ Jesus for good works,
which God prepared beforehandthat we should walk in them.
(29:38):
It's time for you to walk inyour purpose.
Ask God to help you identifywhy I've been created.
Why have I been created?
What is the call of God on mylife?
What do you want me to do?
Remember when Jesus was in theGarden of Cassinomy right before
(30:01):
His crucifixion.
Let me tell you something, because sometimes we think that
our purpose are just tied to ourgifts and our talents and our
abilities, and they are one partof it.
But even your pain will pointto purpose.
Remember when Jesus was in theGarden of Cassinomy and he was
about to be crucified.
He was about to be handed over.
He asked His disciples to comepray with Him for an hour and
(30:23):
they kept falling asleep.
But while he was in the Garden.
He kept praying and praying, and praying and praying.
He prayed so heavily and somightily that it says that His
sweat was like drops of blood.
He prayed so earnestly, he wasin so much distress and he said
to the Father can this cup passfrom me?
Do I have to go through thistrauma?
Do I have to go through thistrial?
(30:45):
Do I have to go through thispain?
Do I have to go through thistribulation?
Can this cup pass from me?
See, even in His pain, it wasfor a purpose.
And some of us, we want to getrid of the pain that we've gone
through.
Y'all know I've been through alot of stuff.
I told you all about the traumaand the pain and the
abandonment and the rejectionand all of that stuff that I
(31:05):
went through.
I thought it was for no reason.
I'm just like.
I went through all of that fornothing.
There was no purpose in that inmy life.
But even now God has me as atrauma and mental health
advocate, helping peopleidentify the trauma they've gone
through, navigate it andrecover from traumatic
experiences.
See, it was for a purpose.
But if I negated the pain thatI had gone through, if I had
(31:25):
neglected it, if I had lookedover it, I would not be able to
identify what my purpose is.
And many of us have experiencedsome painful things in our
lives and we think it was for noreason.
But if you went through that sothat you could tell somebody
else, I understand, and withthat same level of comfort that
God has comforted you, you'regonna be able to comfort
(31:47):
somebody else.
Somebody say it's on purpose, glory to God.
It's on purpose.
Don't negate what you've beenthrough, don't negate what
you're going through, don'tnegate even what you're coming
through even now.
It's on purpose, glory to God.
Hallelujah.
We praise God for the word ofGod this morning.
(32:07):
Listen, the Bible says his wordis a lamp into my path and a
lamp, I'm sorry, a lamp into myfeet and a light into my path.
He leads us, he guides us, andthat's what he's doing for us
this morning.
He's leading us and guiding us.
He's revealing to us what ourpurpose is.
He wants to take us deeper, hewants to take us higher, he
wants to pull us closer.
So he wants to reveal to uswhat it's all about.
(32:30):
He wants to get us to a placewhere we understand where the
math starts to math.
Because right now.
Sometimes, when we go and dostuff, y'all know what they say
the math ain't math and thisain't adding up.
What's the God?
What was this all about?
Who did I go to that for?
But God wants to reveal it tous.
Grow it to God, hallelujah.
So take these scriptures back toGod in your own time and, just
asking God, help me to be in aplace where you can reveal your
(32:51):
purpose for my life.
I understand that I've beenchosen, I've been created, I've
been called to the kingdom ofGod.
For such a time is this don'tnegate your purpose.
All right, guys, that's it fortoday.
Listen, I pray that you wereencouraged.
I pray that you are motivatedto seek God regarding your
purpose, what you're here to do,what you're here to fulfill,
(33:15):
what goals, dreams, visions Godhas given to you to do in this
earth.
May your purpose be Revealedunto you and not only revealed
but fulfilled to the fullestextent.
May you reach your God-givenpotential and everything that
(33:36):
God has assigned for you to do.
That is my prayer for you today.
