Speaker 1 (00:01):
Hey y'all, welcome to Triumph Over Trauma, the
podcast.
Listen y'all.
I created this podcast because, like so many other people, I've
had a traumatic past.
I didn't always realize howthose things affected me
negatively and how I evencarried them into my adult life,
and so I wanted to create aspace where other people could
come and we could have candidconversations on how you

(00:22):
identify trauma, how do younavigate it and how you recover
from traumatic experiences.
And this resonates with youth.
And join me.
I am your host and traumasurvivor, ms Eve McNair.
Let's get into it.
What's up guys?
Welcome back to Triumph OverTrauma.
Hey, how you been, how youdoing, what's up with you?
Listen, I know it's been alittle bit since our last

(00:44):
episode.
You know what they say life islife and you just got to get in
where you can fit in, and sotoday is where I fit in.
With today's episode, I'mtrying to be better at
consistency and persistency, andit is difficult, amongst other
things that are going on, andyou can become easily distracted

(01:04):
or even discouraged, especiallyif you lack consistency or if
you aren't as persistent as youcould be, because you know that
there's a lack of consistency.
And that actually brings me totoday's topic.
We've all heard of the term useit or lose it, and the thing is

(01:26):
we use that term so loosely, sometimes, right, like use it or
lose it, but the reality of itis is, what you don't use
regularly, you will lose.
Right, you will lose functionof or capacity of, and that can
apply to so many different areasof our life.
That can apply to your time.
If you don't lose your time, why is it that kind of time that
can apply to your physicalstrength, your muscle mass.

(01:51):
You can lose that.
That can apply to your braincapacity, creativity, which you
don't use, you will lose.
And I've come face to face withthe reality of that.
When I started thinking aboutthe podcast and how consistently
I post and how consistently Ieven show up in the gifts that
God has given me, I'm like, ohgoodness, how can I use these
gifts?

(02:11):
I got to do something with whatGod has given me, and so it
triggered this.
A trigger today's episode is,of course, but it also made me
go into detail, maybe go intodepth, as to what that term
means use it or lose it right, and like how serious it is and
how it literally can affect, butit also made me think about how
unresolved trauma can play apart in it as well.

(02:34):
Right, you know some.
We know that what you don't use, you can lose, but sometimes we
don't realize the reason whywe're not using it.
Why are you not operating fullyin your full capacity?
Right, why are you not showingup in your full potential?
What is holding you back?
And not to give them yourexcuse for anything, but
sometimes you got to trace thesethings back and see where they
come from.

(02:55):
The term pretty much means, inorder to retain proficiency over
a function, you must use itregularly, like there must be
regular, regular use of thisparticular function in your life
in order for you to maintainproficiency over it.
Right, that's now kind of deep, but the truth of the matter is

(03:15):
that goes for just about everyarea of our life, when you think
about it, even in terms of yourbody, your muscle mass right,
there is this term.
There is another term calledatrophy, and it's basically the
shrinking of it means to shrink.
It means to dissipate slowly,to go away, to lose function.
Right, and if we don't use ourmuscles, if we don't move our

(03:37):
bodies, the muscles becomeweaker and they actually begin
to shrink as we age.
People can lose anywherebetween 20 to 40% of their
muscles, right?
Do the inactivity, do thesedentary lifestyles?
Not only do they lose musclemass and they also lose a
portion of their strength alongwith it if they are inactive,

(04:00):
right?
Not to mention, the lack ofphysical activity also poses a
risk of feelings of anxiety anddepression.
It's also a sedentary lifestylealso is associated with the
risk of type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease and
premature death.
So when you think about it,like wow, when you think about

(04:22):
how this term applies to justyour body, right.
And I remember one time I wastaking this dance class with one
of my aunts, pamela PANTS.
You know, a couple people inthe class were a little bit
older to me and I came in therewith my heels on and I just knew
that I was getting Ray's showthese older gals how to do it

(04:42):
right.
I came in here with my littlewedges on and they turned the
music on and she was going overthe routine and I could not get
it.
I was not in step with it andthe older girls they was running
, giving me a run for my moneyand I was like, wait a minute,
I'm not getting in mycoordination was off like
something right.
And now I typically I have beendense in the, I guess, club

(05:03):
setting in years, haven't gonedancing or been in environments
where I was required to dance inyears, right, um.
But what I learned about thatlesson is, what I learned about
that day was literally like whatyou don't use, you will lose.
Because I had hadn't been inuse, because my body hadn't been
used to moving in that capacity, keeping up with the beat, with

(05:24):
the rhythm and different things, and the coordination was off
and I was like, uh-uh, I was alittle bit embarrassed because I
was like not me being theyoungest one here Not being able
to keep up, and these women wasin their 40s, 50s and 60s at
the time.
They might have been like intheir 50s and 60s, um, because I
wasn't yet 40 yet, but, um,they was, they was keeping up

(05:46):
with it and I was like, oh mygoodness, I'm so embarrassed.
And so I just think about thateven to now.
It reminds me, actually, ofthat scripture that says Let us
run the race before that's setbefore us.
Right now they were talkingabout spirits letter spiritually
run the race that's set beforeus, but you got to physically
run your race too, like you gotto physically stay in step and
stay in tune with your body, with your muscles.

(06:06):
You know you got to be active,um, physically right, or you
will lose control or function ofyour own body.
Like that's deep to me, likewhat you mean I can lose
function of my own body if I'mnot active, if I live a
sedentary lifestyle, if I'm not,if I don't work out right.
And again, this is sobering tome because I work out every day

(06:29):
now and, uh, I do a combinationof cardio, yoga and weight
lifting or like I guess I don'tknow if you used to call it
weight training or whatever andwhen I first started out doing
it, one of the one of the repsis to do some push-ups.
I could not do a push-up andI'm not saying that I might go
literally proficient in push-upsnow, but, um, I can actually

(06:51):
get up, I could go down, but Icouldn't pick myself back up and
I was like, oh, my goodness, Ican't even do a push-up.
But I start to realize thatover time, with consistently
doing this particular workout, Iwas able to get myself back up
and I'm like, oh, I could do onepush-up, okay, I could do two
push-ups.
Okay, I can do this and and.
So now it's becoming a littlebit easier for me to get, you

(07:12):
know, back up in that of rep, that push-up, but if I miss one
day of the workout, the next dayI feel rusty, I'm like I only
miss one day, you know, but youhave to be consistent.
You have to use it or you'lllose it.
Now I do want to say thisbecause I've come to understand
that people who suffer fromtraumatic events or unresolved

(07:33):
trauma it is proven that traumastays stuck in their body.
For instance, I'm reading thisbook called the body keeps the
score and it talks about how, when we Don't have an escape
from the trauma we've gonethrough, or don't have that
recovery From the trauma thatwe've gone through, it is
suppressed within us, right, andsometimes you can become

(07:53):
immobile Based on the traumasthat you've spent, you've gone
through, and that stress willstore up in your body and even
make you even less Mobile, likeless active, less, even even
less willing to engage.
Inactivity, whether it bephysically, mentally,
emotionally or spiritually.
Right.
The book the body keeps thescore details how trauma gets

(08:13):
trapped in our bodies and howit's imperative is actually
imperative To your recovery tostay active.
There is this another termcalled the golden hour, and it's
actually the time.
It's the time after a specifictraumatic event has happened.
That time frame, there's aspecific time frame in which you
must become actively engaged inyour recovery physically,

(08:37):
emotionally and mentallyactively engaged in order to
combat and recover from thatatrap traumatic experience or
the trauma will stay trapped inyour body and Again, in order to
release that stress from thenervous system then bring back
balance to the body, you have tophysically move, you have to
physically be active, and one ofthe things that my own

(09:01):
Trauma-informed therapist has medoing In order to combat and to
release the traumaticexperiences that I've held on to
for years in my body isMovement, whether it be
stretching, yoga, meditation, you know anything to act to get
my body active Actually helps tobring back balance and

(09:23):
connection mind, body and soul.
And so it is important, evenfor those of us, and especially
for those of us who haveexperienced traumatic events in
our life, to become active.
It's even that much moreimportant because, again, once
it gets stuck in your body, it'sin your members right, it's in
your mind, it's in yoursubconscious and you start to

(09:44):
become restricted by what youhave experienced, especially for
those of us who suffer frompost-traumatic stress disorder.
Right, and so it is so relativeto our well-being.
The Bible says I wish it wereall things, that you would
prosper and be in good health, even as your soul prospers and
we don't sometimes realize thatthat means your well-being,

(10:06):
right Even as you becomementally, physically,
spiritually, emotionally well.
I wish that you would prosperin that, and and so we have to
keep using our bodies, our minds, our creativity, our time
wisely, so that we don't losewhat God is giving us to use to

(10:26):
glorify Him and to enrich ourown lives.
Let's discuss how the term useit or lose it applies even to
the mind, to the brain, to thecreativity, to the talents that
you're given, you know, because, again, anything that you don't
use can atrophy, can shrink, candissipate, can disappear, can
dissolve.
Now, when our, when our, nowwhen our brains aren't

(10:48):
stimulated, when we are activelyusing our brain, whether it be
in the form of lifelong learning, whether it be in the form of
creativity, volunteering,engaging in creative hobbies
when our, when our brains aren'tstimulated, we actually run the
risk of cognitive decline in inthe form of reduced thinking

(11:11):
skills, memory and creativity.
You know we actually run thatrisk of those, those functions
of decline.
You remember I said in thebeginning that use of the term
use it or lose it basicallyimplies that whatever you are
not regularly regularly using, whatever function you are not
regularly using, you will runthe risk of losing.

(11:33):
And so, again, that applieseven to the mind, to the brain,
to the creativity, to thetalents, to the gifts that we
have been giving.
We need to constantly be usingthem, firstly to glorify God,
and then for the benefits ofothers, and then also to enrich
our own lives, right, to have asense of purpose.
I'm reminded, actually, of astory in the Bible, because here

(11:54):
we go, right, y'all know I'mgoing to apply scripture.
But I'm reminded of a story inthe Bible called the parable of
the sword, or the parable of thetalents.
Right, and the parabledescribes a man.
It says the kingdom of heavenis like a man who is going on a
long journey and before he goesto the parts for this long

(12:15):
journey, he calls his servants.
He calls three servants and hegives them talents.
Right, and to one servant hegave five talents.
To another servant he gave twotalents.
And to another servant he gaveone talent.
Now the Bible records it likethis.
It says that the to the one hegave five talents, he doubled

(12:37):
his talents, he invested them,he used them and gained five
more, so that he now had 10talents.
To the one he gave, two talentsdoubled he did the same thing,
invested them, used them, hegained two more talents and so
now he had four talents.
But the Bible says to the onethat he gave the one talent to,
he was afraid right, and so hehid his talent, he buried his

(13:00):
talent in the earth.
Then the man who went on thislong journey comes back to
return, basically, and he wantsto give an account.
He wants them to give anaccount as to what they've done
with their talents, with theircreativity, with their brain,
with their potential right.
And again to the one he gavethe five talents to, he said,

(13:20):
master, I've traded them, whichbasically means I invested in
them and I gained five more.
And in the the, the man's replyto the servant is well done, my
good and faithful servant.
You've been faithful over a few.
I'm going to make you rulerover much right.
And so the man also says thisto the servant to which he's

(13:40):
given two talents, to, whodoubled his talents as well, to
four talents, he says well done,my good and faithful servant.
You've been sorry, you've beenfaithful over a little.
I'm going to make you rulerover much, I know, I was
checking it up.
Now to the one he gave the onetalent to, who didn't do
anything with it, right, wholiterally wasted his talent, who
buried his talent, who hid histalent.

(14:01):
To that one, he calls himwicked and lazy.
And now, when I first read this, I was like dang Jesus, wicked
and lazy, like he.
The man said he was afraid, butregardless of the reason, why,
see, there's that trauma, thereis that fear, there is that that
interpretation.
But to the one he gave the onetalent to, who basically hid it,

(14:26):
who buried it and didn't doanything with this, with his
talent, with his creativity, with his mind right, with his
potential, to that one, then theman says you wicked and lazy
servant.
He calls him wicked and lazyand I was like dang, that's kind
of harsh, you have to call himwicked and lazy.
But he says, basically, youdidn't do anything with what I

(14:47):
gave you.
And he said to him furthermore, since you didn't do anything
with what I gave you, what youdo have, will be taken away from
you and given to the one whohas 10 talents, and so that's a
classic example of what youdon't use, you will lose.
It's twofold, right?
It just goes to show you that, even in your gifting, even in

(15:09):
your gifting, whatever yourgifting is, whatever the measure
it is that God has given you,you need to be actively using it
, like again, and whether it'sthrough lifelong learning,
whether it is through sharpeningyour skills, right Whether it
is maintaining creative hobbiesand creative outlets writing and
dance, and things that you findnatural affinities for, they,

(15:34):
in most cases, are linked toyour gifts and your talents, and
so that parable reminds me on aspiritual aspect as well as
natural.
It basically reinstates whatyou don't use, what you're going
to lose, right?
I don't want God to come back,I don't want to go before the
Lord, and he said to me youwicked and lazy servant, I don't

(15:57):
want him to say that to me.
You didn't use what I gave you,and so now, not only are you
going to lose it, right, but youwill have to bear with the fact
that you didn't even reach yourpotential, that you did nothing
with where I gave, like I can'tdeal with that.
I can't deal with that shame.
And so that's also Proof that weneed to be again reading,

(16:20):
learning a new skill, engagingin creative hobbies.
We need to be appreciative ofour gifts and talents and
utilizing them, first of all toglorify God, to benefit others,
and then again for our ownenrichment.
Right, because you don't wantto you, you don't want to lose
what you've been given.
The body says that everybodyhas been given, been given a
measure, right, and you knowjust like in this parable, some

(16:43):
was, were given more than others.
But whatever you have beengiven you need to be using.
And this Message hits home forme because, like I said, I'm
struggling with consistency inthe podcast, life's life thing,
discouragement, you know, whatever you know, just things
happening with me personally.
It's this message, as well asthat scripture, kind of soars me

(17:04):
up to realize like, listen, youcan't be around here wasting
time.
You can't be around herewasting your gift.
You can't be around herewasting potential.
Do you want God to come backand say what did you do with
what I gave you right?
And do you want God to reallycome back and call you wicked
and lazy.
He's not gonna want to hearyour excuses.
He's not gonna want to hear youwere discouraged.
You were afraid because the manhad a valid point.
He said I was afraid.

(17:24):
He said I knew that you were aman that reaped where you did
not.
So basically, he knew that thislandowner will require for him
what he did not actually planright.
But regardless of the reasonwhy he didn't use his gifts, he
still didn't use his gift.
And the Bible says that this manwas referred, was considered
wicked and lazy.
I don't want that for me.

(17:45):
I don't want that for me.
I can't deal with God callingme wicked and lazy, like, listen
, you can call me anything else, but not wicked.
I Don't want to be wicked,right?
Not lazy.
Lord, please don't let me belazy.
But that means again, use whatyou have.
Use it to the best of yourability, use it to your
God-given potential.
Use it.

(18:06):
And when you feel like youcan't use it, when you feel
discouraged, when you feel likeyou know what God I don't know
this working out, just don'tfeel like it's using anything.
Do what you can and ask God forthe strength to do, to help you
, to do what you can to help youto rise to the occasion because
you want to do something, youwant to show effort, you want to
do something with what God isgiving you.
Now, another area that I want toSee how the term you through

(18:30):
moves that applies to is time.
We know that life is short, butsometimes we don't really take
into consideration the way thatwe use our time or misuse our
time.
I know in recent years I havebecome more aware of my time,
how I use it, how much time Ihave.
You know what I have to do withmy time, how I can do more with

(18:55):
my time.
Like I've become a little bit,not obsessive, but just a little
bit more clear on how I use mytime, even daily, right, like,
okay, this particular point orthe start of the day, I'm gonna
do my workout, I'm gonna do mymeditation, I'm going to do my
journaling, you know, whateverit is, I want to like to do that
in the morning, you know, andin the afternoon you maybe work

(19:16):
on something creatively and then, you know, maybe in the evening
, when the girls come home, Ilike to start kind of getting
ready for dinner and things likethat.
But I try to compartmentalizemy activities based on, you know
, the time that I have in theday to perform them.
And it's become, it's made memore aware of the time that I

(19:36):
have, right, it's made me moreappreciative of the time I have.
But again, when we think aboutthe term, you know, use it or
lose it.
We don't often, you know, consider that when it comes to
time, because sometimes we'reunder the misconception that we
have more time than we do.
We don't know.
The Bible says no one knowsthat they know the hour that not

(19:56):
only will Jesus return, but wedon't even know much, how much
time we have In the earth to dowhat God has called us to do, or
to even be here, right?
I believe that everyone'spurpose and Place on this earth
is time-sensitive.
Everybody's, your purpose andyour place on the earth is

(20:17):
time-sensitive.
That means that there is a timeframe in which God has a lot
for you to get done what youwere created to do right, who
you were created to affect.
What you were created to beright, whose lives you were
created to change.
And when we think about thatterm, use it or lose it.
Again, sometimes we don't evenconsider that when it comes to

(20:40):
time.
But you can literally use timebecause you can waste time.
I think about the time I wasted, whether it be to wrong
relationships, in cycles, incircles, just in wrong mindsets
and thinking patterns.

(21:01):
There was time in my life thatI can't get back right.
I think about the time that Ilost to trauma, some of the
events and experiences that Ihave gone through, where I lost
blocks of time, like even when Iconsider one of the diagnoses
that I have post-traumaticstress disorder.
For a lot of people who sufferfrom that feel stuck in time or

(21:23):
feel like time is moving in slowmotion, when the reality of it
is time is consistently moving.
You aren't right, because yourmind is still in that place
where you were traumatized andwe don't often take that in
consideration.
Whether you've been affected bytrauma or not, you still should

(21:45):
be more cognizant of how youuse your time.
Now I'm not saying that weshould walk around in fear that
at any given moment our timecould run out, but I think that
we should be more appreciative, more honoring.
We should treat our time moresecretly than we do, because we
don't know how much time we haveand we can't really afford to

(22:07):
lose, to waste time right, wecan't even afford that.
Time is the only currency thatyou can't make back up, like, if
you lose money, you can makemoney right, you can make money
again.
You can go out there, work ajob or do whatever you gotta do
to sell something.
You can make that money back, but you cannot.
There's no time stored, there'snowhere where you can say, hey,

(22:28):
give me some more time.
I remember that movie.
There was actually a moviecalled Out of Time where they
were actually fictitiously ableto buy more time, but the
reality of it is we cannot buymore time.
There's nowhere we can get moretime.
No matter who you are, howwealthy you are, how affluent
you are, how influential you are, you cannot obtain more time

(22:50):
than you have, than what hasalready been allotted for you.
So we have to be mindful ofthat, not to use and waste our
time, because when we don't useour time wisely, we definitely
lose it wastefully.
Like the misuse of time also isa product of distraction and
procrastination.
Like when you think about thetimes where you could have been

(23:12):
and should have been doing thisor that and you were distracted,
for whatever the reason wasright, by life or circumstances
or situations, whatever the casemay be, or times where you were
procrastinating, whether it bebecause of fear or lack of
support or just feeling like youcouldn't do it.
You may have procrastinated, but that's still a loss of time,

(23:34):
right?
It is said that procrastinationis the arrogant assumption that
God will give you more timetomorrow to do what you could
have done today.
The arrogant assumption thatGod will give you, or owes you,
more time to do tomorrow whatyou could have done today.

(23:56):
Wow, don't let me arrogantlyassume that I have more time to
do tomorrow what I could dotoday.
Don't let me put off fortomorrow what can be done today.
But distraction andprocrastination and
mismanagement of time.
It actually increases stress, anxiety and it debilitates the

(24:22):
ability to have a work-lifebalance.
Like you can't even maintainbalance.
Right, and I'm reminded againof another scripture in the
Bible, and I like this.
Why I love the Bible?
Because the Bible says that Godhas given you everything that
you need as it pertains to lifeand godliness.
But what I love about the Bibleis there is nothing that you

(24:42):
can experience, that you canface, that you can go through,
where you can't find a remedy, asolution for in the Bible.
There's a scripture in the Bibleand I'm not gonna quote the
address because I'm not exactlysure, but you can Google it the
scripture in the Bible thattalks about the sons of Izzikar.
And the Bible says that thesons of Izzikar were aware of
the times that they lived in andthey behaved, they operated,

(25:06):
they lived their lives in such away because of this cognizance
right, because of the cognizanceof the times that they were
living in.
Psalms 90 and 12 says so teachus to number our days so that we
may apply our hearts to wisdom.
That basically means teach usto respect the time that you
have given us so that we use itwisely, because if we don't use

(25:31):
wisely, we will lose wastefully.
And I have become so much moreadamant about my time.
I don't want people wasting mytime.
I don't wanna be a waste oftime myself.
I like to set I've gotten ahead, but where I've set these
little alarms like I'm gonnachill for this amount of time,

(25:51):
right, I'm gonna relax for them.
I like to play this littleTetris game on my phone and I'm
like, okay, eve, I'm gonna givemyself, you know, 15, 15, 20
minutes to play this game andthen after that we're gonna go
do something creative, or afterthat we're gonna move on to the
next task.
But I like to compartmentalizemy time because I like to feel
like I'm getting the most I canout of the time that I have,
instead of you look up andyou're like dad, I don't waste
three, four hours doing nothing.

(26:12):
Right, that you cannot get back.
And so, again, we have to bemindful of that.
What you don't use, you willlose.
Even when it comes to time LikeI don't think we are that we
spend enough time with thatrealization.
There is no time store.
You can go to the bank and getmore money, right, if you have

(26:35):
it in there, you can earn moremoney right.
You can go big, buy moreclothes, you can get cars, you
can do all of these things right, where there's like some sort
of trade and barter system.
You give me the money, I'llgive you the, the service, the
quality or the good right.
But you cannot purchase timeand you can't do anything to
earn it.
And in most cases, whateveryou're doing, whether it's waste

(27:00):
, whether it's procrastinating,whether it's even when you're
doing nothing, you're doingsomething.
You're wasting time becauseeven when you're not doing
anything, you're still usingthat time to do nothing, right?
So think about that when you're, when you have those periods
where you are doing nothing, you're using time to do nothing,
and I'm not saying you got tobe busy all the time.

(27:20):
I use this time that you shouldhave for stillness, for
meditation, for rest, right.
All of that is important Toyour health and your well-being.
But we have to start to considerthose things like how did I use
my time today?
How am I using my time in thismoment?
How will I use my time tomorrow?
Right?
Let me be so appreciative ofthe time that I have, even

(27:42):
though I may not understand theCommunitative time that I have,
that I might not know the totaltime that I have, right, like
I'm always concerned about, well, how much time is this gonna
take me, right, and how muchtime do I have to do this?
I may not be aware of how muchtime I have to physically be
alive, to be here on earth, butI am aware that in any given day
, there's 24 hours in the day,and if the Lord allows me to see

(28:06):
those 24 hours, then I betterget a jumpstart on how I use
them so I won't lose them right?
It's important, it's so veryImportant how we use our time.
So, guys, let's be mindful,right.
Let's take into deeperconsideration that term use it

(28:26):
or lose it.
Let's understand that thisapplies to every area of our
life.
Again, it can apply to ourbodies, right.
It can apply to our brains, toour mind, to our creativity, to
the gifts and talents that Godhas given us right.
It can also apply to the waythat we use our time, our energy
, how it is spent.

(28:47):
And Knowing that the fact thatif we don't use it wisely, we
will lose it foolishly, shouldspark an indignation, a
righteous indignation, to makeourselves be more of Stewards,
right.
One of my prayers is that Isteward well what God has given
me, and sometimes we think ofstewardship as just being, you

(29:10):
know, a good steward of yourmoney, right, being a good
financier, taking care of yourmoney, paying your bills on time
, budgeting wisely.
But we need to be good stewardsof our bodies, the temple of
the living God.
We need to be good stewards ofthe brains, the minds, the
intellect that God has given uswith, again, lifelong learning,
challenging ourselves, doingdifferent things that keep us

(29:31):
sharp in our minds.
We need to be cognizant, again,of the way that we use our time
and how to make sure that we'remaking the most or getting the
most out Of our time and notjust wasting it.
Right, time is winding up all.
It's not like time is standingstill.
We head into the weekend.
Friday morning comes, you mighttake a nap and wake up, and now

(29:51):
it's Monday morning, right?
So we just need to be mindfulof all of these things.
We need to take considerationthat what we don't use wisely,
we will lose wastefully.
That wraps up today's episode.
I pray that you got somethingout of it, I pray that you were
encouraged and I pray thatthere's a fire, a new fire being
lit under you that Encouragesyou, that strengthens you, that

(30:13):
motivates you to take bettercare of all of the things we
mentioned your body, your soulis your mind, your time, your
money, everything that God hasgiven you.
I pray that you will have theMindset, the strength they're
where with all to use it or,unfortunately, lose it.
