Welcome to Behind the Badge!
On Jan. 13, 1972, in Marietta, Georgia, nine-year-old Deborah (Debbie) Lynn Randall was abducted from a laundromat across the street from her home, raped, and killed. Not long after, Deborah's case went cold and the evidence was lost.
42 years later in 2014, Detective Dawes, lead investigator at the Cobb County Cold Case Unit, agreed to take a look at her case. The team was able to locate the lost evidence and test it for DNA. In 2015, the perpetrator's complete DNA profile was entered into CODIS, but there wasn't a match.
It took another 8 years for Deborah's killer to be identified. Listen to Every Case Is Solvable- Deborah Lynn Randall to find out how, after 51 years, this case was finally solved.
