In Michigan, 13-year-old Lauryn Licari received thousands of cruel and threatening texts that ruined her friendships and reputation. For two years she believed she was being stalked by classmates or strangers.
The truth was far more shocking. The stalker was her own mother, Kendra Licari, a respected coach and so-called “cool mom” who tormented her daughter while framing other kids.
Kendra pled guilty to cyberstalking minors in 2023 and was sentenced to 19 months in prison. Netflix’s new documentary Unknown Number brings this chilling case back into the spotlight and asks the haunting question: how could a mother become her child’s worst nightmare?
