Our parents always taught us the importance of being punctual, so when my brother is late to meet us for dinner, we know something is up. This is the story.

(00:07):
Hi, this is Debbie. Thanks so much for listening to
my podcast, Deb's Memorable Moments, where you'll hear
original short stories that eachtell a memory of mine to the
best of my recollection. I wrote them all.
I read them all. I live them all.
Let's get started. My brother's in town for a

(00:30):
business trip, and he's supposedto meet us at 5:00 for dinner.
Except he isn't here. This is the story, I call it.
Where are you? Here we go.
Where are you? One of the many responsible

(00:51):
habits our parents taught us when we were growing up was the
importance of punctuality. You should always be on time,
our parents said, and if you aregoing to be late, you should
always call and let the person waiting for you know.
So my husband and I never have to worry that my brother won't

(01:11):
be at the airport to pick us up when we land.
And on the flip side, he never has to worry when he and my
sister-in-law come to see us. My husband, my mom, her
boyfriend, and I are all sittingat a table for five at the
restaurant. My brother's in town for a
business trip and has time to have dinner with us before he

(01:33):
heads home. It's a national chain restaurant
and they don't take reservations, so we decide to
eat early so we don't have to wait for a table.
My brother's supposed to meet ushere at 5:00.
It's approximately 2 minutes after 5 when my mom says I think
you should call him, he should be here by now.

(01:55):
I answer. Let's give him a little more
time, the meeting's over an houraway and traffic could be bad.
OK? She replies with a look of
concern on her face. My mom has become a bit more
anxious these past few years, but I have to admit that I too
begin to worry As it approaches 515, I call him.

(02:19):
Hey, he says. Hi, I reply.
Where are you? Are you almost here?
What do you mean? He answers.
I mean, where are you? Are you almost here?
I am here at the restaurant. I'm sitting at a table for five
waiting for you. Really.
We're sitting at a table for five waiting for you.

(02:42):
I stand up and look around. I don't see you, I say and then
confirm with him that we are indeed at the same restaurant.
Stand up so I can see you. I am standing up, he says.
Do you see the Hostess in the red shirt by the door?
I ask. Yes, he replies.
Walk towards her. We both start walking towards

(03:04):
the door and eventually see eachother standing there with our
phones. There you are.
I say and I walk over to him to give him a hug.
We both then go to the Hostess to tell her what happened and
that he will be leaving his table for five for hours.
After he gives hugs to everyone else, he sits down.

(03:26):
When did you get here? Our mom asks.
A few minutes before 5, he answers you a few minutes before
5. We all look at each other.
How could we have missed you? I ask.
I don't know, He answers. Well, we're together now.
Our mom says, let's order. I have to say that I still find

(03:51):
this story humorous and I hope that you do too.

next to me in psychology invitesme to play racquetball with him.

Are You A Charlotte?

Are You A Charlotte?

In 1997, actress Kristin Davis’ life was forever changed when she took on the role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City. As we watched Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte navigate relationships in NYC, the show helped push once unacceptable conversation topics out of the shadows and altered the narrative around women and sex. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today. "Are you a Charlotte?" is much more than just rewatching this beloved show, it brings the past and the present together as we talk with heart, humor and of course some optimism.
