During this episode we talk to Jarod Lewis of the NY City Ballet about City Ballet’s upcoming season. Jared runs through the upcoming 2024-2025 NYC Ballet season and the projects that he will be working on including Alexei Ratmanski’s world premier ballet February 2025. This ballet will be the first brand new tutu ballet that will be designed since Barbara Karinska designed for NYC Ballet.
Each year City Ballet rebuilds several costumes for Nutcracker. This year they will rebuild one pink and one green sugar plum, one dew drop, and marzipan costumes.
Jarod walks us through reconstructing Errante (formerly titled Tzigane) set to be on stage in spring (May 14-24) 2025. We hope that you enjoy hearing about the documentation process-building the costume “bibles' ', as well as the process of sourcing materials and building costumes. The hosts of Tutu Artists’ Studio found that much of what this larger professional shop does transitions well to us as independent costumers.

CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist
It’s 1996 in rural North Carolina, and an oddball crew makes history when they pull off America’s third largest cash heist. But it’s all downhill from there. Join host Johnny Knoxville as he unspools a wild and woolly tale about a group of regular ‘ol folks who risked it all for a chance at a better life. CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist answers the question: what would you do with 17.3 million dollars? The answer includes diamond rings, mansions, velvet Elvis paintings, plus a run for the border, murder-for-hire-plots, and FBI busts.
