live your best life through biblical inspiration and through connecting with
Jesus in meditative worship. As we regularly meet with Him in worship,
that's how we're a way that we can jump-start our transformation because as
we gaze on Him, we have a better understanding of who He is and who we

are in Him. So this is how it's gonna work. We're going to have just a short
devo and then we're gonna dive into some about 12 or so minutes of meditative
worship using Scripture as our guide and we will come face to face with Jesus and
He'll be able to do what He needs to do in our lives. 12 minutes of meditating

on a good God has been shown to change our neural pathways, actually to form new
healthy neural pathways in our brain. They used to not think that was possible
but now they know it is and here's what's so cool. God is already in the
business of transforming us to become in the image of His Son but when we do this

it's like accelerating it or getting a jump-start so He can do His work in us
even faster and we can experience that transformation that we're longing for as

on any upcoming videos. Alright let's dive in. Let's say that God came to you in a

dream and in that dream He said you can ask me any one thing that you want and
I'll grant it to you. That would be so amazing. That's actually what happened to
Solomon. He came to Solomon and said Solomon you can ask me any one thing and
Solomon very wisely said wisdom. That's what I'd like more than anything is

wisdom. Well what would your one thing be? It's interesting because when we dream
we don't usually get to think of what we would do. It just comes out of the heart
right? So maybe you've always wanted to get married or you are just tired of
dealing with all the money issues and you say if I could just be wealthy that

would be my one thing or if I could just have that home I've always wanted or if I
could reconcile with this person if if I knew that my kids would walk with the
Lord what is your one thing? Well David, King David, who's actually Solomon's
father says this and this is in Psalm 27 in verse 4. David says one thing I have

asked from the Lord that I shall seek that I may dwell in the house of the
Lord all the days of my life to behold the beauty of the Lord and to meditate
in his temple. You know that's what we're gonna be doing right? Each and every time
we're gonna be meditating on the Lord as we dwell in his house but to think that

that was David's one thing and it's so interesting because God says of David
that he was a man after his own heart. He knew that his heart was after God and
God says this actually in 2nd Chronicles 16 9 he says for I search to and

fro throughout the whole earth that I would strongly that I would strongly
support those whose hearts are fully mine. I want God to strongly support me
and I imagine you do too. I mean think about that this is the creator of the
world strongly supporting what it is you want to do. Well that's crazy so we just

need to align ourselves with God right? Well look what happened to King David in
in making that his goal. Well he was anointed King of Israel at the ripe
young age of 15 but clearly God knew he was not ready to take over the kingship
so he had to wait his life a hundred percent his 15 another 15 years it
(04:22):
wasn't until he was 30 years old that he actually became King of Israel and
imagine in that time how much he must have doubted the word that he received
the anointing that he received from Samuel the prophet that he would one day
be King of Israel. What promise has God told you? What promise have you been
(04:43):
clinging to that you know God has told you he wants for you but you haven't
seen it and maybe you're starting to lose hope. I get it it's a really hard
sometimes to go after those things and you're not seeing the reality of it
during that time during those 15 years Saul I mean Saul was persecuting David

so David was experiencing terrible persecution from Saul and he tried to
kill him over and over David was literally running for his life yet he
clung to God and the whole psalm is such a beautiful depiction of trust in the
Lord no matter what happens and in fact for the next couple times after this
we're gonna dive into some other pieces of Psalm 27 so you're not gonna want to

miss out on that I'm so excited I've been meditating on it myself and I've
just been so blessed and how God has been speaking to me through it so real
quick I want you to hear how God strongly supported David what happened
as a result of him seeking the Lord and to dwell in his house as his one thing

so this is the list of things David defeated Israel's number one enemy the
giant Goliath and that was only when he was a teenager with just a slingshot he
went from being a humble shepherd boy to being anointed king of Israel and then
actually taking that role during his kingship he established Jerusalem as the

capital of Israel he also unified all of Israel together God made an everlasting
covenant with David and said that his that the Messiah the hope of the world
would come through David and indeed it did Jesus himself came from the line of
David what an incredible honor and then David left so many of the Psalms for us

to bless us as a depiction of what it looks like to have a heart for God as a
depiction of what it's like to just be raw and real before him the Psalms are
just filled with angst and joy and heartache and repentance and sorrow he
was just real with him you know what that's how we want to come to the Lord

every single time we want to come with just our realness who we are and how
we're feeling at the moment it's okay God can handle it but we want to come to
him with who we are and let him minister to us let him remind us of who he is and
who we are in him so we're gonna do this and I'm so excited for you to go

on this journey with us you might want to grab your Bible and turn to Psalm
27 you can lay down and do this you can walk you can be doing the dishes
whatever it is you want to do but we're gonna just try to take this we're in it
we're gonna take this time we're gonna try to focus on him and specifically in
Psalm 27 verse 4 as we meditate on the Lord

Jesus we're just thankful to be here with you today we give you our
attention we set our gaze on you
and our prayer today our meditation the meditation of our heart is that we would
seek you above everything else just like David did make that the cry of our heart
