Introduced in the first episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation, Jean-Luc Picard is the captain most Star Trek fans would tend to pick as their favorite. From his humble beginnings as the antithesis of James T. Kirk by being more of a diplomatic and authoritative captain, to actually resigning his commission as an Admiral over the Romulan supernova rescue pullout, Jean-Luc Picard has become one quintessential human being.

Of course, Sir Patrick Stewart’s performance as the character cannot be overstated.
