Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's Two Dudes with Attitudes of Wrestling podcasts with Brian
Enjoys Wrestling and m WO And this is our WWE
audition for the week of July eighteen, twenty and twenty five.
And if you have not already, if you just happen
to go on YouTube and see our lovely faces, you
need to hit that subscribe button. If you're just listening
(00:23):
to us, give us a five star review, comment, give
us a follow wherever you're listening to us. I want
you to know that before we hit this to our music.
But Ryan, how are you feeling about this week? I
thought it was a pretty action pack SMCDAL RAW and NXT,
A lot of stuff going on.
Speaker 2 (00:36):
Yeah, we had a crazy week. And not to mention,
we also had a TNA Slammiversary where two WWE superstars participated.
We saw the return of aj Styles to TNA as well.
So yeah, it was a very very action packed week
in the WWE. And yeah, apparently this partnership with TNA
(00:57):
is really taking off. But people say it's one but
we'll get into that.
Speaker 3 (01:01):
We will.
Speaker 1 (01:02):
You know what, hit the music. Two Dudes with Attitudes.
Speaker 4 (01:06):
Let's go the Two Dudes and Attitudes roofless aggressively speaking,
So less dude is we're brand and didn't they hit it?
Speaker 1 (01:14):
Get your attention?
Speaker 4 (01:15):
The fast off brow cans shit, stalk to the and
whether it's the E or so lead the two dudes
with the attitudes of Britnan Hay get the point. Yes,
so on Time of Lackey, listen to the podcast when
they get it happened.
Speaker 1 (01:36):
Yeah, I'm not a numbers guy, that's you, but I
heard that this Time Adversary was like one of their
biggest pay per views ever at least in most recent history,
and it's wild. I don't know if you're gonna save
this in a take later on, but it's that what
we were saving it for.
Speaker 3 (01:50):
We can tell you. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:51):
So it's yeah, like people on the internet, the IWC
because for whatever reason, ww is public at me number
one right now, they can do no right that they're
saying like this is a one side of partnership with
Trick at jc J and being champions does nothing for
TNA because I think they think that they're just gonna
hold the belts forever and never lose them, and they're
just all kind of and then there's other people going like,
well you don't know Ball. If you don't understand that,
(02:14):
this means the WW is buying TNA. I'm like, that
wouldn't make sense either, that's that's not the way it
would go. So everything to people, Yeah, this makes yes.
That's exactly When Chris Jericho held the r OH World
Championship twice, every AW hardcore fan was like, you don't
know Ball, it's because they're trying to get a TV deal,
and both times they were not because I never saw
(02:35):
a TV deal as soon as it's going on the
other way around for WW all of.
Speaker 3 (02:38):
A sudden, it's that's not what they're doing. That doesn't
make any sense.
Speaker 2 (02:42):
When Chris Jericho held the AEW Championship the first time,
it was because they were trying to get a TV deal,
and they actually got one that time.
Speaker 1 (02:50):
They got one.
Speaker 2 (02:51):
Makes the right decision because they the star to have
the title to you know, draw in your audience, so
it made complete sense. So yeah, I and also like,
can we stop saying Slam Aniversaries TNA's biggest show of
the year. It's one of their biggest shows of the year,
but they're they're WrestleMania. I've always thought was bound for
(03:11):
glory and that feeling. Next, that's when they're going to
lose the titles. That's when Trick Williams and j. C.
Jane are going to lose their championships and TNA it's
going to spend this time between July and October regrouping,
banding together to you know, maybe bound for Glory to
win the bring TNA back to glory it's right there,
(03:35):
and win their championships back. But yeah, but no, ww
has got to be buying them, and the partnership is
one sided and it's only benefiting WWE. It's not benefiting
TNA at all.
Speaker 1 (03:46):
Yeah, that makes that makes zero of zero sense. That
would be like us having like you know, I don't
know Santy on our podcast, like we happy for are
like Bully Rare is someone, and there people who are like, dude,
this is only benefiting Bully Ray and Santy, not the two.
Speaker 3 (03:59):
Dude. There's no way this is like, how would it
not benefit us?
Speaker 1 (04:03):
We're the low The people who are on the bottom
benefits having people on top helping you.
Speaker 3 (04:07):
There's no other ways how.
Speaker 2 (04:10):
Yeah, that's how TV works. I mean, yes, like they
you know, we can't really talk about Stephen Colbert anymore
because the show got canceled. But these talk shows, they
bring celebrities on to help them with their ratings. They
bring in the stars to help them get people to
watch their show.
Speaker 1 (04:28):
Podcast.
Speaker 2 (04:29):
I want to see I want to see Tom Hanks
by interviewed. I want to see Jim Carrey. I want
to see George Plooney. So you're going to tune into
that particular show. It makes sense.
Speaker 1 (04:39):
You think Joe Rogan's podcast, and he's so famous, not
just because he talks by himself. No, it's because he
gets huge people on his show who have had legendary
moments with people smoking weed and talking about this.
Speaker 3 (04:48):
And Trump on it. He gets famous for other people.
Speaker 1 (04:51):
That's our thing. We need to get people on this
damn podcast, imagine. But yeah, but that's what I mean,
you get people. You're right, it's not it doesn't help.
So WW would BWW right now now, if TNA wasn't
around anymore, they would still be doing the same thing. Honestly,
was still beginning the same ratings. It's not benefiting them
at all. Sorry, guys, it just it's a fact. I know,
ball all right, you ready, let's get into SmackDown dude,
(05:13):
these sayings now by kids is crazy, and then I
hear adults saying it. In my mind, you know how many.
Speaker 3 (05:17):
People I've seen like yeah, oh gosh.
Speaker 1 (05:19):
And if you're a creator, yeah, if you're a creator,
you're probably over eighteen. Most people I look like at
least eighteen to thirty. Right, if you're saying you don't
know ball, you're you're too old.
Speaker 3 (05:28):
Like, let's let's that's and that's a let's stop, let's.
Speaker 1 (05:31):
Stop skibbitty toilet. All right, let's get into it. Let's
start off with the huge opening. SmackDown opens up with
the car crash. One poor Solo so CoA looks like
he was not injured at all. One of the tongue
does well, I forgot which one, but he had like
the word he was like bleeding. Oh tell yeah, he
was like destroyed. Yeah, the low yeah, the tallow one
(05:52):
was fine. Yeah, but they got in a car crash
and one Jacob Onto got arrested. Pretty funny saying with
two where he was like pole gass cops.
Speaker 3 (05:59):
Like he didn't get no.
Speaker 1 (06:00):
He made stone cold look like dang, I wouldn't have
said that, Like he had no fear at all.
Speaker 3 (06:04):
They arrested him, they bring him back. Basically he was innocent.
Speaker 1 (06:09):
And Adam Pierce says, you want to lock up Jacob Fatu.
You got your witch because you locked up in a
still cage match for the US title at SummerSlam.
Speaker 3 (06:19):
I'm super stoked.
Speaker 1 (06:20):
I think this Solo has You got to really really
think about Solo, right, he was an NXT, never got
a push. He was he kind of got like the
North American title opportunity, but he never got like a push.
Then all of a sudden, they were just like, yo,
you're in the bloodline. And then he didn't talk for
like a year. He was like the only guy not
getting Wrestledmania matches. They just completely ignored him. Then Roman
(06:43):
loses the belt two years after that, and then Solo
becomes the tribal chief and everyone crapped on him. Your
clothes are too baggy. You look at Gojy Simpson with
the gloves. What are you doing?
Speaker 3 (06:53):
You're such a joke.
Speaker 1 (06:54):
And he overcame that, and then he kind of helped
make Jacob Fato and now this dude is cutting comedic
promo having Hella good matches, like everyone sleeps on this bloodline,
Like oh, they're just giving every someone in the block
a chance. They're not talented. I have yet to see
one untalented member of the Bloodline. I'll go all the
way to Rakishi, homie. He was entertaining talent, Like this
(07:16):
bloodline is around for a It's like saying Charlotte Flair
is only Charlotte Flair because a Rick, Like, no, the
girl's got talent, Like these people aren't. Just like, if
you want to look up people who didn't have talent
with people's kids like Porak Bishop's kid, Rick Flair's kid,
like they didn't really have it, you know what I mean,
they didn't stick around the stick around the business. You
gotta have it. Solo Sakoa is that dude, And I'm
(07:36):
really really excited for him and Jacob Fatto. I think
is probably gonna win. We'll see how it gets further.
But that's a pretty good match, Am I wrong? And
the whole segment was good. Yeah, And although getting to
the end hilarious.
Speaker 2 (07:48):
Yeah, and him like, you know, trying to ask Cody
Rhodes for help over the people, it's just you know,
Cody Man, that was classic, Yeah, funny stuff. I mean,
you have to hand it to Solo like you said,
I mean, he went from being the silent enforcer to
you know, the devious badass who spiked John Cena twelve times.
Speaker 1 (08:09):
I think it was oh, I remember that.
Speaker 2 (08:11):
John Cena's vocal cords. Then he then he got obliterated
on the microphone by John Cena. And then he like
he went through his trials and tribulations, he helped Roman reigns,
and then he then, like you said, he formed this
Timu bloodline. It was a bad version of the bloodline,
and cares about this version of the bloodline. They lost
at war Games. He lost the Roman reigns on the
(08:32):
first raw and lost his tribal chief Moniker. So but
me and Solo is he is him? Like he is awesome.
He has been hilarious. This feud with Jacob Battou has
really reinvigorated Solo Soca and I want him to hang
on to this US championship for as long as he
can because he is entertaining the fudge out of me.
(08:54):
I think he's great. I think it's making a star
out of Jacob. I think it's maken the other tonguas,
Talatonga and Tongala look good when Toma Tonga comes back,
He's gonna look strong as well, which I think he
might be the factor, the X factor in this match.
I think he might return and maybe help Solo instead
of helping Jacob because the last time we were tag
(09:14):
team champions, it was Toma Tonga and Jacob Fatou. So
I think he's gonna turn on Jacob and join Solo.
But we'll get to predictions next week. But everything about
Solo Sokola right now is money, and I think they
need to keep everything that they're doing going for sure,
because he is he is killing it.
Speaker 1 (09:33):
He is he is, and Jacob Vartuo is killing it.
So I think is gonna win. But I would love
to see, you know, Tomatonga come back and help him
with Tama, right because he was a fun one.
Speaker 3 (09:43):
He was he was.
Speaker 1 (09:46):
He was, he was the fun one. So I'd like
to see him come back, and I think he might.
But there's a lot of options going on in that match,
so either way, I think we win.
Speaker 2 (09:54):
Jimmy turns. I could see Jimmy turning and yeah.
Speaker 3 (09:59):
But I think I think we're getting Jimmy and j
back together again. But I could be wrong.
Speaker 1 (10:03):
I do think that's where it's going, but we'll see.
I don't think they have a direction for either USO
right now, obviously, because we'll get into that with Jay
and Roman later. But all right, we had a number
one contenders tag team match. I'll let you talk about it,
but it was like, what was the four tag teams?
I believe, and they were all vying to go up
against the big all bad Wyatt Six. Andrade and Ray
(10:25):
Phoenix win that match. It was a fun, fun match.
But what did you think and how do you feel
about Andrade and Ray Phoenix being next.
Speaker 3 (10:32):
Up for the Wyatt six?
Speaker 1 (10:34):
Was I right? Was the four teams?
Speaker 3 (10:36):
It was right?
Speaker 2 (10:36):
Yeah, it was. It was Andrada and Phoenix versus DIY
MotorCity machine Guns in Praxium. I feel like this kind
of came out of nowhere, you know, the Wayatt six
have been feuding with DIY, They've been feuding with the
MotorCity machine Guns over the last couple of months. They
(10:57):
beat the Street Profacers recently to win the Tag Team Championship.
So it's been the same five tag teams or so
in the main event tag team picture in SmackDown, So
this feels completely random, But at the same time, I'm
also open to it because it's something a little bit different.
You know, I've been wanting to see what Andrade can
(11:17):
do on SmackDown. I feel like he hasn't really done
much and this kind of puts him and gives him
something to do. And he's getting a title shot now,
so I think this is it's going to be a
good thing for him. The thing that I don't like
is Ray Phoenix. I mean, this guy was hyped up
as you know, the Lucha Bros and him and Penta
and we're gonna when are we gonna get pent In together?
(11:39):
When are we gonna get pent and Ray Phoenix together?
And this is the guy that you know he took
the l at WrestleMania instead of Ray in stereo, He's
the one that's coming. He looked like generic wrestler that
you choose on a video game with the outfit he
had on on Smackdowl with like the T shirt. I
don't know what they're doing with that. Like I don't
know what's going on with Ray Phoenix, but I'm I'm
(12:00):
not feeling it, But I am excited about Andrade. I'll
give this tag team a chance, But I don't see
them winning the tag team titles off of the White Six.
Speaker 3 (12:09):
Oh no, and I agree with you everything.
Speaker 1 (12:10):
Like ray Phoenix, I think he's doing worse now than
he was an AW pens I think doing better, but
Ray Phoenix not so much. But if you're gonna put
him in a tax team, why not just put him
with Pensa. It's not like you're having Penta over here
on Raw, like winning match after match after match. I
obviously this match was set up for the White Six
to get a win, and so that's why they picked
on Drade and ray Phoenix. But I think Praxium would
(12:31):
have been perfectly fine with that as well, Like why
not just have them win?
Speaker 3 (12:34):
At least they're more known.
Speaker 1 (12:36):
I guess you're getting new people out here, or maybe
it's just a Latino thing because over on Raw, the
lw are the number one contenders and that was kind
of random. So I don't know, maybe the whole troops
is racist thing. Maybe he's like not with the Latinos
though I got them out there. But either it was
kind of a weird thing, right because I'm Raw. I
was like, oh, l wo okay, or do we have
a trend going here?
Speaker 3 (12:55):
But yeah, I'm okay with it.
Speaker 1 (12:56):
The match was good though, It's a good match on
Drodia and ravenis bring it.
Speaker 3 (13:01):
I just think I'm more just don't care about the
White Six.
Speaker 1 (13:03):
They cut a promo too, and it was just kind
of like they're gonna they like winning gold, okay.
Speaker 3 (13:08):
Like what are we doing here?
Speaker 1 (13:10):
They're like, this is yeah, right, right, But this was
like the problem with with bray Wyatt, right and as
soon as he won the World Heavyweight Championship, they had
nothing to do with them because they the supernatural stuff
goes away because is the unbeatable is the I mean,
they can't just you know, stack chairs on top of
them and you know, have DQ's and hell in the
cell matches. You gotta do something. So I don't know
(13:30):
what we're going with it. It didn't feel I don't know,
they're like eerie promo in the back too, with the
gold belts on them.
Speaker 3 (13:36):
Didn't they looked off. It was, you know, I don't know.
I mean, that's just me.
Speaker 1 (13:40):
I'll give it a chance. But I think that's why
I'm not really caring or vibing with it at the moment.
But they're trying.
Speaker 2 (13:46):
Yeah, I mean I think at least they are trying.
But I do think the whole tag team division in
general right now on both brands Raw and Stuck Down
is severely lacking strong teams. Yeah, you know the fact
that you had the l WO or American Maid to
choose from versus the day you know, it's like, who
are you gonna choose that? Yeah, nobody cares about American
(14:10):
Maid and the l WO is just is whatever. And
then you know it's the same teams over and over
on the SmackDown side. So at least we're getting a
fresh team in Ray, Phoenix and Andrade, but it also
feels like a completely random pairing and a completely random match.
So you gotta do something with this tag division. But
I don't know what the answer is me.
Speaker 1 (14:29):
Neither on all sides. Yeah, I don't, I don't know.
We also had a little match between one Damian Priest
and Carmelo Hayes, which ended when Alistair Black attacked Damien
Priest and laid them out. I want to hear a
take on this. What do you think are you? What
do you think about Carmelo? What do you think about Priest?
And Alistair Black? Obviously gonna happen at SummerSlam. I'm assuming
they're not putting this on, you know, SmackDown this Friday.
(14:51):
So what do you think about all this and is
it benefiting any of these three men.
Speaker 2 (14:56):
I was happy to see Carmelo Hayes finally get a victory.
Been forever since he's won a match, so I was
excited about that. I'm not really I don't know. I'm
not feeling this Alistair Black Damian Priest feud. I know
a lot of people seem to seem to be enjoying it.
People you know Damian Priest, you know he had he
(15:18):
brought out a great feud or Drew McIntire and him
had a really great feud with one another. Damian Priest
had great stuff against the Judgment Day did great stuff
against Counther. But this feud just feels completely forced. This
feels like, again we talked before about our Truth and
how Our Truth was really the one feuding with Alistair Black,
but then they were like, Okay, our Truth move off
to the side. We're gonna put Damian Priest in this
(15:40):
match instead. And that's the thing that I don't like.
I feel like they've kind of cast our Truth off
to the side and the Sea on Punk John Cena
feud and now they've cast our truth off to the
side for Damian Priest and Alistair Black. But I was
happy to see Carmelo Hayes get a win. But at
the end of the day, I don't think it's really
gonna matter because this feud is about Dami and Pres
(16:03):
and Alistair Black, and that was just a way to
further it even more with the interference. So yeah, yeah,
I'm just not feeling it.
Speaker 1 (16:12):
Yeah, I mean, I'm opposite, I am. But here's the thing, right,
I like that Priest and Carmelo were cooking. By the way,
that was a really really good I know it ended
pretty quickly with Alistair Black, but that was good. Carmelo
got the win no matter how it was, and now
he gets to sneak out and hopefully benefit from that
and then present Alextra Black. The thing I like, Yeah,
it's out of the blue, and I think a lot
(16:32):
of the summer snign matches are because WWE. The one
thing I can agree with with the negatives is that
they are having too much going on. Like the ples,
there's like so many of them. There's not enough time
to build stories. And I know that's like, which I
think is funny that AEW hardcore fans are making fun
of it, because that's their vibe. They don't want stories,
they just want matches. That's kind of what ww's doing.
But I think these two guys are exactly where they
(16:55):
need to be right Alistair Black Damie, you know, he's
that guy who was here before or a long running
NXT champion, had his run an aw has come back
now to try to take over and find himself. Priests
a former champion trying to get back into that title picture.
It's two pretty equal guys going at it, win or lose.
One of them is gonna go ahead and the other
one hopefully we'll go off and get a win somewhere else.
(17:15):
So I'm excited for it and I think the match will
be good. I think these are two of the most
talented dudes and their their rankings, you know, and their
mid tier kind of guys right now, So yeah, man,
sign me up. I think it's gonna be a hell
of a match, and I think at Summerslim they'll show out.
I think it'll be a sleeper match for sure. Who's
gonna win I'm assuming Priest unless he gets the upper
hand on SmackDown this Friday, but I mean, yeah, our
(17:39):
next Friday.
Speaker 2 (17:40):
Yeah, I think it's I mean I kind of had
the same apprehensions about Drew McIntyre and Damian Priest, and
I was completely wrong about that. I thought that few'd
cooked and it went on multiple events and ended up
at I think it's Saturday Night's main event. So maybe
I have the same apprehensions about this as well. But so, yeah,
(18:01):
I think these guys will steal, probably steal the show
and have a great match at SummerSlam. And maybe I'll
change my mind, but right now, I just don't like
all the relegating Carmelo Hayes to the side, relegating our
true to the side, and when we were supposed to
be behind those two guys, of everybody for these two guys.
But I'll see, I'll see how it goes. I'll see
how it plays out.
Speaker 1 (18:22):
I think you just don't like Damian Priest. That was
your common thing right there. I didn't like what so
and so russelled Daimien Priez. Also didn't like when so
and so and then one time Damian Priest was wrestling
for the title.
Speaker 3 (18:32):
I didn't like that shout.
Speaker 2 (18:33):
Out to Damian Price too. Apparently he's dating Lola Ice
and he's going all over to concerts and stuff. But
there's like pictures of him on social media grinding all
over Lola Ice, and it's uh, yeah, she's looking good.
Speaker 1 (18:46):
Dang my man, I think he was married.
Speaker 2 (18:47):
No, there was rumors that he was dating uh Russo's
wife Lana Lana.
Speaker 1 (18:54):
Oh, that's right, he is A that's right he was.
Speaker 2 (18:56):
Yeah. I don't think he is anymore.
Speaker 1 (18:58):
I think they're together. Yeah, yeah, good for priests, man.
Lola's bomb. All right, let's close it out. Made event
time the contract signing between One Johnson and Cody Rhodes.
Johnsena comes out and says, heck to the no, I
sign in no contract.
Speaker 3 (19:14):
I got movie obligations.
Speaker 1 (19:15):
Everyone in TK already approved it, people in WW already
approved it.
Speaker 3 (19:20):
Deuce's son Cody.
Speaker 1 (19:21):
Rose wasn't having it, chased him down, physically assaulted him,
should be put in jail. Then he literally broke I
don't know what it is but breach of something. But
he grabbed his hand of an unconscious man after putting
him through a table, dropping through the table and made
him sign. John Cena and pretty well, like literally said
John Cena. It was kind of weird. I don't know
if it was like already there but made him sign
(19:44):
the contract. We are getting a street fight between John
Cena and Cody Rose, in which people A think Cody
Rose is gonna win because he's turning heel and b
it's a street fight because he's in a movie called
street Fighter.
Speaker 3 (19:57):
Have you heard that one yet?
Speaker 1 (19:58):
Of all these more?
Speaker 2 (19:59):
I heard that one.
Speaker 1 (20:00):
Yeah. Sorry, if you listen to this and you're one
of those people, you're not a bore and you're cool
if you listen to us. But street Fighter because it's
a street fight. You think he's gonna come out dress
as Guile for Summer Slam and do it?
Speaker 3 (20:09):
Liked me?
Speaker 2 (20:11):
I mean that whatever Roman Reigns does is also a
street fight?
Speaker 1 (20:15):
Yeah, because yeah right in he's also yeah, is.
Speaker 2 (20:18):
Becky Lynch coming out and golf attire because of Happy
Gilmore too? Like come on? People?
Speaker 3 (20:23):
Should?
Speaker 1 (20:23):
I know? People are like stop, maybe it's a maybe
it's a street fight because somebody is going to interfere
to help John Cena win. Did you ever think about that?
There's seventy five options, but I'll let you go. What
did you think of this and when should we press charges?
Speaker 2 (20:38):
Yeah, I mean speaking of they arrested the wrong guy,
you know, like Solo was on to something and it
was like, hey, Cody helped me out, and Cody was
like looking all guilty and stuff, like I'm about to
commit a crime myself, son, so you know you're taking
the bait for me. But yeah, I this segment was fine.
(21:00):
I mean, like it's kind of stupid in terms of
logic because John Sena' is like, oh wwe already approved this.
TKO has approved this. Netflix has approved this, even though
they just had Cody Rhodes win the King of the
Ring tournament where he gets a title shot against the
champion that he's choosing at SummerSlam, So it's like, did
they approve it? Or is this mean? But also I
(21:21):
did notice the crowd, the crowd. John Sena wasn't his
normal heel self in that crowd, like on the on
the mic, like yeah he was. You know, the crowd
was booing the fact that he wasn't gonna be at SummerSlam,
and he was like no, no, no, hear me out, Like listen,
I really wanted to be there. I just can't because
of my obligation, Like he wasn't his normal like shut
your mouths when like he wasn't the guy that's going
(21:44):
to ruin wrestling like he's So I've been noticing the
crowd is starting to favor John Seene a little bit
more and they're starting to not like Cody Rhodse as much,
and I feel like that's a little forced. I feel
like they want Cody Rose to be heal, so they're
trying to. They're booing him every chance to get Yeah,
but this this segment was fine. I mean, the match
is gonna I really hope they do something. I mean,
(22:06):
I'm glad it's a street fight at WrestleMania at Summersion,
because I think it's a street fight at Summerstein because
their match at WrestleMania was so panned that they needed
a stipulation to make this match better. Now they have
weapons involved, and now they can anything goes and there's
no rules and they can do whatever the hell they want,
so there is no like, oh that's in this qualification,
(22:26):
Like no, yeah, you can throw all that off to
the side. So I'm more excited about this than I
was Wrestlemingia. I'll say that, So.
Speaker 1 (22:35):
You think Cody's turning heels what you're saying?
Speaker 2 (22:37):
No, No, he's not turning heel.
Speaker 1 (22:40):
No, I just I don't. Yeah, no, what's the point.
Why would you turn the biggest babyface Kurt? Like I said,
I heard someone tell me that seam Punk would take over.
I'm like, but seeam Punk isn't there to be the
baby face the face of WW anymore. He's there to
be a tough guy and baby be a champion, but
not the face. The face is different than a champion, right.
You don't have to be the champion to be the
of the company, right. So, and it won't be Roman
(23:02):
because he's not gonna be around enough. And Roman's not
really putting out the baby face vibe.
Speaker 3 (23:06):
He's just Roman. He's just in like he's just there. Yeah, yeah,
I agree.
Speaker 1 (23:12):
All right, Well, moving on because we got to get
into Raw and there was some Summer Slam stuff going
on there. We opened up with one Gunta versus CM Punk.
They cut a promo and I gotta say, this is
about as mid and MyH as a promo can get.
Neither one did bad, but there was no oof in it.
(23:33):
And I think there's a reason I'll get into that later,
but what did you think of this? Am I missing
out on this? Or was this a banger? And you're
like super excited to see Gunther and see him punk
go at it.
Speaker 2 (23:44):
I am excited to see Gunther and seempunk go at it,
but this promo was terrible. This was awful. This was
this is how you started off Monday Night Raw, and
it was like it was through no fault. I don't
think it was either one of their faults. It was
just like it just they just didn't have it. And
you know what was funny. He was Punk saying that
he wants the World Heavyweight Championship, but then just a
(24:06):
few weeks ago against John Seen and he was like,
I didn't come back to win the championship. I came
back to to make money. You know, just like he's
like constantly contradicting himself. Or he said that he hates
the person he becomes when he holds the championship, so
he doesn't he didn't come back to win the ww title.
He came now, but now he's back to save wrestling,
and now this week he's like, oh, it's been my
(24:26):
dream since I came back to win the world heavyweight title.
I'm going to give it all I have. I will
not tap out. I will not submit. And then gun
Care comes out and cuts a promo. He gets boot
out of the building and then he tols he tapped out,
and then he says that you know, you got these
degenerates to cheer for you for one night, and that
was it. And that's exactly how I felt. I was like,
(24:47):
that's it, that's all he has to say, and he
like walks out and see him Punk's just staring at him.
It was just a very very awkward ending to an
overall awkward promo to open the show. Uh, this was like, really,
the Ferd and Sampunk won the Gauntlet match last week,
so this is their first interaction and that's what you
gave us. Mm hmm. I wasn't wasn't too thrilled.
Speaker 1 (25:12):
Like I said, I think there's a reason why they
didn't go all out on this pro I think there's
reasons why they're not fully given it. They're all We'll
get into that later on, but I agree with you. Yeah,
the Seampunk just stare into is kind of a weird thing.
They got, they got more of them. We'll see what
happens on one in Arrow, but I have a take
later on. But let's get into something that was even
(25:33):
more random and casual. So the New Day are still
mourning their tag team title losses, their backstage having a
beer or whatever, dressed in all black, and in Wat's
Grayson Waller who says, hey, mates, I no longer am
in a town down Under because Austin Theory is injured.
Good writtens? Can I join you? Guys? Let me know
(25:53):
how you feel about that, because that's literally exactly how
it wins.
Speaker 2 (25:57):
Yeah, I mean just in pace Atown down Under, I
guess I mean talk about talk about bumble like we
have two tag teams that Triple H has completely dropped
the ball on. In one segment right there, we had
The New Day, the Heel New Day. Who you know,
I'm digging their morning gimmick. I'm digging there, their dressing
(26:18):
in black stuff. I like what they're doing there. But
you had money right there with the Heel New Day,
with the with the attack on Big Ee and the
great turn that they had and just everything that they'd done,
and you completely squandered it. And then over the last
few months you've been telling the story of Atown down Under,
having tension in the group, having you know, Austin theory
(26:39):
costs Grayson Waller the match. Grayson Waller costs Austin Theory.
These guys are bickering. Are they ever going to get along?
When we've been wondering on this show? When are they
gonna turn? Like? When are we gonna tell this story?
Like we're ready to we gotta we gotta move on.
We gotta like push Austin Theory to the moon. Give
them the singles run. Give it Grayson Waller the singles
run that he deserves, and instead they just do it offscreen.
(27:02):
And that's how they do it on Like you've been
telling the story for months and you just you got
tired of it, and that's it. Like sometimes I'm not
saying this for every story, but sometimes Triple H becomes
Vince McMahon right before our eyes. That's an ultimate Vince
McMahon move, Like I'm tired of this. I don't really
(27:23):
have a direction for it, so we're just gonna announce
it in a segment and that's the end of it.
That was ultimate Vince McMahon, Like I'm bored with this.
We're moving on, And that's how this feels This feels
like a Vince move that Triple H pool.
Speaker 1 (27:35):
So I'm not going to disagree with you at all.
Speaker 3 (27:36):
I fully agree.
Speaker 1 (27:37):
I think it was out of bounds, how why it happened.
But but I don't think it was fumbled. And here's why.
If he's truly injured, yes, did they take it too
long to get to the point, Yes, But I can't
knock Triple H Company for wanting to build a longer
storytelling and so on, because that's what I like anyway.
So they were trying to do storytelling. Then Austin Theory
got injured. Not their fault. He's probably been injured for
(28:00):
a little while because it's been off TV for a minute,
so maybe they just were trying to wait it off.
They couldn't anymore. What are they supposed to do if
Austin Theory is injured. They're just gonna let Grayson Waller
disappear that no one will give two shits about it.
Speaker 3 (28:10):
Now that's a fumble.
Speaker 1 (28:11):
Instead, they're gonna have Grayson Waller obviously turn heel. He's
going to try to join the New Day, will probably
end up joining them, and when Austin Theory is ready,
he will finally come back to get his come uppance,
because you know, Grayson Waller's gonna be talking shit about
him all the way until then here and there. Then
he'll start talking about him more and more than all
of a sudden boom, new look Austin theory, huge baby
(28:32):
face pop taking over will rustle Grayson Waller and get
that come uppance. And I think the story can still
not be fumbled. I still think I think it could
work in the benefit. Sometimes I think injuries can work.
Seth Rolin's injuries right now, if it's not as serious
as it is. When he comes back, the cash in
will be a surprise, whether it's at SummerSlam. Russell made it,
no matter when it's gonna happen, He's not gonna show
(28:53):
up again until he cashes in. That's one hundred percent.
We're not gonna hear anything about it and tell then.
So I mean it's like sometimes injury can work in
the favor, and I think this is a situation where
it can possibly work in the favor because I don't
think people cared now. People care now people will talk
about it because they they're gonna complain and be they're
gonna want to see it more now than they did before,
(29:15):
right because if he wasn't injured, people are just like,
all right, just get it over with now. It's kind
of like, you know, you fumbled. Everyone's everyone on TikTok fumbled.
Fumble fumbleed, they fumbled, they fumbled. But now people are
talking about it, so now it can have an impact
when he does return and gets his come up in
just my.
Speaker 3 (29:30):
Opinion, no, just my wrestling.
Speaker 1 (29:32):
I hope you're right.
Speaker 2 (29:32):
I hope you're right. There is a way to recomfy it.
And if there is, that's the perfect way to do it.
Have him join the New Day and you keep New
Day Heel in the process, you keep Groston Waller heel,
and Austin Theory comes back to a huge baby face
pop because he deserves it. Man, Austin Theory is he doesn't.
You know, we talked about who's the next baby face
of the company. If Cody Rose goes hel Austin Theory
(29:54):
has the has the look, he's got the he's got
a great move set, he's great on the microphone. We
know what his care can do. Let's see what you
can do. I'm not saying he's the face of the
company now, but I think he has potential to be
in the in the near future for sure.
Speaker 3 (30:08):
I agree.
Speaker 1 (30:09):
All right, I'll let you start off with it, my boy,
Dominic Mysterio AJ Styles. They had some funny segments all
the way through Raw ended up with Dominic Mysterio laying
them out.
Speaker 3 (30:19):
Let me hear you. What do you think? What'd you
think about all this?
Speaker 1 (30:22):
And what did the fake injuries?
Speaker 3 (30:24):
Yeah? Go ahead, go ahead?
Speaker 2 (30:25):
Yeah, my favorite opening. My favorite of the segments was
the opening one on Raw where AJ Styles is dressed
up as the ballet and he's like, he's like, I'm
gonna First of all, Dominic Mysterio has Raquel Rodriguez and
and Roxane Perez in the car with him. He has
(30:46):
JD McDonough and Finn Balor in a car with him,
but he's driving. He's the Intercontinental Champion, Like why can't
they have like the hum or something but making him drive?
But I mean they all have gold, so I guess
it's fine. But yeah, it was just neither Like he's driving,
and then he's like, I'm gonna go validate the car,
like look at him taking the leadership role. Like way
(31:06):
to go, dom make sure you're you know, your your
car's paid for your partings paid, Like I love it.
And then aj in the in the valet costume was
just gold hilarious music, you know, hilariously and then he
just throws the keys off to the side and Dominic's like,
oh that's this is borderline harassment. It was just good stuff,
and I'm I'm digging this feud even though like this
(31:30):
they haven't like up until this episode of Raw, these
guys hadn't really touched each other, and now Dominic Masterio
laid him out this episode, and now I can't wait
for SummerSlam and these guys have done this. They built
this match in a different way because of the injuries
and because of the skits and the segments, and now
I'm probably most excited about this match of all the
matches at SummerSlam because of how they've built it.
Speaker 1 (31:52):
So shout out to them. Yeah, I fully agree. I
thought all the segments were hilarious. I thought just him
just being everywhere he was part of, like the Doctor's team,
he was part of, you know, like every play he
was mopping the floors. Oh it's a wood floor. That's
when the New Day came in. He was literally like everywhere.
I thought it was hilarious. The best part about it, though,
is one Dominic Mysterious outsmarted someone. He showed his shoe
(32:14):
leadership by out smarting AJ Styles, which was awesome, and
popping him in that face. I loved it, laying them
out dirty Style magnet fiak. But here's my thing. The injuries,
right trick Williams Slim of Verse, we didn't talk about.
He faked an injury and everyone believed it. All these
guys who do the reaction videos were like, he did broke,
Oh my gosh. And then he you know, then he
(32:36):
ended up rolling in and won the roll up right,
Oh my gosh. And then Dominic Mysterio saying he's injured,
can't go through the doctor. Doctors say we got it,
and then he lays him out. We hit that's something here,
We hit that something here, seth rawlins blah blah blah
blah blah. I'm just saying we're getting a lot of
are are we getting work worked? But nonetheless, Dominic Mysterio
in AJ Styles is gonna be an absolute banger. AJ
(32:58):
is the man, one of the greatest of all time.
Dom is only getting better and better and better. This
ic tonle Mass gonna have a big feel to it.
I'm excited and I do think we're getting to live
Morgan return.
Speaker 3 (33:07):
But that's just me.
Speaker 1 (33:08):
People say I'm crazy. I don't care if she's gonna sling.
I don't care what's gonna happen. I think she's going
to come back, and that's gonna build something else between them,
which I'll get into later. But yeah, man, I really
really I thought this was a fun set. This has
like been the best stuff and it's old. Excuse me,
it's like old school wrestling, like the attitude e where
like they would have the same people like in segments
throughout the entire show that like kind of built up
(33:30):
to a to a situation, you know what I mean.
Which I really really liked all the little skits in
between all the breaks.
Speaker 2 (33:35):
Yeah yeah, And I feel like both Raw and SmackDown
have had those with the Jacob Fatu and Solo car
crash stuff. They had all that throughout the show and
the comedic bits there and then this with AJ and
Dom and the comedic stuff there. It's been great. It's
showed a new side of AJ styles because usually he's
pretty you know, serious about everything, and this is giving
(33:57):
him a little bit of personality, and I like your
pick of out Live Morgan coming back. I could see
a scenario where, you know, we talk about the TNA partnership.
I could see Leon Slater coming out and helping AJ
Styles beat Dominic Mystereo, because that's who Aj Styles put
over at Slay Anniversary. He came out of the Leon
Slater and Moose match. Leon Slater's now the TNA X
(34:20):
Division Champion, and AJ Styles was talking about like, oh,
you remind me of myself when I'm you know that
and he raised his hand at the end. I could
see Leon Slater returning the favor and helping aj win
the Icy title. So but we'll get predictions there next week.
But that's kind of where I see things going. And
really putting the X Division title on a major show
(34:41):
like SummerSlam would really benefit the TNA partnership as well.
Speaker 3 (34:45):
Yeah I would.
Speaker 1 (34:46):
I like that, But we do have a one more
Monday Night and two more Fridays ago, so we'll get
into that pot where a lot of can happen on
those three things, all right, The Man, the myth, the
legend him Roman reigns return.
Speaker 3 (34:57):
His aura is real.
Speaker 1 (34:59):
Like I said, now at that level that he is
that guy the end. Like when he shows up, you're
gonna stop, You're gonna stare, You're gonna get goosebumps, You're
gonna he is the rock, He's stone cold, He's Hogan.
Speaker 3 (35:11):
All those people are done with that vibe.
Speaker 1 (35:12):
He is that guy now though when he is there,
you shut up, you listen, you respect him. He just
just seeing his presence being around him makes the lady
shiver and the men get scared, you know what I mean.
That's where he's at right now. And he came out
and interfered with Seth Rollins, whole promo or whole crew.
Bron Breaker wanted a piece. People made jokes about bron Breaker.
(35:33):
Now they turn we turn on everybody. Now now everyone's
like bron Breaker is a joke. He couldn't carry himself
at all. I think we forget because all these people
live in the right now. That Roman Reigns fumbled his
words and versus John Cena one time embarrassingly and where
people didn't think he'd ever recover. And he messed up
multiple times in promos against big name people. And look
(35:53):
at him now. One of the best to do. It
doesn't even say this is Bron's first time. I thought
he did perfectly fine. He looked vicious, wasn't scared of him,
And I love that. It wasn't Bronson Reid going on him.
It was Bron Breaker like Bron Breaker wanted him, Like
Bron was like yo yo, chill out mate, and Broun's like,
I need him, you know what I mean. He wasn't barking,
he was ready to go at him. They go to layout,
(36:15):
Roman in comes jay U so makes the save. We
can go ahead and spoil it. It's already been confirmed,
but we are getting Jay and Roman versus Bron and
Bronson at SummerSlam and a tag team match. What'd you
think about all of this? And one key thing which
I want to ask you about. We already talked about
the injuries. Paul Hayman made sure to say Roman, we
(36:36):
want you to be the leader of this group because
Seth Rollins is going to be out for a very,
very long time. He's made to say that, but this
has not been said anywhere else this day. Are not
saying shit there, But now all of a sudden he
throws that out wink wink and wants Roman to be
a part of the crew.
Speaker 3 (36:51):
What say you, let's hear it.
Speaker 2 (36:54):
Yeah, that was a strange a strange line because you know,
like it feels like if Seth Rollins is coming back
at SummerSlam or he is, you know, we are getting
worked with this injury and it's not as severe as
everyone's making it out to be. It feels like Paul
Hayman's doing a lot of stuff to break away from
(37:14):
Seth Rollins already. And that was the line, like, hey,
we'll take Roman raign Like of all people, you're going
to bring Roman Reigns into the group, like the one
guy Seth Rollins absolutely hates. So that makes me that
doesn't I Mean, I know it's probably just heal tactics
and scare tactics and all that, and I get that,
but he didn't make me question like maybe Seth Rollins
(37:34):
really is hurt for a long time and he is
going to be out and they do need a new leader.
So I am curious to see where that goes. But
as far as the promo's concerned, I actually thought this
was the best promo I've heard from Roman Reigns since
he turned Babyface. At SummerSlam last year. And to be fair,
he really hasn't cut a lot of deep promos, you know,
(37:56):
other than like the occasional like acknowledge me and you
know famly use and you know we're friends again. Even
on the road to WrestleMania, it was more like Cem
Punk needed the favor. What's the favor? I don't know.
I'll tell you what the favor is next week. And
that was the story. But this was like we got
into what Roman Reigns was up to after WrestleMania forty
(38:17):
when he dropped the title what Roman Reigns has been
doing this year and talking about raising future members of
the Bloodline, talking about what this betrayal of Paul Hayman
did to him. Talking he gas lit Paul Hayman, saying
that you know you you took credit for creating the Bloodline.
That was God's work. It was just great stuff, good life,
great great stuff all around. Called Paul Hayman a dumb
(38:39):
ass on multiple occasions, and it.
Speaker 3 (38:40):
Was just fantom, hilarious, good good stuff.
Speaker 2 (38:44):
Everything about it was great. The thing I liked about
it though, the most, is one of my favorite things
about this whole Bloodline story is that. It's it built stars.
You know Roman Reigns. Yeah, he you know, he took
the reins on this. No, no pun intended there, but
he made bron Breaker look strong. And at the end,
(39:05):
who came out to save Roman Reigns. It was jay
Uso and the crowd was yeating. And even in the
off off the show, Roman rains is yeating as well.
I heard show goes out the air and he even
tweeted that no that was that wasn't me. That was
clearly AI. So he he's not he did it, but
(39:26):
but I mean it was. They played jay USO's music
at the end. Jay Usso got the save on Roman Reigns.
Made jay Uso look strong and made braun Breaker look strong.
Bronson Reid looks strong. Paul Hayman tried to acknowledge Roman
right in the middle of the promo. He looked strong,
set Rollins looks strong because he's gonna We're all waiting
on pins and needles to see when he comes back.
I thought this promo did a lot for so many people,
(39:48):
and it was the best promo that Roman has cut
in a long time.
Speaker 1 (39:53):
Well said it is it was. I even liked that
he brought up Sammy and everyone else on helping him
keep his world.
Speaker 2 (39:58):
Yeah, finally gave credit credit.
Speaker 1 (40:00):
Huh yeah, yeah, it was good stuff. I like your
idea too, or your theory on the fact that it
looks like they're trying to push Steth out more so
than bring them in. But I think it's a ruse.
I once I just if he's really, really, really that injured,
I just feel like the WW would have said it.
So I was gonna make a video about this and
I probably still will. But no matter what, we're getting worked,
right because we're getting worked if he's injured, and we're
(40:23):
getting worked if he's not injured, because they're not telling
us what's going on, and they never not do that.
How many injuries of a big name wrestler has happened
and we hear nothing about it, just random tidbits and
there's there's something's up. So whether they're not telling us
because they want you to keep thinking he's going to
come back which means they're working us, or that he
isn't really that injured that bad and he is going
(40:45):
to be here at SummerSlam, so they're working us. But
either way, we're getting worked work where we are the end.
It's a work no matter what, so you know, we'll
see what happens. I'm excited for it. I'm excited for
this tag team match. Although we'll get into predictions next
week on who's gonna win, but uh, in the end,
(41:05):
bron Breaker and Bronson Reid being in the ring with
Roman Reigns is a phenomenal thing, win or lose. They're
gonna grow from that, They're gonna benefit from that, and
they're gonna get a lot of eyeballs because of that.
Does this match open Night one or Night two or
does it main event Night one?
Speaker 2 (41:26):
I think it. I don't think it.
Speaker 3 (41:28):
It's not going in the middle.
Speaker 1 (41:30):
Yeah, it has to open one of the nights.
Speaker 3 (41:32):
It's not gonna get.
Speaker 2 (41:34):
I'm gonna say it opens night one of the show.
Speaker 1 (41:37):
I think so too, because I think Punk and Gunther
are gonna close Night two when I think we're gonna
get a very similar results in.
Speaker 3 (41:45):
These Okay, that's what I'm thinking. That's what i'm thinking.
All right, let's get into it.
Speaker 1 (41:50):
Speaking of rubs and yeating, the Undertaker did a lot
of that on NXT. So Undertaker said, Trick, I'm coming
for you.
Speaker 3 (41:57):
This is my yard brother and that of shape.
Speaker 1 (42:00):
Ninety seven year old Undertaker waddles into the ring no offense.
I love Taker, He's a bad dude, but I mean,
have you seen Trick Williams.
Speaker 2 (42:09):
Let's let's stop.
Speaker 1 (42:10):
Okay, I get the the r I get it like
you're the Undertaker, like Trick was like over selling it.
He had fear and drool from his mouth because he
could not handle this overweight Undertaker about to like lay
him out in his yard, you know what I mean,
and he choke slams Trick Williams. I don't understand Trick
williams reaction to the choke slam. I don't know if
(42:32):
he saw it, but he was like bent up and
his face was like.
Speaker 3 (42:37):
Yeah. Even the Undertaker was like what are you doing? Bro?
Speaker 1 (42:40):
And then to close it out. Undertaker then after the
main event Obafemi Defense, which we don't even need to
talk about because the match was like four seconds long,
and Undertaker goes to the back where Javon Evans is
watching the TV and he's like, hey, bro, I got
advice for you, and Javon Evans like, let me get
my notebook out ready to take advice from the legend
which that's what Undertaker should be doing, and then instead
(43:00):
he tells him to go face that bigger batter guy,
which he's already done. That was let's I'll let you
start off with it Undertaker being here. Why did it work?
Speaker 3 (43:13):
Did you like it?
Speaker 1 (43:14):
Please explain?
Speaker 2 (43:17):
I liked. I like Trick Williams. I love his promo.
I thought Trick Williams was the star of the show.
As usual in the NXT, he has been fantastic. The
promo he cut was great. Everything he was saying, like
even interrupting the Undertaker and be like, man, I don't
give a damn about LFG guys, Like it was just
(43:38):
great and Undertaker he called Undertaker soft. We didn't talk
about his promo on raw either, just how you know,
talking about how the Undertaker's knees goes snap whenever he walks,
like just everything, just good stuff from from Trick Williams.
But man, this segment just didn't do it for me.
Like once the Undertaker came out, first of all, it
(43:59):
took too long. His entrance is longer than Romans and
he didn't even have a motorcycle this time, so I
was like, oh gosh, here he comes. He's going to
take a sweet time and then stuff he was saying
made no sense whatsoever, Just like you have everything, you have,
the swagger, you have, you have the you know, but
you don't have respect. And it was like, okay, but
(44:19):
he's got the championship, you know, like yeah, because he like,
I don't get it.
Speaker 3 (44:23):
And then.
Speaker 1 (44:25):
Yeah, I just looked like he was flubbing lines to
it looked like he didn't know what he was saying.
And he was never the greatest promo guy, but still.
Speaker 2 (44:34):
Yeah, it looked like he was trying to go off
the cuff and yeah, he was just he kept pausing
in between his words, and it was just like get
to the point. He kept saying the same thing over
and over. You don't have respect. You know what people
had for me, they had respect. You know what they
don't have for you. They don't have respect. You know
what this is all about? It It was just like this, Okay,
(44:55):
we get it. It's about respect. R E spc T
find out what it means to me. But yeah, I
just the rest of the promo just didn't do it
for me. And then like, what's the what was the
point of this? Like is trick Williams gonna have a
match with the Undertaker. Is it gonna be Trick Williams
against the LFG guys. Is Trick Williams coming down to LFG,
gonna get some respect built beat into? And then Javon
(45:18):
Evans at the end like huh, like what is Yeah?
This just felt like this felt like we're in Texas,
Let's let's make some ratings and let's get there on
the show somehow, even though he clearly has not watched
the product in a while. That's how.
Speaker 1 (45:31):
Yeah, one hundred percent. We won'tn't even get into the
awful bully rape segment. That was bad, and I love
Bully raing. I love the Undertaker. I know I said
Undertaker was out of shape, but he is. I'm not
saying like he's not over. He would admit it, right,
He's not in peak fit like Chrick Williams looks like
a freaking chiseled out like statuette of what a man
supposed to look like.
Speaker 3 (45:49):
And he's supposed to be afraid of the under Like.
Speaker 1 (45:51):
I get it's pro wrestling, but that was my biggest
take from this, right was he told Javon Evans to
do what he's already done.
Speaker 3 (45:58):
And that's the challengo befem me.
Speaker 1 (45:59):
That's not it.
Speaker 3 (46:00):
That's telling you to go. That's a death wish.
Speaker 1 (46:02):
Secondly, Undertaker chokeslaming Chuck. Like you said, if nothing comes
up comes out of it, if we don't get Trick
versus Undertaker, then this serve no purpose other than hopefully
getting a ratings push. Like you said, that's the only
thing it would serve. But what do you need that for?
That's what I didn't like about it. This didn't make
Trick Williams look any better. This guy spent the entire
NXT bragging about being that guy, cutting phenomenal probos. He
(46:26):
was cutting good stuff backstage, He's the TNA World champ,
stared at Obafemi, He's the man, and then he just
got choke slammed by a veteran of ninety.
Speaker 3 (46:35):
Seven years old?
Speaker 1 (46:35):
Like it just?
Speaker 3 (46:36):
Ha? Did this make it that?
Speaker 1 (46:37):
Just? In my opinion, if I'm not a hardcore fan,
I'm just tuning in an NXT. If I'm a t
and a guy or trying to get into TNA, I'm
gonna be like, why do I the Undertaker just demolish
their champion?
Speaker 3 (46:47):
What the hell do I care give?
Speaker 1 (46:48):
Him a damn stroke for crying out loud when he
choke slammed him like it didn't make it look good.
And Undertaker and Trick aren't gonna wrestle, and even if
Trick goes after his LFG crew, that doesn't mean anything.
And they got beat up by the Undertakers who cares
that he beats up a bunch of up and coming
stars like it literally did nothing. It benefited nobody. This
was just a really really bad idea bad it was like,
(47:08):
and I know it wasn't the Undertaker's idea.
Speaker 3 (47:10):
So Sean Michael's booking this the goat.
Speaker 1 (47:12):
I'm not dogging him either, but dude, yeah, don't put
Undertaker in that situation either.
Speaker 3 (47:17):
It just wasn't a good look for anybody.
Speaker 2 (47:19):
You know what's crazy is everybody was upset that Trick
Williams won at Slammiversary ye because it should have been
Mike Santana. They were in New York. It was the
wrong decision. YadA, YadA, YadA. If anything, this buried the
TNA champion more so than NXT two NXC wrestlers beating
then TNA people at their biggest show, one of their
(47:42):
biggest shows of the year, because, like you said, this
guy's the TNA champion and he got choked slammed by
a sixty seven year old Undertaker can barely walk, and
there's no there's no revenge, there's no rhyme or reason
to it. It's the exactly benefit anyone at the end
of the day. So at the end of the day,
he buried the top champion on the brand. So if
I'm in TNA, I'm more pissed off about that than
(48:03):
I am about the WWE guy holding my championship.
Speaker 1 (48:06):
But yeah, I agree, well said yeah, and Trick even
trying to like go punch him and unders I could
even block it. He just grabbed his throat and I'm like,
wouldn't he have still punched him? I was confused by
the whole segment, and I was like, what the well,
let's get into something I wasn't confused about. Ethan Page
came out cut a phenomenal promo as he does, and
he unveiled a brand new NXT North American Championship belt.
(48:28):
I'll let you take it from here. Out of the segment,
go and what'd you think about it?
Speaker 3 (48:33):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (48:33):
I loved everything about this. The title looked oddly familiar
though to the AEW Real American Championship that they had
uh huh MJF had it. It looked very very like
similar with the flag in the back with the gold
in the middle. But it was a good looking belt
and Ethan Page Man, he continues to get better and better.
(48:56):
I think he's besides Trick. I think he's n xc's
biggest and I think they see it in him. That's
why he's beaten guys like Ricky Saints and he's got
the championship.
Speaker 1 (49:07):
You know.
Speaker 2 (49:07):
I liked The one thing that I didn't like about
this promo was the introduct that Santino Morella, for whatever reason,
coming out. And I know he's the commissioner of TNA
and he's there to be the authority figure and all that,
and I know Ada is there too, but this promo
felt oddly similar to the one that we just discussed
(49:28):
with The Undertaker and Trick Williams, because you know, Santino
was saying a lot of the same things, like you
have the championship, but you need an attitude adjustment. You
don't have respect. You need this and I'm going to
beat it into you. And and then he tries to
do the Cobra and Ethan Page happens to escape, So
it was very very similar to do that, and it
was like, why would you do these two promos on
(49:51):
the same night, But man, I love this. It was
other than that. I liked it and Ethan Page is him.
Ethan Page is a star. And I've been saying in
it since day one ish that Ethan Page is awesome
and we're seeing how great he is in NXC.
Speaker 1 (50:07):
Dude, he's doing amazing. That belt looked amazing. I like
the fact that he pulled out the Canadian flags and
just got the crowd worked up, because nobody says not
America in America. It's a North American title, which means
it represents Canada Mexico in the United States, so he
could be Canadian and represent that. I thought everything about
it was phenomenal. His promo was magnified. He's the best
(50:27):
hill in NXT today and he has been and he's
just getting He's getting better, which is insane. My thing
was though, is that isn't Santino Morele is supposed to
be like Italian or something.
Speaker 3 (50:37):
Why did he come to the rescue of Yeah, he's
like you.
Speaker 1 (50:41):
Know, I'm gonna have a beach you you know what
I'm saying. I'm gonna Cobra to represent it the North
of America, Like you're not even like we couldn't have
anybody in the back that's from North America to represent
like not like where's the lw out now you know
what I mean? He got all the Latino love right now,
bring them out to represent Mexico and help, you know,
are someone from the United States?
Speaker 3 (50:59):
Like it was just a really weird.
Speaker 1 (51:02):
Thing to have Santino. I guess maybe an easy win
to read the page next week, but like Santino is
not a wrestler. That's like Ava like interrupting someone on
TNA Women Division, Like I don't know, it was a
weird booking on that.
Speaker 3 (51:13):
But Ethan Page can do no wrong. I like the
segment overall.
Speaker 2 (51:16):
Yeah, he's got a great voice too. He's saying out
Canada and I.
Speaker 1 (51:19):
Was like, damn, oh yeah, got he's got some pipes,
no nothing, nothing, All right, Well, there it goes. That's
