Top of the day fans, orperhaps it's medium cool at midnight. It's
Two Rose from Ringside the Pro WrestlingVarieties Show podcast. I am the Man
of Bullshit Greg Sterner along with Rickycounting the Chetta Seretta, and tonight we're
gonna bring you a brand new segmentcalled the Two Rose Beat Club. Ricky
and I have plans to create chaotic, crooning cadence in the coffeehouse as we
(00:40):
steal directly from William Shatner's brilliance anddo dramatic readings of pro wrestling theme songs.
Tonight, the tortured soul of BadassBilly Gunn is explored with empathy as
ass Man is performed on stage. Then Two Rose turns the page on yet
another prepussit to us and pizzazz ladenperiodical as we delve into a nineteen eighty
(01:03):
nine WWF magazine. We'll end thingstonight with the next edition of the Fantastic
Favorite Series and watch Ricky's favorite match, Flare and Steamboat from Chai Town.
How brilliant was the man will tryand explain it all. So buckle up
now in that roller coaster holster, because you're barreling down the tracks to your
big seat at the Big Show. Two Rows from wingside, Welcome back,
(01:37):
fans to two Rows from ringside, and we are very happy once again to
be here with you. We hopeyou are just as happy to be back
here with us. As two Rowsonce again turns the page, you might
even be able to hear a littlepage turning happening there, as Ricky peruse
is the latest sample of a verypowerful periodical, the WWF magazine from what
(02:02):
was this issue? Ricky, what'sthe month in the year? Here?
From July nineteen eighty nine? SoI was not even a year old.
You were not even a year old, And this was the magazine that we
had. You had two random magazinesyou found and this was the other one
of the two. We did thefirst one a couple of weeks back,
(02:23):
and this is now our second attemptat this. And I'm excited because Ricky,
you just made a very interesting purchasefor this endeavor of two rows turning
the page. Do you want tolet the fans know what you just did
a little shopping for. Well,I have been entertaining the idea of starting
(02:44):
to collect old wrestling print media.I am going further and further into the
nerd of this, And I don'tknow if I should be ashamed or excited,
you should be proud. However, when you peruse the stuff on eBay,
it's amazing what you can find. Not only can you find old w
WF magazines, old pro Wrestling, illustrated old w That's what I'd be into,
(03:05):
the pwis and p wis and wasalso fascinating too from the eighties is
how many magazines there were in theeighties. And I listened to the podcast
them what's the one Davel Greca andTommy Dreamer, um, oh, busted
Open, Busted Open? How theyhad? Um who's the famous guy from
a PWI? Who did uh BillBill? After? But just the amount
(03:29):
of magazines that were available in theeighties, um for wrestling, it was
tremendous, and I had them all. I would go to the newsstand and
literally come home with six different magazines. I remember one time I had to
have a surgery and I was akids. I was a little scared,
and my dad came home with abig old stack of magazines and said that
when I came home from the hospitaland I would be convalescing, that I
(03:51):
would have this huge stack of wrestlingmagazines to read, and that got me
to like be brave enough to getthrough the surgery so I could come home
and read this is very nice stackpwis and Wrestlers, and uh, you
know I used to have I usedto have picture like posters pulled out of
a dozen different magazines that just adornedmy bedroom walls. I remember I had
(04:11):
a picture gorgeous Jimmy Garvin and preciousTerry Gordy with the UWF title, Rick
Flair with Big Gold when you firstintroduced Big Gold for the first time,
that those were pictures I had.And then years later in the nineties,
right around the time we're talking abouthere, I had a picture on my
ceiling Ricky of Medusa Masselli in abikini. Well, I know why it
(04:33):
was on your ceiling. Well, yes, that's true, is the reason
it was shooting ghost loads over there. But what's what's I don't want to
say maybe fascinating on the right word. But what's really interesting is, you
know, especially in the eighties, obviously there wasn't Internet, there wasn't Twitter,
there wasn't social media. So thesemagazines essentially were the way that a
(04:58):
lot of wrestling fans found out aout talent and other territories right and so
forth. That's the only reason Iknew what the NWA even was and like
AWA, like, I didn't knowany of that stuff until I read those
pwis in Pennsylvania. Yeah, becauseI grew up. For me, the
WWF was the world and that's whatwrestling was. So to find it there
was like a dirtier, grittier versionof wrestling out there, and that there
(05:19):
was all this history. I didn'tlearn that until I looked at the magazines,
and then in the in the nineties, I got into the dirt sheets
and then it's like the world openedup and you really knew what was going
on more than you ever had before. But anyway, before we uh,
before we turned this into a marathonturning of the page, Ricky, what
is the what are the highlights ofthis one? Well, according to the
(05:42):
front cover we have here, HulkHogan a rare interview with the champ equals.
Hulk Hogan did not do that interview, and someone who know what these
magazines this is all you know whatI mean, and this is what you
know. I'm not getting back intoit. But boy, what a what
a great time? You know? For sure? We also have Brutus barbered,
(06:04):
Savage and Sherry and a shearing shocker, and Jake the Snake has a
fistful of dollars for the million dollarman. The demolition wrecking ball can accent,
smash, reduce the twin towers torubble. Ooh that did not age?
Well, yes, sure did not. Okay, yeah, well Brutus
(06:24):
barbered. That must have been becausehe had been caught calling Sherry Martell scary
Sherry And there's a price to bepaid for that. Who Who's in the
what's the spotlight section? Here?Rick? Do you mind if I cut
him with you? May? Allright, let's see what we got here.
So a couple of pages in wegot around the ring fan for him.
(06:48):
Now that's awesome. Well, oneof these days, I hope,
will you you you turn up withthe WWF magazine that I was in.
I have to stop you here,Greg, because there is a on page
seven there is a bright, vibrantadvertisement for WWF Superstars the Arcade game.
Oh and oh my god, didI spend money on this game? And
(07:10):
then there was the second version ofit. I forget what it was called
I have to look it up.Was it Wrestle? Yeah, that was
my jam. Yeah, I thinkI was more, but it was kind
of like off the same platform.Oh my god, what a great arcade
game that was. These were thesewere so they were basic and like like
with what you could do. Butfor the time, that arcade sound like
like that deep the deep sounds ofthe ring and wrestlers hitting each other,
(07:34):
and they just looked they looked likegiant cartoons come to life on this arcade
game. It was so cool.I may have told the story, but
there was a growing up in LongIsland when I was young. There was
a Nathan's Hot Dogs just shut downa few years ago, but it was
in a town called Ocean Side, and attached to the Nathan's was this huge
(07:55):
arcade and I remember going there withmy grandparents and after we were done eating,
we would go in the arcade. Now was so small I would have
to stand on a milk carton tobe able to get up to actually play
the game. But I remember,I mean, my grandparents being so patient.
I feel bad for them now havingto watch me play this. They
probably loved seeing you have so muchfun. But a very very good time,
(08:18):
a lot of nostalgia. Um sojust seeing this advertisement kind of brought
it all make you a little excited. But did you know that someone,
some genius out there took the engineof the wrestle Fest game and the Superstars
game here that you're talking about andactually recreated it like new guys and yes,
(08:41):
and it looks really really cool.I'm not trying woyd with the idea
of getting it, but I waslike, if I if I get this,
the time that I'm now productive doingthings that I need to be doing,
I will now spend playing this wrestlinggame. So the podcast will end,
the podcast will end. That wasit on your phone? Like?
How do you? I thought Iwas under them and you could get it
(09:01):
for the computer and then whatever controllersyou can get. Okay, so I
think a computer computer game, gotcha? Yeah, but you're right that what
a great uh what a great umgame? Those were? Those were There's
a little article here news Breakers aboutDino Bravo choosing Jimmy Hard as his manager.
Uh you know who, didn't JimmyHart manage? I think he's the
(09:22):
biggest who of any wrestling manager.I have to tell you, Dino Bravo
never and I feel bad that theguy was brutally murdered, but he never
ever did it. For me.I found him to be one of those
boring wrestlers in history. What wereyour thoughts on Bravo, Well, he
was really big in the Canadian scene, right in the Canadian he's a huge
star. Yes, and then Iguess when he came to w WF he
(09:43):
wasn't as over as expected, kindof like, well he was in Canada
still, but yeah, like hestates, he wasn't. He just had
I felt like Bravo had no charismawhatsoever, Like there are some guys who
just they don't jump through the TVscreen. Randy Savage had an overflow of
maniacal charisma. Yeah, the Hulkhad major charisma. Dino Bravo was just
(10:05):
a big, jacked up dude andhe was impressive, but as a wrestler,
he was he was slow, hewas plotting, he was a little
clumsy here and there, and theyalways pushed him, Like Vince pushed him
as a member of the he pushedhim as a single when he first came
in. He pushed him with theNew Dream Team with Greg Valentine, they
(10:26):
had him they had him break thebench pressing world record with help from Jesse
Ventur five hundred pounds, wasn't it. Yeah, well the record was seven
hundred and some and Jesse helped himpull it up. It was like a
it was a you know, wrestlingwrestling iyized world record. Now. I
guess though you would say Dino waswhat they call in the mark world unfuck
(10:46):
with the ball. I would imagineI wouldn't fuck with Dina. I wouldn't
fuck with him by the looks ofhim. And he probably could really hurt
you if he got a hold ofit. But I wonder if somebody could
have really done some damage to him, because with that much extra mass on
you, it's got to be likefighting. Ah, it's got to be
like, you know, fighting somekind of mutant beast. Well, very
(11:09):
very sad the way his career inlife ended. It's never good to be
murdered in your own living room andyour own lazy boy. He did hit
the peak of his career, ofcourse, with Summer Slam ninety when he
was teamed up with the Earthquake. When Earthquake had his big main event run
with Hogan, we got oh anotherless than reputable, not aging so well.
(11:30):
The super fly Jimmy Snuka is thesubject Ricky of the personality profile,
and this would have been right whenJimmy Snuka came back. He made his
return at WrestleMania five. He hadn'tbeen in the company since WrestleMania one,
so after four years he came back. But it was a bottom it was
a it was a lower mid cardrole. He was a main event guy,
(11:52):
but he blew his whole career ondrugs and you know, killing girlfriends.
And speaking of Jimmy Snuka, youknow I had VHS tape when I
was very young that of course Iwould watch a million million times over and
one of my favorite matches was JimmySnuka and Greg Valentine. And guess who
the referee was? You shouldn't IYou'll know what year was this, nineteen
(12:13):
ninety or ninety one? Who wasthe rest? Who was the rest special
guest referee in this match between Valentineand Snooka. I'm trying to think of
who was feuding with who in ninetyninety one. I assumed the special guest
referee was a good guy. Forme to say it, I'm gonna take
(12:35):
a guest before you say it,and I'm gonna say, I am going
to say, I don't know whowas rugged Ronnie Gardy. I wish I
had said it, because that wasone of the names in my head,
and it was because he was feudingwith Valentine. Wait a minute, are
you are you sure you're not talkingabout the eighty nine Summer Slam where it
(12:58):
was Valentine Hercules. No, no, no, I can put up.
Ronnie Garvin was the referee for thatmatch, and he insulted Valentine by introducing
him, because that was the matchI was thinking of it. You said,
super Fly. So was this ona on a prime time wrestling?
I think it was. I thinkit was prime Yes? Oh no,
was Saturday Night main event July eighteenth? Sorry? Off by the nineteen eighty
(13:18):
nine okay, eighty nine, thatmakes more sense for it to have been
Rugged Ronnie Garvin. Uh, butyeah, I remember that Valentine Garvin few.
That was actually pretty good. Um, But after it was over,
it was so weird Ricky, becauseRugged Ronnie Garvin was getting a decent push.
He beat the Hammer and the blowoffmatch, but then they jobbed him
the fuck out. He was doinghe was doing matches with a job or
(13:41):
as his partner there at the end, former NWA World champion. He's in,
he's in jobber matches. Well, this was the aforementioned talk with the
hulkster. I always say to you, Ricky that you know the same,
same with the body language column thatI don't think any of this is probably
a Hulk. But let's see definitelynot Hulk. Let's see how well this
per and writes Hulk doo, doyou want to be WWF or do you
(14:01):
want to be Hulk? For theview for the listeners here, Um,
it's a interview and it's broken downby the WWF obviously interviewing the Hulks the
interviewers. So why don't I whydon't we start here? Just read him
a segment. I'll be WWF,you be the Hulk. Okay, we'll
see if you sound legit or not. You've been Savage's partner in some of
the most explosive tag team bouts ever, and you've faced him as an adversary
(14:26):
bent on vengeance. Perhaps no oneknows the macho man better than you.
So what do you feel are hisstrong points and his weak points? Hulk?
I am not even going to tryto do a Hulk voice and embarrass
myself. However, I'm going toread what quote Hulk responded, and you
can just in your mind rounds likeHulk in my mind. I'm gonna tell
(14:50):
you, Savage is a great wrestler. He's one of the best athletes I've
ever come against. He's tough,he's got natural ability, he's got a
all accept one thing. He letjealousy take over, and that jealousy turned
to hatred. It consumes him inthe long run. Hatred burns you up.
That's his weak point. He'll neversee things right as long as he
(15:13):
hates unbelievably weak, I will saythat. Okay, now let's I'm gonna
try it. Savage is a greatwrestler. Brother, He's one of the
best athletes I've ever come up against. No, there, you lost me
right there the phrasing, that's notthe whole although you know they had the
you know each your vitamins be agood person kind of thing. But as
(15:35):
you turn the page, here yousee clips from the movie No Holds Barred
Ricky. They just did something toWrestle Special Edition where they went over this
movie and they kind of watched ittogether and just they did like a watch
along and that was the podcast. You have got to pick yourself up a
copy of No Holds Barred and watchedthis film with me. At some point
we need to get drunk and watchHulk Hogan fight Zeus on the big screen.
(15:58):
I would totally be down for that. And uh, speak of the
Devil. Yeah, here was herewas the match we were just talking about.
Was this the one from the RoyalRumble though? Or was this a
random match on Superstars? Yeah?So what happened was so rugged Ronnie Garvin,
I guess beat the hammer here. You can see a small package there,
(16:18):
and I think he beat the hammer. But then somehow Greg Valentine beat
him, like goaded Ronnie Garvin intoum giving up his career if he lost,
and then he beat Ronnie Garvin andRonnie Garvin that's why he was refereeing
all those times, because he waswaiting to be reinstated and he was trying
to he was trying to get GregValentine pissed off enough that Greg Valentine would,
(16:41):
like, you know, lobby forhis reinstatement, and then they had
to blow off at the royal rumble. But what are your thoughts on the
pictures you're seeing? Well, Iam laughing at one picture because it is
Ronnie Garvin putting Greg in a smallpackage. But something about the picture is
just off putting. How would youdescribe it? Well, it looks like
(17:03):
Greg Valentine is going in deep fora little snack that might be on the
other side of Garvin's green little tightytighty green shorts. There. Also,
look at the look at the welldefined rooster legs here on the hammer.
Oh god, was there a guywith a worst physique in wrestling than I
mean, this guy looks like Gregval How did he just keep getting work?
(17:25):
Like? I just don't get it. He's like living like. Look,
he was good at certain times. He was very good when he was
with the Dream Team and before thatwhen he was the Intercontinental Champion. At
this point he was older and hejust got weird and thick. But why
did he always look like he's fiftyfive years old? He always did look
older older. You know, I'veI've seen him when he was quite young.
But yeah, in the WWF times, and they always pushed him somewhere
(17:48):
in the mid card. You know, he never made it to the main
event again once it got big.But I don't know. There's something about
it. But what animal does heremind you of? Ricky? There's like
a he's like a he's like aa plodding kind of looping. What animal
is that? I don't know.He just is very It looks like he
just ate way too much salt.Ardvark. Yeah, I'm gonna go with
(18:15):
Ardvark Greg the Ardvark Valentine And lookslike we changed some outfits here. This
was the rematch, but there yousee it there the hammer picked up the
win and I think that was theend of Garvin's career until the reinstatement.
There's the Garbin stomp, Rick,You remember I told you about that a
lot of these most recent episodes. He would go all the way around the
body and get all the you know, pain points or pressure points. I
(18:38):
always love the Garbin stomping. Ofall the guys to have adopted it,
Randy Orton uses the Garbin stomp today. All right, why don't you tell
us what we got next year?Ricky? We have a ultimate warrior and
ravishing Rick rude piece here rude andhean and cheated me is the word.
(19:00):
I don't think the Ultimate Warrior couldnot at this stage. He was just
making noises. Um, the UltimateWarrior is on a war path. He's
not a very pleasant person to bearound these days, says a friend,
not surprisingly insisted on a dominant Ican't even say that word for me,
and we're gonna skip that one, okay. When he won the Intercontinental Championship
(19:26):
from the Honky Tonk Man at SummerSlameighty eight, he was on top of
the world. He said he'd holdthe belt forever, using it to show
the fans that rewards come to thosewho do the right things. Now ravishing,
Rick Rude the champ, and hegot the title by breaking the rules.
When you mentioned the belt, changeto the Warrior, I swear his
(19:49):
skin turns red right away, andhe makes this grunt that sort of sounds
like a race car starting. Andthat's where the conversation ends. The Warrior
gets heated up. You don't.And those are the words of Keith Elliott
Greenberg, bursting with fury. TheUltimate Warriors determined to wrestle the Intercontal Championship
(20:11):
away from Rick Rude. Didn't RickRude look so strange? Where he had
the real Intercontinental belt over the airbrushedbelt on his tights. Yea, he
was wearing two belts. That wasa little Rick Rude had some great tights
though, and as he did that. If you haven't seen the WrestleMania five
match between Warrior and Rude, that'sone we should watch together at some point
because it's a really good match. It's one of the best that Warrior had,
(20:33):
and Rick Rude does this incredible flyingdrop kick in that match off the
top rope. When I was oneof these times I was making Abby watch
wrestling with me, and she waslike laughing at all, shitting all over
it, and then all of asudden she saw that top rope drop kick
and she was like, holy shit, that looked real. So, yeah,
we're just going through here. Yousee the WrestleMania five finished there with
(20:56):
Heenan pulling the leg and so thebig feuds at the time. So far,
here are Warrior and Rude, we'vegot Hulk and Savage, and we've
got Valentine and Garbon. So Ricky, here's your favorite part of the whole.
(21:18):
We're back to the WWF merchandise catalog. Before we do, I'm go
two for two here. The lasttime I did awesome with my trivia the
Ricky go ahead, give it tome random, give me a random bit
here, and I'm gonna do mybest. Last time I got two for
two and I was very happy withmyself. I'm gonna try it. I'm
gonna try to do it again twoin a row. This will be I'd
(21:41):
be very impressed. Okay, here'sa question. How many years did Big
John Studs spend away from the WWFbefore his recent return. Well, he
returned in nineteen eighty nine for theRoyal Rumble, and he was last in
the company a knee. Let's see, WrestleMania two was eighty six, so
(22:03):
I'm gonna tell you that it wasanywhere. I got to give myself a
little bit of a spread because Idon't know what his official last match was,
but he wrestled in the nineteen eightysix WrestleMania for WrestleMania two, and
he disappeared very quickly after that.So I'm gonna say he came back in
eighty nine, left in eighty six. Anywhere from two to two and a
half years. You are correct,it was two years? Oh yeah,
(22:30):
Oh yeah? All right, that'sone. And then let me see come
at me, all of you outthere, I challenge you in a wrestling
trivia. I'm a six six manRoyal Rumble. Okay, so I'm guessing
this is from the Royal Rumble eightynine they're referring to in the six man
(22:52):
tag team bout who pinned whom toend the contest? Oh God, I
don't even know what the sixth manabout was. Um if it was,
in fact, if they're talking aboutthe Rougeo Brothers and Dino Bravo versus the
Heart Foundation and Hacksall dug In,which is the only real six man I
can remember watching for the Royal Rumbleof that previous year, then I'm gonna
(23:19):
say I'm just gonna take a guess, and I'm gonna say that Hacksaw pinned
Bravo to win it, Bret Hartpinned Dino. Okay, so I had
the match right. I had theguy who got pinned right, but not
the pinner loser. I can megive me one more. Let me let
(23:41):
me end on a strong one here. I know I'll give myself half credit
on that last one, and alsohad half a loss. Some of the
most of these questions are very veryeasy, because I'm guessing a lot of
children are reading this. Um,you're looking at two of them right now.
Yes, I have a feeling there'sa there's a diamond. Haxall Jim
(24:06):
Duggan also goes by what other nickname? Hacks All Dugan goes under what other
nickname? Let's see. This oneis stumping me because I'm not remembering off
the top of my head. Itprobably something to do with is it made
(24:26):
in the USA? Something like that. It could be, it could be
I'm gonna say, I don't thinkthis is right, but I'm gonna say
made in the USA, hacks AllDuggan. But I think I think I
should have bet on this one.You overthought this one. It was tough
(24:48):
guy. Oh that's what he callseverybody else. That's wrong, Okay.
I didn't get if if if thequestion, If the answer to the question
is wrong and my answer is wrong, those two wrongs, in fact,
do make a right, because howcould I possibly get a wrong question right?
Well, perhaps you should write wWF the magazine. I'm gonna write,
Keith Elliot Greenberg right. In fact, I'm gonna make a threatening call
(25:10):
to his house. Right now,I'm right and say, I am disgusted
with your article from thirty two yearsago, and whether you like it or
not, I'm coming to get youa tough guy. Oh all right,
let's say the catalog, Ricky,Now that we've had that botched trivia edition,
well, the catalog is mostly whatwe went through in the other issue
of the new items this time becausewe talked about the other ones. What
do you think of this young ladyhere? When I was young, I
(25:33):
had a real crush on this younglady, But now I noticed she looks
to be about eleven or twelve,Ricky the audience, and Greg was young
when he did have the crush,I was eight or nine years old.
Here it was, well, Iwould have been nine years old, and
I used to think this chick lookedlike, like like an older girl than
my sister you might have gone toschool with. But now I realize she's
(25:55):
a small child, and hey,I don't I don't want to look at
that anymore. Um, Well, these, uh the T shirt that this
young girl and this looks like toddler. Sixteen bucks for the shirt, actually
not too unreasonable. That's a that'sa t shirt that has a Hulk Cogan
wrestling on it, and this teddybear has that bullshit belt we discussed also,
(26:18):
this was George the animal steals uhpet. It was a stuffed animal
he used to carry to the ringcalled Mine. That was the doll's name,
and he was a He was asort of a how would you describe
mine? He looks almost like helooks like he's a balding uh owl of
some sort. How would you describemine? Um like some type of jacked
(26:38):
up teddy bear that's with an upsidedown face and not doing too well in
the hair department on the top thereno kind of like George. Yeah,
well, uh yeah. Unfortunately,as pathetic an animal as mine is,
he would have set you back eighteensfor from now we got Oh here's my
favorite section, right you Now there'ssome different ones on here. What they
(27:00):
tell the fans? What shirts werelooking at? Here? We got the
powers of Pain this time. Idon't believe we had the last time.
That's a pretty badass shirt. Actuallyred red T shirt with animated cartoon versions
of the Warlord and Barbarian h Jesse. The Body's got a shirt this week.
Andre's got that classic shirt on thefront and the back. On the
front was his hand and his signature, and on the back was his foot
(27:23):
in the signature. I actually likeHacksall's baseball shirt. And I can't really
see demolitions. Is that What doesthat look like? Who's on the demolition?
Is that a real picture of them? Or is a cartoon? Oh
no, it's it's the real it'sthe real picture. I'm gonna say this
week, Ricky, outside of theMacho Man shirt, which I had,
(27:47):
that's the classic Macho Man shirt, the lavender with the shape of his sunglasses
with his picture and then black Techsaying Macho Man. I bought that at
my first ever wrestling match. ButI think outside of Macho Man, who
automatically win, I'm gonna say thebest T shirts this week where the Powers
of Painting. Yeah, they're anawesome tag team too. I love them.
Yes, like monsters out of anightmare. Those pictures are The posters
(28:08):
look largely the same as a niceone here of Elizabeth Ricky, there is
a nice one. I did haveto laugh at this one of Jake Roberts
that is highlighted as a new postersomething about that, What the hell just
I don't know, strange. Itwas that I'm colored by like pink.
It's like it's like hot pink.Missed that him and Damien are and it's
(28:32):
it's it's like they took a showerin a hot pink steam room. Very
odd, very odd. Yeah, just a little a little bizarre. I
don't think that one got over toowell. I could be wrong, but
you got Elizabeth working out, andalso Elizabeth and Macho together, you know,
and of course the Ultimate Warriors postsare just the coolest. I mean,
he did have some badass. Lookat posters, and if you bought
(28:52):
this Brutus the Beefcake Barbara Beefcake poster, you are, in fact a homosexual.
Won't argue if you see this post. No, there's anything wrong with
that. I'll describe this picture.I mean, look at Brutus's outfit there
Chippendale Show. It's um rather Iget maybe revealing a little too much leg
a little too much side ass,but it's a little off, a little
(29:18):
weird. Uh Well, Ricky,as we round this segment out here,
so you and I could go onforever. Oh wow, now this is
where you'd like to be. I'vegot the centerfold out here. That's where
you'd like to find yourself under theheels of sensational Sherry. She stomps on
you and calls you a piece ofshit. I am in love with sensational
Sherry. I'm in love with heras well. Obviously we have a we
(29:40):
have a sick obsession. And Ijust want to think that Randy Savage,
while he was apart from Elizabeth,at least got to hit Sherry a couple
of times, not hit her,but anything she wanted to make. But
here was an incident that took placein the Brother Love Show. I was
just watching Brother Love when he waslast night, I believe it or not.
When I was drunk, I waswatching old Brother Love videos with the
(30:00):
nineties was sad. Uh. Thiswas when Macho Man into Sherry, going
back further into the abyss. Idid you what did you call it earlier?
The shittibis? Yeah, so Iwas for my Trailer Park Boy listeners
here in memory of Jim Lahey, the shittibis Well. I was fully flushed
into the shittibis last night, forsure. But this was when they attacked
(30:22):
Beefcake on The Brother Love Show andcut his hair I do remember that there's
an unfortunate title you talked about RickyDemolition vows to topple the Twin Towers better
the least said they're the better umAnd also a segment here on another big
feud at the time, Andre theGiant, Big stunt John Studd. I
got a story to tell you there, and that was legit heat that did
(30:44):
not like each other. And that'swhy John Studd was not even with the
company into nineteen ninety because Andre wasterrorizing him so much for real, like
really hurt it, like hitting himhard in the ring, beating the shit
out of him, being a totaldouchebag to him behind the scenes. Because
Andre did not like John Studd.Even though John Studd credited Andre with his
whole career and basically said his kidscould thank Andre for the food on their
(31:07):
table. Uh. Andre did notlike the fact that Big John Studd ever
referred to himself as the true giantand wrestling and he truly hated him.
So because of Andre's unprofessional behavior,John Studd was in and out in the
course of less than a year innineteen eighty nine. So what are we
rounding out with here? Ricky isthat curly bill that I see a fistful
(31:30):
of dollars. Oh that's a that'suh? Is that Vincent? Is that
Mike Jones? Is that soul trainedJones? Is that Virgil? God?
I think it's all of the above. Jake Roberts has a bad taste in
his mouth. It's it's okay, article crack? What is it? What
is it? This week? Bad? Acid? So constrictor poop? Somewhere
(31:53):
along the wide Jake Roberts wrestled Virgiland none of us remember it, and
probably for good reasons. I gonnalie. I love Jake Roberts and I
was a kid. I just thoughthe was. He was he was really
cool. Um, we didn't knowwhat a piece of shit he was back
then, but this was when TeddyBIASI injured him. But was he a
real piece of shor was he justan addict? I think he was both.
(32:14):
I think if you look at someof the behavior he engaged in,
like stealing other people's girlfriends, Ididn't know he did that. Yeah,
he was just he was just Heprobably was severely damaged as a child,
like the s upbringing was not notgood. Well, he claims, and
this is I believe true. Ithink it has been documented that his father
(32:35):
was dating his grandmother at the timethat he raped his current woman. He
was dating his teenage daughter. Andthat teenage daughter that Jake's father raped while
he was in a relationship with thegirl's mother, he's Jake the Snake roberts
his mother. I am so confused. I don't even want to I can't
even imagine the fuckery you just said, so I would imagine it was why
(32:59):
this poor guy would be fucked up. It was definitely some fuckery, for
sure. What's the okay? Sothis is the last last section here?
Um, what is the big newsof the week? Here? There there
you see a picture of tiny listerszeus h and boy was he a scary
looking guy? Huh? Yes,to say the least, we got Honky
Tonk ban here, we got honkyTonk. We even got Jesse the Body
(33:22):
Ventura from a Miller light commercial.I remember this commercial. I think it
aired during the Super Bowl. Butit was Jesse Ventura as a wrestler and
he was fighting for his taste greatand his opponent was less filling and I'd
be in a wrestling match about theMiller late and at the end. It
ends with a bunch of people unmaskingthemselves. Vince McMahon had a cameo in
(33:43):
there, and it was a greatlittle commercial. I still remember it to
this day and it must have madean impression on me if if I still
remember it. Um, what elsewe got it? We got one of
those fantastic pictures at the end,the caught in the Act. Oh,
this is not nearly as good aslast one. No, it's not Alfred
Hayes and the Bushwhackers. Um lookslike their eatings. Wants to see this?
(34:05):
The bushwhackers are eating eggs, raweggs or powdered sugar of some sort
o. Okay, I can't eventell what it is from my angle.
Uh hey, what did you think? Did you think the Bushwhacker? I
know the Bushwhackers were violent maniacs whenthey were the sheep herders, but you
know, when they were Luke andButch, I kind of feel like the
(34:25):
Bushwhackers are kind of cute. Whatdo you think. I mean, they
definitely got over with the kids whodidn't like the Bushwhacker. Now are they
in the Hall of Fame? Theyare good because, as we say,
they definitely should be. They wentin a couple of years ago, but
took to the stage and he hadcrutches, but he made it up there.
I mean, probably not the bestlike in ring workers, but their
gimmick was over. Their gimmick wasway over in the WWF, and they
(34:46):
made more money by far in thew It was a goofy gimmick. But
Mike it was like respected, ifthat makes sense. They were really stupid.
But they were around I think yearseight or nine years with the company
they wrestled in this. They wereold too, I think, like wrestled
in the sixties. Yeah, whenthey entered the WWF. They were in
their forties when they entered because theyhad had that long, long career as
(35:06):
the Kiwis and the sheep Herders, and they were violent maniacs as the sheep
herders, and they had a goodcareer as like blood and guts guys.
And then they came to the WWFand Vince looked at him, He's like,
you guys, our baby faces behindLord Alfred Hayes, it looks like
John Gotti. It does look likeJohn got I wonder if it was him.
(35:28):
Wow. Well, Lord Hayes wasstill kicking back then. He has
since passed. But anyway, Ricky, that is the WWF magazine of nineteen
eighty nine July of nineteen eighty nine. Hulk still looks like a million dollars
on the front of it with thatwinged the eagle belt. But once again,
it's been it's been nice to bea part of two rows, turning
the page and uh and going backin time just to see what was up?
(35:52):
Do you have anything else to sayabout this particular issue before we move
on to our next segments. Iwill be getting more reading material because these
magazines I really enjoy and they're funto uh to go through and laugh.
And I can't wait until you getthose WCW WCW ones will be and I'm
curious to see because I mean,we set it before these WWF magazines.
(36:13):
This was well. WCW's that wasnot as good. They tried to they
tried to be as good. Theytried to be like pattern it after the
WWF magazine and they were okay.Um. WCW also had a comic around
this time. Yes, And Iactually was going to buy those because they're
available. Some are really expensive, right, I would love to do a
segment where we read a WCW comic. Um, I was actually looking at
(36:35):
buying those because there's a there's abunch for sale on eBay. Well you've
heard it, fans. If Rickybuys a WCW comic, it will be
uh what comes out of his pocketwill go into your pocket. His loss
is your gain and you will getthe entertainment of reading through a WCW comic.
Uh if and when the time comes. But and also not to cut
you off, WWF had a comictoo called Battlemania Battlemania. I saw those.
(36:58):
Yes, it was early nine, okay, battle Mania. Not to
cut you off again, I'm sorry, But what's crazy is the WCW comics
were Marvel comics. Were they really? Yeah? I do. You would
think WWF would like more. TheDangerous Alliance were like the villains of the
WCW comic when it was around, because they were the villains on TV.
And uh I remember, I rememberthe Dangerous Alliance being being bad and then
(37:22):
like Luger and Sting were the goodguys. It was really good. I
will have to insist that you pickone of those up. And then if
you pick those up, then whatI'll do is I'll try to I'll try
to wrestle up some pro wrestling illustratedhere before too long and there and some
wrestlers, um, and we'll justmake this a regular segment because I have
a lot of fun doing this. And also, some of these magazines can
(37:42):
be pretty expensive. There was anineteen ninety three I think it's like the
Year in Review WCW magazine. However, if you can find an issue that
has the attached cards to it,it could be worth like two hundred bucks.
They're going for an eBay because theysay you get like twelve cards,
but it was actually stone cold SteveAustin's. You know, that's when he
was stunning. Steve Auston right, his quote unquote rookie card. Oh so
(38:07):
yeah wow, so not bad inthe world. I mean, Mickey Mantle's
rookie card when I was a kidwas worse, like six hundred bucks.
I think Mickey Mantles cards definitely worthmore than but hey, if Mickey Mantles
worth six and Steve Auster's word two, that's pretty good for Steve. Yeah,
so um, pretty interesting stuff.I highly recommend that you kind of
(38:29):
look into these magazines because it istakes you back in time. Well,
we talked, we talked about doinga T shirt with our high school yearbook
pictures on it. And then whentwo Rows takes over the world becomes a
huge sensation, people will be ableto buy those T shirts and say here
was two Rows rookie cards. Allright, well we have gone way over,
we have gotten way carried away here, sir, so I am going
(38:51):
to say we will be back shortlywith some hot wrestling action. Welcome back
fans, and by popular demand,we are here again with another segment of
(39:12):
the Two Rows Beat Club, andwe have our very own Greg Sterner here
set to take the stage performing assMan. And without any further ado,
let's give a warm welcome to GregorySterner himself while he performs. I appreciate
your kind applause, and I'm gonnatry to really get to the get to
(39:38):
the truth of this one. Sowithout further ado, here we go.
I love to love him, Ilove to kick him, I love to
shove him, I love to stickhim, love to flaunt him, and
(39:59):
I love to watch them. Ilove to pick him and I'm gonna kick
him because I'm an ass man.Yeah, I'm an ass man. Yeah,
I'm an ass man. Oh,I'm an ass man. So many
(40:24):
asses, so little time. Onlya tight one can stop me on the
dime. I'm a lover of everykind. The best surprises always sneak up
from behind when you're an ass man. Yeah, I'm an ass man.
(40:47):
Yes, I'm an ass man.Oh, I'm an ass man. Buns
of glory, buns of steel.Your lies won't give away the truth of
how I feel. You walk behindme. I feel that heat. That's
why the girls don't walk behind medown the street. Because I'm an ass
(41:12):
man. Yeah, I'm an assman. Yes, I'm an ass man.
Oh. I love to love him. I love to kick him.
I love to shove him, loveto stick him, I love to flaunt
him, love to watch him.I love to pick him. And I'm
(41:36):
gonna kick him because I'm an assman. Yeah, I'm an ass man.
Yeah, I'm an ass man.Oh. Thank you, thank you,
thank you. That one was alittle tough to get out. Brings
up some painful childhood memories. Itreally doesn't thank you for that, and
(42:01):
Ricky, that's all I've got inme in the tank. For this week's
episode of the Beat Wonderful job,Greg, wonderful, wonderful job. I
appreciate it, sir, and Ihope you fans have enjoyed our poetry skills
as of late, and we wouldbe back with many more of these as
these are quite the delight to perform, aren't they, Ricky? They are
(42:21):
a lot of fun to say theleast. All Right, Well, without
further delay, fans, here isthe next segment coming at you. Welcome
back, fans. So Ricky justbrought up a point here as we were
looking through this, and he wasjust lamenting the fact that the business really
(42:45):
is forever exposed. The genie isout of the bottle. There's there's no
going back. And I argue thatI think, I think you actually could
have a product that you re educatepeople from scratch, like the closest,
and you'd get to people actually believingin big time fights. As if UFC
started fixing matches, do you knowwhat I mean? Like if UFC started
(43:07):
to make so much money become sohuge that that it started to pay them
to fix matches so their big starswouldn't get injured all the time. Yeah,
people out in today's world who knowUFC is real would believe those matches
were real even though they were predetermined. So in that way, that's the
closest thing you'd get to people believinga quote wrestling match was real. But
(43:29):
I have been fighting with myself sinceI started watching the new product two years
ago and kind of saying, whyisn't this the same? I know we've
spoken about this at nauseum, butthe other day it came to me.
I'm like, Oh, this reallywasn't that heart of a diagnosis. The
business is so exposed there there isno such thing as uh, you're not.
(43:50):
No one wonders how did they dothat? I wonder when they see
a magician, you know, yousay, oh my god, how did
he do that? I don't know, Like do they talk it all the
ring? Is it all planned out? Who's who's talking about now? Who
wants to go to a magic showwhere they say, Hey, before we
do these tricks, let me showshow you how we do them. That's
like saying, uh, yeah,David Copperfield sold out Madison Square Garden and
(44:12):
now he's playing birthday parties. That'slike to go from where wrestling was in
the late eighties and the late ninetiesto now they've lost Let's see, they
had ten million, they had tenmillion viewers in the late nineties. They
are now down to under two.And let's face it, if you're watching
it as an adult, even ifyou were in the eighties or nineties,
and see if you can follow whatI'm saying here. Deep down, yes,
(44:35):
you knew that this was Yeah, this was I don't want to say
stage, but there it was predetermined. However, it kind of was an
escape, however, and you couldvery easily get into the fantasy of it
really being real in that in thatworld. But now it's they're openly talking
about marriages and life outside of thebusiness and document I hate it. When
(44:57):
I was young and I would seethat, I thought the Undertaker Greg actually
lived in these arenas until it wastime to wrestle. I remember you're saying
that before. But that's the wayit should be. You know that that's
that means it's working. You know, it was believable. This was a
larger than life. Well now,but I believe I believe you could you
could start something up Like I hadthis crazy idea which I won't go into
(45:20):
on the show because we might actuallydo it at some point. But I
had this crazy idea about doing itlike doing a wrestling concept, but doing
it in a completely different setting andjust re educating somebody to a new product
that you could kind of believe in. It would be the same kind of
like over the top characters, crazystorylines, but it would be in the
context of two or two guys orgroups of guys fighting for prize money,
(45:43):
fighting for bragging rights. And Ihave this really crazy concept in my mind
that I may try at some point, but I believe it is possible to
re educate people on a brand newproduct and have something that is out as
outlandish. Is what we're looking atthese pictures of Chytown Rumble because in case
you no I fans, you caughtus in progress on a fantastic favorite segment
which we will make good on twothirds of our promise, and we will
(46:07):
see Ricky's favorite match of all timehere just a moment with Rick Flair and
Ricky Steamboat for the WCW or forthe NWA World title. And then in
a future show we feel we'll finallydo Sam Mitchell's favorite match as well to
Buried Alive from ninety six. Butwe it just got us on this,
you know, discussion because I'm lookinghere, I'm seeing Lex Luger, Kevin
(46:29):
Sullivan, Doctor Death, Microtano, the Road Warriors, Ricky Steamboat, all
these characters, all these colors, all these different settings, just on just
on a sampling of what part ofthe show you want to click on.
It's like entry into this fantastic worldand you just you turn it on now.
And I know, maybe to akid, like Sam said, like,
(46:49):
the thing that hooked him on wrestlingwas Wade Barrett in a tables match,
like that to me is like Sam'sconsiderably younger too when he well he
but I'm just saying, whatever itis when you're a kid and you see
it for the first time, Yeah, that's the magic in your memory.
Yes, So for Sam, WadeBarrett in a tables match again, Shamus
was magic, Whereas for me itwas Andre the Giant Hulk Hogan on Piper's
(47:10):
Pit where Andre turned on Hulk andI felt like these cartoon characters that I've
been watching on Hulk Coogan's Rock andWrestling, here's a real life thing and
they're mad at each other. Yeah, And as a kid, I got
totally hooked in by that. UhSo I don't know, man, I
just have to say that, youknow this this pulling behind the curt pulling
(47:30):
back the curtain completely and making itso they talk about it as though it's
like if you're gonna be doing aTV show called WWE, and then were
these regular people. I fucking ate. I know. It's like, it's
like if someone said, you knowwhat, we're just canceling pro wrestling,
and now that it's canceled for good, let's open up the curtain and explain
all the story where you can't haveboth. You can't have both, can't
do both. Now. Now,Vince's has held on a long time.
(47:52):
There were people saying when Vince essentiallyouted the business and it admitted to it
being predetermined, then on his ownthe show started talking about storylines and shit
like that, where basically the catwas out of the bag for wrestling.
He held on for another twenty yearsof massive success after that. You watch
so much of the WW are thesedocumentaries where it's like these shoots, these
(48:15):
shoot interviews. Why is the Undertakerallegend? Why is um Why is fucking
Edge allegend? Why is Randy orton? These? Because they keep that,
they keep having to go back toa time when people still believed it to
some degree, still got caught upin it. I guess it is a
better way to Sean Simmons and JBLWhat was that tag team APA? I
watched that, uh that segment thatthey had. I'm not sure it was
(48:37):
really good, but everyone knows aboutthe match when they went out there and
kicked public enemies ass Like, butI don't know. It's like, why
why does everyone have to know whyit happened? Like it was apparent it
happened, But why is it nowjust okay to say like I don't know,
Like, yeah, you know whatI mean. It's like we have
(48:58):
a chance of real heat when wesee the accolytes out there beating the fuck
out of someone. You were sittingthere and wonder, like I wonder what
public enemy did to piss the accolatesall so bad? But now it's like,
oh, are you wondering that.Let's tell you. Let's tell you
why. I'll tell you every detailis. I'm gonna give you every again.
It's like going to a magic showand the magician says, hey,
this is what how I'm going todo this trick, So let me show
(49:19):
you and please be entertained. Andthis is the best part. Greg,
come back next week, right, come back the same trick. Come back
next week and pay me more money. All right, Well, let's let's
get back to a time in wrestlingwhen when things were happy, the happier
times. Ricky, when did youdecide that you loved this here match?
I want to hear a little bitabout and why why this is? I
know you said the whole series reallyis your favorite, but if you had
(49:40):
to pick one, this is theone that stands out. What are the
things that you You've done a segmenton this show before about the smash with
Megan and the Women who Ate Wrestling, But just briefly, for anyone who
hadn't heard that episode, what doyou love so much about Steamboat and Flare
at Shytown Row? Well, Imean I was only a year old,
not you know, probably not Evewhen this came out, so I did
(50:00):
not see it obviously live. Isaw this match a few years ago when
I really started to get I digdeeper into pro wrestling, that there was
life and like early or like MIDWCW, so I started watching a lot of
late eighties stuff and I heard abouttheir their trilogy, and to me,
(50:22):
it was just the the athleticism andthe performance and the ups and downs and
keeping you intrigued um and it's likewow, like these are two guys that
really mastered their craft. No,it's funny because in your favorite match of
all time, Rick Flair has involvedIn my favorite match of all time,
(50:42):
Brett Hart was involved, and BretHart has gone on records saying he never
respected Rick Flair as a worker. He always thought he said he was.
It was thirty minutes of NonStop, non psychology in the ring with Flair,
which is so crazy, and Brettwas for the total opposite. Well,
Brett is one of the only guysto have said this, but I consider
Bret a true genius artist in wrestling. The difference, though, was Flair
(51:07):
called most of his ship outside ofhis big spots, his flip in the
corner and the flare flop and onthe figure four getting tossed off the ropes
outside of those key spots though, which he kind of was like that was
his homage to Ray Stevens. HeRick Flair made it up in the ring.
He would him and Terry Funk metchedso well because they had the same
(51:27):
kind of style where it was sorandom and they would just feel it and
go with it. Shawn Michaels oncecalled Rick Flair the King of the short
shoot. That meant that out ofnowhere he would shoot you into the ropes
with almost no room to move andhit you with something, or or call
you to hit him with something. And Sean said, you really had to
be on your toes to keep upwith Flair. But Brett really hated working
with Flair because they just had completelydifferent styles. Where Brett would tell Brett
(51:52):
would build a match like a screenplaywhere there was a beginning, a middle,
and an end in an all madesense, and he would accentuate certain
spots he would he would he wouldhit something special or tweak it a little
bit to accentually, whereas Flair.Flair's ship looks unorthodox and like natural because
he wrestles like it's a real fightand that like there is no flow to
(52:15):
But he's like amazing at selling andhe's just like the best thing I can
say. He's like a true performer, Like it's literally a performance with him,
it's a performance, but it's aperformance in the moment. He is
so good at going in there andcreating magic out of nothing. Now,
Flair had some stinkers like anyone else. And when he would go on to
do a five minute TV match andhe would just do the Flair spots,
(52:37):
You're like, why is this clownconsidered the best guy ever? But his
spots weren't like these big, overdramatic spots. They were, but still
it was it was the Flair spots. You got what you were. But
so he would have a five minutematch with Sting on TV and Sting would
press lam him ten times in thecourse of a match. But again,
people like that spot. You gotfive minutes, why not just hit him
with everything you like? It waslike the later Goldberg and brock Lesner matches
(52:59):
where they would hit six spears andten Germans and three jackhammers. But I
disagree with Brett that that that RickFlair was not brilliant. He was just
brilliant in a completely different way. It's like it would be like, um,
I don't know, it would belike John Houston, you know,
saying that saying that Jerry Bruckheimer wasa hack. Just two completely different styles.
(53:27):
You know. It would be likeSteven Spielberg saying that, you know,
he can't handle Quentin Tarantino or StevenSpielberg can't handle Martin Squorsese, just
two different kinds of styles. Soanyway, we're I say all that as
a precursor to watching this match. So when we talk about Flair, you're
gonna hear what You're gonna hear someexamples here what we're talking, and I
am gonna say that I think nowI'm I'm I'm nobody. I'm out of
(53:51):
his story. But I think fromwhat I've seen, the greatest maybe not
so much character, but the greatestin my opinion, in ring professional wrestler
do it all. Ricky the DragonSteamboat. Uh you know, Uh he
was fucking because I mean you whenyou talk about some of the greatest matches
(54:12):
of all time him and Savage,to me, Steamboat would fall. Steamboat
never worked. Hell so he did. He's not the same all around performer
as Shawn Michaels or a Randy Savageor Rick Flair, Bret Hart, people
that worked both sides of the fence. Uh, Steamboat was one of the
all time. I think the onlyperson that sells better than Ricky Steamboat was
Shawn Michaels and maybe rick Flair youcould say was in the conversation. Ricky
(54:37):
the Dragon steaboat was an amazing athlete. Everything he did look like fluid perfection.
So he's definitely he's definitely in thetop ten probably all time. Guys.
Uh to me, he doesn't quiteget up to that savage heart Flair
Michaels. Oh yeah, and againI'm avoiding. I'm not talking about sizzle
here. No, No, I'mjust saying I'm thinking wrestler U for my
(55:00):
taste. Gotcha, he would be, he would be maybe like number seven
or eight, but he's still up. He's still in the top ten for
sure. But I respect your opinionand you would have a case to make
with Ricky Steamboat. Um, well, before we before we make too much
of a case with this segment, maybe we should give the fans a little
what do you call that a timesignature on this network presentation. So you
(55:22):
go to on the network for thosethat don't know, it's in ring,
and then it's WCW pay per views, and then if you scroll down you'll
see um Dragon versus a Flair. So you want to it's WCW Chi Town
Rumble nineteen eighty nine, and thenyes, jump to Ricky the Dragon Steamboat
Rick Flair one fifty eight twenty four. That's where we are. And remind
(55:44):
me when this match ends, remindme to talk about Jim Ross at the
because I think Jim Ross the wayhe finished this match is five stars out
of five. We'll get to thatthe A. I just think Jim Ross
was awesome. Actually, forget wouldJim Ross is calling this, so that'll
(56:04):
be exciting to watch for all right, well, let's give him three to
one and go to town on thisfantastic favorite. Alrighty and three two one,
be a little volume on there,Ricky Uh the flashing Lights from nineteen
(56:24):
eighty Rick Flair's Rick Flair's theme hThus Spoke Zarathustra is the name of Rick
Flair's Rick Flair's entrance music. Itwas also the song used in two thousand
and one to Space Odyssey. Itwas a theme of that movie. And
there is Rick Flair looking as onlyhe can look in that classic red robe
(56:49):
with silver ornamentation. He's got thebevy of beauties there, Ricky on the
ramp. Note, I love two, I love the no led lights,
I love the no screens. Ilike seeing sh getting thrown at the heel.
I love shit getting thrown. Ilove I love the crowd being dark
like that. Yeah, like yousaid, like a true old school set
up. You know why it's goodthat the crowd's dark and the ring is
(57:10):
bright because the people in the ringlooked like stars already in the ring.
They don't even get to not tocut you off. I just saw that,
now, No, that's all right. So Rick Flair here for a
brief period was being managed by HeroMattsuda. You see him there. That's
the man who, when Hulk Hogantried to break into wrestling, actually broke
Hogan's leg and training to see ifhe would be tough enough to come back.
(57:32):
He did, obviously, So RickFlair was handed a dozen roses there
by one of the ladies in waiting. What would you even call Rick Flair's
hairstyle here? Is that? Isthat super mullet on steroids. I don't
even know if that's even considered amullet at that point. I mean,
it's just considered a beautiful mane ofplatinum. There is so much hang time
(57:52):
in the back. You got JimRoss on the mic there as you mentioned,
Rick, I can't wait for thatend of match call. But who's
he who's he commentating on this onewith? Who's he with Coddle? I
think so so packed house? Obviouslymy god, Oh yeah, where was
(58:15):
this Rosemont Horizon? Good question, let's find out. So it was.
I was definitely obviously in Chicago. There's Rick Flair took off his road to
reveal the Big Gold Belt. Ithink most synonymous with Rick Flair. When
people think of that belt, theythink immediately of Rick Flair. The UIC
Pavilion. Okay, so they probablydidn't think they could sell out the Horizon,
(58:36):
but they probably sold out the pavilionor game, which is now called
the Credit Union one arena. Ofcourse it is. He's damn corporations.
Corporations own it all. So yougot Steamboat in bright green, sort of
a deep bright green, Flair inred and black, and they're circling each
(58:58):
other and they finally lock up hereand I remember this match being just NonStop
action, Ricky, Oh yeah,I mean it's back and forth and so
again, Now, for those ofyou who aren't completely familiar with certain things,
the heel almost always calls the match. So Flare's call on this thing.
Steamboat's following. But these guys hadwrestled since the mid seventies. They
(59:22):
had a few in mid Atlantic overthe US title when they were both young
bucks. And here they were, you know, almost fifteen years later,
at the top of the number twowrestling organization in the world. This was
a year and a half removed fromSteamboat wrestling in front of ninety thousand people
in the Silverdome winning the Intercontinental Beltfrom Randy Savage. Here he is in
(59:42):
WCW in the world title picture. So right there, that kind of shows
you where WCW was, where astar in the middle of WWF was a
top star here. I always foundthat interesting too, how Steamboat kind of
jumped around for a little bit.Well, I have a theory that that
was probably related to his wife. His wife is known was known to be
very, very controlling and demanding behindthe scenes. And uh so they're talking
(01:00:06):
about some football player in the crowd, but you know who else is in
the crowd for this one was UncleDave Meltzer. You'll see when they go
out there and they're chopping the shitout of each other. You'll see Meltzer
in the crowd with a hideous permedmullet. Oh god, it's great.
Actually, you can see him rightthere. The next time we get the
hard camera shot, I'll show youhe's in the He's in the mint green
(01:00:30):
muscle shirt. There. I'm almostsure that's him. Yeah, that is
him. Do you see him rightright right where Steamboat is now? There
he is right behind the camera.Guy, I see him. That's Dave
Meltzer. So anyway, um,you've had a little bit of a little
bit of jockeying for the proverbial positionhere. Not much happened yet, just
(01:00:55):
a little bit of back and forth. But now you got a little chop
fest in there. Flair hit himwith one, Ricky, and Steamboat came
back with four big backdrop. Ialways thought Flair took the best backdrops too,
and he took him like nobody else. He almost he almost turned on
his side and ended on his hip. I have heard that the reason he
did it that way, Ricky wasbecause ever since his ever since he broke
(01:01:20):
his Yeah, in nineteen I thinkI think the back injury was seventy seventy
five seventy six. Uh, Icould have that date wrong, but ever
since that plane crash. Rick Flaira psychology here, you know that's oh
(01:01:40):
yeah, you don't see that anymore. You know, the steamboat had him
rocking and rolling. Then Flair immediatelyshut down the pace, pointed his finger
at steamboat and talked, some trashsteamboat just waiting there in the battle position.
Now they slowed it down. Theygave me time to breed, and
that's what that was. That's thepace changer. You were right. Uh,
the psychology was okay, I don'tlike that. You just wipe the
(01:02:00):
floor with me. So now I'mgoing to slow things down and I'm going
to control the pace again. Yes, it's very good. The human brain
can now process what's going on.Right, so important, so important in
something that we talked about during ourSUPERB Match show, you just don't see
any more. Transitions are gone.Less really does kill the pace. You
(01:02:21):
only have one pace anymore. Speakingof which, I'll say something a little
bit nice. I did watch thatstreet fight on this week's Dynamite or the
Falls Count Anywhere match Kenta and KennyOmega versus Moxley and Lance Archer, and
you ought to go out of yourway to see that one. Ricky,
I am almost a while a raw. I think I may start dabbling in
(01:02:42):
New Japan. New Japan's good.I find it to be a little bit
too much just wrestling and not enoughpizzazz because it's a different culture and I
don't know the language, so Idon't know what they're saying half the time.
But I will say this tremendous actionand they've got you know, they've
got the Americans there because I justcan't get in. I can't get into
(01:03:05):
a and I like I like anexed, but I don't know that's just boring
too. I'm just I'm very verybored with both promotions. I can I
can feel you there, and Iam too. Oh nice, nice move
there, Flair. Flair took himdown as the took Steamboat down as though
he's going to deliver an atomic drop. Steamboat held onto the head rolled,
(01:03:25):
rolled Flair through, and then theyrolled again into a headlock position. That
was a nice little, uh,very believable exchange that it would have ended
up that way. But anyway,Ricky, I would say, I wouldn't
recommend anything to you that I thoughtyou wouldn't like that. They took it
to another level with this crazy brawl. I would say it's worth while,
(01:03:46):
maybe I will check it out.So now here you have Steamboat showing some
frustration in there, he's got ahandful of Rick Flair's platinum blonde hair.
He's being backed into the corner byFlair. And by the way, they
a w also get like the surplusof talent out of nowhere. I tuned
in the other week and like halfthe roster I didn't know, well they
(01:04:06):
had there's been some of that.Yeah, they've brought in. They're still
bringing new faces in from the indies. You had almost the entire MWA roster
come over to aw Ricky Starks,Eddie Kingston, thunder Rosa to name three.
Alright, I know I said, wait till the end with Jim Ross.
But Jim Ross sounds so genuine andso excited when this stuff is happening,
(01:04:30):
unlike Michael Cole and who's the otherguy, Oh, Tom Phillips,
you know where it's just it's liketwo androids on there. Yeah, they
got to call him Michael Clone. But you know, Jim Ross is really
intriguing and making that Yes, thisis believable what we're seeing. But Jim
Ross's voice and his his twang andhis excitement, right, it's really like
(01:04:51):
making it real. Well, doyou remember hearing about when they were talking
about Terry Funk recently on one ofthe shows. They said, Uh,
Terry Funk had a switch that wouldflipp when the light went on or he
walked out in the curtain, aswitch would flip, and Terry Funk would
go into another zone and be alegitimately scary crazy man out there. I
think Jim Ross has that ability whenhe's on the mic to flip the switch
(01:05:13):
and get so into what he's seeingthat he really is excited, that he
really is invested. It's not allmanufactured affectation. Yeah, he's legitimately excited
because he flips his own switch andgets into the zone. That's why Jim
Ross is one of the greats. Not every announcer can do that. Michael
Cole got a little better over time. He wasn't completely insufferable, but now
(01:05:35):
that everybody sounds like him. Theannouncing for WWE's as bad as it's ever
bit is history. That's that's partof the reason too why I think it's
unwatched and NXT is horrible too.Ever, since they got rid of Um,
what's they got the Italian last namem Marco Ronalo. I liked him
because he was different. It soundeddifference. That's why I respected it.
(01:05:57):
But who they have of their now? Um the British guy, Oh,
it's way Barrett. And well Ilike Beth Phoenix. I think she's a
pretty good announcer. But but yeah, Barrett's not everybody's cup of tea.
I don't mind him. He's okay. Um, anyway, real quick,
Flair was getting bounced around again andthere he's out to take a powder again
(01:06:19):
and uh, see match, butit's still entertaining. It is. It's
not slow. It picks up,you know, but it maybe a better
way to say it is it's it'sa controlled pace. Yeah, you know.
So now Flair again again, thatcame right out of his head right
(01:06:41):
there, to to do the testof strength, to to to get into
a different formation or a different backand forth with Steamboat, hoping that he
can take the advantage because everything thathe's tried so far in this match.
That's kind of the story of thismatch so far, Rickie, is that
Flaire has tried everything and every turnSteamboat is out wrestled him. So Flair
keeps trying to start stop because hecan't quite figure out the dragon and that,
(01:07:03):
I believe me, that's all intentional. That's supposed to be the start
of this match, and I knowyou know, but it's like, that's
why Flair keeps stopping it. It'snot just because he doesn't know what else
to do. It's like in storyline, Rick Flair is trying everything you can
and he hasn't been successful in outwrestling Steamboat yet. So now whips him
(01:07:24):
across, Steamboat up to the middlerope, leaps over Flair and now big
hiptos coming up. Oh the oldbeautiful head scissors that was done? Wow?
Was that executed? Great or not? Drop kick also, and Steamboat
takes Flair over again with the headlock. That's that's Steamboat's main transition moving this
(01:07:46):
match. But yeah, you weretalking about how Flair takes the backdrop.
Apparently, ever since that plane crashwhen he broke his back, he always
took that sort of sideways bump outof like instinct, and then it just
became his trade mark backdrop bump.Well, that would definitely make sense,
but I think it looks true.It just made him look different while doing
it exactly, and it looked moreauthentic. I think. Yeah, just
(01:08:12):
as we finished talking about the planecrash, Jim Ross brings it up,
so that sounds like the back ofthe back injury was nineteen seventy seven.
So he just chopped Steamboat chopped theskin right off his chest. Now he's
(01:08:32):
laying some nasty elbows into his head. Steamboat returns the chops. This match
is known as you know, Ricky, since you love the match so much.
This match is legendary for the viciousnessof the chops between Claire and Steamboat.
And at one point they go rightout to Meltzer, who they wanted.
They knew he was there and theywanted to get mentioned for this and
the observer, so they actually gooutside the ring at one point. Soon
(01:08:55):
Yeah, in fact, Claire justgot chopped over the top rope. Steamboats
gonna follow him out, and thenyou're gonna see them lay some leather right
in front of Dave Meltzer. Iwonder what Meltzer games this match. I
think five stars, I'm almost sure. So Steamboats on the middle rope.
Flare is out there, he gotknocked out there. He's looking like he
wants to come back in. Ithought this was the section where they were
(01:09:18):
chopping the shit out of each otherin front of Meltzer. But Flare's making
his way back in already. Wait, I'm trying to see Meltzer again.
Meltz is right behind where Flair isright there in the sort of a mint
mint green T shirt top. Yeahit's hanging top or a T shirt,
but it's it's it's very strange greencolor. Believe me, you'll see him
(01:09:39):
again. So Flair getting in therereally slow. Tommy Young counting slow.
Flair, you could tell like he'sstalling to get back in. It's like
he's a little bit rock but hewas waiting for Steamboat to getting patient.
Steamboat chased him and then the Dirtiesplayer in the game grabbed Steamboat by the
angles. Now he's dragged him out, and here's those chops I talked about
Ricky right in front of Meltzer, eye gouging, and here you're gonna see.
(01:10:03):
Look at Meltzer react to it.Oh yeah, he's going nuts,
and you will see you will see, uh, you will see Steamboat's chest
here in a little while, likelike these guys were laying laying it in.
Flair smashed Steamboat into the guardrail.There. Flair's back in that curly
(01:10:24):
hair, right, yeah, yeah, he's right, guy in the black
T shirt. Yeah okay, souh and Rick Dave Meltzer was known for
being a Flair mark. He lovedthat, so he was sitting there selling
it because he really loved Rick Flair. Flair lays that elbow right into the
(01:10:45):
throat of Steamboat. You know, what an amazing athlete you were talking about
Steamboat being one of the best ever. What an amazing athlete. You remember
when he came back at WrestleMania twentyfive, years and years after his prime,
after after his career ending injury.Oh, you're gonna get that.
I gotta stop for this classic kneedrop from Flair. Oh, right on
(01:11:06):
the top. Always always, alwaysexecuted with precision. He had. There
was nobody with a better kne dropthan Ric Flair. Um. But anyway,
Steamboat came back years and years afterhis last WrestleMania performance. I think
the last WrestleMania he was at mighthave been four. Um, but anyway,
(01:11:26):
he came back at WrestleMania twenty fiveand fought Chris Jericho and he looked
god damn fantastic for being a guyin his holy shit, he wrestled at
WrestleMania twenty five. Yeah, itwas him, Roddy Piper and Jimmy Snooka
against Chris Jericho in a in alegend killer match. U. Jericho beat
Piper and snook A pretty quicken andthat part of the match was goddamn awful.
(01:11:48):
But then him and Steamboat had anice little uh had a nice little
section of the match which Steamboat lookedso great in and it was so good
that they actually followed it up witha singles match at Backlash a month later,
and then soon after Steamboat got injuredagain and then he never did come
back. I like when you canhear or you can see and hear the
(01:12:14):
heel calling the match. Yeah, sometimes you can see you can hear them,
like, you know, hide theirface and get a little close to
the baby faces ear So Flair justgot uh flipped over the ring post,
jumped up to the top rope bodypress Steamboat turned up. Yeah yeah,
well big body Press just got reversedby Steamboat Flair. Now right, Okay,
(01:12:38):
there's one of those random flare spots. Okay, Steve what was getting
some momentum? Flare just hit himwith something quick and now he hit the
adverted to time and drop and nowhe's locked in the figure floor very quickly.
Look how quick the paste just changedthere, And that was Flair just
getting the inspiration like no it's nottime, a little more heat, a
little bit, a little bit moreuh. And now of course a big
spot of the match. You thoughtSteamboat had it all well in hand,
(01:13:01):
and in fact Flair was just waitingfor his spot. He dropped him in
the atomic drop and he's locked inthe figure four and Flair is grabbing every
single one of the ropes for leverage. Tommy Young is checking on steamboat steamboats
in agony on the mat, TommyYoung not seeing the chicanery from Flair grabbing
the ropes for leverage. You gotdrunken frat boys doing the four Horsemen signed
(01:13:25):
in the crowd there. And Ican't stop looking at Dave Meltzer. Now
with that hair, he looks juststrange out there, doesn't he. He
looks like a lego. Wow Flair. Look how deep Flair's got that figure
four locked in. This is avery well executed Figure four by the master
of the figure four. Although Igotta tell you, Charlotte, who's my
(01:13:47):
favorite current wrestler, Ricky? Lookat that. If that were today,
Steamot would have lost. He's tappingout. But there were no tapouts back
then. You wing to verbally quitor pass out and become it out.
Uh, you don't see the arm? Remember the arm up? Yeah?
Checking the arm three times to makesure the guys still conscious. Uh.
But yeah, Charlotte, who's mycurrent favorite wrestler. She does the figure
(01:14:11):
four, only she bridges back anddoes the figure eight, and that is
one of the most beautiful looking movesin wrestler. I would say she's probably
the biggest star. I love Charlotte. What a fantastic star. She is
such a fantastic wrestler, so muchcharisma, great woman. She really is
the queen out there, you knowwhat I mean? Yep, But I
mean when you're Rick Flair's daughter, you know, sometimes maybe the apple does.
(01:14:34):
She's a great wrestler, But Igot a hand it to her.
She's unbelievable. So finally Tommy Youngcaught Rick Flair holding the ropes and made
him break the hold. And butbut, but I think you can clearly
say the damage has been done, and now Flair is strutting around. Now
(01:14:55):
he's feeling like, for the firsttime in this match, I have the
clear advantage, I have the higherground, I have the upper hand,
and he is kicking Steamboat in theknee, he absorbs a big shot from
Steamboat, a big shop, heabsorbs another one, still controlling him,
drops the elbow. But for everyshot now Flair's Steamboats coming back again,
(01:15:15):
and Flair the wrestler in the contextof this match, has to be getting
extremely frustrated. After all he didto take that advantage with the cheating and
the figure four Steamboat is now onceagain on the offense with Flair having to
defend, and that again is thestory of this match. That Flair just
couldn't figure him out, and there'sa blatively executed high cross body Steamboat caught
(01:15:39):
him. They both flipped over thetop rope. A lot of times that
spot would get screwed up when Flairwould try it. That one was flawless.
I really like how the real sportspresentation with the guys the table with
the belt sitting there, Well, you've got you've got, you've got the
judges out there in case this onewent to a drawl, the judges would
decide it. So three of them. You got the timekeeper like official NWA
(01:16:00):
judges. Yeah, I think PatO'Connor might be out there. Get You
got Gary Cappetto over there, whois next to the timekeeper. And then
you probably had a commission member dependingon what state. Well this was Illinois,
you probably had an Illinois Athletic Commissioncommittee member also at ringside somewhere.
Now, this was right before Iwant to say, this was right before
(01:16:28):
Flair took on Woman and Nancy Sullivanas his manager, where he's still being
managed by hero Matt Suitor. Thiswas after the Four Horsemen had broken up.
Arn and Toty were in the WWFat this point. So now Flair
looking to sup plex Ricky Steamboat backin after that high, beautiful vertical sup
plex there by Flair, you can'tsay anything about that sup plex. The
(01:16:55):
execution of that sup plex, itwas perfect. But yeah, Steamboat after
they flipped out of the ring together, got the worst the worst of it,
and Flair once again now has anadvantage, and he again has that
cocky look like, Okay, finallyI've got this guy where I won him,
and I'm gonna put him away andhe's gonna soften up that knee.
(01:17:15):
Ricky Steamboat was done for so Ithought he was gonna I thought he was
gonna do a knee breaker, buthe fell back with the backsup plex d
drove Steamboat's shoulders into the mat.Flair does a little pussy shove of of
Tommy Young. Tommy Young shoves himback and points to that referees badge,
saying, hey, I'm the lawin this ring. You might be the
(01:17:38):
world's champion, but I'm the guythat calls the shots in here and warning
Flair about grabbing Steamboat's hair. Flairnow backbreakers on the upper back. And
again, look how he flipped overSteamboat's body to get the pin and he
could put his foot on the ropesbehind Tommy Young. What great psychology here
(01:18:03):
by Flair. He's taking every singleadvantage he could possibly take, and he's
also showing the fans that he can'tquite figure this man's number out, and
he's every time he has the advantage, it's short, it's brief. And
look at that. He had theadvantage again for about four or five different
moves, and then Steamboat came throughwith a roll up. He just cannot
(01:18:23):
keep Steamboat down for any run ofmoves Flair cannot get. He cannot get
a string of things put together. He cannot hit his stride. Now I
think the back and forth really begins. So Steamboat missed a splash off the
ropes there, Flaire once again backto the stalking pace. But Flair cannot
(01:18:45):
string it all together here and puthim away. He can't get a flurry
going. He only get three orfour moves at a time, and once
again he's on the advantage, takeshim down to the mat side headlock,
but Steamboat immediately with the head scissorser flips out of that. Steamboat bridges
up. I hear that, Ohmy god, fifteen or twenty minutes into
a match like this, that isa hard as hell move to holy strength.
(01:19:08):
Yes, butterfly supplex by Steamboat.Flare is too close to the ropes.
You can already tell he's in positionto use that bottom rope to save
himself. And great timing too, like he put his leg on that rope
literally right at three. Yeah, right at three. So as you mentioned
(01:19:29):
back and forth chain wrestling, there, Flair tried a hip toss. Steamboat
caught his arm rolled around. Nowhe's setting him up for the backslide.
Flair lost the world title in eightythree to carry on Eric with this very
move and again again that that akickout attempt at two and then a second
one. It really looked like Flairwas struggling to get out of there.
A lot of reality in this one. So we're back to the chops now,
(01:19:55):
Ricky. I can't imagine how rawtheir chests must be after those.
Rick Flair used to have to actuallyput anti infection save on his chest after
some of these matches because his fleshwill be rubbed wrong. And he was
worried about staff. In fact, like, dude, if I would shop
you like that and then you wouldshop me like that, we would never
(01:20:15):
do that to each other ever.Again, my heart would explode before the
match. Steamboat just drove drove athrust shop into Flair's head, hits a
shoulder block. That was an unusualmove for Steamboat. That was a little
yeah, that was a little strange. So Steamboat going up to the top,
he's gonna hit either that Tomahawk chopor he's gonna hit the body press.
(01:20:39):
It's the Tomahawk. Flare sells itlike a brick just fell from the
sky. Everybody's standing up in thatfirst first row, including Uncle Dave.
But you know that tomahawk sets upthe body press, and now I'm a
fan at this point, and Isee the body press, and Tommy Young
gets white doubt. Now if I'ma fan at this point in nineteen eighty
(01:21:01):
nine, Ricky, I'm thinking,Oh, this is bullshit. They're gonna
fuck us on the finish. Refereesbump steaboats, gonna get the pin,
and they're gonna comes. No,it's a just qualification because Flair pulled the
referee and I and I would havefallen for it hook line and sinker.
But in the confusion, Flare rollshim up still no referee, and right
(01:21:24):
about now Flair is thinking, therewas my one chance to end this thing
and pin the guy, and Igot no goddamn referee. But he uses
the no referee situation to allow himselfthe opening to throw Steamboat over the top
rope, which was a disqualification atthis point. But now Steamboat's going back
up, He's gonna hit a secondbody press, misses it. He wiped
(01:21:45):
it out and Flair now feels it. He feels he can smell the blood
in the water. He went forthe figure four, but Steamboat with the
small package, Teddy Long jumps inand comes three. I hear what you
(01:22:11):
mean about Ross's Collie was so excitedthere, you know, Jim Ross made
it sound like you are truly watchingthe end of like a great Super Bowl
game or a World Series game, where even if I never watched wrestling,
this guy's voice is making me intriguedwith what's going on, and something really
special just happened. Yes, it'slike the Phillies win the Pennant kind of
(01:22:32):
thing, right, not like,oh yeah, you have to be a
wrestling fan to understand this. No, in case you don't watch wrestling,
this is a huge This is ahuge moment. Well, and you just
saw the crowd double pop there becauseyou got the win. But that you
could see even Flair was sitting inthe ring looking at Tommy Young's waiting for
him to reverse the decision. Thisthat knocked out. And then Tommy Young
(01:22:54):
doubles down and raises the hand ofSteamboat just as Teddy Long was raising his
hand, and then the fans newHoly shit, they're gonna let this one
go, and and they're gonna accept, They're gonna accept the pin, and
we got a new world's champion,Ricky Steamboat. Wow, what a great
match, Ricky. I could seewhy you love that one so much.
(01:23:15):
Yes, and then we're back hereto Jim Ross and old magnum That's who
was doing commentary on this one,Jim Ross and magnum Ta. And speaking
of mullets, I think magnum Tagave Flair run for his money. Yeah,
if he hadn't been gone on outof the spotlight after that terrible accident
in his Porsche, he might bethe all time mullet champion. I still
(01:23:45):
think young Jim were also looks likethe nicest human being in the world,
like the most approachable human being ever. He does look like a friendly blow
he really does. But what whatan exciting finish. Now you got Steamboat
in the back and that's the original, big old Look at the diamonds on
the low. Yeah, you gotreal rubies in there. What a beautiful
blows away. The WWF version wasa cheap imitation of that, So Ricky
(01:24:10):
Steamboat I believe does he get attackedhere? Ricky do you remember. Uh,
So the wrestlers came in with thechampagne. He got Lex Luker there
in a towel. Hopefully that doesn'tslip off. Uh. You got all
of them, Rick Steiner, oneor two other guys spraying the dragon with
champagne. Bob Coddle is getting gettinga little bath in there. Uh.
(01:24:32):
Steamboat now takes a big swig.Uh. Oh, look what he was
doing on his head there, Ricky, that's where you got it from.
So what a moment. And nowyou could tell Steamboat trying to talk,
but the champagne is stinging the shipout of his eyes. Look how red
(01:24:55):
his chest is. Oh my god, it's like it's like a fire truck.
It looks like he got the world'sworst sunburn. And now the champagne
is stinging the shit out of hiseyes. He's trying to deliver this victorious
interview, but he looks like he'sin total pain. And on top of
it, he was never really thatgreat on the mic. No, it
makes it even worse. Now he'sgot a towel to rub it out of
his eyes, and for the guyto back me. Over the years,
(01:25:20):
so Steamboat always seemed like a reallyhonest, humble guy. And look at
his chest. He certainly paid forthis world towel. And now look,
you jackals, can't you see thathe's the man's eyes are burning and they
keep pouring champagne on his head. They're blinding him. Ricky, Bob Hobbo
got the hell out of there assoon as he's going to be the first
(01:25:48):
man to have all right, well, Steamboat says he is not going to
duck any challengers, and Flair hasdo his rematch, and Sting just jumped
in there at the end. Butanyway, Ricky, that's that's gonna do
it for us. This week,I was really happy to see part two
of our three part Fantastic Favorite series, and that one was I remember that
(01:26:10):
being a fantastic match. Watching itback and seeing the flawless psychology, it
was better than I remembered. I'mglad you enjoyed it, and we are
going to do Sam's match next, the next one in the series of the
Fantastic Favorites. Until then, sir, do you have anything for our fans
at home? Do you have anyadditional to say this week? Or are
we have we said it all?I think we've said it all. It
(01:26:33):
has been a great, great weekof recording. This is the man of
bullshit and I will say happy trailsto you till we meet again. And
(01:27:00):
remember, fans, if you're notdown with the safe side, and you're
