SPEAKER_00 (00:05):
Welcome to Uncharted
and Unfiltered, The Journey Back
to You.
I am Cynthia Jameson, your host, and this is where we break free
from the noise and dive deepinto what truly matters.
You.
If you're tired of the shoulds, the expectations, and the
pressures to fit into a moldthat doesn't serve you, you're
in the right place.
This isn't a podcast about easyanswers or sugar-coated advice.
(00:29):
This is your invitation toreclaim your path, embrace the
unknown, and become the bold, unapologetic version of yourself
that's been waiting to show up.
It's time to get unfiltered.
Let's get started.
Hello, hello, and welcome backto the podcast.
We have got two threads tofollow today: one that looks
(00:50):
back and one that looks within.
First, I want to celebrate you.
Whether this is your firstepisode or your 171st, you are
part of a community of humanswho chooses to pause, reflect,
and lead with heart.
Then I want to take yousomewhere a little more personal
(01:10):
into a story about Saturnservice and how our deepest
purpose often reveals itself inthe quietest places.
So settle in, maybe take abreath, sip your coffee, or let
the rhythm of your walk steady.
And let's begin with a moment ofreflection.
When I started Who Are You toLead Anyway podcast, which is
(01:34):
what it was called at thebeginning back in January 2023,
I had no idea where it wouldlead.
Only that the conversations feltnecessary, real, human.
And over time, thoseconversations became a journey,
one that is now called Unchartedand Unfiltered, a journey back
(01:54):
to you.
And today, as I record episode171, I want to pause and
celebrate what we have builttogether.
Since that very first episode, this podcast has been listened
to 4,294 times across 54countries and 408 cities.
(02:20):
And that absolutely fills myheart.
Let me tell you why.
I was reminded this morningduring a conversation with some
folks at the end of our run thismorning.
I can't remember how we gothere, but we did, talking about
where we were born.
And for me, I was born in areally small fishing town in
(02:43):
Portabasque, Newfoundland.
And there were 4,000 people.
That was the population.
And so when I take this momentto step back and think about my
life.
And I think about what I justshared with you.
I am just so honored, soprivileged to be able to be here
(03:08):
speaking to you, doing thiswork.
And from the beginning, mypromise to you has been simple
to share real moments andhard-won lessons from my own
path, to bring you stories fromother leaders, to offer tools
that you can actually use inyour everyday leadership and
life, and to remind you tobelieve in yourself, especially
(03:30):
on the days that it's hardestto.
And that promise hasn't changed.
It has only deepened.
Because it's never been aboutnumbers, it's been about
meaning.
Each one of those downloadsrepresents a moment of
awareness, a breath, a reframe,a ripple towards self-trust and
(03:50):
authentic leadership.
And that's why it matters somuch.
So we are just 706 downloadsaway from the next milestone.
But the real goal has alwaysbeen something much bigger to
raise consciousness, to changethe world of work, one leader,
(04:11):
one breath, one truth at a time.
We're the good of all.
Now, before we dive into what Iwant to share with you from a
personal perspective, I want toshare a few notes from you
because you are the heartbeat ofthis work.
So, in no particular order, great episode.
(04:31):
Love the quick, clear messageand story.
Delray Beach, Florida.
Thank you.
I have no idea how to rate apodcast.
Have I got something for youlater?
But I quite enjoyed the episodetoday.
Thank you for the insights fromFredericton, New Brunswick.
And this one came in last week.
Ooh, this one resonates.
(04:52):
Now I want to invite you intothe visual because I'm going to
share what they've said sharedwith me.
Walking across the bridge, shouting, yes, yes, yes.
Thanks, girl, for keeping usreal.
And I just want to say thank youso much.
And I also took a look at ApplePodcasts and will read snippets
from the reviews so that I canshare them with you and say
(05:15):
thank you.
So I just found this podcast andit's fabulous for all leaders,
seasoned and new.
Cynthia offers such actionableadvice and new ways we can think
about ourselves as leaders.
Great tips and tools forleaders.
I love how you share from theheart.
(05:36):
Thank you.
You're welcome.
An invaluable resource foranyone seeking to enhance their
leadership skills.
Truly a treasure trove ofwisdom.
Every time that I read yourwords, I am reminded that this
isn't just a podcast.
It is a gathering place forpeople learning to lead from
(05:58):
truth and attention.
So truly, from my heart toyours, thank you.
Thank you, thank you, thank youso much.
And if this podcast has evermade you pause to breathe or
feel seen, there are two simpleways to support the journey
forward.
First, you can leave a review onApple Podcasts.
(06:20):
It just takes a minute, but itreally makes a big difference.
Here's how you can do it.
Open the Apple Podcast app, search for Uncharted and
Unfiltered Journey back to you, scroll to ratings and reviews,
tap the star rating that youfeel called to give, and then
tap on, write a review and sharea few words about what has
(06:42):
landed for you.
What is it that you enjoyed, oreven what other things you would
like me to speak about?
But each review tells Apple, thebig machine, that this show is
worth sharing with more people, which means that you help it
reach the hearts and leaders whoneed it most.
(07:04):
Second, you can now become amonthly supporter.
So if you would like to helpkeep the show independent, which
at this point I have no plans onchanging that, and heart led,
you can help support it for aslittle as three, five, eight, or
ten dollars a month.
And your support helps me do itall.
Create it, editing, reflecting, and sharing the stories with
(07:25):
honesty that they deserve.
And any money would bereinvested into the shared
mission, which is to grow amovement of authentic, conscious
leadership from the inside out.
One that our children and ourgrandchildren and our
grandchildren, you know, like itkeeps going.
So thank you so much forlistening, for sharing, and for
(07:47):
walking this journey back toyourself alongside of me.
And cheers.
Here's to the next 171 episodes.
And now let's get into today'sepisode because I think you're
really gonna like it.
Okay, let's take a pause and abreath in for a moment.
After four decades of HR, Ihonestly thought that I had
(08:13):
taken every personalityassessment that existed.
Myers Briggs, um, disc, strengths finder, success
finder, predictive index, tilt.
There was something else calledstrong.
You name it, I've administeredit, I've debriefed it, or I have
(08:33):
used it to build awareness inindividuals and teams.
And for an incredibly long time,I believed that those tools
could tell me everything Ineeded to know about people,
including myself.
And they were helpful, ofcourse.
They showed me how I think, howI communicate, where my
(08:54):
strengths, where myopportunities are.
But last week I discoveredsomething that went far deeper
than personality.
Something that touched the whybehind how I serve.
And it came from a completelydifferent kind of map.
(09:15):
My birth chart.
So if you have ever wondered whyyour career path doesn't quite
make sense on paper, or whyyou're drawn to things that
don't fit inside your job title, you're gonna want to stay with
me for this one.
Now, I've always been fascinatedby what makes people tick.
(09:40):
I have spent more than 40 yearsstudying humans.
That is why I went into HR, tounderstand people, to help them
grow, to create systems wherethey could thrive.
And underneath all of that, justhand on heart, to understand
myself.
So I have spent decades usingassessments and frameworks to
(10:01):
understand behavior, how teamsand individuals function, how
leaders lead, how individualsnavigate pressure.
But even after thousands ofconversations and hundreds or
thousands of profiles, there wasstill something that data
couldn't capture.
It couldn't explain why somepeople, including me, felt
(10:25):
fulfilled doing invisible workwhile others needed to shine in
a spotlight.
And I want to be super clear oneof these is not better than the
other, they're just different.
I was looking for insight intolike why my why, and this tool
helped me find that.
So the the assessments that Itook couldn't describe the inner
(10:49):
call that whispers, you're meantto serve in a different way.
You're meant for more.
And I'll be super honest here.
I did not expect astrology to bethe thing that helped me name
that, but it was.
So I follow an astrologer namedCasey Danay, K-A-C-E-Y, I think
(11:10):
is how she spells it, D-A-N-A-E,on Instagram.
She is also an herbalist and ahuman design consultant.
And you know, if you have been alongtime listener, that I dabble
in all sorts of things to raisemy own awareness about myself.
And she was talking aboutsomething called the 10th house.
And in astrology, it's the partof your chart that points to
(11:34):
your career, your purpose, andyour public legacy.
Not the title you hold so much, but the energy behind how you
serve.
And I thought, why not?
I've taken every otherassessment.
What's one more?
So I went to a free birth chartcalculator.
I used AstroSeq, but you canjust Google one.
(11:54):
Enter your birth date.
You need the exact time andlocation of your birth, and then
you click calculate and justscroll down to where it says the
10th house.
It's that simple.
And when I did mine, Idiscovered that the ruler of my
10th house is Saturn.
So it could be a differentplanet for you, but that's the
(12:16):
purpose of this whole podcastepisode.
So when I read what that meantfor me, I actually teared up.
And here's what it said.
I'm going to share it with you.
These individuals often pursuecareers that are hidden,
symbolic, or inwardly driven.
They may work behind the scenesor environments of quiet care,
(12:39):
such as hospitals, spiritualinstitutions, film production,
or retreat spaces.
There is often an air of mysteryaround what they do, yet their
impact can be profound.
Over time, they may discoverthat their calling involves
healing, storytelling, orilluminating the unseen.
(13:03):
And as soon as I read that, Ijust my entire body exhaled.
And I thought, that's me.
I felt seen and heard in a waythat I hadn't before.
And after years of being on thefront lines, in boardrooms, in
meetings, in restructures, mydeepest joy lives in the quiet
work, and it always has been:
holding space for people, their (13:28):
undefined
problems, their challenges, their desires, their dreams,
their visions, holding space fortransformation, helping people
reconnect with their truth andeliminating what they can't yet
(13:48):
see.
And it was this moment ofrecognition, like someone had
turned a light on in a room thatI had been sitting in for years,
but just didn't know there was alight to turn on, and had never
really looked around for thelight.
And it helped me understand whyI am so drawn to the things that
(14:10):
I am drawn to, why I use Oracledecks, for instance, why I chose
to study with the Institute ofIntuitive Intelligence, and why
I completed their methodpractitioner program.
That is where I learned to meetand release subconscious fear,
the kind that keeps so many ofus from trusting our own wisdom.
(14:34):
And I want to pause here for amoment because I think I skip
over this sometimes.
Not every one of us is going tobe a geek about meeting and
releasing subconscious fear.
And that's totally okay.
But I'm a geek about it.
(14:57):
And that's what this path reallyis.
It's this continual practice ofreturning to the things that we
need to see for ourselves, ourown intuition, to that quiet,
steady knowing that has alwaysbeen there beneath the noise.
(15:19):
And now I have additionallanguage for it.
So in corporate HR, I livedinside of systems, much like you
have metrics, frameworks,protocols, processes.
And now I work with humans.
I work with souls.
And the thread that runs throughboth of them is Saturn's wisdom,
(15:43):
structure with soul.
And that's what my coaching is.
It's creating containers strongenough to hold the space for
transformation, but soft enoughto invite the unseen in.
(16:23):
That's the energy that I bringto every session.
A calm, depth, presence, and thequiet assurance that says,
you're safe, you can unravelhere.
And I've had many, many clientsdo that.
And I hadn't really recognizedthe gift in that.
(16:43):
Because if you can't sharewhat's on your mind and your
heart with yourself or out loud,it's really incredibly hard to
be able to release the hold thatthat has over you.
And maybe that's why Be theLight feels so sacred to me.
(17:06):
Because it's not aboutfollowers, it's about space.
Space for leaders, entrepreneurs, and change makers
to pause long enough to seewhat's been hiding for them
underneath all of the doing.
And maybe that's Saturn too, calling us back to the work
that's not loud, but lasting.
(17:30):
And so if you've ever feltunseen or out of place in a
traditional system, if thepersonality test never quite
captured who you really are, orall of you, this is your
reminder.
You're not wired wrong.
You're wired for depth.
And you can totally try this foryourself.
(17:50):
You can go to the birth chartcalculator, enter your birth
date, time, location, clickcalculate, scroll to the 10th
house.
Sometimes it's called themidheaven or MC, but be sure to
look for the ruler of the 10thhouse.
That planet carries clues abouthow you're here to serve.
And when you read it, noticewhat lands.
(18:13):
Not what your mind thinks, butwhat your body says, how it
responds, because that's usuallywhere truth lives.
And if you find yourself wantingto go deeper with this work, to
explore how your unique wiring, intuition, and leadership path
come together, thatconstellation, this is exactly
(18:36):
what we do in my one-on-onecoaching containers.
I help high-integrity heart-ledleaders move from pressure to
presence to power, to learn howto trust their inner compass,
release what's been running inthe background, and lead from
calm, grounded confidence.
If this conversation resonated,or if you felt something land in
(18:59):
your body, I would love to walkbeside you as you bring that
awareness into practice.
And you can book a free claritycall through the link in the
show notes or on my website.
And so as I look back on my HRchapters, my coaching work, my
leadership, and this beautifulmove to New Brunswick, it all
(19:20):
makes so much more sense now.
And if that's you too, if you'resomeone who quietly holds the
world together while no one'swatching, please know that your
work matters.
You are the bridge betweenwhat's seen and unseen, and the
world needs that kind of servicemore than ever.
So until next time, keeplistening to your inner compass
(19:41):
and keep walking your path, evenif it looks nothing like anyone
else's.
Because maybe that's exactly thepoint.
Take care.
I hope that you're walking awayfeeling more aligned with your
true self, more confident in thechoices ahead, and ready to
leave the safe path behind, knowing you've got everything
(20:04):
you need within.
Remember, the journey to youisn't about finding one perfect
direction.
It's about trusting yourselfenough to explore all of it.
