Today we’re getting under the hood with Dr. Priyanka Upadhyaya is a mother, daughter, sister, women’s well-being advocate, and clinical psychologist committed to helping individuals, couples, and families lead more balanced, fulfilling lives. With over 15 years of experience, Dr. Upadhyaya’s expertise lies in integrating evidence-based therapeutic approaches with mindfulness, trauma-informed care, and culturally responsive practices.
Dr. Upadhyaya’s career began at Rutgers Behavioral Health, where she supported marginalized communities and dual-diagnosed clients, helping them transform trauma into pathways for healing and growth. At NYU Langone Medical Center and Bellevue Hospital in New York City, she worked with survivors of 9/11 within a multidisciplinary program, contributing to public health initiatives and developing a highly sought-after pre-doctoral trauma-focused internship under Bellevue’s prestigious psychology training program.
Currently, Dr. Upadhyaya leads her private practice, Thrive Wellness & Mediation, where she specializes in empowering high-achieving professionals, parents, and couples to overcome burnout, manage stress, and align their personal and professional lives. Her unique therapeutic coaching blends psychology with a mind-body-spiritual perspective, guiding her clients—primarily women—to achieve self-directed goals and build resilience in their roles as mothers, sisters, professionals, and partners.
Beyond her clinical work, Dr. Upadhyaya is a passionate educator and advocate. She has facilitated workshops on mindfulness, trauma recovery, parenting, and cultural competence. Her philosophy centers on fostering meaningful connections, celebrating diversity, and helping others thrive in their health, relationships, and careers.
