In this episode of Unexplained Arkansas, your host Lisa and special guests Elaine and Cody from Cryptids Across The Atlas Podcast as they discuss the Gowrow--an Arkansas Cryptid.
According to Vance Randolph; reports of the Gowrow go back to the 1880's. The Daily Arkansas Gazette on January 31, 1897; published a news article written by Elbert Smithee. Elbert outlined a story about a Little Rock businessman who had traveled to the Ozark area of Arkansas, specifically a small town named Blanco in Searcy County. There Miller heard ghastly stories of a green monster that had been killing livestock and even people.
Allegedly, in the article it stated that William Miller took a photo of the monster--a drawing of this photo was posted in the newspaper and is the thumbnail for this episode. He then stated that he and the townspeople killed the monster after finding the monster in a cave with human and animal bones.
Wiliam Miller, then stated, he had sent the photo and even the bones of the Gowrow to a museum in Washington D.C. but the evidence never arrived there and was lost....
