about the haunting of Jackie Hernandez.

(01:50):
In the fall of 1988, Jackie Hernandez found herself fully
immersed in a disastrous marriage.
Pregnant with her second child and caring for her then
two-year-old son. Jamie, she made the
life-changing decision to leave her husband and moved to San

(02:12):
Pedro. California.
In November of 1988, Jackie and her two-year-old son Jamie moved
into an old turn-of-the-century Bungalow in San Pedro,
California immediately after moving into the home, strange

(02:37):
activity began to occur. One of the beds repeatedly would
collapse and fall with no apparent reason.
At times Jackie overheard, muffled voices coming from the
attic and the family cat would run through the home as if it
were chasing something on the walls.

(03:02):
One particular day. Jackie had a friend over
Christina. While the two were washing
dishes, the walls appeared to bedripping in odd, blood like
substance, Jackie herself witnessed things fly through her

(03:23):
home. Particularly pencils, would fly
out of a pencil holder after Jackie gave birth to her
daughter, Samantha, in April of 1989, the activity grew worse,
with or Herbs Mist, strange smells and apparitions.

(03:48):
Jackie also began having very vivid dreams of a young man in
the San Pedro Harbor. She described the setting in the
dreams to be of the 1930s. And the young man was being
clubbed to death. In some of these dreams.

(04:12):
Jackie became the young man. Reliving, his experience of
being clubbed with a lead pipe then held under water to drown.
One night after a dream, Jackie woke in the night, he used the
restroom and saw an old man snarling at her and then he

(04:35):
vanished Into Thin Air. On another evening after putting
her children to bed. Jackie encountered an apparition
form out of the darkness. A face, then a full body of an
old man. She felt strongly that this

(05:00):
wasn't too friendly spirit and could see the coldness in his
eyes. As the activity carried on
including water, like substance is pouring out of the light
fixtures and picture frames, flying off the wall, she knew

(05:21):
she had to seek help. So she reached out to a team of
paranormal investigators led by dr.
Barry Taff. Dr. Taff holds a doctorate in
psychophysiology with a minor inbiomedical engineering.

(05:47):
He's a world-renowned parapsychologist.
Dr. Taff brought a small team that included paranormal
investigators. Including cameraman Barry Conrad
and photographer, Jeff wheatcraft.

(06:11):
On August 8, 1989, dr. Taff and his team arrived at the
San Pedro, home of Jackie Hernandez, and her two children.
The team brought cameras infrared detectors, as well as
other equipment to assist in their investigation.

(06:36):
During the initial interviews. Dr. Taff stated that the team
heard what sounded like a 200-pound rat running around in
the Attic. Other team members recall
feeling pressure similar to being underwater.

(06:59):
During the evening, a photographer explored, the
Attic. And his camera was unexplainably
ripped out of his hands by an invisible force.
The lens was found separated from the camera body.
The second exploration of the addict was performed by

(07:22):
photographer. Jeff wheatcraft, who was also
attacked by an unknown Force. We'd craft had a clothes line
wrapped around his neck and the line was hanging from a nail.
Team member Gary was able to free wheatcraft from the line.

(07:49):
The team was able to obtain short video footage of we craft
hanging from the attic ceiling The team also has proof of the
objects moving balls and streaksof light.
In the fall of 1989, Jackie left, the San Pedro home and

(08:13):
moved to Weldon in Kern County. Her husband made an attempt to
work through their marital issues and the move to a new
home seem to end the haunting. Jackie, finally felt comfortable
and believe life was going back to normal.

(08:37):
But within just a few short months, the marriage was in
turmoil again. Jackie found herself alone.
Once again, as her husband had left the home.
The home in Weldon was a remote location and Jackie had little

(09:00):
to no friends or Neighbors. Many days, she spent hours on
the phone chatting with her friends from the Los Angeles
area. One day, Jackie moved a TV into
a storage shed with the help of a few neighbors.

(09:24):
When moving the TV, the three saw the image of an old man on
the screen. According to Jackie, it was the
same old man. She'd seen in the San Pedro
home. That same night Jackie was kept
awake by a loud pounding sound coming from the shed.

(09:48):
Jackie called the investigators. And once the team arrived at the
trailer and Weldon, they began experiencing disturbances within
their equipment, Though, Jackie's new home was over 300
miles away, it appeared the hauntings had begun again.

(10:14):
The investigative team used a Ouija board.
The board told them, it was a spirit of a young man who died
in San Pedro. The same young man that Jackie
dreamed about. The spirit indicated that he was

(10:34):
murdered in 1930 at the San Pedro Harbor.
And his murderer lived in the San Pedro home that Jackie used
to live in the session. Ended when Jeff wheatcraft was
thrust into the air and thrown against a wall inside the

(10:55):
trailer home. He abruptly hit the floor and
was unconscious. Once awake he stated he felt
something squeezing his diaphragm then remembers hitting
the wall and being unconscious. Jackie decided she needed to

(11:20):
take action before anyone else was injured.
She began researching old newspapers to determine who the
spirit of the Ouija board was finally, she found a story
regarding Herman Hendrickson, a young sea man whose body was

(11:43):
found floating in the San Pedro Harbor on March 25th 1930.
Are there research LED Jackie tobelieve that the murderer may
have been a man by the name of John Damon?
He built the home. She lived in, in San Pedro, in

(12:08):
the spring of 1990, Jackie visited.
San Pedro. Once at the cemetery, she saw a
ball of light that led her to a gravestone.
The gravestone was for John Damon.

(12:29):
Since then, the hauntings have stopped.
Dr. Taff has always believed that Jackie was a magnet for
poltergeists as a result of her emotional issues that were
occurring in her life. It was said during the time, the

(12:49):
investigation team was present Jackie developed romantic
feelings towards Barry Conrad, which resulted in the attacks on
Jeff wheatcraft. Jeff and Barry were very close
and always together, which may have caused emotional distress
for Jackie causing the Poltergeist to attack him.

(13:17):
We will never really know what caused these hauntings.
And why did they stop? Could the spirits have settled
once the names of the spirits were known.
I guess we just leave this to the Realms.

(13:37):
Don't The Unexplained. Very interesting.
The spirit world reaching out tofind Justice, such an intriguing
subject and 100%, unexplained therefore fitting, the genre of

(14:01):
our podcast. All right, I feel like she might
have been a medium or unbeknownst to her a psychic.
I agree. It seems apparent that she was
sensitive to the other side and the spirit knew it.
Yeah. Dr. Taff had, felt that because
of her emotional state. At the time, she was opening

(14:22):
herself to a poltergeist, but a poltergeist is more energy
rather than his spirit that wants had human form with her
emotional state. As it was at the time.
He could have unlocked somethingin her Mind's Eye to see
spirits, even just for a moment. It seems.
