(00:25):
Thank you to all five of youfor listening to Uninfluenced. It's a pleasure
to be here with you today. And before we get started, let's talk
about my new book, The RuggedLife. It's available everywhere books are sold.
You can probably steal it pretty cheap, if you know how to steal
things. Slight of hand comes inhandy. I've talked about it many times.
I was a magician when I wasa kid. Let me tell you
(00:47):
so much. All right, let'sget started with this thing. I thought
it was The Rugged Life. Yeah, it's however you want it. Yeah,
you can pronounce it like that.Actually, I was telling Matt here
about the producer when I was doingthe audio book, and this guy was
correcting me because in the book,I talk about how to make your own
tampons, how to make your ownlike feminine products, and and of course
(01:11):
you have to stay you know, menstruation cycle, right, And he was
just menstruation. Menstruation is what hewas correcting me. Menstruation cycle, menstruation
cycle. And I couldn't get itright. And I was about to go
through the microphone because he's in NewYork and I was recording here in Dallas,
and I wanted to like kill theguy, but he just kept correcting
(01:33):
all of these words. And nowin the audio book, I will be
saying these words like I would neversay them in real life, but for
the book, it made him happyand that's all that really matters. At
a point, can you be like, hey, dick face, this is
my book and this is how I'mgoing to say it. I kind of
said that to him. Yeah.I had a moment with him and I
was like, where are you andhe's like New York. I said,
(01:53):
okay, I'm in Texas and wedon't talk like that. Yeah, I
don't talk like that. I fuckwords up. That's part of my personality.
Butcher names all the time. Yeah, let me Butcher the name.
I mean, that's one of thereasons I did the I did my book
not in audio format. I'm justrecording it in the micro drop studio,
(02:13):
and like I throw words in thataren't even in the book, and you
know, pronounce things a certain wayor like add I'll be like editors note,
like I've changed my opinion since thisand fuck you, Like I'll throw
something in and then I do likea synopsis at the end of just kind
of explaining right, you know whatever, and that's it, and I just
put it out as a fucking podcastepisode, you know. Smart. Yeah.
(02:34):
Their their job is to make sureyou read every single word exactly as
it is in print and you arenot allowed to deviate, which is just
nuts to me. If you wantto do a new version, we can
do that now. I'll be theguy on the headphone. I couldn't even
pronounce that great job job yeah.Yeah. So right here, I want
to point out that you have magazinewhere it should say clip yeah, yeah,
(02:57):
exactly. Well, so one thingbefore we get into cars and bikes
and whatever, if you can giveif you want the detailed description of the
Rugged Life. I just had Clinton mic Drop, so check that episode
out. This will actually probably airbefore the mic Drop episode, So if
you want to just give them aquick down and dirty on what the book
is about, then we'll get intothe other stuff. Yeah. The Rugged
(03:19):
Life really is the answer to thepandemic. It's the it's the answer to
crisis, it's the answer to lazinessand complacency. It's really just to get
people to take more ownership and selfreliance. And I think once they do
so, they will naturally create anair gap between the next global event.
(03:40):
And you know, the more thingsyou do for yourself, the less you
rely on others, and therefore youare now self reliant. And the book
gives you a taste. Right,It's like you can dip your toe or
you can dive all away your dick. I mean that's right. Could you
read the ten chapters real quick,Matt, and just so people have an
idea of what like, Oh,just read the whole book, just real
(04:05):
quick, just speed read it likeyou're the micro machines guy. Not sign
up for that. Fuck, Ican't read. It's in the front.
It's at the front table of contents. Words. It reminds me of be
with some butt head. I'm lookingone more or another one. There we
go, there we go. Oh, because you did it all colorful and
(04:27):
it's pretty like this is well worththe twenty eight dollars I'm charging on our
site. Be your own builder Chapterone, Be your own power grid Chapter
or two. Chapter three. Beyour own farmer. There that's a website.
Chapter four. Pretty much it's allbe your own butcher. Be your
own butcher chapter five, Be yourown hunter, Chapter six, Homemaker Chapter
(04:54):
seven, protector chapter eight rto justradio communicator base. Yeah, nine,
first responder and ten handyman. That'sright. You should have definitely put first
responder after a hunter. They couldhappen. Yeah, but uh yeah,
I just wanted to add it.You know, it's it's a great book.
(05:15):
There's lots of really good illustrations.Everybody listening right now, all six
of you, because we did pickone viewer up. That's it. Go
ahead and buy that fucking book orchoke yourself. Yeah, that's right.
And if you go the Rugged LifeMan, if you go and you put
promo code uninfluenced, you get nothingoff and there you actually paid more.
Yeah, there's an extra shipping charge, right, extra handling. All right.
(05:35):
So, uh, you know thisis our car and bike show.
We talked about all things bike andcar related in politics and Q and A
and whatever. But you've had apretty lengthy experience experience in the military with
getting to do driving schools and mobilityand ship as well as growing up driving
(05:55):
pretty fucking crazy. We've driven alldriven together a few times and witnessed your
i'll say prows as well as alack of self preservation, you know when
when driving can you shed some lighton kind of what what role motorcycles and
cars have played in your early lifeand then moving into the military, just
what you've done with them. Ohgosh. I mean as a kid,
(06:18):
as you know, I grew uplearning how to ride a motorcycle. It
was a gold Wing, you know, so you know, you had all
the hard bags and full stereo, and you know, this was the rule
that your dad said, you canride it when when you can pick it
up off the ground. So helaid it over under the side yard on
its side gently and he's like,if you can pick it up, you
(06:40):
can ride it. So I dideverything I could to pull and you know,
leverage and you name it, andmanage to get that thing up off
the ground. And then he putit up on its high center kickstand,
which used to be pretty standard ona lot of bikes. They don't.
Don't think they do it anymore.Um And in the garage, I'm just
running through the years with that backtire about you know, six inches off
(07:01):
the ground, which was kind offucking stupid, but learning of the gears.
And he's like, yeah, that'sgood. And meanwhile he's working on
his car while I'm running through gearsand and then uh, that was it.
That was my lesson. And thenfrom then on out, I've been
riding bikes. I've never once hada motorcycle license. I'm proud of that,
and I don't really think it's necessary. But motorcycles was probably the start,
(07:27):
you know. And then my dadcollected tried you know, Triumphs and
Bsas and some BMW's and and soI was you know, the brit bikes.
Everything was backwards, so the gearswere on the opposite side, you
know, and so it was Ibecame a little ambidexterous at motorcycle riding early
on. You know, almost hadaccidents pretty much all the time. And
(07:50):
that's when I learned it. Okay, make sure you're upright, make sure
your tires straight in front of youcenter before you hit the brakes, because
if you're tilted or that front tirehas turned, it could lead to a
totally different experience. And and thenon the flip side with cars, I
had a nineteen seventy osmobile as mygrandfather's was a ninety eight, so it
(08:11):
was a yard short of being thesame length as a limo. Most of
that was most of that was thetrunk which I had a single size mattress
with a rebel flag flying, whichwould not go well today, but you
know that's the was that that's thenineties, right, so nobody cared about
that ship back then. But yeah, that thing had the huge steel bumpers
(08:35):
on the front and the back.I could literally run over anything I wanted
and it didn't affect that car gota lot of accidents. And then when
my parents got divorced, my momran off to be a race car driver,
and so she used a big,a large sum of my dad's money
to buy race cars and became likeone of the only women on the SECA
circuit and was actually winning. Andthen I ended up with one of those
(08:58):
cars. It was she got asponsored by a Zuzu and they had this
little sports called car called an Impulse, a Zuzu Impulse, and so she
gave it to me and had rollbars in it and a little, uh
you know that stick in window thing, and then it had fire stringers are
hanging from one of the roll bars, and it had this little gyro machine
(09:20):
built into it that I thought waspretty cool and ahead of its time.
But you would put that in andthen drive a track, and then it
would turn around and tell you basicallywhat the top speeds you could do,
all the turns at, and gaveyou a lot of data that's like you
can kind of leverage right, Andso of course it had all that in
there. So here I am drivingthis little fucking a Zuzu Impulse stick.
(09:41):
It wasn't all that fast, butit was fast for me. And the
first day I'm like, I'm gonnago show this off because I've been driving
that big ass Rolesmobile and everybody knewme by that car. And so I
start driving. I get on oldcustom road here in Plano, and I'm
threading the needle, weaving in betweencars, and I'm coming up on the
(10:05):
ass of a car and it decidesit's going to go into the right lane
after I had already committed to theright lane. So of course I overcorrect.
I come across to the left lane. Then I hit the median.
The median ramps me into uncoming trafficand I basically land on the hood of
this car coming towards me, aboutkilled the lady inside the inside the car.
(10:26):
And when I hit the median, the center the median was rounded and
came to kind of like a roundedpoint. So that caught everything but the
tires underneath the vehicle and ripped thefuel I mean, the oil pan,
I mean, you name it.The bottom of the car was basically on
the medium and then my car wason a car, and so yeah,
(10:48):
my dad showed up. I remember, I was pissed here I am.
I just got this cool car andI wrecked it in the first twenty four
hours of having it totaled it itwas done. My dad shows up to
pick me up and I'm like,he's gonna be mad, And sure enough,
he looks at that car, hesees it on the other car.
He makes sure, He's like, are you okay? Yeah, and then
he just kind of laughs, allright, get in the car, you
(11:09):
dumb ass, let's go. Buthe was just so happy that I wrecked
my mom's car was really what itb down to. And so that was
yeah, both you know the motorcyclelife, you know is I almost got
I almost killed myself on that thing. One notable point where I learned the
upright in the straight tire thing wasSame Road Custom Road Plano, Texas.
(11:35):
I'm driving that big ass goal winglike a like an asshole, fast as
possible, music blaring, and someonedidn't like it. So this dude comes
up past me, gets in frontof me, and then just slams on
his brakes right, and I hitmy brakes hard, and then I saw
that I was going to hit theback of his car, and so I
kind of tried to turn and turnwent to like a slide, But fortunately
(12:00):
I was already kind of sort ofat a stop, so it wasn't that
much of a slide and I didn'tend up really injured. My left leg
got scraped up in the pole inmy hand. I remember that being the
the the sore part of the deal. But um, yeah, and then
from then on out, I reallydidn't learn my lesson. I've been driving
(12:20):
like that ever since. So Imean, and fast forwarding now, yeah,
like you know, the bikes backthen didn't have abs, they didn't
have all the rider as it waspure analog. And then so now,
like, I mean, how bigof a difference do you see now with
the bikes that you're riding currently comparatively? I mean, because to me,
like like there's so much shit youcan do wrong. Yeah, on modern
(12:43):
day bikes that twenty years ago thatyou'd end up fucking dead, right,
which to me is is a doubleedged sword. Yeah, you know,
yeah, I don't. I thinkjust like you guys, some of the
some of the technology, some ofit I like, and some of it
I really don't like. I kindof like the analog side. I feel
like you have more control. Youknow. It's no different than all the
(13:05):
sensors that beep every time you comenear the bumper of a car. You
know. It's like, I don'tneed a computer with the way I drive,
trying to adjust me or tell mewhat I'm what I'm doing wrong because
I'm purposely doing it wrong for areason, for my own satisfaction, you
know, and having fun. Butyeah, it's uh yeah, I think
it's all cool though. You guysobviously you know, know more about kind
(13:28):
of like the details. As youknow, I've never I've never really cared
about all that. I'm just kindof like, oh, does it,
does it? Does it work?Yeah? Does it drive? Yes?
Okay, then I just drive itto me. I think the key with
the rider aids, I mean,I agree like a lot of them,
I don't like. I mean,we've talked about this before. The the
lane assist. I can't stand thefucking cruise control ship drives me nuts.
(13:48):
To me, the only things thatI really like are the ones that actually
keep you safe. Like, Idon't need them to help me be lazy.
I want the things that keep mesafe. Yeah, And to me,
that that's kind of thee in thesand for me. Like the traction
control. You know, especially onmotorcycles, traction control, wheeley control and
ABS and engine break. Those fourthings are massively helpful if you understand a
(14:13):
what they're doing, be enough experienceto have a preference, and then see
dialing the bike in exactly how youwant it so that you know what it's
going to do it. And tome, all that does is it allows
you to be more confident, moresafe, and push the bike further without
being super dangerous. You know, but I think all of those things have
to be present, would you Whatdo you think? Oh? I totally
(14:35):
agree you. Like yesterday for theride we were on the guy that I
wrote, two other people's bikes andyours. I know where your settings are,
so I went up and I tookeverything to where my settings are,
which is nothing on except engine break, so I can Ryan wheelys do stupid
shit and act full, but Ihad to know the bike first, so
it slowed me down. Same thingwith the next bike. The next bike
(14:58):
was even way safe than years inthat setting, and I was like,
Nah, this shit ain't gonna workwhen we turn all this off, fix
that. But yeah, I meanI've rode bikes like he had to where
it has disenterstand and it's like whatthe fuck? And then now you're on
these bikes and there the rider aidsare helpful along with safety, Yeah,
(15:18):
but you do lose a little bitof that edge of the ship, like,
oh shit, that's an indo. You know. It was so much
easy you hit your front brakes backin the day and a bike would go
up on that front wheel. It'sdamn near impossible to do that now,
which is good for people not thathadn't grown up riding. Yeah, indows
are dangerous shit, yeah, andif you can roll, yeah, well,
(15:41):
I think in some ways some ofthe writer aids are so intrusive that
they're actually dangerous. Yeah. Youknow, like some of the engine brake
or you know, or traction controlor wheely control settings are so intrusive and
so violent in how they stop youfrom doing some things if you're trying to
do something, like you said, like, I know, whatever the mechanics
(16:03):
are, if they're technically not whatyou're supposed to be doing, but you're
trying to accomplish a specific thing, and then that thing you're expecting to bike
to do something and it doesn't,that's pull is fucking dangerous, right you
know? So yeah, I meanit's a it's a catch twenty two for
sure. But what was your firstmotorcycle, your own personal one? My
first one was that I owned wasa Triumph Trident and it was an old
(16:26):
school that's a six hundred right yeah, triple yeah and those things. Uh,
back then it was what Evil Knevilused to jump, right, I
mean, that's that's how crazy.I mean, it's a big heavy but
because it's a triple just you know, for me, back then, it
was like how does it sound right? Sounds loud and cool? That's all
(16:47):
that really mattered. Any of theperformance stuff. It's like why, I
don't know horsepower, I don't knowwho cares? Yea, does it look
cool? Does it sound cool?Yeah? Okay, I'll take it.
So, I mean, and thenbut that was an old school bike that
my dad had built, rebuilt andgave to me. But somewhere maybe right
before that or right after that, that's when he got into sport bikes.
(17:08):
And I had cbrs and you know, Ninjas and I think I think I
had a Jixter for a little while. But it was really just you know,
all the different Japanese Asian bikes. You know that I kind of went
back and forth, you know, because one year one's faster than the other,
and you know, I didn't knowwhat I was doing. Just drive,
(17:29):
just drive them. Yeah, we'reabout your first fast car. Uh
well, you know, as youknow, when I was in the teams,
I had sports sedans that were prettyfast, and yeah Alexis and the
Beamers and all those and back whenyou're young, you think that's cool and
that's fast. You have no ideauntil you really start. But they were
(17:51):
nimble, you know, like intraffic and stuff. Like we all know,
you know, it's not really whatthe zero to sixty year or the
top end speed. It's balls andhandling in the handling is where you have
fun and so you can Hell,I did that with my Tahoe on the
way here. I was treating itjust like any other car. And uh,
(18:12):
you know, even though I'm onlya you know, maintaining ninety to
one hundred miles an hour in it, and it's sluggish response, but still
fun. Right. Yeah. Well, uh, within the in the military,
you've been through some pretty fucking cooldriving stuffs. Can you talk about
those? Yeah? Um, Imean it became apparent after like Iraq,
(18:33):
that mobility is very important. Thedays of doing ten click humps is just
non existen, It's not going tohappen. You might do three to five
clicks so that you're out of likehelo hearing distance of the bad guys,
but that's about it. You're notgoing to go that far. But driving
and vehicles became definitely important. SoI think the first school I went to,
(18:59):
which is where I the you know, he's the first driving school you
go to, is where you're gonnalearn the most because you don't know anything
about it. And it was itTI. He was in San Antonio and
it was basically run by a bunchof like secret Service State Department folks,
and they were the resident experts onoffensive and defensive driving. And so they
(19:19):
had a track, they had likea hard pack area. They had gravel
roads, I mean, you nameit, they had it. And then
they had all these bang up carsand you know a lot of these cars
were reusable in the sense that whatthey did is they welded on these like
metal bumpers all that wrapped all wayaround the front and to cover the front
(19:41):
quarter panels, and they did thesame on the back, and so that
would allow us to do more offensivemaneuvers like you know what you see cops
do, pit maneuvers, barricades, like just busting through barricades, and how
to do it properly, whether it'sstatic barricades or din amic ones or vehicles,
(20:03):
learning how to really t bone anothervehicle properly, and then getting into
more of the high speed driving, which was pretty basic there. But later
you go to like BSR, andat the time there were some pretty popular
like race car schools, if youwill, And I remember that was where
they had nothing but corvettes and soyou just drove the track and it was
(20:26):
just vets. I think now BSRhas changed names a couple of times,
but it's uh, I think it'sall Dodge Chargers now, or it's all
Dodge brand vehicles. But I rememberthe first time doing like a pit maneuver
and like going, holy shit, this is you know, and as soon
as they tell you, like anythingover thirty five miles an hour is considered
(20:47):
fatal. Yeah, right, likeyou're gonna flip the car and kill You're
gonna kill the people that you pit. I mean, so cops have to
be very aware of their speed. The words stay above thirty five exactly.
But what I also found for coolwas car prep. You know, like
you know all the things. Youknow. I had no idea how important
tires were until you go to aschool like that, and they're like tires,
(21:10):
tires, tires, and every dayyou're making sure they're about five to
ten psi overmax for those types ofmaneuvers, right, because you don't want
that tire to roll off the rimand become a wedge and then all of
a sudden cars will start rolling you. You know, you're not trying to
kill your buddies. You know you'retrying to kill bad guys. But the
training had those safety pieces and makingsure those tires were squared away was like
(21:32):
the number one safety rule besides seatbelt and helmets. You know. So
yeah, but you did a lotof j turns, reverse one eighties,
all the cool Hollywood stuff, andthen we did a lot of close in,
very very tight driving. It's almostlike if you're you know, pilots
(21:52):
flying in formation, imagine doing thatwith six car or five cars around a
track, all at the same speed, right, So you're literally paint on,
paint on both doors and then bumperon bumper with a car in front
of you, in a car behindyou, and you're all and then you
rotate all the different positions, sotwo flanking cars, one in the front,
(22:17):
one in the rear, one inthe center, rotate And then now
what it does is it's forcing youto concentrate solely on Okay, I'm just
paint to paint, nothing else, right, nothing less, nothing more.
And at the end of the day, all of the cool Hollywood stuff,
all of that driving is just tomake you, well, it's just to
(22:37):
increase your confidence as a driver andunderstand the limitations, right to know like
what you can and can't get awaywith in a four door sedan. And
now that's going to vary once youget overseas and depending on your rental car
and what it is and what itcan do. But for the most part,
all of it, you know,is I mean, man, I
highly recommend it to everyone to goto some kind of defensive offensive driving school
(23:03):
because you'll find out just how youknow, capable a vehicle is of a
lot of different stuff without ruining it. Because for us it was like,
hey, I want to use myvehicle as a weapon, but it still
needs to get me off the X. Once I'm done, you can't just
crash it total it now you're onfoot. So it's important to understand like
the physics, you know, likewe took the pit maneuver to a different
(23:26):
level. If I'm putting my frontdriver's side tire on my targets rear passenger
tire, it's not a jerking move. It's a slow inward progression, nice
and easy, and then their carwill spend in front of you. Now
once they get I mean literally,I'm looking out the windshield and I can
(23:48):
see through the passenger window and seethe driver staring at me because he's sideways
in front of me. Right,And we learned that if you back off
the accelerator, allow that about onefoot gap between your front bumper and their
passenger door or their a post orno, their b post, you know,
the one right behind the driver's door. Back off a little bit,
(24:10):
then gun it again. You willflip that car down the road and kill
everybody inside. Right, that's evenif you're using a slower the below thirty
five mile an hour mark, right, just to let off the accelerator and
then hit them again. And whywhy would you ever want to do that
clean? Yeah, well you goon to get rid of the problem that's
(24:30):
chasing you and then uh and thenstill be able to drive away. I
mean that's that's really the big keyis you don't want to You never want
to total your your getaway car.Yeah. Yeah, this really makes me
feel comfortable with staying in the backwatching you guys. Yeah shit, yeah,
I'll let you go up front andwith everybody right, fucking Pittman over
(24:52):
a bunch of assholes. Yeah. The movies make it look like it's this
big bang, you know, andit's not. It's like this. If
you do it right, you won'teven see there will be nothing wrong with
the with the If a cop doesit right, then there'll be absolutely nothing
wrong with his cop car. Yeah, that's if you just do it right.
Yeah, it's a it's a gentlepush and that card the bad guy's
(25:15):
car will do the rest, whetherthey like it or not. Yeah.
So you've had a shitload of motorcycles, so I won't ask you to list
all of them, but if youcould list your current lineup of bikes,
but also all of the legit fuckingfast cards that you've had, I be
well, they don't rack up toyou, guys. I think I was
ahead of you guys at one point, or at least ahead of Mike,
(25:37):
but Mike's caught up over the lastcouple of years with his sports card de
jure once a week addiction. Let'ssee, um mid life crisis. Yeah,
that's all right. I don't havea yellow Corvette yet, so you
don't. That's yeah. Just ifif you see me with a yellow Corvette
and hair plugs, then it's fullblown. Yeah, that's cool. Anyways.
(26:00):
That yeah, bikes, Let's see, I've had um cbrs and Ninjas
as mentioned. I've had BMW likeK twelve hundred R more of your adventure
type bikes. I kind of gotinto a little bit when I was on
the East coast a g S twelvehundred. Mine was the more of the
(26:21):
Urban one. It was a KI got you now I'm getting moment at
K twelve hundred, right, okay, yeah, um, they are like
the GS. They have different theydon't have the big boxy it's more like
how you want to put it?More aerodynamic, yeah, kind of you
know. Um, let's see fromthat I've had obviously the current BMW and
(26:45):
then Harley's I forgot about those. Then I switched over to Indian as you
know, and then I talked youinto the Indian Yeah, um, the
Challenger, the Bomber, but yeah, I think there's been some others I
just don't remember. And then cars, I mean three series, five series
(27:06):
BMW's, the Lexus is as sportsDans, and then the F type whatever
the hell the letters on that RSwhatever the fast one was, and then
uh, Mercedes, you know youwent through the same Mercedes gross growing pains
that I did. And uh andthen now with y'all's recommendation of what is
(27:27):
the you know, biggest bang foryour buck American made you know, supercar
equivalent, and it's the z Rone. So and that's kind of where
I stand today. And how howare you likeing that car? I love
it it's it's I think what Ilike is it's it's dangerous, like that
(27:48):
thing's back end. It's I thinkthat instability is what makes it such a
fun car. And as you were, you and I were talking about I
think it was the McLaren that itwas almost too safe for lack of better
words, right, well, oneof your cars. You were like,
yeah, gun it, it justit's boring. This thing is not boring.
You gun that that z R oneAnd yeah, I mean it's I
(28:11):
mean the nine to eleven is thatway is it's too safe number one.
It's all wheel drive, and it'sjust so well engineered that that it is
kind of boring, you know.I mean, and it's weird because performance
wise, like it's fucking it's alegit supercar, you know, especially if
you do a simple tune and downpipe, which isn't altering the vehicle a ton.
I mean, it's it's absolutely onpar with the Pista and even faster
(28:33):
if you do a couple of littlethings. Yeah, but it's just not
that fucking fun to drive. It'snot playful, it's not nimble, it's
not inspiring, it's not emotional. Now, the McLaren, I you know
the bitches I have on that arekind of the opposite. I mean,
there is an element of it's toopowerful to where it's hard to enjoy in
some ways, like unless the tiresare one hundred and ten degrees or warmer.
(28:57):
So I mean it's it's got tobe hot weather, and you got
to give you ten fifteen minutes ofdriving it at higher speeds, not necessarily
getting on it, just getting youknow, a lot of rotation into the
tires to get some heat into thembefore they'll grip enough to even come close
to putting the power down. That'sthe first thing. So like you got
to have really really good conditions orit's fucking pointless driving it. The other
(29:22):
thing, and I could deal withthat. The thing that makes me say,
fuck, fuck this car is thosesimilar driver aids that we're talking about
it. In this case, it'sto protect the transmission and engine from too
much boost, too much power, shifting, too hard, whatever, where
there's a lot of little quirks,a little you know, check engine things
and a little protective measures when you'rereally trying to gun it that keep you
(29:45):
from doing what you want to doin it. And that drives me fucking
like it completely ruins the fun ofdriving, you know, And that's another
feather in the cap of the pieceis that it's mindless. You know.
To me, what whether it's amotorcycle of car, like if the first
time you're riding or driving it,you're comfortable and and you're confident driving it,
pushing it hard, that's what makesit fun. Yes, you know,
(30:07):
and the McLaren for me at least, just does not do that.
Like it's stupid fast. I mean, you saw it. It's crazy,
you know, a little bit justfine, you know, but but you
know, driving the way we typicallylike to drive it, there are a
lot of little things like that thatreally fuck with the with the driving experience
and make you have to stop andbe like, okay, what's going on?
Let me do this and switch that, and you know, and it's
(30:29):
like I don't I don't want tohave to pay attention to that shit.
I just want to drive, youknow. So you remember, yeah,
well remember that one drive we did. I actually, when we were done,
I asked Matt about you know, the the check engine light was just
blinking, but it would go offand then it would blink again, and
you know, you explained it,you know, in some fucking mechanic terms
(30:51):
that I don't understand. It wasbasically like, yeah, you know,
if you're running them pretty hard, there's a carbon build up on a sensor,
and then that will make it kindof say, hey, just it
just wants you to back off alittle bit and give it a moment.
Let it breathe for a minute,Let breathe. Yeah. Yeah, yeah,
and you're right. I mean it'snot like it was a permanent issue,
but like you know, to yourpoint, it's enough of an issue
to kind of mess up your drivingexperience because now you're worried about your car,
(31:15):
yeah, when there actually no,there was nothing to be worried about.
It's just a safety precaution they stuckin there to, like you said,
protect the motor. Yeah yeah, yeah, the McLaren I think that
they go overboard, like they putall this power in and hey, if
all this is turned off, whichwe make it like you got to do
the old school Nintendo up up,down, down, left right, you
know, Yeah, you're in thecar trying to do that when all your
(31:37):
buddies are already over here eating.I'm just trying to get there. Yeah,
they take it to that next levelwhen they could just step back just
the hair on the power and justhave a button that unleashes it all you're
instead of seven sixty five or eighthundred six fifty, but it's all a
six fifty all the time. Andit's I think that make it a black
Yeah, that's a good idea.I mean to me, for I think
(32:00):
has nailed it is that they've gotone dial on the fucking dash, right,
And that's basically it is that youknow, it's it's all the way
from it's raining and you want tobe as careful as possible to there's not
a single fucking thing that's going toprotect you. And there's you know three
in between, right, you know, and they're and they're at different levels.
(32:21):
It's all you know, pre premappedpreset that you know, you know
exactly what you're getting into. Andit's just flick flick, flick flick,
and that's it. You know. It's like so hey, it's raining and
fucked up, or it's one hundredand ten degrees and there's nobody around and
I want to get nasty, andeverywhere in between is giving you a happy
medium of those things and It's funnybecause I didn't know any of that options
(32:43):
existed in the z R one untilI was talking to you guys. And
it's got a lot of menu optionsthat I don't know what the proper setting
is for, right. So whenyou get into track mode, which is
it got it's at first it seemssimple. It's a dial and you go
from what a tour to sport andthen track. You get into track and
(33:05):
then you push the button on top. There's this whole other world of menus
and it's wet dried, and there'slike, I don't know, another three
or four options that I'm like,I don't even know what the hell that
means, you know, so Ijust stick it in dry, you know.
I think it's track dry mode iswhat allows it to do um that
(33:25):
launch control thing, which I stillhaven't figured out, right, I've mashed
on the break and tried to putit in launch control, but I don't
think i've I still haven't figured thatshit out. I mean, that's another
thing that the European cars are waybetter about, generally speaking. Is you
know, you hit a button andyou fucking step on the brake, mash
on the on the gas let thebreak go and that's it. You know.
It's not not super complicated, andit should be that easy in every
(33:50):
car. And BMW's actually the worst, like they're they're fucking just terrible about
it. But um yeah, Imean, you know, to me again,
like I think Lamborghini and Ferrari bothhave it pretty well figured out.
Lamborghini it's even simpler. It's maybetoo simple. There's three modes. Basically,
it's chill, fucking good to goand balls to the fucking wall,
you know, which does make iteasy. It's like I'm just driving around
(34:13):
town warming it up. I gotit on this mode. There's a lot
of traffic, maybe the tires aren'twarm, but I want to fucking push
it. It's this mode, andthen there's the the silly mode, you
know, and uh and that makessense, you know, but it makes
it easy to enjoy the drive, not to sit there and focus on me.
With McLaren, there's so many differentfucking things that you got to adjust
and move and and dictate and anddial in depending on what's going on or
(34:34):
whatever. That it's just like, dude, this is just fucking overcomplicated.
You know. I would have neverguessed because when you look at it,
it's, yeah, it looks likeit looks like there's nothing in there.
In there but started up and it'slike, oh, check for child,
see down full safety. Wow.Yeah, it's it's it's too much,
you know, in my opinion,I know that. You know again that's
one of those personal preference things.Yeah, because I've had first rule problems,
(34:59):
you know when you're yeah, forsure, McLarens fucking suck. I've
had three of my clarens, andI was fucking with him when he got
his. I'm like, electrical sucks. You're gonna start getting these gremlin and
blah blah blah. He brought theMcLaren over the other day and I told
him me, I'm a fucking garagelight don't work, the blender won't yea.
I plug your car into the houseand I broke my house. Yeah,
my whole house is fucked now.It asked me, do I want
(35:21):
the door open? Yeah? Okay, guys, let me tell you about
a spongsor we got Mintmobile. Afteryears of fine print contracts getting ripped off
by the big wireless providers, ifthey've learned anything it's that there's always a
catch So when I first heard ofMintmobile offer premium wireless starting at fifteen dollars
(35:44):
a month, I thought, what'sthe catch, But after talking to them
and using their service, it allmade sense. There isn't one Mintmobile secret.
Sauce is that there is. They'rethe first company to sell wire service
online. Only they cut out thecosts of retail stores pass those savings directly
(36:06):
onto you. Now, guys,I've been using Mintmobile for a little bit
now and it's really good. Theservice is picked up great. I'm I'm
truly happy with it. If youwant to get Mintmobile for only fifteen dollars
a month, try it out withtheir five G network. Go to Mintmobile
Wireless type in uninfluenced. So here, you guys, go go to mintmobile
(36:31):
dot com slash uninfluenced. That's mintmobiledot com slash uninfluenced, and cut your
wireless bill to fifteen bucks a month. Again mintmobile dot com slash uninfluenced.
I've seen you do some shit andwe've talked about it with just me and
(36:52):
you. After we've done weekend drives, I stay in the back a lot
unless someone smarts off, you know, and then I gotta help show them
what's happening. But I love stayingin the back and especially YouTube watching,
y'all, it's like watching a symphonygo off. Just the one time I
wish I was recording is the firsttime you went to cars in Cantina and
(37:15):
we pull up to the light andclean It's like, I know where I'm
going. I'm going into oncoming traffic. It's like this, I just turned
the camera off, but I'm watchingit. Yeah, I mean like we're
in the lane and look over andhe's passing us in the oncoming traffic lane.
And keep in mind it's like twolanes a big fucking median and then
(37:36):
two lanes you know, go inthe other direction. It wasn't like a
two lane, two way scenar.Now. I was just, uh,
I didn't want to get lost.God knows. Anybody who's driven with me
knows I don't know where I'm goinghalf the time, so I'll do anything
so that I don't have to eventhough we were already there. It just
really doesn't make sense. But itwas fun. Yeah, it was fun
to watch. And it's like theother time where I thought some shit dish
(37:57):
went way bad up in front ofus because all the gravel shoulder. Yeah,
yeah, that was just yeah, exactly. The driving schools will say
all terrain is drivable terrain. Theyellow lines and the white lines on the
ground mean absolutely nothing. And it'sfunny how many car accidents if you watch,
(38:19):
they're confined to lanes, like itdidn't even cross their mind to like
jump out the lane. Right. The car accident is like all stacked up
in that lane. When there's plentyof outs all the time, you just
got to take them. They're notpretty outs, but there's outs. Yeah.
Yeah. Have you had any otherclose calls car wise other than your
first car? Um? No?Yeah, I mean I rented a I
(38:46):
was in Hawaii for MPACK and Irented a Viper, and I had no
idea what I was doing, right, and that thing talk about a squirrely
rear end. Right. I rememberthinking, I know what I'm doing.
I hadn't any driving schools, andI was just a young team guy and
I rent this stupid ass car.And for of course the first thing,
(39:07):
the guy when I get it,I was probably what's the age of renting,
like twenty one, right, SoI mean I probably was twenty two,
and he's like, be careful gettingout of that thing. You'll burn
your leg. I'm like okay,And so of course, first time I
drive it, first place, Istop and as soon as I stuck my
leg out with shorts and flip flops, sure enough, I burned the crap
(39:29):
out of the back of my uh, which I think they they fixed a
couple of years later. But unyeah, oh yeah, it's right there
completely, you know, bear andopen for you to just burn yourself every
time you It's kind of like amotorcycle pipe. It's right there, which
is stupid, but anyway, soI burned myself and then I got on.
(39:49):
I had somebody I can't remember, somebody in the platoon was in the
passenger seat. Of course I hadto get on Highway one there in Hawaii
and show off not knowing what I'mdoing, and let everybody know that you
weren't. You didn't know what youwere doing, and you know, go
roaring down that thing, I meanfast like that thing definitely was fast and
uh. And then we got off, and then of course I gun it
(40:14):
to get back. I was gonnago into the bridge and come back,
get back on that highway, andI gun it under that bridge and not
just do a full one eighty likeI went around like three sixty and a
half and I was lucky that Ididn't hit the cars around me. I
didn't get hit. But when itcame to a stop, you know,
(40:34):
me and god Mark, Mark wasin the passenger seat, we both look
at each other and then I wasthe granny from then on out getting onto
the highway using my blank car.Okay, everything's fine, let's just get
back to the hotel. You know. But it was one of those moments
and you're just like, fuck, could have just totally you know, caused
myself a whole lot of issue.Plus it's a rental. But I mean,
(40:54):
yeah, follow the rule, driveit like a rental. I totally
agree with that rule. There there'sanother story it's not necessarily correlated, but
kind of is, and that youwere on a road trip. I think
you're in your Alexis on cross countrywhere yeah, guys stopped, and you
mind telling that story? Yeah,I mean I've had, as you know,
I've had a lot of roadside fights. M I kind of I used
(41:16):
to embrace them. One that Ishould I should tell the motorcycle one first,
just because I think folks the motorcycleworld. I think they'd appreciate it.
And I find it interesting that thereare still so many people that do
not tolerate motorcycles for some reason, you know. And this was a case
of it. It was leaving SealTeam three, go over Coronado Bridge,
(41:37):
hit the five, and it's thefive one sixty three. You exit five
to get on one sixty three,And anybody knows that during rush hour is
always stacked, and so motorcycles inCalifornia are allowed to cruise in between vehicles
because you know, this is aircooled engines back then, right, And
I think I had my Ninja, and so I'm cutting in between vehicles.
(42:00):
And the one rule I kind oflearned over the years, and you're doing
that is I'm always looking at thatpast the driver's side mirror, and I'm
looking in them as i'm approaching them, seeing if they see me. And
then the next thing I'm doing islooking directly down at the driver's side front
tire to see if there's any goingto be any movement coming into my lane.
(42:23):
And it's kind of like a checkoff system that I was using.
And I noticed there's this big truckyou know, jacked up big tires,
and here I come cruising by him, and he didn't like it. So
I saw him in his review mirrorlooking at me, so I knew he
could see me. And then heturns his front tires and just guns it
enough to kind of almost get inthe way, but not enough because I
(42:46):
could still get by, and ofcourse as I go by, I give
him the big old middle finger andkeep on going. Well, once the
traffic broke and it was open,I look in my rearview mirror and here
comes this, you know, andit was one of those It was the
Dodge What was that Dodge truck thatcame out. I think it was the
first time to have like a hemmyeor something you know that was cool back
(43:07):
then in it this thing could haulass, right, And so it's coming
up in my rear view mirror andI'm just, you know, I'm not
trying to get away or anything. And so then we get into this little
cat and mouse game and I'm obviouslyevery time I get away from him,
I get away just fine. Buthe just wasn't letting up, and so
I'm like, fuck it, likea dumb team guy. I'm like I'll
(43:28):
just exit. We exit, andof course I get to the intersection red
light, and there's probably like fivecars in front of me, and I
can't get to the turn lane right, and so he puts his car was
big enough to where he could puthis bumper literally on the small of my
back. Jesus right, his bumpercame up over the bike, the rear
tire and everything, and he wasthat close to me and I had this
(43:52):
is after I had already inched allthe way up to the car in front
of me, and I'm standing uplike I'm on my feet right, and
this prick has got his bumper likethat far up my ass. And then
at that point I just kind ofwent into red mode. I made it
to the turn and at the time, my wife's work was right there,
so I knew her part, Iknew her area, and I knew her
(44:14):
parking lot where she worked. Ipull in there and he pulls in behind
me, and that kickstand was down. And I've always I think I even
told you, you know, glovesand a helmet, right, You're you're
always gonna win the fight. Andanybody who thinks that they're gonna win punching
you in the helmet like somehow you'regonna just get knocked out. It just
(44:36):
isn't gonna work. But that guy, I didn't even give him time to
get out of his car. Iwas up in his car on his driver's
side, like on top of him, you know. And I remember my
helmet hitting the top of his likegetting in Like I almost knocked myself back
out of the truck because I hitthat top doorframe, you know, trying
to crawl in there. And thenfinally I duck in and get my head
(44:58):
in there. And then it waslike boom, boom boom, and just
keep hitting him in the head. And then uh, you know that my
my my wife at the time, her somebody saw it and they called the
cops, and the cops came, and I told him like this guy was
just being, without a doubt dangerous, you know, and I pull in.
I didn't know what he was goingto do next, so I had
to, you know, took thefight to him. Whatever it turns out
he was. He was in thenavy too. Oh, he worked on
(45:21):
one of the ships. He wasthe master at arms on and uh,
and it actually went up, youknow, I chain of commands and Obviously
I didn't get in trouble and hedid, but it was just just insane,
like people that you know, theyjust can't stand it when a motorcycle
passes them in those conditions. Youknow it's traffic and road rage. Yeah,
(45:42):
they just get mad about it whenit's perfectly legal. Most I mean,
it's anything, it's it's helping deconjusttraffic. Like if if a motorcycle's
not taking up the same space asa car, you should fucking welcome them
getting the funk out of the wall. Well even worse, if motorcycles sit
there and overheat. Now you're justasking for more traffic as you got a
bunch of motorcycles sitting on the sideof road, and everybody rubberneck and wonder
what's going on with all these motorcycles. But that's why they do it,
(46:04):
is so that you can keep yourmotor cool and keep ongoing. And these
idiots just don't like it because they'resitting there stuck and not getting the progress
forward. But then in the carone of course that you know, I
was driving cross country. It's themiddle of the night and it's West Texas
and I'm on night ten and thespeed limits. They're like eighty five.
It's like the fastest in the countryat the time. I don't know that
(46:25):
if that's true anymore, but theybasically would open up the corridor so that
Semis could just move their freight throughthe night safely and you could get away
with going ninety five one hundred milesan hour. Some of the eighteen wheelers
were hitting some pretty good speeds. But during this drive cross country that stretch,
(46:45):
I noticed a car come onto thehighway rearview mirror. He's behind me,
he's getting closed. Now he's nextto me, and I figured they
just, you know whatever, we'reall trusts, trying to stay awake,
So yeah, why not race, right? So I go fast, they
go fast. Before you know it, they're now they're getting dangerously close to
my car, kind of pushing meinto the into the emergency lane. And
(47:09):
so once again, you know,I'm kind of looking at my gas I'm
like, you know, I don'treally want to pull over a gas station.
I want to you know, Idon't know, I don't know what
these guys were up to, andI remember just debating a lot of different
options, but eventually I went withthe dumbest one, which was, let's
pull over and the confidence of havinga gun, the confidence of knowing that
(47:29):
I can probably use it and shootit better than whatever I face in this
vehicle. But obviously they were tryingto get me off the road, and
so what I did is just kindof did the pretend I give up,
I give in, I pull over. They pulled over behind me, which
was probably their biggest mistake, andso once again I was out of that
car as fast as possible. Ihad, you know, my gun already,
(47:52):
you know, concealed carry. Andthen as soon as the driver's side
door opened, I saw his footplant and I was like, and so
I basically kicked the driver's side dooras hard as I could, which then
crashed in on his shin and hejust heard this big. I was like,
Oh that worked, because I didn'tknow what I was doing. You
know, I'm going total rambo nowand it's uh and I'm just figuring out
(48:15):
as I go, and so Igrab him. I just knew that,
okay, I gotta at least getsomeone in pain, because I didn't know
how many people were in this.I think it was like, well,
you know, when it was atrans am, it was blacked out and
it was one of the newer youknow, when transam came out again,
and so they so as I grabbedhim, I knew there was a good
(48:37):
guy in the passenger seat and he'sstarting to get out. So I was
like, okay, well, I'llpunch this dude a couple of times.
And then at the same time Inoticed, oh wait, there's a dude
back in that little whatever you ifyou want to call it a rear seat,
a little jump seat back there. And so I was like, crap,
I'm outnumbered, and uh and soI hit this driver. He kind
(49:00):
of spills out at my feet, and then then I was like, fuck
it, I'm going to guns. And so I drew as the passenger comes
around, and all of us werein this zone that all of a sudden,
the blue and red lights like rightkind of the cops are on us,
you know, and it was almostas if they came out of nowhere,
Like I had no idea where theycame from, but I sure was
(49:22):
happy. You know. So thecops pull up and you're standing there at
night with a gun drawn pointed atpeople, pointed at them. It's Texas
troopers and and so you know immediately, and this is early on tech.
I got my concealed carry the firstyear that it became legal in Texas,
(49:44):
so I'd already been home had it, and I knew I was at least
somewhat good. I'm outnumbered. They'reforcing me off the road now once again.
That's all he says. She saidcrap, but it was the truth.
And anyway, I mean, sothe cops pull us all aside,
treat us all his cre finals. At first, we're all handcuffed, you
know, and they searched their car. Their car, they had a gun
(50:06):
per guy all hidden right underneath thepassenger seat, and so the bat guy
probably had his gun tucked under andthey probably all got rid of those things
soon as they saw blue lights andshit everywhere. But that was good for
me right now. I had definitelya reason why pulling mine was a good
idea, even though at the timeI was like, I don't know if
there's a good idea or not, because the next step is actually pulling the
(50:28):
trigger, which you know, aswe all know, that's almost never ago.
That's never a good day. Yeah, And so long story short,
you know, the cops are like, where are you head? And I'm
like, well, I'm going toFort Bragg. Oh you got a long
ways to go. What are youwhat are you doing? I'm like,
well, you know, I'm inthe Navy. What are you doing in
the Navy? I'm a seal. Was hell week? Car like, yeah,
(50:49):
hell Week's pretty hard and he's like, all right, well go on
and get out of here. We'lltake care of the rest. I'm like
you sure, yep, Okay,Back in my car I went, I
was like, get the hell outof here, and uh yeah, good.
Uh that was I don't know thatthat would uh if that would be
the same these days, you know, probably not. Probably. Not pulling
(51:10):
your gun is just like fucking never. It's never gonna benefit yet. I
don't think no, if cops showup and you got a gun, that's
that's there's never right, gonna bea good outcome of that. It goes
back to what I'm always discussing with, you know, active shooter stuff with
you know, some of my wolfclients, And yeah, I mean you
pull that gun, you better uhyeah, And you're taking a risk,
(51:32):
a huge better be. If youdon't, you're you're convinced you're gonna lose
your life. If you don't pullit. I mean, that's the only
time it should should ever come out, you know. But yeah, but
it turns out like so that youknow, people are probably wondering, well,
why why was these are these guysyou know carjacking tight? Back and
back then it was like you seea nice car, let's steal it.
And that's really what it boiled downto. And that's what they, uh,
(51:55):
that's what they had successfully done onthat stretch of road many time times,
I guess. So you know, you did you see or were you
aware of how much damage you diddo his shin when you all got out,
could you tell he was all fuckedup? Well, by the time
everyone, well at least I wasreleased, ambulance had already come. And
I'm pretty sure it was a tipFID fracture. Yeah, but who knows,
I mean yeah, yeah, Imean it wasn't I haven't yeah,
(52:20):
I mean just seeing the fact whenas soon as I saw that that I'll
never forget it was the black hightop Nike like the ones that were highlighted
in the first terminator. Yeah, remember those. I had a pair.
I was like, man, where'dyou get those? Boom kick the door
but it was like that, youknow, it was one of those black
Nike high tops and ended up lookinglike the Witch Wicked Witch of the West
(52:44):
feet and Wizard of Ye hanging out. And I was like, man,
that's that's something I'm gonna have toremember. I'm gonna use that tactic some
other day. Just kick that door. Yeah, that's a fucking that's hard
to deal with. Yeah, andyou know, the deal getting out of
a sports car isn't like you getout fast, and I was in a
sedan. It was more upright,so you can get out, I mean
you start. Really, I hadthe rest of the drive to kind of
(53:05):
go through all the like, ohgod, I could have gone a whole
lot differently, or you know themistakes I made, or hey, how
about just not pull over? Justkeep going. You know, it's not
it's not worth it, obviously inretrospect over a car, or just to
let your you know, you're Iwas young, and you know, as
a young seal you think, ohfuck it, I can three verses one
(53:27):
is good odds in the seal world, you hear that all the time,
right, Yeah, it turns outit turns out maybe not such a great
idea. Yeah. You know,we grow up hearing that three bad guys
versus one seal is called even Yeah, I can cheese dick. Yeah it
kind of. Yeah, with thehelp of some cops. Yeah, I
mean, you gotta wonder if theyhadn't showed up, like those guys probably
(53:49):
would have started gunning that you youknow, I would have turned into a
fucking gunfight on the side of Yeah. Yeah, trust me, I ran
it through. Like imagine like, okay, I mean I would have had
to pull what was I going topull the trigger? I don't know,
right it starts there? Or wasI going to just let people get close
to me and muzzle strike him?You know? But I mean I can.
It's a difficult, Yeah, Imean if the dude in the backseat
(54:10):
starts sending rounds to the fucking frontwind shield, you know, yeah,
it's like because that's a real possibility. Well it was that little itty bitty
backside window. Oh I got yeah, and it was like dark. I
couldn't see him. The only timeI saw him is when I was dealing
with the driver. I could see, but as soon as I kind of
went to the rear he was thepassenger was coming around it we're gonna meet
(54:30):
at the rear of the car.You know, that guy could have done
whatever he wanted. Yeah, yeah, damn yeah. It's just I don't
recommend to kids. Don't do it, don't pull over for anybody, no
shit, That's why I just keepfirst. Just make sure you're like Mike,
have the fastest car in town andbe ours. There's plenty plenty faster
(54:52):
out there. But you know, again, I think you know, at
a certain I mean, there's acertain level of speed that you have to
have. But but once you getyou know, if you've got a car
that can push two hundred, atthat point, it's yeah, it's handling
and confidence and skill, you know, I mean handballs, but entrust in
that vehicle. Yeah yeah, Ican't put my tire on right, yeah,
(55:13):
comfortability with it? How many timesthat does go through my mind?
Yeah, I know the tires aregood, but when the last time we
checked torque on these oh yeah right, yeah, I mean it's it's hard
now, I mean when you're pushinga car around a corner every fucking time,
like, I hope these fucking wheelsstay on. I mean, Jesus
Christ, if they came off, that's it, you know, I mean,
yeah, that vision in my headof how many times will this role?
(55:37):
Yeah, yeah, something kind ofOh yeah, it's sucking thirty five.
Yeah yeah. I can tell youthough, that Flamborghini can take quite
a hit. Yeah and laugh. That's straight on though. Well kind I
guess it's kind of somebody can literallydrive over your hood to ramp the hood
of your car. Yeah. Uh, what else we got you want to
(55:59):
do? Any q anda or whatyou got any topics you want to fucking
no? Hell, we pretty muchhit it all. I mean unless Clint
wants to answer some viewer questions, but some what questions we can throw an?
You gonna throw a couple up therecladas? Yeah, thanks, Clintis
is this live? Yeah No,they're just people they email in. Okay,
yeah, so we'll let we'll letClint answer a couple of questions.
(56:20):
That's gonna be interesting because I don'tknow anything. Uh, you haven't looked
at any of this, have you? No go up to the top,
very tall, newest stuff go touh not that one? That one's not
bad? Yeah, I try that. Yeah, that one's kind of a
(56:45):
good, uh, all encompassing.I will let let Clint read and answer
that one. We're gonna make meread. I'll get, I'm gonna butcher,
I'm menustration, menu, station cyclemenustration. H yeah, there,
you gonna make it, make itreal big. I can't see why.
(57:07):
Why isn't our all right? Idon't feel so bad. Sean here just
totally fucked himself, made me looksmart. It's our Sean, It's our
I think, is what you're tryingto spell. Why isn't our government trying
to take back our government employees?I'll be gotten? Get? What can
(57:28):
someone am I reading that wrong? And how do you feel about corruption and
the lack of any political outrage frombasically robbing the American people? Boy,
that's like a big question. Andthey can go a lot of my weekend,
you can go, you can goa lot of different directions with that
corruption. Uh, I would saythat I don't I don't know what to
(57:54):
say. Honestly, I don't evenknow what the question is. I guess
the part is the way that it'sword. It is hard to understand what
he's even asking. But you know, to me, I guess the second
part I'll try to translate for him, is that you know the you know
that the government has fucking corrupt hisship, you know, And and basically
most people are just kind of headingthe sand, like it doesn't affect me
(58:16):
enough to give a fuck what, you know. I think that's the gist
of it is, what do youHow do you feel about our government being
corrupt and most people just kind ofletting it happen and not fucking doing something.
Yeah, well, corrupt is abig word, and I agree the
system has a lot of fail pointsin it, and it usually revolves around
heck, I think you and Iwere discussing the other day. It's it's
(58:37):
perks versus promises. And politicians,Uh, you know they I think some
of them run with great intentions, but along the way and once they're in
the system, uh, they quicklystart steering a different direction and the perks
(58:59):
and the good deal supersede any ofthe promises they made when they were running.
And then, of course, oncethey're in that cycle, they don't
want to be the guy to ruinit for everybody else, nor would everybody
else let them right, because thisminute you start talking crazy, then you
won't get reelected, you won't haveany support from your party, and you'll
(59:22):
just be alienated because you're probably tryingto do the right thing, but the
right thing just isn't going to beheard in the way things are. And
so yeah, I think it's frustrating. And it doesn't matter which party because
they're both kind of the same whenit comes to perks over promises. And
(59:43):
you know, I think we've hadsome advantages to having like a Trump at
one point, because democracy certainly needsto be put in check from time to
time. And regardless whether you likehim or not, he did put democracy
in check a some crazy, fuckedup ways, and in other ways it
was it was good, but um, you know, it's democracy needs to
(01:00:07):
constantly be put in check or elseyou know, it's just going to continue
to go downhill. Yeah, Iagree, and I think you know to
to the second part of that questionof the lack of political outrage is that
you know you're not getting it,like you said, from the from the
politician side, because of what youjust said, I think on the on
(01:00:29):
the citizenry side is that we're avictim of our own success and that most
people are comfortable enough to not givea fuck like it. It hasn't while
it's not good, And yes,I would say it's gotten pretty bad.
It hasn't gotten bad enough to wherewhere your average everyday citizen is legitimately suffering
(01:00:50):
from it, where it's like painfulsuffering, Like it's it's starting to get
that way with some of inflation andgas costs and stuff. But like you
need to be like full blown kickedthe nuts for it to be like,
Okay, now, motherfucker, youhave my attention. Yeah, if it's
just a little bit inconvenient, you'reout of toilet paper, it's oh,
I can't work for this two weeksthat turns into two years. But I'm
getting subsidized and blob like none ofthem. It has been bad enough for
(01:01:14):
people to legitimately like stand up andfull on like fucking revolt about it.
Yeah. But and I and Iwould say that the solution to this is
called the rugged life. Yes,if you want to create an air gap
between you and the corruption, startdoing shit yourself. Start, hey,
Sean, start doing stuff yourself insteadof sending emails over here. Okay,
(01:01:35):
yeah, I mean so on aserious note, though, like the more
self reliant you are, the harderit is for the government to rob you
of it. It's right because you'renot dependent on them for anything. That's
right, You're welcome. That's rightthat it is in there somewhere. Yeah,
yeah, okay, no worries.Hashtag uninfluenced. This would be a
good one for Clinton too, Ithink, oh god, yeah. After
(01:01:58):
listening to your podcast flown Now,I found myself interested in motorcycles never ridden
before. What bike would you recommendplease? PSA, don't like the style
of Japanese bikes, okay, Ifelt that it would encourage me to ride
more aggressively than I am able to. So Italian and German bikes either.
Then I like the look of cruisingbikes like the Scout Bob or et cetera.
(01:02:22):
A great job on the show, you guys rock I'm gonna go with
Scout Ball. Yeah. If youlike the Scout Bob, yeah yeah.
If you don't want the if youdon't like hugging your gas tank and going
really really fast, than yes sure. I also think it's one of the
easiest bikes to ride. Also, you know it's it's simple. Yeah,
(01:02:44):
It's got one little, you know, tachometer, and they built it simple
on purpose to kind of keep theoriginal World War Two vibe going. You
know, a big fat front tire. Yeah, you know. I mean
it's just it's a good, solidbike. Yeah, I so think.
I know for me, you know, like you guys grew up riding way
more than I did, and soI kind of learned to ride as a
(01:03:06):
middle aged adult, you know, just in the last couple of years.
And I know, for me,the ease ability of writing boils down.
I mean, outside of all theother things that you just mentioned, the
clutch and the throttle jerkiness or lackthereof that, the lightness and length of
the clutch or you know, ifit's if it's long and super heavy and
(01:03:28):
not very smooth and a twitchy fuckingthrottle and a you know, when you're
trying to shift through the clutch andit's jerky and fucking not smooth, And
I equate it to you know, motorcycles very much. So rideability wise are
a lot like firearms and recoil isthat that the more twitchy and jerky and
harder it is, the more youkind of anticipate the shift and almost are
(01:03:52):
fucking nervous about doing it, andthen it shifts hard and it fucking you
know, joltsia rings your belt alittle bit and just makes you uncome comfortable
riding. Yeah, you know. And to me, the Barber is a
really good bike that way, wherethe clutch is a great length, it's
not too heavy, not too light, it's smooth, the throttle is smooth,
The fucking everything is smooth and easyand linear and predictable and makes it
(01:04:15):
enjoyable and really easy to learn on. And like the BMW is is very
much that way too. I meanfun, we all three have one,
um, you know that, Like, I don't think that there's a bike
out there that in terms of linearpower and smoothness and delivery and all of
that that that's as good as thatbike. Yeah, it's just it's remarkable.
I mean the Bober have an autoblip. No, I mean you can
(01:04:38):
rev match and if you get itjust right but always yeah, so auto
blipping. To me, it isjust a new fun, easier on the
bike situation. Yeah. But thatthat Bober rev match very well. And
I mean it's a good bike.It's a great bike. I mean,
funk when I rode it up tokind of like, oh yeah, it's
fun. Why am I selling this? But no, I mean it's better
(01:05:00):
off in your hand, you'll writeit more than but you can dump off
all your all, your all myexperiments that I'm not liking. Yeah,
here, I'll take your sloppy seconds. All right, let last question.
We'll give this one to Clinton too. Oh okay, let's do that doing
a bang up job. You're answeringquestions? Is this it? Yeah?
(01:05:21):
Oh? I thought that was thesame one. Okay, Tony Hope,
Paul as well. I'm not sureif you want to use on the show
or not, even though I knowyou don't get into off roads as much
and would rather keep the power onthe street. I thought this was kind
(01:05:41):
of interesting, and I thought maybeyou would too. Keep up the good.
Is there a question in there?I think he wants us to off
road talk about off road. Thinkhe wants us to look at this fucking
tank. Oh, there's a localcar dealer that has one of those for
sale. Are these the truck?JK? Is this thing electric? Oh?
(01:06:03):
Okay, so it's the REVSONI tank. Is what we're looking at.
That's what he's sent in for usto talk about. I am curious.
I mean, off road wise,it looks cool. Have you done much
off roading or do you have anyuh nah, I mean other than on
my own type. No, youknow what it looks like an FJ Cruiser
on steroids to Jeep JK just kidding, yeah, just kidding into Jeep.
(01:06:30):
If you look at the interior, which they do put to say that have
SRT engines in them. If hequit scrolling through like we're fucking buying this
bitch. Yeah, if you couldscroll up and down faster, it'd be
even harder to horsepower six Leader iswhat I saw there for a split second.
Yeah, right there. They runall dodges and horsepower six point two
(01:06:51):
Leader V eight from the Demon JesusChrist. They also make the windows bulletproof
and things like that. I mean, I would say, you have my
attention, Like I'd love to driveone and see what it's like, especially
one with a thousand fucking horsepower.Um, but like emp protection, Like
you better know what you're talking aboutbefore you clean that one. I'll test
(01:07:14):
that shit out if we go testdrive. Do you all got some stuff
we could test all this thermal?I mean, this thing's like a special
operations vehicle? Is that what they'retrying to build? Wait, which still
isn't bad for thousand horse power.No, I mean that's a couple hundred
pounds more than an M five.Yeah, I mean M five forty five.
Body styling on that, especially outsideof the black is really say what
it costs? I think you gota speck on. I mean, is
(01:07:38):
it a concept car? Is thisalready in production? Bomb? Yeah,
there's one for sale here in Dallasat a at a used car dealer.
Where do they run? I haveno idea. I just remember seeing it.
But there's a couple hundred thousand,Yeah, bulletproof glass in I mean,
what are you put it together?Oh, they're starting in one hundred
and seventy five grand, but that'sstarting which if that's their night vision,
(01:07:58):
if that's their three and a halfliter V six four one seventy five,
their thousand horsepowers, probably several hundredthousand. So I'm gonna just get a
jake, I mean with some windowtin on there, one of them screen
protectors for some three three M blastexactly. Yeah. Say, I mean,
if you look, that's a JK. Yeah, it looks like a
fucking Bentley steering wheel. But youget those nice little lights in the roof.
(01:08:18):
I like the way they cover thejeep key by putting a luminium key
fob go down just a little bit, cleard us. Make sure that you
put some pictures of thing in whenwe're talking about cover the jeep key fob
with a fucking aluminum with screws init, just to be like this ain't
a jeep bitch, Give me twoon a m Res vonni Res vonny tank.
Huh, ain't mad at. It'dbe cool to fucking test one out.
(01:08:40):
I mean, for me, I'dnever buy one of those, but
it'd be fun to try out. They should give us, give us one,
get a press press cards. Yeah, I mean it does look kind
of cool. Let make a phonecall. See we can't get out there,
and you probably have not anymore yourlast tack good ship. Yeah,
(01:09:04):
they're really cool. So guys, okay, make sure to go check out
The Rugged Life. Where can theyget this? Everywhere books are sold obviously
I Amazon, It is kind ofa bookstore these days, but you can
get it anywhere else. Yeah, and if y'all email me twenty bucks each,
I will send you all the digitalYeah, I'll send your screenshots of
(01:09:27):
every page. Yeah, you couldraffle raffle off the PDF that you make.
Yeah, it's it's a great book. You guys know, We've talked
about it. I'm not huge intogoing through reading books. I get really
bored and tired, but this isit don't feel like a book. Yeah,
I mean to me, that's theperfect shitter book. Yeah. You
know, like every time you takea dump, you learn a new skill,
(01:09:49):
that's right, Right, I mean, every time your prostate gets massaged
by a big log of shit, you learn a new skill. That's right.
So you're excited at the same time, and and when you're not,
you know, a year later, after you've gone through all the skills,
you're at the hotel taking a shipand you'll be thinking about starting to fire
some weird ship. Yeah, buildingyour own house or that'd be like,
why didn't that dude put more bulletsin that hunting Yeah, I went to
(01:10:14):
the gun for the gun, guys. I purposely may have messed with you
guys, So go ahead and ripthe hunting section apart. I don't care.
Yeah, he was. When dowe get to drive your car and
vice versa? Like, can wedo a swap? You feel comfortable letting
me drive your Corvette and you droveFerrari? Yeah, I want to drive
that fucking thing. I want tosee him drab the Ferrari with everything off.
(01:10:35):
I don't know about everything off.I want to let want to keep
it. I don't keep my pantiesunaware panties. You take everything off?
Yeah, yesc off or ct off. Oh you're talking about that's trash and
control and shit technologist thing and clothespleas your talma clothes. How about both?
Could take my clothes off. Notrash and control, no panties,
(01:10:55):
wide fucking open everything. I pullup the gas naked. Yeah, that
reminds me in the second grade atAken Elementary here in Dallas, I remember
walking out to the flag Paul waitingfor my mom to pick me up one
day and at black trans am thekind that uh uh, who's the cannonball
run guy Burt Reynolds right, hadthe tea tops off of it and the
(01:11:18):
guy was sitting in the passenger seatbutt naked at an elementary school. Hold
on he was, he was,Yeah, that's that's how he got his
rocks off. He was butt naked. He had like curly top hair,
big old mustache and was that washis like perverted thing. Ended up getting
rested like two days later, Jesus, I remember standing waiting for my mom
(01:11:40):
and it was kind of like you'reup on stairs, like staircase that kind
of goes up to the school.Yeah, so you're up high and you
could just see down in the teatops and it's like that dude that's a
grown man and he's butt naked drivingaround, and he'd drive around and then
come back and drive around and justlike like a street sitting there like just
a streaker kind of guy. Justkids to look at them naked. It
(01:12:00):
turned him on. What a fuck? Is a great way to end the
show? What was it? Topyear? Now on that note, Yeah,
guys, make sure to go checkout all the plants. Links will
put them down in the description. That's it. He's bitches.
