Speaker 1 (00:01):
Welcome back to Unleash your Inner Radiance.
I'm Lisa, your transformationcoach, best-selling author and
real estate agent in thebeautiful state of Minnesota.
Today we are talking aboutsomething that holds so many of
us back opportunity and the fearof taking chances, chances.

(00:32):
Have you ever felt like anopportunity was right in front
of you?
So that opportunity is facingyou right in the face, standing
in front of you, you're lookingright at it, but fear kept you
frozen in place.
Maybe you questioned whetheryou were ready, and I know that
that stops a lot of us.

(00:53):
Do I know enough about it?
Am I smart enough?
You know, some of us are justneeding to know all the answers
before we take that big step, you know.

(01:14):
So if you're questioningyourself am I good enough, or
how about if it's the right time?
How about if it's the righttime?
Because a lot of people arelike, oh, I want to step up and
I really want to do that, but Ineed to learn this first.

(01:34):
It's not the right time.
How will I fit that into myschedule?
I'm not good enough, I'm notsmart enough, I'm not smart
enough.
Does any of that sound familiar?
Because if it does, thisepisode is for you.

(01:56):
So today I am going tochallenge you to step through
that open door, because beyondit is a life that you have been
dreaming of.

(02:16):
So let's dive in.
Opportunities are everywhere.
You don't always see the littlemiracles that are dropped in
front of you.
You don't always see theopportunities that are in front
of you, and that is why Ibrought up the first part of
this, because if you're notready for an opportunity, you're

(02:38):
not going to see it.
If you don't have the mindsetof whatever comes my way is
meant for me, you're not goingto see the opportunities and the
miracles that are absolutelyeverywhere.
So here's the catch Most peopledon't see them because they're

(03:06):
too afraid to look.
So that's the other caveatEither you're too afraid to look
at the miracles that are infront of you and take the
chances, or you're so busy thatyou don't see them, that you
don't see them.
Think about it.
How many times have you seensomeone else do something

(03:34):
amazing and thought, wow, I wishI could do that.
Maybe you've watched a friendstart a business, take an
incredible trip or make a reallybold career move, mold, move

(03:58):
and deep down.
You knew you wanted somethinglike that for yourself, but you
hesitated because you alwaysthought you weren't good enough
or you didn't have the rightsmarts, or it just wasn't the

(04:19):
time.
But here's what I want you toknow Opportunities don't wait
for you to be ready.
So take me, for instance.
If you step if I step backright now.

(04:40):
Where I'm at, I've written achapter in a book that became a
bestseller.
Where I'm at, I've written achapter in a book that became a
bestseller.
This past summer I started thispodcast a little over two years
I'm in my second year.

(05:00):
If I hadn't just recorded thatinitial introduction podcast two
years ago in August, I wouldn'tbe where I am today.
If, when the opportunity cameto me in May to write a chapter

(05:21):
with 25 other women that wasgoing to become a national
bestseller, if I hadn't takenthe opportunity at that point
and decided that I'm as ready asI'll ever be, that opportunity
would have passed me by.

(05:43):
Where I'm going with this is nowthat I'm in the position that
I'm in.
I sit and I think about all thethings that could have been
right.
I start to opportunities thatwere in front of me that at the

(06:06):
time I didn't take.
Now I probably didn't take thembecause one either I didn't see
them, or I saw them and thoughtI have a fear of where this is
going to go, so I'm not going totake it.
But there's that unknown right.

(06:29):
So do I have a fear of successor fear of failure Because I
didn't take that opportunity?
But where I know I messed upseveral times is I had
opportunities right in front ofme and I didn't take them.

(06:57):
And now I'm like, oh, wherewould I be with that?
Oh, where would I gone withthat?
And I think that had I takenthose opportunities, my life
would be totally different rightnow.
Would I still be doing the samethings that I'm doing?
Maybe, maybe not, but I thinkthat I bypassed many

(07:19):
opportunities that werepresented to me out of of fear
Of either failure or success.
So think about it.
It's really up to you when theyshow up and when I say they

(07:43):
show up, I mean opportunities itis up to you to decide whether
to take them or let them pass by.
But I want you to be in thepresent so that you see the
opportunities, so that you canmake the uniform decision of,

(08:05):
hey, this is an opportunitythat's going to do this for me
and I need to take that chance,or no.
That's not a right one for me,instead of going through life
and not even seeing theopportunities and the miracles
in front of you.
So when I stepped into realestate, I really doubted myself

(08:29):
because I was like you know, Ilove houses but, right, I wasn't
sure I had the skills andsometimes, you know, I still
have that problem.
But I didn't have the networkor the confidence.
But guess what?
I still said yes and five yearslater, I'm still doing it.

(08:50):
Right?
The podcast I'm in my secondseason.
I said yes.
I literally recorded my intropodcast episode 22 times before
I posted the first one, and soit was like you know, I did that

(09:10):
.
I decided after 22 times I wasgoing to just say I'm putting
this out to the universe.
And here you go, I'm puttingthis opportunity for myself out
there.
Opportunities will stretch you, they will stress you out, but

(09:38):
guess what?
They will also elevate you, because in coaching you become a
better person.
You elevate with each personthat comes to you.
My podcast do you know whatI've learned from people who

(09:58):
I've had on my podcast episodes?
It's been absolutelylife-changing.
It's actually the bestexperience I could have ever had
.
So, writing the book oh my God,I was terrified.
Who's going to read somethingthat I wrote right?

(10:22):
Who's going to do that?
But I still took the chancebecause it's something that I
wanted to do but I didn't knowhow to do it.
It was an opportunity.
I can write a chapter.
I'm only writing a chapterinstead of a book that's going
to fail right or a book that'sgoing to be successful.
I'm writing a chapter in a book, not knowing that it was going

(10:43):
to go to number one, but I stillwanted to test out how I write
and test out my skills, becauseI knew I had them.
But I didn't let fear stop mefrom doing it.

(11:03):
So fear is really why wehesitate, because fear is the
number one reason People letopportunities slip through their
fingers.
And, let's be honest, fear isvery powerful because you have
the fear of failure.
What if I mess up?

(11:24):
What if I fail?
Fear of judgment.
What will people say?
Really, why is she doing that?
Why does she think she can dothat, doing that?
Why does she think she can dothat?
Or how about fear of success?
What if I can't handle it?
What if, for some reason, mypodcast brings me success?

(11:47):
It brings me coaching clients,it brings me stages to speak on.
What if that happens?
Stages to speak on what if thathappens, what if I fail?

(12:08):
What if I'm not smart enough?
But here's the truth Fear isliterally just an excitement
without breath, because a lot oftimes when you fear something,
you fear an opportunity.
You actually fear the endresult of that opportunity.
So, instead of seeing yourselffail, see yourself succeed,

(12:37):
because that's all fear istrying to do, is fear is trying
to protect you.
Fail.
See yourself succeed, becausethat's all fear is trying to do
is fear is trying to protect you.
So fear is just excitementwithout breath.
Let that sink in.
The same adrenaline that makesyou afraid is the same energy

(12:58):
that fuels your success.
It's all about how youinterpret it.
So here's a mind shift, mindsetshift, mindset shift.
Instead of thinking what if Ifail, ask yourself what if this

(13:21):
is the best thing I ever do?
Or we can reframe fear.
The next time fear tries totalk you out of an opportunity,
talk back, remind yourself thatfear is proof that you're on the

(13:45):
edge of growth.
I had so much growth when Iwrote that chapter in that book.
So much growth it wasunbelievable and a lot of
healing, which is really what Ineeded to do.
So how do you step through thedoor of opportunity?

(14:11):
Step through the door ofopportunity.
How do we actually, how do weactually step through that door
when everything in us wants toretreat, wants to stay safe,

(14:32):
wants to just stay where we arebecause it's comfortable?
One, we have to decide andcommit.
Stop waiting for the perfectmoment, because, guess what, it
does not exist.
Make a choice and commit to itfully, and commit to it fully.

(14:56):
Two take the first step.
Action kills fear.
Even a tiny step forward ismomentum.
So when I decided to do thepodcast, it literally was me
standing there and I had to takethe step and say, nope, I'm

(15:17):
going to record an intro.
That's what I'm going to do.
Oh, I'm going to write my firstchapter in a book that I've
ever written.
Three surround yourself withexpanders.
Be around people who challengeand inspire you, because your

(15:42):
environment matters.
So, do you have people who arebringing you down?
You need to shh those people.
Do you have people who arecheering you on?
You need more of those people.
Four embrace failure as part ofthe process, because failure is

(16:04):
how you're going to grow.
Every successful person hasfailed the difference.
They didn't stop when they didthe difference.
They didn't stop when they didFive.

(16:24):
Visualize your future self.
Write a letter to your futureself talking about how you were
so incredibly successful withwhat you decided to do.
Imagine the version of you whohas already walked through the
door.
How does she feel?
What does she know that youdon't yet Step into her shoes?

(16:46):
What does she do?
Who does she talk to?
What does she have forbreakfast?
All those things, because allthose things are important.
Envisioning your future self isso incredibly important.

(17:12):
If you take one thing fromtoday's episode, let it be this
the life you want is on theother side of a chance you're
afraid to take.
Let me repeat that the life youwant is on the other side of a

(17:35):
chance you're afraid to take.
So I'm asking you what is theopportunity in front of you
right now?
What is the door that's waitingfor you to walk through?
I have a challenge for you.

(18:00):
Before this day ends, take onebold step toward an opportunity
that excites you.
Dm me or tag me on social mediaand tell me what you did,
because I want to cheer you on.

(18:20):
