What if the hardest month on the calendar could become the start of your strongest season? October carries birthdays and memorials in my family, the pink ribbons of breast cancer awareness, and the purple reminders of domestic violence. I open up about losing my mom, watching patterns emerge on our family tree, surviving accidents, and the moment I stopped waiting for “someday” and chose to fight for my own health, energy, and purpose.

We get honest about early detection and why mammograms and monthly self-checks save lives. I share simple, repeatable systems that make action easier than avoidance, along with compassionate guidance for anyone navigating domestic violence—especially the bruiseless forms that quietly erode self-worth. You’ll hear practical ways to support a friend in silence, steps to build a safety plan, and the mindset shift that turns fear into a sequence of doable moves. From there, we connect the dots to sustainable self-care: sleep, strength, nourishment, and supportive wellness tools used with discernment and zero medical claims.

This story is ultimately about authorship—how to turn grief into growth, pain into purpose, and awareness into action. I talk about coaching, inside-out healing, and the small daily choices that compound into a life you want to keep living. If you’ve been waiting for a sign, this is your structure to start: schedule the mammogram, check on your strongest friend, take one step your future self will thank you for. If you want help choosing wellness tools that fit your season, let’s connect and map your first two weeks together.

If this spoke to you, follow the show, share it with someone who needs the nudge, and leave a quick review so more people can find their way back to their glow. Your next chapter starts with one clear yes—to you.

SPEAKER_00 (00:01):
Hi, and welcome to Unleash Your Inner Radiance.
I am Lisa.
I am your life, wellness, transformation coach, and real
estate agent in the state ofMinnesota.
So today we are going to talkabout hook, heart, and
connection.
Doesn't that sound interesting?
Yes, it's gonna be.
October is always hitting medifferently.

(00:24):
Um it is the month that my momwas born, so it's her birthday,
and it was just a couple daysago.
It is domestic violenceawareness month.
It is breast cancer awarenessmonth.
And for many of us, it's areminder of the battles bought
silently, pain carried quietly, and the resilience that

(00:45):
certainly cannot be measured.
I've lived my share of loss andpain.
I lost my mom in 2017 to astroke and a brain aneurysm.
And for a long time, I reallytruly felt numb.
I was lost, I was trying to findmy place in life again, and it

(01:09):
almost felt impossible.
Then I met my dream boyfriendwho we went to high school
together, but we didn't reallyknow each other in high school.
Then we together experienced ahorrific motorcycle accident,

(01:34):
which he was in, and then acouple years later, a
life-changing car accident thatleft me fighting physical pain
for nearly a year.
And somewhere between the grief, the healing, and the exhaustion,
I realized something had tochange.

(01:56):
I couldn't keep waiting forsomeday.
I had to choose me.
You know, sometimes we get thewake-up call that we don't ask
for.
When my mom passed, it literallyfelt like the ground gave out

(02:18):
beneath me.
She had been through so muchsurviving breast cancer, holding
our family together with reallyquiet strength.
And then just when I thoughtshe'd beaten the hardest
battles, helped me through mydivorce, another one took her

(02:43):
from us.
She lost her life to breathstage four breast cancer.
And my uncle, her brother, passed from stomach cancer not
long before my mom did.
It was kind of like my uncle, then my aunt, and then my mom.

(03:08):
So when this happens in yourlife, in your family, you start
to see patterns when you look atyour family tree and wonder
prior to my mom getting breastcancer, how many people in my
mom's family on my mom's sidehad breast cancer, but it was
taboo and you just didn't talkabout it back then.

(03:31):
So you just kind of start to askyourself, what am I doing right
now to change my story?
To change the story of ourfamily, right?
Kind of to rewrite it.
So, according to the AmericanCancer Society, breast cancer

(03:52):
actually affects one in eightwomen in the United States.
It's almost the most commoncancer among women worldwide.
And yet, we all know that earlydetection increases survival and
it increases those survivalrates by nearly 99% when caught

(04:17):
in stage one.
Yet there's a lot of us in thatdon't do these, you know,
regularly.
I do only because my mom hadbreast cancer, right?
But when my mom got breastcancer, she hadn't been to the
doctor for a mammogram in fiveyears.

(04:39):
So that was a whole notherbattle as to how she ended up
there.
But if you are listening rightnow, go schedule your mammogram,
do your monthly self-check, andbe proactive because your health
is not an inconvenience, it'syour legacy.

(04:59):
So go get those tatas checked.
I mean, it is important, and Iknow that a lot of people don't
do it enough.
And I have a lot of friends whohave survived breast cancer, and
oh my goodness, I am so gratefulfor each and every one of them.

(05:20):
Now let's talk a little bitabout the silent epidemic, which
is domestic violence.
October also reminds us of thiskind of pain, right?
The kind that we don't seeunless we see bruises, because
there's more to bruises, andit's actually the non-bruising

(05:44):
type of domestic violence thatis the worst.
It's the one that causes themost damage, right?
Did you know that one in threewomen will experience physical
or emotional abuse in theirlifetime?
Physical abuse is totallydifferent than emotional and
psychological and sexual andfinancial and all that.

(06:06):
That means that someone youknow, or maybe even someone you
love, is living in that silenceright now.
Because, like I was just saying, domestic violence isn't always
about bruises.
Sometimes it's emotionalmanipulation or control or fear

(06:31):
or walking on eggshells.
It's it's like this slow erosionof your self-worth.
And when you finally find thecourage to leave, it's the
hardest, bravest act ofself-love that you will ever do

(06:52):
for yourself.
If this is your story, I want toknow.
Because I want you to know thatyou are not broken, you are not
weak, you are just becoming.

(08:40):
It can't anymore be likesomeday.
I when I have time, right?
I when I when I have time, Iwill start getting on the
treadmill.
No, that's not a someday.
Because someday might be toolate.
So why wouldn't you want to dosomething for yourself?

(09:02):
Because it's self-care.
You're not gonna do it foranyone else, you're gonna do it
for you because you love you.
So right now, I'm doing itbecause I'm worth it, and that's
why you should too.

(09:23):
That's why I chose to partnerwith Nueva.
I mean, listening to them andtheir story is something because
the company they worked for,Mordare, shut its doors on
payday and they had to figurethemselves out, right?
But this company focuses onhealing from the inside out with

(09:50):
peptide-based wellness productsdesigned to help our bodies
regenerate, recover, and radiatefrom within, right?
So I have breast cancer in myfamily, I have stomach cancer in
my family, I have dementia in myfamily.
I'm not making any medicalclaims here at all, at all.

(10:15):
But if I can choose to dosomething that I know will make
my life better in the future, because we have peptides in our
body, right?
We have oxygen in our body, right?
So why not do things for yourbody that will help you?

(10:36):
And if you are over the age of40, you are premenopausal,
menopausal, or post-menopausal.
I am 58 years old and I ampostmenopausal by a long shot.
And I just decided I was gonnado this for me, for my body, so
that when I have grandkids, Ican get down on the floor.

(10:59):
I can still have fun, right?
And and literally just remember,I am not making any medical
claims, but I am saying this.
We need to pay attention to whatwe put in our bodies.
We need to give our bodies whatthey deserve, not just to

(11:23):
survive, but we want our bodiesto thrive.
I feel the absolute healthiest Ihave felt in a long time, and
that's going through, you know,my mom's passing, um, um my
boyfriend in a motorcycleaccident, us in a major car
accident, my dad having dementiaand passing.

(11:45):
I've been through a lot ofstuff, and I just think, wow, I
need to do this for me.
That's what I need to do it forbecause I'm important and I'm
worth it.
Because when you're sick, Idon't know.

(12:11):
You know, when you're sick, youjust have to get better, right?
But when you've seen sicknesssteal your loved ones, when you
felt your own body break downfrom pain and trauma, you
realize that the most powerfulact of rebellion is choosing to

(12:34):
live well.
Right?
Do it for you, do it to make youfeel the best.
I mean, right now, if I can tellyou what nitro does for me, five
o'clock in the morning, I amgoing for 15 hours straight.

(12:54):
I sleep like a baby, but I gofor 15 hours straight.
So I want to take us from theturning point from pain to
purpose, right?
Because what's your purpose?
What is your purpose?

(13:15):
My mom's passing, my caraccident, the emotional scars
from my past, they could havebroken me, and actually they did
for a while, but instead theyhave become the soil where my
purpose has begun to grow,right?
It just took me a while to getto that point, but I'm there,

(13:43):
and that's the thing abouthealing.
It doesn't mean that the painnever happened, it means that
you decided your future deservedmore than your past could ever
offer you.
I found my passion throughcoaching, through wellness,

(14:06):
through transformation, helpingother women and men rise from
their ashes, find balance, andlive a radiant alignment.
Because healing isn't selfish,self-care isn't selfish, it's

(14:26):
sacred.
So here's what I want you guysto do today.
Schedule your mammogram, checkon your strong friend, because
there might be a reason whythey're being strong, and take

(14:48):
one step, just one step, towardsnourishing your body from the
inside out.
And if you've been waiting for asign to start your wellness
journey, say yes to your ownhealth.

(15:09):
You are worth the time, you areworth the effort, and you are
worth the healing.
So let's take a moment to dothis this month.
We are going to take this monthto raise awareness to change

(15:30):
your life with me, Lisa, toexplore any wellness products
that you want.
If you want to talk about Nueva, they are hands down the best.
And if you guys want to starthealing from the inside out,
let's connect.

(15:50):
I'll show you exactly where tostart.
So I just want you guys toremember that you are the author
of your next chapter.
You are the author of the restof your life.
What are you gonna do with it?

(16:12):
Because maybe, just maybe themost beautiful thing that you
will ever do is finally say yesto you.
Because radiance isn't somethingyou find.
It's something you remember, andyour glow it's coming back

(16:38):
stronger than ever.
See you guys next week.
