Everyone carries invisible scripts about who they're supposed to be, what they deserve, and how money works – but few of us stop to question where these beliefs actually came from. As your Catalyst Coach, I'm pulling back the curtain on the patterns we unconsciously inherited as children that continue shaping our adult lives around self-worth, success, and financial abundance.

This episode gets deeply personal as I share how becoming the default "mom" to my younger brothers at age 14 programmed me to believe my value was tied exclusively to what I could do for others. Sound familiar? Whether you were the responsible eldest, the peacemaker, the achiever, or the invisible child, these early roles create templates for how we show up in relationships, careers, and especially in our relationship with money.

The stories we tell ourselves about money – "you have to work hard for every dollar," "we can't afford that," or "people like us don't have money" – aren't random thoughts. They're inherited beliefs passed through generations that silently limit what we allow ourselves to earn, charge, or receive. The breakthrough comes when we recognize these narratives aren't actually ours. Through powerful journaling prompts and the forgiveness work that transformed my own life, I'll guide you toward releasing these old stories and writing new ones aligned with your true worth. Your radiance isn't something you earn through productivity or perfection – it's your birthright waiting to be reclaimed. Join me next week as we continue this healing journey by unlearning hustle culture and finding flow instead.

Before you go, grab your journal and ask yourself:
✨ What story did I inherit around money, success, or worth?
✨ Where did that story come from?
✨ And… what would I write instead, if I believed I was already enough?

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey, radiant Souls, welcome back to Unleash your
Inner Radiance.
I'm Lisa, your Catalyst, life, wellness and Transformation
Coach, and in this episode weare going to have some fun.
Today we're going to dive intoa topic that lives underneath so
many of our adult struggleswith self-worth, self-confidence

(00:21):
, money, even our relationships.
These are the stories that weinherited.
So I'm talking about thepatterns we picked up as kids,
the roles we stepped into waytoo early, the unspoken rules,
the expectations, the be a goodgirl, don't be a burden messages

(00:42):
and the money beliefs that wepassed down from generation to
generation to generation beforeus.
Some of you know this I am theoldest child.
I have two, three youngerbrothers One passed away and as
the oldest daughter, I had tostep into the role of mother

(01:05):
when I was in ninth grade, notbecause my mom left my dad, but
because my mom decided when Iwas in ninth grade she was going
back to school and to work fulltime.
So the mom, who stayed home allthese years, just decided I'm
going to go do this for myself.
Decided I'm going to go do thisfor myself.

(01:32):
So if you are an oldestdaughter, too, you probably
already know where I'm going togo with this right Because I was
the helper, I was the caretaker, I was the overachiever, the
one who held it all togetherbecause she decided she was
going to go do that.
I didn't just grow up in thatyear, I grew up fast because I

(01:52):
had to.
I had two younger brothers, andthat pressure shaped me.
But along with that, it alsowounded me, and that we're going
to talk about in a little bit,and that we're going to talk
about in a little bit.
It told me that my self-worthwas wrapped up in what I could
do, give or carry for others.

(02:14):
That was what my self-worth was, and let's talk about.
When it came to money, oh, Iinherited all the things you
have to work hard for everydollar.
Money doesn't grow on trees.
We can't afford that.
People like us just don't havemoney Sound familiar.

(02:36):
These beliefs in my life, although silent, invisible, were
very powerful, and until Istopped and asked whose story is
this, and is it even mine tocarry anymore?
But here's what I want you toknow.
So much of the self-doubt, theburnout, the fear of charging

(03:03):
what you're worth or evenletting yourself desire more,
isn't because you're broken.
It's because you're stilloperating from those old
programs that were never trulyyours to begin with.
So in this episode, we're goingto talk about how childhood
roles and family dynamics shapeyour identity.

(03:26):
Kind of like mine, when my momjust up and decides I'm going to
go back to work and I'm goingto go back to school.
Okay, who's going to be the mom?
Oh, wait me, because I'm theoldest and I'm the girl.
Right, that's how that works.
How about we talk about thespecific wounds, your worth

(03:53):
wounds that many of us carryinto adulthood, the lack of
self-worth that we carry, andhow about common money
narratives that we inherit andhow we spot them?
Because you have to stop andlook and go.
This has to end.
Or, I'm also going to give yousimple journaling prompts to
begin releasing the old storiesand rewriting the new ones, and

(04:17):
I want to talk about why it'snot selfish to heal.
It's actually how we set futuregenerations free.
I also want to share a piece ofmy own chapter from Unstoppable
4, the powerhouse edition, whichI am so blessed to have been a
part of.
I got to write a chapter in aninternational book, um, top

(04:47):
selling in the United States.
It truly was a powerhouse, andI got to write it with 25 other
women.
So when I was writing, that isabout the moment that I realized
I had been living out someoneelse's definition of enough, and

(05:09):
I want to talk to you about howI began the sacred work of
rewriting that narrative.
So I put myself through a hugeforgiveness journey Forgiving
myself, forgiving others who haddone wrong to me, forgiving
past, like my childhood, andjust all the years up to now

(05:36):
where I'm 58.
And I took all that I had doneand I put it into my signature
course.
So my signature course isreally powerful and if you have
anyone, including yourself, whoyou need to forgive, trust me,

(05:58):
this course is a life changerand it will give you what you
need to question everything andfind who you are.
So I have it on discount rightnow because I'm relaunching it

(06:20):
and I'm super excited about it,so you can click down in the
show notes and find out about it.
But here's the truth you get tochoose your story now.
You get to rewrite your script.
You get to decide what successlooks like, what money means to
you and what you're worthy of.

(06:43):
To decide that and Radiant Oneyou are so worth so much more
than what you've been led tobelieve.
So here.

(07:05):
I'm going to give you a littlecall to action.
Before we go, I want you tograb your journal and ask
yourself these three questionsOne, what story did I inherit
around money, success andself-worth?
Two, where did that story comefrom?
And three, what would I writeinstead if I believed I was

(07:31):
already enough?
What would you write I'd loveto hear?
And then I want you to getready for next week's episode.
We are going to unlearn thehustle.
We are going to redefinesuccess and finding flow Got to

(07:51):
get into that flow right.
So, if you've ever tied yourvalue to how much you do, how
productive you are or howperfectly you perform, this
one's for you, because we justneed to do things messy.
That is the best way to do itright.
We are just going to do itmessy.
That is the best way to do itright.
We are just going to do itmessy.

(08:13):
We're not going to beperfectionist, because
perfectionism is not what weneed to do.
And we will talk about breakingthe addiction to hustle culture,
because a lot of us get in thathustle culture, especially new
moms.
Right, you got to have a job.
You got to have kids.
You got to have kids.
They got to go to daycare, theygot to be in sports.

(08:33):
It's hustle, hustle, hustle, hustle, and I want you to learn
how to lead with intention, alignment and flow.
So don't miss it.
Until then, I want you to keepshining, keep healing and
remember your radiance isn'tsomething you earn, it is

(08:55):
something you reclaim.
See you next week.
