Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome back,
beautiful souls, to Unleash your
Inner Radiance.
I'm your host, lisa Dorn, yourCatalyst, life, wellness and
Transformation Coach, and I amso very glad that you guys are
here.
If you are listening to thisepisode, chances are you've
lived some life, right, I am 58years old, so I've lived a lot
of life, but you've also hadmoments that cracked you open,
(00:23):
that maybe had you question yourworth, your self-worth, your
strength, your confidence, yourpath and maybe even your faith.
And if you have ever looked atyour past and thought, I can't
change this, you're absolutelyright about that.
You can't change it.
(00:43):
You can't change anything thathas happened to you, and, trust
me, my story is quite the story, but guess what?
You can rewrite it, and that'sexactly what this new season of
this podcast is all about.
I'm, like, so excited about it.
So let's talk first aboutbreaking points, because you
(01:04):
know people often ask me, lisa, where did your journey really
begin?
And while I could point to anynumber of moments, it really
started in the spaces that noone saw, in the grief that
blanketed my family everyChristmas after my baby brother,
(01:29):
michael passed away, in thefinancial stress that made money
feel like a monster under thebed, or even in the way that I
learned to shrink myself tosurvive, to shrink myself to
survive.
You know that little girl fromCoon Rapids, minnesota.
(01:49):
She never stopped trying butshe stopped believing that she
was worthy.
I carried that belief, thatquiet, heavy, invisible belief,
(02:10):
for decades Through my teenageyears, into my marriage, into
motherhood.
I literally gave everything inme to my daughters and I didn't
know how to give any of it tomyself.
So we all have defining momentsin our lives and let me walk
(02:40):
you through a few of the momentsthat changed everything for me,
and let's see if any of themyou can relate to.
So a divorce that unraveled 21years of trying, a job loss
(03:01):
after 24 year career that leftme feeling absolutely invisible.
It left me feeling so lost andhard to find myself.
The death of my mother that wasvery sudden, it was brutal and
(03:31):
unprocessed and it took me along time to come to terms with
it and process it.
I don't really think at thetime I actually mourned her.
And then came that February daythat brought me face to face
(03:52):
with my mortality a car accident, a frozen day, a bridge and a
plunge into icy water.
And somehow, by God's grace, wesurvived that day.
But also, something inside ofme changed that day and it's
(04:19):
taken me a while to reallyunderstand that change and to
come to terms with that change, because it wasn't clarity at all
.
It was like a quiet awakening.
It's really weird, it's like alittle whisper that said Lisa,
(04:40):
your story isn't over, startwriting the next chapter.
So I did.
Now, if we go back and talkabout being broken, we can talk
about being broken and goingfrom broken to becoming right,
(05:05):
because since then I've beenrebuilding and I want you guys
to go on the journey and rebuildtoo.
I've embraced what I onceavoided like really avoided.
I have embraced self-worth.
(05:25):
I have embraced forgiveness.
I have a spiritual reconnectionand the scary, a beautiful
voice to start again.
At 58 years old.
I launched my business Changeyour Life with Lisa Coaching a
(05:54):
couple years ago.
I became a best-selling authorlast year and I stepped into the
podcast space, scared butdetermined.
Right, I know I took a littlebreak recently.
I'm coming up on my dad'sbirthday on August 20th, and
(06:21):
that is the first day, two yearsago, that I put out my first
trailer.
So I did it on his birthday andhe has since passed, but
nonetheless, that is just aspecial day.
So I'm coming up on two years.
I'm very scared Still.
I still question who's going tolisten to me?
(06:44):
Do I have things to say topeople?
But I think I do.
And then recently I partneredwith Nueva and became a founding
partner right, a foundingpartner, wow.
(07:11):
Founding member.
Founding partner, foundingmember because I truly believe
that wellness comes from theinside out, and wellness that
works, you need to do it fromthe inside out.
It's not just for your body, but it's for your life and you
know what else.
I'm finally in a relationshipwhere I feel safe and seen.
And then I got my dog Dax.
He reminds me daily whatunconditional love looks like.
(07:35):
So I am learning to live withjoy again, not in spite of my
story, but because of it.
So I want to put an invitationout to you guys.
Here's what I want to leave youwith today.
(07:57):
I want to leave you with today.
You may not get to rewrite whathappened to you, but you can
absolutely get to rewrite themeaning that you give it.
You are not broken, you are nottoo much, you are in the
(08:21):
becoming, and if you are readyto take one small step toward
that version of yourself, theone who knows her worth, who
forgives, who dares to dreamagain, then you are in the right
place.
(08:41):
