In this episode, Candace talks to father and daughter duo, Scott and Scarlette Kinderman. Scott is the current Director of Business Intelligence and a volunteer that advocates for sexual assault at BeLEAF Survivors, Inc. While Scarlette is the upcoming Regional Community Partnerships Coordinator for Racine and Kenosha with Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin. She received the Bronze Congressional Award and the Silver President's Volunteer Service Award for her work in the non-profit sector.
Scott is a male survivor who bravely opened up about his molestation story and journey to overcoming the unfortunate circumstances he went through and becoming a loving father to his beautiful children. In addition, Scarlett also shares how Scott's past trauma never manifested in his interactions with her and his family.
For Scott, forgiveness is the giving up of the power of the pain over you. Listen to Scott and Scarlett as they strive to empower others through volunteer work through sharing their own stories to help those who feel like they don't have a voice.
