This trend of school shootings began long ago and continues
into the 21st century. On October 2nd of 1997, a boy by
the name of Luke Woodham went into his house with a butcher
knife and stabbed his mother 18 times and as she lied bleeding

school in Pearl, Ms. and at thishigh school in Pearl, Ms. he

ended up shooting a girl at point blank range and killing
her. He proceeded down the halls and
killed another boy and by the time he was done, six other

name or number of the beast, it does show where our world is
headed. The Smashing Pumpkins, who were
one of the most successful alternative bands of the 1990s,
have also promoted the coming Antichrist.

The Smashing Pumpkins have repeatedly blasphemed God

that each man, each person, eachman and woman will give an
account before God and stand before God to be sentenced to
heaven or hell. And the Bible says, as we've
seen, whoever's name is not found in Christ or the Lamb's
book of life will be thrown intothe lake of fire.
I believe that God wanted you towatch this video presentation.
He's shown you the evidence thathe is real, that Satan is real.

And now we are in the valley of decision and you are accountable
before God. In fact, on Judgement Day, if
you refuse to receive Jesus Christ, one of the things I

right now and turn to Jesus Christ for his mercy because we

You see, you of all people, along with everybody else that
knows the truth and rebels against God and is leading

people astray, have even greaterjudgement.
The Bible says. The Bible says that there's
greater damnation for those who know the truth.
There's greater damnation for those who lead people into sin.
There's greater sin, as Jesus said, in greater damnation.
In fact, Jesus said for those who are especially evil, they're
even more accountable and that the blackness of darkness is
reserved for them, a special place in hell.

In fact, of Judas, it was said because he knew the truth and he
turned away from Jesus Christ. It says it was better for him
that he was never born. It wouldn't be better if he was
never born in the fate that he is now suffering.
In fact, the Bible says he went to his own place.
It says that he was a set of destruction.
It says of the wicked who have more light that will be more
tolerable in the day of judgmentfor Sodom and Gomorrah, those

wicked cities, than for them. Jesus said he that's not with me
is against me. You're either with Jesus or you
are against Jesus. You are either for Christ
following him, or you are against Christ and Antichrist.
He leaves us no middle ground. To not make a choice is to make
a choice. It doesn't matter how good we
think we are, we can't be good enough to earn heaven.

Even if you're watching, you're saying, wow, I'm glad I'm not
that wicked. I'm glad I'm a good person.
Then I guess I don't need Jesus.No, there's no such thing as a
good person. In fact, the Bible says, as
we've seen before, all of sinning comes short of God's
glory. Doesn't matter how good you
think you are, if you just breakone of the commandments, the
Bible says you're guilty of breaking the whole law.
If you're trusting and keeping God's commandments and say,

(01:16:40):
well, I'm a good person and I keep some of the commandments,
or I keep the commandments. You know what?
If you look at the 10 commandments as a chain of 10
links and you're trusting in that thing to hold you out of
hell, and you're suspended over hell by those 10 links.
If you just break one of those links, you are doomed to hell
because you've broken the whole chain or you've broken the whole
law and you are doomed. You are just doomed.

(01:17:03):
There's no way you can be saved by your goodness and your
vadnais condemns you as it condemns all of us as human
beings. Outside of what Jesus Christ
did, there's not a chance to be saved.
In fact, only Jesus Christ couldpay for our sins.
So you have payment had to be made.
Either we're going to pay for our sins in hell because we are
sinners and God is just and being just He has to give us

(01:17:25):
what we deserve. You see, He's holy and just and
His Holiness and His justice determined that His very nature
has to punish sin or He would not be holy and just.
Just like a judge who lets a child bless her go or let's a
criminal go is unjust. God would be unjust if He didn't
punish us. But God is also love.
So the Bible tells us that God reached out to us in his love.

(01:17:45):
He reached out to us in His Holiness and also in his love to
save us. And that's why he sent Jesus
Christ in the world. That's why God became a man that
God would be able to save us because the payment had to be
made and He didn't want us to have to make it.
But He had his Son pay in our place as a substitute.
He died in our place. In fact, He's the only one that

could do it. Why?
Because he's infinite, you see, He could pay it in a finite
amount of time. He took hell upon himself on
Calvary's cross, as he said, My God, my God, why hast thou
forsaken me? And he was separated from his
Father, and the earth and everything in the sky turned
black, and he experienced what we deserved radically.

(01:18:26):
He experienced it. In fact, he could experience it
in just a few hours. Because he's infinite.
You see us as finite beings. If we go to hell, we have to
suffer infinitely for our sins. But you see him being infinite,
he could suffer in a finite amount of time because he had an
infinite punishment, because anykind of punishment to God is
infinite, because he's an infinite being.

(01:18:46):
He paid for your sins on the cross.
He took the hell that you were going to upon himself if because
He loves you, because He wants you, in fact, thank God for him.
Aleister Crowley teaches what? Do what thou wilt.
Do your own thing, be your own. God is the whole of his law.
Jesus said not my will, but thine be done and thank God.

He said that because they're in the garden of the Gethsemane as
Satan was tempting him and trying to keep him from going to

mankind. Jesus lamented and prayed
because he realized that he had to take God's wrath upon himself

punished for sin. And what's incredible is he

said, Father, if possible, let this cup pass for me because it
wasn't just dying on a cross physically, he was going to be
taking the wrath of God upon himself, the wrath that you and
I deserve, the wrath that everybody deserves coming upon
him. One person suffering for
everybody else. Absolutely mind boggling,
absolutely incredible. And Jesus Christ said, Father,

if it's possible, let this cup pass from me.
Meaning if mankind can be saved any other way, if there's any
other way that mankind can be saved, let this cup pass from
me. Obviously there wasn't.
That's why Jesus said the Son ofMan must be lifted up.
He must die to redeem us. Jesus anguished so much to go to
the cross that the Bible tells us he sweat, as it were, great

(01:20:13):
drops of blood. We're falling on the ground.
And that's a medical term. There's a medical term called
hematuridosis, which is very rare, but a few people have had
it where the capillaries in their head explode because of
such stress that they begin to ooze out blood.
He was sweating, He was praying,He was oozing out blood because
it was so hard to actually do what he had to do.

(01:20:35):
None of us could ever do it and he did it.
Now that is incredible love. He went to the cross and he paid
for our sins and the human race mocked him when he was on the
cross. They spit at him and whipped him
before he got to the crossover and over again He was a shredded
piece of hamburger. His, his back looked like like
just oozing hamburger. He went to the cross and they
stuck the crown of thorns on him, which represented the curse

(01:20:57):
the the cursed ground, the thorns that we deserve, the
curse that we deserve because ofour sin.
He accepted that upon himself, God became a man, accepted that
to redeem US men, including the people that he said Father
forgive them when he was on the cross for they don't know what
they do, Redeeming those who arehating him and spitting at him,
loving them, dying for them. That's incredible love.

Does Satan love you like that? Did a Lester Crowley love you
like that? Do any of these rock stars care
about you like that? No, many of them, as we see,
want to bring you into hell. They sold their souls for fame
and fortune. They said they'll let Satan use
them to bring you to the pit forpower.
God wants you. Though.
God came, became a man to get your soul to save you from hell.

The Bible says that God is not willing that any should perish,
but that all should come to repentance.
And Jesus said, how often I havecome to gather you together as a
hand, as her chicks. But you were unwilling.
He says he has no pleasure in the death of the wicked.
He says turn ye, turn ye. Why will you not turn?
You know what? When you stand before God, if
you're sense to hell, it won't be because God didn't do
something for you, because God did not call out to you.

It will because you spurned his call and you said no, and you
were allowed yourself in your pride to be conned by Satan.
But the Bible says whoever will call upon the name of the Lord
shall be saved. The Scriptures say in John 637.
Perhaps you're saying, you know what?
This all sounds great, but I've been too bad, Joe, you don't
know what I've done. I don't know if he'll forgive
me. You know what Jesus says to you?

He said, whoever comes to me, I will not cast them out.
That's a promise if you come to him because, hey, if he came to
pay for man's sins and go through the brutality of the
cross, how much more will he receive you unto himself?
You know the apostle Paul was wickeder than you are.
In fact, Paul said he was. He said he was the chief of

sinners. He said in First Timothy chapter
one that God saved him as the chief of sinners.
He was going out, having Christians killed.
He was very Antichrist. He thought he was doing God's
service as a good Jew. And then Jesus Christ appeared
to him. Bam.
He fell down as he was blinded by the light.
And he said to Jesus, Jesus first said to him, Saul, Saul,
why persecutest thou me? Because when you're messing with

your my people, you're messing with me.
And he said, Lord, is that you? He was converted.
And then Paul said that the Lordsaved him.
Save Paul, who ended up writing about half of the New Testament.
Save Paul. Paul said he saved me as the
chief or the worst of sinners, to show people later on that I
was a pattern, that if he could save me, he could save anybody

who would come to Jesus Christ. That means you.
Can you be good enough? No.
The whole point is you're not good enough.
None of us are good enough. It's what Jesus did.
It's his goodness, it's his grace.
The Bible says by grace are you saved through faith, that not of
yourselves. It's a gift of God, lest any man
should boast. You simply need to receive the
life he offers. The Bible says as many as

(01:23:52):
received him, He gave the right to become the children of God,
except you need to turn to him. See, Jesus said whoever
acknowledges me before men, I'llacknowledge him before my Father
in heaven and the angels in heaven.
But whoever denies me before men, I will deny him before the
Father and before the angels in heaven.
So you need to be born again. You need to be born from above.

Jesus said unless you are born again, you cannot see the
Kingdom of God. Unless one is born again, you
cannot see in the Kingdom of God.
And what does he mean? Obviously he doesn't mean
physically. He's talking about spiritually.
You see, spiritually, when mankind's sin, he was separated
from God and spiritual death came upon him.
That's separation from God. But if you realize that you're

separated from God, that you're dead, spiritually alienated from
God, and you receive what Jesus Christ did in the cross and
you're forgiven that forgiveness, that that that wall
of sin is forgiven, then you areallowed to become one with God.
Jesus Christ comes into your heart.
You are spiritually alive again.You are born again.
You need to be born from above. And I encourage you right now, I

beg you, all that you've seen isnot in vain because we know
many, many people will be saved.But we pray that you are one of
them. We pray that you'll fall on your
knees right now and you'll say, God be merciful to me, a Sinner.
I receive Jesus Christ as my savior.
I'm not going to let Satan deceive me.
I don't want to spend eternity burning in hell forever and
ever. That's a long time that never

You couldn't unless you were totally deceived by Satan.
Say no to Satan, Say yes to the Lord, Respond to the work of the
Spirit he's seeking to do in your heart, and say this prayer

said, if you repent of your sin and you turn to Him, you'll be
saved. He says if you don't repent, He

says unless you repent, you shall all likewise perish.
If you refuse to repent, that means turn to Jesus Christ away
from your sin, you will perish. But if right now you say, you
know what, I want to follow Jesus, doesn't mean you're going
to be absolutely perfect, but itmeans you're going to seek him
and follow him and seek to be like Him, and you're going to go
on the path perfection and try to follow him.
I would encourage you right now.I know a lot of you want to do

that. You're saying, of course I want
to do that. How could I not pray this with
me? God's looking at your heart, OK?
He sees everything. He's omnipresent.
He's watching you right now and if you ask Jesus Christ into
your heart and receive him as your Lord and Savior, you say, I
want to be for real. I really want to follow Jesus.
What did he say? What's his promise and God

cannot lie. The Bible says, whoever comes to
me, I will not cast out you cometo him right now and say this
prayer, repeat after me. Pray to the Lord.
His ears are are are not far from you.
The Bible says he's right here to listen.
Let's pray. Father in Heaven, go ahead and
pray that Father in Heaven, please forgive me of my sins.

I have broken your law. I deserve death.
I thank you that Jesus paid the price, that he loved me so much,
even the midst of my wickedness and my rebellion, while we were
yet sinners, he died for us. Jesus, come into my heart.

Forgive me of my sins. Help me to live a holy life.
Help me to live a godly life, Father, in Jesus name.
Thank you for salvation, which is a free gift that I can't

something incredibly heavy. I want you to think about where
you're going now that you've received Jesus Christ, where
you're headed if you're following Jesus Christ now, or
what you're missing if you've rejected Jesus Christ.
And hopefully he'll turn to God before it's too late because our
lives are very short relative totime.
I want to talk about heaven. I didn't want to leave you on

(01:28:31):
the note of hell. Heaven is absolutely incredible.
In fact, the Columbine killers, before they killed Rachel Scott
and Cassie Bernal, it seems to us as though God was speaking to
them and maybe many more of those children about eternity.
Because Cassie Bernal had this incredibly strong conviction in
her heart that she wanted to go to heaven.

(01:28:51):
So much so that she was talking about how she wanted to go to
heaven, that her mother was like, wow, don't you want to be
here with us? But I believe it's because God
was speaking so much to her. And also Rachel Scott, who was
murdered by the Columbine killers.
What did Rachel go through? Absolutely incredible.
She wrote in her journal that this would be her last year on
the earth and that she knew she was going to be with the Lord

(01:29:12):
prior to her being killed. Not long before she was killed,
she wrote that down. Somehow God had spoken that to
her. You see, God has a place
reserved for us. Jesus said that there's this
wonderful place for us called heaven.
And I want to look at that rightnow and also look at some of the
people that are there right now and some of the people that are
going there because they've turned against Satan in his

(01:29:32):
musical dark realm, in that dark, evil, musical vortex
whereby he's seeking to sweep asmany as he can to hell.
And they've been yanked out by the grace of Jesus Christ.
Let's look at heaven. There has been a shooting within
the past hour at Columbine High School in Jefferson County.
As tragic as the Columbine massacre was, God is now using
the tragedy to give parents a wake up call to what is actually

(01:29:55):
happening in youth culture and in the process bringing
thousands of young people to Christ.
We were on the floor climbing under tables, over backpacks and
I looked over to my right and there's pipe bombs going off.
You just hear gunshots and. Bombs.
I believe that there were angelsall around us because those

(01:30:16):
three kids right behind, they were, they were directly behind
me. And that's when I committed
myself to Christ. I wasn't, it wasn't because I
was afraid to die or get shot. It's because it was time.

(01:30:36):
We pray that your child's not onthe injured list.
And then pretty soon you start praying, Lord, if she's injured,
we'll take care of her. And you almost are praying she's
one of the injured instead of one of the missing.
I found those hours of waiting to be the most difficult thing.

(01:30:57):
I I didn't sleep that night because every time I close my
eyes, I, I imagine her in the library, which, what she look
like she was cold, you know, is somebody taking care of her?

(01:31:20):
Few people are aware of the factthat before Cassie Bernal was
gunned down at Columbine High, she also was bound by Satanic
forces. Through music and the darkness
of youth culture, through rock groups like Marilyn Manson,
Satan took this once sweet little girl who had once given
her life to Jesus and turned herinto a bitter and murderous
young lady. In fact, Cassie had been brought
so far down that she was preparing to kill her own

(01:31:41):
parents. She told me that she had given
her soul to Satan and because ofthat she felt completely
alienated from God. Cassie's close friends recounted
how Cassie had actually given her soul to Satan.
People need to realize that Cassie wasn't just a perfect
little Christian girl her whole life.
The kids that actually, you know, that killed her, I mean,

(01:32:02):
she was going down that same path.
All I've got all. I am all.
My dream, all my plans. I'm holding back.

(01:32:28):
I'm holding nothing back from here.
All I've got all. I hope parents will understand

(01:32:58):
that it's OK to intervene in your kids lives and to take a
strong stand that there is hope to bring them out and back and
put them on the pathway to beingproductive adults.
Here we are at the Cassie BernalYouth Building, which is a place
where Cassie used to meet with her church family.
It was in this building that I was able to ask Brad Bernal

(01:33:21):
about the steps that he and his wife Misty took to rescue Cassie
from pop culture. Cassie was on the same road to
destruction as were her killers,but by God's grace and tough
love, Brad and Misty were able to snatch her from the fire.
Brad, being a father of three children and loving them just
incredibly, I can't fathom goingthrough what you went through

(01:33:41):
with Cassie and have your daughter, you know, shot in the
head the pain you must have endured.
How did the Lord? Get you through that.
How are you able to deal with that?
Speak to us about what you went through during that time.
Well, to put it in a nutshell Joe, April 20th, 1999, 5:30 in
the morning was the last time I talked to Cassie.

(01:34:02):
I said goodbye to her as I was leaving work, not knowing that
was the last time I was going tosee her.
By by 9:45 that morning, I was feeling ill in my stomach.
I was getting sick and decided to go home.
So I did, went home and I was lying on the bed and around
10:30, between 10:30 and 11:00, start hearing the pops and the

(01:34:25):
booms. The window was open.
It was a beautiful day and I just thought it's lunchtime,
they're out there celebrating school's almost out.
Shortly after that I received a phone call from a Co worker said
Brad, did you know that there may have been shots fired at
Columbine? I said no I didn't hung up phone
rang again. It was misty same story.

(01:34:45):
So I got dressed and went out ofthe backyard looked over our 6
foot fence and by then the wholesoccer field in the at the high
school was was full of police and I thought man this is
serious. I went back inside.
I went to the couch and I knelt and I and I just pray to the
Lord. I asked him if if people got to

(01:35:05):
be injured. OK, but please don't let anyone
die. Don't let anyone die.
Well, we only get what we ask ifwe pray in accordance with the
Lord. And this obviously wasn't his
his plan. But when Cassie never came home

(01:35:25):
that night, we, we didn't lose our hope yet that she was smart,
she was resourceful. We thought she may have been
hiding. But ultimately, you know, that
happened on a Tuesday. And I believe it was early in
the morning on Thursday, we received official notice from
the corner that Cassie was one of the victims and had been
identified. And I can't tell you the, the,

(01:35:49):
the mental anguish and the physical pain that I could feel
in my chest, it was just joy. It was consuming me.
It was just more that I could could handle.
It felt like my heart was swelling and was going to burst.
And a couple days before we buried Cassie, I went out of the
backyard to feed our our rabbitsand, and it was, it just

(01:36:12):
overwhelmed me and I dropped my knees in the snow and I lifted
my hands. I said, Lord, you've got to take
this pain. You've got to take this pain out
and you've got to you've got to take the middle anguish and you
would you give me a little something back also.
And as soon as those words left my mouth, the pain in my chest
went away, The awful mental anguish went away and I was left

(01:36:34):
with the missing part in the in the questions.
Why? You know, it's still, it still
was hard, but the unbearable part of that agony was was gone.
And you know, I really believe that what happened at Columbine
on that day was truly a spiritual battle.

(01:36:57):
It was a it was a pinnacle. And Satan was trying to make his
stand. And God was going to going to
reply. And he did.
I talked with with the mother ofa young man who was in the
library that day and he was shotbadly and he's paralyzed from

(01:37:18):
the waist down. And his mother told me that that
as he lied there on the floor, having been shot once at least
once already, he said that he saw this huge Angel coming just
and stood in front of him. And Angel looked down and said

(01:37:40):
don't move, just play dead. Apparently one of the boys came
with the gun and stood right in line with he.
At that, Angel stopped, paused, moved on, and never, never
harmed his fellow again. And he's now undergoing more
surgeries and such and is and iscoming along well, although he's

(01:38:02):
still paralyzed. But I think I can, I can address
with some authority more so how it was really a spiritual battle
because I, I was able to see thevideotapes that Eric and Dylan
made before they committed theircrime.

(01:38:24):
And in that, in that tape, it was, it was very blatant, Joe.
They hated Christians, they hated God.
That's mostly what they talked about Holly, Ethan little
Christians. And one thing that they said
that really caught my ear was they said they were going to
shoot the Christians in the head.

(01:38:47):
And we know that is that's what they did with Cassie, and that's
what they did with a lot of other young people there that
day that were Christians. One of my concerns is that not
only was that covered up much bythe media as far as the fact
that they were out to get Christians, much of the media
ignored that. They said they were out to get
jocks and one jock said, hey, ifthey're out to get us, why

(01:39:09):
weren't they at the gym? We know that they killed Hot 8
high profile Christians on campus.
Another thing the media seems tohave covered rather greatly for
the most part was the fact that both Clay Bold and Harris were
into bands that KMFDM, Rammstein, Marilyn Manson
listening to music and we've covered that in our video.

(01:39:31):
They sold their souls for rock'n'roll, listening to music
that was strongly bred purporting death and Rammstein's
lyrics that they were into from the song White's flesh, as
you're familiar with the first line is you in the schoolyard.
I'm ready to kill. And boy did they.
In your own life, you had rescued Cassie from the same

(01:39:52):
culture of death as she was in the Marilyn Manson and and she
was mutilating her body. Explain to us how you rescued
her. Explain to us how you found out
the effect you saw in her life, and then how you.
I realized there was a line you could draw from her life and the
effect that was in her life, right to the very music and the
subculture of death that she wasinto.
Can you explain to us how you saw that and how you rescued her

(01:40:13):
from that? The signs are really quite
subtle. Hindsight is always 2020, but I
can remember looking back beforewe knew there was a problem on
her wrists. We could see where, you know, it
would cut and we'd ask, you know, what, what happened there,
Cassie? And we never got any good
explanations, but we what we found out was that she was

(01:40:34):
taking a little metal file and, and scratching until she bled.
And that's one of the signs thatI think parents can look for.
But when we really found out there was a problem was when
Misty went into Cassie's room looking for her teen Bible.

(01:40:57):
Misty had sensed A distancing that was growing between her
between those two and was seeking that Bible to try and
find some insights. Well, in, in going through
Cassie's room to find that Bibleshe came across the stack of, of
letters had been passed between her and her friend that, that
talked about how unhappy Cassie was and how she should be, how

(01:41:19):
she should murder her parents. And, and, and the, the letters
had ideas and diagrams of how this could be carried out and,
and people who could be recruited, who might be just
effed up enough to be able to dosomething like this.
That, that opened our eyes to a side of Cassie that we, we did

(01:41:41):
not know existed. And ultimately, we we conferred
with the our pastor and, and then had to go to the sheriff.
And the sheriff said of those letters that they were the worst
he had seen in his over 10 yearsin the juvenile division.
And if either of the girls had been in any prior trouble, they
would be before a judge. At that point, we realized that,

(01:42:05):
that we had a much bigger problem at our, on our hands
that we, we weren't aware of just the day before.
And in order to, to get Cassie out of trouble, the first step
we had to take was to separate Cassie from the group of people
that, that she called her friends, the peers that that she
wanted to fall in line with. And these were the guys that

(01:42:26):
were, they were experimenting with drugs, they were cutting
class, they're drinking alcohol,dabbling in witchcraft and
Satanism. Now, let me tell you, Cassie at
a very young age, I'm thinking was 6th grade, who got baptized
on her own accord. I taught her Sunday school class

(01:42:49):
for three or four years in a rowand the kids in my class
understood the plan of salvation.
They knew what it was about. And these kids on their own
decided they it was time for them to get baptized.
So Cassie understood she got baptized and and she was and she
wanted to be the person that theLord wanted her to be.
So you can you can see how strong the peer, the peer groups

(01:43:12):
can be to pull a kid that is focused like that off and get
them it started experimenting inthe in the wrong stuff.
And Cassie had experimented. Experimenting is probably too
light of a term because she had actually given her soul to
Satan. She had told me that's how deep

(01:43:32):
she was when when she was in trouble.
Well, separating her from those kids and also from other
influences that we thought were bad.
The CDs in particular, the musicthat she was listening to, we
had no idea the influence that that had on her.
The scratches I talked about where she would cut herself when

(01:43:57):
we would go through some of those CDs and see the innocuous
titles on the covers, then open them up, flip through the
jacket, read the real titles, read the lyrics.
We, we couldn't believe what we read.
Joe the, the lyrics were were condoning the drug use, the sex,
murder, self mutilation, all of this stuff that Cassie was into

(01:44:23):
right? It was incredible.
And of course, we had we took the CDs that were of that
flavor, placed a heavy scratch on them.
And in the can they went, OK. Now, we had a very, very unhappy
young lady at this point. And that's putting it lightly
because not only did we destroy a lot of her music, but we said

(01:44:44):
you couldn't hang out with thesekids anymore.
And it was the toughest step we ever took.
And we knew that by doing that, that we took a chance of driving
Cassie further away from us. But we were determined to do
what we felt was right. And and when when Marilyn Manson
says raise your kids or I'm going to raise them, it means

(01:45:04):
business because not only he butthe others have such a
tremendous influence on these kids.
And Cassie was a prime example of that.
She was going right down that road.
We had to stay with Cassie constantly.
Misty quit her job and we we tagged him.

(01:45:27):
We took turns being with her because she became suicidal.
When we told her that she was going to be separated from those
kids, we saw a side of Cassie that we'd never seen before.
She was just totally irate. She would scream at us and tell
us how much she hated us. It was, it was heartbreaking
because we loved Cassie very much and we were willing to do

(01:45:47):
anything for, including risking losing her.
Our hope and prayer is that parents would realize that their
children are listening to much of the same music and it may not
have the same effect. They might not even be cutting
the wrist, but if it keeps them from Jesus, that's enough to
damn their souls. And that's Satan's main
objective. He doesn't necessarily have to
get him to kill himself. He could just keep them from

(01:46:09):
worshipping Jesus. And and Satan being a musician
has given them the substitute ofhis wicked music.
And and I'm so glad you. You.
Raised that point. You know that we're told by
Barna Research Group that mothers spend on average 30
minutes with their children a day and and dad's on average 15

(01:46:30):
minutes. And that's heart wrenching in
our culture to see the sacrificethat you guys made.
I know that that Misty quit her job.
Can you explain just the sacrifices you realized you had
to make to rescue her, to spend more time with her, to be in her
life and to bring her up in Jesus, because I think that

(01:46:50):
should speak to all parents thatwe should be convicted that our
children grow up fast. We need to lay our lives down to
bring them up in Jesus. The sacrifice was great.
Not only did she have to quit her job, but we we had to tell
Chris, you know, we love you, but we're going to have to
concentrate on Cassie. We're going to have to spend
more time with her. She's in trouble.

(01:47:11):
And this is what it's going to take to get her out of trouble.
And he was very understanding ata very young age.
Like I said, we take that. We stayed with her all the time.
But Cassie had lost all trust, all freedom and all privileges,
and she couldn't. She couldn't contact those
friends. We went so far as to to tap our
own phone as a litmus test to find out when we could start

(01:47:34):
trusting her it. Was worth her salvation, wasn't
it? Yes, it was, but it was, it was
the hardest thing that we had ever, ever done.
She was very happy we had to. We would search her backpack.
We would go through her room, through her drawers, under her
bed, in between the mattresses. And you know, these were things

(01:47:54):
the sheriff told us that we needed to do.
They said a lot of people don't know this, but your children,
they have no right to privacy when they are children and they
are living in your house. You have every right in the
world to go in and do those kindof things, which is what we did.
And with that Clay Bull, that Harris's parents were heads up
to that and that we've stopped the whole Columbine situation.

(01:48:15):
That's true. It, it could have been
prevented, but I think a lot of parents, they, they see that our
kids are seemingly doing OK, butour kids are, they're very good
at living 2 lives, right? Cassie was, she had this whole
other life from us very well. You can't expect your children

(01:48:38):
to tell you the bad stuff they're doing.
Yeah, right. You have to figure it out
yourself. You have to step out of your
comfort zone and you've got to do these things.
You've got to do whatever you'vegot to do to know what is going
on in their life, who they're hanging out with, what kind of
music they're listening to and what is influencing their minds,
right? We're looking at peer pressure
dealing with that, dealing with the deaf culture that is just

(01:49:00):
wiping out 10s of thousands of kids every day.
We get calls from parents and wedeal with people who are losing
their children to mutilation or suicide attempts and things.
And they're so strong into the same music and, and it's so
important. To to deal with this of course
they need the word of God, but from what I understand you

(01:49:20):
switch cultures on her in a sense.
You. You.
You. You.
Try to separate her from the evil influences.
What kind of positive influences?
For instance, youth group or I understand she went on a
retreat. And she was involved in
worshipping God up there and under the stars.
Just thinking of, you know, magnifying his his his glory.

(01:49:44):
How much of an effect did wholesome biblical things have
in her life in. Not only taking away the evil,
but introducing her the things that are wholesome.
That God wanted in her life. What kind of?
Effect did that have on her and how did that work?
Well, it was a tremendous effectwith all the things that we had
did to to implement or to enforce the loss of privilege,
trust and freedoms that that required constant attention from

(01:50:10):
Misty and I to her. We also pulled her out of public
school and put her in private school, private Christian
School. And we had a very, very
difficult time for no less than 8 weeks.
At about that time, Cassie had met a young girl, Jamie, who was
a classmate and Jamie belonged to another church and, and told
Cassie there's a, there's a retreat there going on and and

(01:50:33):
then she she should go. And she wrote Misty and IA very
nice note asking if Cassie couldgo because at that time Cassie
still couldn't do anything otherthan school and church and youth
group. And we said, well, it's in Estes
Park. Not sure we're comfortable with
that. If she chose to run away, she'd
have two hour head start. I don't think we're ready for
that yet. Well, she wrote us another note

(01:50:53):
and said it would really be goodfor Cassie.
And we thought, OK, we prayed over this and we decided that we
had to had to take a step out infaith.
So we allowed Cassie to go. We dropped off at the church, I
think on a Friday night and we picked her up.
I believe it was on a probably aSaturday evening, possibly
sunny, I don't remember for sure.
So what I do remember Joe was was when Cassie left we had a

(01:51:15):
still a very troubled young ladywho was not happy.
And when she came back I saw hercome out of a little car.
There was 2 school buses in a car.
And as Cassie walked toward me Inoticed something was different
right away. Her head was up and I could see
there was a smile on her face and there was a spring in her
step. And as she got closer it seemed

(01:51:37):
to be a sparkle in her eye. And she came before us and she
said she dressed Misty. She said, mom, I've changed.
I know you don't believe me, butI'm going to prove it to you.
And from that day forward, she became compliant to Misty and
mine's authority when when she has to do things.
And we said, no, I don't think it's a good idea.
I'm sorry. You can't.

(01:51:57):
She'd just say, OK. And then she'd turn around and
go her way. Well, at that time, she got she
she dug into the youth group at church.
She started taking it seriously and I asked her, Cassie, what
happened? What, what changed you because
you changed over a weekend. And she says, well, we were in
Estes Park that night. We went out in a car.

(01:52:20):
There was four of us, Jamie and I, and two boys.
And we stopped out in the forestand we got out and we were just
looking at the stars and just marbling over this wonderful
universe that God had made for us.
They laid their hands on me and they just started, They started
praying on me. And she said, Dad, I just felt
this like physical weight being lifted off my shoulders, my God

(01:52:40):
and presence of the enemy. When that happened, you know, my
eyes were open and I saw where Iwas headed, why you and mom were
doing what you were doing, and where I needed to go.
We had some good conversations about God and life, and we
parked and got out of the car. We all just stood there for a
minute, just just in the moment,looking up at the stars and the

(01:53:02):
mountains and the trees. It was clear we're all just
overcome by a huge sense of awe and wonder what an incredible
godless is and how he's created a beautiful life for us to live.
And if he can make the mountains, he can make our lives
into something that was really beautiful.
It was powerful. She just broke down and we cried

(01:53:23):
together and prayed together. And it was like after that
moment, just her whole countenance changed, like her
face just glowed with, with hope, with joy and peace.
And it was. It was incredible.
That physical weight that she felt leave her, that was the
bondage that Satan had on her. When she had given her soul to

(01:53:47):
him, she was released. And from that day forward, she
was focused on being as Christ like as she could.
She went to church all the time.She got involved in all the
youth group activities. Now, I don't want to mislead you
or anybody else. And that that all of a sudden
things were rosy and life was easy for Cassie.
It wasn't it was a tough, it wasa tough walk for Cassie.

(01:54:09):
Being a Christian is not easy and but it can be rewarding.
Brad Prayer must have been an integral part of this process of
rescuing Cassie because we know it's only ultimately by the
Lord's power. Job talked about how he's a
blameless man in his generation that says, and he says that he
sought the Lord every day on behalf of his.

(01:54:30):
Children in their hearts and andwe know it's not simply the
outward person, it's the heart we need to really it's a hard
situation and Jesus constantly dealt with the heart when he
dealt with. Religious hypocrites who didn't
really, truly seek God from their hearts.
We're going through the motions and he prayed that their hearts

(01:54:51):
would not curse God. Did you and Misty pray through
this time? I mean it seems like you had to
been praying. I mean, it's you prayed through
it through the Columbine situation speak to us so we
might understand the importance of prayer and the role it played
in rescuing your daughter from the clutches of Satan that other
parents and people would be desirous of getting a involved

(01:55:14):
in be prayer wares for their children.
Misty and I really depended heavily on, on prayer.
We, we felt that we were doing and being the kind of parents
that the Lord would want us to do and, and we were dealing with
the situation the way he would want us to.
So it was integral for us, but it was also integral for
Cassie's development as a, as a,as a new Christian, because you

(01:55:37):
don't pick up a Bible and you don't get involved in Bible
studies without having the Holy Spirit, you know that as an
interpreter for you to touch youand to feed you with wisdom and
understanding. And Cassie knew that.
And I know that she prayed herself.
But but even more importantly, going back after we lost Cassie

(01:56:00):
and going through her room and finding, you know, the notes
addressed to her from other girls in the youth group, they
were praying for one another. They were supporting one
another, encouraging one another.
It's not a walk you do by yourself.
And it's not easy. And I don't want to draw a
picture that says that life was rosy for Cassie because she
still, she still struggled. She was just an average kid.

(01:56:22):
She was like anybody else you would meet who was just trying
to be a Christian. She had doubts.
I know that she didn't know. In one of her notes she wrote
what does God have for me to do and his plan?
And she felt like God wasn't talking to her.
But she still persevered and shekept her nose in the word and
was just trying to walk the walk.

(01:56:43):
How was she to know that with one word she was going to touch
the whole world and set an example for so many people that
you just, you have to believe in, you have to keep.
I'm trying because you don't. We don't always know how God is
going to use us in His plan. Cassie is one of the strongest
Christians I've I've ever known,and the fact that she did that

(01:57:07):
was completely not surprising atall.
I knew that she was so willing to die for Christ because that
was her, her love and her life. She really was learning to
surrender at all. You know, it wasn't that Cassie
didn't have so many issues that she was dealing with recently,
but she truly recently was talking just about how she was
learning to surrender stuff. She had, she had dreams of

(01:57:28):
college, college abroad, but shewas saying, you know, I have to,
I have to yield to God. It's changed the way you think
about things and softens your heart.
She always made you feel so goodand just made you proud to be
one of her friends. She lived her life each and
every day for him. She was so strong.
She was quiet, but her strength just.
She had so much strength and sheloved God so much.

(01:57:50):
Seemed like she had a glow abouther.
You could tell that there was something special on her and you
could tell that she was sincere and she knew what she's talking
about. And I think because of her,
she's made me stronger. She always, you know, kept
strong in what she believed. And I just, I'm thankful that,
you know, because I know she's in a good place right now.
And I just, I just thank God, you know, that she went out that

(01:58:13):
way that she went out a martyr and she, she went out and dying
in for what she believed. One of our number one prayers
each morning should be God's will through US today.
And I honestly believe that thatwas Cassie's prayer that morning
and that she was praying that she could be an instrument of
God's peace. And she's done that in my life.
I always wanted to be like her and, you know, look to Christ

(01:58:35):
every morning and just want to live for him like she did.
The fact that she died for everything she ever believed in,
it's just amazing and I will never forget what she's done.
She was saying that you can't defeat me.
You can't really kill me. You can take my body away, but
you can't kill me. I'm going to live in heaven

(01:58:57):
forever. I think she by definition is a
martyr, because a martyr is someone that dies professing
their faith and that is killed for their faith.
And that's exactly what happenedto Cassie.
Is it true that I that? In her experience that it
somehow the Lord did speak to her in a powerful way.

(01:59:18):
He it seems as though she had a knowing or understanding that
she wouldn't be around too much longer, but she didn't
understand the ramifications of that.
She always used to tell me that she will never be married.
She'll never have kids. I said, oh, yeah, Cassie, you
will. You will.
You'll have kids, and I'll be a grandpa and you'll be letting
your kids stay with me here. Is that going to be OK?
You know what I'm like? She says, Oh yeah, Dad, I'd let

(01:59:39):
my kids stay with you, but I'm not going to get married and I'm
not going to have kids. They were looking forward to
being in heaven with the Lord. And at that time I sat down next
to Cassie and I said, but Cassie, I wouldn't be able to
live without you. She looked at me and she smiled

(01:59:59):
and she said that mom, you know I'd be in a better place.
Wouldn't you be happy for me? Brad so much about Cassie.
Saying yes, you spoke about how that one word was a witness to
so many people. What are ways that she, if you
could speak not only to parents and hopefully parents are

(02:00:21):
hearing this and realizing that our children need to be rescued.
Speaking to parents and to youngpeople, how is it that she said
yes? Over and over again before she
said yes in the end. How is it that she said yes to
Jesus and notice Satan bringing us up to that last moment in her
life? Well, I think when you have your

(02:00:43):
eyes on the on the goal of eternity in heaven versus
eternity in the lake of burning fire, right?
I think that motivates a lot of people.
But but mostly I think Cassie just wanted to be a good person.
She wanted to be an encouragement to others, but I

(02:01:03):
think it's important for parentsand even young people to know
what they're up against. It's not like I said, it's not
easy to be a Christian. We have the music industry is is
a huge factor in pulling kids away from Christianity and and
pulling them towards that lake of fire.
I know that in the Columbine situation at 1.1 of the

(02:01:28):
investigators had said to the media and it was publicized in
all the newspapers that, that God had nothing to do with this.
You know, after, after the, the,the report of Cassie standing up
for her faith, when when the gunman held the shotgun to her
head and asked her if she believed in God, she said yes.
He asked her why. And at that point he pulled the

(02:01:49):
trigger and entered her life. People need to know that the
media does they, they reported that but but they don't really
want people to go to Christ. The the report was that God had
nothing to do with this. Well, I saw the videos that the
boys made and and they hated theChristians.

(02:02:11):
And I know that the investigators saw that and how
they could say this has nothing to do with God and then how that
propagated to the masses is a horrible lie.
Yeah, because what what we saw, what I saw out of Columbine, I
can assure you was very spiritual and was very God
based. It was all about God and

(02:02:33):
Christians. And here the media is being
misled and and told it has nothing to do with God.
Right. And it's, it's, we need to be so
aware of it because so many Christians depend upon the media
for information and we're supposed to be aware of false
prophets and false teachers. And sometimes we think the news
media is safe and we can get some truth from news media, but

(02:02:55):
it's mixed in with a lot of distortion.
And we best go to God's word. Best go to the Scripture.
Can you please in, in closing this because there's so much in
your heart. And I want you to be able to
spend time with your wife and, and your your son tonight.
Can you close this by encouraging parents?
If you could only speak a couplemore minutes to parents and you

(02:03:17):
wanted to share what's on your heart, what to do if their child
is at risk, Their child's involved in this music showing
some of these signs kind of summing up in a few sentences.
You talked about putting your arm around Cassie and trying to
love her. It's just showing that love and
and in the concrete things, almost like an ABC thing.
And I know it's never that way. It's different with each child,

(02:03:39):
but there's some basic principles.
Could you share some of those inwrapping this up?
We have to make sure that our kids know that we do love them.
And when we do things like destroy their CDs and tell them
we won't have any more of this in our house.
And we go through their rooms and, and we, we hold them
responsible for things that are,that are corrosive to the morals

(02:04:01):
and to the well-being and to their, their eternal
destination. We have to also tell them why
we're doing these things. We don't just do them right.
You know, our job as a parent isto educate our children as well
as well as to care for them during the short time that we
have them. We're to bring them up and train
them in the ways of the Lord is what Our Calling is.

(02:04:22):
And that's what we've got to do.It's a training process and most
importantly, we have to make sure that we know, and then our
children know that you've got tobe ready to go, to leave this
earth at any moment, and you cannot afford to wait because

(02:04:42):
tomorrow could be your time. That's right, Cassie was ready.
We know that without a doubt. And I'm confident that when you
know, when my time comes and I'll be, I'll see her again.
I'll see lots of people in heaven that I'm going to
recognize and it's going to be real, real sad for the folks
that that have to, you know, go the other way and have to, to

(02:05:06):
suffer. Right, Brad, you'd probably
agree then that it's imperative that parents not only has
authorities that are responsibleand accountable to God who give
an account for the way they raise their children.
You would agree that parents also need to live in an an
example, not telling their child, hey, I want you out of
that music and then listening tothe same type of music, but

(02:05:29):
setting the example. And I just praise God that
you've been an example to the Christian Church, the Christian
community, that God's used Columbine in many ways to
witness to others on on being aware of youth culture and the
culture of death and and rescuing.
And I want to thank you so much for your witness to the

(02:05:51):
Christian community. So much for.

Just two days before Cassie was murdered for saying yes to
Jesus, she gave the following testimony stating that she
wanted to be a light to. The world, and she was.

I think that the way I'm advancing the Kingdom is just
being a loyal friend and a good example to non believers and
also Christians. I'm just trying to not
contradict myself and get rid ofall hypocrisy and just to live

(02:06:33):
for Christ. Cassie gave me a letter.
Just a few hours before Cassie was actually gunned down, she
handed a note to a friend stating the following quote.
Honestly, I want to give completely for God.
It's hard and scary, but. Totally worth it.
He won't. Let you go the moment that you
say she's coming living and takeme all the way.

Because what he said is true, that he will never leave you, is
forever by yourself, and no loveis true.

(02:07:30):
As I turned to kiss her face goodbye, she smiled and said, I
love you Daddy, I'll be home by 5:00.
As she raced away, I weighed. Brushed your teeth from.

(02:07:51):
My eyes in that moment. In that moment my mind relieved.
The times when she was young andstanding at her door here.

(02:08:17):
Every lullaby she sung. And suddenly I realized that her
life had just begun. In that moment, in that moment,
in that moment, I knew what lovewas all about.

(02:08:43):
That moment, my heart is too steep.
And this moment, before I let you go, one last thing.
Your daddy loves your soul. Things can change so quickly,

like a flower she was gone, yet time it takes so slowly and I've
left it to be strong. She was chosen for his purpose
as you did. It will not run her life a

testimony as she lay there and die as a host of heaven welcomes
you home and saying well done mychildhood.

loves you so. In contrast to the suffering of

Jesus Christ declared that the righteous will go into eternal
life. Jesus promises followers before
his ascension. Quote In my Father's house there
are many dwelling places. If we're not so, I would have
told you, for I go to prepare a place for you.
And if I go to prepare a place for you, I will come again and
receive you to myself, that where I am, you may be.

Also in the Book of Revelation, Jesus described the place he's
preparing in terms of this incredibly huge city coming out
of heaven to the earth. He said it'd be like a huge
transparent diamond glistening with the light of God.
He described this eternal city called New Jerusalem in terms of
a bride decked with jewels, prepared to meet her husband.
It is described as a place of incredible joy where God himself

dwells with his people forever. Revelation chapter 21 verses one
through 5 states. And I saw a new heaven and a new
earth, for the 1st heaven and the first earth passed away, and
there's no longer any sea. And I saw the holy city, New
Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, made ready as a
bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from
the throne, saying, Behold, the Tabernacle of God is among men,

and he shall dwell among them, and they shall be his people,
and God himself will be among them, and he shall wipe away
every tear from their eyes, and there shall no longer be any
death. There shall no longer be any
mourning or crying or pain. The first things have passed
away. And he who sits on the throne
said, Behold, I am making all things new.
And he said right. For these words are faithful and

true. Revelation chapter 22 verses one
through 5 states. And He showed me a river of the
water of life, clear as crystal,coming from the throne of God

Atkins and Tex Watson have turned to Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ said he came to seek and save that which was
lost. Satan as Jesus revealed as the
father of lies. Susan Atkins found it almost

you, he does not reward you, buthe discards you with so much

sin away until my body became sore and raw.

I was convicted of eight counts of murder and I could not get

it as clean as I can make the inside through the cleansing

I fell on my knees and I cried out to God on September 27th,
1974. If God can save me, God can save

the sentiments of the Apostle Paul, who made a living at

Old things have passed away and all things have become new.
In fact, your new creation with a new destiny, a new future, a
new heaven and new earth, and you have a new family and you
have all kinds of things new. And one of the things you have
that's new is since you have a new family, a new home, a new
destiny, a new Lord, a new master, there's no longer a

(02:16:25):
reason to sing the Blues. There's no longer to be sad and
bummed out and sing about death and destruction and promiscuity
and evil. Now the Bible says he not only
gives you a new name and a New Hope and and you have a new
earth. The Bible says that he gives you
a new song. He gives you a new song to
replace that. Old songs to replace the Blues,
to replace the pain, the anguish, a new song, a lively

(02:16:48):
hope in the Lord Jesus Christ and a song filled with joy.
A song filled with happiness, a song filled with rejoicing and
Thanksgiving. In fact, the psalmist wrote
about this new song, and the Bible uses the term new song
over and over again. And he said, I waited patiently
for the Lord, and he climbed to me and heard my cry.
He brought me up out of the pit of destruction, out of the miry

(02:17:09):
clay, and He set my feet upon a rock, making my footsteps firm.
You see, if you waited on the Lord and you prayed and you
cried out to Him, He pulls you out of the pit of destruction.
In the Hebrew, that word destruction, the Hebrew word
actually means noise. He pulled him out, up out of the
pit of noise and put his feet onthe rock.
You're probably trapped if you've just come to know Jesus

(02:17:30):
and all the noise of the world, all the music of the world,
which is really noise. It's translated pit of
destruction because this pit of destruction was filled with
noise, but it's really a pit of destruction.
These were pits that they would dig that that wild animals they
would trap in them wolves and, and lions and, and what have
you. They'd also throw criminals in
these pits as well. At times.
They're called pits of noise because they get pretty, pretty

(02:17:51):
ugly sounding. And David here says that he was
delivered by the Lord out of this pit of noise.
The Lord wants to deliver you out of the pit of noise, out of
the pit of rock music and ultimately out of the pit of
hell. So if you turn to Jesus Christ,
he's pulled you up out of that pit.
He's put your feet on the rock. The rock is Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ said that there wasa foolish man who built his

(02:18:13):
house in the sand that was his foundation.
And there was a wise man who built his foundation on a rock.
And they said when the storms came and they beat across that
house and against that house andpounded it, that the house is
built in the sand, fell down. He said great was its fall.
But he said the house that was built on the rock, that house
stood, and when the storm passed, it was still standing.

(02:18:33):
He went on to say he said that he is the rock.
He said that if you build your life on my words, you're
building your life on the rock. If you build your life on the
Word of God, when the storms of life come and when Satan comes
to test you and pull you away, if you're built on the rock,
you're not going to move. In fact, it's interesting.
He goes on to say that he not only brought him up out of the
pit of destruction, but put him on the rock.

(02:18:54):
He says this, and this is so critical, so important for us
all to understand. It's the new song.
He says He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our
God. Many will see in fear and will
trust in the Lord. He put a new song in my life.
I was giving glory to Satan. I was giving glory to the enemy.
I was worshipping the gods of rock'n'roll.

(02:19:15):
And he saved me out of that lifestyle.
He turned my life around. He gave me a a New Hope and he
gave me a new song. And now instead of playing
electric guitar and playing all types of, of weird riffs and,
and, and, and, you know, hard riffs and, and, and, and trying
to pump myself up with adrenaline and, and playing all
that kind of stuff, he gave me anew song.

(02:19:35):
Now I play praise and worship songs to my Lord.
I worship him with my voice. I cry out to him.
And I'll tell you what, I was always depressed when I was in
that other music. Because Satan's a big RIP off,
huh? But now that I can praise God
and worship Him and do what I was designed to do is to know my
Lord as my best friend and commune with Him and have an
eternal destiny with Him. Now I have a song of praise.

(02:19:57):
I have a song of joy. He can do the same thing for
you. You see, I was like Paul.
I felt I was the chief of sinners.
He saved me and changed my life.And guess what?
I have a lot of reasons not to praise God.
I can praise Him over and over again because He did such a
radical work in my life. He does such a radical work in
my family's life and my wife andmy children.
I just praise God for all of that.
And he goes on to say that he put a new song of in my mouth, a

(02:20:18):
song of praise. And he goes on to say how
blessed is the man who has made the Lord his trust and has not
turned to the proud nor to thosewho lapse in the falsehood.
He doesn't want you to turn to the music of those who are proud
and arrogant and sing about falsehood and lies.
He wants you to turn from that to a new song.
He wants to put this new song inyour mouth.
If you've turned to Jesus Christ, it's time to sing a new

(02:20:40):
song. If you really have turned to
Jesus Christ, you'll want to sing the new song.
You don't want to support the wicked.
You don't want to support the wicked.
In fact, the Scriptures say in Second Chronicles 19 two it says
should you help the wicked and love those who hate the Lord and
so bring wrath on yourself from the Lord.
You don't want to support the wicked and those and love those

(02:21:01):
who hate the Lord because you bring wrath upon yourself.
You want to turn from the music of the world.
You see, Jesus said he that's not with me is against me.
These people are against Jesus. You don't want to be with them.
Bible says bad company corrupts good morals.
You don't want to support those who hate the Lord.
So you want to get rid of your old music.
You want to get rid of your old CDs that glorify Satan and don't
glorify Jesus Christ. In fact, you want to follow the

(02:21:23):
example that the Lord said in Acts chapter 19, verse 19 with
the Church of Ephesus. You see, they were in all these
magic books back then. They're Harry Potter type books,
you see. And in Acts 1919, it says this.
And many of those, those who practice magic, brought their
books together and began burningthem in the sight of everyone.
You say, wow, they burned all their magic books.

(02:21:44):
But Joe, you don't realize how much my albums cost, how much my
CD's cost. You know I can't just burn them.
I know I got to get rid of them because I don't want to follow
Satan anymore, but maybe I'll sell them.
No, don't sell them, get rid of them.
I'm not saying you have to burn them.
Maybe a hammer would be good. The trash.
Make sure you don't sell them because you're selling poison or
you're giving poison away. You don't want to do that.
You see, it goes on to say it was very costly for them to do

(02:22:05):
what they did. It says this.
And many of those who practice magic brought their books
together and began burning them in the sight of everyone.
And they counted up the price ofthem and found it to be 50,000
pieces of silver. That's a lot of money, folks.
And these people made that sacrifice because you know what?
It really wasn't much of A sacrifice.
They were actually getting rid of poison.
They were actually getting rid of poison.

(02:22:26):
And what did they have instead? They had the Lord Jesus Christ.
You see a youth pastor, one of several youth pastors that used
this presentation, showed it to his youth group and we got a
call and found out what happenedwith him.
He showed it to his youth group and they got rid of a lot of
their music and he got rid of his music, except he kept a few
albums back and said, you know what, I want to get rid of this,

(02:22:47):
but he didn't want to get rid ofall of it.
And he kept held on to a little bit of the world.
You see, he went to bed. He had a radical dream.
He didn't know what it was about.
He was terrified. He told his wife about it and
she told him, you know what? This is what God might be
speaking to you through that dream.
When he was dreaming, he was going down A2 Lane Highway and
he had his hand out the window. And as he was cruising down the
highway, another vehicle went bythat was going the opposite way.

(02:23:10):
And boom, something landed in his hand.
And he pulled his hand into his truck and there he saw an arm,
decapitated arm of a corpse. And he sprung up in bed and woke
up and freaked out. He told his wife about it,
terrified him. And his wife said, you know what
I think's happening, honey, God's really been speaking to us
about our music. And you got rid of your music
like the Lord wants you to, but you kept on some of it and

(02:23:32):
you're going one way and the enemy's going the other way, and
you've taken part of the enemy'sbaggage with you and he wants to
get a stronghold in your life. And she goes, I believe that
that's what God's saying to you.He went to his, his closet, got
rid of the rest of the music, was set free from that bondage.
God wants you to be set free from that bondage as well.
In fact, the Lord actually commands us.

(02:23:53):
He commands us as Christians to be involved in Christian music
that glorifies Jesus Christ. In fact, instead of letting
Satan's word in the words of theworld permeate our hearts and
mind. He says this he commands us in
Colossians 316. Let the word of Christ richly
dwell within you with all wisdom.
How do you let it richly dwell within you with all wisdom?

(02:24:13):
Teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns
and spiritual songs. We're supposed to communicate
and love one another singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual
songs. And he says, he goes on to say,
singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God, whatever you
do in Word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus,
giving thanks through him to Godthe Father.

(02:24:35):
Whatever you do in Word or deed,your music should be, you should
make sure it glorifies God and it glorifies Jesus Christ.
You see, the word of God tells us that not only when we praise
God with music does it glorify Him.
And his word fills our hearts, but His Holy Spirit fills our
hearts instead of the evil spirits that are all around that
are are influencing people for evil, God's loving spirit fills

(02:24:57):
us. In fact, Ephesians chapter 5
says be not drunk with wine, butbe filled with the Holy Spirit.
And then he tells you how the very next verse says this,
singing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs as you praise
God with his word and you sing praises to him.
You're filled with His word. You're filled with truth instead
of lies. You're also filled with the
Spirit. You see in the Old Testament,

(02:25:19):
when they were praising God, when they had dedicated the
temple as they were worshipping Him, the Chicana glory, like a
cloud filled the temple. So powerful was it that they all
had to fall on their faces because they couldn't contain
themselves because of the thickness of God's Chicana or of
God's glory. You see, that was in the Old
Testament, the first part of theBible.
In the New Testament, we are thetemple of God.

(02:25:40):
And now when we praise God and we worship Him, guess what
happens as we sing praises? The Chicano of glory of God that
filled that temple now fills ourtemples, or we are now the
temple Holy Spirit. He now fills us.
It's an incredible experience toworship God and be filled with
his love and his, the fruit of the Spirit, which is peace and
love and joy and long-suffering and gentleness and goodness.

(02:26:02):
All you have to do now is seek out music that worships God.
Find a good fellowship where they worship Jesus.
The Bible says not to forsake the assembly of yourselves
together. Find a fellowship where they
preach the word of God and stickto the word of God.
Get in the word of God so you know that they're following the
word of God and walk in a holy life.
Live a righteous life, live a holy life.

(02:26:24):
You see, you can't live a holy life.
You can't be forgiven without Jesus.
You can't live a holy life without Jesus because Paul said,
he said, who will deliver me from this body of flesh, this
body of flesh? This, that part of him that was
that, that was tempted and, and,and, and he had to contain.
And he said that deliverance only came through Jesus Christ,

(02:26:46):
that deliverance only can't can come to you through Jesus
Christ. That body of death from the days
that Paul was Speaking of spoke of a man who was a criminal and
he committed a horrifying act and his victim was tied to him.
And as that victim turned gangrene, that person that was
tied to him, the criminal would eventually die.
How do we get deliverance from that fleshly part of us by
turning to Jesus? Paul said we're not debtors to

(02:27:07):
the flesh to live after the flesh, But if you through the
Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, crucify them, you
shall live. We need to turn to Jesus and
follow Jesus. It's not enough to say what
would Jesus do and follow his example.
We definitely need to do that, but we have to have Jesus Christ
living in us. As Paul said, it's no longer I
that live, but it's Christ that lives in me and through me, the
life that I now live in the body.

(02:27:28):
He says he did it by the power of Jesus.
You need Jesus power now to carry on in to the future, not
just imitation but imputation. You see, now we need to build
our lives on the rock of Jesus Christ and just live for Him.
I want to encourage you to draw on Jesus Christ's power.
Now, you see, many people are golfing right now because of

(02:27:49):
Tiger Woods and what he had donea while back and how incredible
he was playing. And they're trying to imitate
him, but they're ending up hitting the trees with their
balls and getting in the sand traps and so forth, saying I
can't do it. We can imitate Christ and we can
get better by trying to follow Him that way.
We have to also live by His power.
You see, if Tiger Woods was ableto unzip one of their backs and
hop in their body and play golf for them, they could do much
better. And that's what Jesus wants to

(02:28:11):
do with us. He doesn't only want us to
follow His word and His example,He wants us to draw upon His
strength. He wants to live in US and live
the Christian life through us. As we say, Father, you fill me
with your Spirit. You take control and I want to
encourage you. You'll be discouraged if you
don't pray and seek Him and drawupon His power.
Now in your walk to really cry after God, really read His word,
really follow Him, and really pray to be filled and do what's

(02:28:33):
right. You see, the Bible says that
apart from Christ we can do nothing.
But it goes on to say that through Christ we can do all
things. Don't be afraid of Satan.
We have power over the evil. 1 You see his days are numbered.
You see, we're just passing through this life.
The Bible says be absent from the bodies, be present with the
Lord. Greater is he that's in US and
he that's in the world. The scriptures say that if God
is for us, who can be against us?

(02:28:55):
Don't fear man, Jesus said who could kill the body, but fear
God who could destroy the body and soul in hell.
You know, a friend of mine, a good friend of mine that goes to
the fellowship where I passed, Her name is Sunny Sano.
He made me this coconut because I gave an illustration one time
regarding a coconut. And I've actually used it more
than once because I think it's very powerful.

(02:29:16):
And I talked about how in the Philippines they catch monkeys.
And him being Filipino, he made a coconut following the design
that his dad had told him, who actually lived on an island
where they caught monkeys this way.
And what's interesting about this coconut, as you see it's
got the little hole in it and how they would catch the
monkeys, they'd tie this rope, arope at the bottom of the tree

(02:29:38):
and then stick a little bit of fruit in that coconut there,
stick it in there, and then they'd kick back and wait.
In the distance, a monkey would come down from the tree.
Sure enough, it would grab the fruit.
It would stick it's little hand in that whole coconut.
They'd grab the fruit thinking it scored.
Then it would try to pull the fruit out, but of course it
couldn't because it's hand was closed.
Just then. The hunters would come with

(02:30:00):
clubs or Nets, and the monkey would be screaming as they
approached to just, you know, beat this monkey's head and then
kill it. It would start screaming.
Now, it could get away if it would just let go of what was in
the coconut. But if it refused, and they
usually did, if it refused and held on to that, they would get
there and they'd throw the net over it or they'd pound its head
and then kill it. And that's what you have to

(02:30:23):
watch out for. You see, Satan has a coconut and
he's stuck sex, drugs and rock'n'roll in that coconut.
Things that you can never get out to really satisfy your
heart, that never really make you happy anyway.
Rebellion and sin. And guess what?
He's coming after you. He wants you and he's hoping you
won't let it go. You can never get it out and

(02:30:44):
satisfy yourself. But if you don't let it go, you
can't be set free. And he wants to pound the
daylights out of you. And obviously the lesson from
this illustration is don't let Satan make a monkey out of you.
Give all that stuff up. Give the old music up, turn to
Jesus Christ and sing a new song, and go into eternal life
with the Lord and with His family.

(02:31:05):
