From the Pacific

Good evening, good morning,good afternoon.
Wherever you are on God's greenearth, I am your host, mario
Magana.
Happy Independence Day weekend.
Wow, can you believe we made italready?
We're halfway through the yearalready of 2025.
It's hard to believe that we'realready that fast.
(00:42):
I mean, I feel like the olderyou get, the faster it seems to
go.
But I hope you're enjoying thistime with your friends and
family.
If you're out, maybe you did abarbecue yesterday for the 4th
of July, or for the 4th of Julyyou did barbecues.
Maybe you were with friends andfamily blowing off some
fireworks.
Or maybe you're out campingdoing some s'mores.
(01:04):
If you're out camping doingsome s'mores, if you're
listening to us on one of ourradio affiliates, enjoying uh
some, uh some transistor radioand listening to uh the radio
show this evening tonight we'regoing to get in to what I like
to call the independence day,the Independence Day haunted
story.
So gather around.
(01:24):
If maybe you're out doing acampfire and doing s'mores One
of my favorite go-to campingitems when I'm camping and I'm
not sure if you're like this, but man, I really get into it
Got the s'mores.
I got the hat.
I mean I just love to cook foreveryone that's camping.
You know, if it's in themorning, get up early, make the
(01:45):
coffee and typically just a nice, just a nice cup of black
coffee in the morning and thenat night have a, a nice cold
drink, a refreshing beverage, ohman, and just smell like
campfire, and just really enjoyyour time with your friends and
family.
I mean, there's so much goingon this weekend.
If you're in the, the pacificnorthwest, you know different
(02:08):
firework shows that havehappened over the weekend from
uh you know, seafair um, thathad happened.
Also.
There's a bunch of parades thathave been going on over the
weekend.
So maybe you're in west seattle, you're doing the the parade.
Or in kirkland, issaquah thosecommunities, uh, have been doing
stuff.
Maybe you're doing the theparade, or in kirkland, issaquah
those communities, uh, havebeen doing stuff.
Maybe you're just barbecuingand doing picnics this weekend
(02:29):
in your backyard grilling somedogs.
I mean, isn't this the time ofyear where I think we all
becoming novice fan of the hotdog eating contest by Nathan's
and man, I'll tell you I just, Imean, I'm always fully
(02:52):
disgusted by it, but I'm sointrigued by it I'm sure most of
you are as well.
I mean tons of stuff.
I mean there's been American.
There've been pub crawls, things that are going on in
Pioneer Square Pioneer SquareFest, if you're hanging out.
Congratulations to all thosewho are part of the Seattle
(03:12):
Center naturalization ceremonyas well.
So congratulations to you.
That includes my dad, whocelebrates his anniversary as
well.
Tons of concerts that have beengoing on.
Seattle Mariners are stillplaying this weekend.
Uh, tons of stuff going on.
Uh, tons of friends and familystuff too.
If you're looking to get intosome of that, you know, the
(03:32):
farmers markets, things of thatnature.
If you're staying local andjust doing, maybe, a quick
staycation at home with you know, your loved ones, um, yeah,
it's quite, quite interesting, haven't had a chance to uh do
any camping this year.
We're um heading out of town uhfor, ah, yeah, we're heading
(03:53):
out of town for uh to go uhcheck out some colleges for
Sophia.
So we're going to do that thiscoming up week.
But man, it's just, this summerhas flown by and I just, it
just blows my mind, and just tostart thinking that we have to
start getting ready for Sophiato go to college, it's.
I'm sure there are tons ofparents out there that are like,
oh yeah, me too.
So if you can you relate, yeah, please let me know.
(04:17):

(04:37):
I have all the gear and happyto help out.
Uh, 775-990-5151 if you'relooking for a dj, or you can
send me an email.
Mario at on air mariocom.
So earlier we were talking abouthaunted things and before we
get into that we were going tohave, uh, mark jacobson.
We couldn't make the the timingcorrect, but we'll get back to
(04:58):
it.
Um, I wanted to touch base witheverything that's been going on
, um and not so much on thepolitical spectrum, and we'll
get back into what we talkedabout previously last week with
the diddy trial and how michaelparker and I um, totally didn't
see that one coming.
So if you've been following thediddy trial, two of the charges
the racketeering uh, were, uh,not guilty, but to conspire he
(05:24):
also did have a guilty charge.
Two guilty charges in regardsto his case and when you look at
it, he was not guilty on countone racketeering and conspiring.
Count two sex trafficking byforce, fraud or collusion not
guilty.
Count three transportation toengage in prostitution guilty.
(05:49):
Count two sex trafficking toforce, fraud or collusion not
guilty.
And then count fivetransportation to engage in
prostitution guilty.
So not guilty and then guilty.
So, from what I hear, we'll getinto this with either a legal
(06:10):
expert after the holidays, um,very interesting in that case.
And it really goes back to, uh,you know, back to some, you
know things that I'm not thatpervy to.
In regards to how you know, things may have been portrayed,
so we'll get into that with alegal expert, uh, in a future
(06:31):
show.
But if you do have a show idea, send me.
Send me an idea.
Or if you would like us tobroadcast or do the radio show
from your establishment, you can, we can do that.
How fun would that be.
We've done it before.
Uh, out in a brewery in buckley, sold it out, uh, standing room
only, and it was fantastic.
(06:53):
It was very much a q asituation.
We did the show there.
People were able to buy stuffand just hang out and uh be able
to do a show and be able to bewith others that do enjoy the
Sasquatch or the haunted stories.
So if you think we should besomewhere, let me know.
Send me an email or text.
(07:13):
We'd love to come out to yourestablishment.
So yeah, and we need to getdown to our other affiliates
KOSW, kapy and obviously aroundKVI as well.
So yeah, so happy holidays.
Happy Independence Day weekend,man.
This is the time where you getthe dogs out, the burgers, the
(07:37):
baked beans, the potato saladbut I love my potato salad.
The potatoes can be likemarinated in the pickle juice
kind of my thing.
So, um, yeah, let us know ifyou have a story or um how we
might be able to assist you inregards to some of that.
Now we know that there arehaunted places around the
(07:58):
pacific northwest and, um, it'sinteresting when we talk about
this.
I didn't know about this, butthere's a haunted rooftop story
that happens every 4th of Julyin Seattle during the fireworks
show in downtown Seattle.
A guest reportedly saw anelderly woman watching the crowd
(08:19):
from a shadowy corner.
When approached she vanished.
Later the host discovered thebuilding once housed a widow who
died alone on Independence Dayin the 40s.
Her spirit is said to excuse me, return each year to watch the
(08:43):
celebration.
That's nice that she returnsand doesn't haunt, but she's
there to enjoy the fireworksshow and we know that some
places in Seattle are very, very, very haunted.
So thank you for sharing thatstory with us, because when you
(09:03):
think about it, you know thewhole Pike Place market has tons
of paranormal activity.
Kells Irish Bar very hauntedbecause of the Butterworth
Mortuary there Just, and thenabove the mortuary on First
(09:24):
Avenue on the First Avenue side, has been very, very haunted
with paranormal activity therethat businesses can't seem to
stay in business because it's sohaunted because of the
paranormal activity that is andthe energy that is in that
existed space.
So I find that to be veryintriguing and I haven't had the
(09:46):
opportunity to venture intothat space.
But I have spent many of timesin Kel's Irish Bar and it is
very strange to think, whileyou're having a cold Irish beer
and watching a band play, tothink that yeah, that's where
they were cremating bodies ordoing their thing to prep the
(10:10):
bodies for their you know theirfinal resting spot.
Yeah, now for those who arefans of like, like different
haunted places West Seattle isvery haunted there's this place
(10:31):
called the Bambo Room.
Now, if you're not familiar withthis place, it's a theme bar
that is a pirated theme bar andthe story and the legend story
goes that there's someone thathaunts the restroom.
Now I've had firsthandexperience where you walk into
(10:55):
the restroom and the water'sstill running.
I'm like who is the jerk thatleft the water running?
And it's strange because youturn it off and then it turns
back on.
I don't know like if it's amiss, if it's a sensor thing or
whatever, but hey, who knows?
(11:16):
But I someone, uh, that aco-worker shared with me.
You're like, hey, did you knowabout this haunted place?
Do you know about, uh, francis?
Um, she also haunts West.
I mean, there's so many ofthese different haunted stories
that people come up to tell andshare with me, but I didn't know
that these places, like Ididn't know that West Seattle
had so many haunted places.
And you start to look at thehistory of West Seattle, of it
(11:38):
being its own thriving cityoutside of Seattle, before
Seattle swallowed it up orannexed it into seattle proper,
other than it's they were.
They were thriving as a, as acommunity, as a city.
It wasn't until they needed theutility services that uh,
(11:59):
seattle said, hey, we're goingto go ahead and make you part of
the city.
So, um, yeah, I just so muchgoing on, but, uh, you know
watching the headline news andthings of that nature as we get
back into these haunted stories.
But I wanted to take a secondto talk about this because we'll
talk about this with um markjacobson, who's going to join us
(12:21):
soon again I don't care ifyou're.
I guess this goes back to thepolitics piece.
I guess you don't have to be arepublican, you don't need to be
a democrat, you don't need tobe an independent libertarian to
see what's going on.
(12:41):
It is very interesting to me inthese times.
If you haven't had anopportunity to read the book
Behold the Pale Horse or listento the, you know, listen to the
audio book, this would be aperfect time to read it.
I think you would be quite.
It would enhance your awarenessof what is going on right now.
(13:07):
And um, to see that they put adetention center now calling it,
uh, alligator alcatraz, interesting, it makes me tilt my
head.
And um, this book.
It talks about the differenttypes of camps, what the
(13:29):
government is going to do withthe secret society.
So if you're into that type ofthing, where you're, are we
close to that?
I mean, this book has alwayshad my awareness at a level
always up 9-11, after readingthis, I read this book prior to
(13:50):
9-11.
It had me quite aware.
Just, it makes you things thatmake you go.
Hmm, and I'm not saying thateverything in this book is
gospel, but if William Cooperwho wrote Behold the Pale Horse
(14:12):
was alive.
I'm pretty sure he would besounding the alarm right now.
I'm not sure that he definitelywould be sounding the alarm.
He would be.
He would be saying what is this?
What is going on?
Are you, are we payingattention to what is going on?
(14:37):
So you know Not to be political, just you know.
Don't be sheep, be lion Be.
You know Independent.
Be political, just you know.
Don't be sheep, be lion Be.
You know independent, be freethinkers.
As always, it's free to be afree thinker.
So, yeah, as we continuetalking about the holiday
weekend, it is one of myfavorites.
Now.
My go-to item typically is a dog.
(14:59):
You know, some mustard pickleddill relish, some either grilled
onions, If I have cream cheesefor like a quick Seattle dog, I
have seen the bacon-wrapped hotdogs out there that have been
making a huge viral push.
(15:21):
I'm not so much into that.
Or the hot Cheetos as well.
I've seen that as well.
If I was going to do a hotCheetos combo, I would say I
would do the cream cheese, thenthe fire red hot Cheetos on top
of the cream cheese, then thedog in the middle.
(15:43):
If it was wrapped in bacon, yeah, that's fine as well.
Then I could put the rest of myaccoutrement on what's your
favorite hot dog?
Let me know.
Send me a text 775-990-5151.
Adam sends his text in fromYelm.
(16:05):
Each year they do a IndependenceDay party and they do a hot dog
eating contest.
Typically, the max hot dogs areeating is 12.
Alright, that's awesome.
I'm glad you guys do that.
That's a fun.
Thinking about it makes mystomach just hurt is 12.
All right, that's awesome.
I'm glad you guys do that.
That's a fun.
Oh man, thinking about it makesmy stomach just hurt.
(16:26):
That is quite impressive.
Congratulations to you guys fordoing that.
It says here that they give outa prize, and they give out a
prize and a hat.
So someone gets to wear theirhot dog eating contest hat.
So that's cool.
(16:47):
That's cool.
Uh, other texts coming in aswell.
Uh, we like to do ambrosia salad.
Um, we also like to do a cakewith like a cool whip topping
and then put like fresh berries, like blueberries and
raspberries for the stars andstripes.
(17:08):
Oh, that's awesome.
That's fun.
I definitely love a, a fresh,light cake as well.
I'm I kind of like to eat a lot.
Um, yeah, I definitely love theholiday.
Like.
These types of holidays are fun, and I also like to make my own
dips as well too.
You know, like the onion dip, take the soup mix and then take
(17:30):
some sour cream and just pourthe packet in there and have at
it.
Um, some other things we've donein the past is just go to the
beach, grab some fresh shellfish.
I don't know about this time ofyear right now.
I don't believe that that's agreat idea to be going to the
beach to be grabbing that.
(17:51):
Look for red tides.
If you're going to be doingthat, make sure you check the
gaming websites in regards towhat's appropriate and what's
not appropriate to be eating atthis time of year.
In regards to grabbing it offthe beach, I'm sure there are
plenty of places, including themarket.
Uh, dino down at plight place.
If you're looking for freshshellfish, uh, you can get it
(18:12):
down there as well, and ifyou're out of town, you can
always order it.
Um, you know you're down atocean shores tons of places
around that you can get it.
So hello to all my friends downin ocean shores.
Definitely miss you guys.
Can't wait to see you soon.
Uh, k-a-p-y, we definitely.
I definitely was awesome towatch your guys's live stream on
(18:35):
facebook.
Love that as well.
Um, you know, what's still funnyto me is how haunted like we
were just talking about goingback to haunted stories how
haunted Seattle really is andhow haunted other places are,
like Duval and some of thehaunted stories about the portal
(18:58):
, and I still find that one tobe very interesting and
intriguing the portal atSnoqualmie by the falls.
I had no idea that this thingeven existed.
I remember us doing a show waylong ago about this portal in
Snoqualmie and that the motelsin North Bend are very haunted.
(19:21):
Now the hotels near in NorthBend and then there's a couple
bars that are also very hauntedin North Bend and I like that
kind of thing.
If you're doing a staycationand maybe you're out camping
near these sites.
What haunted stories do youlike to share?
(19:43):
Because some that I like totell are like very, very
interesting, like the MysticForest Trap, the Pacific
Northwest, five teams camped ina clear known.
(20:04):
Five teams camped in a clearknown.
My favorite one is the mistyfog, the misty forest trap in
the Pacific Northwest.
Five teams camped in a clear, known for strange fogs.
Around 3 am a ghostly mist creptin swallowing.
Two tents Scream echoes, thensilence.
(20:27):
The others fled and when therangers arrived the tents were
empty.
No trace of the missing campers.
Legend says the mist returnsevery July, hungry for new souls
.
Woo, where's this place at inthe Pacific Northwest?
(20:54):
Because I am not going campingthere.
You know what I'm saying.
Can you imagine if that was you?
You're out there camping.
Woo, wee, no, thank you, no,thank you, no, thank you.
Here's one if you ever go downto the Oregon coast, near the
(21:14):
final duet, near the Oregoncoast inn.
A traveling pianist stopped atthe seaside inn and awoke to a
moonlight serenade.
Drifting from the conservatoryshe found a man in a vintage
(21:35):
tuxedo playing alone.
He said I've been waiting foryou.
He said I've been waiting foryou.
She joined him and they played.
Both faded into the air.
Her car remains outside, butshe was never seen again.
Holy smokes.
(21:55):
Now I wonder who she was.
Was she a family member of thisindividual?
Maybe it was his wife who knows?
These are the kind of storiesthat get me every time.
How haunted they are.
The ghostly feeling have youever had that?
(22:16):
When you're in a place and thenall of a sudden you feel like
this chill come on you, or likeyou feel like this cold wind
touching your body.
Oh, I'm telling you, I've onlyhad it once or twice and
typically I I always brush itoff as like oh yeah, whatever,
just because I want to staysuper macho you know what I mean
(22:39):
like I don't want to be likespooked out, but it's very hard
Because it happens.
You still.
You know, you still get spooked.
If you want to share yourhaunted stories, send them in
775-990-5151.
All right, let's go to the textline at 775-990-5151.
(23:04):
Lindsay sends us a text and saysshe wanted to share her story.
A woman named Lindsay receiveda text message of an unknown
number.
Lizzie, I see you.
She was alone, blinds drawn andno one could possibly see her
(23:26):
the message.
The message escalated.
I'm standing right next to you.
She called the number and itwasn't in service.
The texter even referenced hernew hair color when she hadn't
posted online.
Police found no one and thetexts stopped, but she still
(23:52):
wonders if the entity iswatching.
Ooh, that is creepy.
That is very creepy, and ifthat was someone pranking
someone, they definitely did areally good job.
But she was not able to respondto the text message.
Very interesting we got a textmessage from another that wanted
(24:17):
to share his story.
So campers near crater lakereported receiving texts from a
number of labeled unknownssaying don't go to the cabin.
Don't go in the cabin is whatit says.
They don't.
(24:38):
They hadn't told anyone aboutthe cabin nearby.
One camper replied and theresponse was you're already
inside.
The cabin was locked and empty, but their phone kept buzzing
with warnings until they leftthe area.
Oh, so scary.
(24:59):
Let's continue with textmessages that are pouring in
right now.
Text coming in uh, fireworks, freak 88.
Hey, mario.
Uh, love, the show had to sharethis.
Back in 2012, I was watching afireworks from my grandma's
porch in spokane and I saw thislittle boy standing in the yard
(25:22):
staring up.
I thought he was a neighbor kid, the neighbor's kid, but when I
asked my grandma she said theboy died in a firework accident
in the 80s.
Right there, I swear.
He looked straight at me andsmiled before vanishing Ooh-wee,
oh man, I got chills right nowjust thinking about that.
(25:46):
Man.
Thanks for sharing that textmessage and sharing that story
with us.
Man, don't you got chills?
If you're like hanging outcamping right now hearing these
stories, these are great, givingyou a little bit of the
goosebumps.
Great stories for thepicturesque campfire that you
have going on right now.
(26:06):
Another text comes called Ghostin Tacoma, yo Mario, weirdest
fourth ever.
We were camping near MountRainier and got a group of texts
from a number none of usrecognized.
It said don't light the fuse.
We laughed it off and lit thefireworks anyways.
(26:29):
One exploded sideways and hitour cooler.
Later the number vanished fromour phones.
Creepy part.
The message timestamp was threeminutes before we brought.
We even bought the fireworks.
(26:49):
Interesting, those kinds ofthings really start to creep me
out when you talk about theparanormal activity things that
are.
I mean, we think about this.
I was at a 4th of July party uh, block party years ago in
Bonnie Lake near the Tahali uhdevelopment and um, you know
(27:12):
sharing stories about you knowthe show.
And this kid comes up to me andsays, hey, you're not going to
believe my story.
And he's like, can I share itwith you?
And I was like, yeah, he's like, can I share it with you?
And I was like, yeah, he's like, before they built all the
houses out there into holly heis, his house where his parents
and him lived was like one ofthe first houses in the
development and as a kid he hewould go out and play, he would
(27:37):
play in the woods and, um, hewould hear the wind and things
of that nature.
But what is interesting is thatthere were times where he said
he got very silent, like thewind would stop and like you
could almost hear a pin drop.
(27:57):
And there was one time he wascoming home from playing in the
woods and he saw what he saidwas an indigenous man on a horse
riding through, looked at himand left and what's interesting
(28:23):
is he said nothing to nobodybecause he was afraid that.
You know, they were like, oh,you're crazy.
So later on, weeks later, hesaid that he was, there were
paranormal activity at the housethat they live in.
And so he finally told hisparents about what he saw in the
(28:45):
woods and his parents were like, oh, that's interesting.
They thought he was the onebanging on the doors.
But it was really not him.
It was some type of entity, andI've done some research.
I'm not sure if there was, youknow, if there, if there's
burial sites there, um, you know, native american burial sites
(29:07):
up there in bonnie lake to hollyneighborhood.
Um, I that I don't know.
I didn't see anything inregards to rec records of that
type.
So, um, yeah, continue to sendyour text messages in, uh,
775-990-5151.
Let's continue going to thetext line, because this is fun.
What we got them here.
Why not read them right Red,white and boom.
(29:30):
Hey Mario, I was at a party inPortland last year and around
midnight I got a text from my exwho passed away two years ago.
It just said meet me by theriver.
I freaked out, check the number.
It was disconnected.
I went to the river anyways, noone was there, but I found a
(29:54):
single sparkler burning in thesand and I didn't even light it.
Red, white Boob, thank you forsending in your text message.
I haven't been to Portland in awhile I'm not sure I'll be going
back anytime soon, the citythat stays weird, as they like
to say.
Yeah, usually this is the timeof year where I typically don't
(30:19):
head down to Portland.
There's so much other things todo.
But, wow, interesting Now.
You said that the number wasdisconnected, so clearly you
called it, but you still found asparkler down there.
Wow, that's man.
That's got to make the hairs onthe back of your neck stand up
(30:40):
to think that your ex had passedaway and, who knows, maybe she
was sending you a little hellofrom a distance.
From a distance.
Yeah, you know, let's get intothe haunted port.
(31:02):
Know, let's get into, uh, thehaunted port.
Now, for those that have beento port, like gamble bay,
handsville area, it's hauntedthere, very haunted.
I'm quite familiar.
Uh, port gamble was a loggingtown.
They they had the port therewhere they were.
Uh, they had had the sawmillthere so they were doing a lot
(31:24):
of refining of the wood.
I had spent many weekends inGamble Bay playing as a kid.
There was a portion of thefloating bridge that had been
there for years making kind of anatural reef in the area,
making kind of a natural reef inthe area.
(31:45):
Now, for those that don't know, the Walker Ames house is very
haunted and on 1 4th of July aparanormal team claims to hear
children laughing and runningaround upstairs.
Though the house is alwayslocked, they hear these voices
(32:07):
and kids playing.
I haven't had that experienceand, doing some research, I know
there are plenty of experiencesLike, if you're looking for
something to do, they do hauntedtours in Gamble Bay and over
there at the Walker walker ameshouse.
So definitely check that out ifthat's something that you're
(32:27):
into.
I, yeah, I've gone there, um,but I haven't had any of those
experiences where you know wherepeople have had that and
there's a lot of paranormalactivity there.
It's just like when you headdown to different places, um,
like in seattle or down inoregon, um, I always go back to
(32:50):
like el bistro and the marketbecause of the historical pieces
during, uh, the 1900s, duringthe spanish uh flu, how many
people were working in one ofthe oldest uh industries, the
sex uh working, uh sex workers, which is, you know, one of the
longest working industries outthere.
From you know, gold mining andwhatnot oldest professions, uh,
(33:15):
not legal by any means, but, um,when you go to like an Listro,
if you've not been to the PikePlace Market.
It's going down the alleybefore you get to the gum wall.
There on the left-hand side theplace is haunted.
Great food but very haunted.
I just love that.
You know that experience thatyou get down there.
(33:37):
I mean the history is so richof haunted spook stories that
you just you gotta love it, yougotta embrace it.
I mean the whole city with allthese cemeteries that were moved
, like denny park.
If you go to denny park it'shaunted there.
There that used to be a used tobe an old cemetery at denny
(34:00):
park I mean all the bodies havebeen removed, but still, you
know, I mean it's, it's crazy.
Now let's go to uh.
Back to some of the haunted uhstories of uh elliott bay, the
ghost ship of elliott bay, seattle, washington.
Each summer some waterfrontvisitors claim to see a phantom
(34:22):
ship drifting silently acrossElia Bay.
Now, I haven't had that, Ihaven't seen that.
Legends say it appears near the4th of July and foretells doom.
But there's also a belevitantspirit named Patty, a ghostly
(34:48):
fisherman who comforts those indespair, especially around the
holiday when emotions run high.
I don't know that.
I've ever heard this storyabout the ghost ship of Elliot
Bay and I mean it's, I mean,we're right in the prime of it
(35:13):
too.
That's awesome.
Thank you for sharing thatstory.
I did not know about that one.
I don't.
Yeah, I might have to, afterthe show, go outside and take a
journey over to elliott bay likelate, like 1 am, to see if I
(35:33):
see anything out there.
Yeah, I've not seen that.
All right, we're to go back tothe text line.
Texter says 4th of the 4th July,4th Watchers.
Mario, this happened in 2005.
My cousin and I were textingduring the fireworks in
(35:54):
Bellingham.
She sent me a picture of thesky, but there was a face in the
smoke.
I zoomed in and it looked likemy uncle, who died in a car
crash on the 4th of July yearsbefore we both got chills.
Her phone crashed right after.
(36:18):
She swears it never saved thephoto.
Huh, if you have that photo, please send it to me on text
message.
I'd love to see that and postit on the website.
Well, you have the phone number.
If you have it, send it.
If you don't, oh well, man, that's awesome.
(36:42):
So do you have haunted stories?
I mean, what's your favoritething to do, what's your
favorite thing to eat during theFourth of July weekend?
All right, let's see what thetext line says.
Grillmaster Gabe, mario, it'sgot to be ribs sticky, smoky,
(37:09):
falling off the bone ribs.
I marinate mine in root beer inchipotle overnight.
My uncle says they're betterthan fireworks and he calls them
and he calls a pyrotechnicianinteresting.
Hey, gabe, thanks for sharingthat.
(37:30):
If you want to share thatrecipe too, maybe someone wants
to share their recipes.
That'd be awesome too.
Uh, texter sends in.
Hey, mario, I live forwatermelon and feta salad.
It's sweet, salty and patrioticwith those red, white and blue
colors oh yeah I definitely lovethat.
You know, get that freshwatermelon, get those the water
(37:53):
in you from after a nice warmday, and and they also bring it
to the cookouts as well.
This one coming in, yo, mario.
I'm all about the homemade corndogs.
Something about the goldencrunch and mustard zigzagging
(38:20):
just screams freedom.
I even make mini ones for mydogs.
She's a fan you know, yes, awesome that you share your uh
corn dogs with your, your dogs,um, I I do love a good corn dog,
but I wouldn't.
I don't typically associate mycorn dogs with the 4th of July.
(38:44):
Now, if you're old school, fromthe Pacific Northwest, I always
associate my corn dog with theWashington State Fair, also
known to locals as the PuyallupFair.
So the Washington State Fairdon't come for me please.
(39:05):
I'm old school, I've lived heremy entire life.
It will always be the PuyallupFair, but we know it's the
Washington State Fair.
Okay, the corndogs at theWashington State Fair reign
supreme Corndogs scones.
Now, if I'm at a fair like theBuy to Seattleattle or something
like that which is coming up,and I see the fisher scones, I
(39:27):
get one, but it just feels oddto have it and for some, yeah,
it just feels off, you know.
But definitely love a good corndog.
So, yeah, you know what too, sometimes when I'm.
But also I love a good corn dog.
Or like sausage links dipped inpancake batter.
(39:49):
Oh, those are good too forbreakfast.
Gosh, I'm hungry.
We got one another text messagein here.
Fourth of July without bakedbeans would be a crime.
I add bourbon and brown sugarand let them simmer all day.
(40:10):
My family always tries to stealthe recipe and I told them it's
classified.
If they're family, don't youwant to share the recipe?
Oh man, now have you won abaked bean contest with this
(40:32):
recipe?
Do you take it to like a bakedbean contest?
Um, more text messages continueto come in.
I do love food during this timeof year, so you know kind of.
I know things are kind of aloosey-goosey on the paranormal
show this evening, but man don'tyou just love it?
food, family, friends, justrelaxing all weekend long.
Now, I almost forgot about this, and thank you for texting in,
(40:56):
mario, wait, I wait all year formy grandmother's cherry pie.
She bakes it with a crust shapeinto fireworks.
One year she added ghostpeppers by accident.
We still talk about this.
Oh, ghost peppers, how doesthat even happen?
(41:17):
That has got to be one spicycherry pie and and I know
everyone's got the song goingthrough your head right now
she's my cherry pie.
Yeah, I mean, I know I did so.
Um, are you a big chair?
I'm not a huge cherry pie.
I would think cherry or applethis time of year, but, um, I
(41:44):
really, I really go for like thelight fresh fruit whipped cream
type of cakes or tarts andthings of that nature I don't
really think of like hot cherrypie.
I think of like those hostesscherry pies and, man, either you
love them or hated them, and Iwas definitely not a fan of
cherry apple.
(42:05):
I could do, but cherry just wasnot my jam.
I'd eat it if it was like theonly thing there.
You know, um, we also have someothers that are sending text
messages.
Um, hot dogs.
I ate exactly four hot dogsevery year on the 4th of July,
(42:27):
one for each quarter of the yearKetchup, mustard relish and
jalapenos.
It's a tradition.
Don't judge me as an adult.
Do you still put ketchup onyour hot dog?
I mean, I do not, I do not, Ido not.
I will not judge you, but Ithought that there was this
unspoken word about ketchup onhot dogs for adults, that it
(42:52):
wasn't a thing, that you weren'tallowed to put ketchup on hot
dogs anymore as a grown adult.
Now, if you do, I mean I'm notjudging you maybe a little, but
not really mustard for me ifthere's other fixings.
Now, if you do, I mean I'm notjudging you Maybe a little, but
not really Mustard for me ifthere's other fixings, like I
said, when I go to the ballpark,I'll have a hot dog before I
(43:13):
get to the game In the alleythere in Occidental.
When you go to the baseball game, I'll get myself a hot dog with
the sour cream, grilled onions, and then I'll get put some
mustard on and then I'll add, uh, some some dill pickle relish,
like I said earlier, if youweren't listening.
(43:34):
Uh, yeah, that's how I like myhot dog.
I'm not a sauerkraut person.
Uh, for those that do love it.
No judging um, I don'ttypically put a ton of like
jalapenos or bell peppers or,you know, like pepperoncinis or
things like that.
I don't put mayo on my hot dogeither.
I'm not a mayo person.
(43:55):
It's just basically mustard andif I'm going like, if I'm just
going straight in and there'snothing else available, it's
mustard only.
You know, just some mustard andput down the dog.
And I mean, think about thistoo For those of you that go to
the warehouse and you get the$1.50 hot dog.
You know you can get onionsagain, so that's always a thing
(44:18):
as we get close to wrappingthings up from the Pacific
Northwest.
Thank you for hanging out withus.
I know it's that time of year.
I just we made it to thehalfway year point and man, I'm
just trying to just thank you.
Thank you for being a part ofthe show.
Thank you for downloading theshow.
Thank you for supporting us.
Um, we do it every, we try to doit every week.
(44:38):
It's just been such a busy umfew weeks for me, um so, and
timing hasn't been right.
So we look forward to havingsome, uh, exciting guests come
back to the show.
Uh, mark, um, mark, jacobson, maybe we'll have an attorney
come, come in and to give us thedetails of what happened in the
dd trial as well, and talk tomark jacobson about what would?
(45:03):
What would william cooper bethinking right now?
Uh, with the headlines thathave been going on in in today's
day?
Um, yeah, you, just, you, justyou know, I mean, it's just a
different time, and if youhaven't read the book, behold
the bell horse, go do it.
This is a great time to to dothat.
Get the audiobook.
It it's, it's a, it's a heftyread, but it's got so much
(45:25):
information you will find someof it to be very much misleading
.
You'll, you'll learn a fewthings.
Some things that you'll see inthe book will have you
questioning.
You're like things that'll makeyou say, hey, wait, I have seen
this before, so you'll get someof that as well.
And yeah, you just you got tostay on top of things and just
(45:49):
remember to be a free thinker ofwhat's going on.
Stay on top of things.
Don't always believe everythingyou hear.
You know there's so muchmisinformation.
Again, like I said last week,do your homework.
There's a ton of it stuff.
There's a ton of stuff outthere that has just been
misleading in regards to what'sbeen going on, in regards to
(46:10):
even Didi's trial, like sayingthat he's guilty on all counts
when they didn't have a verdictout just yet.
That's just one example of manythat are out there that are
misleading misinformation thathas been pushed out there.
So remember and here's the thingfor all of us who have parents
(46:31):
that are in their 70s Remindthem when they're playing the
Sudoku's and things of thatnature.
I spent some time the other dayhelping my sister, helping my
dad remove a bunch of crap offof his phone.
You got to remember, guys andgals that our parents, you know,
are getting up there in age andwe need to make sure we take
(46:51):
care of them and uh tell themthat we love them, and
especially with their electronicdevices.
Boy, oh boy, that was a funadventure.
I was like, wow, I think yourphone's toast, but it wasn't.
We were able to get all thecrap, scrape off, all the stuff.
So we're thankful for that.
Again, thank you so much forbeing a part of the show
(47:11):
listening, hanging out with me.
It's a privilege to get to hangout with you every week.
I try not to take it forgranted.
You know you.
Just you never know.
Um again, I want to uh shout outto mark christopher the legend,
who uh retired, uh recently uh,from our affiliate radio
(47:32):
stations, northwest news radio,uh, kvi, um.
You may have heard him onmultiple stations in the market
over the years 97.3.
He's been on Warm 106.9.
And then he did a nice run onNorthwest News Radio as well as
(47:55):

So a big round of applause goesout to a good dear friend,
radio friend of mine, markChristopher the legend.
It is a privilege to call you afriend, a mentor, someone who
has just been very kind in theradio business, always willing
(48:15):
to mentor someone, always to gothe extra mile for people.
But you know you're going to seehim at air shows.
You're going to hear him dospecialty things.
You're going to see him moredoing community events, getting
back, giving back to thecommunity, doing what he loves
the most.
You can hear him.
He'll be doing the seafair calluh.
(48:36):
So you'll see him on, uh, hearhim, or see him on the
television if you're watchingthe seafair from afar.
So, uh.
